I know timeline and ages are super vague in MDZS but I personally heacanon MY to be 18-20 during sunshot depending on how long he was at Nie and Jin before running away. smthsmth assuming he did have a life between leaving his former home and joining the war, since he had time to get a bad reputation inbetween as thief apprentice and worked as accountant at some point (ouch) But also because in terms of doing horrible things there’s a difference if he’s a teen or adult i think. At least in terms of holding him accountable and going “hey dude wtf you knew what you were doing” and I personally like a Meng Yao who makes informed terrible choices more/is less easy swayed/influenced by others. Smth smth, his time at Wen less a corruption arc and instead the training arc to 80s music needed to power up, so he can actually keep up with cultivation society, he even gets a new weapon like a true shonen-protag. This ties in how I have strong opinions on how I prefer WRH-MY interaction and I like it best when it’s not “WRH manipulating or pressuring Meng Yao into anything” and more Meng Yao doing the torture thing out of his own choice with WRH going “Same hat? Same hat!!! Wanna be friends? Here’s constructive critique!” I’m super biased but unconventional bros being bros/sharing one braincell but villains is so tasty. And them being genuine friends makes the betrayal extra good since it’s less “he had it coming” and more “oh srsly? Is it worth it?” maybe with a dash of “wow u betrayed me for your ambitions and tbh I respect that”

Romance or boning optional depending on how much you thirst for WRH. (RIP CQL-onlies, unless you have seen his tiddy-out-pics) I’m rambling ovr this because I recently read a fic I loved a lot and up until that point I honestly thought I’m too dumb to understand canon because of my interpretation/take.

CHARACTER IN GENERAL: okaaaaaay so you’ve got so many beautiful muses on here that it’s hard to pick just one to write with ( i mean, i’m sure we just said ‘all’ in the end cause we’re masochists like that.  i have been stalking for a while and reading all your threads with mutuals because i am a weirdo and i just ??   love them all.  they’re all thorough , and i can hear their voices individually.  plus, need i mention that you write one of the most underrated character’s in the HP universe alone?   PETER!  honestly i am so excited to get to know who he was before he became what we’ve seen in the books.  HOW THEY PLAY THEM: like, amazing tbh.  i quite enjoy them all.  THE MUN: you seem super chill and so kind and ??  sweet?

OVERALL OPINION: i’m so excited!  you’ve got a beautiful collection of muses that are all different ( annnnnd you write one ( 1 ) peter pettigrew!  )  every thought and heacanon for each one is well versed and thought out and ??   it’s such a blessing tbh.  i can’t wait to see what trouble they all get into.

AAAH no these were both great answers! :D Thank you so much for indulging me! Also, never be sorry about Tucker appreciation posts, because he's honestly such a great character and I love him a lot. He very much so is the Blue Team support pillar, and I LOVE that you mentioned that! Also, you're so totally right that Tucker is excellent at reading just about everyone. I just mentioned Freelancers specifically because the other characters seem to have a harder time with them than he does. [1/2]

[2/2] Tucker as a Freelancer handler would be so interesting though, because the Director is also good at reading people, but (at least towards the end when we see him) appears to use it mostly to both inspire loyalty and manipulate them.

And then there’s Florida. Like, I, personally, very much like to headcanon that Tucker figured out what Church was (and maybe event that something wasn’t all that cool with Flowers) waaaay before Flowers died, but just never let on that he knew. It’s especially satisfying because Florida is the Freelancer that’s so damn hard to read and he set up this entire thing to get the least smart people imaginable, and then Tucker figures it out. Easily. And Flowers is being low-key tricked because Tucker isn’t telling him that he knows. But that’s a personal heacanon.

And don’t tempt me, friend, that sounds like such an interesting fanfic, bc at the end, I can just imagine it turning into a split between Tucker & Tex & Connie and the Director, and who sides with who, especially since their ways of reading people are different? Tucker would probably be very earnest about helping and trying to convince them that this is the right choice, but, as you said, the Director is good at manipulating people and I can just see him reminding Wash of everything he’s done for him, convincing South that staying with him would help her surpass her brother and they will stop comparing her to him, that she can be her own person, and so on.

And can you imagine the conversations between the Director and Tucker?? There would be mind games, and split of opinions on how to handle them, and frustration, and Tucker would have to be careful not to be fired, and ooooh, tucker approaching connie about what’s happening,about what he knows, and them developing a plan together, and omg the Director knowing exactly what it would take to break his own mind (bc he’s torturing alpha) but asking Tucker for confirmation, and Tucker being ??? and oh gosh what if Tucker was actually friends with alpha and alpha isn’t around anymore and that’s how he realizes and AAAAAHHHH IDEAS
