When you want to play with relics but Sith Dad (tm) says you have R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S, so you have to go to Makeb but you’re GOING to be grumpy about it. ...I don’t have any screenshots from the actual mission briefing FYI because I was too busy making offended gasps at being called “Lord Nox.” :’D

So I imagine that this wasn't done intentionally but I love the basic visual symbolism at the start vs the end of the Makeb expansion that the Wrath and Marr have. Also love the little arc that you can go through regarding your relationship with Marr.
When Marr first contacts you, he very clearly doesn't trust you and wants to see just how reasonable you may be when the interests of the Empire are at stake.
"If you are content to stand unchallenged, then so be it. But I would test your strength for the Empire's survival."
You are also seated while he is looking down on you and issuing his challenge. But then come the end you are both upright and even in some scenes eye level with each other, showing the the Wrath has taken a stand and chosen to do so alongside the Dark Councilor.
"Too many Sith, my old Master among them, have vied for power against the interests of the Empire. Too many Moffs have tolerated incompetence. The Empire must change and if we must stand on the precipice of death to do so, so be it."
"We stand as one."
IDK I just really enjoyed the progression from tentative allies that very clearly are not on the same page to standing together as one, determined to defend their people and civilization from all threats even if it means saving the Empire from itself.

Running around on Makeb with Torian and loving his little comments.
Like... What?! No, don’t just STOP there!!! I want to know more about your childhood on freakin’ Geonosis!!
Boy channels Corso Riggs here the way he says it like “WOO! Shoulda brought mah rifle!” and DAMMIT, Torian, WHY are you so ADORABLE???!
No special commentary, he’s just such a cutie.

Scourge's comments on Makeb
I sort of maybe get the tiniest inkling that Scourge POSSIBLY doesn't care for Hutts xD
A few more personal musings:
But the 'civilians' comment intrigues me. I wonder if he's trying to avoid civilian casualties, or if he's just observing that having civilians around will make it more chaotic and less straightforward, adding another unpredictable variable. I personally choose to interpret it as the former, if nothing else because Cas has rubbed off on him a little xD And Scourge has shown that he does learn and grow from being around the JK, so that would be an interesting development from the 'Cripple those you think possess information, kill the rest' from the class story. (Also he 100% says 'amongst' not 'among' which I LOVE. Let him sound a little archaic dammit!)
The 'used from orbit' comment is a fave just because like, Scourge, you sound positively aroused there (as much as he can), and Cas is over here like "alright a) why can't you sound like that when you're talking about ME, and b) which part of 'I spent the first part of my Jedi career tracking down and disarming a bunch of superweapons' did you not understand, we are NOT doing this again!"
#swtor#swtor gameplay#lord scourge#swtor scourge#makeb#rise of the hutt cartel#star wars the old republic#swtor companions#kem rambles#i started typing and realised i could delve into so much more speculation and headcanon but i curtailed myself for the moment

For the OC ask meme 🫡:
17, 26 & 30 for the characters of your choice! (And for 30, choose any of my OCs lol)
Hello, thank you for the ask! Apology for the delay. I'm gonna go with Ania for this question.
17. If your OC has kids, are they a good parent? Do they ever feel guilty if they have to leave them?
Ania has a daughter with Jadis. She's a good parent--a little protective and worrying about Naomi at times due to Ania's line of work and her past experiences. She's devoted to her daughter and slowly adapted to motherhood since she was born. When Ania leaves for a mission and no matter how safe Naomi was with Marr and Jadis, she always feel guility to be away from her.
Her mission to Makeb showed that. Kritanta promised her that she'll get her back to her daughter once the mission's achieved.
26) What flower do you associate your OC with?
Hm, I would say either a Calla lily for beauty or a Red Rose for love.
30) My OC and your OC are friends. This isn't a question. I'm not asking. (How do they respond?)
Honesty, I could totally see Jadis and Raeshen would get along so well with their bad bitch energy. They would judge any other Sith in their presence. I totally think Jazmyn and Tau would get along with fellow Jedi like your Maverik'a and Zarsh'a.

Fluffy February Day 6: Fire
SWTOR
Rating: PG, max, just Theron being a tiny bit mean to Koth and Lana (they're all friends here)
Pairing: Theron Shan/Eva Corolastor; Lana Beniko/Koth Vortena
Time: 3617 BBY/36 ATC
~~
For someone who liked rain a lot, some of Eva’s best memories centered around fires. Not the ones that were on the ship. The ones that were in gatherings and celebrations.
The one on Ord Mantell where they burned her bed after getting her ship (and Torchy) back from Skavak, freeing Bowie, and capturing the Crown of Dubrillion for Risha.
The one on Makeb, when they’d figured out the game and put a bet on Imperial greed and had a great party with the Ash Angel’s crew and two rival engineering corps.
The ones on Yavin 4, during the Galactic New Year Party and the last party – not as unregulated or as reckless as the others, but there were good memories as fireworks went off over the heads of Eva and Theron, drinks poured down gullets, and the buzz resulted in wonderfully sloppy kisses and unrestrained affection.
The one on Odessen, when the war itself was over and Eva was free and yet not. They were alive and alone and the warmth of the fire was only matched by Theron’s body heat.
The one again on Odessen when the gilded cage was shattered and Eva flew free of the hated title ‘Commander’ and ‘Voidhound,’ burning every vestige of those personages (but not the red silk robe Theron had given her).
…how could teaching two kids to roast marshmallows over a fire without killing themselves compare?
But it did.
“Now, you just leave that right alone til it gets nice and melty – little black is fine, but you’re aimin’ for an even cook.” Corso, along with shooting lessons, was a fine instructor in the art. Solemnly, Argo nodded and carefully rotated the stitck.
“Carmelization of the sugar,” Bowdaar clarified, as one clawed hand reached out to adjust the littlest Little Girl’s angle, so it wasn’t dipping down so far into the blue-hot core of the fire. “I think it’s done –”
And without warning, Dyo swung the incandescently hot ball of sugar right at Guss.
Fortunately, Guss had prepared for this. Sure, Risha had made a snide remark at the potholders, welding mask, and weaponsmithing apron he’d borrowed from Akaavi. She’d been shut up by the comment, “Oh, so you’re volunteering to help the feisty one put the marshmallow on the cracker?”
Guss clapped the sandwich, with a few chunks of chocolate, together, then extended the finished treat to Bowdaar, who delicately held it between two claws, high over his head.
That didn’t stop Dyo from trying to climb Bowie to get at it, but it certainly slowed her down from burning her mouth off.
Argo, as usual, was a little more placid than his sister. He carefully turned his stick toward Akaavi, who was brave enough to make his s’more for him. She easily put it on the flat side of a canteen to cool off.
Eva felt Theron’s arms tighten around her as they sat and watched in the cold autumn night on Odessen. All Souls was approaching, and Eva would have to make her rounds for her parents…
And it had been fifteen years since Eva’s release from carbonite. Tonight was cold, but Eva’s world – her life was so wonderfully warm. Not least because of the living radiator that was Theron Shan – his heart and his love that kept it all going.
And the crew and their love, which also transcended five years lost.
Just then, Risha nudged Eva’s free side with a thermos. “Hot apple cider, grown-up version.” Translation: shot of vanilla vodka included.
She crouched down between Argo and Dyo and carefully measured out equal little cupfuls in the metal camping cups. “Kid edition: just warm enough not to burn your mouth on this.”
“Thank you, Aunt Risha,” piped up Dyo, and Eva could see Risha visibly melt at the sound of that little voice. Especially when Dyo leaned into her auntie.
“Got more firewood.” Koth and Lana emerged from the general direction of the base’s woodpile. Camping grounds had long been demarcated for rec time, almost immediately upon arrival of the camping supplies fifteen years before as well.
Theron used his free arm to check his chrono. “That wasn’t long – pretty efficient, Koth.”
That had been long for just collecting firewood but given that Lana was around –
“Hey.” That was all Koth said to Theron in front of the kids, and Lana wore an appropriate shade of pink on her cheeks, not just from the cold.
Eva loved fires. Outside of her ship.

Thank you for the ask! I love talking about my boy!! <33
11. What time does your OC usually go to sleep?
Oh boy, this fool doesn’t sleep. Chronic eyebags haver, caf connoisseur. Depending on the workload for the day, anywhere from 2am to 5am.
It’s a constant back and forth between Theron trying to get Jed to go to bed, versus Theron being just as bad as he is — if not worse.
13. What's the worst thing your OC's ever done?
Looking back on all the crazy choices you can even make in this game… jesus christ.
Not sure if it’s one specific thing, or a conglomerate of terrible actions spiraling into one big mess. He’s got a pretty foul DS streak but Jed isn’t one for creating atrocities on a significant level - so no nuking Makeb or letting the reactor go off on Zakuul or anything like that.
He uh.. did use those satellites at the end of Chap. 1 agent story tho… my bad gang.. didn’t meant to kill 10,000 people (i did it for the vine)
His worst things come from those interpersonal relationships, like killing longtime “friend” Kaliyo point blank after luring her into a false sense of security right in front of everyone. Post Agent story he’s genuinely pretty good, if a bit manipulative.

i'm being so fucking normal about it (smuggler campaign as a post-imperial intelligence life for cipher nine). (no i'm not.)
not even nine, but it's easy to make that extra assumption when it's tyr i'm playing au barbie dolls with.
(this is your fair warning that this is a ramble + naturally agent & smuggler spoilers)
because there's something in tyr's relationship with ardun kothe i'm not sure i ever quite expounded on or explored, so brief sidetrack from the original thought i guess: tyr and ardun only work the way they do because they don't push in the utterly critical confrontation that is when kothe finds him on corellia. tyr is only allowed his fairly substantial amount of faith and trust in the man because kothe listens when tyr tells him about the star cabal, and doesn't try to arrest him anyway.
because as deep down as tyr's ideals go, as much as he wants that path to work for them, that 'job' of stopping the star cabal, of stopping hunter, was far, far too important to get sidetracked from breaking himself out of republic custody. if ardun kothe had insisted on taking him in, tyr would have been obligated to resist - not out of loyalty to the empire, exactly. he's well past that. but because he has a job to finish, and... it was too important to let anyone - anyone - stand in his way. which is that... depth to tyr's loyalty i don't think a lot of people get to see. because the ones that oppose him? one way or another, he usually finds his way through. and the ones that have stuck around to support him? tend to bring out the best in him. they haven't tended to put him in scenarios where he has to push against arguably long or even near-impossible odds.
but he will. because tyr doesn't know how to quit, really. he doesn't have a 'give up' bone in his body.
so, anyway. before i entirely lose my own plot. i bring up corellia then to point out, with myself and with tyr, tbh, that ardun kothe's offer of keeping legate 'on the team' over the black codex decision never is exactly... in writing. it's not an 'i'll pull you out of this' promise. it is very much ardun asking tyr to stay put in the empire. and maybe a career intelligence operative like himself should mistrust that, but he doesn't. someone that isn't tyr in that scenario might argue it's just a long game leaving nine in place as someone to take the fall when the sis inevitably needs the convenient scapegoat. hell, tyr might've made that argument for someone else if he was the outsider looking in. but he's not the outsider. he was there, and that's coloring his judgement of the situation. and the situation at the time is that tyr doesn't need ardun to promise him explicitly that this is a way out of the imperial noose. it's enough to be fighting for a cause he actually believes in again, even if the banner colors are still a bit unsettling.
but in the long run? nine's not exactly wanted in either side. i love interpreting the makeb mission with tyr at its head as a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' borderline suicide assignment. the empire's there to be interested in makeb because of intelligence gathered by the last dregs of imperial intelligence before it was gutted like a fish and scrapped for parts, so send one of the ex-ciphers you still have a close eye on, that you think is still under the dark council's thumb, if need be. if he fails, if the team fails, yes the empire loses a critically needed edge in the war, but it's also an incredibly convenient way to get rid of an operative that's been testing the limits of their displeasure for several years now, that the dark council already once threatened to eliminate. if he succeeds, great, the empire benefits, he lives by the slim mercy of marr's continued tolerance of his service.
but ardun kothe's sis team didn't act with a lot of oversight. it's a safety risk to have 'cipher nine' attached to anything that benefited the republic. it's the reason the ruse of double agent can still stick and be useful, but it also means nine's reputation to the republic is still one of the empire's top agents, one of the republic's most wanted enemies.
in the long run of things, does cipher nine have a place on either side of this war? what the hell's a cipher without the imperial intelligence that made them?
so every so often i still marinate in how delightful it was to play with all of that as sort of background context dropping him in the smuggler campaign. tyr was once nearly a trained pilot of the imperial navy before he was tapped for intelligence, after all. flying's one of his secret joys in life, if you will. and, sure, the titular smuggler ends up in a republic-leaning alliance anyway, but the smuggler can afford to answer to themselves first and foremost, if they so choose. there's a kind of agency of your own fate there that's absolutely breathtaking for an ex-agent. it would be a little liberating to say you're not in it for a side, wouldn't it? and what's so entirely different about making calls on these kinds of jobs as it was as an agent?
it's... out. at least for a little while. what if, for once... he allowed himself 'out' being as 'simple' as taking on another job? scrub the kaasi accent for a rainy day, fall back to something a little more roaming and pockmarked with blaster fire that served him well as the red blade on hutta, or a prison breaker on belsavis? pick a new name and just. go. an agent like him has a fair amount of skills that'd benefit a smuggler to begin with.
and then the republic's eventual encroaching involvement and alliances adds something even more deep and complex. this is the kind of freedom he personally fought for. he knows what the ideals look like on paper. he's not blind; every system has its flaws, but he still believes it's lightyears improved than tangling with the fickle whims of sith every day. at least when he gambles with his life as a smuggler, it's more or less on terms he himself designated with his own information on the table.
but then it turns out the senator that orchestrated a lot of these more republic-aligned jobs sold out to the empire. and that 'old friend' you and one of your long-time companions trusted was also an imperial agent playing at double.
and you didn't see it coming. the problem was right underneath your nose, and you still danced to their music. everything you told yourself you'd given up, everything you'd promised yourself you'd get away from - that determination not to just be a cog in the machine again.
and you didn't see it. how painfully obvious in hindsight. you should've known better. you know how this game is played. why weren't you looking? why'd you ever let yourself fall for the sense of security that maybe, just maybe, this was all working?
sure, not without its own misadventures, but you were prepared. you know how to take care of yourself, after all.
and so the betrayal cuts all the deeper. not that it seems your new enemies know (thank the stars they don't know, else this would-be sanctuary would be all the more a house of cards, ready to be swept away from you again). it's personal. maybe even more than it is about those ideals on paper republic senators spend their careers debating about.
and it's so delicious! god... and managing to hold onto that? managing to keep fighting for it? to keep it, after such a near fall? because tyr oliver (now, that's who you are now. just as genuine as the first) doesn't know how to quit. especially not when things count.
#dot talk#ougghgh. ur honor i love him...#i love you smuggy au..#ch: tyr#vs: king and lionheart [smuggler!tyr]#imperial agent#swtor smuggler#i think. i need to do an official replay again. once the updates are out

5 and 15 for Vada!
thanks so much for the ask, these were fun to answer :]
5. Tell us something that your character finds sweet!
Oh, I don‘t think i can say just one here, so let me think…
Something recent - Lana calls you „my love“ at one point, which I think absolutely melted Vada‘s heart right on the spot. I think she doesn’t usually give her partners pet names, but loves getting called by one. (I think Lana learns quickly not to call her that during a battle again.)
Also anytime Jorgan does things that show he clearly cares about something or someone but he just won‘t admit it. The both of them are very similar here, but will still tease the other for being a softie while knowing that they themselves are a softie as well.
15. Who does your character look up to? Who do they despise?
This is a fun one. Alright, let’s see. She doesn’t quite look up to her, seeing as they’re partners, but the person she currently admires the most in her life is Elara Dorne. Her courage, kindness and principled nature are things Vada loves and strifes to embody herself as well.
Her father, Jean, a little bit too. They have a complicated relationship but she has a lot of respect for him still.
General Garza also gets a place here. Vada always looked up to her while under her command, and though she didn’t agree with everything she did, she liked serving under her a lot. That only made it all the more painful when she decided to be steadfast and speak out against Garza in court - she knew it was right, but hated doing it anyways.
Honorable mention to Jace Malcolm: She idolised him a lot when she was younger, and was still a little shocked and excited when she first met him in the briefing for the Makeb mission.
Now on to who she despises - and this is interesting because Vada really doesn’t hate anyone easily, and even if she does, she doesn’t usually seek a conflict/revenge. But the one person Vada wants to see dead, the one person she wants to see destroyed and punished for everything they have done, would be Valkorion. She holds absolutely no sympathies for him and will do anything, absolutely anything to see him gone forever. Currently she‘s okay with just annoying him whenever possible.
A huge step down from that already is General Rakton, who gets to be here because he made Vada‘s life hell after Havoc took out the Gauntlet and caused Jaxo‘s death, and the game I think implies that she was chosen to be let out specifically because Rakton knew she had a connection with the trooper. Vada may have let him live and let Saresh return him to the Empire, but she hated every single second of it.
Honorable mentions go to the SIS guy from Jorgan‘s companion mission and Tanno Vik. Not the same kind of hate here, but there’s no better way to make Vada‘s blood boil than to show disregard for fellow soldiers!
Link to the ask game :]

4, 5, 8 and 9 for Veira from Role-play Interview? (I know you only recently made Veira, but they look so cool, and I'd love to learn more about them <3)
thanks, Pauletta!! 💚💜 this was actually Super helpful in figuring out some more about them, so really enjoyed working on it :D
[roleplay interview ask game]
(they were born around 0 ATC, give or take; answering this as if around...Makeb-ish arc? so 15-ish)
4. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
They look thoughtful for a moment, eyes narrowing as the question mills about their head. With one hand finding their chin, they merely offer a shrug. "I...don't know. I grew up raised by Sith, trained by my parents even if I wouldn't be allowed to train on Korriban - at the time, of course, fortunately it changed by the time I was old enough. But I could still dream, hmm? What aspiring Sith wouldn't dream - at least from time-to-time - of rising to the Dark Council? Because I certainly did."
A sound akin to a laugh huffs from behind their mask. "...But sometimes, I daydreamed how grand it would be to become a moff, were it possible. Not...that I'd wish to be one, now. It's not as glorious as I'd been led to believe as a child. Moffs are... They can be difficult, to put it mildly."
5. Do you have any role models? Tell us a little bit about them.
They look away a moment, roll their eyes, then mutter, "Is it sappy to say my parents? They took me in as a baby when I was unwelcome for whatever bullshit views the Chiss have - and," they laugh a little, "taught me how to use a sharp tongue against xenophobic morons. They taught me what it is to be a proud Sith and Imperial."
Veira flexes their fingers, admiring painted nails. "Even as they had to get used to the whole 'they' thing and ignore the biting remarks of superiors for having an alien child, they're wonderful. Oh, and Mother was very pleased to teach me makeup - how else could I do this eyeliner?" And...well. They wouldn't get into Father punching a fellow Lord over something about them; it was a sight to behold, and they still laugh when they remember it (even if it makes Father grumble irritably).
8. What do you like to do for fun?
The question makes their eyes light up, and for a moment their youth is put on the forefront as they lean forward with a grin so obvious that their mask does little to hide it. The glint in their eyes suggests only mischief. "Have you ever thrown oro bird eggs at a Darth's parked speeder? Don't hang around after, but placing a camera or two nearby to capture the reaction for you? Priceless."
9. What’s your greatest achievement? Why do you consider this your greatest achievement?
"I'm fortunate to be accepted as part of Lord Wrath's powerbase. She's incredibly powerful, and ensures that her allies don't want for better." They hum, tapping at their chin.
"...But that doesn't count much, does it? I...admit that I'm still young, and haven't achieved much, yet. But surviving Korriban, and receiving a master? I suppose I was lucky to be made Lord Xandosc's apprentice." Their eyes brighten. "I hope to be a lord soon."

fashionably late but Xaele for the outift designer meme?? 👀
Time is a concept anyway, you cannot be late to send me asks!
Seriously though, I love you for doing this a lot <3
Xaele has 6 outfits (well, 8 actually, but the other two are winter clothing and prisoner cover, and I'm not sure if they are worth showing).
This is their uniform, usually worn to Imperial Intelligence meetings and other official business that doesn't involve working in the field.
Pieces:
Weapon - DLA-13 heavy blaster rifle with red color crystal; Chest - Mullinine Onslaught jacket; primary black dye; colors unified; Hands - Mythran gloves; Wrists - Mythran Hunter bracers; Waist - Remnant Resurrected Knight belt; Legs - Force Apprentice pants; Feet - Skiff Guard boots.
Here is one of the two outfits Xaele wears in the field in the agent storyline. This one is used when there's no need to cover her face.
Pieces:
Weapon - DLA-13 heavy blaster rifle with red color crystal; Chest - Remnant Underworld Agent chestpiece; secondary medium gray dye; colors unified; Hands - Remnant Dreadguard Agent gloves; Wrists - small bracers, not visible; Waist - Remnant Yavin Agent belt; Legs - Frontline Slicer pants; Feet - Remnant Underworld Agent boots.
Now this is the other field outfit that includes a hood and a helmet to cover the face.
Pieces:
Weapon - Aratech Advanced blaster rifle; Head - Inscrutable Pursuer facemask; Chest - Belsavis Agent chestpiece; primary black dye, colors not unified; Hands - Intelligence Agent gloves (unified); Wrists - small bracers, not visible; Waist - Frontline Slicer belt (not unified); Legs - Bounty Tracker leggings; secondary black dye; Feet - Frontline Slicer boots (not unified).
When Xaele erases all records about their existence in the end of the agent storyline, they change clothing. This set is usually worn to missions where their imperial ties don't need to be hidden (say if imperial authority is required for a mission, like the mission on Kaon). There is a helmeted version, but unfortunately it's now permanently hidden bc of preferred status (maybe I'll make a copy later).
Pieces:
Weapon - Primordial blaster rifle; Set - Intelligence Agent armor set; primary black dye; colors unified.
But Xaele still needed at least one cover without imperial ties for more covert operations, like on Makeb. This set is an attempt to resemble some sort of nobility (still working on exact details of this cover), so the first impression wouldn't be "Imp!". While it may not look suited for combat, Xaele has a bunch of hidden weapons and tools (knife, darts, blaster pistol, etc.).
One significant difference from the in-game outfit and what I imagine is that Xaele doesn't use a rifle, instead hiding a small blaster pistol, so the threat from them isn't so obvious.
(also I just wanted to give the new nightlife set to one of my characters)
Pieces:
Weapon - Royal blaster rifle; Chest - High Roller chestpiece; secondary pale brown dye; colors unified; Hands - Onderonian Targeter (tier 3) gloves (ones from 6.0); Wrists - small bracers, not visible; Waist - Zakuulan Security belt; Legs - High Roller pants; Feet - Onderonian Targeter (tier 3) boots.
The newest outfit at the moment, that Xaele wears after joining the Alliance. I had another outfit in mind, but I cannot buy it, so this is an affordable alternative. In the Alliance Xaele gets rid of many Imperial ties, including the choice of clothes.
Pieces:
Weapon - Grantek blaster rifle; Chest - Duststorm Survivor chestpiece; primary black dye; colors unified; Hands - Freelance Hunter gloves; Wrists - Shadow Initiate bracers; Waist - Duststorm Survivor belt; Legs - G.A.M.E. Security pants; Feet - Remote Outcast boots.
#swtor#ask game#oc:xaele#palepinkycat#funnily enough if you sent me this ask when i just reblogged it i'd have 4 outfits to show not 6#the bottom 2 i put together just during last two weeks
