Actually, I have been wondering about this for a while but can I ask about your lore when it comes to spirits and powers surrounding them? 🤔😆 Cause with me writing up my ghost lore so that it corresponds to my flame lore, I got curious how spirits work in your verse!

Some questions I have:

What do you define spirits as? How do they come into being?

Are there different type of spirits and if so how do you categorize them?

How can spirits interact with the material world? Also I would be interested about the possession works too! Like do you need to meet a certain criteria to be possessed or can it happen to anyone? Can you fight possession after it happened or do you need someone else that helps you out?

Honestly, the lore isn't mine it's cultural/religious djdjd it's why I focus on jinns mainly because I know of them most, haha. Ruxaan are spirits attached to a family, and I brought it up because I know families that have ruxaan! The way I was incorporating it into KHR doesn't really have anything to do with the flames, tbh. I focus on the fact that in KHR aliens, ghosts, and psychics are all canon [the aliens not even being the first earthers but due to eldlive and khr taking place in the same universe fjdjkd] so I figured "why not expand on how the supernatural exist?" I've always had a connect and fondness to the spiritual/supernatural so whenever I can I play with it. All that said...

Honestly I consider "spirits" an umbrella term. It's just non-human beings who's forms aren't seen to the average human's naked eye when its not the witching hour/they don't choose to reveal themselves etc. Examples: ruxaan, jinns, ghosts...

Ghosts are the remnants of a person's soul, I imagine...? The lingering feelings left behind. Meanwhile jinns and ruxaan are actually alive, it's just that regular humans typically can't see them. I find it super interesting tbh because it's said that jinns consider us to be...disabled, I suppose? Blind and therefore it can't be helped that we bump into them. This isn't every jinn, though, because they're as varied as people are. Some will forgive being bumped into and some wouldn't. But yeah they came into being like any human would have: they were born. Unlike humans though they have veeeery long life spans. Jinns and ruxaan can move between planes so it's easy for them to come and go between our world and theirs. Also, because they're like humans, some may have dying will flames too.

Not too sure about ghosts but from what I know and in KHR it seems more like the remnants of a spirit left behind? And how the spirit acts will depend on the person's personality when alive + the strongest feelings felt when death, I suppose. It's something I'm still wondering about and plan to play with some more but it's what I'm thinking so far! Example: Daemon Spade's ghost having been twisted after death due to the intense anger and betrayal he felt. It's why I imagine he became an evil spirit. Also it seems, in KHR, that whether ghosts can come through or not may be dependant on their strength? Romeo could only come during a specific time when the planes were weaker iirc? [During the challenge in the summer!] Meanwhile Daemon was able to not only be on the human plane but reside there for who knows how long. I imagine the difference was in their strength and determination. Daemon is a ghost with dying will flames and Romeo isn't.

Can you fight possession? You may be able to fight for control over the body but that's dependent on your strength versus the intruders, the state of your spirit as well, I think. Unconsensual possession weakens the spirit so you're already working at a disadvantage if that happens. Generally you'll need to be exorcised.
