I very rarely think about storylines for royjamie after richmond (because it breaks my heart a little to think of anyone of the team leaving) but like it's possible that jamie would choose to stay with richmond his whole career, it's also possible that the people at richmond itself would push for him to play for *insert the name of whatever other european football team is considered the best* and he becomes a proper super star, being invited for fancy events and shit.

(In a made up world where Ted stayed in London) Roy and Jamie got together while at richmond and now Roy travels with him everywhere as his own personal coach / PA / secret boyfriend / man behind the camera of every instagram post / personal grumpy cat / number one fan / emotional support teddy bear / personal chef etc He loves being with him 24/7 and finds it fulfilling to still be involved with football and helping someone be the best they can be but without the added pressure of having to constantly step outside his comfort zone that he'd have experienced being a manager to a whole team (he's doing good with being vulnerable with Jamie, he can do it with one person that he loves and he is still going to therapy for himself to work through his own trauma/CEN/grief and is focusing on learning to be in his skin as a human being and not this fucked up idea of masculinity he's got in his head) And Roy has a private instagram account under a random username where he follows and is followed only by the richmond team/coaches/Rebecca/Higgins + Keely + Georgie & Simon + his sister and he only uses it to post pictures of food, nature, weird shit he finds in the cities they visit, and his fit boyfriend. Since it's friends only he does use captions ("the muppet had a late night last night" with a picture of Jamie asleep on the floor) and all the himbos love to comment, especially Dani's "Sexy muchachos #JOY" under every single picture.

I love Colin, I love Ted Lasso writers a very not so normal amount let me tell ya.

This gonna be a stupid rant please bear with me.

As a football fan (Chelsea darling you need to get your shit together asap), I know damn well how this toxic and homophobic this community can be. There is a famous Spanish goalkeeper who once stated on the bird app that he was gay (tho he’s happily married to a woman), and one of his teammates was just… played along with that ig? At first, I thought he was so brave to say that publicly, I might have well defended him on every online post laughing at him and his “sexuality” (yes, all of those comments were horrible— and yes, I’m glad that I did not do that). Only later the gk said his account was hacked. They were just making fun of coming out in football without realising how much hurt they had caused to the queer community. And I never felt disgusted towards them ever like that before. And no one, not a single soul felt bad for the ones’d been hurt. They just laughed it off and everything went on like usual.

Unlike in women’s league, we hardly see any out men players in major leagues (5 ones: England, France, Spain, Italia, Germany). Even if we know someone, he was no longer playing, at all. That’s just the world we’re living in. Though I must acknowledge the effort they’re putting on during every specific occasion in a year.

Back to Colin. I was so touched and emotional when hearing him sharing his deep down thoughts.

Colin does not need to stand out. He does not want to stand in the spotlight and talk about his sexuality, to be an influencer of something like that. He just wants his life to be exact the way it is, and it is not about feeling ashamed or something. I have a strong feeling that he will not come out to the world. Colin just has a little secret to himself (and to his himbos family only). And I believe he’s happy with it.

That being said, Colin does not want to put any pressure on his teammates when they find out he’s gay. He knows they love him for whoever he is, and they might feel guilty because of those previous disrespect comments, but Colin does not blame them. As long as they care for him (of course!), then Colin feels no need to hear any apologises.

My heart just dropped dead onto the floor. Oh how many times have Colin witnessed other players got to kiss their lovers and wished he could be like them. He saw Jamie, Sam, and then Roy have lovely moments with their love interests, with everyone else cheering and supporting. Hope to see his ahead journey when at least now someone knows and understands his feeling. For the first time, he actually feels “seen”.

Trent and Colin conversation will forever be engraved in my brain. Such a healthy and heart-warming moment between them. It’s safe to say Sunflowers is my favourite episode from Ted Lasso, I laughed and I squeaked and I teared up and I died at every shot. This episode is a fucking masterpiece!!

P/S: I let out a sigh of relief when they haven’t killed off Michael yet. Colin deserves every bit of happiness and love please don’t take Michael away from him I’m begging youuuu

Okay, this chapter must have altered my brain chemistry for real, because there is no other explanation for me to having experienced so many emotions whilst reading.

From the very beginning, can we talk about how everything in Jake’s home and routine reminds him of Bradley, because it is actually thanks to Bradley that that place stopped being just the place he slept at and became an actual home, with little memories and little signs of habits scattered everywhere? No, because I think I could write an actual dissertation about it.

And Javy -my man- immediately seeing through Jake’s trying to brush off the thing with a “it was for the best” 💖💖. Have I already told you how much I love the secondary characters? Probably, but I’ll repeat it because really, they are just awesome! I love Nat’s bluntness, hers not taking b*****t from anyone and saying things how they are; Javy and Cassie’s loving but not suffocating presence; Nick and Carole -who have won parenting at this point-, who show their support when they know its needed and genuinely care, but at the same time are gracious enough not to meddle and let the kids figure stuff out themselves; Harvard and his lovable himbo energy (I would have never imagined to say lovable and himbo in the same sentence, but here we are).

The way you got them back together is just perfect, because it wasn’t some tacky musical rom-com grand gesture, it was an actual open heart confused conversation in which they finally let it all out…or part of it, the rest was spoken in bed and that was so perfect too. And the fact that the secrets they kept and mistakes they made (not telling about Nick and the break up to provide a scoop) were both attempts to protect the other 💔? That’s some tragically poetic stuff right there. They are so perfect for each other, even and maybe especially because they make mistakes...and I am about to get emotional. Again.

I cannot wait to read what will happen next in this story and in the wonderful sequel ideas you have talked about! Especially the IceMav, my beloveds, wedding, because, just from the scene in which the agents tries -and succeeds- to knock some sense into Jake, it’s clear that they are both all and that makes me so happy! Even if it is a couple decades later than what it could have been, it’s so beautiful 💙. I also love the possibility of Bradley and Jake going international simply because it would be fun watching them perhaps in Europe, somewhere I might be familiar with. Plus, here most of us don't care about american football, so no paparazzi to be worried about.

There's SO much to be said about the home aspect- Jake deciding what that meant for him, Bradley helping him make his house into a home. His influence scattered around the space. How going forward, they're going to do that intentionally. Bradley never expected Jake to mold to fit into his already created home, but instead helped Jake build his own?

THANK YOUUUUU omg I love the secondary characters. They're so important, the people that you fill your life with influence you so much and having a support system, and Jake realizing those people are all his family he's choosing, I just! They deserve their times to shine so I can't wait to play around with them more in the sequels and one shots and stuff!

Anyway, youre entirely right it would have been WEIRD if the show had never resolved the conflict of ted and his relationship to fatherhood and henry, absolutely. I actually went into the finale expecting ted to go back to kansas, ngl, i did think that s3 was setting that up, so it wasnt really a surprise to me.

THAT SAID

The show has done an excellent job in the past of subverting our expectations, and moving forward with a storyline that is both satisfying to the folks who expected something else and also those who wanted the subversion. I mean, take richmond being relegated in the s1 finale. That was not a standard storyline we have come to expect - where the heroes succeed against all odds - but was ESSENTIAL for the growth and development of the characters and their arcs

And thats the kind of ending i expected here. Something that followed through with the themes and ideas of the past 3 seasons, a nuanced and complex story that didnt take the easy way out of anything, and instead forced us to reconcile that two conflicting emotions or events or whatever can exist at the same time without mutual exclusion

That nate could both be a person who was subjected to harrassment and bullying and negligence from his parents and is just trying to heal and become the best he can be AND ALSO a fucking twat who perpetuated the same abuses he faced onto someone weaker

That jamie could both be a child of abuse who can love and hate his father and struggle with how to overcome the shadow his father has casted over him and his football career AND ALSO a fucking himbo who was cruel to the people who loved him and had to take accountability for his actions

And ted could both be thankful to his mother for the love she gave him AND ALSO hate her a little for not giving him the support he needed after his dad died

AND TED COULD BOTH BE A GOOD FATHER AND ALSO NOT SACRIFICE EVERYTHING HE'S BUILT IN RICHMOND SOLELY FOR THE SAKE OF HIS SON

like these are not ideas that are mutually exclusive these are components of a complex and compelling story line and can and do exist at the same time

So all that said, yes my ideal outcome turns out, was for henry and michelle to come to england

Ok so for those of you who might be a smidge confused as to why so many of us may be upset about ted going back to kansas to be with his son bc "it was always going to end up like this" "thats his boy of course he was going to go back" "Ted's entire journey was about how to be a better father and not to do to henry what ted's father did to him" like

Y'all realize that parents are people too, right??? They have their own thoughts and beliefs and friends and things that make them happy and interests (special or otherwise) and hobbies and relationships outside of their children and and and and and

To say that his ENTIRE character arc revolves around his son is reductive and perpetuates terrible ideas about what it means to be a parent and what they are expected to sacrifice for their children

Ted's arc revolved around Ted. And part of that, sure, was being a father. But it was also being a husband, and a friend, and a coach, and an individual person who is trying to move on from their trauma and mistakes and people pleasing needs and set boundaries and accept that they dont always have to be happy and optimistic 100% of the time and that its okay to be upset sometimes and

And if y'all have somehow missed that, then no wonder we have very different views on ted's ending

I purposefully didn't put out descriptions yet, because seeing I was making up as I went I didn't even know yet. Now I have a better grasp of them though, so under the cut and in no particular order:

Lucas Atwood - 23, history major. Lucas is the taller one of the team, at almost 6'3. He's strong, but lean, not all hard muscles because he's a football player, not a bodybuilder. White, dark brown wavy hair and big puppy green eyes. He looks like an American poster boy, a golden retriever if you will.

Vincenzo Monacelli - 23, history major. You guessed it, they met in class because Lucas & Vince share a brain. He's also very tall like Lucas, but much larger and stronger, with a chubby tummy. He's got an eternal scruff that hides his red cheeks. Italian af, with curly black hair, tanned white skin, chocolate eyes and thick brows. He looks much less friendly than Lucas, even though he's not menacing at all. Dresses like you googled "frat boy"

Isabella Martinez - 22, computer science major. She's half mexican, with olive skin, blue eyes that really get attention against her complexion, ginger very curly hair and a million freckles. She's strong and tall, but still stupidly short compared to Lucas. Bell loves rock, has perpetually smudged eyeliner and a chronic case of bitch face. She wants to get piercings.

Jonah Banks - 23, med student. Jonah's is easily the Pretty Boy of the group, but he's got an acute case of bitch face. He's black, with a mop of curls and shaved sides, very square jaw and hazel eyes. 6'2 and he's built af, health freak. Jonah's mom used to be a model and he got many many offers, much to his horror. He's a prep.

Leo Wagner - 24, law student. Leo is older than all the guys, but super baby faced. Pin straight very blonde hair, big blue eyes and a bunch of freckles. Just as tall as Jonah, but leaner, he's a runner. He's introverted and quiet. He's also more on the preppy side like Jon.

Wendy Marshall - 23, med student. She's short, 5'2ish, and very pretty. While Bell is hot, Wendy is the definition of dandy and pretty. She's got chin length wavy brown hair, heart shaped face with full cheeks, big hazel eyes and is all curvy, and chubby. Very very sarcastic, so she vibes with Jonah.

In no particular order, my thoughts on who might be seen in that all-important first-shot close-up in season 3:

Keeley (In my opinion, most likely. It feels like we’re only starting to scratch the surface of who Keeley is as a person in her own right - as opposed to Rebecca/Jamie/Roy’s support system - so I think most people would argue she’s next for a big character arc.)

Roy (Is another main character and clearly is Going Through Some Stuff in regards to his relationship anxieties with Keeley. It feels like he’s done a lot of character development already though, so may be less primed for a season-wide arc.)

The team as a whole (We’ve never been told the character growth for whoever is in the close up has to be one person, and quite frankly more focus solely on the himbos would make my year. It’s unlikely to happen, but what the hell.)

Jamie (He’s one of the key footballers, and I for one would like to see more of Jamie, particularly given that we didn’t seem to have much follow-up for the scene with his dad or his confession to Keeley. Handing the penalty over to Dani felt like a pretty concrete peak to his arc though.)

Sam (A lot of Sam’s plotlines - Dubai Air, Rebecca, Edwin - felt like they had rather shaky endings, so I’d love to see Sam in a more concrete arc. I loved the post floating around tumblr about Sam’s theme this season being that he’s constantly offered things that aren’t real, and in the end he chooses to do something real himself with the restaurant - so more follow up to that would be great.)

Colin (A long shot, but I can dream, can’t I? Quite frankly if I don’t find out why on earth Colin feels the need to tell himself he’s not a piece of shit, I will be sorely disappointed - plus as Billy Harris’ face journey during the Scene of Pain in Headspace showed, he definitely has the acting ability to take some more of the focus in season 3.)

Isaac (Similar to Colin - it’s a long shot, but we haven’t had nearly enough insight into the inner life of Richmond’s captain. This is a Renaissance Man who cuts hair, cites films, dresses like a Milan model and throws televisions all with equal panache, so quite frankly a good Isaac arc would be delightful.)

Jaan (I suspect this is unlikely compared to some of the longer-lasting characters...but someone else on here pointed out that they may be setting Jaan up for a leadership role in season 3 after his half-time speech, so I’m willing to be proved wrong.)

Higgins (Someone on here pointed out that if Higgins is the close-up of the season he’s likely to go through some emotional trauma - neither Rebecca or Nate exactly had it easy - and so while I would love more stories with Higgins as the focal point, I will only accept this if he goes from high to even higher with absolutely no harm coming to him or any of the family Higgins, please and thank you.)

Doctor Sharon (Similar to Jaan, she hasn’t been on the show for as long as some of the others and so I suspect won’t be the close-up victim...but still, she does have a ‘significant’ role to play next season!)

Coach Beard (I don’t think this is likely - his whole thing is being an enigma after all - but you never know, and it would be nice to get some more insight into Beard beyond his relationship with Ted.)

Rupert (No-one said the character arc had to be positive, did they? Look at Nate. I want him to go from bad to even worse and then get buried in absolute obscurity.)

The Pub Regulars (Will Baz ever get the anger management therapy he so dearly needs? Season 3 may provide the answers....)

DONE  DRUGS.   yes. her muggle psychiatrist recommended medical mar*juana to cope with the very rare night terrors. she tried it for a little while, and it worked, but she ultimately prefers the calming potions made by healer pye. she used sleeping draughts for a little while after the war (who didn’t), but she hasn’t used them since.

CHANGED  WHO  THEY  WERE  TO  FIT  IN.   no. part of the reason we read about her experiencing ostracization at school (through harry’s pov) was because she didn’t waver in her defense of marietta and was quite open with her emotions (although she ended up having to repress a large part of her grief and anger anyway). she’s very firm about sticking to her resolutions and not bending who she is in order to do that. (that might get slightly lost in romantic relationships, though.) in her moved-to-the-muggle-world verse, she definitely changes her external habits and way of living to blend in, but it’s not so much a change of her character or her person.

LAYER  008 :   SLEEP.

HEAVY  OR  LIGHT  SLEEPER.   light sleeper.

WHAT  SIDE  OF  THE  BED  DO  THEY  SLEEP  ON.   the right side— when she shares a bed with someone, it’s more comfortable for her to cuddle up to them if they’re on her left. in her divorced verse, she sleeps on whatever part of the bed the kids didn’t claim in the middle of the night.

WHAT  DO  THEY  WEAR  TO  BED.   old quidditch stuff— she has one or two ravenclaw scrimmage jerseys that are so old the house insignia’s already faded away. she also has endless tutshill tornadoes shirseys and tees that she’s worn and washed so often that the fabric’s become so soft now and is definitely susceptible to hem stitches unraveling. her favorite sleepwear combo is a pair of cotton boyshorts and to go braless under one of her oversized tutshill tees. comfortable— and as flattering and as easy access as possible, for those nights.

WEIRD  THINGS  THEY  DO  IN  THEIR  SLEEP.   she mumbles a lot sometimes.

LAYER  009 :   LOVE.

BIG  DECLARATIONS  OR  SMALL.   small, from her end, but she’s extremely appreciative (and only a little embarrassed) of big declarations toward her.

OPEN  OR  CLOSED  OFF.   open, although she wisely exercises caution with some people and thus becomes more closed off.

LOVE  AT  FIRST  SIGHT  OR  SLOW  BURN.   slow burn! this is also me, ess, exposing myself for my love of a good slow burn.

ONE  TRUE  LOVE  OR  A  STRING.   a string, but maybe it leads to comfortably settling into that true love. she definitely doesn’t believe that there is only and exactly one love out there for each person. that myth is a terrible and disheartening way to go about life, frankly.

I am Crying thank u so much thank u for Finally asking abt my ocs I have so many of them and I love them all so much so I’ll just sum up my few main ones and favorites (buckle up and also this whole story takes place in london as of now bc I’m uncreative):

Beckett (full name Beckett James Montgomery) is a happy little man who’s full of love and also a lot of chronic illnesses and other conditions. He just has really rough luck but he’s still pretty content with things. He’s working hard to overcome his shyness to set boundaries with others and he’s becoming a lot more confident in himself!! Of course losing a large portion of your childhood to illness and injury is pretty traumatic but he has a really solid support system. He loves his friends and is also very passionate about horticulture. And some other facts abt Beckett:

his favorite colour is pink (which is why his hair is pink throughout his teens and into his 20s but it’s naturally a mousy brown!)

he’s big gay

he’s a manlet (5'6")

he goes on to open up a plant nursery

he plays piano

his entire life is like 1/8th of a plan and 7/8ths of a prayer

Cherry Nova Griffin is a cool girl who’s super smart and just the raddest ever. She’s the older sister friend despite being the baby of her family bc she really really cares abt her friends and wants the best for them. She’s no square so she’s not gonna harsh anyone’s vibe but she is very sensible so u won’t go fucking yourself up on her watch bc she’s your voice of reason. This doesn’t mean she doesn’t partake in her friends foolishness, she just makes sure the foolishness goes smoothly. She’s super smart and very interested in science. She’s also pretty much always dressed to the nines (heavily influenced by her sister Azalea who’s a fashion icon). And some more facts abt Cherry:

her favorite colour is purple

her and elfie are the co-Just Dance™ wii champions of their friend group

she comes out as a lesbian in her 20s because that Internalized Home Of Phobia Tho

she’s 5 foot nothing she’s Small (she looks nothing like her two tall, rake thin older siblings)

her and Beckett are childhood friends, meeting when Beckett joined her class at school when they were both 7 or so

she’s always trying to prove herself to others but she has enough people around her that know how cool she is

Elfie Pepper (or Elfie Kiyoko Takemago-Pepper) is a fun, spritely Irish girl (her mom and biological father are Japanese but she was born in Ireland and raised there by her mom and now-stepdad). She’s super funny and very much the life of the party like she will always get u to chuckle. She can make any situation better just by being there bc she’s hilarious and rad. Her girlfriend is a super butch buff athlete but Elfie’s more often than not found eating lucky charms straight out of the box on her couch. She does like to skateboard tho and she’s pretty darn good at it. She’s the friend who makes all the playlists for driving/partying/chilling bc her music taste is universally liked (without her everyone would be fighting to play their own tunes she’s the peacemaker). Basically everyone likes Elfie. Now for The Facts:

she’s probably the rowdiest of the bunch. she’s like permanently cranked up to 100

Elfie is Big Lesbian

she’s a decent base player

her mom wanted to name her Kiyoko but let her hippie boyfriend pick the name Elfie for her

she moved to England when she was 12 and joined Beckett and Cherry’s squad then

She’s like 5'3" their whole squad is Tiny

Eleanor Lucille Atwin is the only one tall one in their squad. She’s 5'11" and the definite mom friend of Elfie, Cherry, and Beckett. She’s always got snacks and extra sweaters and pain medication and makeup wipes on her. She’s patient and caring and will have your back no matter what. You could indefinitely count on her in a crisis. Eleanor is also trans and has really been through it and still sometimes struggles with loving herself (not to mention dealing with transphobia) but she receives endless love and support from her friends. She’s good at painting and is always lookin super pretty. And some Eleanor facts:

she’s 20

she was born in Yukon, Canada

she joined the main group when she was 15

she’s prefers painting with watercolours

she marries her high school sweetheart (a ginger soccer/football player who’s like the only cishet guy involved in this story)

she goes on to become an interior designer bc she’s got rly good taste

Kimmo Alric Seppänen (23) is kind of a bitch, but he’s been through a Lot so it’s kind of expected. He had a really rough childhood where he was neglected severely by his parents before he was taken out of their house and placed with his adoptive parents who treated him super well and loved him a lot. He struggled a lot with fitting in and became really edgy in high school where he started dating Fredrik on and off. Then after school he had problems with addiction and did a lot of unhealthy shit but he eventually sorted it out. Now he’s living with Fredrik in London and they play in a band together (he still smokes like a pack a day). Kimmo is grumpy, and prone to lashing out, but he’s also a talented musician, wise beyond his years, and very dryly funny. He’s hard to get through to, but oddly lovable when you get to know him. And some Kimmo facts:

he was born and raised in Jyväskylä, Finland

he’s a killer guitarist and an adequate singer

he has a total of 12 piercings, most of which he got in his teens

he was diagnosed with Klinefelter’s syndrome in his early teens

he uses he/they pronouns and hes bi

his nose is crooked as shit from being broken several times

Fredrik Jeremiias Harmaajärvi is beefy and dumb. He’s the second oldest of 4 brothers. He’s like a big stupid golden retriever: cute and overall friendly, but kinda air-headed. He drinks too much (though he has captain america-level alcohol tolerance) and doesn’t notice many emotional cues from others, especially his emotionally unstable boyfriend Kimmo. When he was 21, he formed a band with some friends and Kimmo (his then ex-boyfriend whom he had newly reunited with). Kimmo and Fredrik moved to London after the band lost its two original members. Fredrik is easygoing and fun, but he has literally no brain cells. Some facts:

he’s a killer singer and an adequate guitar player

He’s also from Jyväskylä

His whole family is absolutely disgustingly beautiful (to his kinda ugly bfs dismay)

pure, unconcentrated himbo

His band is primarily punk/garage rock but Fredrik loves pop music

he’s also pretty into fitness and maintaining his image so he frequently goes to the gym (this is why he’s a big muscly Viking man)

Phoenix Delphinus Griffin is Cherry’s oldest sibling and he’s also a gem and a treasure. He’s a professional dancer and dance instructor. He’s 6'5" and all lanky, wirey muscle. He’s a laid-back, sociable guy who easily builds relationships with others. He acts super chill on the outside but he does struggle with pretty bad anxiety. He’s very fit and health conscious and is always up early to go to the gym or go for a run or drink a smoothie or whatever healthy people do. He has a number of large friend groups and is probably the most “popular” of all my ocs. And some facts abt him:

Phoenix has a phobia of drowning and is very uncomfortable with swimming in large bodies of water

he prefers contemporary ballet, but he’s trained in classical ballet and tap as well

he was once in a local production of cats the musical (he played macavity and plato due to his height and lack of singing required for the roles) and his friends won’t let him live it down

he’s bi

he dated the bassist in kimmo and fredrik’s band for a few months

he’s just a way friendly dude everyone loves him
