Songs That Remind Them of You (MLQC Headcannons)
Victor
Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Elton John)- Victor is a sucker for romantic-style music, and this song is no exception. He can't help but imagine dueting this song with you whenever it plays softly in the background while he's making your favorite caramel pudding.
Adore You (Harry Styles)- He would never admit it, but this man just wants to shower you in affection. His favorite moments are when he gets to hold you in his arms and he can just gaze at you with the insane amount of joy, admiration, love, and unfiltered affection that only you get to see. He's been searching for you for a very long time, and he's going to cherish every second of being with you.
Still the One (One Direction)- He would never admit he ever listens to this song because like hell is anyone going to find out that he listens to boy bands, but this song's lyrics strike all the right chords with him. He loves the message it sends because its the very message he will always reiterate to you when you feel like you're not enough or he could do better. Its you, its always been you.
Lucien
Dark Side (Kelly Clarkson)- This man has a hard time knowing that you love him and are blissfully unaware of the monster that lurks just below the surface. He often finds himself wondering if you would still love him if he were just Ares, or if you would leave after you found out all of the things he had done for the sake of progress. But every time you wrap your arms around him or smile at him, all those worries melt away because he feels true emotion when he looks at you.
Its Gonna Be Me (NSYNC)- He knows that anyone in this world can have you, and it would kill him if you chose anyone else besides him. So he wants to make absolutely sure that he will never even have to think about letting his beautiful butterfly go. He is forever yours, and you will be forever his, even if it takes an eternity for that to happen.
Line Without A Hook (Ricky Montgomery)- This song mainly applies after Lucien no longer remembers MC, because I feel like it accurately describes how he feels. He knows MC doesn't trust him and is purposefully being distant, but at the same time the feelings that the other him felt are slowly trickling in and before long he's wishing that he could fix whatever it was that was tearing MC up so bad inside. And he knows that as he is, he's no good for you. But that doesn't mean that he isn't going to ignore the voice of reason in his head like the other him did and try his hardest to be what he once was for you.
Kiro
Fight For This Love (Cheryl)- Kiro knows that with him being a huge pop idol that sometimes the pressure gets to you. And he wants you to know he is always there and will be there next to you to fight through the thick and thin. He always wants to be with his favorite person ever, and will do whatever it takes to make sure that you're okay and he can be there to experience everything life has to offer with you, and to assure you that you are worth it.
100% Pure Love (Crystal Waters)- True to the name of the song, everything that Kiro feels (well almost everything, if you get what I mean) comes from the purest parts of him. He always wants you to be the happiest you can, always making sure that you have a bright smile on your face. And he knows what you two have is something people could only dream of, and having you in his arms is the best thing that ever happened since he met you again at that convenience store.
Price Tag (Jessie J)- He knows that when you two are together, nothing else matters. He knows you're not with him just because he's Kiro the superstar, but because he's Kiro. The bubbly 22 year-old who has an affinity for sweets and puppies with an adventurous streak. And he knows that if you two are next to each other, you wouldn't need anything else to have a good time.
Gavin
Treasure (Bruno Mars)- Honey, you are the center of this man's universe. He had treasured you since the first day he laid eyes on you, and wanted nothing more than to be by your side. And now that he is, he is over the moon. He may not be able to shower you in lavish gifts like some of the others, but every single moment you two spend together more than makes up from it, whether its a picnic under the stars or a midnight flight.
What A Man Gotta Do (The Jonas Brothers)- This brings back some of his older memories, back from the high school days. He was so shy when it came to you, and he never even knew how to approach you the majority of the time. So he always watched from the distance, wondering what he could do to get you to notice him. The song allows him to reflect on those cringey memories with a smile, and let him enjoy the fact that you were his, even after all that had happened.
Loving You Tonight (Andrew Allen)- This man can't wait to come home and just lay in your arms, or have you lay in his arms. His favorite moments are the ones of pure domesticity, things he never saw between his mother and father when he was younger. It feels so pure and freeing, and just so right. He loves every moment of it, and wouldn't have it any other way.
Helios
Popular Monster (Falling in Reverse)- While Helios is indeed a person, Helios is somewhat of a character that Kiro is playing. Its the side of him that he can't show to the world. He has killed people to protect others, to protect you, and in that way, he's exactly as the title reads, a popular monster.
Therefore I Am (Billie Eilish)- As Helios, he knows that everything relies on technique and execution, so he has completely shut out emotional functions for the most part, except when he's around you. But because Kiro is such a good actor, its very hard to tell. He knows that he's that bitch, and is not afraid to prove it, being blunt about literally everything. But he also knows that you have the perseverance of a God, to the point that its stupid, but as you build the confidence that comes with the identity of your Evol, he sees you growing in a way that he could have never taught you as Kiro.
Cigarette Duet (Princess Chelsea)- Helios knows that he can't associate with you as much as when he was Kiro because Black Swan is a bitch, but one thing he always wants to make sure is that you haven't fallen down and devolved into bad habits. The one thing that didn't leave Helios was his ability to care specifically about you, and even thinking that you would get into a habit that would harm yourself makes his blood boil. So he always makes sure you've remained drug-free and that you see him just enough that it won't get him in trouble and can give you comfort.
Shaw
No Roots (Alice Merton)- Shaw's idea of you is something much like how Victor saw you in the beginning. Someone who thrust themselves into something way over their head and now had to deal with the consequences of it. The only reason he believed you was because he knew of things (the man has his ways) and decided to help you because he found you just interesting enough that he thought it might be fun. But he found himself envying the fact that you didn't have a past in this world, and that you were free to do whatever you pleased without a reputation preceding you. He didn't like the fact that it caused you pain, but thanks to his asshole of a father the idea sounded a little too good to him.
Sad Girl (Lana Del Rey)- Shaw often found you moping around at first, mourning the fact that you had lost everything. But in the end, he was the one who helped you get over it, getting you back to your normal self. He still catches glimpses of that depressed look in your eyes, and always makes sure to lighten up on the teasing when he does see it. He never got the chance to be a kid and grow up properly, so he couldn't fathom exactly how hard it was for you. But he still tried.
White Tee (CORPSE)- We all know Shaw would be more into the punk style, and his music taste is no exception. He likes listening to mostly emo style music, and dabbles into a little bit of everything when he feels like it. However, this song mixes together his anger at the world for giving him such a shit childhood and the fact that with you he feels like he can start fresh. Because even though everyone else falls into the same category with him, you were different, and he wanted to explore that kind of different.

LETS TALK ABOUT CN! let me know your thoughts!
pls rb to share! <3
It’s been a while since you ever felt happy again.
You missed the way you would laugh with your friends freely, or the way you feel yourself blush, making the corners of your lips turn up into a smile. But ever since that day, something inside of you switched.
Ever since that day, you weren’t the same person anymore. You held so much pain and anger inside of your heart that there couldn’t have possibly been anyone to switch that back to your normal, besides one person of course.
But the pain and anger wasn’t just from that one day; it was the built up emotions you kept inside of you for years causing you to lash out, and that day was the last straw.
A week after that horrid day, you were able to get out of bed as you left your ruffled warm sheets and tear damped pillowcases. Frances and Alice had told the staff you weren’t feeling well that entire week, and luckily they understood and were able to find a replacement for your class.
You didn’t get out of your room until everyone in the house had left in the morning, which was about eight a.m, and you were locked away in your room before they were able to see you as they arrived home. You really didn’t want to see anyone; the presence of any other breathing soul was out of your favor during that week as you just wanted to wallow your way through the days.
You figured, after that week, that you needed to get back to work. It wasn’t like you to be so in your feelings and to practically stay in bed for an entire week, but the pain was so very different from anything else you’ve ever felt. You missed him dearly, that’s a given. And if you couldn’t be with him, then you were fine with just being friends. His presence around you is what you really wanted; you just needed him to be around, but you couldn’t get into contact with him--it was like he fell on the face of the earth.
On your first day back, you had a morning class as did Frances, so she wanted to pick you up and get coffee before you both headed to work. Alice had a class later that day, so it was just the two of you. But you enjoyed spending time with them individually.
“Hey, doll! Hop in,” Frances smiled, tapping the leather seat beside her, and you got into her lavender Chevrolet convertible.
“Thanks for picking me up,” you said softly, looking at her. She smiled, turning your head to look at you, and finding such a heartbroken woman who desperately needed some sleep from the heartache and exhaustion.
“Anything for you,” she said back, grabbing your hand as she drove.
Frances had picked you up an hour earlier than when classes began, wanting to just talk and listen to you, and if you didn’t want to do either, she just wanted to keep you company, wanting to be there for you.
The car was parked on the curb in front of the coffeehouse, which was around the corner from the studio. As you walked in, you were met with the aroma of fresh brewed coffee; the scent filled your senses as you felt as if you were in a cabin in front of the fire on a cold day. It was definitely not a cold day as you wore black shorts that stopped mid thigh and a cropped black t-shirt; Frances was wearing the same, but she wore white shorts and a baby purple cropped tee, and you loved how much she loved the color lavender.
“Go find us a table,” she said, insisting on paying for the coffee. The coffeehouse wasn’t that packed—a few people working as they wrote or read the newspaper.
You found a seat next to the window on the side of the shop, and waited for your hot drink as you watched the sun proceed to get brighter and brighter as the minutes went by, and you were too distracted to notice Frances sitting in front of you, drinking her coffee, and you assumed she might’ve been sitting in front of you for a while.
“Thank you for the coffee,” you said, picking the hot drink up and blowing on it for it to cool down.
“Of course.”
It was completely silent between you two as you both drank your coffees and enjoyed the comfortable silence. It was times like these where you appreciated Frances. Without a doubt you love your little group, but when the three of you are together, it can be very chaotic—fun but chaotic to the point where you’re a bit overwhelmed. But with Frances, you were able to be comfortable in just sitting across from one another without saying a word. She knew how to have fun agreeably, but she knew how to be that friend that let you take your time or to simply just keep you company when you’re feeling lonely.
After a while, you looked at her, and she was already looking at you, but her eyes perked up and she had a bright smile on her face.
“Thank you again, doll-”
“You need to stop thanking me,” she giggled, causing the corners of your mouth to turn up slightly.
“I mean it though. I can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done—Alice too. You always call me to see if I’m fine, and you picked me up, like that’s so sweet of you,” you said, tears welling up in your eyes. She reached her hand across the table to hold yours.
“Of course, I’m gonna be here for you. We’re best friends—have been for years now. And you’ve been through a lot. It’s time we hold some of the weight for you,” she said with a small nod. Her words caused the tears in your eyes to fall, like they triggered them to flow as they pleased because you’ve been wanting to hear those words for a long while now.
“You’re the best. I’m so thankful for you,” you said as you tried to contain your sobs. Frances got up from her seat and walked over to your side as you scored to the seat next to you so she could sit on the seat you were in prior.
She hugged you into her chest as you quietly sobbed into her neck while she soothed your back to comfort you. To outsiders, they were probably thinking how early it is for a breakdown, and you agreed, it was too early. However, you were in a bubble with your greatest friend as she was combing through your hair, comforting you through your greatest pain, and the outside world meant nothing at the moment.
It was 10 minutes before class started when you and Frances entered the studio the week after locking yourself up; Susan greeted you with a big smile as Frances said she’ll see you after class and walked down the opposite hallway.
“Welcome back, lady,” she had said with bright eyes. You softly smiled at her, immediately regretted agreeing to any social interaction--not that Susan wasn’t the sweetest person you’ve met, but you were still broken and sad.
“Hi, Susan,” you said to her as a pained smile on your face as you walked by her desk. But before you walked any further down the hall to your class, you backed up slightly to stand next to the reception desk. Her brows raised, waiting for you to speak. “Uh, did I happen to get any calls while I was away? Did someone call for me?” You asked warily, not knowing what answer you wanted to hear.
“Nope. No calls were made for you. It was a pretty slow week,” she replied back, her usual smile on her face. Your heart sank a little, hoping a certain someone would have called you.
“Tell me about it,” you had muttered under your breath. “Thank you though,” you spoke directly to her before you walked away.
And it was like that for the longest time; you asking Susan if you had gotten any calls after each class and her saying no. You figured she had caught on a bit from your constant asking, but it was a bit upsetting to hear that no every single time. You just wanted a single call from him; to ask him if he was okay, where he’s been, and to simply just hear his voice.
The voice that had brought you immediate comfort and ease from your crazy and busy life. The sound that was music to your ears when he laughed or talked to you in his deep sultry voice. And you just wanted him to tell you that he was okay. You could practically hear his voice in your head as if it were the only sound you memorized. The way he said ‘sweet girl’ was like the line in a song that you would repeat over and over again because it just gave you ultimate chills.
You heard so crisp and so clearly; he would say ‘sweet girl, I’m doing okay. Don’t worry about me.’ But you couldn’t help but worry about him.
You missed your honey dearly.
And you continued missing him.
Up until now, you hadn’t stopped thinking about him. Six months later, there was just something about him that never left your mind and especially your heart. The hole in your chest was enough to explain to yourself how you felt, and it wasn’t normal to feel this way.
“Hey! I know you’re in your feelings at the moment, but would you please sing along with us?” Alice asked from the seat next to you as you heard Frances mutter a ‘please’ from the backseat.
You three were on your way to San Diego for a little trip girls trip. Although it was January and the weather would most likely be cold, you three were still on break as the studio hadn’t resumed classes just yet because of the holiday. But they would be back on next week, so you three wanted to have a mini getaway for a little bit before you have to go back to reality.
“Okay, okay,” you playfully rolled your eyes at them as they saw your little gesture through your sunglasses.
The three of you sang along to Elvis as you drove to San Diego. It was still quite sunny despite the month being January, but the air was crisp and cool. Cold enough so you could wear a sweater and some pants since California cold is cold to Californians.
The drive was about a four hour drive from Beverly Hills, and you three stayed at a hotel walking distance from La Jolla beach. The trip was only three days because what’s really there to do besides go to the beach everyday, especially when it was cold out.
“Okay, dolls, are we ready to go?” Alice asked you and Frances as you all settled into the hotel. You two nodded excitedly, grabbing your towels and blankets before heading out of the hotel and to the beach.
You all figured out that the water was way too cold for a swim, but the sun was bright still as you three sat on your towels, all facing each other. You had bought some fruit for a little market that was on the way to the beach.
“Think we picked a good spot--so many cute people around,” Frances said. You looked around to observe some of the men and women that were relaxing on the sand or in their swimsuits. You nodded in agreement as you took a bite out of your watermelon slice.
“Ooh! I think that lady is looking at you doll,” Alice said excitedly. You looked at her and she pointed her head to the direction of the woman, and you turned your head slowly to find a beautiful woman in her swimsuit, smiling and waving at you. Politely, you smiled back at her.
“Are you going to go talk to her?” Frances asked, and you shrugged.
You knew that they were just trying to help the heartache in your chest that has been mending for the last six months. But if you still felt the same amount of pain as you did six months ago, you weren’t quite ready to move on yet.
“Think you need that, doll. How are you gonna move on if the only people you really socialize with are us two?” Alice said, and she had a point. It was difficult to move past everything because you’ve locked yourself away and only limited yourself to some social interaction with people you already know. “It’ll be a nice change. And if you don’t want to talk to her, then come back here and you could talk to us! At least you tried,” Alice reassured you, and Frances nodded alongside her.
You smiled softly at the both of them, and slowly nodded. You at least wanted to try, and being somewhere that’s four hours away from your home was a nice start. Handing your fruit to Frances, not wanting your fruit to get a sand flavor, and you got up. Your girls cheered you on, yelling out ‘that’s the spirit!’ and ‘so proud of you, doll’ as you slowly walked over to the woman who was sitting in her beach chair.
“Hi,” you nervously said to the woman.
“Hey, cutie. Was just looking at you,” she complimented with a smirk, looking up at you.
“Uh, yeah. My friends told me,” you said, turning around to point to them. But you also turned around just to see their reassuring smiles because you were actually quite nervous. And when you saw them beaming, giving you a thumbs up, you turned back around.
“Well, would you like to sit?” She offered, and you said a soft ‘okay’ before sitting down on the towel in front of her, practically at her feet. “I’m Catherine, by the way,” she said, sticking her hand out. She looked a bit older than you--probably in her late twenties. She had beautiful blonde hair that was put in a high ponytail as she wore a cream colored two piece swimsuit.
“Nice to meet you,” you said, shaking her hand as you told her your name.
“Such a beautiful name for you,” she winked at you, flirting with you slightly.
For the next thirty minutes, you and Catherine got to know one another, and you thought she was nice; she was very friendly, often stealing some innocent touches to your shoulder or your arm as she laughed about god knows what you said.
Suddenly, someone walked under the umbrella and Catherine handed the other woman a towel before she sat down on the beach chair next to Catherine’s. They smiled at each other, and you looked between them; a silence fell through you as they talked.
“The water felt great,” the woman said, and Catherine smiled, roaming her hand on the woman’s arm as she did to you.
“Oh, by the way. This is Milly, my girlfriend,” Catherine introduced. Your eyes widened, feeling shocked as she didn’t mention that she had a girlfriend when she was flirting with you and touching your arm.
“Hi, uhm, I should get back to my friends then,” you stood up from your crouch position, dusting your bottom off from the sand that had gotten on the towel.
“Wait, we actually want you to stay,” Milly said before you had a chance to walk away. “Catherine and I are together, but we were curious about exploring with another partner, and we both saw you sit with your friends, and thought you were absolutely gorgeous,” she explained.
You blushed, a bit flustered from what she said. You’ve never explored with two partners before, and you were curious as to how that’ll go down. But in total honesty, you weren’t feeling it.
“That’s nice of you, thank you for choosing me, I guess?” You chuckled, cursing at yourself for how dumb that sounded. “But to be honest, I’m a bit heartbroken at the moment, so I’m not in the mood,” you said honestly.
“Oh no, how could some girl break your heart?” Catherine said, assuming that it was a girl that got you sad.
“I-It wasn’t a girl, actually. It was a guy,” you corrected. Catherine and Milly looked at each other confusingly, and soon after Milly scoffed.
“Wait, so you don’t like girls?” Milly asked, needing some sort of confirmation.
“I do! I like men and women. I’m bisexual,” you said, crossing your arms in defense, feeling like this was all going to end badly.
“You like both...” Catherine said shockingly and you nodded as you took deep breaths. You tried keeping yourself together, not wanting to make a scene at the beach as everyone was minding their own business, as you looked at them with a stern look.
“So you just couldn’t choose,” Milly said. You gave her a scowl look, furrowing your brows as the two laughed slightly.
“There’s nothing wrong with that,” you said, rolling your eyes. You turned around, not wanting to be around the presence of people who put you down for your sexuality. So, you walked through the sand back to your friends as they were about fifteen feet away from the two. As you walked you heard them call out to you.
“We know being gay isn’t appreciated here, but you being greedy and liking both? Are you okay, sweetie?” They called out, followed by laughter.
Alice and Frances looked at each other confusingly, wondering what the hell happened back there before you grabbed your fruit bowl from Frances hands and marched back over to them, squishing the watermelon cubes with your hands so the juices of the fruit spilled out, and the fruit itself turned into mush. They didn’t see you coming as they were still laughing and making jokes about your sexuality.
And before you knew what you were doing, you dumped the entire bowl onto Catherine’s head, watching the fruit spill down her hair and onto her body as she gasped loudly. Milly gasped as well, shocked that you did such a thing.
“Next time you want to make fun of someone’s sexuality, think again. Don’t fuck with us, I mean it,” you warned as your voice was tough and strong; the complete opposite as what it was when you were talking to her. You walked away to your friends as you saw both of their jaws dropped with an amused look as they were still confused but totally backed you up on what you did, even if they haven’t gotten a clue why you did what you did.
Once you got back to them, you picked up your purse and said, “Let’s go.” The both of them nodded, excited to hear what just happened as you all gathered your stuff as you heard curse from Catherine and Milly calling you a greedy and spoiled bitch. As you walked, you turned around, blowing them a kiss for shits and giggles.
“Oh my god! What the fuck just happened?!” Frances asked as she laughed.
You three stopped in front of the hotel as they both followed your lead, sitting on the curb, both on your sides. As you took deep breaths, you had so much adrenaline from the events that had just happened, but not even a minute later, you started laughing hysterically, which Alice and Frances found amusing so they joined you.
“Oh god…” you said once you calmed down. “That was such a rush--I’ve never done that before,” you told them, chuckling.
“Well, you never do things without reason, so it must’ve been a great reason,” Alice said, leaning her elbows on her knees.
You then proceeded to tell them what happened from the moment you walked over to Catherine to the moment you felt so uncomfortable as they practically bullied you because of your sexuality.
“Yeah, she deserved that shit,” Frances said from next to you.
“Definitely. Can people just get over themselves and mind their own damn business?” Alice scoffed, rolling her eyes as she scoffed, saying that she would have done a lot more than throwing fruit on her if she were you.
“I’m so over people saying shit,” you said tiredly, wanting people to accept you as who you are, but in this day and age, it’s difficult to.
“Don’t worry about them, doll. You’ve got us,” Frances said, giving you a hug and Alice joins in as well, and you tell them that you love them. You put your arms around your two best friends, thinking that this is the most fun you’ve had in a very long time. And even though it caused a scene where you had to ruin someone’s hair and their swimsuit as they said nasty things to you, you had your dolls by your side, reminding yourself that no matter where you are in life mentally and physically, you’ll always have them.
And you appreciated that so much.
After an eventful day to start the trip, you decided you needed a drink. So, you three found yourself at a bar in Downtown as you chatted among them in a booth as you ate peanuts and drank one too many ‘gin and sins’ that made you buzzed and fuzzed.
But that didn’t stop you from ordering more for the three of you nor did that stop you from accepting cocktails from Alice because she kept ordering as well. And the only responsible one between the three of you was Frances, which isn’t old news. Sometimes she liked to get down and dirty, but she didn’t like to have too much alcohol in her system, which you totally respect.
But ‘gin and sins’ were your favorite, and when you said you needed a drink, you needed a drink.
“Alright, think that’s enough for the both of you,” Frances said, limiting you and Alice.
“Noo,” you whined. “One more? Please?” You reach across the table, making grabby hands at Frances. Alice nodded next to you. She was more tipsy than drunk, and you on the other hand, were drunk.
“You said that in the last four rounds! I’m cutting you off,” Frances said sternly, and your eyes widened.
“Damn, okay,” you said, slowly sitting up.
“We should go,” Alice suggested.
“No, you know what we should do? We should dance!” You suggested an even better choice, getting up from your seat as you danced in front of your table, Frances and Alice got out of the booth as well. You were shaking and swiveling your hips in a sexy manner, or you’re trying to be, and you’re not aware of the people coming into the bar and the people sitting peacefully in their seats as some watched you with an amusing smile or a confused expression. But you didn’t give a fuck as you kept dancing.
“Alright, dancing queen. Let’s go back to the hotel,” Alice said as you huffed and stopped dancing while you pouted.
As you three were walking out, Alice and Frances on both of your sides, helping you walk, five people came in all at once, causing you all to move to the side and wait for them to clear the door. You watched them walk in, and suddenly your eyes widened and you were complete shock.
Alice and Frances slightly rugged at you since you weren’t walking at all, but you told them to wait.
“What’s wrong?” Frances asked, and you let both of your arms go from their hold. They followed your line of vision and looked at each other in confusion.
“Doll?” Alice called out to you.
“Harry…”
“C’mon-” Frances said as she tried to interlace your arm with hers, but you interrupted her.
“No!” You took your arm away from her. “Harry is right there,” you pointed towards the bar, and their head turned. Tears were welling up in your eyes as you felt so overwhelmed from seeing him again for the first time in six months.
Before you knew what your drunk self was doing, you started walking towards the bar, and your friends quickly followed behind as they tried to reach for your arms, but you pulled them away before they could even grasp it. Once you got to the bar, you leaned your left arm against it as you faced him.
“Harry,” you simply said. The man turned towards you, looking at you confusingly, but you were still convinced that it was Harry right in front of you. “Listen…” you said, trailing your words off as you weren’t prepared whatsoever to have him in front of you.
After a whole six months of figuring what you would say to him if you were to meet him again; going through the words in your head and falling asleep to the thought of talking to him again, you stood there with your mouth slightly open but no words fell through your lips. A sad expression was present on your face as your mending heart was pounding through your chest, begging him to heal you fully.
He looked at you, wondering if you were going to say anything and possibly wondering why a random girl would go up to him and call him Harry. And it’s the fact that he wasn’t saying anything either is what hurt you too. But you decided to speak up because if you didn’t now, then you would regret it later.
“Harry…I missed you,” you said, voice slightly cracking just as your heart was as well. “Six months without you was hell, and I never want to go through that again. But if you don’t want to see me anymore, then that’s fine,” you told him, voice coming out in a sad tone as you didn’t want to go through your days without having him in your life.
“Doll, we should go,” Frances said as she and Alice lightly grabbed your arm and tugged you backwards. “I’m sorry,” you heard her tell him.
“Wait,” you said, and you reached up to the man and kissed his cheek softly. You didn’t care if it was Harry or not, but you’ve had pent up emotions for so long that you just needed to let them out. And even if it was Harry, you weren’t going to leave him without kissing him, although you’d rather it be his lips than his cheek as you longed to feel his lips against yours again.
You despised that your last kiss with him happened under those events that night. That it led to something so heartbreaking and painful that you didn’t know when you would feel his touch again. You didn’t get the chance to anticipate the next time you’d be in his arms again. That the last time you heard the words ‘sweet girl’ from his mouth was when he was trying to comfort you from the pain you were both about to endure. And it’s like a broken record in your head, playing over and over again, and you don’t want to fix the broken record because then your favorite sound would disappear into the midst of nothingness.
Alice and Frances pulled you away from him as they guided you towards the exit and back to the hotel. Not surprising, but you cried the entire way to the room until your friends put you under the covers and wiped your makeup off as you told them how much you missed Harry and you just wanted to talk to him; that seeing him at the bar, even if it wasn’t him, had made the sadness in your chest come back because of how much you missed him.
They simply didn’t know what to tell you but feel sad for you knowing how much pain you were in. They hated seeing you so upset to the point where you didn’t act like yourself anymore. But they will always remain by your side as they kept telling you that you were going to be okay.
You woke up in a small state of panic as you weren’t aware of your surroundings and the feeling of the bed not being your own. With a slight headache and the taste of the alcohol on your tongue the night prior, there were continuous knocks on the door that made you roll your eyes and groan as it interrupted your state of deep slumber.
Lazily, you got up and looked at the bed next to you to find it empty as Alice and Frances didn’t seem like they were in the room either. You assumed they probably went out to get some food and bring it back as they talked about, and you also assumed that they had forgotten the room key, which is why they were banging on the door at ten in the morning.
“Okay, I’m coming, jeez!” You yelled out as you rubbed your eyes and lightly yawned, walking towards the door. You unlocked the door, opening it as you looked down because of the light and said, “Why must you knock on the door so loud?” Once your eyes adjusted from the brightness of the outside, it widened as the figure in front of you was not who you were expecting.
You blinked a couple of times, not sure if you were dreaming or drunk as your jaw dropped, not expecting to see Harry in front of you.
“Hi,” he simply said. It was a simple greeting and you wished he said a full on sentence just so you could hear his voice again, but something in you freaked out, causing you to slam the door in his face.
“Oh my god…” you said to yourself as you paced the carpeted hotel room. You tugged on your hair, taking deep breaths as you muttered to yourself about how he can’t really be outside of your room right now and you were just hallucinating that he was here. But when you heard the knock again, you were taken back to reality as you jolted your head towards the door and realized that you completely shut the door in his face. “Fuck,” you muttered as you quickly walked towards the door, opening it once again and meeting his eyes.
Harry gave you a small smile as he took in your presence again. It was a long six months of missing you and wishing you were in his arms again. He longed to see your pretty face and beautiful smile again, and being in front of you felt a bit overwhelming for him that his heart pounded and his eyes glossed. He truly couldn’t believe he was standing in front of you, and even in your wakened state, he still found you the most beautiful person ever.
“Harry,” you said as if you were calling out to him, believing but not believing he was in your vision.
“Uh, hi,” he said again hesitantly. He was definitely nervous, and you were too.
“W-What…what are you doing here?” You asked, crossing your arms and subtly trying to fix your messy bed hair. But he looked great as usual; he wore a red and yellow striped t-shirt with some grey trousers, and pale yellow loafers. Harry was the type of person who could make anything look good, and you were absolutely jealous of him for that. He didn’t look all that different from when you last saw him; his hair was still the same, but he had a slight stubble on his jaw.
“I came here to see you.”
“How did you know I was here?” You leaned against the door, still debating in your head if you should invite him in or not.
“Frances and Alice. They told me to come to your room last night,” he said, chuckling slightly.
“Last night…” you said, not thinking anything of it. “Oh, last night!” You repeated, realizing that last night was the night you apparently saw him, and it seemed like you did. “Oh my god,” you said as you buried your face into your hands, groaning in embarrassment. “That really was you, huh?” You asked, not taking your hands away from your face, but separating your fingers as your eyes peeked out.
“Yeah, it was me at the bar,” he said, giggling as he remembered the events that happened last night.
“See, I knew it was you! I had the smallest doubt that it wasn’t but convinced myself that it was,” you shook your head, chuckling. “Wait, that means you heard everything, and I really kissed you,” you said as you gasped softly. Harry blushed in response as he smiled lightly at you. “How did you know I was there?”
“I didn’t. I was there with some friends and I didn’t see you until you came up to me. Was completely surprised to be honest. And then Alice came up to me, after Frances dragged you away, to tell me to come up to your room today. So here I am,” he explained, which makes much more sense on why they disappeared in the morning and why Harry’s standing at your door.
“Here you are,” you said softly. It briefly went silent between you two; so many unspoken words between you as you two wanted to blurt so many things out, but you really wanted to sit down and have a real and mature conversation with him. “So, uh, do you want to hang out today? Figured we have a lot to talk about.”
“I’d love to. I’m free the whole day, so we can do anything,” he said, and you nodded.
“Do you want to go down to the beach? I can just get ready quickly and we can hang out over there?” You asked nervously, even though he already said yes to hanging out with you.
“Yeah, okay. That sounds great. I’ll, uh, wait for you out here?” He said, backing up slightly from the door frame so he’s completely standing outside.
“Okay, cool,” you said, immediately slapping yourself mentally once those words came out of your mouth. Harry seemed to find that amusing as he laughed a bit as he saw you beating yourself up over what you had said.
“Cool,” he said back, in a way to make you feel better about saying it, and your face had gone flustered as you slowly closed the door.
“I’ll be quick.”
“I’ll be right here.”
You nodded your head as you closed the door, closing your eyes as you took the deepest breath that you were holding ever since you saw him.
“Really? Cool?” You said to yourself, rolling your eyes as you groaned before you quickly got ready.
You were ready in 15 minutes as you wore a plain white knitted sweater and some leggings, considering it was a bit breezy outside, and you and Harry walked to the beach. Luckily, the beach was only about a five minute walk, and the walk was filled with silence as nothing came out of both of your mouths.
It was a nice day out considering the month still being winter, as the sun was out and slightly shining with the clouds present. You and Harry found a spot on the beach where there weren't that many people around to interrupt you both from your conversation.
Laying the towel down, Harry helped you as he held the other end to straighten it out, and you two sat next to each other. There was a bit of space between you two, and it definitely felt weird that you didn’t close the gap to sit closer to him, but in all honesty, you didn’t know if that was crossing the line. Plus, you didn’t know where you two stood either.
Your heart was pounding as you kept your hands in your lap from showing him how shakily nervous you were to be finally sitting next to him. And Harry was no better; he wasn’t saying anything because of the fact that he was also anxious as well. He was nervous that he would say the wrong thing to you, and he didn’t know if you were angry with him for disappearing for a whole six months.
After ten minutes of looking out into the ocean as the sun lightly hit your skins, you finally spoke.
“So…” you started, not finishing nor knowing what to say. Harry turned towards you, thankful that you were the one to start talking. “How are you, Harry?” You asked, and he somewhat cringed at the sound of his name as he missed the way ‘honey’ fell through your sweet lips.
“I’m, uh, I’m doing okay. How are you?” He answered, and you just shrugged your shoulders as you sighed. “Are you doing okay?”
“Y’know, I thought I was—doing okay. I mean, I was better than I was six months ago, but seeing you…” you said, looking him in the eye as memories of him leaving and running off came back to you. But you knew it wasn’t his fault; he did what he had and was told to do. “It just reminded me how much I missed you so much. And how much the last six months for me were hell because you weren’t around and I didn’t have contact with you,” you purse your lips, and Harry frowned, feeling guilty for not even calling you back.
“I’m sorry-”
“No, no. Don’t be. I understand,” you interrupted, but he shook his head in disagreement.
“Listen, not calling you was entirely my fault—I could’ve just…” he trailed off, not knowing how to word his thought properly.
“Harry, what happened during those months? I called and called, I stayed in front of your apartment complex and waited for you for hours, but you never showed up,” you said, not meaning to make him feel bad, but you were telling the truth. Harry frowned even more, looking down onto his lap.
Taking a deep breath, he looked up at you again as he spoke, “Okay. I’m going to tell you everything, just listen to what I have to say first before you decide if you want to be angry with me, alright?”
You nodded, not saying anything as you waited to hear what he had to say. But you knew you weren’t going to get angry with him, you simply just wanted to hear what the hell happened to him and why he went M.I.A for six months.
“After that night,” he started, not explaining any further of what that night was because you already knew, and it was hard to look and talk about what happened that day. “A few days later, I got a call from Shareen. She told me to come to the studio for a chat, and I thought it was going to be about the role. That maybe your father had a change of heart and decided to cast me, but I was wrong.”
Your brows furrowed, already furious that Harry going missing could have possibly involved Richard and you despised him even more for that, but you continued listening.
“I went to Shareen’s office, but she directed me to your father’s, and he said he wanted to talk to me. Was practically nervous at this point.”
“Harry, what did he say?” You asked as you grew impatient.
“Told me that if I stayed away from you, then he wouldn’t ruin the career that hadn’t even started. He said that he’s not going to cast me for the movie I auditioned for, but maybe the next one,” Harry said sadly, remembering how down he felt when he left his office and the studio. He was so close to having the career he wanted; so close to having his dream come true, but they were crushed right in front of him in the matter of seconds.
“What the actual fuck…” you said in a calm manner as you were trying not to lash out in public and in front of Harry.
“Hey, I’m so sorry. That’s the reason why I didn’t call because he told me to stay away, and it was hard to and I should’ve gone against his wishes, but it’s my career, y’know? I couldn’t risk not having my dream come true, and I hope you understand why I didn’t come to see you anymore. But know that it was a difficult decision to make because I was close to risking everything for you until Daren slapped some sense into me,” he explained quickly, not wanting you to be mad at him, but he would be if he were you.
“No, no. I’m not mad at you,” you said as your hand touched his face, cupping his cheek. Harry immediately got chills from the contact, and he missed your touch dearly. “I understand why you did what you had to do. You made a sacrifice for yourself, so I would never be mad at you for that. If you were to give up everything for me, then I would be mad,” you said softly, looking at the man that has had your heart for the last months.
“So, you’re not mad?” He asked, needing reassurance.
“No, of course not, honey. I’m glad you had to do what was best for you,” you told him honestly. “Yeah, it hurt not being able to talk to you or see you, and practically not know where you were, but look at us now. We’re right in front of each other and that’s all that matters.”
It was really all that mattered to you. You were never one to hold onto your anger and you were very forgiving in the sense, but being mad or upset at Harry didn’t exist because he did everything with good reason.
Harry blushed at the sound of his pet name coming from your lips. Missing that name was an understatement; he longed to hear it again, and throughout those months, he had no idea when he would hear it, but now it was the sound of relief and reunion.
“I’ve missed you calling me that,” he said, face being flustered. You moved to lay on your stomach, and he copied your actions as you two lay, facing each other.
The sun was getting a bit brighter, so Harry pulled out his sunglasses, putting them on and you gave him a smile. You were already wearing white heart sunglasses, but you took your pair off and reached forward to take his sunglasses off, and put them on you. They were a pair of red lensed sunglasses that were heart shaped as well, and you adored them. Harry chuckled as you put your sunglasses on him.
“These are like the glasses I would wear. Did you take them from me?” You teased, and Harry giggled, adjusting your white heart sunglasses on his face.
“I bought them because they reminded me of you,” he said honestly, and you blushed, smiling at him softly. Your heart instantly swooned once he said those words, and all you wanted to do was kiss him. “They look better on you anyways,” he complimented.
“Those look really good on you too,” you said back. You missed the back and forth, complimenting or banter with him. It was fun and light, and made you want more with him. It was something you thought about daily when you were away from him, and having it back made you feel so overwhelmed with happiness and joy.
“So, what’s been going on with you?” He asked after the glances that you two made each other made him flustered.
“Guess it’s my turn to tell my part, huh?” You chuckled,
“Only if you want to. I’m here to listen if you’d like,” he said. You smiled, happy he never changed his mannerism. He’s always been a gentleman to you and everyone, and that’s one of the things you loved about him.
“I wanna tell you,” you stated, and Harry nodded, waiting for you patiently to speak. “I wasn’t really doing okay, to be honest. I was a mess, and I haven’t really been myself since that day. Watching you leave was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, and not knowing when I would see you again comes right next to it. After about two months, I finally talked to my father. That ended messy because he had all these plans for me with my ex, Chris, about business and marriage and I never wanted them. Then it got to the point where I was crying in front of him because you weren’t in my life anymore. And I’ve never cried in front of him before, so it was quite the surprise for him,” you ended with a chuckle, and Harry nodded his head throughout you speaking, listening to you intently and taking your words in.
“Did things get better?” Harry asked, curiously, wondering if her father changed his attitude.
“No. He said some shit about if I can’t tolerate him or proceed with his plans, then I should move out. So, I did just that.” Harry’s eyes widened, shocked but relieved because you were somewhat free.
“You did?”
“Yeah, I’ve been living with Frances for about four months now, but I might move out soon just to get out of her hair, so we can have her own space. But I’m better now than I was for my entire 23 years of life when I was in that house,” you said in almost a relief. You’ve practically been miserable in that household; filled with toxicity and loveless people.
Jane had been sad to see you go, but she still encouraged you. She was the hardest one to say goodbye to, but she understood why you wanted to leave. There had been many tears as she watched you pack your suitcase into your car, and she sent you off with telling you to find the boy that “captured your heart.”
“I’m proud of you for doing that. I know you didn’t tell me much about your family and how you grew up, but from what it seemed like, you weren’t happy there. So I’m glad you have your freedom now,” he said honestly with a smile, not wanting you to seem offended. And you weren’t because he was completely right.
For a moment, you two shared glances and basked in the sun as you both laid under it. There was no action of moving closer than how you were now, but the thought of doing so made you both nervous.
“Are you still working at Sweetland?” You asked suddenly but curiously, breaking the silence between you two as the outside world of the ocean and birds filled the words.
“No, I’m not, actually. I quit about two months ago, but I still visit every week because I’ve grown quite attached to everyone there,” he said with a breathy laugh.
“Why did you quit, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“I kind of wanted a different job, and I wanted to do something I was good at. Not sure if sex is the answer to that,” he smirked, and your eyes widened.
“Oh, you’re definitely good at sex-” you paused as your cheeks had gone flustered because of what you said. “I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to say that out loud, and that was definitely crossing-”
Harry interrupted your rambling by stroking your cheek with his thumb. The action had caught you by surprise, but it definitely shut your mouth up. His stare was so passionate and intense that you felt like you were being put under his spell. His spell of comfort and familiarity. The spell of love. But you had been under that spell since you met him, and there was no way he was going to reverse it.
The thought of wanting to kiss him had never left your mind; you just wanted to pull him in for a kiss to relieve your need as the touch of his lips make you feel alive every time he kissed you.
“I’ve missed you,” he said in a hushed voice for only you to hear. Despite the crowd being relatively loud as the time goes by and more people visit the beach, you felt like you were the only two to ever exist at the moment. There was no one around to pop the bubble you two created.
“I’ve missed you so much more,” you whispered back, looking up and down from his lips and eyes.
He was doing the same, although his gaze held a little longer onto your lips as he noticed your lips being like strawberry lipstick from the many lollipops you’ve probably eaten. But nonetheless, his favorite lips are yours.
“I’m sorry for being so M.I.A,” he said once more.
“Stop being sorry. You’re here now,” you grabbed his hand that was resting against the towel as your face cuddled more into his hand.
“I was actually out of state. That’s why I wasn’t around.” Your brows raised, and he continued, “Went to go visit my mum in New York.”
“Really?” He nodded.
“Yeah. Hadn’t seen her in about a year, so I decided to save up a ton and go see her. Then I stayed for about two months, which was when I quit my job. I actually got back last week, and some guys at the shop wanted to make a trip down here, and then I saw you.”
“Yeah…” you said softly.
“When I saw you last night at the bar, I really couldn’t believe it. And then when you came up to me, my heart was beating so fast, but time stopped. You were talking to me all drunk, debating with yourself if it was really me or not, and then you fuckin’ kissed me, and I felt over the moon but I was still in shock,” he chuckled remembering how he felt the night prior.
“Knew in my heart that it was you, so I couldn’t resist myself from going up to you,” you told him honestly. Harry blushed, always loving your words and how honest you were.
He moved his position back to a sitting upright as his legs were bent and his arms resting on his knees. He motioned you to sit between his legs and you happily obliged, immediately moving to sit in between them as your back rested on his chest. This was the closest you’ve ever been with him in six months, and you were taking it all in as he wrapped his arms around shoulders, and you placed your arms on top of his.
The feeling of his body so close to yours had made you feel nostalgic. The moments where you two would lie in bed after sex or when he would put his arm around you as you walked the streets; those were the moments you missed the most because you felt so connected to him physically and emotionally. You longed for his warmth when you would go home to an empty bed and a bad day. You craved for his touch when you would lie awake at night as you stared at the ceiling, wondering what he was doing.
But this moment was worth all the pain and heartache that you had to go through the past months. It was the only thing you were looking forward to when you were to be reunited with him again, and you almost forgot the feeling of his arms around you when you were stuck in your own world as you missed the security of his warmth.
And you were happy.
After another hour or two of relaxing on the beach in each other’s arms, you two decided to call it a day. You held Harry’s hand all the way back to your hotel room, and the separation was something you weren’t looking forward to.
“Alright, I’ll see you soon, okay?” He said as he pulled you into a hug. Your head rested on his chest, hearing his beating heart pound through his chest as you wrapped your arms tightly around him—maybe too tightly. “Woah, woah. Might break me if you hug me any tighter,” he said jokingly. You embarrassingly loosened your arms, but you were still pressed up against him. You looked up at him, chin against his chest instead of the side of your face.
You gave him a small smile, but there was a hint of sadness, he could tell. And he knew exactly why there was a tinge of sadness.
“Hey, sweet girl,” he said softly, and your heart immediately started beating quite fast, but it swooned. The pet name that you hadn’t heard in so long was finally back, and throughout the whole day on the beach, you were wondering when or if he would call you that again. And when you finally heard it, the words were soft and slick like butter like you wanted to indulge into the sweetness of his words.
Your eyes welled up with tears, “I’ve been wanting to hear you say that again for so long.”
“Then I should’ve said it earlier, but I didn’t know if I was crossing the line.”
“You’re never crossing the line with me,”
Harry smiled, showing his dimples that you’ve missed, and he placed his hands on the side of your face before kissing your forehead softly, lingering his lips a little longer than he should have, but you didn’t mind whatsoever.
He let go, raking his hands down both of your arms before holding your hand with his. “I should get going.”
“Okay,” you responded as you nodded your head. He let go of one hand as he tried to walk away, but the hand that was still holding his, pulled him back. Harry studied your face as a frown was present.
“Listen to me, okay? When I say I’ll see you soon, I don’t mean six months anymore. I mean in the next couple of days, but right now we have to get back to our friends, alright?” He said, looking you intently in the eyes. You sighed and nodded, believing that it won’t be months on end until you see him again. “Never gonna go that long without seeing you again. Hurts too much,” he pulled you in for one last hug, kissing the top of your head. “I’ll see you soon—I mean it,” he said once he let go.
“Okay. I’ll see you soon, honey,” you let go of his hands as he slowly walked away. From a distance, he blew you a big kiss, and you caught his air kiss as you made a fist and brought it to your heart. “I’ll be waiting for the real thing!” You called out and you saw him smile widely.
“Oh, I’ll definitely be there to give it to you! Soon, my sweet girl!” He yelled out back to you before blowing you multiple more kisses.
At this point, you couldn’t stop beaming as you watched him walk away from your line of vision. The last time you watched him leave had ended in heartbreak, followed by heartache. But this time, you smiled as you watched him leave, knowing that you would be able to see him very soon and not wonder when you would.
And you couldn’t wait to see his bright eyes and beautiful smile again, and of course, give a kiss to his pink lips.

Memories // Matthew Gray Gubler x Reader
Sixth blurb request! For @paniconthepitch Requests are still open!
I know this was suppose to be a blurb, but I got carried away soooo :) enjoy that.
I really like this one guys
Summary - Readers boyfriend breaks up with her and she heads to Matthews house, where she recalls all the times she knew she was in love with Matthew.
Word Count - 2.7k
Prompts - "Just shut up and kiss me." & "I need a place to stay."
You know those days where you think they are going so well, and suddenly, the worst possible outcome of the day happens?
That was today for me.
After such a great date night, I didn't quite imagine myself walking down my boyfriends street crying.
Or should I say ex-boyfriend.
I trudged down the road, my fists clenched at my sides and head held as low as it could physically go without detaching from my body. I knew that moving in with him was a risky move, but I didn't have much choice. I had been kind of couch surfing for a while and he offered to let me stay at his house. A stable roof over my head.
Or so I thought.
Now here I was, heading in no particular direction with only a small suitcase dragging behind me, a wallet in my hand and a phone in my pocket. I had been walking for about 20 minutes. Turning down random streets, not really paying attention to what was happening. Here's another question for ya.
Have you ever heard of the saying, 'When it rains it pours.'?
Well I have. And I am currently experiencing it. Just as I turned onto what seemed to be the first familiar street I had seen in the past 20 minutes, it started *raining*. But not just sprinkling, no, I wasn't that lucky. It was a total downpour.
I looked up at the green sign above me.
*Oakland Street*
That was Matthew's street!
See, Matthew and I had been friends for a long time. I considered him family. His mom and my mom were great friends, and still are. She visits Marilyn still. But I rarely see him anymore, he's always busy filming which is completely understandable. And now your probably thinking.
*If he was such a good friend, why didn't you ask him for help when you were couch surfing?*
Well the short answer is that I was embarrassed of being basically homeless. I look up to him and I didn't want him thinking I was a lost cause or helpless little girl.
But I had no choice now.
I trudged up to his door in my now soaked clothes. I was still crying, despite me *really* trying to hold it together.
It was 9:38 and I was hoping he was still up. Chances are he was, judging by the many sleepovers we had in the past where he would stay up until 4 am. I knocked softly on the door, backing up a few steps from it. I wiped my face a little, trying to dry it from tears and raindrops, but miserably failing.
The door opened slowly to reveal Matthew in plaid pajama pants and a white tee. As expected, he was holding a cup of coffee, which he quickly set down on a table near the door.
"Y/n?" He tilted his head, not coming out of the doorway. I was sure I looked like quite the mess right now. Soaked clothes, flushed face, messy hair, exactly what I *didn't* want him to see.
"I need a place to stay." I was now looking down, tears welling up in my eyes again from sheer embarrassment. I could feel my fists clenching together, nails sure to leave bruises in my hand.
"Come in, come in." He waved me in. I kept my head down as I walked through his door. "Are you alright? What happened?" I had a problem with Matthew where I just couldn't lie to him, it had been like that all our lives. He was so hard to keep things from, whether it was because he was my best friend or because it was so hard to look into those soft brown eyes and tell a lie.
"I've been living with Ben for a while, because I haven't exactly had enough money to keep up with rent payments... But he just broke up with me." I looked up to see pity written across his face. "Please don't look at me like that. I know it's pitiful." I leaned my head all the way back on his couch, staring at the ceiling.
"I'm not trying to show pity y/n, I'm just worried about you. Why didn't you tell me you were having troubles?" He put his hand on my knee, shaking it for an answer.
"Because I knew you would look at me like that!" I waved my hands around his face.
"Whatever you say. Just tell me what happened." As soon as I got a few words out, I was tearing up again.
*"I just don't understand Ben! I want to understand! You never talk to me anymore." I was gesturing wildly with my hands, something I had picked up from Matthew at a young age. I was trying to get my point across.*
*"I feel like I'm taking care of you y/n! I don't need a child I need a girlfriend!" His eyes held so much hate, much different from the soft green ones I had fallen for a few months ago.*
*"What are you even talking about? I just got a job Ben. I clean the house every week. I cook dinner for you, and I'm paying part of the rent! What more do you want from me?" I felt so confused and defeated, the longer I talked the quieter my words became. "If you want me to leave I will. Is this some sick, twisted way to say you don't love me anymore?" He went silent for a moment.*
*"I don't love you anymore." His arms hung heavy at his side. Are you kidding me?*
*"Did I do something wrong?"*
*"You're just, you're hard to love y/n." What the fuck is that suppose to mean?*
*"Fuck you Ben! I did nothing to you." I ran to our shared room, packing my suitcase and grabbing my charger and wallett from the side table. "You are a real piece of work." I could feel my body aching from mental exhaustion. "I'll be back to get the rest of my stuff another day." I stood by the door, grabbing the handle. "Hopefully if I'm so hard to love, I won't be so hard to get over."*
"And that was the last thing I said to him." Matthews thumb wiped a tear from my cheek. "I'm sorry, I'm such a mess."
"You don't have to apoligize for having emotions y/n. I'm here for you, always." He had first said this to me when we were in middle school, I thought that was the sweetest thing a teenage boy could say. "You can stay here as long as you want, I miss seeing you around anyway." He smiled, pushing some hair behind my ear. I set my head on his shoulder. It was really hard talking to him about this stuff. I think the real reason it was so hard to lie to him, was because it's hard to lie to someone you are *so* in love with.
Matthew seemed to be out of reach my whole life. It wasn't that he was massively popular, or that we were part of different cliques. It was really just because I thought he could never see me as anything more than a friend.
When I was 13, that's when I fell in love with him. I just didn't know it at the time.
*"Y/n this is so great! I can't believe I got the lead!" Spencer was spinning in my swivel chair that sat at my desk.*
* "I've always told you that you we're good at acting. Maybe you'll be an actor?"*
*No way! I'm gonna be a lawyer or something." He nearly fell from the chair laughing, as if the proposition of being an actor was so out of this world. There was a sparkle in his eye that I had never seen before. It was so refreshingly different from the days he had come to me after school, telling me that some assholes were pushing him around.*
*"I'm so happy for you, you're gonna do amazing! You better not leave me when you're famous." I shoved his shoulder playfully. That was truly a joke, but I could feel, deep in my subconscious, I was afraid that maybe he would.*
*"I would never!" And he didn't.*
But I couldn't do anything about how I felt.
"I don't wanna be a burden on you." I had stopped crying, but I was still slumped on the couch like a wet rag, *literally*.
"You could never be a burden on me. Here." He handed me a picture frame from his side table. It was of me and him when were were 22, it was a surprise party I threw for him. "Do you remember this?"
"How could I forget the first time I got you drunk?" And the night I realized I was in love with you *for sure*.
*Matthew had refused to get drunk on his 21st birthday. He was so responsible that it was nearly infuriating. So when he texted me telling me that someone came up to him on the street and offered him a modelling job, I knew I had to throw a party. Just me him and some of our friends.*
*I led him into my house with 4 of our other friends there. There was a seemingly illegal amount of liquor on my dining room table.*
*"Oh no! Y/n no, you're not gonna get me drunk!" He looked down at me disapprovingly. I stuck my bottom lip out, and gave him puppy dog eyes.*
*"Please Matthew? Just one time? I wanna know what kind of drunk you are." My puppy face turned into a slightly mischievous one.*
*"What kind of drunk I am?"*
*"Yeah! Like sad drunk, funny drunk, angry drunk, sleepy, reckless, philosophical. I wanna know!" I giggled, dragging him over to the table and already pouring him a shot.*
*"Fine, just one time."*
*And I did find out what kind of drunk he was.*
*A lovey drunk.*
*"Brian. You are the coolest person I know!" Matthew slurred, leaning over to our mutual friend. "And Katie is the funniest." He pointed to Katie. "And you! You are my favorite person in the whole world, you know that?" He was now laying in my lap, his head looking up at me.*
*"You are a mess." I laughed, patting his cheek.*
*"I am not a mess! I'm totally coherent! I love you so much! Look at you!" He sat up, kissing my cheek. I'm glad he was drunk because I didn't want him to remember the dark shade of red my cheeks turned afterward.*
*I loved this man, and it was kicking me in the ass.*
"A lovey drunk you called me." He chuckled as I gripped the frame.
"Do you remember all the things you said that night?" I half smiled, remembering the kiss om my cheek.
"Not really, to this day I live in blissful ignorance."
"Well today is the day you know." I giggled, crossing my legs on the couch and facing him.
"Wait! Before you tell me of all the dumb things I did that night, let me get you some dry clothes." He stood from the couch, heading to his room.
"Thank you!"
He came back holding and NYU hoodie and some sweatpants. I snatched them from his arms with a big smile and headed to the bathroom to change.
The only time before that I had worn his clothes was freshman year after an asshole from school pushed me in the mud while we were on our way to study at Matthew's.
*Matthew and I were walking side by side on the walkway, talking about random things.*
*"If you do get a cat, what are you gonna name it?" Matthew asked, keeping his eyes forward.*
*"I think I would name it Leo. After Leonardo DiCaprio, he's a dreamboat." He looked at me with an eyebrow raised.*
*"Really? That dork?"*
*"Says you! You're a huge dork!" I nudged him into the road with a laugh.*
*Just then I heard loud and fast footsteps coming from behind us. Suddenly large hands were shoving me into the nearest mud puddle. I gasped at the cold liquid that was soaking through my jeans and yellow shirt.*
*"Nice outfit y/n!" The asshole laughed, running down the sidewalk.*
*"Fuck you Ricky!" Matthew threw up his middle finger and helped me out of the mud. "Come on, I'll give you some clothes at my house."*
*When we arrived he handed me sweatpants and a Nirvana shirt. I changed into it and Matthew probably laughed for 10 minutes straight. I was pretty short around that time, and Matthew had just had his growth spurt. To make a long story short, I was swimming in those clothes.*
I was now staring at myself in the mirror, wishing I had the chance to get use to the feeling of wearing his clothes.
"Okay! Time to remember an embarrassing night Gube!" I shouted, feeling far better now that I was in warm clothes. I plopped onto the seat, scooting next to Matthew. "Alright. Now what do you wanna know first?" I set my chin in the palm of my hand.
"So, what exactly is your definition of a lovey drunk?" He mimicked my position.
"A drunk who is very kind. They are constantly complimenting everyone around them and expressing their love and fondness. Can even turn a sad or angry drunk to a happy one." I shrugged.
"Okay, fair enough. What did I say that night?" I smiled evily.
"Ok, well, you told Brian that he was the coolest person ever. And Katie was labelled the funniest ever. You gave Mallory ten bucks for all the advice she had given you in the past. And you hugged Alex for around 5 minutes straight." The image of Matthew swaying with Alex was clear in my memory like it happened yesterday. He threw his head back him laughter, his face reddening with slight embarrassment.
"Did I say anything to you?" He stared into my eyes like he was going to find the words there before they came from my mouth. I rubbed my hands together.
"Uh, yeah. You told me that I was your favorite person in the whole world." He smiled at that. "And then I told you that you were a mess. But you informed me, so graciously, that you were *not a mess* and *totally coherent*. Then proceeded to say 'I love you so much! Look at you!' And you kissed my cheek." I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks, I was now looking down at my hands.
"Well you are my favorite person in the world," He tilted my chin up with his hand. "still. Maybe I'm an honest drunk."
"What's that suppose to mean?" I cocked my head to the side.
"Maybe I'm an honest drunk who was just sober enough to be too nervous to kiss you on the lips?" It came out as a question, I wasn't sure if he was genuinly asking a question or he was saying that that is *exactly* what happened. I'm hoping for the latter.
"What do you-" I was interrupted by his hand grabbing my chin.
"Just shut up and kiss me." He brought my lips to his, and of course I didn't hesitate at all to kiss back.
I ran my hands through those curls that I loved so much. His hands gripped my hips as I leaned into him more, I was so afraid that this was going to be a dream.
Like it was so many other times.
As he pulled away I kept my eyes closed, still hoping that it actually happened.
"Hey, are you okay?" He patted the side of my face lightly.
"Yeah, more than okay. How long?"
"Since we were 20. You?"
"Sometime in middle school." I snickered.
"Well either way, far too long." He put his finger under my chin again, bringing me into another kiss.
*Thanks Ben*

Meeting Tom
Reader x Tom Holland (Feat. RDJ, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon)
A/N: This story lives within ‘The Real War’ series I have written. This is one of three Tom centered Prologue entries. You’re the newest addition to the Gaurdians cast and as a MCU actor you obviously have to meet RDJ and through meeting him he decides you have to meet the other younger actors in the MCU circle so he sets up this lunch to do exactly that. Its surprisingly easy, except between you and Tom Holland….
This was not written well. I found it hard to communicate the scene I was picturing in my head so I’m sorry and I hope you enjoy it anyway.
Warnings: Fluff and mini angst maybe? WORD COUNT: 2347
---------------------------
I had met Robert Downy for lunch the day before I started shooting for Guardians of The Galaxy vol. 3. It had been the second time since I got the part that he wanted to meet with me as a from of welcome into the family and this time was already feeling much different than the last. The first time I met him it was at an office on Marvel property and this time he asked me to meet him at a burger bar in the center of LA. I had just moved to Los Angeles and I was quickly realizing that I had packed for much cooler weather than what the city had to offer (I kind of thought the idea of LA always being hot was an exaggeration but I was wrong,) So I strolled up to the boujee casual restaurant in the only warm weather option I had: My green and white tee shirt dress with matching stan smith sneakers.
I half expected Robert to be waiting for me at the door as I was clearly susceptible to getting lost so when I entered the restaurant and I don’t spot him in the hostess section I start to question if I went to the right place. Just as I go to reach for my phone to call him I hear him shout for me from the other side of the bar. When I spot him I also realize who he is with: Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and Tom Holland…. Now Robert left the detail about other people joining us out of his invitation but even after knowing him for a short period of time it wasn’t much of surprise to me. He did mention that I should friend the “youngins’” as he called them.
Robert meets me halfway and brings me into a round of air kisses and a hug before guiding me over to the group. Zendaya gets up and comes in for a hug first, “So nice to meet you! I’m Zendaya but Zen or Z is fine too.” She gushed to me. She was even more stunning and charmingly awkward than I had ever imagined. Then Jacob met me with a handshake and a kind smile as Robert took the reigns in introducing us, “Jacob this is (Y/N), (Y/N) this is Jacob. And finally this is Tom..” Jacob cleared the way for Tom to step forward and as we both went in for air kisses we somehow picked to go the same side and for a split second our lips pecked before we drastically aborted. “Oh my gosh I-I’m so sorry! I Didn’t- I didn’t mean to do-“ Tom started to panic as the rest of the group all just froze watching the awkward unfold. I put my hands up to calm him down, “It’s okay! I went the wrong way too! It’s okay” I was just word vomiting back to him before we were rescued from the others. “Way to go, Tom.” Jacob laughed and Zendaya chimed in, “Real smooth.” The both teased him and Robert wasn’t far behind them, “That’s one way to break the ice I guess…” He said and gestured me to take the empty seat between him and Zendaya at the booth.
In any other instance something like that would have thrown me into a panic attack but there was something about this group of people that made me feel comfortable and at ease. At least on the outside. On the inside I was definitely shouting expletives and praying to God I wasn’t blushing. I turned my attention to the menu as I tried to shake off the awkward interaction that just happened. I couldn’t believe Tom Holland, spider-man, just kissed me…. And by accident.
“So (Y/N), when do you start shooting?” Jacob asked and snapped me back into reality. I put down my menu and picked up the conversation with a new state of coolness than five minutes prior, “Tomorrow, actually!” From the corner of my I see Robert nodding as this was information he already knew. “Oh wow! How are you feeling? Excited?” Zendaya leaned in fully invested in the moment. I took a breath in to respond but once again RDJ jumped in, “She’s nervous” He exposed and I turned to him mouth agape and he instantly realized his mistake, “Dude! Don’t make me sound uncool!” I pestered him and the whole group laughed. “What are you nervous about?” Tom finally speaking, clearly having calmed down from our misstep. I looked at him directly catching his deep brown eyes. Who could lie to those eyes? So I let my guard down, “Well this is my first big thing, you know? My first movie, even!” I confessed and then watched the three of respond in shock.
“The first movie you landed is this one? Not even like indie projects or anything?” Jacob questioned. I nodded, “This is the first movie I even auditioned for. Before this I was strictly stage acting.” I informed him and Zendaya reached for my arm, “Damn. You must be good!” She complimented and again I saw Robert nodding out of the corner of my eye. He was part of my auditioning and hiring process so it was because of him that I even got the job. “Yeah,” I continued, “So I kind of have this pressure of the unknown and I really don’t want to let anyone down.” Tom had a big reaction to this, “(Y/N) don’t worry, darling. We’ve all been there and yeah its intimidating but the people who work on these movies are so helpful and welcoming. And you’re clearly well matched to the ‘big leagues’ you’ll being starring with to get the gig so you’ll fit right in.” When he finished speaking he smiled at me in such a way that I couldn’t help but return it. “Thanks. That means a lot.” I said sheepishly right before the waitress came over to take our order.
Moments later Robert excused himself for the bathroom and told us that it was our moment to talk about “young” things. The second I turned away I addressed the group, “Why does he act like he’s 80 years old?” I asked and Jacob cackled, “I don’t know. If he’s 80, he’s the chillest 80 year old I’ve ever met.”
“He does have a point though,” Zendaya starts, “Now that he’s gone this is my chance to ask…. What’s your star sign?” I laughed and looked at the guys across the table who both rolled their eyes but still seemed interested in my answer. “Guess.” I dared her and she sat back and got a good look at me. “Hmmm” she analyzed. All this staring and attention made me pretty self-conscious so I fussed with my hair and darted my eyes again to Tom who as soon as I caught his eyes darted his away. Before I could question his actions Zendaya announced, “(Y/Z/S)!”
“Wow… You’re good!” I told her. “I was right?” she clapped her hands together then brushed her shoulders, “I am good”
The rest of the lunch was pretty normal and as time progressed got less formal. I really felt like I was becoming friends with all of them and what happened as we all got up to leave only confirmed that. “Hey (Y/N) are you doing anything right now? Tom, Z and I were gonna head back to my house and go swimming if you want to join?” Jacob asked me and I immediately deflected. I didn’t want them to invite me out of pity. As much as I had a good time I still had a hard time thinking they all actually thought I was cool. “I have two suits, you can borrow one! If that’s what’s holding you up” Zendaya offered and I shifted uncomfortably. That was one of the reasons…. But it wasn’t until Tom pitched in that I became fully onboard, “You have to come (Y/N). I’m not done hanging out with you yet.” He said with dare in his voice and he sent another charming smile my way and with t hat I was in.
We bid Robert goodbye as he had other meetings to attend the rest of the day before piling into Zendaya’s car. Jacob called shotgun leaving Tom and I to sit in the back together and because of all of Zendaya’s bags and miscilanious objects in her back seat we had to squish together with me sitting on the middle seat. “Are you sure you don’t want to switch?” Tom offered kindly but I waved it off, “I’ve been small my whole life. I’m used to the middle seat.” I said back before the car was flooded with the sound of 00s bangers. The whole way to Jacobs the four of us jammed out classics like “Teenage Dirtbag” by Weatus, “Disturbia” by Rhianna, and “Girlfriend” by Avril Lavigne.
As soon as we arrived at Jacob’s place Zendaya and Tom made themselves at home while I pretended to settle in just as naturally. Zendaya lead me to one of his bathrooms and held out the two suits she brought for me to choose from. “Pick either one. I honestly couldn’t decide this morning and packed both so you’d actually be helping me out by making my decision for me.” She said and passed me the two suits. One was a pink blue and white paint splattered high necked two piece with spaghetti strings to tie it on and the other was a classic triangle bikini with blue and white stripes and a ruffle trim on the bottoms. I chose the latter as it looked like it would fit me better and be more comfortable in.
I let Zendaya change first and as soon as she was done she had a phone call she excused herself for and she left me alone to take over the bathroom and change. I was amazed as I slipped the suit on how myself and Zendaya were the same size and I was even more impressed with how amazing the suit looked on. The one problem was that I couldn’t seem to get the hang of tying on the strings so I did what any girl has ever done in this situation and sought out for female help. However when I peeked my head out of the bathroom Zendaya was nowhere to be found. Instead I was met with a spaced-out Tom waiting for his chance to change. If I had gone unnoticed I would have just quietly shut the door again and tried my luck with the suit myself but unfortunately for me Tom picked his head up toward me as soon as the door clicked open causing me to panic a little inside as I held the top of my suit to my body.
“Oh, hi!” Tom said as he stood up from the arm of the couch he was sitting on. Very nervous and very conscious of my newly exposed body I kept the majority of my body still tucked behind the door as I asked, “Hey. Is Zendaya around?” I asked him and I could tell he sensed my uncomfortableness. “She’s on the phone in the other room. Everything alright?” He asked and I took a moment to ask myself if I should just be honest with him and ask him for assistance instead. I went with it, “Uh- yeah… Actually I just can’t tie the back of my bathing suit… Do you mind?” I asked him and gestured for him to come over. “Um sure…” He responded sheepishly and walked over as I turned my back to him. I stiffened up as I held my boobs in place and felt his fingers brush against my skin. We stood in silence as he fiddled around with the straps of my suit to tie it. He cleared his throat to alert me that he was finished.
I turned around to him and instantly realized how close we were standing. “Thanks…” I said shyly and tried to not reveal the blushing feelings I was feeling inside. Tom’s eyes were looking into mine with a twinkle I had not yet seen. “No problem.” He smirked. The space between us was slight but thick with tension as we looked into each other’s eyes. It was awkward yet comfortable in the moment. I couldn’t help but giggle, “Oh! You need the bathroom don’t you!” I said completely embarrassed for hogging the bathroom.
I whipped around to grab my neatly folded clothing from the counter. In the swift motion of switching places with Tom, I felt something from my arms drop to the floor but before I could reach down to grab it Tom picked it up for me. All at the same time, Zendaya was returning from the other room, “What is taking you two so long!-“ She started and then stopped in her tracks realizing the situation. Myself and Tom standing incredibly close and my thong in the hands of Tom Holland. We both looked at Zendaya and noticing her confused expression and causing us to look back to each other. The instant I realized what Tom had I swiped it out of his hands and tucked it under my dress. “Shit. Sorry!” I said in a forceful whisper and watched as Tom’s cheeks turned rosy. “Sorry” was all he could let out as well before locking himself in the bathroom.
With the click of the door my attention snapped back to Zendaya who was holding back her laughter and guiding me outside to the pool. “What the hell is going on between you two?” She bantered and Jacob overheard, “Oh are we talking about Tom’s crush on (Y/N)?” We both gasped and Jacob instantly tried to backtrack, “No no… Why would you be talking about that? Tom didn’t say anything to me! Monica just broke up with him. He’s not thinking about that right now? What? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” As he rambled I buried my face in my hands as Zendaya tried to shush him. Seconds later Tom joined us and we all pretended like nothing awkward happened and went on with the rest of our day.

king of my heart
deancas; 1,059 wc; fluff post-rescue fic xox
We’re letting go tonight, We’re leaving Earth behind. With praise we touch the sky, We’re soaring towards your eyes.
It was a quiet place outside of Charleston, South Carolina. Secluded, surrounded by towering Willows and blooming Dogwoods. Strings of white lights hung across the length of the outdoor patio, where a live band was playing gentle music. A three man ensemble assisted only by a Taylor acoustic and Pearl Cajon. The moon is high, and the sky is cloudless. Stars shine brilliantly as far as the eye can see.
There are only a handful of other couples dancing along the hardwood, quiet and private.
Inside the restaurant was more of the same: quiet, serene. Tables illuminated only by candlelight. Gentle, amplified strums of the guitar floated inside off of the speakers. Dean would call the place semi-formal. Too nice for graphic tees and sneakers, but not a tuxedo and gown joint either.
It was perfect for them.
They’d caught a case here earlier in the week, Tuesday, a run-of-the-mill vamps nest. For once, it went off without a hitch. Dean wasn’t about to look a gift horse in the mouth this time; after the months they’ve had, with losing Cas and Mom to getting Cas back just to lose him again to Asmodeus, they deserved this break.
They’d decided to stay in town until Sunday. Tomorrow.
Dean knew Cas was in trouble the moment he and Sam stormed the bar where Cas had been. He knew the voice on the other end of the line wasn’t truly Cas, no matter how good of an actor Asmodeus thought himself to be. And as text after text went unanswered, Dean knew. He could feel the blood drain from his face as his gut coiled into a tight spring.
It’s not Cas it’s not Cas it’s not Cas.
It had taken some effort to convince Sam that Dean wasn’t crazy and paranoid, of course. How do you know? Sam had asked. It’s Cas, he’s always a little odd.
No. It’s not him, Sam. I know him, okay? I know him better than anyone else on this whole friggin’ planet. Dean’s voice had wavered then, and that seemed to be enough for Sam.
So they searched. They hunted. In the process of looking for Cas, they’d found Jack too. Apparently, Jack could also sense something was off about his chosen guardian. His father. He was in danger, Jack had said. And he teleported them to the pit.
They hunted down Asmodeus. They laid siege to Hell, slicing and dicing anyone and everyone that got in their way. They found Cas unscathed in a cage.
Dean had nearly fallen to his knees in relief. He grabbed the angel into his arms, gripping him for all it was worth. Sobs wracked his body as his fist pounded Castiel in the shoulder, pissed and hurt and a thousand other emotions he couldn’t put words to.
Stop tryin’ to fuckin’ die on me, Dean hissed into Cas’s ear. I can’t keep doin’ this!
Dean felt the collar of his shirt become damp with Cas’s tears. I’m so sorry, Dean. God, I’m so sorry.
Jack teleported them all back to the bunker. Without another word, Dean had grabbed hold of Cas’s wrist and brought him to his bedroom, committed on showing Cas just how much the angel fucking meant to him.
That was four months ago. Dean never looked back. Not once. He was wholly and unconditionally in love with Castiel, angel of the Lord. And Cas was equally devoted to and in love with him.
That was never gonna change. The cosmos had written it for them. It was as true as the gospel. And so the Angel fell in love with the Righteous Man, and the Righteous Man with the Angel. And Chuck saw that it was good.
Maybe Dean added that last bit. But he believed it anyway.
So here they were. Holding each other close, swaying like the dogwood blooms in the wind to the music floating in the air. Dean’s arms wrapped around Cas’s back, cheek pressed along the crown of the angel’s head. Cas’s arms encircling Dean’s middle, cheek pressed against Dean’s shoulder, nose buried into his neck. His lips ghosting Dean’s jaw.
Dean isn’t much of a dancing man. But then again, he ain’t one for falling in love either.
Up with the stars, outside of time, Held in the brightness of your light. All of the saints and angels cry; And all of creation testifies.
“I love you,” Dean murmurs into Cas’s hair, thumbs stroking tiny circles in the small of his back. “Y’know that, right?”
Cas hums into Dean’s neck, nodding slowly. “And I love you.” His arms squeeze tightly around Dean for emphasis.
Dean sighs heavily, pressing his lips to Cas’s crown. Tears prick at the corners of forest green eyes.
“Marry me,” Dean whispers. And maybe it’s spur of the moment, but Dean means it with every ounce of his body and soul all the same.
Cas stalls in his movements. Dean’s mouth goes dry, and he licks his lips nervously. Cas pulls back enough to meet his eyes. Ethereal blue stare into green.
“Dean,” he breathes. Tears well up in Castiel’s eyes. Dean moves his hands to frame Cas’s face, and he presses their brows together.
“‘M serious, Cas. Please,” he whispers, breath caressing Cas’s face. “Marry me. Take me as yours. Forever and ever. ‘Til the day I’m dead’n gone.”
Dean doesn’t pay any mind to the tears spilling down his cheeks. Cas’s hands come up to grasp Dean’s face. Cas presses a soft peck to Dean’s lips.
“Yes,” he breathes. “Yes, Dean. I will.”
A watery smile graces Dean’s face, and he captures Cas’s mouth with his own.
On another plane, at the top of a mountain, the creator of the earth watches through closed eyes, a boastful smile etched across His face.
Amara’s hand falls on His shoulder. “What is it?”
Chuck opens his eyes and gazes at his sister, His eyes crinkling at the corners with a smile. He breathes deeply, the mountain air cleansing His very being. He turns his head to stare at the vastness of the mountain tops, clouds hanging low, sun shining brightly through them.
“Finally,” He says. Amara grins knowingly.
And He saw that it was good.

He Goes by the Name H. One [part 2]
Author: b0blegum
Pairing: DJ!Chae Hyungwon x Reader
Rating: G (still…)
Genre: Romance
Status: FINISHED
Part: Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - end
Today was almost the same as yesterday and even the day before yesterday. You woke up alone, washed your face, watch some morning news and headed to the bathroom to let the warm water cleaned every inch of your bare skin. What differed was only your best friend isn’t home yet, but that didn’t bother you much because you knew, she probably stayed at her one night stand-er, which she met at the after party last night.
You heard something vibrated as you dried off your hair. It was your phone and it was a kakao phone call from your childhood friend who had to move miles away due to his father’s work.
“Changkyun?” You called his name after both of you exchanged hello for formality. “Oh my God, it is really you! I haven’t heard from you in ages!” You left your towel just anywhere and sat at the edge of your bed. “You’re in Seoul? Really? Why didn’t you tell me you’re coming?” Smile wouldn’t leave your face during the phone calls with your childhood friend. “Yes, i’m totally free… Okay… Okay, sure! I know the place, don’t worry. Oh my God, i can’t believe i finally am gonna meet you! Okay, see you, Changkyun!”
He was asking you to grab brunch together, since he was still suffering from jet-lag so he thought why not.
You threw on really basic clothes. White tees and ripped jeans that was rolled up messily at the perfect height to show a bit of your skin. You grabbed your tiny sling bag before you walked out your apartment and slipped into your favorite pair of sneakers.
The café where Changkyun and you agreed to meet was just two blocks away from your apartment. He intentionally chose that because he knew it was really close to where you live and it’s better for him to take the longer route rather than you.
The bell rung when you opens the glass door. A scent of sweet vanilla and a hint of rose greeted you. There was a glass display of the cakes and other desserts on your right and a menu standee on your left. The interior was so chic, it was actually too girly for Changkyun, but you knew, he was the type that didn’t really care about the place as long as they served good foods.
You scanned the entire café, looking for the now already grown up boy and there he was, sitting at the very corner, on a rounded table facing the small garden. You marched happily towards him and tapped his shoulder playfully.
“Changkyun baby!” You greeted him with the widest smile you could pull. You always called him baby, because for you, he was still and always a baby.
“I am 21, please. Not a baby anymore.” He stood up and pulled you into a hug. You chuckled as you brushed his back.
“I miss you so much! How are things going? Oh, until when will you stay here?” You fired him with questions that didn’t seem to have an end.
“I miss you too, (y/n). I really do. It’s been ages, isn’t it?” You nodded. “Oh by the way, before i answer your question, why don’t you order first?” He suggested, giving you the menu. Your eyes darted to two plates of sandwich glasses of hot tea that were on a table.
“Oh… I thought that was mine.” You said in a low tone.
“I… Forgot to tell you. I came here with a friend. I stayed with him while i’m here.” He smiled.
You then called the waiter and told her what you were getting.
“Oh, that’s him.” He pointed at the guy and you followed to where his index finger was pointing at.
He was tall. Has really long legs, overall a perfect figure but it was the figure you somehow familiar with. He turned around after he closed the bathroom door and…
“Fuck.” Your shoulders dropped, couldn’t believe what you just saw.
“(Y/n), why?” Changkyun snapped you.
“Ah, no. Nothing.” It was the guy from last night. The DJ. The guy who ran his hand sloppily up your thighs. The guy who deserved a slapped from you, actually.
“Dude.” The guy called Changkyun from behind your back as he got closer.
“Hyung,” the younger looked up to the tall guy. “Meet her, (y/n).” Changkyun pointed at you as Hyungwon walked to his chair. You can’t look at the guy, instead you looked down and wishing you could got out from here.
“Oh… (Y/n)?” He pulled his chair and sat down at the chair across from you.
“You know her?” Changkyun asked, making you looked up worrily. You could tell the guy was smirking the hell outta him.
“No. I don’t.” He replied with a soft headshake after a gap of silence.
What an actor You thought.
“Nice to meet you, (y/n). I’m Hyungwon.” He extended his arms, long enough to reach you. You put on a fake smile while you shook his hand and told him your name, again.
“He is a DJ.” Changkyun introduced him. “He played at the festival yesterday. Isn’t that right, hyung?”
“Yeah. But i’m not that good, yet, actually.” He chuckled.
Your orders came and finally you had something to so rather than looking at the guy you really dislike that was currently sitting in front of you.
You were poking at your sandwich when Changkyun nudged your elbow from under the table. He then gestured you to talked a bit to Hyungwon, but you acted like you didn’t understand what Changkyun meant.
“So, hyung. She is my childhood friend. She’s a bit older than me, but she didn’t want me to call her noona.” Changkyun explained.
“How much older?” Hyungwon leaned back with one arm folded and rested on the headrest and one stretched out to the table with his fingers spinning something you thought it was a cigarette.
“She’s 9– wait, hyung. I think both of you were born in the same year!” The younger somehow looked happy by that fact.
“Well, that’s cool.” Hyungwon changed his position. He’s now resting both of his elbow on the table.
You didn’t have the desire to talk at all, so you just let Changkyun did the talk. One thing you noticed, he was changed. He used to be a shybaby-don’t talk much kind of boy, but now he talked more than you expect.
In the middle of the conversation, when Changkyun told both of you something funny that happened recently in his father’s lab and both of you were laughing at it, his phone rung. Your laugh faded slowly as you leaned back and so did Hyungwon, but he managed to darted his eyes to you. Looking at you with his lazy eyes.
“Guys, i’m really sorry, but dad wants me in his lab.” Changkyun broke the silence after he was done.
“But you haven’t finished your breakfast,” you put a puppy eyes, begging him to stay.
“I know. I did tell him i’m busy this morning, but my dad is my dad. You know him, don’t you (y/n)?” Changkyun sighed as he brushed his fingers through his thick hair.
“That’s okay. Your dad needs you now. We could wait. We still have tomorrow.” Hyungwon smiled at the younger.
“(Y/n), i’m so sorry,” you pouted.
“Changkyun, don’t worry. I’ll accompany her and take her home.” Hyungwon said.
“No, no! I’m fine going home alone.” You snapped.
“That’s a good idea, hyung! Alright, then, i don’t have to be that worry. I leave her with you.” Changkyun stood up and stretched out his arms, gesturing you to join him for a hug before he did the manly-greeting with Hyungwon. “Bye, (y/n), hyung!”
He left.
Leaving you, Hyungwon and the awkward silence flowing around the table.
“Go on. Finish your breakfast. I’ll wait.” He said with eyes fixed onto yours.
“You could leave. I don’t need you here.” He scoffed.
“I don’t want Changkyun to be disappointed at me by not accompanying you, (y/n).”
“He wouldn’t know.” You took a sip of your now already cold tea. “Plus, i’m going home.” You stood up, leaving your half eaten sandwich.
“You’re sure one hell of a girl, (y/n).” He said. You could still hear him while you walked to the cashier about to pay.
“It’s paid,” she said.
“Ah, Changkyun might’ve done that. Thank you!” You said to the woman and she smiled back at you before he pulled out a credit card and gave it to the man who was already standing behind you.
“Here’s your credit card and the bill. The total is (numbers) won.” She said. You turned back and found Hyungwon was signing the bill.
He mouthed a thank you to the woman before he headed out the café, following you.
“At least a thank you would be enough.” He murmured as he put his wallet on his back pocket.
Without thinking twice, you took a (numbers) bill from your purse. “Here. Take it. I don’t need your money.” You turned back and shoved the money onto his chest.
“I don’t need yours either. Keep it. You might need it.” He walked passed you. “Come on. I’ll walk you home. Which way? Right? Left?” He turned back to you.
You ignored him and walk straight passing him. “Don’t you dare walk me home.” You greeted your teeth.
You walked fast and not looking back at him. You bit your lower lip.
Just why out of thousands friends Changkyun had, he was the one to be brought to the café? You thought.
“That disgusting jerk.” You hit the concrete ground before you slid down the key to open your apartment door.
Once it clicked open, you stepped in and threw away your sneakers while still mumbling random curse words.
“You have a nice place to live,” a heavy raspy voice shocked you, made you turned back immediately with eyes wide opened.
“For God’s sake. Why were you here? Gosh!” It was again. Hyungwon. He ignored your words and made his own way to enter your apartment. You looked at him in disbelieve and pulled him before he could stepped his foot in your living room, but he brushed your grip away easily and already enjoying the view of your living room.
“You decorated all these?” He asked. Running his fingers to all the tiny wall decorations you picked up last summer.
“You need to get out now, or i’ll call the police.”
Again, he ignored you and made his way to another room. You freaked out when he already put his fingers on your bedroom’s doorknob.
“Stop! That’s my room!” You ran towards him. He stopped and turned his head a bit, a smirk drew on his face.
“This is your room? It’s interesting.” He scanned the door, about to pushed it open when someone shouted at the front door.
“I’m home!” It was your best friend. You reflexively opened your door and shoved the tall guy in. Hiding him, because one thing you were thinking of was, you wanted to avoid any (annoying) questions from your bestfriend. You know she would be excited to see you taking a guy home because you’ve been single for like ages.
“Don’t come out or i’ll kill you. For sure.” You threatened him before you slammed closed the door and acted as normal as you could.
“Why were you slamming the door?” She asked as she threw herself on the couch. You still had your hands glued to the doorknob, holding it so that he could opened it.
“I’m… Nothing. Where were you?” You asked. She looked over her phone.
“Why are you standing there? And why did you ask? That’s… Unlike you.” She asked, eyes back to the phone screen.
You could feel the door being pulled from the inside and you didn’t have any chances but to pulled it to your direction and that made a thudding sound.
Your bestfriend looked at you and sat up. “You’re… Weird.”
“I… Need to change my clothes.” That’s your best defence.
“That’s… Even weirder.” Her words was fading away as you got into your room, opening the door as narrow as it could and closed it immediately.
The guy was there. He was standing exactly behind the door. His eyes gazing darkly into yours. He walked a step closer to you who was leaning on the door.
“Back off!” You whispered, yet he took another step so that your nose almost touched. He put his hands on the door and leaned down, putting his eyes on the same level as yours.
“Looks like we’re trapped in here, aren’t we?” He whispered in your ear. His husky voice were sending chills down your spine. You could feel your heart beat faster than it usually did and what’s funnier was how could your heart flutter at the guy whom you hate the most?

Camila wakes up the next morning energized and filled with happiness. After rekindling her friendship with Lauren, it feels like weight has been thrown off her shoulders. Ever since she broke up with Hailee, she feels like she does not have to worry about heartbreak. Hailee did not take the news well. She accused Camila of many things, but she knew she could not keep up with her anymore. Her and Hailee have been broken up for about a week after being together for almost 2 years of a long committed relationship.
She was just glad to know her and Lauren are on good terms again, because she gets to hangout with her today. Earlier she received a text from Lauren , who was talking about how boring vocal practice was and the only good thing about it was how Dinah dumped her cup of water on Ally.
A voice snaps Camila out of her thoughts and she lifts her head from looking at the floor. She’s been in glam for about an hour for her photoshoot with Seventeen magazine and its all for her new album coming out soon. Ever since her break up with Hailee the media described Camila to have a ‘rebirth’ because her fame started when Hailee landed her role on Pitch Perfect, while dating Camila. Some part of the media has described Camila to use Hailee for her fame that introduced her to the music business. She has learned to ignore their comments because no matter what, they will always try to get a reaction out of you.
“Ok Camila, go get dressed” Her manager says walking in.
She hops from her chair and walks over to the outfits that are lined up for her. She notices a lot of clothning that are her style so it was hard for her to pick out.
“so you can choose 4 outfits for the photoshoot” Her manager adds not looking up from her phone. Camila goes behind the curtain and drops her robe. She slides into a pair of shorts with a white tee shirt that has a 'C’ on the front. She sees a varsity jacket and grabs that as well. The stylist adjusts everything and fixes Camila’s hair. She slides a couple of rings on Camila’s hand as well.
“ok, you are ready to go” The stylist says leading Camila out to the set. After walking to the center, the photographer directs Camila to the white background.
“Just act natural” The photographer says. The shutter of the camera clicks and bright lights flash. He gives her a nod, and directs her to sling her jacket over her shoulder while she bits her lip. Camila looks directly at the camera, giving a flirty look. She plays to the camera and gives the people what they want.
The photoshoot went on while Camila went from the set and the dressing room changing into different outfits. Also having the stylist and make up artist fix her up. after 3 hours of being interview and having her photos taken. There were questions about her music and what she plans for the future. She doesn’t remember half of her replies.
“Alright, thats enough for today” The photographer says. “Good job Camila” he says before heading back to talk to other people.
“I’m definitely gonna need one of those pictures” A voice from behind Camila says. She knew that voice.
She whips around and smiles when she sees Lauren next to one of the cameraman packing. Camila moves away from the set and walks over to Lauren and wrapping her arms around her. “Lo! You made it” she says happily.
Lauren said she was going to be late to Camila’s photoshoot due to her vocal practice with H4rmony. Lauren chuckles at her antics and hugs her tightly back before letting go. “ You looked really good, I wonder how your fans will feel” Camila laughs at the thought of her fans going crazy over new photos.
“So what are going to do today” Camila said looking up at Lauren. There isn’t much of a height difference between them but Lauren is currently wearing heels while Camila just has converse on.
“Well, we can go back to my hotel and hangout with the girls”
“Thats a great idea” Camila started “First let me go change” she finished walking away from Lauren into the dressing room.
After a couple of minutes she came out in skinny jeans with a white blouse with her converse. She walked over to Lauren. Soon they are both walking out of the building into Lauren’s car During the drive to the hotel it was silent between them, but it wasn’t the awkward kind of silence. They made some small talk, mostly about how their families have been or about music.
They made it to Lauren’s hotel room but it is occupied with Ally, Normani and Dinah. They are all seated around the tv playing the notebook.
“Lo is back!” Dinah yells out “Wait Mila is that you?” She says getting up from her seat and walking over to hug Camila.
“Its about time you two showed up” Normani says “Wheres my gift ?”
Camila just chuckles and responds “ Totally forgot” She says her hellos to the group and gives each of them a hug.
“Guys” Lauren starts “Why did you all decide to trash my hotel room?”
They all smiled at her while Camila let out a chuckle. “ Well you are the only one with a working Tv and you get free movies” Ally says before stuffing her face with popcorn. “ You guys knew Camila was coming” Lauren says motioning Camila to sit over to the couch with Dinah.
“ She has seen us at our worst” Normani adds while Camila muttered a 'you got that right’ causing Lauren to roll her eyes.
“So what was your shoot about?” Dinah says looking away from the tv to look at Camila.
“It was just for seventeen magazine, mostly on my new music i’m releasing soon” She says glancing at Dinah. Dinah just nods and turns her attention back to the tv to see the movie ended.
“That ending still gets me every time” Ally says wiping her tears while leaning her head on Normani’s shoulder.
“Ally, its just a movie"Normani said chuckling causing Ally to gasp.
"I know, but they both died together!” The rest of the girls chuckled at their antics as they got into a debate on whether it was a really sad ending or not.
“What are we watching now?” Lauren asks watching Dinah choose from the list of movies on the tv.
“Jurassic World” Dinah says happily. “ I need to see my man Chris Pratt” She said dreamily causing the group to laugh.
“Actually Ally and I have to go” Normani stated standing up.
“Woah, you are not leaving me here with them"Dinah said sarcastically, causing Lauren to gasp.
"Dinah, do you not want to hangout with the greatest people you’ve ever met” Lauren said pretending to be hurt by Dinah’s comment. Dinah gave a 'you really asking me that’ kind of look.
“Ally and I have a double date tonight” Normani said excitedly.
“Wait, is it with that dude Ally was talking to last night?” Camila questioned.
“yup, and Normani is going with such a fine man name Keith Powers” Dinah said dreamily causing the whole group to agree. Camila has heard about Normani’s latest fling with the Straight Outta Compton actor, she knew Normani would find someone soon. Who wouldn’t want to date her?
“Be back before 12” Lauren calls out as the two girls left the hotel room
“Ok, mom!”
Then, they heard the door slam leaving Camila, Dinah and Lauren in the hotel room. Dinah stands from her position on the couch with Camila. She grabs her phone from the coffee table.
“Yeah, i’m leaving ” Dinah starts. “ I’m gonna go finish my Chris Pratt movie by myself” She said walking towards the door.
“You know we can always join if you get too lonely” Lauren said in a seductive voice to bother Dinah. Dinah looked at her in horror but then smirked.
“I knew you always wanted this Lo” Dinah said winking back causing Camila to chuckle at Lauren’s reaction.
“gross I was kidding, but don’t have too much fun”
The door slammed shut once again, but this time leaving Camila and Lauren alone. About two minutes Camila spoke.
“Can we go out and get some food?” Lauren nods her head while Camila stands up instantly, stretching her hand out for the green eyed girl to take.
Lauren takes Camila’s hand and pulls herself up. Camila didn’t let go of her hand, while she leads her out of Lauren’s hotel room. The contact makes Lauren’s skin hot and she blushes. She knew she shouldn’t get too involved with Camila, but she can never stay away. Camila felt her phone vibrate, she glances at it, but rolls her eyes and puts her phone back in her pocket as they walk out of the hotel to Lauren’s private car.
“Who was it?” Lauren asks, she can guess who it is. She feels disappointment build up inside quickly just thinking about it.
“It’s no one” Camila said letting go of her hand, while opening the car door for lauren to get in. She mumbles a 'thank you’ while Camila gets in next to her. Camila directs the driver where to take them.
-
As soon as they reach their destination, the driver drops them off down the street from a local ice cream place in the city. Camila gets out of the car and opens Lauren’s side of the door, out stretching her hand for her to grab. Once Lauren stood beside her she shut the door and thanked their driver. Not many people are out as usual which makes since because its late at night and who even gets ice cream so late at night. As they are walking down Camila looks ahead and sees a pap on the other side of the street and smiles at her.
“ You seem stressed” Lauren says walking along side Camila as they walk past a few awestruck faces making there way down.
“Really? i’m sorry about that” She mutters to Lauren giving her a apologetic look.
Lauren reaches down and interlocks their fingers, causing Camila to look down. She noticed a slight blush on her cheeks, “ I get it, but the perfect way to relieve it is ice cream” She said causing Camila to chuckle.
“What else are you stressing about? I mean is someone the cause of this?”
“Are you trying to get me to say i’m stressed about Hailee” Camila said glancing at Lauren raising her eyebrow.
“what? never” Lauren said lying. Camila just smiled at at her and was about to respond until they got to the front of the ice cream place.
“Here we are, this looks good” Camila said tugging Lauren into the ice cream shop. Lauren gave her a questioning look because the place looked a bit run down.
“Come on, don’t be scared” Lauren shrugs and looks around the shop more. A couple was sitting at one of the tables both eating there ice cream, but sharing with each other. She glanced over to see Camila ordering ice cream. She looked back to the couple thinking about if that would ever happen to her. If shes been looking in the right places for love.
Camila calls over Lauren over and talks with the owner of the ice cream place as he made their ice cream.
“Here you are” He placed two cups of ice cream in front of them
Camila smiles and grabs Lauren’s cup and hands it to her “Thank you” She tells him. He just smiles and walks to the back of the shop.
“How did you know I wanted Chocolate?” Lauren asked while taking a scoop into her mouth.
“Even if you say you don’t like chocolate, you still eat a lot of it” Camila said causing Lauren to chuckle and agree.
Once both girls finished their ice creams, they left the shop. During their time together, they both caught up with one another once again.
“What should we do now?” Lauren asks. It wasn’t that late at night, but it was pretty dark outside for both of them. Camila was about to reply until she felt her phone vibrate again. She glanced at it and let out a sigh.
Hailee: Camila…can we talk, i really need to see you
“Camz, whats wrong?” Lauren says “Be honest”
“Well” Camila said coming up with an excuse “Something just came up and I have to be somewhere”
Lauren felt her heart clench with disbelief, she should trust Camila. It could be something important.
“Right, well I hope everything is well. I’ll see you soon” Lauren was about to walk away until Camila tugged on her hand.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Camila said not letting go of her hand.
“Aren’t you leaving?”
“Yes, but I need to make sure you get home safe” Camila said letting go of her hand before grabbing her phone and dialing a number. Lauren didn’t really hear what she was saying on the phone, but once Camila got off the phone she muttered a quick 'thanks’.
“Well your ride will be here in 5 minutes” she said putting her phone back in her pocket. Lauren just nods and moves to sit on one of the benches near them. Camila takes a seat next to her. Camila starts picking at a flower next to her.
“Camila, what are you doing?” Lauren said glancing over at Camila.
“Looking at a daisy, duh” She replied sarcastically, still picking at it.
“I know, but why" Camila gestures the flower towards Lauren, telling her to grab it. Lauren takes it and examines the flower, of course she’s seen many daisy’s before, but she is confused as to why Camila gave it to her. She was about to ask why, but Camila beat her to it.
"It reminds me of you” Camila whispers, she reaches over and grabs the flower back from Lauren. “ It symbols Hope” Camila was examining the flower, while still picking at the peddles.
“What does that have to do with me?” Lauren questioned, she gives herself a moment to study Camila’s side profile. She sees Camila as the most beautiful person she has seen, sure Lauren has been people just as beautiful, but none compared to Camila.
“You gave me hope, Lauren” Camila started “ You always have. You always had hope for me to change, You never gave up” Lauren took the flower that Camila handed her and smiled.
“Tell me more” Lauren said intrigued while turning towards her. She bits her lip to hide her grin.
“You are real, you are the most confident person i’ve met. You take pride in your culture and you aren’t afraid to show who you love. You’re honest, I can just go on” Lauren felt pride swell up in her chest, it was extremely heartwarming for her to hear that.
“You always were the romantic type” Lauren jokes out.
“Only when it comes to you” Camila said making eye contact with Lauren, she grins at her. “I meant it when I said i changed, I hope you can see that”
Lauren was about to respond until a car horn caught their attention and they see the driver from earlier here for Lauren.
“Theirs your ride” Camila stood up and grabbed Lauren’s hand and led her to the car. She opened to car door for her but before Lauren could go in Camila grabbed her shoulders and leaned her to kiss her cheek. She pulled back and smiled at Lauren, soon Camila motioned her in.
“I’ll text you” Camila said shutting the car door. The car took off and Camila was out of Lauren’s view.
During the drive back to the Hotel, Lauren got a text from the groupchat.
*H4rmony Groupchat*
Normani: so how did it go ? ;)
Lauren: not guys again
Dinah: ouch, I’m hurt lo:(
Ally: guys let her be! She’ll tell us when she gets back right ??!
Lauren: we just went out for ice cream that’s all
Dinah: I expected more
Lauren chuckled at her band mates text and was about to reply back and when she got another text message, but from Camila.
Camila: I had a great time today :) I hope you get home safe
Lauren: I had fun too! I hope you fix whatever is happening right now:/ have a good night
Lauren put her phone away after sending the text to Camila. She’s letting her mind wander and she doesn’t want to think about the possibly of Camila going to see Haliee. They did break up so it would make no sense for her to go see the girl. She reached into her pocket and pulled out the daisy that Camila gave her. She was glad that she was finally able to change Camila from how she was before.
-
After Camila sent Lauren a text to make sure she got home safely. She called an Uber to go to an address she’s known. The ride there was short and once she arrived she paid the Uber and got out of the vehicle. She stood in front of a familiar house.
Camila knocked on the front door and soon the door was opened. She made no move to go inside. She was face to face with the person she dreaded to see.
“You better have a good reason for me to be here right now” Camila said coming face to face with Hailee.
-
