Kinda angst I guess (but it has Zanaz so take that with a grain of salt)

Trying out writing a story this time.

I mean, yeah, I wrote for the comics, but not long dialog.

So yea, as per both the funni boys mature content warning. (There's no canoodling, there is talk of it tho.)

Also there's quite a bit of text (8 pages worth on Word)

So ye:

“Get up, I have some juicy gossip for you.”

...What?

I open my eyes and the world around me is blinding. It’s so bright that it takes a second to adjust to it. There’s nothing around me other than vast white and empty space.

This definitely isn’t Nevada anymore. (Unless Hank managed to ruin everything even further somehow.)

“Get up now, I know you heard me.”

I get up and look around. Who the hell is talking? There’s literally nothing but white for miles.

“I’m in your head, pretty boy.”

Uh, that…

“I’m holding my eyes closed, don’t worry. I regret ever having them open in here, in fact.”

Welp, that answers that. Now for the other question.

“Who I am is not important. What info I have, may be of interest, though.”

Alright?

“There’s a deal attached to this knowledge, Zanaz. Hear me out before you start fidgeting.”

I’ll sure try.

“You know Kits, right?”

No duh, he’s my best friend.

“Excellent. He’s going to die soon.”

…

What?! Wha, when, how, uh--

“Calm down, jitterbug. There’s nothing you can do to stop his fate, so don’t try. If he doesn’t die one way, another thing will go wrong. Understand?”

I-- NO! What the fuck?! Are you gonna kill him?!

“No, not me. I’m just sharing the news.”

Yeah, right, sure. Fucking… When then?

“Soon.”

How soon? In a month, week or a few days?

“Hm… A month then, give or take.”

...Fuck… How?

“Depends on what leads up to it.”

So, there are a lot of different ways it can happen, right?

“Indeed there are.”

...Do I die with him?

“No.”

NO?! In none of the different variations, I don’t die by his side?

“Oh, you can be by his side, of course. But death isn’t after you.”

What if I try to block a bullet, but it goes through both of us.

“Oddly specific. You’ll still survive.”

What if I block it with my head?!

“Brain damage, possible vegetable state. Will still survive though.”

What if Hank slices us with one of his multiple katanas?!

“People have lived through being sliced in half before.”

WHAT.

“This world has zombie clowns with god like powers and the AAHW is lead by a man consisting of black fire.”

...Ugh, fair enough. So… Wait those are all possible deaths for him?

“If you do everything in your power for it to happen, then yes.”

I… I can kill him before his time?

“Of course! You have free will, don’t you? It’s more of a question if you want to.”

Of course I fucking don’t! I care about him!

“I saw. You daydream about him an uncomfortable amount.”

He’s the main person I’m around, give me a break!

“Have you ever considered not being horny?”

Until I’m castrated, there’ll be nothing of the sorts.

“You’re not even fertile! None of the clones are!”

You think I’m tryna get anyone pregnant at this sausage fest? Besides, that has not stopped me before.

“I refuse to believe that any of those scenes I saw play out in your head happened for real.”

You’d be surprised then.

“WHICH?!?”

Those are for me to treasure.

“...You’re pulling my leg.”

Believe what you want.

“Augh, never mind, TMI. Back onto the topic at hand.”

Oh, yeah, right. Kit… Dying…

Could you for real not give me a date?

“If it depends on the circumstances beforehand, then there’s no possible way to tell which one belongs to this timeline.”

And that means…?

“I don’t know how this Kits dies.”

Can I at least warn him?

“Well, there’s where the other side of the deal comes in. If you tell him, then the effect kicks in immediately.”

What effect? Death?

“Precisely.”

...Ah. Wait, so if I don’t tell him, he dies in a month but if I do, he dies immediately? Of what?

“Stroke, heart attack or brain aneurysm. Chosen at random. Oh, also sneak assassination. That’s also a valid option.”

...This feels set up.

“Mh?”

This feels like either you or whoever sent you here set this up so I’d suffer. You enjoy the pain of others, don’t you?

“I’m only the messen--”

Yeah, yeah, Messenger Bullshit. Then whoever decided this is probably a reality tv producer, who is jacking off to someone pushing in the soft part of a baby’s skull as we speak. You encourage such behaviour by working with them, ya know.

“...Do you think you sound smart?”

I know for a fact I’m not, so no. I’m pretty sure I’m on the money with this one though.

“If I wasn’t here then Kits’ death would come as a surprise to you though!”

I’d prefer that, actually! Now I have to deal with knowing that he… He… Won’t be here anymore soon.

“Well, knowing how overwhelmingly perverted you are, wouldn’t you wanna grab this opportunity?”

“Shoot your shot, ask him out. Not like you could do it with a corpse… …Right…?”

I may be horny, but I’m not messed up.

“Had to make sure.”

Ugh, you’re just making fun of me, aren’t you?

“Which instance are you referring to?”

Kit would never date me.

“And why exactly do you think that?”

He has standards?

“You’re a decently handsome fellow. You also get along with him just fine.”

That… That’s not a determinant of shit like that. There’s way better out there for him.

“He won’t meet em then. Only a month to live, remember?”

I… It’s not worth it.

“What isn’t?”

I know he’ll say no, there’s no point in trying.

“How do you know for sure until you actually ask?”

Cause it’s obvious! He’s actually got a brain in his noggin and he knows me way too well! He’d be fucking disgusted, man! We’re just friends and that’s that.

“Do you not want to then?”

...Why do you assume I do? How do you know that those aren’t just blissful fantasies like the rest of them?

“He’s the only one that you dream of in a non-perverted way. I see no other person in this graphic landscape that you want to hold hands with. (Also, I am closing my eyes again now, Jebus Christoff.)”

“Well, did hit the nail on the head?”

Y-You’re stupid and gay!

“I’m rubber, you’re glue.”

That doesn’t affect me, I’m already openly gay and stupid!

“I guess we’re both such then.”

“So, you gonna give him a month to remember or not?”

“Come on, how much romance could a member of the A.A.H.W. really experience throughout their lifetime? If you’d make this month worth his and your own time, perhaps it would be less painful to see him go? At least he died happy?”

That’s not what I meant. I’d already be upset over losing my best friend, imagine how fucking devastating losing a sweetheart would be.

“…I dunno, still sounds selfish to me. Does his happiness not mean anything to you?”

Who says he’d be happy with me?

“I know you want to make him happy, at least. You dream about his smile.”

“I’m an incorporeal voice in your head that’s having a back and forth with you in a white void.”

“The part where I knew that Kits was gonna die was convincing, but the moment I mention that he might have a thing for you, you question the validity of my claims thus far??”

One sounds way more far-fetched than the other, you gotta admit.

For you maybe! I’ve known him since I’ve been out the cloning tube! We became agents together! I think I’d know what kinda stuff is off the table for him, buddy.

“Well, not only are you wrong, you’re in denial.”

“A hundred percent positive. I have never been more sure of anything in my life.”

“Unfortunately. So, you’ll do it?”

“Affgdgfdgfg, it’s not about you fucking him, it’s you making his last living month worthwhile!”

Okay, so, why do you want me to do that?

I mean, I guess that sounds worth my time. But you didn’t answer my question.

“Sorry for assuming that you want the person you’re madly in love with to be happy, I guess??”

Apology accepted. Now, how do I get outta here?

“Ugh, just wake up.”

And I’m sitting up in my own mat, back at the facility. The clock shows that it’s early morning.

What the fuck do I make of what I just saw? Or heard, for that matter? It clearly wasn’t a normal dream, I never remember those. Plus the topic tends to blur together usually.

I gotta tell-- Wait, I can’t do that, fuck.

I had a really bad day (I wont say why because I wouldnt want you to feel like I'm guilting you into anything) and I was wondering if maybe you had a dfv/lfv or inimitable verse drabble you havent put up or one on here you really like you could point me to (navigation is hard on mobile) or even just some like hcs. If not its totally ok! You dont owe me anything. But I thought I'd ask and see if that's ok.

Oh no!

Sorry that you had a rough day my dear. I don’t have much in the works for those verses right now (I’ve been hammering my head against a wall, trying to write out a piece exploring Gwen and Murderdock’s relationship–it’s not working tho, so I’m stopping). Of course any of the Clint-based pieces are fun in those verses if you need a pick me up, but I am equally fond of Chapter 13 of Sidebars.

But! If you don’t mind a little piece from Lying by Omission/The Sprawl I’ve got cute little bit of Jack and Ben going out to dinner with Matt and Peter?

I’ll put it under the cut if you’re down

“Dad, let’s go out to eat.”

Jack didn’t trust that. Jack had been scarred by the durian. Permanently scarred. He was never coming back from the durian. He was etching a durian with a big ‘X’ through it into the top of his next coffin for future archaeologists to find and have absolutely no questions about.

Matt, sensing that he was presently not receiving the amount of attention that he could be receiving, oozed out of the kitchen and draped himself over the back of the couch, right behind Jack’s shoulders. Jack glanced to the side and noted that he was wearing shoes.

He wasn’t chancing it.

“No shoes on the couch,” he said.

“It’s my couch,” Matt hummed, already migrating over to the couch’s arm, no doubt to burrow his way under Jack’s own arm.

“It’s a couch.”

“My couch,” Matt hummed, plucking Jack’s phone out of his hand and tossing it callously to the other side of said couch. He then executed the burrow and wriggled himself over so that he was the sole occupant of Jack’s lap. He waited, as sweet as could be, until he had Jack’s more or less undivided attention.

The kid was heavy. Jack couldn’t tell if he knew just how heavy he was.

He suspected that he was more than aware of it.

Matt beamed at him. He did not pull his shoed feet over the couch’s arm.

A sign of obedience. Or perhaps a buttering-up technique.

Tricky, tricky.

“Why do we need to go out to eat? What’s wrong with what’s in the fridge?” Jack asked Matt’s untrustworthy grin.

It faded a little because there was a pout which needed doing.

“I’m tired of eating potatoes,” Matt huffed.

“Take it back,” Jack scolded him. “I won’t hear any raggin’ on tatties in this household.”

“I want rice.”

“I’ll make you rice, Matty.”

“I don’t want your rice.”

Picky little shit. Just like his mother. She’d been the type to refuse a peanut butter and jelly sandwich if the slop wasn’t equally distributed.

Jack’s rice was perfectly fine. It even had bits of onion in it. If he was feeling real fancy, he might even cook it in broth or something.

“Fine, so make rice yourself,” he said. Matt squirmed up and wrapped arms around Jack’s neck. He put his cheek against it and immediately made the skin there it itch.

“You need a shave,” Jack huffed, reaching back for his phone. Vanessa was doing battle with her replacement: Bella the cat. She was giving their zombie group the play by play of the her and the cat’s opposing campaigns to win Wade’s favor. Thus far, Bella had broken a plate and gotten scratchies and kisses for it. Vanessa was outraged.

It was an outrage to behold.

“Daddy.”

Not this again. This was no reason to bring out the big guns.

“Get your shoes,” Matt whined.

“Baby, you can go out. I’m not stopping you from going out. No one is stopping you from going out, god help us,” Jack told him.

Matt abandoned his neck, stretched out, quick as a whip, and snatched the phone on the other cushion. He crammed it into his shirt and then replaced himself and his face-broom against Jack’s pulse point.

Yeah.

Yeah, Jack didn’t know what he’d expected to happen here.

“Matt,” he warned.

“Dinner.”

“The last time we went to dinner, you broke my heart, soul, and trust.”

“I won’t do it again.”

“Uh-huh. Yeah, right. ”

“I won’t,” Matt promised, pulling back to add puppy eyes to the mix.

That was unfair. Uncalled for. Totally underhanded.

“Why don’t you go out with Foggy?” Jack tried as a last-ditch effort.

“Because I want to go out with you,” Matt emphasized. “My pops. My old man. We gotta bond. It’ll make me more well-adjusted. The internet says so.”

Jack was confiscating the internet. The internet was a know-it-all snitch.

“DAD.”

“Fine, for fuck’s sake, boy. Get off, you’re drowning me here.”

Jack would go out to dinner on one condition.

Two conditions actually.

1) There was to be no durian. Anywhere. At all.

2) He got to bring moral support.

Matt was more than cool with that because it meant that he could replace the durian with another creative element which would equally torture Jack.

So Jack asked Ben Parker to come along. Parker was sharp as a tack. Compared to Jack, he was a man of the world. A reasonable and sensitive body with respect for his fellow humans. He promised to help Jack identify potential threats to his person flung his way by his uncaring and mischievous son.

Unfortunately, to that end, Matt insisted that they take Ben’s nephew, Peter, out with them too.

Jack knew from the start that this was Matt inserting his chaos element into what might otherwise be a perfectly tolerable and uneventful night out. But he also held out hope that Peter would be the sweet, kind-hearted boy he appeared to be.

It really was too much to ask for.

Peter latched his whole body onto Matt within seconds of their two parties meeting up and the two of them immediately set to whispering which bode poorly for everyone else involved.

“I believe we may have made a mistake,” Ben observed, rubbing thoughtfully at his chin.

Matt wanted rice and Peter wanted something sour enough to leave ulcers in his mouth, so the two of them decided that Thai food would achieve both of these effects. Jack was suspicious. Ben told him that Thai food was very tasty and he had little reason to fear, except.

Except.

“Peter hates durian, it’s fine, he won’t be setting up any conspiracies around it,” Ben promised him.

Mm.

They’d see about that.

Foggy had said something similar when he and Matt had dragged Jack out for Filipino food.

Jack was pretty sure that Peter just wanted a lime. He was 90% sure that all Peter’s cravings could be satisfied with a lime right now.

Matt, however, in an unlikely turn of events, convinced him that he should get food-substances to accompany his burning desire for limes. Peter grumbled at this and deferred to his uncle for support in the face of this logic.

Chaos element, located.

“Pick a carb,” Ben directed.

“Sugar is a carb,” Peter argued.

“Pick a carb in a less refined form,” Ben countered easily.

“If it’s raw sugar, it—”

“Veg, noodles, or rice,” Ben offered him.

Peter scowled.

“You said a carb,” he pouted. “I want sugar.”

“I have good news for you, sweet child of mine,” Ben said fondly. “There is sugar in everything served in the United States of America. You will have your sugar. Pick its structure: veg, noodles, or rice.”

Ben made Jack feel like a shit dad sometimes. Although, to be fair, Jack hadn’t been a dad as long as Ben had.

Peter, outwitted and bitter about it, agitated Matt to help him.

Matt saw no need for that.

“You’re gonna be hungry in an hour and then you’re gonna whine about it,” he declared.

Peter scowled at him and then turned his lethal puppy eyes onto Jack. Jack set up a menu between the two of them because he was not strong enough to cope with that.

Peter whined behind it.

Things were going too smoothly for too long. Jack did not trust the decent behavior happening at this table. Ben got a kick out of his paranoia, which was great because someone needed to.

“What are you hiding?” Jack asked Matt. Matt scoffed.

“Chill, old man,” he said. “We’re literally just having dinner. Maybe try to have a good time, huh?”

No.

Something evil was afoot.

Peter snickered. Matt swatted at him; he easily dodged the hand.

Trouble.

Dinner was eaten and paid for and Jack eventually gave up and settled down. Begrudgingly, he had to admit that Matt was right. Thai food was nice. No incidents had occurred. There was no durian. Ben and Peter made for good conversation, even if everything led back to Peter’s obsession with sci-fi films.

Ben told him that if he kept mentioning them, the aliens would hear him and his name would start to move up higher up on their list of potential captures.

The kid was horrified.

Matt helpfully started counting off the number of times Peter had mentioned aliens in the last week and Peter had briefly looked like he was going to cry.

“Is your wife not going to hear of this?” Jack asked Ben as they walked after the trouble duo who had determined that they were finding dessert at a different location. They seemed to know what they were after, so Jack and Ben left them to it.

“Oh, she will,” Ben said.

“And you don’t mind?”

“She encourages it. She’s convinced him that if you leave a tv on static, aliens can pick up on your watch history.”

Interesting parenting techniques going on here.

Ben laughed.

“Well, I guess we just figure that if you’ve got a weird kid, it’s easier on everyone if you just lean into it. My brother probably wouldn’t be so down with it, but he’s not here, so whatever.”

Ah, right.

“Peter’s your brother’s son, then,” Jack noted.

Ben hummed.

“I…guess,” he said uneasily. “I—it’s hard to explain. I mean, biologically, yeah he’s Rich’s son. But, you know, me and May’ve raised him for longer than Rich and Mary were ever in his life, so, I dunno. Is it fucked up that I kind of think of him as my son?”

No. Not at all.

“My eldest brother pretty much raised me,” Jack told him. “My mama couldn’t be assed to do anything more than scream at the drop of a hat and my daddy was busy drinking himself to death, so Bill was the one who got me up and dressed and off to school in the morning. I always thought of him as a mix between a brother and a mom.”

“No shit?” Ben said. “Where is he? He still around?”

Uuuuuuuh.

“We haven’t talked for a long time,” Jack said.

“Oh? Well, now’s your chance you know.”

Jack tried not to wince too sharply. Ben caught it anyways.

“Or not,” he said. “You don’t have to if its painful or something.”

Oh, buddy.

“We’ll see,” Jack decided. “I’ll need to think about it.”

He didn’t know how Matt would react. Hell, he didn’t know how he would react to seeing Bill again.

Matt and Peter presented Jack with a drink that had evil hiding in the bottom of it.

He should have known better to think he’d escape that night uninjured.

I LOOOOVE CRACKSHIPS IM SORRY here is my faves (im not counting characters that have had like some canon interaction that i based this on) sorry for the 90 mile long list

rebirth space cabbie/jack t chance but back when jack was like all narsty lookin theyre both terrible greasepit garbage men my only problem is i feel cabbie would not go to garnet if he could avoid it but i like the idea of two garbage men catching feelings they refuse to address

kent dr fate/kirk manbat which was sourced by i wanted to make a “khalid shut the fuck up and get the fuck out im going to fuck your grandpa” joke but i dont think kirk would do that to khalid so it wasnt going to be funny caus memes arent funny if theyre too OOC

kevin omac/gus oracle caus theyre both blue and vaguely involved w batman characters (kevin wanting bruce to fix him, gus being babs’ successor) i had a cute little plot where they set kevin up in the clocktower caus its the only thing w ceilings tall enough and gus goes heart eyes

j’onn/reddy bc i think theyre both handsome and i like their obnoxious colour schemes but also UNFORTUNATELY they both played like den mother roles in the yj tv and even tho the show sucks it came to mind while watcxhing it but that wasnt the actual idea came from ive absolutely never seen them in the same comic but they both have the equal potential for bitchiness and i’d LOVE to see that

clark/shade theyre really fundamentally diff in every way but they are both writers albeit very different ones but i have a tendency to ship clark w very forward & weird (bruce, j ryder) (lois who is forward but not weird) ppl and shade is both of those depending on the writing . i think theres also a thing of like shade does not know who superman is i stand by that hes way too out of touch for that so there is literally no wow hes superman hes just a charming guy in spandex

nanaue/john shut UP the source is so demonic but tynion/doyle john and harley quinnTV king shark i think would really vibe in my onion and thats my fave versions of the characters I THINK THESE THINGS OUT!!!!

clark/jack ryder i didnt necessarily ship this until i started getting art RQs for it but consider that in their original meeting clark is like “oh no! ive been uh blinded by the ray beam! the cops will be here in a minute! wooahhh oh no i hope the creeper doesnt escape!” and jack is like thanks bud

23. Unpopular character you love?

dmitri pushkin rocket red which is such a shame caus he really is the only member of the JLI i see left out of absolutely everything i know i talk about him NONSTOP but he is like my fave dc character a completely kind and noble family man who unfortunately adores his teammates despite them hating him. always to do whats right despite orders caus thats all he wants . also he is pretty funny like he plays dumb when he first meets canary just caus he can and then like the scene where buddy asks his kids names and he lists characters from the brothers karamazov. i cant remember the context for the scene but “i should be team leader” “why” “ive already raised children before”.

w canary and guy also like i know they dont give explanation for guy but he holds no grudges against them (canary kicking his tooth out) and guy just being terrible vs like dmitri picking up in a hug later . hes like a little rude to nate in like that one scene of JLE but outside of that like doesnt really retaliate for the treatment nate gives him which... whew .......................

also i guess this is not a popular opinion but i love the apokolypse suit (his main one)

Summary

The Bird King is a 2019 fantasy novel set in 1491, the novel takes place in the Emirate of Granada during the territory’s final days. The story concerns the flight of Fatima and Hassan, a concubine and mapmaker, respectively, from service to the Emirate’s last sultan. (Taken from Wikipedia)

We follow Fatima and Hassan on their search for the Bird King as they avoid soldiers of the Spanish inquisition, and meet a variety of characters along the way.

Our Ratings:

→ Kae: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall: The Bird King is an amazing book that manages to be complex yet light-hearted. It touches on subjects like faith, love, and friendship. The characters are engaging (and absolute drama queens) and the plot is fast-paced so there’s never a dull moment. The dynamic between the characters leads to the funniest situations that will have you dying. In summary, reasons to read this book if you haven’t already:

The Good:

→ Hassan and Fatima’s Relationship

Geena: The best thing about the bird king (aside from the horse named Stupid) was Hassan and Fatima’s friendship. IMO it was so wholesome and they were so in love (PLATONICALLY!!!!). I’ve never seen two best friends who love each other as much as they do. They’re hugging and crying one moment, then the next they’re jealous that one of them is talking to someone else. DRAMATIC. I love it. Have we talked about Gwenny and Stupid yet?

Geena: WE HAVEN’T TALKED ABOUT THEM, the perfect accessories to the Hassan-Fatima duo. Gwen is the token white boi, there for Hassan to thirst over and Fatima to learn how to sail a ship. Stupid on the other hand…. God bless that horse all it did was drown and then LIVE!!!! The absolute legend. BUT Kae HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE GWEN AND STUPID? HMMM

Gwen: I only love God

Also Gwen: *sleeps with Fatima on the deck of the ship while Hassan is 3 feet away*

Kae: Well... Gwennec. Ol’ Gwenny Gwen Gwen. Gwen, the Monk who FUCKS. PAHAAHA. Gwen was a new Monk who was at first, totally against helping our favorite bestie-bitches. But Fatima was all “Don’t test me white boi I will kick ya ass.” And Gwen lowkey thought it was hot so he let them slide. He taught Fatima and Hassan how to sail while Hassan made googly eyes at him and definitely wanted to tap that. But, as previously stated, Fatima and Gwen got it ooonnn. Hassan found out and as like “Fa, I can’t believe you slept with my husband who doesn’t know we’re married yet!”, and that was basically that.. Then we have Stupid. The horse who was just as damn stupid as his name. The horse lived to spite the Grim Reaper just to prove it would breathe another day. We also haven’t mentioned our Jinn friend and their literal lifesaver/guardian angel, Vikram.

Geena: VIKRAM, aka another dude/djinn/dog man that Hassan wanted to fuck but couldn’t :( Vikram was essentially the only one in the group that had a substantial amount of brain cells, and spent most of the time trying to make sure Fatima didn’t accidentally kill herself. The fact that he saw his death and it was in the arms of a “beautiful woman” should sum up his character really well.

Kae: Geena is sooo right. Vikram was the only one with brain cells because Fatima and Hassan both shared two. Our loveable, dramatic, but also a little dimwitted faves wouldn’t have survived any of their adventure without Vikram. He lead them through a Jinn filled tunnel that Hassan made. Escorted them across the land with the Inquisition right on their asses, and fought off whoever tried to hurt them. Initially, he agreed to save them because of a debt he owed to Fatima’s Sultana. But in the end, Vikram helped them because he wanted to. He was a weirddog/man/Jinn who just wanted Fatima and Hassan to stop being dumbasses for five seconds. But they couldn’t so he was constantly annoyed and probs wanted to eat them to shut them up. BUT WE STAN THAT FURRY LEGEND BECAUSE WITHOUT HIM, OUR ESCAPEES WOULD BE DEAD-EEE. Also he was one suave, smooth talking mofo and I feel like if he walked up to you and said “You’re lovely, but you’re an idiot. It’s okay, because you’re pretty tho.” that compliment sandwich would go right over your head and you’d thank him.

Geena: ok FIRST OFF I would be like “why do you have a tail” but god Kae you hit all the points.

The Bad AND The Ugly

→ The Sultan and His Mom Being Pedos

Geena: Ok so, Fatima is 17 and I’m assuming the Sultan was in his mid-thirties, because he has kids Fatima’s age 👀. So I am sure it was historically accurate, the fact that the old ass man had a 17 year old concubine, but that doesn’t make it any less gross!!!! What’s worse is that Fatima’s mom was originally a slave for the sultan, so when she was born the sultan’s mom raised her and had her instated as a concubine when she was 15!!!!!! Scuse me while I 🤮.

Kae: Yea, Geena said it all. The Sultan was ewww. Fatima was his favorite and I guess he talked to her like she wasn’t a concubine? She was treated very well. For a concubine. Probably better than any concubine I’ve read about Like, she had rights and could talk shit without punishment. But still, DISGUSTEEENNNG. Our girl was groomed so we do NOT stan the Sultan.

→ Luz

Kae: we also have our main villain, Luz. She arrived at their palace to play peaceful, but she had ulterior motives that involved her spreading the word of the LORDT and taking Hassan in to be tried for Witchcraft and all that magic shit. Because if we didn’t say it before, Hassan can draw anything on a map and make that place a reality. Luz has this little worm in her eye that basically makes her super weirdly strong and badass. But fuck Luz. When Fatima finds out that Hassan is to be tried for witchcraft, she goes to him so they can both escape. Fatima wants to be free and she doesn’t want to see her bestie die. So what do they do? They dip. And now our friends are on the run.

Geena: UGH Yes, can I just say the moment that Fatima realized that Hassan would get canned she was like “fuck all these people” and peaced out with Hassan? Friendship goals… But yes LUZ!! I enjoyed reading her as a villain because she genuinely thinks she’s a good person and that her life’s mission is to “Save” people like Fatima from people like Hassan. You really end up liking her in the beginning, and then she turns around and murders a few people and you’re like…. Ah…… i see….. aND THEN it turns out she was being controlled by some brainworm that was also trying to get to the Bird King and you kind of wonder…. How much of what Luz did was her being a violent inquisitor and how much was the worm controlling her… you kno? She redeems herself by dying, so I guess she gets…. Like one (1) right.

Kae: Damn girl! Well said!!! LITCHERALY that is a perfect summary of Luz’s character. I can’t say anything else because it’s been SAID. Villains are always interesting when they don’t see themselves as the bad guy. They’re righteous and unforgiving because they believe they are doing the right thing. That’s what scary about them.

Conclusion

Kae: Okay, so in conclusion. This is an amazing book and in all honesty, I enjoyed the hell out of it. I was never bored reading it. Hassan, Fatima, and Vikram had quite the adventure and all the dramatics of made it that much more enjoyable. They left the palace in hopes of freedom. Hassan and Fatima got the idea of The Bird King from a story they liked to read, but never knew the ending. So they continued the story on their own, making it up along the way. In hopes of escaping their new fate to Luz and the Inquisition, Hassan drew up a map to the Bird King in hopes to find it. Their journey took them to meet Gwennec who sailed them to said island, where they discovered used to be inhabited long, long ago. Soon, others began to show up on the island. Hassan even got him a MANS. A DOCTOR. Whew. He’s got taste. The island is also forever changing and some of the remaining inhabitants are Jinn.

Geena: Kae summarized the story really well!!! The journey to the end was an absolute trip, but G. Willow Wilson tied up the story neatly. We get to see Fatima become less dependent on Hassan (thanks to his doctor bf who told her to chill out) and Hassan finally find the happiness he deserves. Gwen, unfortunately, doesn’t make it to the end (press F to pay respect). Luz essentially sacrifices herself by taking the map Hassan drew, getting off the island, and ripping it up. Why does she do this? Because to make a place or passage Hassan drew disappear the map has to be ripped. And leaving the map to the island wasn’t an option because the Spanish inquisition never stops!!

Kae: And if they ripped the map on the island, the island would cease to exist! Upon arrival to the island, everyone had their ships wrecked. Luz got fucked up on the shipwreck and that worm thing got ripped out of her eyes and then it became a monster on the island that was NOT to be trifled with. Since Luz got all jacked up, she was gonna die anyway and no one wanted her to stay--

Geena: Everyone said “u cant sit with us” to luz. OKAY DISCUSSING THIS BOOK MADE ME REMEMBER HOW MUCH IT MADE ME LAUGH, GENUINELY ONE OF THE FUNNIEST BOOKS I’VE READ. 10/10 FOR ME!!

Kae: LMAOOO HONESTLY. XPECIALLY FATIMA NEVER HAVING WALKED SO FAR BEFORE AND BEING A BIG OL BABY. but she DIIIID have messed up shoes that blistered so I’ll give her that BUT YES HASSAN WAS A DRAMA QUEEN “waaah, I have red hair and im pale BUT I'M STILL HOT AND I LIKE TO F U C K” But yeah, Luz got voted off the island and voted herself off the island, ripped up the map, and then they were safe and lived happily ever after. Vikram even made his final appearance to say his goodbyes to Fatima, even though he hates goodbyes. I give this book a 10/10. It was funny, the characters were likeable and relatable, and it was just a good adventure read.

okay i’m done playing for the day

just to update where i am, i’ve beaten xigbar, dark riku, larxene, luxord, and marluxia, and i saved at the save point behind the blue doors in the labyrinth

my thoughts are super scattered rn honestly. mainly i’m just entranced at how grand and beautiful the graphics are. i remember seeing the secret trailer or whatever for birth by sleep waaaay back when, and playing this game feels like playing that trailer -- like i’m literally playing a high budget final fantasy movie. this is exactly what i’ve always wanted for kh3.

in this same vein, i’m so so grateful at how the whole team up has played out. it’s just so epic, so anime. i love it. i love how we’ve all come together and everyone’s getting their moments to shine, every single relationship/friendship gets its moment. i just really really love it.

that yen sid moment was fucking AWESOME. not the anime old man battle i’d been hoping for a la netero vs meruem, but like. still pretty cool.

donald is honestly so fucking great. GOD he just blasted terranort away like he was NOTHING like u fucking go donald good for u hun

but in that scene i was really, really angry that kairi did absolutely nothing to protect herself or fight back. and no, i’m not mad at her character, i’m furious with nomura. you GAVE HER A KEYBLADE. let her use it!!! she said she’ll protect sora, let her fucking do it!!! i’m all for characters protecting each other, like, that’s my shit, but it gets annoying when it’s the same character that needs protecting over and over again. and we KNOW that they’re capable of writing physically strong female characters, like aqua and xion, so why does kairi keep getting the short end of the stick?

anyway. it pissed me off. and sora didn’t do jack shit by hugging her lmfao like boy i love u with my whole heart but that was a dumbass move.

so moving on

i’m not sure how i feel about the whole sora half dying and going to weird heaven thing. that implies that riku wasn’t strong enough to stop the demon tide which annoooyyyss me. he went to all the trouble of shielding sora just to not actually be able to stop the tide from hurting him. that sucks :/

but bro i was so devastated by all the lost souls he spoke to. i wasn’t sure who they were supposed to represent, if they were even supposed to represent anyone at all, and god that little kid one made me really emo lmao plus that one with the person who was like “i stepped back but he never closed the distance” it made me think of riku BYE

aqua and ven have been great, every moment they’re on screen is a blessing. i love themmmm and oof the moment ven runs to terra and aqua’s like that ain’t terra hit me right in my heart

oh wait that just reminded me of a question....so did none of that original timeline with everyone dying happen? cause like. when kairi rescued sora and he came back and reunited with everyone it seemed like they all were like “yay we’re back together!” but then the original beats of the finding terra scene played out like they’d never happened before. idk i’m just confused on if sora rescuing everyone’s hearts erased that original timeline, and how it changed honestly? like how would saving everyone summon terra’s soul to fight?

unless ven is just a dumbass and thought that really was terra for a second time lmfao

and another question i had....sora sees a light and calls out to it with “riku”, then later when he gets kairi back she’s also a light. was she the light all along, or are there two separate lights? i’m fine with either but i’m just confused.

this boss rush is prettyyyyy stupid tbh. i like the concept and i like teaming up with everyone, but the villains dying mid battle and having basically the same cut scene for all of them (”you beat me....heh....guess my emotions are returning” “let’s meet up when u come back even tho u were trying to kill us!”) is repetitive and annoying, not to mention silly since there’s always at least one more org member still trying to kill us. like the luxord larxene marluxia one was REALLY silly. you expect me to believe larxene and marluxia just stopped attacking so luxord and sora could have a Moment?

but whatever it’s fine lol not a huge deal

i loved when we went to olympus btw like that was just super fucking cool. the other worlds less so but olympus was dope

i’m very curious to see how sora ends up crying fighting xehanort? does everyone die a second time?? rip

but seriously they totally tricked us when they edited all the trailers u know

lastly....and i know i’ve been saying it a lot in my liveblog....but sora and kairi just aren’t doing it for me. i love her a lot and they’re sweet together, a pure healthy relationship, but there’s just....no substance. unfortunately she’s not a deeply written character, much as I’d like her to be, and that makes her relationship with sora fall flat. while there’s nothing wrong with their relationship per se, and i can see it working and being cute, it’s hard to truly root for them when it’s just lacking so much depth, depth that DOES exist in another relationship sora has.

basically, them fucking over kairi’s character development fucks over her relationship development with sora.

but i expected them to end up together, so i’m not disappointed or upset in any way. these are just my honest feelings on the subject.

anyway! i feel like this is a lot of griping which i didn’t intend? but i actually really do love this game lol and i’m super excited to beat it this week!

There’s not much I can say about this game, it was the first time that I haven’t made jury, EVER! But it just shows that people came to play, I’m glad that I was able to be apart of it, bummed that I was out so fast. Jumanji will forever be the reason that I lost this game but still worth it cus it was a great movie :)

So on a personal level, I felt really bad cause I thought you were such a cutie and all, but I knew on a game level that was probably the most beneficial vote since you proved yourself to be capable of so much. Coming into this game, I thought I knew exactly what I was signing up for. But you know, expectations vs reality don’t always play out the way you’d think. I happily flopped down on the grenade for the Loronha tribe because they were pure beans who deserved the best. It’s been a pleasure to play in the Athena series and I can’t wait to see who wins.

Like you are probably the most all stariest all star in this entire cast, such a fun personality, so social and nice and a great person to be around. I HATED seeing you get voted out, even though you volunteered, because you were so gracious and just…… so just the best. It was really a mess. I am SO HAPPY you made jury, just because I think you really deserve it. You are just an icon, and I’m kinda gushing because you didn’t really go out for game reasons, so I can only really talk on a personal level, and on a personal level I have so much time and respect for you.

From our time on Vireao to then merge, I just… we connected quite a bit early on and maybe some of that was lost at merge, but it was still somewhat there?? It’s hard to explain really. But with the lack of information being swapped between us, and how you apparently had advantages but we were a showmance… it just felt too difficult to form that trusting relationship, and due to your threat status, your vote occurred. I really hope you didn’t take anything personally because like… you were a threat, it was strategic. No one had ONE bad thing to say about you as a person or even gamewise. It was literally all love, love, love. This game was wild from start to finish for me, it was honestly the most fun I’ve had in a game so far considering I didn’t even think I deserved to come back as an All Star. I had a great time, wouldn’t really change anything I did except probably would’ve given fewer people my snapchat and facebook info…oh well!

I’m not going to try and bactrack and say I regret my decision on a game level, because I don’t. You were winning this game…. Like 100%. You could do anything and everything and literally were. But, what I do regret is how much being voted out upset you. You are my friend outside of this game, and I cried like… real tears (I love emotional stability) when you said you didn’t want to talk to me again. Like, I would hate for a game to ruin our friendship. I would really really hate that. I also was sad in that as you know from when we have talked, I am SUCH a will warrior and have always been a supporter of you, as you know. I’d hate for you to take me voting you out as a personal attack, as that’s truly the last thing I want? I know it might not come across that way, but me voting you out was almost a compliment? I never would’ve so aggressively blindsided you if you weren't SUCH a big threat.I just really love you on a personal level and would hate for this to affect that?

I also have something else to say to you, that I’m not entirely sure if you are going to want to hear. I will be really disappointed on a personal level if you try and poison the jury against people? With that said, as someone that was so disappointed in a jury being turned against you in Azores, I’d… be disappointed if you tried to recreate that as a form of revenge? my time in the game was an absolute roller coaster. sorry to use such an overused metaphor. anyways. i am so thankful to have met everyone in this game and to have even been considered an all star in the first place. looking back at my game, there’s a lot of things i would have changed. i made a lot of mistakes and i can’t really explain everything i did and i am quite surprised i made it as far as i did. i’m so thankful for the hosts for a great game and everyone for being so nice to me even when i was ANNOYING!

Like, game aside, you’re a phenomenal individual and, well, incorporating game, you’re such a great game player. I think the most fond memory I have with you (and this is going to be an upset MSDGKSD) was when my instagram was glitching - well, it still is - and you went off private because you wanted me to follow you and it let EVERY. SINGLE. REQUEST. Follow you and it didn’t even LET ME FOLLOW you ASKGDHFL. I had so many great times with you and… i’m sorry it was spoiled during your vote. Ali I am what I am, and what I am is a Cam stan. I could go into gamey stuff and explain why I voted you out, but I think you know…. It's because you were literally winning. You had glown UP this season as a player, i remember when we called on the night of the one world and I was like…. whomst is this person and what have they done with Cameron, you just had such self confidence and sense of self worth, that I’m really hoping you translate into your real life, because you are always so down on yourself and really shouldn’t be because you are truly the best. And now that I’ve kind of loosely touched on game, it's time for a “why I love Cameron speech”. RoP is kind of a weird place to do this, but you are someone that sometimes doesn’t realise how much they are LOVED by so SO many people, so I’m hoping you can use this as a pick-me-up when you feel down.

Cameron, you are one of my favourite people ever and it's my genuine PLEASURE to call you one of my best (or beest) friends. What I value in you most is your…. Loyalty? You will fight to the death for your friends, and I really hope I am as a good of a friend to you as you are to me. Whether you are having a down day or not, you will swoop in and make sure everyone is okay, and I think that’s a really really great characteristic to have. Also, you are so funny, like I think there are few people in this game who can make me laugh as much as you do? Going from having you host my first Athena game to getting to play our first game together, our relationship has come a long way and is one that is so important to me. Zach Cameron… I just don’t know where to start with any of these ROPs. Okay. I felt like premerge we didn’t have a connection obviously because… we never were together. The first time we were on the same tribe was literally merge (well, one world, but that was for 2 days), which is somewhat shocking. I did enjoy working with you, i’ll admit. After we all came together post-Will vote and started planning together, I was really happy because we’d call quite a bit and just… laugh and talk about anything and everything. Whether it was going to have Dana play that fake dog idol or just talking about game purely, it was so much fun and I don’t regret one second of it. The reason for your vote, at least to me, was that you were clearly in a similar mindset with me. Like, we knew our interests didn’t align. And keep in mind, that’s literally ignoring the fact that you played this game so hard and so good, helping spearhead multiple votes directly and just… you played phenomenally. So just with all this information combined, you were my biggest threat at the time and I think your vote was critical to determining how this game would result. Also, let me say that I was genuinely ready for you to swipe the merge idol out of your pocket and just be like “thought you seen the last of me? Surprise!!” like… i was on EDGE that entire night. In the end, I wish I could’ve been slightly more honest about me voting you but just with paranoia and how you weren’t honest with me, it felt necessary. You’re a great person at heart and everything, and I really hope we can continue talking post game because I love you and you know that, and you know I wouldn’t do anything based on personal feelings, but rather game related issues. Dana Things just never seem to work out for us in games do they!? I love you so much despite our flop at working together, but I’m glad I got to know you better this time around! You put a lot of trust in me at a few points during this game and I’m really thankful that you trusted me enough to do that. I learned a lot about being dedicated from you in this game. You always give your 100% effort and are so passionate about playing, which was really refreshing!

Kevin you didn't deserve that!! i'm so upset you had to go, the instant tribal twist really robbed you :( we didn't get to work together/talk game until the merge and i feel like i got to trust you more and more, sad it happened like it did :(

Zach ASHVIKA! It’s ugly that we never really talked substantially until merge, but even on OG Vireao we connected slightly. I love you and I genuinely was so excited seeing you cast because I heard so much about you and I saw you in Unova and everything was so satisfying. We talked and I love that we had similar courses and we literally live close to each other and maybe we could meet up soon?? Wig?!!! But yeah. In the game i really enjoyed our mini conversations, and I hate that we only started talking a significant amount near the end of your journey :(... i feel bad that a lot of things went down during your trip, but in the end it probably was for the best because tbh that tribal was not only deadly, but… stressful as heck. Now for game. I think you played such a likeable game and that’s what was most threatening about you, like… I had so many conversations with people and when your name got brought up, it was the idea of “oh my gosh, she’s won her season unanimously” which just made you seem like a phenomenal player, and I definitely see that myself. I really wish there wasn’t a live tribal that night because had there not been, we would’ve gotten at LEAST two more days to talk and it would’ve been so fun because you were someone I talked to the most, especially during that phase of the game. Of course though, I love you greatly and I think you’re a peach, and I hope to continue our friendship once this game is over, and I really hope to get to play another game with you sometime soon :’) <3 love you queen.

Ali Owen, I am SO blessed to know you. Like again, game aside because aside from when I got sad, I did send you an explanation for voting you out, but I just wanna… ramble about how great you are. This is my third game of only four that I’ve played, that I played with you and every time is just a genuine blast. You are just such a fun-loving person, and you are just such a great friend to me, especially in this game. I’ve tried to play differently this season and actually made moves, and I don’t think I could’ve done it without the emotional support that on a personal level you provided me with? Like it's kind of unfair to have lumbered a lot of that on you, but the reason I did is because I have such trust in you as a friend. I just think you are just… such a great person. I am also INCREDIBLY honoured that the first person to vote for me in any game ever was you, like in a weird way that’s just… really amazing, to have _the_ Owen vote for me. I just… I really think you are such an amazing person and like a real role model, both as a player (because oh my god you are always so scary to play with) and just as a person? Like I just think you are such a good person through and through, and I’m so glad to know you.

Dana My snake husband! I’ll forever feel guilty for robbing you of final tribal in this game, but just know that I wouldn’t have had to do it if I didn’t think you were one of the most intelligent and brilliant players I have gotten the opportunity to play with. I’m so glad we finally got redemption from our “alliance” in Festive and actually became good friends. Without you I am certain I wouldn’t be where I am in this game right now, so I am immensely appreciative of our relationship in this game. Zach bye bye. This is going to be so hard to write and i’m already feeling anxious and sad again. The first time in this game we got to play together was during the swap phase of the game. I felt like we connected, and it was different than our time in Festive. It felt more genuine, it really did. We’d call sometimes too and just, I don’t know. I loved that alliance of you/me/emily that was made, and I just was so excited to play with you again, and hopefully together this time. You were someone I trusted a lot, and you never broke that, and I want to say thank you for that right now before I get into anything else. So, thank you. During merge, I still felt like we had a connection, but I think it was mostly during round two (of merge) when we started talking a lot. I’m struggling to pick out one single memory because I laughed too many times and too hard at so many of our conversations and I don’t even know where to go from here. Just the call about “mario” to making a group text chat and being upsetting to just about anything, or even that time when we called and i lied just for dana to tell you the truth 2 minutes later and then me apologize in the broken language i spoke in and just SMDGLKSD ugh there’s too much. There literally is too much to talk about. From the game standpoint, I think it’s obvious. You hands down played one of the best games this season, and you not only helped orchestrate many moves but you were just a social goddess to the point where I like… was on the verge of tears about having to vote you out. I didn’t even want to attend tribal because it was so awful and I just couldn’t speak without choking up and ugh. You’re a great person Owen and I really hope we can continue talking after this game and that we are able to play a game again because you made me such a wario/waluigi STAN and I never had one dull moment with you and argh. Dana and I would just talk about how amazing you were, and this is getting too long I need to STOP. I love you and I hope you know that I only did what I thought was best, and I really hope you’re willing to wear steel toed boots and kick my jaw because that’s what I deserve for committing the robbery that the four of us did. Rites of Passage

For the past 58 days you have been battling it out with other All-Stars to earn the title of Sole Survivor. It has not always been easy and it has not always been fun but the four of you made it here and 21 other players did not. No matter what method you used to get here, getting here is an accomplishment and we commend you all on that.

But right now is not about you, right now is about the 21 people who started this journey with you but had it cut short. Let us take this time to reflect on the players who did not make it to this point.

Wes: I hope everything is alright with you man. You were fun to host in the past so I was hoping to play with you but the stars didn't align I guess. :/

Jimmy: Being my first fellow Aussie that I got to play with, already a ripper of a bloke in my books. It was good to be able to chuck out some banter about Melbourne and bogans to each other because we don’t normally get the chance to do that around these parts. It's mega shame you had some things going on in real life because it would have been awesome to have you round for a wee bit longer!

Jack: From the moment we talked I thought we were going to be best friends. Shame that you sort of “disappeared” because I had heard many good things about you and your game style!

MJ: I hope you had fun at summer camp!

Well. So, ah...huh. Apparently, these all stars? Not as, ah...not as greedy as I thought. So, uh, yeah. That's, well.

Wes: Your gamble with taking the idol clue showed that you were here to go balls to the wall from the get go and I can respect that.

Jimmy: Really enjoyed chatting to you early on even though it was brief. You were a real chill dude and I found it super easy to carry on a conversation with you. It was a bummer you made an early that cost you your game, but I was pulling for you to scrape through at the time. Fun fact, I've picked up a trivia hosting gig myself and will be hitting you up for some pro tips

Jack: We only had one conversation but you were really nice!

MJ: He was a fighter.

Wes: I was sad when you got voted out, considering you were the winner of the first season I ever hosted. I wish you had been able to make it further and have some more fun this season.

Jimmy: My lovely friend Emma! I told you this but one of the most exciting things about the reveal was watching your video and hearing that adorable accent of yours. I’m glad we were able to come in as Easter mates, but it's a darn bugger you got double-whacked early on, would have loved to have you round more. It's was awesome to catch up and it definitely makes me want to hit yourself and the whole Easter squad up a bit more so thanks for that!

Jack: You leaving the game was an unfortunate result of Andaman just outright sucking at tiebreakers and it honestly sucks that it had to happen.

MJ: Ugh. You were supposed to be the only two time u'annimous winner. :(

I think y'all are the best tumblr hosts and this was a great game... I was going through personal things in life and I was very overwhelmed with everything. No disrespect to the game at all. I'm still never been voted out :)

Wes: I don’t really have anything nice to say about you.

Jimmy: We played together in my very first game and we didn't get along particularly well over there. That clearly translated over to here because you were the only one not to hit me up this game. Congrats on keeping your 'not voted out' record I guess, although I don’t particularly think quitting is truly victorious way of keeping it.

Jack: I mean if you didn’t quit maybe you would have made it far, I don’t know.

MJ: I'm glad we got to talk before you quit... It would've really been nice to actually work with you though!

Well it was an absolute honor to get chosen to play in allstars, I wish I lasted longer but there are some TRIFLING BITCHES IN THE WORLD!! It's okay though, I made sure to curse all of them now there's just one left x Good luck everyone <3 also jack can I get ur abi maria url?

Wes: You’re one of the few people in this season that I don’t really know. I hope, if you want to, you get another shot at returning so you can make it further.

Jimmy: Somewhat of an enigma to me in this game. We chatted a fair bit at the start which I really liked, but once the game moved along you disappeared and I wouldn't hear from you for ages. My favourite memory of you will be in one of the many many tie-breakers we needed you to come on and confirm our choice and you just weren't on. The whole tribe was messaging the tribe chat "JC!", "JCCCCCCC" which reminded me of the absolutely hilarious moment in Gabon when GC went missing on the boat. Other than that, I can’t say we shared to many moments.

Jack: I am glad you brought back the story of me picking you in the Uncharted draft because your avatar was Abi-Maria and I like Abi-Maria. We didn’t talk much after but I appreciate that one moment!

MJ: You deserved better... Wish we didn't have to boot you when we did.

I don't really have anything to say except that I'm playing my ashy idol

Wes: I’ll never know if you actually wanted to work with me or not, but the things you would tell me compared to what I heard from you via other people proved that I couldn’t trust you very much.

Jimmy: mad respect for you Jessy! You were an absolute legend, reading back over our convos was a blast relieving some the most food-related chats going around. You were also a bloody fighter as well and sure didn't make life easy when you were chucked in a shit stick position. Many people were sad to see you go, and while I understood those feelings I'm glad it was a short time I had to deal with your valiant shenanigans!

Jack: I’m sad Triple J 2.0 couldn’t have a solid reunion but I remember why I still love talking to Jessy! You’ve been a solid player/person since the BBTC days (throwback right?) and I’m sorry the cards didn’t play out in a way where I could continue to work with you!

MJ: Ugh......... I love you so much... I literally had so much fun with you the round you left. I wish everything would've worked out, but I'm glad you at least had fun playing that last day.

I had to think if it was really worth it, but after that I remembered, this is AllStars. I might be a trainwreck, and i might be a bit of a clueless mess, but so was I in UI and Sicily, and i almost won one of those and sicily, even tho there were much better people, i think i did pretty great. There's always a chance to turn shit around, and i just hope i can actually do it. Wish me luck at the challenge, because i refuse to go down without a fight

Wes: You weren’t afraid to take a stand against your opponents and I majorly respect that.

Jimmy: Yeah we never particularly clicked either. It took a while to get chatting and even then, you weren't around too much. Was cool to meet someone from Venezuela but other than that I don't think we had too much going.

Jack: Thank you for being a very honest person to me. I appreciated every conversation that we shared throughout this game!

MJ: He was a fighter.

I had a lot of fun in this game and while I wish I could have gone further I did really enjoy my time here! Congrats to the final 4 and thank you to the hosts for casting me and putting together a great game

Wes: Samantha McCanada told me you were awesome, but I never got to really meet you in game!

Jimmy: just from talking to you a bunch this game I learned you're definitely someone with a real big heart, particularly for animals. One thing that really stood out for me while chatting away with you is that even though we rarely shared an interest we were still able to go on and on about any old thing. You're a really sweet person and I'm glad I was one of the ones you talked to the most ☺

Jack: My KPOP Buddy!! I’m glad I had someone to talk about KPOP with, even if it wasn’t something we did all the time. Thank you for telling me that some boy groups/songs are okay and trust me I have realized (Spring Day? Shook!)

MJ: She was a fighter.

I'm proud of how I played in all stars, hell I'm still surprised I got cast. Good luck to the meninist final 4!

Wes: I only know you by reputation, but I suspect you would have been a serious threat down the line.

Jimmy: my good mate Gage! I hope you received your thumb in good nick lol. Definitely one of best lads going around this game - loved chucking around banter, always a good time and not backing away from taking chat down a weird road! Your exit was a shit time, amplified by me very deep into Australia Day celebrations, and my last drunken proclamations summed it up pretty well lol! Would have absolutely loved if you were able to stick around longer but I’m keen to kick back and have a chat soon ☺

The so-called HOSTING STAFF has been slandering me for YEARS. Their twists and tribe swaps were planted to make me look bad! Sad! You know, I’ve talked to fans, and I have many fans, and they’ve all said I’m the bigliest All-Star to ever play. Blame the CROOKED media and their alternative facts for my poor placement!

Wes: Speaking of reputation. I’ve never seen a group of people so fiercely want someone voted out before. You’re the epitome of a wild card in this game and I feel like a lot of people felt seriously threatened by that.

Jimmy: Mr Summers, the biggest tragedy of this game is that we couldn't get ourselves together and get a twinsie pick of our Superman onesies *cue tear*. It was real cool to finally be in a game with my pal Matt even though our game time was fairly limited to a couple of tribals. Keep hitting us up on Snapchat and chucking banter at me for being straight.

Jack: I’m really mad we were never on a tribe together because I never got to experience what it is like to play with MATT FUCKING SUMMERS. I hope you’re having a good time at college and we gotta update each other on our boy endeavors!

MJ: Our games never really aligned and probably never would have. Sucks that such a massive force like yourself had to go sort-of early, but it was definitely best for my game.

This was something else, huh. At the end of the day I'm glad I got to be a part of it, even if it wasn't for as long as I'd liked. I hope everyone remembers that it's just a game! Thanks for a kind of fun time.

Wes: You have a massive reputation and you always seem to do extremely well in the games you play. You would have been a massive threat if you were allowed to make it into the late game.

Jimmy: I'd like to say that you definitely were a real intimidating player. You seemed to be popping up in conversations about organising votes and were a real top notch guy with a bunch of connections. Going against you is the first real move I've made in any game I've played, and even then, it took a couple of go's to get the final blow. So you've got a lot of my respect for being a bit of a beast and props for being just a real good dude (despite the fact you got 0 of my sport references, but at least you gave it a go)

Jack: We talked a total of two times in this game so I apologize for a lack of effort on my part. I hope you’re doing well!

MJ:

I can't believe I got booted without making a confessional, what a tragedy. C'est la vie, I guess. Anyways, everyone left is gay now because they're on the rainbow tribe. I don't make the rules.

Wes: You are honestly one of the best people ever and I can see why people would have wanted you out from a game perspective but it didn’t make it any less sad seeing you get voted out. :(

Jimmy: Easily the best attitude towards playing this game and our stalemate call at the tie was probably one of the funniest moments I've had this game. You were a joy meeting and I feel I've learned from you this game just about being a more cheery and considerate dude. A big ole beacon of fun times you were! It’s bummer you got done because I would have really enjoyed getting the chance to have a go at merge with you there.

Jack: Probably one of my biggest pre merge regrets is not talking to you more. Thank you for telling me to go to bed for a couple of nights in the game! I never listened, but it's the thought that counts.

MJ: I would have really loved to work with you long-term, but my hand was forced the round you went. I'm glad we at least got to be on the same page for a couple of tribals though! The Logi-Wan Kenobi gif might be one of the best products of this season as well.

Survivor All Stars was full of fun surprises! My goal was to not be the first boot and making jury was the icing of the cake! I'm proud of the game I played and I've loved every moment this season. Good luck to the ones that made it to the end!

Wes: The first victim of this game’s stupid Fiji-ish twist. I didn’t see a situation where we were going to reconcile after you took out one of my lives in the premerge, and we never really talked about it afterwards. It was kind of the elephant in the room and we ended up voting for each other again here. You had the willpower to earn yourself four lives in this game and I guarantee if you had made the end you would have had an amazing story to tell.

Jimmy: - If Logan easily has the best attitude, then Ruthie easily is the kindest soul. At first I didn't really know what you were about - we didn't talk too much, I just thought you were an extremely nice lady that was up super early and up for a chat. It wasn't until I got the sweetest out-of-the-blue message about ignoring people if they were salty about nabbing the advantage because at least I was honest with it. At 4am that was exactly what I needed to hear and from that moment on I was a mega Ruthie fan! I couldn't have been more stoked when you won your way back into both games like a boss and awesomely grabbed a jury spot! You're a legend in my books and all the props to you!

Jack: The girl with 4 lives! Definitely the sweetest person on this cast. Even if our conversations weren’t consistent, they were fluid and we could keep up the same conversations for like a week over the course of many hours. Mad respect for winning the double comeback challenge, you really proved that you dedicated yourself to this game and I loved that.

MJ: I wish you hadn't gone at the tribal that you did, but I didn't want to get too involved with business that wasn't really mine. We had some nice chats along the way though, and since I made it this far, I guess I'll let you have Darren Criss.

Worth a shot, eh? :P I'm so grateful I got to play! Really wish I got back in to stir something up! It was quite the shituation but that's life, you gotta dig through a lot of shit before you find something good.

Wes: Voting you out felt really shitty. I can understand if you feel betrayed and upset by me. The only thing I can offer you is that I feel like we both really wanted to survive that garbage twist and I did what I needed to do to overcome it. I hope you can believe me when I say I would have not wanted to vote you out if two-thirds of the people that made merge weren’t all immune.

Jimmy: Stevo, my saviour from Easter! Super surprised to see you giving this game a crack, just didn't expect to see you in same game as me again. But I was bloody stoked that I'd be able to check in and see what you've been up to over the past year. Like I told you in the game, I owe all success and good times I've had in Tumblr Survivor post-Easter due to you being a top-notch dude and giving me the chance to play, so I was more than ecstatic that I'd be able to repay the favour along the line. Your last ditech attempts in this game were confusing, but way to go out in glory. Very much look forward to St Paddy's Day to hear from another gloriously trashed Stevo!

Jack: Not gonna lie, you kinda scared me for a moment when you lied about your idol. I was thoroughly convinced that it was a real thing. It is probably the one lie in this game I can say I completely fell for, no joke. It’s a shame it didn’t work out but you played it very well and I think if the circumstances were different, it could have worked out!

Wes: I didn’t get to know you super well, and I think a lot of people didn’t know what to make of you and felt threatened by your unpredictable disposition, myself included.

Jimmy: I found you to be really hard to talk to this game. Not sure if it was an age thing or not, but yeah, constantly found us not finding things in common or talking about how bored you are with school. Even found a streak of a week where you didn't reply so can't say we had too much of a connection. You seem like a cool cat and it's a bummer we weren't able to hit it off. Credit to give where credit is due though – a great effort for making it to merge with two lives, because we all know that wasn’t easy.

Jack: The keyboard smash king! You never really spoke to me in sentences that had more than 4 words but I kind of enjoyed the change of pace compared to everyone else so thank you for that!

MJ: I still feel sort-of bad about how your tribal went down. It sucked having to lie to you and act like I didn't know what was going on. I feel like we did grow close during our time together though and I had a blast talking to you everyday. You should be proud of your game, and I think had you not gone when you did, you could've slid all the way to the end and been part of some really crucial votes along the way. Hopefully we can be friends after the game!

i had a blast. i made it 28 days. i made it past the merge um im happy. i am content and i went out with a great win and i went out as team captain for my team today and… y’know… im just… im really happy im content im in a pleasant place and i have absolutely no regrets.i feel like i owe nobody an apology, not even mySELF. im PROUD. um.. in saying that i apologize for something means that i have regrets and i have no regrets whatsoever. i made it far. i made it 28 days and i didn’t even think that i was gonna make it THAT far.. soo… to say that i did that is a hell of an accomplishment for me.. and… im just…. im happy to say that.. that i was ON survivor.. and that i went to nicaragua.. and… it’s truly a blessing!

Wes: On a purely game-related leveI think we were always going opposed to each other. I’m not sure if you felt the same way, but I felt that we just wouldn’t have room for each other in our plans. I respect your gameplay immensely though, and it’s been really cool to see just how great of a player you have become since your days in season 5, Redemption Island.

Jimmy: Gees we had a weird run, at the start it was all cool and we ended up getting chucked on the same tribe which was awesome. Then things got weird after the whole Jessy fiasco and we both sort of just left each alone until merge where I thought we better get our shit together. I appreciated we didn't end on a shitty note because I thought you were awesome guy! Still stoked I received the out-of-the-blue half selfie on one of your drunken adventures lol

Jack: I hope you believe that when you went home, I was really REALLY trying to save you. Genuinely I wanted to repay you for screwing you over multiple time throughout the course of this game. I was drawing out football plays on my whiteboard just trying to get people to listen but it was to no avail. Just know what I tried to do for you changed the duration of how the game was played out and you were a very important player. I hope you don’t hate me even though I’m a snake and I hope we can be friends.

MJ: Bich........... I cannot even put into words how much fun I had with you this time around. I'm so glad this season sucked so much for you that you had to work with ME of all people <3. Turns out you leaving at final 10 was a mistake for everyone, though, so i think you should have some pride in that! But seriously, I had a blast legitimately working with you this time around, and I wish we could've gone all the way together.

Throughout this game, I wasn't me. I was a still-life trapped in eternity. I was a focal point, out of focus, out of ink. But it had some fun moments.

Wes: Goddammit Pat. Playing this game with you was a blast and you’re one of the best allies I’ve ever had. I don’t really know what happened but I felt like you sort of drifted away, or you ended up thinking a different way forward was better for you, but I can’t help but feel like you kind of fell of your own sword at the end, from my perspective at least. I’m looking forward to talking to you more after this game is over.

Jimmy: Pat is just a downright dude. We regularly just had good chats, like you'd easily fit in with the fellas I hang out with while drinking a beer. Had some of the best convos with you over the last two months. Game wise, you sprung up as a bit of a powerhouse, had your fingers in a lot of pies and you were doing it really well. You played a killer game man and I'm pretty glad you're not still around for that reason. Looking forward to one day being able to sit down and share some blokey tales over a couple of pints!

Jack: Your vote out honestly shaped how the rest of the game turned out. I loved every call that we had together, ever since the original Andaman tribe. While you never joined the opening tribe call I made sure that I became friends with you because my mom always said good things about you!. Through Survivor Maryland and how Andaman played out, I knew you and I were going to be close. Although my schedule at times made it difficult to keep up with the viewings just know that I wish I could have kept up with them. I hope we can finish Maryland Outback after this game is over and continue being friends!

MJ: Blindsiding you the first time was fun, but the second time was so, so much better. ;) In all seriousness, I really, really wish we started this game on the same tribe, because I feel like lots of things would've gone differently this season. We were definitely like two ships in the night that just, sailed past each other. As always though, you should be incredibly proud of yourself and the game that you played. There's a reason you're always considered one of the biggest threats.

When I came into this season I didn’t feel like I belonged amongst all these big names, and I still don’t, it was exhausting to even attempt to keep up with them….but I still tried and to be fair, I surprised myself that I made it this far like, whoda thunk it seeing me get voted out in episode 4 but still making it well into merge, only to get double idoled out, like what a freaking journey, now all I hope is that I made my friends proud and thanks hosts for giving this flop a chance <3 Thanks for the Golden Apple btw and Love to my Aeolian and Myanmar fam I did this for you <3

Wes: Steffen, you’re a really awesome person and I love that we were able to move past the stuff that happened premerge (like that one time you voted me out) and become friends. I still laugh about some of the conversations we had and how over-the-top awkward they were sometimes, and being able to end up working together despite it. I was hoping you’d go far in this game too, but people saw that you were a threat to win, no doubt about it.

Jimmy: One of the reasons I keep putting myself through these games is because I meet champion people, and Steffen is no exception, but rather a shining example. Immediately off the bat we hit it off and I’m stoked to be able to make a mate out of this. We had the best convos that would last for ages and you'd hang around late just for a chat which I really came to appreciate most. It took ages for us to finally be in the same vote and even then, we only just stumbled our way to achieving working together at least once. Definitely stoked we met this game and I'm keen to make it on your Tumblr Survivor wall soon as you pop on over for a visit!

Jack: Steffen, you know there are a million reasons why you’re very important to me (Am I going to announce them publicly? Nah…but you know!) Just know that your constant paranoia and your quirky charm really sparked the fun back into the game for me when I was hitting that rough patch in my life. Thank you so much for that and I’ll talk to you soon!

MJ: I had so much fun w you this season faking a showmance in the main chat. Good times. I wish we could've actually had our movie date, but if ur still open to it, we can after the season ;) Also, congrats on going out at the craziest tribal council this season. Wear that badge with pride.

It's bad karma to give someone the same placement twice, now matter how iconic it is, so just let that fester for a second. That being said, the real tragedy of this season was there not being a 'most fake' category during Touchy Subjects. Good game, good luck, good night Tumblr Survivor.

Wes: There were a bunch of people that told me how happy they would be to vote for you to win if you were able to make it to the finals. I always felt that you were silently waiting for the perfect time to strike with a huge power move. Though, I couldn’t help but feel like you didn’t like me very much, and didn’t want to talk to me the (admittedly few) times I tried to. I hope I’m wrong, at least on a personal level? Anyhow, we were both on opposing sides of the field and we both were loyal to the people that helped us get to where we were, and I deeply respect that about you.

Jimmy: It's not true what they say about Jenn being a pile of shit, she's not that bad - just a piece of shit. Na Jenn's a downright legend and there's no doubt about it. Had absolutely no clue you were going to be playing this and I was mixture of shocked, surprised and stoked when you popped up in the reveal. Having you around definitely made me feel more comfortable kicking back into Survivor-mode after a bunch of time off, and trying to do new things. Who else was going to be my ranting buddy? You've been the best ally and my best friend around here, more than what I would have thought was possible to gain in playing these online games. Extremely happy to have a last hurrah together! Come your Australia trip it's going to be a riot and very much look forward to the day when I can give you a big ole bear hug to thanks for it all <3

Jack: Jenn! One of the nicest people I think I have ever played a game with, and I mean that genuinely. When we were working together, I had a blast. All of our calls were something I was looking forward too and unfortunately, it came down to the point where you were a serious threat in this game, and I could no longer ride it out with Triple J 3.0. I am glad that I was on call with you when it happened because that was probably some of the best sportsmanship I have seen in a game ever!

MJ: I truly had a great time playing with you this season. You were loyal, yet always ready to make a move against those you weren't closest to. You're by far one of the most skilled players I've ever played with, so I'm glad I got the chance to play with you, and at times, against you. My favorite round this season was the one Pat left, because despite you wanting me out, and me wanting Kait out the previous round, we managed to pull ourselves back together and make a huge move just a couple of days later. A player like yourself really enhances the experience of a season like this. I really do feel like we were able to grow at least somewhat closer to each other throughout this experience, and I hope you feel the same way.

this was fun, then it wasn't. remember not to be a piece of shit to your friends and always look cute. regardless, another sixth place isn't that cute of a look but it is what it is. hello "retirement" i'm poppin bottles now!!!!!!

Wes: Holy shit. You are a frightening player to go up against. You’re definitely one of the best players in the community, and you were able to keep extremely loyal allies very deep into this game despite how huge of a player you were. I did enjoy talking to you when we did, even though it awkwardly never turned into much about game strategy. I definitely knew I had no place in your game plans and you probably felt the same way about me.

Jimmy: Kait mate, finally after a year we could actually have each other's back in a game. I meant it when I told you that the most promising and exciting aspect of this game was getting to Dream Team with yourself and Jenn. I was getting to trio up with a pair of the most amazing women around these parts and I was given a crack at lifting myself up to your standards. And while undoubtedly we had ups and downs between us with a couple of fights and disagreements occurring, it was still a blast being in the #MalaysiaCult gg Jenn/Jimmy/Kait! Look very much forward to the time we finally get our shit together and get smashed on call for a Family Drinking Night <3

Jack: Kait, Kait, Kait. You are probably one of the smartest people in this game, mostly because you can sense my bullshit from the minute I open my mouth and you made it really tough for me to maneuver through this game! I have no ill feelings towards you and I hope we can reunite Malaysia after the game!

MJ: Don't really know what to say here considering you removed me as a contact on Skype, so I don't really think you'd even want a Rites of Passage from me. But at any rate, playing with you is fun, and at times frustrating, but overall you're one of the main reasons why I've enjoyed this experience so much. I'd really hope that you understand that this entire time, I've been doing what was best for me and gives me the best shot at getting to the end with a case for myself. I would have loved to go to the end with you, but I never imagined a scenario where a jury would reward my gameplay or approach to the game over yours. Thanks for playing your idol on me, standing up for me, and valuing me as an ally. And although I ultimately turned my back on you, you were easily the second most valuable person to my game. If you feel like I crossed the line in this game and choose not to be my friend when this is all over, that's fine and I completely understand, but I really hope that that's not the case, and I would hope that the friendship we have transcends the decisions that either of us made in this game.

I mean..... lol I tried? I had a lot of fun this game even until the very last few seconds. While I can say I think I made more mistakes than anyone, I got a chance to play a completely different way than I ever have before. Playing from the bottom up is...an experience and I learned a lot. All of us earned the title of All Star and proved that these last few months, we should all be proud. I think the hosts all did an amazing job hosting two seasons at once and torturing us all juuuust the right amount, so I want to make sure I thank them.

Wes: Is there even such thing as a more iconic dynamic duo? If you would have told me we would have become close allies with you again I would have laughed, but I loved being able to play with you again. I loved our strategy calls where we would call each other idiots for some of the ideas we had or things we did. I loved playing Slither.io even after we didn’t have to for immunity anymore. I loved when we all came together on Thotse and came up with a way to get through that tribal without actually turning against each other. I loved getting you to fucking waste an idol on me even after how I royally betrayed you in our first game together. I loved being able to give away individual immunity a second time to save you this time instead of screwing you over. My only regret is that I couldn’t do more for you. This game would have been a lot less fun without you. Thanks.

Jimmy: I think you got the roughest deal of them when it came to being my mate. As it was with Steffen, I'm really happy to have met you this game and you're very much a legend to me! I really enjoyed our calls where we could slip in and out of important stuff while chucking in banter and smack talk at each other on the reg. I think you did an amazing job this game - you regularly got the rough end of the stick (regularly with me playing part) but you still managed to tough it out to gain an extremely respectable 5th place. And even more so, even though we kept not helping each other, I loved that we could have some fun. Happy to have picked up another mate during this shambles of a game ☺

Jack: This vote probably hurt me the most, but it was something that had to be done for my game. I think over the course of this game, our friendship has strengthened. We were together since Denali, and when that rough patch hit, I really hoped we would somehow rekindle our relationship and we did! I loved talking to you and I loved calling you. Through the 100, you recommending Heath Ledger movies for my dates, talking about my boy “problems”, and finally realizing we both love Dance Academy, I think we definitely have become really close friends. I hope after this game you and I can continue being friends because I appreciated every moment I had with you.

MJ: Ahhhh… We truly had a roller coaster of a relationship and strategic partnership in this game. I'm glad we managed to put everything aside at the end of the day and make a couple of more moves together at the end. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the game with you and all the calls we had. You were such a good sport about your tribal, and I think that really shows your appreciation for this game, and your skill/maturity as a player in it. You had a really tough go this season, definitely more than your two other runs, but you should be proud of the game you played nonetheless. I'm so happy that we were able to create and develop our friendship throughout this season. Using this game as a tool to create or repair a relationship is one the best aspects of it, so I'm glad we did that, and I hope we can be friends after the game!
