I love how Jack Vessalius (Pandora Hearts) and Otto Apocalypse (Honkai Impact) have strong resemblance as character. I love them both.

Both have pretty long blond hair with emerald eyes. They are both considered beautiful men in their story.

Antagonist in their own story. Jack introduced himself as a hero of a tragedy but turns out he’s the mastermind of the tragedy. Both are very manipulative. As for Otto, he’s not only a mad scientist and inventor but also a war criminal. Millions of people died because of his scheme so I guess he might be worse than Jack? But Jack is also awful for betraying his best friend and taking advantage of two children close to him to do insane stuff so lol I say he’s also terrible in his own way.

Their motivation in their action revolves around a deceased woman who has a big impact in their pathetic life. I believe they both care about the woman in “not romantic” sense. In Jack’s case, it was Lacie Baskerville. Jack is a prostitute’s son but his father is a noble and later found by the cynical cursed child, Lacie when she sneak out from the house once. Jack witnessed Lacie killing with her Chain(monster from the abyss) in their first meeting and later taught Jack that its okay to do bad things to survive such as selling yourself as prostitute, stealing etc. When Lacie died and was thrown into the abyss, Jack planned to drag Sabrie(place) into abyss for Lacie resulting people might turn into Chains because of abyss but Lacie’s brother, Oswald Baskerville stopped that by ordering his men to murder the people first before the place fell into abyss. To Jack, Lacie is his reason to live and his twisted desperate obsession. In Otto’s case, it was Kallen Kaslana. Otto is a son of the noble but he was neglected just because he’s sickly and they think he’s useless to be an heir. Only Kallen praise his usefulness in sincere manner and because of that simple genuine gesture, Otto treasure it greatly. Otto became kinda obsessed in making himself do productive things for her without her permission resulting him conducting human experiments. Kallen was furious when she found out about it and later she died protecting people. Otto felt a big hole inside of him after she died so he became obsessed in making clones of Kallen and reviving her in whatever means. 

They are interested in monster beings for their goals. Jack became interested in Chains from the Abyss even tho its a taboo topic. An outsider like him can’t ask the Baskerville about it. He befriended so many people related to Baskerville and manipulate them to get closer to forbidden abyss. As for Otto, this man is obsessed in Honkai creatures and willing to do horrible human experiment for it. He believe his research will help Kallen to save the others. 

They both have other characters that look like them. The Pandora Hearts protagonist, Oz Vessalius’ body is actually Jack’s but the soul is from Alice Baskerville’s rabbit Chain, Oz. Jack manipulated Alice and Oz before he regressed in younger form and slowly lose his power in his own body. Void Archives borrowed Otto’s look for his humanoid form. Both Void Archives and Oz the Chain are weapons used by Jack and Otto. They originally don’t have human form. 

Both have signature accessories they carry. Otto known as Luocha in 7 Swords VN carries a cross in his hand and a coffin in his back just like Luocha in Honkai Star Rail. Jack carries a pocket watch with Lacie’s theme song in it. He don’t carry a coffin but Lacie’s tomb was shown multiple times in Pandora Hearts that its heavily connected to Jack’s motive. Both of them have emerald earrings too!

Both of them have terrifying surnames lol. Otto has Apocalypse while Jack’s Vessalius is probably derived from the word “Bizarre”. In Japanese, Jack’s surname is pronounced as “Bezariusu”.

Their whole existence terrified people. Glen describe Jack as someone that make his skin crawl and an empty shallow man. The bandit that tried to robbed Otto’s caravan in VN became terrified at him just with his glare after the bandit ordered him to open the coffin. Hence, he received the demon (Luocha, Raksha) nickname in his stay in Shenzhou. 

Both of them don’t find any importance in their own life and willing to sacrifice it for their goals. Jack was seen selling his own body to nobles like a prostitute so that he can meet Lacie one day. Otto is willing to sacrifice his own life to revive Kallen’s father and finally sacrificed his life to revive Kallen.

A Frayed Knot by Devcipher (Teen And Up, Complete)

Blue has recently begun traveling with his friends in their newly formed group; The Star Sanses. Blue had heard stories from Ink and Dream (mainly Ink) about the cruel, multiversal destructor that was Error. Blue has always taken the threat of such a monster very seriously. However, when he first comes face-to-face with the destroyer, he notices something the others have perhaps overlooked. His behaviour was over the top and certainly dangerous, but... it seemed a little lackluster for a supposed heartless villain.

A short fic that features Blue as the main character! I chose this fic in particular because I haven't recommended very many fics more focused on any of the Star Sanses recently.

I enjoy the way that the author portrays the characters, & I think the concept is interesting. I don't recall reading a story that tackles the scenario the way this one does.

Spoilers ahead!

I love the relationship between Error & Blue, though I'm also just a sucker for overpowered characters who only listen to one person. We can clearly see through Error's actions how much he cares for Blue, & how Blue comes to care about Error.

The interaction between the Stars near the end is also very funny to me, the author calling Ink a drama queen is hilarious after an emotion packed scene beforehand.

The scene at the very end is amusing as well, & the two not knowing how to react to Swap being taken is understandable.
