Mothclan had a change of leadership recently, so here are the lovely ladies who took over:

Macstar was already quite old when she became leader so after a few moons Oakstar was granted 9 lives (Oakstar is the same cat as Oakcrawl from the previous drawing dump btw)

some of my clangen cats! rainfoot was duststar's deputy before retiring, and brindlelake was a medicine cat - for a very long time too. duskheart was in the medicine den all the time, especially when he was younger x_x (one of his traits is troublesome though so like. maybe that's why lol)

lightsmoke and wetwhisker were mates, but then lightsmoke died and wetwhisker eventually moved on and found logtail, and they became mates. then they and a bunch of my other cats (including ficklepatch) got murdered in a big battle </3

there's still quite a few more cats i'd like to draw, we'll see if i end up getting around to it.

Okay im actually not sure how i wanna go about writing stuff for this clan cuz nothing interesting happens with our POVs really but also I have a LOT of story to tell here...so idk maybe ill go find someone to help me write stuff and this will be a group project

In the meantime, im working on making a google sheet for all the cat refs and Allegiances and so i screenshotted the Allegiances in game so i could have them and all the cats names and genders and it took ELEVEN SCREENSHOTS. We have so many cats (but im too scared to turn on extinction events)

Ohoho Robins with glow in the dark patterns across their costumes so their Moth-dad can always find them and glitter that gets everywhere to piss off the goons. (the inside of B's cloak now looks like shimmering galaxies if the light hits it right thanks to this) Colorful zipping lights that disappear under the wings of their father like they were mere hallucinations.

And then as they take to their own territories, at first the city thinks they've lost all color until their own cloaks open and they shimmer and glitter like living stars under the cloudy moon.

Would the robins still be robins? Who knows.

Mothman is definitely fluffier and might be seen less often than canon batman but honestly who knows.

I do want to say that the robins are based off of other moths and butterflies whenever they start doing their own thing.

Welcome to the Freezing Wastes

This account will be delving into the tales of the five split clans: Frozenclan, Mothclan, Lilacclan, Trickleclan, and Hushclan.

General Settings

No resetting moons; whatever happens, happens.

Whenever a clan reaches 50 or more cats, I will either activate mass extinction events or do death rolls. I will make a poll to decide on which each time.

None of the clans have automatic deputy choosing on.

The relationship settings that allow first cousins and mentors and apprentices to be mates are turned off for every clan.

Experience based graduation is enabled, and apprentices will have to complete a "trial" before earning their names. These "trials" will be based on dice rolls or lone patrol outcomes depending on the clan.

Additions

The drawings will be separated by weeks, so at least four drawings per moon. If nothing of note happened, I will check the thoughts of the cats to ensure there are still drawings.

On the end of the second week of the moon, the spiritualist of the clan must go to Sun's Landing, their spiritual site, to meet with the other spiritualists, lest they begin to lose faith. As they lose faith, so do the other members of the clan, and each half-moon they go without meeting with the other spiritualists, another non-spiritualist in the clan will lose faith. If all the cats in a clan lose faith, the clan will disband, and be lost.

On the end of the fourth week of the moon, the clans will gather together at Dawnclan's old camp to socialize and ensure that the other clans are still around. If a clan has disbanded, all of the other clans will have a random number rolled, that can be up to half of their total population, that will indicate how many cats in one of the remaining clans have lost faith. All clans roll for this, aside from Hushclan, even though the other clans will roll faith loss for Hushclan's disbandment if it happens.

Each week, the healthy cats must go on at least two hunting patrols. If they are unable to do so, I will generate a number equivalent to the number of cats in the clan to see how many go hungry. If a cat who is a kitten, a sick cat, or a senior goes hungry for 3 times, they have a 50/50 chance of dying for each consecutive week that they continue to go hungry. Otherwise, it will take 5 times of going hungry for starvation rolls to start. If a monarch with kits younger than 2 moons goes hungry, their kits will begin to go hungry as well. Additionally, if there are no nursing cats while there are kits under 2 moons of age, they will go hungry regardless of hunting rolls.

If a cat with short fur joins or is born into the clan, they will have a d20 rolled for them each moon. If it is below 10, they will get hypothermia, below 5, they get frostbite, and if they roll a 1, they will freeze to death. In "greenleaf", 5 is hypothermia and 1 is frostbite, with no possibility of death by freezing.

This eternal cold... Something about it isn't natural. There is a chance for outsiders or non-founder kits to have something strange about them. They may not even be cats at all.

The herbalist of the clan will need to have at least one non-healing role cat to accompany them while they gather herbs, to ensure they get back safely. If there is nobody who can accompany the herbalist, there is a chance that they might go missing in the snowy wasteland...

The Beginning of the Story (The Ever-Creeping Freeze)

We’re going to name our clan MothClan simply because Mothwing is my favorite character and is currently my profile pic.  I also like the image of a duskily lit pine forest with brown moths flying around here and there.

If it’s okay to ask can we know more about Mothclan?

Like what exactly happened to drop from 20 to *3* cats? And has there been any particular drama or funny events?

Again this is only if you want to answer, but I want to know more.

There might be mentions of blood and death below so beware of that

So what actually happened to Mothclan?

It was first established by Lichenstar and it quickly grew to be a powerful clan of around 20 cats. For the first 30 moons there was peace but it couldn't stay that way.

Soon patrols were getting killed en masse, which ravaged Mothclan's population. Most experienced cats died along with the deputy which forced Lichenstar to choose an unqualified cat for the position.

Eventually a large fire destroyed half of the camp and it's inhabitants along with Lichenstar, who tragically lost all his lives saving his clanmates from the flames.

Survivors, sick with greencough and demoralized from the deaths of their families welcomed a new leader - Tinystar, not fully prepared to be leader. Most of the sick cats died as well leaving only Tinystar, her mate Pheasantnibble and a warrior turned medicine cat whose name has been lost to time.

After roughly 50 moons the clan gained back most of it's cats, through welcoming Tinystar's two litters as well as loners and kittypets joining the clan.

Even after that outsiders' attacks persisted and a massive flood swept through the camp, eventually leaving Boughstar, the daughter of Tinystar as the next leader.

I'm going to put MothClan's Descent on hiatus for July, since I want to do Artfight, have a trip at an unknown time, and don't have a backlog at the moment. I'll most likely resume posting on August 3rd, but it may be the 10th that I start posting again due to not having a backlog. Sorry about that, but @wintrii-shadows will still be posting most of my Artfight attacks and whatever else I do!

Blizzardkit/Blizzardrunner is a she-cat from MothClan. Her family is currently a WIP (though I have a character in mind that might become her sister), and her mentor was Rainrun, an OC owned by my good friend @sourshade-paws​ (I asked her permission first of course). 

Speaking of Rainrun, she was also Blizzardrunner’s idol, especially when she was a kit. Sometime as a kit, she snuck out of camp and got lost exploring the MothClan territory. Rainrun saw her and escorted her back to the camp, letting her off with a warning. Since then, the young cat looked up to the older she-cat and wanted to follow her everywhere. Luckily for her, she got that chance when the Clan leader Icestar named Rainrun as her mentor. Like any young soul, she often annoyed her mentor more than she wanted to. 

Of course she grew out of it as she got older, but she still wanted to maintain a steady relationship with her role model. It got to the point where she would begin to describe the older cat as her big sister. She payed very close attention to everything Rain taught her, and she kept her lessons with her through warriorhood as well. That was one of the reasons Icestar decided to give her the warrior name “Blizzardrunner”.

Admittedly, her warrior name was suggested by my friend (the same person who owns Rainrun) along with other suffixes, because I couldnt think of any, and the suffix probably didn’t have that might thought put into them from my friend’s perspective. But you know, when your warrior cat OC’s suffix is pretty similar to another OC’s name, you aughta think of a reason for that. 

For some extra trivia, most of the stuff about Blizzard and Rain are based on a roleplay I had with my friend a while back, of which Rainrun escorted Blizzardkit back to her Clan’s camp when she wandered past the border and into Rain’s Clan’s territory. I decided I liked that enough to keep.

Mothclan is one of six clans that live in a territory surrounded by mountains, with Mothclan's camp being inside of one of the mountains. They were the sixth clan to arrive at the territories and thus are the newest. They are the only clan who did not start out with ancestors from an old territory and clans that the other clans seem to remember. Instead, Mothclan decends from the healer colonies that once lived in this land that had been driven out by rogues. Because of this, Mothclan seems to be blessed in terms of healers.

The other clans are not particularly fond of Mothclan, as they tend to hold little respect for the warrior code and, by extension, the other clans from time to time. They have a tendency to either accidentally or intentionally cross borders when they feel like it. Despite Mothclan's carelessness, they are able to care for an abundance of cats and are bitterly deemed by the other clans to be "the closest to starclan". The clan themselves however, don't really feel this title fits them.

I’m excited for when applications open, and I’ve been thinking on my OC, but I’m having the hardest time deciding what clan to have them in! From what I understand, Mothclan is the most magical, but other clans also have their own parts of magic. (Albeit, usually not as common!) Out of interest in Emberclan and Dewclan, are cats blessed with magic able to create magical items? For example, magical fabrics that can allow the wearer to do something or a magical sword that works more like a wand?

Mothclan is, in fact, the most magically-inclined! They have mages specifically to craft new spells, and they rely heavily on documenting what they find both natural and magical!None of the clans, however, are able to create magical items themselves. It is considered a form of tampering with the arcane, which, in this universe of Warrior Cats, is strictly against the Warrior Code. Only The Enchanter is known to be able to craft enchanted items, and they are gifted to the three clans upon occasion. Each clan has their own special magical items!However, rule-breakers are known to exist in the clans, and who knows? Maybe someone will discover how to create their own magic items.

Hornetclan Q+A

A prompt response! Let’s see what you have in answer to my questions.

I am very curious about the sand suffix, why did you choose that one as a nurturing suffix? Is it because of some behaviour from Hornets? Or because of where the mothers make their dens?

-Hornets do often make nests in the sand, but I mostly based it off where Queens make their dens, and the fact their bellies are often pressed against the sandy floor when hunting. They don’t use -belly, as Beeclan uses that and it would be seen as an act of war to ‘steal’ their (Beeclan’s) council’s denoter. 

Im not sure how long the seawater scent would last, and i doubt the cats would enjoy the taste while grooming, but perhaps disabled cats do have some form of scent or herb to distinguish them, as trans cats might.

-The seawater scent is more of a thing for the older cats, as the scent is stronger than the kit’s natural scent, so the elders of the tribe can pick that up. However, they’ll rub garlic into the tip of their tail too once they’ve outgrown kit hood.  

 I would love to hear more about their views of Starclan and the Dark Forest, and how that affects birth and death.

-Hornetclan sees Starclan as the dead cats of the clan, and that they shaped the land they stand on. Each grain of sand is a cat’s breath that made the sea, and each star is the eye of a cat that couldn’t physically contribute, so they instead made the sky. The Dark Forest was locked in the moon by the disabled cats, and to keep them in there they must ask for a kits help. This kit will be born paralysed, but with the purest soul in the clan- they can never be sent to the DF because only able bodied or neurotypical cats can go there if tempted by the moon. This is also why they fear Mothclan, who is fully nocturnal and often appears on full moons. 

How do they earn their names? What criteria is used to determine who gets what suffix?

-Names are chosen by the entire clan, but the leader has last say on suffixes. The prefix is chosen by both parents, and is often debated for a few days. Suffixes are also debated within a clan: say there’s a cat who fits both the -sting suffix and the -berry suffix. One half wants -sting, the other half wants -berry. The cat themself would then choose what suffix they want. If the leader agrees, then it is so. 

I have one group of clans where cats (particularly apprentices) can earn the suffix -feather (after an eagle feather) if they survive a great battle or sacrifice for their clan, does Hornetclan have something similar?

-No, but such a cat would be revered in the clan. Their suffix might gain an entirely new meaning, or they could make a new suffix altogether (eg lilypaw survives a flood. In honour of the flood, they create the suffix -rush to denote a cat who is light on their feet and honours safety).

The note about Mothclan holds a nice little superstitious tinge to it, but does this affect how they see darker pelts in cats? 

-It depends how much of a dilute the cat is: dark pelts have nothing to be feared about, but a dilute calico might have some strange looks for being moon-touched. 

Do they still have a gathering on the Full Moon or insist on a more neutral time and place where Mothclan might not have as much power?

-Gatherings take place on a half-moon,  where Mothclan would have power, but less than what it could be on a full moon. The other clans find it strange that Hornetclan insists on never having a gathering on a full moon, but comply anyway.  

Awesome! Thanks so much for the extra info! It seems like you have a really good basis for Hornetclan, and after all the details and hints Im really interested in hearing about Mothclan! You’ve set up quite the believable rivalry between the two, and it would be interesting to hear the other side!
