The first thing I decided to do in 2024 was to finish the drawings that I didn’t have time to finish in 2023. I don’t have many of those: these are sketches of Robbie’s parents, who will appear in the Afterlife fanfic.
Tumblr media
Meet Robbie's father, Khariton. He moved to Kakariko Village as soon as he learned that scientists were living there, studying ancient technologies and creating new ones. In his native village, Khariton was considered an eccentric and even dangerous to society, so the young inventor did not think long about moving.
Khariton became a mentor for Purah. It was him who helped her learn all about Sheikah technologies and fall in love with science in general. Robbie often accompanied Purah during classes, which is how they became friends.

And this is Robbie's mother, Hera (yes, I named her after a Greek goddess because I felt like it). She met Khariton when he demonstrated his next invention to the whole village. Hera fell in love with the newly arrived scientist for his intelligence, loyalty, and excellent sense of humor. However, when their son was born, the woman realized that her husband was putting the child’s life in danger by continuing to carry out his experiments. Unfortunately, the situation worsened when Robbie grew up because he became interested in his father's activities and wanted to help him.

Post!Breath of the Wild Headcanons
What I think happens after the end of Breath of the Wild is going crazy in my head, so I need to write all of these down.
-”Link, going around on foot is getting harder to do.” Link then shows her the royal horse descendant. Zelda is super emotional about something from the Royal Family lasting the century.
-when they do go to see Mipha’s Dad--he’s all glad because his daughter is finally able to move on. Mentioning the betrothal Zora Armor makes Link panic and makes Zelda go “ahhhhhh now that makes sense.” she gives him some space.
-not to mention Sidon being all about Link also making Zelda question if Link would actually like to go ahead and stay there. He’s more than earned it. Links says no.
-they start looking for new champions for the guardians. There’s debate about whether it’s good idea to keep the guardians or bury them deep again. (there’s a reason they were buried and why did they trust a fortune teller anyway?) but regardless, someone needs to be able to move this giant hunks of stone at the current moment anyway (for the Rito’s sake at least)
-also why Ruto stopped working, so Sidon is now in charge of it. Zelda spends lots of time helping him with the information she learned from last time. Being the new guardian makes Sidon feel closer to his sister. Ruto is first, and then they go find the new guardians for each race with the obvious answers.
-Riji is super cute about becoming the new guardian. She’s young, but she’s got the thunder helm and magic to help. It’s sort of a team effort with her own guardians. Riji and Zelda aren’t as close as Urbosa. (Riji feels like she needs to overdo it to prove herself, but Zelda is happy for a new female friend)
-not to mention the adorableness of Link wearing his Vai clothes for the first time and Zelda is all about it. Riji lets him enter as a Voe afterwards, saying she just wanted to mess with him and is surprised that he went along with it for so long.
-mostly, they stay in inns or stables, but one day Zelda expresses that she needs time to herself. Link shows her his house and leaves her to it. He returns to hear her crying and busts in to see her at the kitchen table crying and just holds her, not saying a word. They agree that Link’s house is now Zelda’s house. Everyone needs space to decompress.
-Link is still mostly silent, but starts to tell Zelda about all of the ridiculous side quests he had to go on during his time after waking. Especially the one where the girl wanted to see the hero and then she was like eh. Zelda gets a kick out of that.
-they call for meeting of tribes leaders - the Zora’s, the Goron’s, the Geurudo, the Rito, the Shiekah, the Hylians, the fishing town too. Zelda goes to the Deku tree for advice often too. He seems to like that. People can’t seem to agree on the guardians, but the smaller machines need to go. They weren’t helpful at all. Robbie is real sad about it. The Shrines were important, Link admits, maybe they should make more. Zelda writes down everything about the sealing magic. She doesn’t want anyone to end like her.
-eventually, Link and Zelda return to the castle. Link shows her the Kings’ study and his diary and leaves her there for a while. When he returns, she gives him a big hug.
-They get to Zelda’s room and she remembers her diary. “Did you read it??” Link doesn’t say anything, but like obviously. She reads through it and grows red. She doesn’t talk to him for a while. He goes to her study in the meanwhile.
-The Hylians that are left have to discuss if they want to rebuild Hyrule Castle and castle town. Right now, most people are settled into their new lives and don’t want to rebuild Castle Town. Zelda says that’s fine. She tells Link later that she wants to preserve the castle. It will take years to rebuild (Links remembers a certain construction crew for the job though) and in the meanwhile they go to the castle to find the important things and put them somewhere safe. (with the Zora’s seems to be the best idea, but the water damage would also be bad).
-now that the castle is no longer evil, tons of dudes try to ransack the castle, so Link starts a new Knight’s guards. And Zelda secretly uses just a few of the guardians. oops.
-through time spend together, Link and Zelda grow close. Link has always considered her precious and it turned into love smoothly (being chosen as her Knight was a big deal in more than one way). Zelda was crushing it moreso, but the 100 years of fighting kind of made her emotional stunted. She relearns how to be human and to love him like a human over the course of the Reconstruction Years. Lovey love.
-also hollah that the Blood Moon stops and the people of Hyrule finally get a chance to fight back and go back to normal.
