I get why it happened but nothing has made it more glaring how people refer to men in power vs women in power than kamala harris...... like it's smth every gender studies professor will beat into your skull by week 1 but most people don't even think about but like

if you're referring to "trump" or "biden" or "obama" in serious conversations and never just "donald" or "joe" or "barack" let's all take a moment and Rework our vocabulary to say harris or kamala harris instead of just "kamala"

if trump gets his policy proposals blunted by having a really narrow majority in the house i do not relish having to see all the takes about how trump is actually a "pretty normal republican" or how "trump isn't/wasn't that bad, libs were just panicking for no reason." i think if you have genuinely awful policy proposals, and you fail to get them enacted because you're too incompetent or because congress stops you, you shouldn't get credit for it.

i remember having an argument with my mother during the obama years where she (a very Median Voter-brained type person with a tendency to both-sides everything) thought obama was a bad president because republicans hated him, and a good president would be able to work with congress. which... maybe? but republicans clearly were not dealing with obama in good faith, and i think if you're obstructing good policy for stupid reasons, you should get the political/moral blame. i think the reverse is true as well. i think trump 1.0 got way too much credit vs the generic republican replacement because his incompetence hindered his malice.
