New Colors

Ahhh thanks so much for requesting! :D I went with they couldn’t see a certain color/actually colorblind with this one, but I’m not colorblind, so I hope it’s ok > < Please do correct me on anything though!

Sorry it’s so short ;A; I think Itaru and Izumi would be pretty laid-back so once they realize they’re each other’s soulmates not terribly much will change. I started writing general IzuIta HCs so I had to stop LOL 😂 I’ll post those separately at some point :3 Hope you enjoy!

It happens gradually, colors they once couldn’t distinguish are visible

Itaru notices eventually as he realizes he’s seeing shades he never did before

Gains new favorite characters and game designs because of this

Izumi notices only because someone points out that she’s selecting between the two colors

Both struggle a bit trying to figure out who they might’ve met because they’ve met so many people on Veludo Way

Itaru’s pretty blase about it -curious, but not that bothered if he’s completely missed his soulmate because they’d likely cut in to his gaming time

Izumi, on the other hand, freaks out. What if they were just a passerby on the street? What if she never sees them again? When did she start seeing the color??? She can’t remember, oh gosh how long has it been since then????

But once both are aware of the change, they quickly figure out who their soulmate is

Helps that they have 5+ others in the company that can assist/point it out

Probably comes to light because of Citron or Sakuya tbh

Damage control with Masumi required. He is devastated. Izumi’s probably relieved though

Overall, probably not terribly different from canon interactions since they already live together and both have their own rooms (for now). They’re also already established adults with routines and livelihoods, so navigating that they’re both soulmates isn’t that disruptive to them or their pre-established dynamic

The two of them spend time admiring new colors together

They accessorize in the new color(s)

Izumi’s spice labels

Itaru console cases

Ties/socks

Jewelry

If they both were previously unable to see the same color (e.g. both couldn’t see red)

They reminisce over the time they couldn’t see the color and go on dates to see/admire the new color

Kind of like Misumi’s triangle hunts but with this color and it’s shades

They have an inside joke where they’ll call the new color by the old color’s name

Except they’ll also do this in front of others

Kazunari and Yuki are begging them to stop

They have a new shade of the month

Favorite color for them both

If they were unable to see different colors (e.g. Izumi couldn’t see red and Itaru couldn’t see blue)

Would seek out new shades for the other and watch their reactions

Teach each other about the various shade names and grow to appreciate the colors more

Get each other gifts in their respective newly seen colors
