Chapter 11- Attack on Castle Town
It was infuriating
Two whole days had passed since Link and Rusl arrived to Castle Town, yet it felt like no one was making an effort to come up with a plan. They had talked about hunting the beast down, luring it in, or waiting to see when it would attack again to then strike. But it felt like they were talking in circles, the conversation melting into the talk of the mundane.
Rusl, of course, loved visiting with his friends and talking to them about whatever came to mind, but not now. Not when that thing just attacked his children and threatened his home. The anxiety ate up at him, and he found himself unable to sit still at the table where everyone else sat. So he stood in the corner, his arms crossed as he glared at the others.
âSo we should head to Faron since it was in Ordon last night, right?â Shad asked, staring at the map.
âNo, it was just in Faron, it mightâve moved,â Link corrected.
âDidnât sound like it moved from when it first attacked you guys,â Ashei butted in, her arms crossed at the table.
Link pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes. âI guessâŠâ
âSo we head to Faron?â Auru suggested, and Sheik finally stepped into the conversation.
âIt seems like the most logical place to go, but we need to know how to fight this monster. If five soldiers couldnât kill it, then I doubt six of us could.â
âYes, but we do have one more person,â Shad said, his finger in the air, âand weâre more prepared.â
âItâs not like the soldiers of Hyrule are anything impressive,â Auru muttered, and Sheik looked away.
âWill you be fighting though Shad?â Link asked, and Shad gave him an offended look.
âWhyâof course, old boy! I may not wield a sword but I have a weapon stronger than that!â The scholar patted his book, and Auru snorted.
âAre you going to throw the book at the monster?â
The group erupted into laughter and Rusl rolled his eyes. They were getting off track again.
âNo! I have my head right here!â Shad defended himself, and Auru laughed harder.
âGreat! So weâll use your head as a weapon when the rest of ours break!â
âI meant my brain!â Shad stood up in fury, but his fiance pulled him back down, an amused smile on her face.
âWe get what you mean, Shad,â she said and gave him a peck on the cheek. Rusl sighed and cleared his throat loudly, catching the attention of Auru and Link. His son looked down, a slightly guilty look on his face, and his fingers interlocked together.
âWell, we may have a better chance than the soldiers, but we still need a plan,â he said, and Rusl felt relieved that they were finally strategizing. He and Link discussed strategies several times, but ultimately they wanted to brainstorm with the others for more ideas.
âYou fought the beasts, old boy,â Shad started, his anger having disappeared entirely, âwhat is your suggestion?â
Link looked down, his eyebrows furrowed. âI⊠I donât know. This isnât a normal shadow beast.â
âI remember they were a challenge,â Auru contemplated. âHaving to kill them all at the same time was⊠infuriating.â
âThey just kept coming back to life,â Ashei added, and the rest of the group nodded.
âWell, as long as you killed them at the same time, they were relatively easy,â Link said. âBut this beast is alone, so I donât think we have to worry about it coming back to life once itâs dead. Itâs just⊠tough.â
Sheik nodded. âIt has to have a weakness though. We will weaken it, keep our distance, andâŠâ they grabbed their right hand, âperhaps we could get the light spiritâs assistance? If itâs from the twilight, I doubt pure, divine light will feel good, hm?â
Linkâs eyes widened as if he realized something and he nodded. âThatâs a great idea, Sheik. Weâll get the light spirits to help weaken it, and while itâs down, weâll give it everything we have.â
The group seemed to agree with the planâif Rusl could even call it a planâand Auru raised his drink.
âTo victory then,â he cheered, and the others raised their own, with Link simply bumping his fist since he didnât have one. Rusl let out a sigh and pushed his frustrations aside. He wasnât sleeping well, and the anxiety felt like it was eating him up inside, so he was much more quick to anger than normal. But he had to try to be patientâthey were going to get to deal with the threat, he knew it. He just had to slow down with the rest of them.
âAlright, letâs head out then,â Rusl muttered, stepping closer to the group, but Sheik stood up.
âNot yet. I must convey this information with some⊠allies. They may help if something were to go wrong.â
Link and Ashei seemed understanding while Auru and Shad seemed indifferent, but Rusl was exasperated.
âWhat? Weâre notâwhen will you be back?â He asked, a sharpness to his voice as his patience was wearing thin.
âIâm not sure, hopefully before tonightââ
âTonight? Where in the spiritâs name will you be going?â He snapped. Sheikâs eyes widened in surprise and they looked around uncomfortably.
âI just have things I need to do,â they muttered, and Link looked up at his pa, a worried expression on his face.
âWe donât have time! We should leave now and deal with it before it takes more people!â Rusl argued, and Auru stood up.
âIf what Sheik says is true, then we should get help if something were to go wrong. Calm downââ
âDonât tell me to calm down!â Rusl shouted, leaving everyone surprised. âYou donât know what type of a threat this thing is! If we wait any longer, we could lose it!â
âRusl,â Auru started, his hands raised in an effort to calm him. âI know, but we are merely six people⊠and⊠really itâd only be four of you physically fighting itâI may not be able to do much. We need all the help we can get.â
âBut itâll be too late! We wonât be able to travel until the morning!â
Shad hummed. âMaybe leaving at night would help us find it better.â
âNo, that's a horrible idea,â Link jumped in, and Rusl let out a groan.
âI canât sit around any longer, I need this thing dead!â
âGoddesses, what has gotten into you?â Auru asked. âYou were perfectly fine this morningââ
âThat was because I thought we were safe during the day,â Rusl spat. âI thought we had more time as long as everyone stayed in at night. But no, itâs dangerous no matter what time it is! We canât stall anymore!â
Everyone looked at each other. Ashei looked understanding, Sheik looked guilty, while Link looked uncomfortable at the outburst. Rusl blinked a few times and let out a sigh, running his hands through his hair.
âIâIâm sorry IâŠâ He started, but he couldnât get the words out. He looked up at Auru who stared blankly at him and he turned away. âYou do what you need to do Sheik, Iâm gonna go cool my head,â he said softly, and he left the backroom, ignoring Telmaâs confused look as he burst through the door to the bar. He didnât know where he was goingâhe supposed he was simply walking around the town to clear his head. The lack of sleep from the past few nights was catching up to him, and the fear surrounding the shadow beast plagued his waking mind. He felt like he couldnât escape it, and he just wanted it taken care of so he could finally rest. He supposed with his own children and grandson having to get involved, it finally caused him to break.
The loud noises of the town wasnât doing him any favors, so he went through the southern gate to escape to somewhere quieter, leaving behind the shops lined up next to Telmaâs bar and entering a clearing. It was empty and peaceful, with a fountain in between cobblestone stairs that poured out the bluest water. Rusl walked to the fountain and kneeled, the anxiety and anger leaving his body to make way for vulnerability. He opened his heart and prayed.
He didnât know who he was praying to; he wasnât exactly praying to Ordona, or the light spirits themselves. But he found himself praying to someone. He prayed that he and the others would be safe, he prayed that his children would be safe, and he prayed that his wife would be protected. Goddesses she mustâve been worried sick over themâshe always got extremely upset over these things. He hoped that she would know that the children were safe, and that she wouldnât blame herself for what happened. As he prayed, tears started to trickle out of his eyes, and he leaned forward to rest his head against the stone. He was so tired, so tired from everything that happened to him from the past few days. The beast would plague his mind every moment, even if he was asleep. He couldnât escape it no matter what he did, and now his own family was involvedâhis own children.
âPapa?â
Relaâs soft voice broke the silence, causing Rusl to sit up and turn his head to look at his daughter. He wiped his tears quickly and forced a smile, and she looked nervous as her hands fidgeted with each other.
âRela, what the heck are you doinâ out here by yourself?â Rusl asked. âI thought you were sleeping.â
âI⊠Uh⊠I couldnât sleep,â she said softly. âI wanted to talk to you and I saw you walk out so I followed you and⊠uhâŠâ
Ruslâs smile went away and he sighed. âI donât want you by yourself in town. Monsters ainât the only thing we need to look out for.â
âI know⊠butâŠâ Relaâs arms wrapped around her waist. Her pa gave a more genuine smile and gestured for her to join him. She was hesitant, but she finally joined him, kneeling on the ground as she stared at the fountain. Rusl stared at her for a moment and finally pulled her close, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth as she leaned into his hug. She was never a touchy person, always hating his hugs and kisses, so he made sure to enjoy any moment where she enjoyed his touch.
âUm⊠papaâŠ.â Rela started, her fingers fidgeting more now. âI need to tell you something.â
Rusl raised an eyebrow and pulled away to fully look at her. âWhat is it?â
âThe reason⊠um⊠the reason that me and Colin and Kori are here is that⊠umâŠâ
âThe monster?â
Rela shook her head, shame apparent on her face. âNo⊠I meanâyesâbut⊠itâs my fault weâre here.â
Rusl frowned. âWhat do you mean?â
âI was⊠I was trynâa teach Kori how to sword fight âcause I knew that there was a monster in the woods but⊠I accidentally left your wooden swords in the water at the spring and I went to go get them andâŠâ Rela sighed. âI dragged everyone into it âcause I was dumb⊠Iâm sorry papa.â
âOh.â Rusl certainly wasnât expecting Rela to say any of that. âSo⊠yâall left Ordon?â
âWell⊠me and Kori were practicinâ in Ordon spring, but we met the soldiers and we showed them where yâall found the monsterâŠâ Rela sighed. âBut we wouldnât have been there in the first place if not for me. Iâm sorry.â
Rusl stared, not knowing how to react. He could be angry, he could be sad, or he could be horrified, but he brushed it all away. She shouldnât blame herself.
âSweetie, I wasnât clear enough with yâall,â he said softly, looking down at her. She did not look back up at him. âYou didnât understand the danger we were in. I certainly didnât make it more clear. Donât put all the blame on yourself.â
Rela frowned. âBut⊠I still left.â
âNot on purpose. And I suppose I shouldâve told yâall to stay away from the spring.â Rusl let out another sigh and he gave Rela a squeeze. âBesides, itâs in the past. Me and Link are gonna head out tomorrow to fight it. I want yâall to stick with Colin here until itâs safe, ok?â
Rela nodded. âOkâŠâ
âWait, weâre not goinâ homeââ
Rusl and Rela flinched at Kori who was suddenly behind them, with Rusl grabbing his daughter closer to him as he moved from the young twilian. Kori watched them with a bewildered expression as they stared horrified, and Rusl let out a breathy laugh.
âSpirits above, Kori. You scared the living daylights outta me!â He breathed, letting Rela go. âWhyâre you here?â
âI heard Rela leave,â he answered simply, and Rusl rolled his eyes with an annoyed smile.
âOk, no more going out into Castle Town by yourselves, ok?â He scolded. Kori looked down and tapped his feet on the cobblestone, and Rusl raised an eyebrow. âWhereâd you come from anyways? I didnât hear you at all.â
âOh, I was in the shadows!â He answered, and Rusl and Rela glanced at each other.
âWhat the hell are you talkinâ about?â Rela asked, and Rusl let out a sigh.
âWatch your language sweetie. And Kori, I have to ask as well. What do you mean you were âin the shadowsâ?â
Kori grinned, his dimples appearing just below his black markings. âWatch this!â
To Ruslâs surprise, his grandson suddenly morphed into a dark figure, diving into his and Relaâs shadow next to them. Rela jumped to her feet and stared at her own shadow wide eyed, Koriâs little blue eyes appearing to stare back.
âKori? Since when could you do that?â She yelled out, and Kori emerged from the shadows, giggling slightly.
âSince last night.â
âAnd youâre mentioning it now? Do you realize how cool that power is? You can hide in the shadows!â
Rela and Kori began to chatter excitedly over his new power, while Rusl glanced around at the empty plain in front of him. The wind blew slightly, the sunlight dimmed, and an uneasy feeling began to overwhelm him. He stood up and started to nudge the kids closer to the gate, checking behind him to make sure he wasnât being followed. There was nothing there, but he still hurriedly pushed the kids to safety.
âAlright, itâs time to head back to the bar,â he said, his arms wrapped around the two. âAnd Iâm serious about not traveling alone in town. Itâs dangerous, ok?â
âYes papa.â
âOk grandpa!â
Rusl smiled, but it quickly faded as he thought about the two, his babies, facing such a horrifying monsterâŠ
They were too young, too innocent to see such horrors. Goddesses, what kind of a man was heâwhat kind of a father was heâto let them suffer so? His grip on them tightened as he led them through the busy town, determination flowing through him. He wasnât going to fail againâ he was going to protect them. Even if it killed him.
âKitties!â
Kori suddenly pulled away from Rusl, running to a home with cats in the front playing with a ball. Rusl sighed, but he allowed the children to play with the cats, not really wanting to see the others just yet.
âHi baby,â Kori cooed, holding his hand out for a kitten, who sniffed at his hand cautiously. Rela tapped the ball, sending it rolling for the other cats to chase after, and she giggled as they pounced each other. Rusl wished he could enjoy watching them play, but a sinking feeling of dread made him antsy, and he kept looking around him as if he were to be attacked any second. The townsfolk seemed to be anxious as well, with them hurrying to the homes and emptying the streets. Rusl turned to the kids and tapped Relaâs shoulder, gesturing to the direction of the bar with his head.
âItâs time to go. Say goodbye to the kitties.â
âAw, but he just started to like me!â Kori whined, holding the kitten in his arms.
âIâm sorry kid, but itâs time to head back. Come on.â
Kori pouted but obeyed, reluctantly leaving the kitty behind. Rusl was pushing them faster now, wanting to get inside the bar as soon as possible, which clearly annoyed them with his hands gripping their shoulders.
âWhatâs the matter, grandpa Rusl?â Kori asked, glancing at Ruslâs hand.
âNothinâ, I just think itâs best if we head inside. A storm might be cominâ.â
âWell you donât have to grab my shoulder like that!â Rela complained, trying to shake off his hand as she spun around. âI can walk on my own you knoââ
A scream from his daughter interrupted her, and Rusl moved on instinct, grabbing the two children and sprinting towards crates for cover. Behind him he heard a slam along with screams, and when he turned, the beast was watching him, snarling growling.
The beast⊠the shadow beast⊠it was hereâit was here.
Was it following them?
The beastâs snarl was aimed at him, and Rusl froze in fear, the fear of that night returning to him in full force. He was in danger, it was going to kill him, he was going to die, he was going to die he was going to dieâ
Rela screamed again in fear, burying her face in Ruslâs shirt while Kori remained quiet and stiff, which snapped him out of his stupor. It wasnât just him that was in danger, but his children. By the goddesses he wasnât going to let this thing hurt them again.
The shadow beast watched him, as if waiting for him to make a move. Its black, leathery skin looked like a void against the light cobblestone, save for the yellow teeth that dripped a black goo out of its mouth, staining the stone. It didnât look different from when Rusl first encountered it, just as horrifying as before, yet it felt far more powerful, with a dark magic emanating from it. People were screaming in the town, running like wild animals to get away from the beast, but Rusl ignored them, shoving Rela and Kori behind him.
âRela, get Kori to Telmaâs bar and tell the others to come here,â he commanded, keeping his eyes on the beast as it stared.
âB-b-but p-paââ Rela stuttered, but Rusl pushed her away.
âGet away from here!â He yelled, causing Rela to flinch, but she got up, trying to drag Kori behind her, though the boy was frozen.
Right as she and Kori moved though, the beast reacted and began to charge at the two. Rusl gasped and grabbed a crate, swinging it and throwing it right at the beast, which stopped it before it could reach the children. The crate shattered on impact, allowing Rusl to grab a broken piece to use as a makeshift weapon against the beast. It wasnât as good as a sword, but hopefully itâd be enough to buy Rela and Kori time. Rusl swung the broken piece at the beastâs head before it was able to fully recover, it being almost pathetic at how little it reacted from the hit. After the wooden piece bounced off its head, it turned and snapped its jaws at Rusl, the teeth smacking against each other when it missed.
âCome on! Over here!â He shouted, trying to divert its attention from where Rela and Kori were, which worked for a moment as it turned its head to look at him.
âCome on Kori! Move!â Rusl heard Rela shout, and it drew the beastâs attention back to them. To Ruslâs horror, Kori was frozen in fear, staring at the beast with wide eyes as Rela tried to drag him back to the bar. Rusl sprinted to them just as the beast charged. Rela screamed and ran away, her hand slipping from Koriâs as she tried to pull him with her, leaving him alone as the beast got closer and closer. But Rusl got to him first.
He grabbed his grandson and rolled out of the way, dodging the beastâs rampage. Rusl searched for his daughter, but she was long gone, and the beast recovered too fast for him to stall any longer. He sent a prayer to the spirits to keep Rela safe and he ran to Malo Mart, slamming the door and setting Kori down. The poor boy was still frozen, his breathing rapid and tears forming in his eyes. Rusl moved him away from the door, cupping his face.
âKori, look at me,â he said as calmly as he could as the boy started to sob. âKori, I need you to be brave for me, ok? Hide out here, and do not come out unless I say so, ok?â
Kori stood sobbing for a moment, and Rusl wiped his tears and readjusted his head so he was looking at him.
âKori, everything is going to be ok, ok?â He reassured, and he buried the boy in a hug. âNow hide in the shadows or whatever it is you can do and stay away from the door, you hear?â
Kori sniffled and nodded, seeming to calm down just enough to be able to think. Rusl smiled, but the moment of safety was gone in an instant when the roof broke, and a large, black hand reached out to grab them. Rusl pushed Kori away right as the hand landed on him, knocking the breath out of him.
Rusl grunted as the hand tightened around him, and he was lifted up through the hole. Kori watched in horror, moving to try to reach him, but Rusl waved him away, struggling in the thingâs grip.
âHide Kori!â He yelled out, and he was pulled out of the building, his grandsonâs voice calling out to him from within the building.
Rusl clawed at the fingers wrapped tightly around him, and he was suddenly inches away from the thingâs face. The stench from the monsterâs hot breath nearly suffocated him, the endless, black mouth was open wide, and he flinched away, only to be trapped in its grip. Panic spiked within his chest as memories from the night of their first meeting flooded inâthe memory of the tight throat swallowing him down, the slime and goo falling on every inch of his body, the tendrils in its stomach grabbing onto himâŠ
âNo, no no no!â He shouted, struggling against the beastâs hold while staring at its teeth in horror, but it didnât put him in its mouth again. Instead it simply put him in one of its back hands as if he were a worthless toy, going back to digging around in the shop, and Rusl gasped as realization hit him. It was after Kori.
âKORI!â Rusl yelled in warning as the beast broke another hole through the roof. He squirmed and shifted, but his arms were pinned to his sides, the monsterâs grip tight around him.
Just as the beast was about to tear another hole into the roof, an explosion hit the monsterâs left side, causing it to shriek in pain. Rusl felt its grip around him loosen, and he was able to get one arm free before the grip tightened again. He looked to see where the explosion came from, and he saw Auru kneeling on the ground, his bazooka on one shoulder as he glared at the beast. Ashei and Shad were behind him, with Asheiâs longsword drawn and protectively in front of Shad, who stared at the beast wide-eyed.
âYou better drop him now or else Iâll shoot again!â Auru yelled, aiming his weapon, but the beast didnât seem threatened, and instead returned to trying to find Kori. Auru followed through on his threat and shot at the monster again, it shrieking in pain when it was hit, but it remained stubborn. Rusl watched Ashei run to the building, climbing to the top with her sword still drawn. She sprinted to the beast and sliced at its injured shoulder, making it flinch away. Annoyed, it went to smack Ashei off the roof, but she dodged and countered with another swipe of her sword, hitting its right arm once again. The beast snarled and directed its full attention to the woman, slamming its fist at her as she hopped back and forth. It soon began to swing its claws at her when squishing her didnât work, but Ashei was quick despite the armor she had on, and she ducked to avoid the beastâs claws. The shadow beast grew agitated, and it slammed its fist hard against the roof next to Ashei, which didnât hurt her, but it caused her to lose her footing, and she wasnât able to dodge the monster slapping her off of the roof. Ashei yelled out as she flew, landing on the cobblestone ground with a sickening crack.
âAshei!â Shad shouted as she fell off, sprinting to her side as she struggled to stand up. Her face was pale, she cradled her side, and she looked like she was struggling to breathe, which made Rusl worried. The beast turned to look at Ashei and Shad, and Auru let another shot from his weapon loose, which hit it right in the chest. It shrieked in pain, but remained standing on the roof.
âHow many hits is it gonna take?â Auru exasperated, loading his weapon again.
âAuru, Iâm afraid youâre going to hit Rusl!â Shad yelled, but he didnât listen as he shot the beast again. Everytime, Auru hit the beast head-on, which Rusl felt as the shock rippled through his body, the heat making him sweat. But the blasts never hurt him directly, with the monster feeling most of the pain, and its grip loosened enough for Rusl to get his other arm free. But once again, its fingers tightened around him just as he was about to slip away.
âOh come on,â Rusl groaned in frustration, feeling his sides bruise from the grip. The beast recovered from the blast again, and faced Auru with fury radiating off of it. But before it could pounce, Rusl heard a sword being drawn and spotted Link right as he landed on the beast, the blade of his sword facing down and piercing the leathery back.
The shadow beast let out a shriek that rang out through the entire town, stinging Ruslâs ears from the shrill, and he gasped as the grip finally loosened, causing him to fall. He landed on the roof with a painful thud, his knees and ankles stinging from the impact, but there was no time to sit there as the beast wailed in pain.
âLink!â Rusl shouted, scrambling to his aching feet. His son glanced over at him, his grip around his sword tight. âKoriâs below us! Itâs after him!â
Linkâs eyes widened in realization, his glare turning into a horrified expression, but before he could do anything, the beast stood up straight, making Link hang onto the sword still embedded into its back. Then it jumped back, threatening to crush Link. Link jumped to Rusl before he could get trapped between the roof and the monster, and the roof beneath them collapsed from the impact. Pain exploded in Ruslâs body as Link landed on him, and everything went dark, the sounds of debris falling being the last thing he heard.
~~~
There was chaos in Castle Town. She knew from the screams and broken buildings, but she paid it no mind. As soon as Ruslâs daughter barged into the bar where she and the others still sat, they were all up and ready to go fight the beast, knowing that the time for planning was over. Sheik had planned to tell Edmund about the beast, as a safety measure in case she didnât make it back, but she supposed there was no time for that now. She just had to trust that Edmund would notice the giant shadow beast attacking the town.
Instead of joining the others in the fight, however, Sheik was standing in her room at the bar, praying to the light spirits the same way she did ten years ago. She knew that the light arrows she acquired from them would aid them in the fight, but it was a matter of getting them to help again. Truthfully, she didnât know if they would. The tyranny of Ganondorf was over; the threat of the world was no longer there, but she hoped that they would understand the threat now.
âOh light spirits,â she started, the only sound of her voice in her room feeling awkward, but she continued, âI ask for your help once again, to help defeat an evil that threatens Hyrule.â
Nothing happened, so she continued, ignoring the unease in her heart. âI need the light arrows to defeat this foe. It is a shadow beast, but it is a powerful one. Please, itâs taken and harmed my people. I need to defeat it.â
It remained silent, the familiar feeling of the divine spirits didnât appear, and panic began to settle in. Why werenât they responding? They immediately replied to her during the invasion, granting her the light arrows that stunned Ganondorf long enough for Link to fight him. But now it felt like they were ignoring her. Why?
âPlease,â she begged, kneeling on the ground and bowing her head. âPlease, help me. I must protect Hyrule, I must fulfill my duty as a queen andâand as a mother. Please.â
Frustration began to build up in her as nothing happened. Everything felt easier back then for her despite nearly losing her kingdom. She felt like she could focus, like she could clear her head to figure out what to do. But now everything felt hard, impossible. Like she was trapped in quicksand that she couldnât escape. Every decision led to a terrible consequence, where she would bear the weight of the blame due to her position. Not looking into the disappearances earlier, not spending time with her family, not building good relationships with people, stretching herself thin where she felt like she could barely do anythingâ
Goddesses, she couldnât fail. There were too many people depending on herâan entire kingdom depended on her.
âPlease, I need your help,â she tried one more, resting her head on the ground, her voice shaking, âI cannot do this without you.â
âZelda.â
Her head shot up, finding herself in a dark world that was lit up by the water and the light spirits watching her. Relief swelled in her, and she bowed her head.
âThank you, light spirits,â she started, âI need you helpââ
âNo you do not,â the spirit of Lanayru interrupted her, the snake-like eyes watching her. Zelda paused, taken aback from the sudden bluntness.
âW-What do you mean?â
âYou do not need our help.â
âIâYes, I do. I need the light arrows to defeat a beast of darknessââ
âAnd you were wise in searching for the light arrowsâŠâ
âBut⊠youâre not going to give them to me?â
Eldin moved closer to her. âYou already have themâŠâ
Zelda paused, looking down at her empty hands. âIâŠI already have them?â
âYouâve always had them,â Faron jumped in, tilting their head. âThey never left you.â
âIâHow do I get them then? Iâve never used them since Ganondorf.â
âThat is something you will have to figure out yourselfâŠâ Faron explained.
âYou do not put enough faith in yourselfâŠâ Eldin added.
âAnd so you struggle to find that divine powerâŠâ Lanayru finished.
Zelda frowned, rubbing her right hand where the triforce of wisdom glowed. âHow do I find it then? How⊠how do I simply put faith in myself?â
âIt is no easy taskâŠyouâve dealt with many obstacles in your life nowâŠwe do not blame you for struggling soâŠâ
âBut you must learn to be kind to yourselfâŠyou are only a HylianâŠâ
âA Hylian that is responsible for my kingdom,â Zelda grumbled. âI must be hard on myself otherwise Iâll never make the right decision!â
Lanayru shook their head. âYouâll simply overthink everythingâŠyou put too much pressure on yourselfâŠâ
Zelda paused, looking down at the bright water, the memory of her and Edmundâs conversation playing through her mind.
â⊠looking at you now, Iâve grown more worried than upset,â Edmund said to her. âYouâve overworked yourself so much to the point that you collapsed. Thatâs not a good thing. I suppose I⊠I just want to know why youâre so intent on doing everything yourself, when Iâm here to⊠help you.â
She had put so much pressure on herself that she literally passed out from exhaustion, and her mind has felt foggy ever since. Perhaps itâs felt foggy long before the disappearances have gotten worse, since the twilight invasionâŠ
Goddesses, everything has felt impossible, cloudy, and too heavy for her to bear. But she didnât know how to receive helpâshe didnât know how to fix it. Yet it clearly was keeping her from the light arrows, so much so that the light spirits recognized it.
âIâŠseeâŠâ she simply said. âIâve always had the light arrows?â
âYesâŠyouâve always had them⊠you just need to learn how to use themâŠâ
Zelda sighed, frowning as she stared at her hands. A familiar, warm tingling sensation started at where her triforce piece lingered, and she nodded. She could do this, she had to.
âCan I ask you one more thing then?â She asked, looking up at the light spirits. They each nodded, and Zelda got to her feet, still keeping her head bowed. âWhat are we up against?â
Ordona stepped forward, with the others making way for her. âThis is a shadow beast⊠one of the first created by the usurper ZantâŠit has lingered in the Twilight Realm all these years, getting strongerâŠâ
âIf itâs from the Twilight Realm, how did it get here?â Zelda asked, thinking of Midna somehow coming back for Kori.
âIt has stolen force from the Twili there⊠growing strong enough to be able to move between worlds while staying hiddenâŠâ
âForce? Like⊠life force?â
The spirits each looked at each other, and the world around them began to fade.
âYour kingdom needs you, Queen of HyruleâŠgo, and save themâŠâ
Zelda blinked and she was suddenly back in the room. She still felt clouded and weak, but she knew that her friends needed her, as did her kingdom. Ignoring the questions that werenât answered, she looked at the triforce of wisdom on her hand and closed her eyes, reaching deep within her to access the magic she had. The warm feeling in her hand began again, and it spread throughout her chest. For a moment, she felt the power in her flow through her veins, a warmth in her fingers.
Then it went away.
Zelda opened her eyes to see nothing in front of her, only the empty room above the inn. Her brows furrowed as she stared at her hands, the fingers trembling slightly.
âI donât understand,â she whimpered, clenching her fists, âI need them! How do I⊠why couldnât you just tell me?â
The room remained silent as Sheik sat there, her prayers unanswered and her hands empty. She looked around her, kneeled down, and once again tried to reach deep within herself to find the arrows, but there was nothing. Not even the faint glow of the triforce of wisdom appeared.
âCome on! I canât leave without them! I said Iâd get them, why canât I get them?â Sheik punched the floor in frustration, her divine magic suddenly feeling like it was being sucked out of her. She simply asked back then, and the light spirits answered. Of course it had to be different now, of course it had to be harder for her.
A faint explosion was heard outside, along with screaming, and Sheik finally sat up, looking around the room. She could sulk in the room forever, but she still had a duty to the resistance; she needed to help them, empty-handed.
Admitting defeat, Sheik stood up and ran to the window, jumping out and climbing onto the roof. Immediately she spotted a cloud of smoke ahead of her, with the sounds of roaring and yelling, and she took off towards it. A shop in front of the fountain was completely destroyed, with Link trying to distract the shadow beast while Rusl laid unconscious in the rubble, and Kori worriedly looked over him. Sheik grimaced at the sight, dread resting in her stomach as she watched Rusl, pale and unmoving.
âG-Grandpaââ the little boy whimpered, shaking him gently, but he didnât wake up.
âKori, get out of here!â Link yelled, but Kori remained frozen at his grandfatherâs side. They were helpless against the thing, and Sheik couldnât help but feel her blood freeze at the sight of the creature. It truly looked far more powerful than the normal shadow beasts, and she could feel the powerâthe forceâradiating off of it. Memories of the twilight invasion came flooding in, with her watching shadow beasts killing her soldiers right before her very eyes, her own parents twisting and morphing into the black creatures by Zantâs hands, and her watching helplessly as it all happened. Itâs all she wasâhelpless!
It turned from Link and spotted Kori, directing its attention to him, and Link tried to get it to turn back around.
âDonât you dareâLOOK AT ME!â He yelled, desperate to keep his son safe, but it was in vain as the beast turned fully to Kori, who hugged Rusl in fear. The rest of the resistance seemed to be down, with Shad trying to help Ashei off the ground and Auru loading his bazooka frantically, and Sheik knew that Link wouldnât be able to stop it from charging at Kori and Rusl. For some reason, a vision shot through her mind, one of the beast attacking her daughter in the same manner, and something inside her snapped. If she failed to kill this monster, then it was going to harm her daughter, and she couldnât bear to let that happen.
She wasnât going to let it happen.
As soon as the beast started to charge towards Kori, she jumped from the roof, landing in front of him and aiming her right hand at the beast. The triforce of wisdom glowed against her hand, shining brightly against her eyes as the diving light warmed her entire body. The magic was soon condensed and it formed into the bow of light and arrows, floating before her until she grabbed hold of it. Without having time to think, she pulled the bow back with a light arrow and shot it straight at the beastâs chest.
The shriek from the beast rang out through the town, the light attacking every inch of it like lightning as if flinched away from her. Sheik heard a confused grunt and turned to see Rusl wide awake, his brows furrowed and eyes wide as he stared at Sheik.
âLook out!â Sheik heard someone yell, and she turned just in time to see the beast charging, its mouth snarling open wide that almost paralyzed her in fear. Sheâs never seen their faces before. Breaking out of her fear, she shot an arrow at it when it was inches away from her, and it shriveled, growing agitated from the pain. Sheik was about to shoot it again, but it began slamming the ground in anger, nearly smashing her in the process if Rusl hadnât pulled her out of the way, and she was huddled up next to him and Kori. The beast shrieked as the light attacked it, and Link got close to finish it off, but he was smacked away from the chaos.
âPapa!â Kori yelled, and ran to where his father landed.
âNo! Kori!â Rusl yelled, holding tight to his grandson and following.
Before they could move past the monster however, black magic formed from where the beast rampaged, spreading right under Sheik and the others. A red swirl appeared in the center beneath the shadow beast, a sight that was all too familiar to Sheik, and she suddenly felt trapped in one place from the black magic surrounding her. A dizziness assaulted her as she tried to stand, and to her horror, she watched as the light arrow and bow disappeared from her hands. Her fingers began to vanish, turning into black squares that were being sucked into the center of the portal, and the last thing she saw before disappearing was Link reaching out to her.
Ever since you picked up your daughter, thereâs been a hovering presence that wouldnât go away no matter where you went. From the park, to the grocery store, all the way home it clung to you like a bad itch. Despite looking over your shoulder and being met without any sort of threat, that didnât stop the uneasy feeling. And it only intensified when you received a knock on your front door.
You made a confused hum, checking the time on the microwave to confirm that it was indeed past the reasonable hour for potential visitors. Not to mention, you werenât expecting anyone.
The hairs on the back of your neck stood up, instincts telling you that something wasnât right, that your best option was to pretend you werenât home. However, the person on the other side knew otherwise as they knocked on the door again, this time with more fervor. You inhaled sharply, taking hesitant steps towards the door until you were mere feet away from it. Eventually, you worked up the courage to look through the peephole, your brows furrowing in distress when all you could see was blackâThey were covering it. All the more reason not to open the doorâŠ
What if itâs a robber? Ridiculous, they donât knock.
What if itâs just the neighbor? Why cover the peephole?
More and more did your mind swirl with endless possibilities, each one becoming less and less believable. Taking a long, deep breath, you doubled-checked the door-chain was on before slowly cracking it open. And as you attempted to peek through the sliver, nothing couldâve prepared you for the arm that forced its way through, startling you as you yelped, stumbling back as it made a grab at you.
Before you had the thought of shoving the door closed on the offenderâs arm they grabbed the little chain, then yanked it clean out of the wall. To your terror, a dark hooded figure entered your home, head hung low, concealing their identity.
You began to hyperventilate, backing up to keep distance as they staggered further into your home before kicking the door closed behind them, effectively blocking you from the exit. Surely, someone heard your scream and would check in, or call the police. But, how long did you have before the intruder decided to make a move? Not to mention, your sleeping child just down the hallâŠ
With that last thought in mind, you immediately steeled your nerves.
Even if you had to use your bare hands, you were going to do whatever it took to keep your baby out of harms way.
You reached for the closest weapon without taking your eyes off the figure, hands clasping onto a discarded umbrella that was leaned up against a closet door. It wasnât ideal, but it would have to do. Taking a defensive stance, you prepared for what you assumed to be the inevitable.
âI-I donât know who you are, or what you wantâŠb-but if you donât leaveâŠmy..my boyfriend will be home any minute! H-He knows how to fight, and heâll fuck you up if you try anything!â
Your means of intimation fall on deaf ears. It were as if you hadnât spoken at all. They justâŠstood there. Watching you from the darkness. That feeling, that hovering presence youâd been weary about all eveningâŠthere was no doubt in your mind it was because of this individual. Suddenly, they gave a watery chuckle, hand coming up to rub the lower half of their face as the chilling noise dissipated into soft snickers.
You sweatdropped. âI mean it! Heâll be here real soon, so you better get out of here before-â
â[_____]âŠâ the figure finally rasped, voice heavy with an emotion you couldnât decipher in the moment. You froze, eyes widening.
ââŠHow the hell do you know my name?â
Without much urgency, they stepped forward into the light. Beneath the warm glow, it took you mere seconds to recognize the person standing before you. You gasped, trembling hands dropping the umbrella, it landing with a harsh clatter. Soft, mortified hitches in your breath echoed through the small space, memories flashing before your eyes as you covered your gaping mouth.
âM.. Ma..â you whimpered, throat tightening. A shell of a man, who gazed upon you with stormy eyes flooded with tears at the mere sight of you.
He gave another strained laugh, muttering to himself as he soaked you all in. âNeeded to know.. Needed to know it was really youâŠâ
Mikey eyed you up, intensely, eerily silent as he did so. Then, he took in the surroundings, the warmth, the interior, the smell of dinnerâIt truly felt like a home. A bitter pill to swallow once he reminded himself that you built it without him.
His sharp gaze returned to your stunned expression. He sneered.
âMustâve been easy for you. To forget me and move on, just like that. Like I was nothing.â
You blinked, taken aback. All you could do was remain speechless, cemented to the ground with thoughts and questions racing in your head. Now matter how many times you opened your mouth, no sound would come out aside from choked whimpers.
âDo you knowâŠhow long Iâd been searching for you? Been mourning for you?â He hissed through clenched teeth. âWhen you left, I thought⊠I thought someone had taken you. That I lost you all because I was too stubborn to say Iâm sorryâŠâ
As he spoke, Mikey slowly closed the space between you. The more he came into the light, the more you could see how the years had treated him. His cheekbones were more pronounced, the dark circles under his eyes as well. His lips were dry, cracked, his fair skin now ghoulishly pale. If not for the black hoodie you wouldâve mistaken him as such; ghost of your past.
Your shoulders shook, hands hovering over your face as you gaped in disbelief. Heâd been looking for you?
That night, that stupid fight you could barely rememberâŠhe made it crystal clear that he wanted nothing to do with you. He pushed you away. Pushed so hard that you almost believed he really wouldnât have cared if you dropped dead. You knew he didnât mean it, knew it was just another dark impulseâŠbut none of that mattered when all your pregnancy tests came back positive just hours prior.
That night, you made the decision for the sake of your daughter. And also, for his sake. At the time, you were certain he wasnât ready to be a father. He was quick to rage, merciless, losing himself to the darkness you tried to protect him from. If you had stayed, you were certain Mikey wouldâve never forgiven himself if he lost control in front of his own flesh and blood, if the child grew to resent him for something he struggled to control.
You thought you were doing him a favorâŠbut it appears to have done the opposite.
âAnd this whole timeâŠyouâve been here, alive. Playing fucking house with someone else.â
You stiffened. Someone else? Your visible confusion only irritated him further.
He scoffed. âDonât play dumb. You said it yourself. Too bad he wonât be coming home anytime soon. Iâve already got Sanzu and the Haitanis looking around for the bastard. And when they find him, Iâll make him regret sticking his filthy dick inside you.â
Confusion morphed into realization. You did threaten him with said hypothetical boyfriendâŠBut, that was before you knew it was him!
âOh, ManjiroâŠâ you whispered. He glared, scorned.
âDonât you dare pity me. I mean, you got the family you always wanted, right? So who cares who it was with, right? Congratu-fucking-lations.â
You shook your head, exhaling deeply as you held your face in your hands. For years, he thought you dead. Then, when he received word of your appearance, he finds you with child. And not once did he consider that child to be his? Itâs likeâŠhe couldnât fathom the thought.
If only he had looked just a little bit closer, he wouldâve seen that she had his eyes. How they resembled those pools of ink that used to shine with so much hope back in his youth, so playful and full of loveâŠthose same eyes that now gazed upon you with contempt.
It stung.
He thought so low, not only of himself, but of you as well.
Taking a deep breath to reel in your emotions, tears began to well up in your eyes. He assumed they were tears for your doomed lover, further breaking his heart as Mikey clenched his fists to the point of nearly drawing blood. Luckily, even though you struggled to find the right words, someone else happily found them for you.
âPapa..?â
Both of you instantly drew your attention on the toddler standing near the kitchen, one fist clutching her blanket while the other rubbed the sleep from her eye. You glanced at Mikey, and he was stiller than stone. His once dead-stare had morphed into what could only be described as incredulous. Surely, he heard her incorrectlyâŠ
With a sniffle, you crouched down to address her, offering a soft grin as you nodded earnestly. âThatâs right, sweetheart. Papaâs finally come home.â
The little girl blinked sleepily, taking a second to reboot. But, as soon as the words registered, a bright smile stretched across her face as she excitedly rushed towards Mikey, throwing herself onto his legs and hugging them like a koala as she chirped, âPapa, home!â
Said man hobbled a bit at the force, arms windmilling as he caught himself to keep from falling backwards. He didnât know what to do with himself, especially when those big, round pools of ink opened and stared right up into his soul. Mikeyâs heart nearly stopped. With a hitch in his breath, the gangster did everything he could to hold his composure, looking between you and the child as you both gazed at him with so much warmthâŠit was suffocating.
Sensing he was overwhelmed, you reached down to scoop up the bubbly bundle, holding her close as you eyed Mikey, apprehensively.
He resembled a cornered animalâMuscles stiff, jaw tight, eyes wild. After a moment, Mikey began to slowly back away into the shadows of your home, conflicted, devastated. It wasnât until his back hit the door did he eventually fall to his ass, of which caused your child to giggle at how silly he was being. However, all you could do was hold back tears, watching as the reality started to weigh down on a man who just discovered he was a father.
Nervous, you gently explained. âI didnât leave you because of our spat, JiroâŠand I never moved on. I justâŠthought that Iâd be doing more harm than good sticking around when I found out I was pregnantâŠI didnât want to add any more stress on your plate, so IâŠâ
Mikey didnât respond. He sat there, stare vast and unfocused. But, you knew he hung on to every word. So you continued. âI wanted to tell you. ButâŠI wasnât sure how. At the time, I believed you had stopped caring about me altogether. And to hear youâd been looking for me, I-IâmâŠIâm so sorry. Iâm sorry you harbored all that guilt. I didnât mean for any of that to happen.â
Your daughter wiggled around in your hold, making small grunts in complaint. Her eyes were trained on his figure huddled in the dark, wanting to be acknowledged, wanting his attention. âPapa!â
Mikey flinched. He focused his gaze on the two you, haloed by the light emitting from the living room. You both were like salvation, reaching down to a broken sinnerâŠHow could she want anything to do with him? When he had missed so much alreadyâŠ
To keep from accidentally dropping her, you placed your daughter back on the ground, watching wearily as she wobbled all the way to Mikey, blanket in tow. You werenât worried about him hurting her, far from itâŠif anything, he appeared to be the fragile one.
Eventually, she made it to her destination, standing before him with a curious, but eager expression as she rested a hand on his knee. Mikey watched her, took in all of her features, every last detail as he engraved it to memory. She was beautiful, just like her mother. One would think his genes didnât stand a chance. But the eyes. That was all him. From his mother to his older brother to himself, there was no doubt in his mind that those were Sano eyes.
His lower lip quivered, reaching out hesitantly to caress her cheek. She didnât cower away, merely babbled as she began patting his knee, allowing his thumb to rub over her chubby cheek. You clasped your hands over your mouth, growing even more emotional at the delicate moment. Mikey looked enamored already, eyes subtly sparkling from what you could see as they interacted.
âI-I told her stories, about you. And I made sure to show her photos, too. Old ones, but still you nonetheless. I wanted her to know who her father truly was. Despite everything elseâŠâ
Your daughter cooed, then placed her blanket in Mikeyâs lap before climbing into it. Mikey didnât dare move, rigid as she made herself comfortable. He looked up at you, looking for guidance, for reassurance. Your encouraging smile was enough for him to hesitantly place his hands on her small back for support, carefully adjusting so that she was stable. She laid her head on his chest and stuck her thumb in her mouth, sighing contentedly.
And, for the first time in years, he smiled.
When you hadnât seen her familiar pigtails bobbing around, or heard any of her excited chatter with the receptionist up front, worry couldnât even begin to describe what you felt the moment you realizeâŠyour daughter wasnât here.
As soon as the meeting looked like it was wrapping up, you politely excused yourself from the room. Masking your worry wasn't too difficult, but there's no doubt a couple people might've noticed the spring in your step as you exited. One of them being Rindou Haitani. He watched you speed down the hall with mild interest, corner of his mouth ticking up ever so slightly as he thumbed around on his phone beneath the table. Having been updating his older brother during the meeting while he was on his smoke break, he was more than eager to inform him of the storm that was no doubt heading his way.
Little did the younger Haitani know, he was already dealing with one.
"And then, Haruka-kun tries to take Momo-kun's bento box because she had cuter animal shapes, but Momo-kun already said no, and so Haruka-kun pushes Momo-kun, and then tries to take it! But I pushed him and hit him with my fist, like this," she clenched up her tiny fist and held it up to Ran before striking down on his forearm with all her might. It didn't even pitch. "Like that."
The lavender-eyed man merely gazed upon her with mirth. "Did you now?"
"Mmhm! And teacher got so mad, and said that she would tell Ma about me fighting, but she's stupid because Ma didn't pick me up today, and I told Haruka-kun if he snitches, I'll beat 'em up!"
Ran lowly whistled. "Quite the little menace, ain'tcha?"
She pumped her fists. "Yeah!" Then, she paused, holding a finger to her chin in thought. "Wait...what's a menace?"
"Ah, something you inherited from your old man." He ruffled her hair, much to her displeasure. Though her innocent jab earlier regarding his age still hit a sore spot, he was starting to like the sound of it. She, on the other hand, wasn't convinced.
"I already told you; Ma was on her happy juice when she said that. She said not to believe anything she says when she's on happy juice. It makes her do silly things."
Ran chuckled. He knew that all too well. The little girl wouldn't be in this world if not for your inability to hold your liquor. But judging based on how you've raised her so far, clearly you made the right decision keeping him in the dark.
He'll admit, he wasn't the best in terms of commitment. Throughout his day to day, Ran just didn't have the energy. With being in Bonten, keeping an eye out for his younger brother, handling business, dealing with numbskulls and disposing of their bodies, there was never a time to even consider settling down. One-night stands and on and off flings were the easiest choice. At least, until he stumbled upon you.
You were the whole package and more. Classy, independent, witty, and a looker to top it all off. When Bonten started collaborating with the organization you worked in, he couldn't help but to be drawn to youâLike a moth to a flame. It started out as the occasional bantering, trying to one-up the other, catch them off guard. Ran was smooth with his words but could never quite beat your sharp tongue. Thus, things escalated to something more flirtatious. Harmless, but it didn't take long before the months of tension between the both of you began boiling over...and throwing alcohol into the mix, it was the first time Ran finally felt like he had the upper hand. Seeing how poorly you handled just a few glasses of wine, it endeared him. Seeing a piece of you that no one else had the privilege to witness. Your sloppy side, the clumsy, whiny, touchy side. After that long, passionate night beneath the sheets, the one time you and Ran allowed yourselves the space to be vulnerable with one another...you found yourself pregnant. And Ran found himself being nonethewiser.
He wonders, if he hadn't left the next morning and completely ghosted you...would you have kept him in the picture?
Suddenly, his phone dings. Reaching back to pull it from his back pocket, Ran half expected it to just be another update on the meeting or Rindou cursing at him to hurry his ass back inside. But, it wasn't that at all. And at the sound of your kitten heels rushing out of the building and halting at the top of the steps, Ran didn't even need to look up to know who was glowering down from them.
"Hey, Ma! Guess what, the purple man isn't such a meanie after all!"
Ran snorted, finally looking up from his phone to greet the woman who not only still had his heart, but evidently his first child. You, on the other hand, weren't so thrilled to see him.
"Rika. Wait inside. Ma's got some words for the purple man."
He smirked. "Wanna say 'em over a glass of wine?"
"You son of a-!"
"Bad word!" Your daughter covered her ears. You flushed, your composure nearly slipping just by being in his prescence. Ran, immediately seeing the opportunity, teasingly pouts at you whilst covering her tiny hands with his larger ones, shielding her.
"Honey, please, not in front of the child. Can't have her repeating those dirty words at school, can we?"
You fumed, speaking through clenched teeth. "Haitani, as soon as I get her in this building, away from you, I swear to God, I'm gonna wring your neck."
He hummed, amused. "Well. Guess she didn't get her violent side from me after all. Speaking of which, did you know at school today-"
"Hey! No snitching!"
â...What did you say?âÂ
You were hoping you heard the teacher wrong. Surely it was just your exhaustion taking the wheel. But, when her kind smile didnât falter, nor did her gushes for the supposed âadorable displayâ, you immediately grew suspicious.
While heading home from work, you went to pick up your children from daycare. And when you arrived, the teacher merely informed you that it was already taken care of by your very handsome and very devoted husband.Â
âI-I think youâre mistaken. My boyfriend and I arenât marriedâŠâ
The teacher, finally coming back down to earth, tilted her head in confusion. âEh? You arenât?âÂ
âDid heâŠsay we were?âÂ
âWell, no. I just assumed since it was easy to tell who he was here for. Hikaru and Kaoru look so much like their daddy.â
You choked on your spit. Hikaru and Kaoru look so much like their daddy. Hikaru and Kaoru look so much like their daddy.
You did everything in your power to keep from strangling the poor woman. Sure, she didnât do anything wrong per sayâŠbut she sure did make a grave error. And your struggle to restrain your intrusive thoughts mustâve shown on your face from the way she placed a concerned hand on your arm. âAre you alright, miss? You look like youâre about to faint.â
âM-Mhm, yep, great, just peachy.â You squeaked through clenched teeth, sweatdrop on your forehead. âCould you umâŠconfirm something for me?â
âUh.? Er, sure. Iâll try my best.â
With tense shoulders and a tight smile, you asked, âTheirâŠfatherâŠdid his mouth have two scars in the corners?â
The teacher blinked, confused. Shouldnât you already know that answer yourself?, she was probably thinking. And she would be right; you did know. But her simple, hesitant nod was the final nail in the coffin that was your delusionâHaruchiyo Sanzu had found you. And to make matters worse, he had the children.
Your smile faltered, twitching ever so slightly. Covering it with a forced chuckle, you cried, âOh, thatâs..wonderful! Heâs always been self conscious about them, and Iâm j-just.. beaming with joy that heâs embracing them more. Have a nice evening, Ms. Yuki.â
The teacher didnât get a chance to respond as you quickly turned on your heel and began speed walking home. Youâd apologize for your abrupt exit another dayâŠright now there were more important matters to worry about. For instanceâHow on earth did Sanzu find you? How did he know about the twins and where they were? Oh, GodâŠdid he know about Satoru?
Dialing him up a few times only for the calls to go straight to voicemail werenât reassuring in the slightest, having you rush across oncoming traffic just so you could avoid any further delays for your fraying nerves. You could see your apartment complex up ahead, heart thumping in your throat at the familiar, black SUV parked a couple blocks down. Had it not been for the heavily tinted windows and no license plates, you probably wouldâve overlooked it. He knew where you lived. Stomach in knots, muscles stiff, nerves shot. You didnât know whether to feel relieved or devastated. Your kids were safe at home, but at what cost? You stood in front of the building, rooted to the ground. Despite mentally preparing for this exact scenario for years, it all went down the drain the second you went to that daycare and discovered your children were missing.
It wasnât until your phone vibrated did you snap out of your thoughts, shakily pulling the device out of your back pocket to check the notification.
from : unknown 1:06 pm   â hi, mama.~ â
Your stomach twisted. Attached to the message were two photos.
The first photo was of your kids eating McDonald's in the kitchen, happily cheesing and waving at the camera. You couldn't hold your choked gasp, hand coming up to hold your quivering lower lipâThey were safe.
The second photo...was of Satoru. Tied to a chair, gagged, and beaten senseless. And standing behind him, holding him by his hair so that he could pose for the camera, grinning like a cheshire cat...
Another message pops up. Your grip tightened around your phone.
from : unknown 1:09 pm " daddy's home.~ "
Rhaenyra has been gone for days without so much as a word while Jace and Beala are getting eaten alive by the men surrounding this table. Daemon is doing Gods know what in Harrenhal while weâre on the brink of battle.
âThe Riverlands grow restless, my Prince. The Blackwoods and Brackens are at each otherâs throats. Thereâs been no word from Daemon so we must assume no one is there to rally them together.â Lord Massey states with a clipped tone.
âWe must send a dragon to amass them to our cause. Or to help the Blackwoods defeat the Brackens. Regardless something needs to be done and soon.â Lord Celtigar nods his head and looks around at his fellow vultures.
âY/N take Silverwing.â Jace turns to me. âGo to Raventree Hall. Speak with Bejicot Blackwood and do whatever it takes to get him and his men to join our other army. If you can get the Brackens to bend the knee: Great. If not: Burn them. We are done sitting aside in this war.â Jace says with a boisterous voice.
âI heartedly agree with this decision.â Lord Emmon nods his head along with the other Lords.
âThen I shall see you when I return victorious, brother.â I smile to Jace. âSister.â I smile and nod to Baela before exiting the war room.
Once in my chambers I hastily pack a couple of bags. I change into my riding armor and place my sword in its sheath down my back. I dart down the stairs to greet Silverwing before anyone changes their mind on sending us out. My dragon and I have been itching to take to the skies and begin bending knees.
âHello, my beautiful girl.â I coo as I approach her and offer her pats. âWeâve finally been given leave.â I say with a playful tone as she chuffs and turns to me.
I quickly mount her and she brings us to the lip of the cave. As she steps over the ledge she lets us free fall which always makes my heart drop. Her wings catch the breeze and we shoot forward as I wildly laugh while clinging to her.
During the flight to the Riverlands I keep my eyes peeled for any armys. I have yet to see anything concerning, but keep a vigilant watch nonetheless. We fly a couple miles away from Harrenhal, but we still faintly hear Caraxes high pitched song.
We thankfully hear no other dragons and have no vision on any armyâs as we begin our approach on Raventree Hall. Silverwing circles the castle and gives out a fearsome cry before landing on the outskirts of the city walls. I leave my bags attached to the saddle incase I donât receive the welcome Iâm expecting. Once I make it to solid ground guards start to approach, but keep their distance as they take in my dragon hovering behind of me.
âI come as an extension of the Crown. I must speak with your Lord at once.â I look to the guards expectantly.
âAnd which Crown might that be?â one guard is brave enough to question me.
âThe only rightful Crown. That sits atop my motherâs head. Queen Rhaenyra.â my tone clipped as I start to approach and then men back up.
âIâm sorry, Princess.â they all bow their heads deeply as they bend the knee to my mothers cause. âThese are strange times.â
âIndeed.â I hum as I look down at them.
âIâll go get Lord Benjicot.â one guard raises his head and rushes through the gate behind him.
I turn back to Silverwing and she seems to roll her eyes at the men behind of us. I climb back to retrieve my bags and offer her words of praise and thanks for a smooth flight. As I turn to dismount once more there is a handsome man looking up at me with a slack jaw. I look down at him with low lids and wicked smile.
âWho might you be?â I call down to him as I toss my bags next to him.
âLord Benjicot Blackwood, Ben if you wish.â he calls up to me as he falls to his knees. I smirk as I slide down the side of Silverwing and stand in front of him as he continues to look at my boots.
âRise, Ben.â I say hushed as his eyes travel up my body until they lock with mine.
âIs it too forward to say that I much like this position?â Ben offers me a wink and devilish smirk.
âIs that so?â I hum as I bring my hand to the side of his cheek. He grabs my hand with his own and brings it to his mouth to place a kiss on the back. He rises and towers above me never breaking our eye contact.
âWhat can I do for you, Princess?â he asks, smirk still plastered on his face.
âI wish to have an audience with you and your advisors in the council chambers.â I remove my hand from his and get to the more pressing matters. âI should also like live feed brought for my dragon. Sheâs hungry and I wouldnât want her to pick through your men.â I looks to him expectantly waiting to be invited inside.
âYes,â he clears his throat. âIâll have some of my guards bring some cattle. Will she harm them?â he whispers the last part to me.
âNot unless they deserve it.â I chuckle as I grab my bags.
âPerfect.â Ben claps his hands together. âThen letâs have a meeting.â he takes my bags from my hands and leads me into the gate.
He hands my bags to servants and tells them to have them brought to the guest chambers. He leads me straight to the council chambers and offers me the seat next to him. Slowly members begin to filter into the room and once everyone takes their seat Ben rises.
âGentlemen, this is Y/n Targaryen. Queen Rhaenyras first daughter. Rider of Silverwing.â he tells them, his words sounding like adoration.
âAs Iâm sure youâre all aware war is on the horizon, if not already here. After the battle of the burning mill itâs clear tensions have been high. I want to thank you for fighting in the name of my mother. I am here to ask you to pick up your swords for her again.â I look to all of them to read their expressions.
âWhat do you propose we do?â one of his advisors asks, raising an eyebrow.
âCall your banners and follow me and Silverwing to the Brackens. I shall ask them to bend the knee to the rightful Queen. If they refuse I shall burn them at your sides and we will continue on to meet the rest of our army to continue to battle and glory.â I say hoping they accept my more than generous offer.
âAnd what if the Brackens bend the knee? You expect us to fight alongside them?â another advisor speaks up, disgust heavy in his voice.
âI expect you to fight for your Queen.â my voice rises as I stand looking to him.
âWe will fight for you. Iâm just not sure if the Brackens share the same sentiment, Princess.â Ben adds, eyes shooting daggers to the advisor who spoke to me in such a manner.
âThen theyâll die.â I say flatly as I reclaim my seat.
âThen itâs settled.â Ben announces as no one else has any other grievances. âIâll be able to have my men ready in two days time.â he nods his head to me.
âExcellent. I have nothing further to discuss at this moment.â I say waving my hand.
Ben dismisses his advisors and servants flood in and offer me beverages and food. I accept a cup of wine and sigh as I lean back into my chair. This went smoother than I anticipated, but I still think there will be work to do to prepare the Blackwoods before I ask the Brackens to bend the knee.
âI must send a raven to Dragonstone.â my eyes glide to Ben who has been staring at me.
âYes, of course.â he rises from his chair quickly causing the legs to groan against the stone. âIâll fetch you some parchment and ink.â he rushes out the door and leaves me blinking after him.
I scribble out a note to Jace and tell him of whatâs happened and how I expect the meeting with the two hosts to go. I tell him Iâve secured the Blackwoods and intend to try my best with the Brackens but make no explicit promises. I seal it with red ink and hand it off directly to the maester.
âAllow me to show you to your chambers.â Ben says offering me his arm.
I look him over and decide itâs not terrible if I hang off of his arm like a simpering fool for a couple of days. Thereâs something alluring about him. I can feel the violence bubbling under the surface which excites me to no end. He begins to parade us down the halls with a ridiculous smile on his face as he looks down to every man we pass.
âHere we are, Princess.â he hums as we stop in front of a large set of double doors.
He opens the doors and escorts me in. I spot my bags on a chair near the freshly lit hearth. I peer into the bathing chambers and hum in appreciation at the small pool I have for a bath. Candles are lit throughout the chambers making them feel warm and inviting beside the dark stone and wood.
âIâll admit Iâm surprised you brought me to my own chambers and not yours.â I turn to Ben smiling as I see his cheeks redden.
âIs that disappointment I hear?â Ben cocks his head, matching my smile.
âDonât flatter yourself.â I playfully roll my eyes.
âChange and Iâll show you around Raventree Hall.â Benâs smile lingers on his face. âIf you want.â he backtracks slightly nervous.
âCome collect me in an hour.â I smile as his eyes alight with excitement as he slips out of my chambers.
Why couldnât Jace send me to a house without such a handsome flirt of a Lord. I sigh out as I fall back into my bed. I rise and begin to remove my armor. I place my sword on the bed unsure if Iâm ready to not have it on my person, armor or gown. I slip into a black form fitting gown and settle for a hidden dagger on my thigh. The sheath can only be seen if one is looking for it or if their hands found themselves traveling somewhere they shouldnât. I braid my silver hair out of my face and leave the rest flowing down my back. I go to the couch and watch out the window until Ben comes to get me.
âPrincess?â Benâs voice carries through the door followed by a couple knocks.
âCome.â I call as I begin to rise off of the couch. Ben stands in the doorway staring at me with wide eyes. âIs this not appropriate for a tour? I can change.â I look down smoothing my dress slightly embarrassed and confused.
âNo,â he breathes out. âNo, you look perfect Princess.â his eyes meet mine and I can feel my cheeks flush at his compliment.
âThank you.â I look up to his eyes and smile softly.
âA true Targaryen beauty.â he hums as he places a kiss on my hand lowering his head.
âYou honor me, Lord Benjicot.â I say flustered at his words and actions.
âBen,â he corrects me, smirking.
âBen.â his name falls off of my tongue breathlessly.
âCome, let me show you my home.â Ben offers me his arm, which I accept as he leads me out of my chambers.
âčâââïžââșââ âïž ââșâââïžââ âč âčâââïžââșââ âïž ââșâââïžââ âč âčâââïžââșââ
Ben and I shamelessly flirt over the next two days as we ready our host. We plan strategies with his advisors on the best way to go about speaking with the Brackens. Iâve flown Silverwing near the border and seen the host theyâre amassing for themselves. Iâll admit I hope to turn them to my motherâs cause but I can only do so much. This feud between these two house has lasted many generations and Iâm not sure that the presence of a dragon will make much of a difference.
Jace has sent back word confirming and allowing me leave to do what must be done to secure a host from the Riverlands. There has been no word on Rhaenyra much to my concern and frustration. Hopefully the next time I see her Iâll have an army raised in her name. I send another raven back stating I plan to meet the Bracken host on the morrow and will send him word of the outcome.
âAre you scared?â Ben asks me, looking over his cup of wine as we dine alone.
âI think Silverwing and I can handle this.â I shrug, biting my lip.
âI know you both can. Doesnât mean you canât be scared.â he offers me a soft smile.
âIs it bad to admit that I am?â I asked hushed looking to him.
âNo, it makes you smart. I havenât seen you fight or duel. But from looking at the armor and sword you wore the first time I laid eyes on you, I would say youâre no stranger to what may come.â he surmises looking to me intently.
âI do well with a blade, better with fire.â I smile deviously. âHow do you fare? Are you scared, Ben?â my smile widens as I suck in my bottom lip.
âWhy should I be scared? I have a Targaryen Princess and her dragon flying above me. I think I can manage with a blade from below.â his eyes filled with shameless admiration as he looks to me.
âDonât be so humble. Iâve heard your nickname and stories throughout your host.â I raise my eyebrow to him across the table.
âWhat nickname is that? Iâm afraid thereâs a few floating around.â he chuckles lowly.
âAll Iâve heard is the whispers of Bloody Ben leading them to victory. How you come out of battle covered in blood with a wicked smile painted through it.â I look to him as his smile widens.
âDoes that scare you?â he tilts his head studying me.
âNot in the slightest.â I gently shake my head.
âWe shall see if thatâs true on the morrow.â he hums, still looking over my face. âAllow me to escort you to your chambers.â he rises and walks over to help me rise from my chair.
âčâââïžââșââ âïž ââșâââïžââ âč âčâââïžââșââ âïž ââșâââïžââ âč âčâââïžââșââ
I rise early in the morning before the sun has started to rise. I begin fastening my hair into two long braids that flow down my back. I begin to stretch out some before covering myself in my armor. Once everything is secured I slide my blade down my back and check to make sure I have everything I should need. I quickly exit my chambers and as Iâm turning the corner I clash into a man.
âGood morning.â I look up at Benâs voice as his arms steady mine as I sway. âI was just coming to wake you.â he smiles still holding on to me.
âI always break fast with Silverwing before we do something strenuous. Would you like to join us?â I offer with a soft smile.
âIâd be honored, Princess.â he bows his head lowly as I playfully push him back.
âI thought we were done with the formalities, Lord Benjicot.â I chuckle as he regains his composure.
âOh no, you will always be my Princess.â he licks his lips as I feel my cheeks start to heat.
âMm, your Princess?â I raise my eyebrows trying to pretend my cheeks arenât the color of dragon fire.
âYes, mine.â he says lowly as he pinches one of my cheeks. âCome, letâs go get some cattle for Silverwing. I want to make sure sheâs well fed for today, along with you, my Princess.â he whispers my title into my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
I follow after him as he takes us to the dining hall. He tells a servant to have a couple plates made for us and brought out near Silverwing for us to eat. He leads us out of his castle and over to the rows of stables and barns. He offers men more than enough coin and soon we have five cattle trailing behind us as we make our way to Silverwing.
As we approach we see our breakfast laid on a blanket near my sleeping dragon who is now starting to wake at my approach. Ben lingers by our breakfast with the string of cows as I approach her. I rub her snout and walk down the length of her body to her tail, trailing my hand all the way. She begins to stir and offers small chuffs. As I walk back to her head she nudges her snout into me and huffs out.
âOh come on, itâs not that early.â I chuckle as I scratch under her jaw. âThat handsome man over there has brought you some gifts.â I hum as she rises her head and looks to Ben.
I nod my head encouragingly to Ben to bring over the cows. He walks over with a stiff spine but is sure to show no fear. Silverwing stares down at him as I walk to his side. She looks at both of us and comes to eye level. I look to Silverwing like a mother warning her child to be nice.
âHeâs not your treat, heâs mine. He brought these cattle for you to indulge yourself on.â Silverwing chuffs at us and turns to the cows waiting for us to back away.
âCome.â I say, pulling Ben away.
Once weâre a safe distance away Silverwing dowses the cattle in fire until theyâre burnt to a crisp. She lays back down with a thud and leisurely begins to eat her meal. Ben looks on at the scene as I leave his side to return to our breakfast. He claims a seat next to me, still looking to Silverwing.
âSo how does that work? She can understand you?â Ben asks taking a sip of juice.
âShe can understand me, yes. We have this sort of bond. Itâs like a mutual respect of each otherâs feelings and boundaries. Kind of as if our souls are molded together as one.â I look to my beautiful dragon as I speak with admiration.
âI canât even begin to imagine the strength it takes to do that. To command the skies with her. You both are just so other-worldly.â Ben looks to me with reverence.
Silverwing chirps a soft song at Benâs words and she continues to feast upon her cattle. I smile at her acceptance and happily eat the meal prepared for me. We eat in a comfortable silence as the men begin to rise for the upcoming day.
After we finish our breakfast Ben goes to speak with his fellow commanders and finalize the plan. I lounge with Silverwing watching the men run around camp. She grumbles when some walk a little to closer for her liking and I chuckle as theyâre quick to run back. Once everyone seems scarce I rise and see that they have begun to fall into lines ready to march.
âItâs almost time for us to fly. I know not what today holds for us, but I know we will be victorious.â I talk to Silverwing patting her as I start to mount.
âA moment, my Princess.â Ben calls from afar and I turn to see him running to me.
âYes?â I return to the ground and await for him to come to me.
âI seek your favor.â he pants, his chest rising and falling rapidly. âFor luck, on our endeavors.â his cheeks become red from more than just his short run.
âI-â I pat my armor knowing I have nothing on me to offer him. âI have nothing on me to-â Silverwing chuffs and snaps a cattle bone, looking to us expectantly.
âThank you, my beautiful Silverwing.â Ben smiles widely at my dragon as he bends down to claim the now bone knife from her claws.
âIt seems sheâs taken a liking to you.â I gasp as Silverwing nudges my back pushing me into Ben.
âAnd what of you?â he hums holding me.
âI suppose I have.â I try to look anywhere but in his eyes as my face heats.
âYou have what?â he asks with a smirk, tilting my chin with his fingers so I have to look at him.
âTaken a liking to you.â I reply breathlessly looking at him through my lashes.
âMay I have your favor?â Ben looks to my lips and then to my eyes in a silent question to which I nod my head vigorously.
His lips crash down into mine and his teeth are quick to bite down on my lower lip. I gasp out and his tongue slips into my mouth to dance with mine. One of his hands finds its way to the back of my neck molding me to him. He pulls back from my mouth as our breath mingles. I kiss him quickly one more time and a smile splits across his face. He kisses my forehead softly and steps back from me.
âOur host awaits your command, my Princess.â he looks at me with heavy lids.
âBegin marching, we should make it to Stone Hedge a little after midday. If you donât see me, weâre in the clouds, but Iâll always be above you. I will see you for negotiations.â I nod to him.
âUnderstood. I will see you in a couple of hours.â he returns my nod, his cheeks still slightly flushed.
âDo not die today.â I call out as he begins to walk away.
âYour wish is my command.â he turns to me and bows deeply before continuing back to his men.
âčâââïžââșââ âïž ââșâââïžââ âč âčâââïžââșââ âïž ââșâââïžââ âč âčâââïžââșââ
I fly ahead of the Blackwood host to see if there are any traps waiting for us. We have a clear path directly to Stone Hedge. I hear no other dragons in our vicinity and sigh in relief. As we approach the outskirts we fly in closer to see if there are any scorpions that I should take out before even thinking of landing in an open field. I mark no weapons of note that make me unsure of my landing.
I circle back to our host and coast on the breeze as they make their way closer. They stop on the other side of the Brackens wooden barricade and await for my arrival. I fly over the approaching Bracken host taking in their numbers. We have about couple hundred more swords than they do and a dragon so I have no worry. Silverwing gives out a high pitched screech and the Blackwood hosts recedes allowing us land in front of them.
As we approach I can see the Brackens pushing back to their gates and chuckle. I slide out of my saddle and make my way to solid ground. The Blackwood host looks at me as if Iâm a goddess stepping onto their battle field to bless them.
âHow was the flight? What did you gather from up there?â Ben peppers me with questions on approach.
âWe have more swords than they do. There were no weapons of note that I was worried about or we wouldnât have landed here. On approach they pulled back. Iâm going to have to lure the Lord out.â I list off what Iâve observed from the skies.
âNoted.â Ben nods his head. âAnd how was the flight?â his face softens as he smiles.
âAbsolutely delightful.â my smile matches his as I look back to Silverwing.
âIâm glad to hear.â he looks down at me tenderly.
âLetâs go see if thereâs a way to talk this through.â I sigh and begin leading us to the barricade.
As we begin walking to the middle I see small group of men approaching from the Bracken side. We wait at the edge expectancy and they stop a couple hundred feet away. I groan out in annoyance as I climb over the wooden fence. Ben is right behind of me as we cross the line.
âThank you for meeting us away from your beast.â one of them says foolishly.
âMy beast?â I bark out a laugh at his audacity. âSheâs had quite the large breakfast, but surely she could always eat more?â I tilt my head, squinting my eyes at him.
âWhat is it that youâre here for?â Lord Bracken steps out from behind his men.
âBend the knee to my mother, the rightful Queen of the realm. Join your host with hers and ride with her into battle and glory.â I hold my chin high as I study them as they take in my words.
âAlongside Blackwoods?â Lord Bracken scoffs looking to Ben.
âAlongside fellow Queensmen.â I correct through my teeth trying to cool my temper at his tone and disrespect. Iâm trying to avoid what I know is coming and soon I wonât have patience for words anymore.
âWhat do I get in return? Her brazen daughter who stands to inherit nothing? Does she truly think your cunt is worth my army?â Lord Bracken looks at me with a smile as his words slam into me.
âAs if you wouldâve ever deserved her.â Ben breathes out in a chuckle and he lunges at Lord Bracken and slams the cow bone knife into the side of his throat. âYou donât speak to her like that.â he grits out twisting the bone.
The world slows as the next seconds play out in front of me. He pulls the bone out as blood splatters across his face he quickly slams it into the leg of the man next to him. I quickly grab my blade from my back and slice open the man who began to run towards Ben. The last man grabs me harshly and I grab the dagger from my ribs and slam it up into his jaw. I pull the dagger out of the manâs jaw causing blood to spray across my face. Time resumes normally and Iâm quick to hear shouts from either side of the army.
âGet to Silverwing.â Ben shouts to me as he turns to face the army pulling out his long sword.
As I run back to the barricade men begin pouring over and running past me. They keep a clear path away from my dragon and Iâm able to get to her quickly. I clip into the saddle and she shoots us into the air. We fly low as I look on at the brazen violence. We fly near the back of their lines so theyâre not safe on any front.
âDracarys Silverwing.â I cry out and the entirely of the back of their host is doused in dragon flame.
As I look down I see burning men running for their life. I fly to undefended western side of the Bracken host and Silverwing is quick to bathe them in flame. After burning as many as I could without getting too close to Blackwood men we circle our host and land at the back. I quickly dismount from Silverwing preparing to go into the thick of the battle.
A horn blows and all fighting ceases. I climb back up Silverwing to look on at the bloody mess to see whatâs going on. I see my motherâs flag raised in the center of the field. I lay back into my saddle and smile that everything is done. I dismount once more and wait at Silverwings feet for Ben to come find us and tell us of his victory.
âMy Princess.â Benâs voice carries through the crowd as they part to make way for him.
âBloody Ben indeed.â I hum as I look over him in his disheveled state.
âYouâve got a bit on you too.â he smiles wiping at my face.
âHow did it go out there?â I ask pulling back to look him over, scanning for any injuries.
âVery good.â he nods and I can still feel the adrenaline pouring off of him. âYou and Silverwing did so well. Amazing to be honest.â he showers me with praise causing my cheeks to redden under the blood.
âThank you.â I reply bashfully.
âBlushing like I didnât watch you stab a man in the jaw.â his eyes worship me as he shakes his head.
âYou are such a fool for doing what you did.â my eyes narrow on him remembering the start of this.
âI was willing to listen to what he wanted until he brought you into it.â he says approaching me. âI told you that youâre mine.â he says only audible for me.
âBen-â
âYou as a person are worth more than any army. Or any kingdom. Or any realm.â he whispers to me. âI wouldâve fought alongside all of them if it meant I could stay by your side.â his eyes scan my face as it softens.
My hands reach up to bring his face down to mine. I place a soft kiss on his lips and pull back to look up at him. He captures my lips once more and pulls me tightly to him. Men begin to cheer and clap around us much to my embarrassment. I pull back giggling as he continues to pepper kisses around my face.
We separate and begin to assess the losses. We were fortunate not to take many causalities or injuries. Benâs most trusted men take the castle at Stone Hedge and raise my motherâs banners in the usurpers stead. Once the castle is deemed safe we walk through the gates.
Upon entering the castle we have a servant lead us the council chambers and see if there was any information left about the Greens movements. Benâs advisors join us for a debriefing and I quickly write out a note to send to Jace of our victory in the taking of Stone Hedge and raising an army.
Ben dismisses his advisors and then itâs just the two of us lingering. I take in his bloodied state and shake my head. I know Iâm not in a much better state either and begin to rise to seek a servant to make me a bath.
âWhere are you off to?â Ben is quick to rise at my side.
âTo find a bath. I suggest you do the same.â I raise an eyebrow to him as a smile plays at my lips.
âWe could bathe together.â Ben whispers against my lips.
âMm, come find me once youâre clean, Lord Benjicot.â I smirk against his lips and then slip out of the council chambers leaving him alone.
âčâââïžââșââ âïž ââșâââïžââ âč âčâââïžââșââ âïž ââșâââïžââ âč âčâââïžââșââ
A moan slips from my lips as I sink into the hot water. I scrub at my skin and splash water against my face watching the water turn pink and then maroon. I pick my nails clean and once Iâm satisfied I rise out of the water wrapping a towel around my body. I groan as I remember the only thing a servant could seem to find me is a sheer slip.
I throw my towel to the ground and huff out as the slip only reaches to the top of my thighs. I make my way over to the vanity and begin to take my braids out. I praise the gods that my hair was spared from the blood. I shake my hair out helping relieve some of the tension that remains. I begin to make my way to my bed as thereâs a knock at my door.
âYes?â I ask from the other side of the door not wanting to be seen in such an exposed state.
âIâm clean.â Ben chuckles from the other side of the door. I crack open the door and take in his freshly bathed state.
âOf course theyâd be able to find you proper clothing.â I roll my eyes and allow him in.
âYou are absolutely divine.â Benâs eyes finally land on mine after drinking in my exposed body.
âYou clean up nicely yourself.â I appreciate his clean face and body as he stalks over to me.
âMy Princess.â he breathes out as he kneels before me, his breath fanning across my thighs.
âHmm?â I hum, looking down at him as my fingers travel through his hair.
âMay I taste you?â he asks softly as his hands trail up my bare legs.
âPlease, Ben.â I reply breathlessly nodding my head.
As he rises from his knees, he takes my slip with him. I stand before him completely bare as his eyes dart across my body. I help him remove his clothes as we make our way to the bed. He pushes me on the bed when the back of my knees hit it. He kneels before me once more and pulls my core directly to his awaiting mouth.
âFuck,â I cry as his tongue lashes against my clit.
With every swirl of his tongue my hips are rising off the bed. One of his hands finds its way between my thighs and he teases two fingers at my entrance. His slowly pushes his two digits in as whimpers fall from my mouth. He begins to pump in and out of me slowly as my hips grind onto his face and hand.
âBen, please,â I whine as he begins a fast pace.
I lose myself to the pleasure as my moans travel throughout my chambers. My thighs quake at his relentless pace as his name pours from my lips. I explode around his fingers as his tongue continues to lick softly at my clit.
âBen,â I breathless sob as my hand pulls his hair harshly away from my sensitive bud.
âYou taste so good, I could eat you all night.â he places soft kisses on my thighs.
He snakes his way up my body and claims my mouth in a heated kiss. I feel his hardened length slide through my wetness causing me to whine. He chuckles against my lips as my hips continue to squirm.
âAre you ready, my Princess?â he whispers against my lips as he lines himself up at my entrance.
âYes, please,â I arch my hips up to his begging for friction.
A moan tears through me as he slides into me. He wastes no time and fully pushes himself into me. The stretch of him causes my eyes to screw shut as I focus on the feel of him. I begin to slowly rock my hips once Iâve adjusted and he claims my lips once more as he starts to move his hips.
âFuck, you feel so good.â he plants against my lips as his pace increases.
My legs wrap around his waist as I cling to him as he continues to pull pleasure from my body. His hips snap into mine at the new angle, stealing my breath. Our breathes become one as our hips meet in a rhythm that has us both panting. Pleasure washes over me, catching me off guard as my nails dig into Benâs shoulder.
âFuck, princess.â he grits through his teeth as he keeps pounding into me.
Tears begin to prick at the edges of my eyes from the pleasure heâs repeatedly wringing from my body. One of his hands slide between us and attach to my sensitive bud. I cry out and clench around him and he groans into my neck. I feel him begin to fill me as his hips falter and I explode around him once more, his name falling from my lips as if itâs the only word I know.
âYou did so good for me, my Princess.â he whispers as he slowly pulls out.
He pulls me to his side and covers us with the blankets. I curl into his side and hum at his words of adoration and praise. My eyes begin to feel too heavy as I allow sleep to consume me.
NOT PROOFREAD EEK
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
y/n and chris had been in a screaming match all day.
from sunrise to the middle of the night, it's taken both nick and matt holding the two back so they don't entangle and kill each other.
"whatever," nick breaths, "i'm so fucking done with you guys. i know you don't get along but this is ridiculous."
"yeah" matt agreed, letting out a sigh. "i for one am tired as shit, try not to murder the other while we're asleep," the other two brothers pace back into their respective rooms, slamming the door one after another.
"great!" y/n starts, "who am i supposed to sleep with now, guaranteed they both just locked their doors." she whispered to herself.
"god, who cares? you could sleep on the street for all i fucking care." chris yells, watching y/n stand outside of nick's door, not daring to make an advance inside.
the girl shot daggers at him, "whatever chris, tell that to your fucking brothers, they're the ones who let me live here." y/n huffs out as she shoves chris full force out of the way, preparing for a sleep on the boy's couch. but before she can even reach the end of the hallway, chris grabs y/n by the throat and slams her against the wall.
y/n hits the wall, exuding air on impact, hands gripping onto chris', which has her easily pinned on to the wall.
"did you seriously just put your hands on me?" he said lowly, closing the distance between him and
y/n. the girls heart was racing at a mile a minute, unsure of what her actions would cause next. she was so confident yelling at chris frequently from across the room, but suddenly powerless in his grasp, she was, briefly, at a loss for words.
"yeah," y/n managed to grunt out. she had never been this close to chris before, let alone feel his body inches away from her own skin. his eyes were dark and low, jaw tight and sharp, his features barely illuminated in the light. as much as she hated him, she found him punishingly attractive.
"and what are you going to do about it?" she dared to whisper to him, trying to keep as much confidence in her tone as she could, not letting him see how much she withered under his touch.
from a few heavy breaths, y/n's throat still in his hand, he shoved her into his room and shut the door behind him. he flipped the two around so she was again back against the wall.
"what am i going to do about it?" he taunted, less than an inch between their bodies, breaths mingling and eyes locked in contact.
"you have no idea what i could do to your right now," chris spoke lowly, uninterested in letting his brother's hear the way he is speaking to the girl he supposedly wants to kill.
"if only you just kept that pretty little mouth shut, maybe i could've showed you sooner," his words faded out, his hand around her neck tightened slightly, as he brushed his lips against hers, earning a barely audible moan from the girl under his grip.
"chris" y/n managed to breath out, suddenly feeling a sense of neediness and wanting from him. is it bad she could be so turned on from how rough chris was being with her? she had never seen this side of him before, the side of him that she didn't think existed to her. before this he was ready to take her head off and so was she. but now she could feel the heat rising in her legs, and shocking her stomach, anticipating what was to come next.
"what? don't act like you don't want it, you think i can't tell that you do? look at you." chris taunted, gently using his teeth to tug on her bottom lip. y/n felt like her heart was going to beat out of her chest.
unknowing what came over her, y/n remarked back "oh, i'd want this. just not with you," she could see the anger growing in his face as she continued, "anyone could do whatever you'd do better." she knew what the words she was saying would lead her. she almost hoped chris got the message.
"is that so? i'll show you you're wrong." chris swiftly tossed y/n to the bed, pinning her down, yet again cementing their faces inches away from each other.
"you'll be begging me to do this more often when we're done," beginning to leave sloppy kisses against y/n's neck. "i'd destroy you,"
"so destroy me," y/n dared.
chris smiled against her skin, wet kisses becoming dark hickies all over her neck and jaw. his lips slowly moved down to her covered chest, frustrated with the fabric, he tugged on her shirt, signaling to take it off.
y/n sat up in the bed ripping her shirt over her head, his eyes meeting with her bare chest. "no bra, huh?" he said before claiming her right nipple in his mouth, kissing, sucking, and biting on it, and doing it harder with each moan he earned from her.
"i never wear one" she admitted, eyes screwed shut in the unexpected pleasure that chris sturniolo was bringing to her.
"i hope that's not the only thing you never wear," he said against her skin, kisses continuing down her body until he reached her inner thighs, with only a thin layer of fabric separating her core and his lips.
y/n gasped as he yanked her to the edge of the bed, making her wet shorts visible to him even in the dim light. he smirked looking up at her,
"fucking soaked," he said what she already knew, throwing her head back and screwing her eyes shut in anticipation, "chris, please." she begged, thinking how pathetic it was that the few words she was able to get out gave chris everything he wanted to hear in that moment, but she didn't care.Â
"since you're begging for me," he taunted, taking off y/n's barely there sleeping shorts, taking in how perfect her core was dripping under the light, practically calling his name. never would he had anticipating being in this moment, but god he knew he was lying if he said he didn't think about it.
he teased her by trailing small kisses and nibbles against her inner thigh, making her wetter by the second. before y/n knew, he was licking and sucking down her slit, arms pushing her legs further into her chest to get even deeper.
gripping the sheets with white knuckles, y/n found it impossible not to scream his name as he stuck his tongue inside her, moaning against her pussy as the vibrations drove her closer to her high.
"chris i'm gonna cum," she said panting, edging him to keep going, not wanting the pleasure to stop as she found her hands tangled in his hair. but before y/n managed to reach her high, he pulled his face away from between her legs. mouth dripping with all her juices, he brought his lips to hers, kissing her for the first time.
the two kissed each other hungrily, each fighting for dominance over the other, but chris ultimately won as he stuck to fingers inside of her, causing y/n to gasp, prompting chris to shove his tongue into her mouth.
"how am i supposed to hate you when i know your pussy is this good?" chris asked between sloppy wet kisses, his fingers continuing to pump in and out of her, wetness leaking onto his bedsheets.
y/n could feel the knots tying in her stomach, signaling she was close, âc-chris iâm so fucking close,â she said absolutely breathless, weakly gripping his moving wrist.
his two fingers slowed their pace, and she whined at the loss of contact. y/n couldnât help but squeeze her thighs together, in order to do something to stop the aching between her legs.
ânot so fast,â chris said, peeling off his hoodie and sweats, leaving him in just black calvin klein underwear. âspread,â he demanded.
y/n obliged without hesitation, aching and ready for him to be inside her. chris used his thumb to rub her clit in circles, causing her to arch her back and moan in pleasure, chris could feel his dick aching to fuck her, but he wasnât going to let her have it easily.
âc-chris please,â she begged, âplease what, baby?-
baby?
-tell me,â he said, knowing exactly what she wanted from him, âplease f-fuck me- shit,â
as soon as those words left her mouth, chris removed his underwear, his length springing up, leaking with pre-cum and burning with desire.
he ran the tip on y/nâs slit, groans exiting from both of their mouths. without warning, he slammed his entire length into her, causing her to gasp at the feeling.
tears ran down y/nâs cheek as she moaned out chrisâ name and profanities at the pace that he was pounding into her,
âyou look so pretty when i fuck you, baby,â he growled in her ear, âlook at you, doing so good at taking all of me,â he said before sensually connecting their lips.
y/n had no words to say, only muffled sounds in between kisses coming out of her mouth from being completely fucked out by chris, and it didnât take long for her to feel her orgasm coming back.
âoh, chris, iâm gonna cu-,â
âwait, you cum when i say, okay?â he said lowly, before quickening his pace, feeling his own climax coming too.
âi canât take it, please let me cum,â y/n pleaded, feeling completely buzzed from all the sensation going in her body.
âcum baby, iâm right there too,â he breathed out, feeling her walls clench around him causing chris to explode inside her, filling her up at the same time she reached her own high.
chris pumped a few more times in and out of her, both groaning as he pulled his dick out of her, then falling on the bed next to the sexed out girl next to him.
the two looked at each other for a moment, and chris softly kissed her, finding his way to be on top of her again. he pulled their lips apart and ran a hand through her hair,
âwhy do we do this? iâm tired of hating you, why do you act like that with me?â y/n said, staring at chrisâ piercing blue eyes above her. he sighed, âi really donât know,â he started, âi guess the way i feel about you just made me angry for some reason. it always made me mad how close you are with nick and matt, and i guess i kept it up too long,â he admitted, playing with the ends of her soft hair.
âyou shouldâve just told me,â y/n retorted, placing a gentle hand on the side of chrisâ face, and he nuzzled into it. âi know, and iâm sorry. can we be done with that, please?â he asked her, cautiously.
âof course we can,â y/n smiled. chris smiled back at her, connecting their lips once more.
âokay,â he began grabbing her hand, âletâs go get cleaned up. we can have another fight in the shower,â smiling deviously at her after making the statement.
y/n rolled her eyes at the boy, and quickly followed him into the bathroom, locking the door behind them.
stupid in love
husband!zhongli x gn!reader â fluff
synopsis: you're a talkative drunk and zhongli is in love.
content warning: reader is drunk and mentioned to have hair (lmk if i missed anything !)
notes: NOT PROOFREAD <3 ; zhongli is a wonderful lover but let's not forget that he is also canonically a menace 𫶠; i'm writing and posting as much as i can rn bc i'll be inactive this week because of exams đ
zhongli can't recall a time when he felt this helpless.
as the geo archon, he possesses the strength of a thousand meteors raining from the sky and has emerged victorious from numerous battles. his voice has commanded countless armies and his hands formed the towering mountains liyue is well-known for today. he is a respectable leader who can devise efficient strategies to overcome any obstacle he may face.
however, at this moment, he is not rex lapis, the god of contracts and liyue's archon. he is the simple zhongli, the funeral consultant of the wangsheng funeral parlor and, above everything, your husband.
tonight, his duty is to get you home. unfortunately for him, you don't seem to want to comply.
you notified him this morning that you and your co-workers would be going out for drinks that night to celebrate a successful business deal, with the promise that you would be monitoring how much you'll drink. while he had his doubts, he trusted that you would have a sense of rationality regardless of if you were sober or not and didn't question you further.
in hindsight, he supposes he should have enforced his doubts when he bumped into a co-worker of yours as he clocked out of work, who sounded tipsy, yet sober enough to inform him that you were currently drunk off your mind and needed help getting home.
that is exactly how he found himself trying to calm down a drunk you on the streets of liyue.
you threw yourself onto him the moment he arrived, not even bothering to bid goodnight to your acquaintances who were putting a group effort into keeping you balanced. after zhongli thanked them for finding him and wished them farewell in your stead, they took their leave. as they turn to head to their respective homes, they could hear you loudly thanking your lover for coming get you.
while the area was significantly less populated at night compared to during the day, the unusual sight of the normally collected funeral consultant struggling to bring his drunkenly rambling spouse home caught the attention of whoever was in the vicinity, causing an embarrassed blush to spread to his face which he ultimately chose to ignore.
his experience as a god and warrior never could have prepared him for this situation, he surmises.
meanwhile, you catch the look of powerlessness on his face and stifle a laugh.
âheh, you look so stupid right now~!â
zhongli gapes at you as you burst into a fit of giggles.
âmy husband~ so silly~ so dumb~â your hands reach out and cup his face before he has the chance to pull back.
he merely stares at you as you sing what he wants to believe are praises in your drunken tongue. at this distanceâor rather, the lack thereofâhe can see your details more clearly; your hair is disheveled and eyes droopy. your gaze is unfocused yet fixated on the way his skin squishes under your thumb.
but he thinks you're beautiful nonetheless. the glow of the street lanterns frame your figure and he thinks you look akin to the radiant sun. moonlight shines down upon you and its gleam creates the illusion of you emitting a halo. he takes these as signs from the universe, reminding him to cherish you with his entire being, for they have sent him their best. he is certain that whatever celestia can offer does not hold a candle to you.
this god of stone crumbles to dust from your touch aloneâŠ
while you busy yourself with poking and pinching his cheeks.
he regains awareness of the situation and breaths a resigned sigh. you watch his face soften and shift to an expression that almost looks pleading, and you gasp loudly.
âooh! so handsome!!!â you squeal, attracting even more onlookers. âi want to kiss you on the mouffââ
zhongli beats you to it, placing a hand behind your head and gently leaning in for a kiss as deep as his adoration for you. you think your knees would have buckled if it weren't for the arm he had wrapped around your waist. you think you hear some of the lady passersby coo at your display of romance, but the echo of your heartbeat in your ears drowns them out.
his lips move slowly against yours, savoring the flavor of the bitter remnants of alcohol mixed with the sweetness of your lips. he doesn't think he's ever tasted a flavor as divine as this.
you are dazed when he pulls away, as though bewitched. he notices and chuckles, eyes full of mirth and tenderness as they peer into yours.
he speaks up, almost breathless. âyou look veryâŠâ
no, no, no! if he starts charming and complimenting you after all that, you might think youâll consider marrying him for a second timeâ
â...stupid right now, my love.â
you blink once. twice.
then you burst.
âyouâŠ!â
you thrash in his hold and bury your face in his chest, feeling a bashful warmth rise to your face for the first time tonight.
âyou can't pull that on me! so meanâŠâ you mumble into the lapel of his coat.
he chuckles again, more heartily this time. ugh, darn that handsome laughâŠ
âi apologize, my love.â you sense a teasing lilt, but you can tell he's sincerely coaxing you. a hand remains on the back of your head as you lean against him, fingers softly running through the strands of your hair.
zhongli remains that way, patiently waiting for your emotions to settle. when he hears you meekly mutter his name, he turns to you in his hold.
âyes, dearest?â
â...let's go home, please?â
he mentally sighs in relief. externally, he calmly adheres to your request with a nod. âthen we shall head home at once.â
he pulls away to position you so that you are held onto his arm as he leads you home, acting as your support while you keep yourself upright.
the walk home is neither dull nor quiet as you relentlessly babble about any and every topic that you can think of. you sway and stumble over the rocky pavement, but your incredibly attentive husband would never let you fall. frankly, he'd be more than happy to carry you if you asked.
a thought briefly flashes in his mind concerning how he's going to peacefully get you washed up and tucked in bed, but one look at you chatting away into the night and he supposes that he can afford to save those worries for after arriving home. until then, he entertains your mindless chatters with hums of acknowledgement and short quips as you walk arm in arm.
The classroom feels awfully small.
Gojo Satoru stands far away from you, leaning against the opposing wall stiffly with hands in his pockets. His blindfold is down, a rare frown twisting his lips downwards. His hair is a mess, a clear indication of the utter frustration heâs in. Despite the distance, the tension between the two of you is palpable, suffocating.
Heâs absolutely livid.
Deservedly so. You should have listened to him and stayed out of his fight but you didnât. Now you have to simply stand there like a goddamn Special Grade Sorcerer and take whatever heâs about to throw at you.
Who knew a fight with a low level, shape-shifting curse would cause all of this.
You swallow the knot in your throat, preparing for a half-hearted apology. âIâm soââ
âYouââ He straightens himself, finger pointed out in accusation, ââhad one job. I asked you to stay out of my wayâ no, I ordered you to stay out of my way. And what the hell do you do? The absolute fucking opposite. Do you ever think before you act?â
Gojoâs eyes narrow deeper, the sharpness of the glare hitting you right in the chest and making you flinch. Ouch. âWhat makes you think you can make the rules? Have you forgotten that I outrank you? Iââ
âDo not pull rank with me.â You snap. So much for just standing there and taking it. âYou know damn well I am just as strong as you are.â
âSpecial Grace Sorcerer doesnât mean that youâre the strongest.â
âOh, you mean like Suguru?â Low blow, but the ripple of emotion against Gojoâs face is satisfying. Itâs the same slack look he had twenty minutes earlier, when the curse morphed into the figure of his best friend.
âDonât say his name. You donât get to say his name.â
You canât help the bitter laugh that bursts out of your lips. âYou werenât the only one friends with him, Satoru. And you froze. So, yeah, Iâm fucking sorry for fighting your battle for you.â
âYou were reckless and out of line.â His voice stays level, refusal of letting his anger get the best of him. The throbbing vein in his forehead says otherwise. âI have to pull rank if you choose to act like one of my students.â
Rage makes the vessels of your face pop. You try opening your mouth but nothing comes out, your face is too hot, too hurt.
Satoru keeps going. âI fight alone. This was my battle, and you are too stubborn to understand that. So why donât you focus on your own missions so I can do mine?â
âFine.â You shake your head before turning to leave. âFight alone, stand alone, be fucking alone. My fault for thinking that you might not like to be by yourself all the time.â
You walk out the room, the thump of your own heart loud in your ears, leaving Satoru alone with his own shadow.
Part 3
Word count: 4.k
âThat was good but youâre leaving yourself open.â A gloved hand takes hold of your wrist. He lifts both arms, protecting your face. Your eyes dart up catching a brief moment of eye contact before he quickly looks away. Green. His eyes were green, you hadnât noticed till now. König was sweet but he made sure to keep his distance from peopleâthe fact that you were this close to him at all was a shock. Sgt. Ghost didnât take kindly to your recent mistake on the last mission. He doubled your workload and put you on probation, because most of the Barracks were close friends of yours, he assigned you the quietest person on the team. Now you and König spend three hours a day training after hours. While your peers train together, you're mopping floors and cleaning toilets. Ghost doesnât let you train during work hours in case your colleagues distract you. This was a punishment and he made that clear. âIâm sorry you have to do this with me everyday. This is my punishment, you shouldnât have to suffer on my behalf.â He shakes his head at your apology.
âI donât mindâŠI know how Ghost gets.â He places both hands on your hips, rotating your body. The truth is he really didnât mind, most days he looked forward to seeing you. âKeep your core strong.â He instructs. His fingers travel up the curves of your body as he repositions you. His large hands warm up your waist as ungodly thoughts intrude your mind. The mask made it impossible for you to read his emotions, any expression came from his eyes (which he often hides). The only change you could see was the way his breath hitched as his finger accidentally grazes your breast. He was always so respectful when touching you, the last thing he wanted to do was make you uncomfortable. Once your body is angled correctly he lets go, taking a few steps back. It almost seemed like he was avoiding the closeness. âNow attack me and defend.â He orders. You lunge forward âjabbing left, right,left,right. He blocks every punch effortlessly, guarding his face. He dodges, dipping low and charging at you. His arms wrap around your thighs hoisting you up. Your fingers interlock beating down on his back, trying to break his iron grip. He stumbles, arms loosening just enough to break free. Your feet hit the ground, König grunts as your fist connects clean with his jaw. âUhn that one actually hurtâŠgood job.â He waves a hand of surrender while rubbing his cheek through the mask. You run over to help. âAre you alright Iâm so sorry-â his hand shoots out, snatching your arm, spinning you. His solid arm tightens around your neck trapping you in a chokehold. His breathing is shallow, body tensing as your ass presses against him. You reach up and caress his forearm. He hadnât realized just how small you were compared to him till now, his body engulfed the entirety of your frame. He notes how perfectly you fit in his arms and how easy itâd be to break you. Your head rests just below his pecs, the smell of your hair product wafts up his mask, he inhales the sweet scent. His bicep flexes, tightening his grip, your eyes flutter and a quiet moan falls from your lips. You loved that light headed airy feeling of being choked.
âN-never let your guard down.â He letâs go, gently pushing you away, putting a giant gap between the two of you. âEven if you think someone is done, be prepared to attackâŠâ he trails off getting distracted by how sexy you look after an intense workout. How fast your breathing is, how your hair is messy with sweat, how your lips part as you catch your breath. He wanted to be the one to work you out.
âOh whatever you cheated .â You laugh squatting down as you catch your breath. König crouches, grabbing his flask from the ground. His large, veiny hands twist the top off in one swipe. Unconsciously, he lifts the bottom of his mask to drink, showing you a glimpse of the lower half of his face. His jaw tenses, a trickle of water spills down his chin as he swallows. His adams apple bobs with each gulp. You gawk at the scene in front of you, thinking it has to be a daydream.
âWater?â He holds the flask to you.
âS-sure.â You ease to a sitting position on your knees reaching for the bottle. You stare at the rim that just grazed his lips. Does this count as an indirect kiss? You think. He watches you place your lips in the exact spot heâd drank from, flushed with excitement. He wonders if your lips were as soft as he imagined theyâd be. How theyâd feel melding with hisâŠhow theyâd feel wrapped around his dick. He doesnât dwell on it too long, knowing that would never happen and that you didnât see him that way.
âHave you eaten?â He asks, looking at you with big green eyes.
âSergeant told the cafeteria to only feed me peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch, so I havenât eaten anything of value.â Your stomach grumbles on que.
âYou must have really gotten on his bad side huh?â He offers you a hand,helping you to your feet.
âUnfortunately.â You dust off your pants and begin collecting your belongings.
âSince we wrapped up a bit early, how about I take you somewhere you can get real food.â He offers, packing his duffle bag.
âYou know how tight ghost keeps the kitchen locked upâŠâ you say with an annoyed tone.
âWho said anything about the kitchen?â His voice sounds mischievous.
âYou donât mean-?â You shake your head, stuffing your hat and jacket in the bag.
âCome on, heâll never know Iâve worked with him long enough to know his blind spots.â He tilts his head expressively.
âFine but if we get caught, you ordered me to go.â You hike your bag onto your shoulder, walking past him. He smiles behind you.
~
âPuedo pedir dos margaritas?(may I have two margaritas) SĂâŠun bistec nacho y un burrito de pollo(one steak nacho and one chicken burrito)Eso es todo, gracias(that's all thank you).â He says expertly, the waiter nods thanking you before going to pin the order up.
âWow Iâve been deployed here longer than you and my Spanish is still choppy.â You toy with some lime slices on the table to keep yourself busy. König watches you closely, an amused look in his eye.
âI can speak a few languages but Iâm not good at them all.â He looks you up and down, the lights from the club area illuminates your skin. Your hair is pulled in a now messy bun. Cute strands stick out from your training session. He is especially drawn to your lips, the way you lick and nibble your bottom lip when youâre nervous. His eyes dart away when you feel his gaze lingering and look up.
âWhat other languages do you speak?â You stare out into the dance floor, watching the locals swing and jump to the music. They looked carefree and happy, itâd been so long since youâve felt good or even had a good time. Ghost saw a lot of potential in you so he stayed on your ass 24/7. Tough love is what he liked to call it.
âGerman is my first language.â He reveals.
âGerman? Thatâs so cool , say something in German.â He chuckles at your excitement.
âIch möchte dich ĂŒber diesen Tisch beugen und dich dazu bringen, mich ganz zu nehmen (I want to bend you over this table and make you take all of me)â he leans forward, green eyes boring into you as he says this,making sure you can hear him over the music. You had no idea what he just said but it made your thighs clench under the table.
âW-what does that mean?â
âIâll tell you one day.â He shrugs. You toss a lime, it smacks his vest with a small thud.
âI thought friends donât keep things from eachother.â You tease. The server brings out two large glasses with salted rims, there was no way you could finish this entire thing. He places the margaritas on either side of the table along with straws. König tears open his straw taking a long pull from his drink.
âWhoa itâs strong.â The fruity syrup barely covered the 3 shots of liquor . You indulge, sucking a mouth full of the frozen drink. It tastes strongly of strawberry slushie and tequila, the salted rim balances all the flavors with a sour finish. The alcohol must have been hitting him pretty fast because all he could imagine is him being that straw. How good the inside of your mouth must taste and feel.
âYouâre rightâŠI see why everyone is having such a good time.â You joke, taking another sip. A hearty laugh rumbles in his chest, he loved the way you always spoke your mind. Itâs one of the qualities that always got you in trouble with ghost. Nothing made him laugh more than watching you stress ghost out with your witty personality.
âI guess weâd better join the party.â He raises his glass for a toast before chugging half.
The server brings out hot plates of food, everything looked and smelled amazing. Your stomach growls at the sight of real food, the liquor (coupled with only eating sandwiches for a week) takes effect making you absolutely demolish your burrito. König shyly slips a few chips under his mask, he never ate around people since it usually required the mask to come off.
âThis is soooo good.â You say having another bite.
âI love this place. I come here often.â He slides in another chip.
âI thought we werenât allowed to leave base unauthorized or maybe thatâs just me.â Ghost had a tendency of giving you extra rules for your troublesome rap sheet.
âWe arenât but if you donât get caught, did it ever happen?â He laughs, taking the final sip of his drink.
âAnd they call me the troublemaker.â You say glancing at the dance floor again.
âDo you want to?â He asks.
âWant to what? Dance?âŠno I donât uh I donât dance.â You dismiss quickly.
â Iâve seen you knock grown men out y/n, dancing canât be much harder than that.â
âYou know youâre much more social than usual.â You observe.
âOnly when Iâm with you.â He grabs your hand leading you to the crowd.
The music thumps with bass, shaking the ground beneath your feet. A sexy song plays through the huge speakers near the DJ station. People couple up, swaying their bodies to the beat. König slips an arm around your lower back pulling you close. You struggle to find the tempo, moving left to right awkwardly. He takes your hand, spinning you around. His eyes trace the line of your body before pulling you back into his chest. You giggle at how ridiculous you look compared to his smooth rhythm. Your foot slams down on his toe as you try to find the beat âIâm so sorry! Iâm so bad at this maybe I should sit-â
âLetâs try this instead.â His knee forces your legs apart, giving him control of your movements. The feeling of his thigh pressed firmly against your heat makes your head spin.
âFollow my lead.â He commands.
His waist sways back and fourth, rocking your bodies in unison. You copy his actions, grinding your hips together, the grip on your waist tightens. The fabric of your pants rub creating friction between your legs, his cock reacts to the closeness, beating as if it was dancing along with them. finding the rhythm, your body starts to move on its own.
âScheisse (Shit)â he groans as you turn around and twirl your ass on him. His head falls back as you start to swirl your hips down and back up slowly. His big hand slides over your stomach holding you as close as possible, his rock hard member strains through his thick camo pants. Your eyes close as you grind into him, his finger grazes the exposed skin peeking from under your shirt. He trails that same finger up your torso, between your breast and up your neck. His hand rests at the base of your throat keeping hold of you as your bodies whirl around the dance floor. He spins you back around to face him, for once he demands eye contact and youâre the one shying away. You stare at the floor, giant hands cup your face pulling you to meet his feverish gaze.
âDonât look away from me.â Königâs voice sounds different, More rugged. His shoulders hunch as he leans down to your height as he speaks. âBitte komm mit mir nach Hauseâ he whispers in your ear.
âWhatâs that?â
âPlease come home with me.â He breathes.
~
âHow the hell did you convince Ghost to let you room by yourself ?â You ask, stepping past the threshold.
â My social skills and big personality helped with that.â He jokes sarcastically. König wasnât required to room with anyone thanks to his close connection to the sergeant, leaving the two of you completely alone in his quarters.
âWell I guess if you donât talk much there isnât much you could say to get in trouble.â You ponder.
âYeah you should try it.â He chuckles at your shocked expression.
âTry what exactly?â You ask appalled , holding your chest dramatically.
âNot talking. That mouth of yours is dangerous.â
âGive me one example where I said something worth getting punished for.â Your arms cross.
âIf I recall correctly you said and I quote âwhy would I listen to a dude named Simon?â â he says in a high pitch voice mimicking yours.
âFirst of all he wasnât supposed to hear that, wrong place at the wrong time on his part and secondly Simon is a funny name, the jokes practically write themselves.â He pauses for a second before doubling over with laughter.
His keys clatter on the kitchen counter as he wipes his tears of laughter away. You set your bags near the couch and sway on your heels nervously, unsure whether to sit or stand. Strong hands settle on your shoulders working away the tension youâve been holding for god knows how long. Your head rolls back into his touch, he kneads your muscles like dough relieving any and all stress. âThat feels so good, König.â You groan, closing your eyes.
âCome with me.â He grasps your hand leading you down a hall , stopping at a closed door. He twists the knob revealing a very plain bedroom, a queen sized bed with black sheets, a desk, and stacks of paperwork are all that decorate the space. There are two extra doors, one leading to the closet and the other to the bathroom. You laugh at his clumsiness. Heâs clearly tipsy as he staggers to the door.
He slips his gloves off and opens the cabinet below the sink, rummaging around and pulling things out onto the bathroom floor. Finally, he emerges with a pink topped bottle. âBaby oilâ the label reads.
âStrip.â He says, unbuckling his bulletproof vest and laying it on the desk chair.
âS-strip?â
âYes, so I can massage you. That is what you want isnât it?â He removes his thick camouflage jacket revealing the snug black material of his undershirt.
His muscles bulge veiny and tight, stretching the fabric. It was true, you did want his hands all over you. Ever since you two started training together, you found yourself fantasizing about being split by that monster of a man. Your hands fumble with the buckle of your pants as you kick your boots off. He advances, towering a wapping 6'6â. You shift with anticipation, looking up at him with gleaming eyes. The tips of his fingers hook under the hem of your shirt, swiping it over your head. Your scrunchie is taken along with it, freeing your hair (for my fellow natural haired girlies letâs just say you have braids or a wig). If youâd known youâd be stripping for someone tonight, you would have picked sexier underwear. Heâs silent as he takes in how perfect you look in your plain gray and white bra/pantie combo.
âLay on the bed.â He instructs unscrewing the baby oil top.
You listen, climbing up into the comfy cotton sheets, using your arms as pillows. Heâs flustered at how obedient you are, since that wasnât a side of you heâd seen before. The military couldnât break youâŠbut he would. He stands at the side of the bed admiring every dip and curve of your figure. Flipping the bottle upside down, Slick cool oil slides down your back. His thumbs rub circles along your spine, applying just the right amount of pressure to make you gasp. His long fingers slip under your bra strap, he huffs in frustration.
âIn the way-â he unclasps it skillfully. Your face is burning with embarrassment, there was no way you were laying in Königs bed half naked. A shiver runs down your leg as he slides down the elastic waist of your panties. He begins working and kneading your lower back, squeezing the plush skin of your ass. The crotch of your panties were soaked, leaving a huge wet spot on the gray fabric. He inhales, your arousal was palatable, his dick pulsates at the scent of your glistening womanhood. Your panties glide down over your ankles as he slides them off, tossing them into the corner.
âFlip over.â He grunts, tossing you around.
Your breast fall from the unclamped bra, hard nipples on full display. König doesnât hesitate yanking and pulling you to the edge of the bed.
âOn your knees.â His voice is breathy and low.
your eyes stay on him as you shift onto your knees, hands holding your chest shyly. Gently he pulls them away, slipping the straps down and off your arms. Because of his height, youâre at perfect eye level with his throbbing erection. His breath hitches as your elegant fingers undo the zipper of his pants, his earthy green eyes flutter. His big hand cradles your cheek as he watches you work to release him from the shackles of those annoying pants. His cock burst free, slapping his lower stomach. Although you couldnât see his face, the state of his arousal was evident. Veins root from base to tip, beating rhythmically along the upward curve of his sex. His tip is blushed and oozing with pre-cum, his breathing accelerates with need. You run your tongue up the length of his rock hard shaft, he grunts head lolling back. Your lips wrap around the tip, tongue swirling and teasing him before opening nice and wide.
âScheiĂe (Fuck)â he pants, caressing your cheek pulling your warm wet mouth down on his cock. It was even better than heâs imagined, his hand sets the pace rocking your head back and forth. Tears prick your eyes as he begins moving faster, fucking your throat. Each thrust deeper than the last, his hand moves to the base of your neck feeling how deep you can swallow him.
âYou look so fucking pretty sucking my cock.â He wipes a stray tear with his thumb.
You gag as he pushes further, your throat muscles contract around him before he pulls back.
âOh naughty naughty girl. You almost made me cum.â He teases, lightly pushing you back onto the bed. The mattress creaks from his massive size as he climbs between your legs, peering down at you. Your hand reaches under the mask, he firmly grips your wrist forcing it to the bed.
âAsk nicely.â He orders.
âCan I touch youâŠplease.â You beg.
He releases your hand, it finds the bottom of the mask, sliding underneath to find the stubble of a 5 o'clock shadow and soft lips. Your finger strokes his lower lip, it is plump and warm.suddenly, his mouth opens nipping and sucking the skin of your curious finger. âAh what are you-â you moan arching your back. Pushing your hand away once more, he leans down, capturing your parted lips. Your lips dance in perfect harmony, melting into one another. He moans into your mouth, his jaw tenses as your tongue pushes through savoring the flavor that is König. The head of his dick pokes at your slippery slit begging for entry, you can feel how hot he is all over causing your temperature to rise.
âOpen up for me, Iâm gonna give you everything I have.â He groans, plunging inside with a flick of his hips. Your hands claw at the smooth skin of his back as you stretch around him, his girth almost too much to handle. You cry out as he thrust deeper âJust alittle more baby, youâre taking me so wellâŠsâgood sâfucking good.â He pants filling you to the brim. He stays still for a moment letting you adjust to his large size, the pressure in your pussy nearly makes you cum right then and there.
âI feel you twitching around me princess, you canât cum yet, Iâm not done breaking you.â He pulls back before slamming back in, hitting the back of your cervix with each thrust. There is a delicious ache in your belly as he impales you, the curve of his dick reaches places you didnât even know existed.
âAh ah sâto big I-I canât I canât.â You cry biting the skin of his chest to hold back your screams.
âYouâre gonna take whatâŠIâŠgiveâŠyou.â He pounds with each word. He sits up pushing your knees to your chest forcing even deeper inside your velvety walls. This position gives him access to your stiff wet bud. With two fingers he spreads your creamy folds watching his dick pump in and out of you. Every thrust his cock emerges more coated than the last.
âYour pussy is so fucking gorgeous , look at that needy little clit.â He flicks your bud, rutting into you with all his strength. His long fingers grab your throat, your tongue lols out as he chokes you. He alternates the pressure taking you up and gently bringing you back down. âThat pretty mouth isnât so dangerous now.â Your quivering walls clench around him threatening to overflow.
âP-please Iâm gonnaâŠah!â He pulls out, gripping your waist as he throws you around, roughly raising your ass to him. Before you can register the change he splits you apart once again, slapping your plush ass, leaving hot hand prints on your skin. Those giant hands push and pull you back on his cock, using your pussy to make himself cum.
âYou have such a cute tummy.â He reaches around pressing on your lower belly feeling how full it is with his cock.
âYou would make such a pretty mommy.â He praises fucking you faster and harder. That throws you over the edge, your body convulses and clamps down icing his dick with your sweetness.
His teeth clench with an inhuman growl as his rod twitches and throbs before shooting your insides with his hot seed.
~
âLate again huh, rookie? Thatâs an extra week.â You jump, turning around. Ghost stands over you. It was true last nightâs events made it impossible to wake up at 5 am with the other soldiers. You ended up sneaking out of Königs bed in the middle of the night, hoping you could sneak back into your barracks undetected. The mission was success. You slipped into your bed at 2 a.m before anyone could realize you were gone. Unfortunately, that means you overslept, waking up three hours late.
âI wasâŠsick.â You lie scrubbing the bathroom tiles diligently.
âSick? You were fine yesterday.â He says with a flat tone.
âMust have eaten something bad, all those peanut butter and jelly sandwiches must have taken a toll.â You grunt, rubbing your stomach.
âNext time youâre sick. You report it to me in advance.â He orders.
âHow can I predict when Iâm gonna be sick?-â
âDonât question me.â He spins on his heels walking out the bathroom.
âOkay Simon.â You mock.
âWhat was that rookie?â He calls back.
âNothing Sargeant!â You exclaim.
He walks away finally, leaving you with the smell of bleach and toilet water. Your arms ache from scrubbing. throwing the sponge in the bucket of cleaning solution, you sit back against the wall thinking about last night. All morning you avoided seeing König, ducking and dodging him in the halls. Every time you thought of him, your face burned with embarrassment, there is no way you could look him in the eye after that. For now your plan is to just lay low in hopes he was too drunk to remember anything. It was nothing. Just a drunken one night stand.
âThere you are.â He charges forward looking down at you.
âH-here I am whats up KönigâŠdo you need a copy of that report-â
âWhy did you sneak out last night.â He interrupts.
âPsh me? Sneak out I didnât sneak out. I just went for a walkâŠand ended up in my bed.â You reach into the bucket with gloved hands wringing the sponge out.
âWhy couldnât we sleep together?â He asks.
You fly to your feet in a panic âShhh! What if someone hears you?â
âSo what?â He tilts his head in confusion.
âSuperior and subordinate relationships are strictly prohibited!â You whisper/yell.
âRightâŠhm, okay in here then.â He takes your hand leading you into the stall furthest from the door, The lock clicks behind you.
âCanât this wait till after hours.â You say with an annoyed tone.
âI want an explanation.â His arm rests on the wall above your head.
âThis. This is why I snuck off, to avoid whatever this is. Now Iâm stuck in a bathroom stall talking aboutâŠfeelings.â You hold your stomach making a pained face.
âThis isnât funny.â His voice is low.
âYouâre right it isnât but it is complicated .â
âY/n? You in here?â A voice calls.
You mouth shit, covering what you assumed was his mouth through the mask.
âYeah! I was just cleaning!â You call back.
âWho were you talking too?â She asks her foot steps advancing.
âNo one! Here I come!â You let him go squinting your eyes.
âThis isnât over.â He whispers sharply, moving to the side.
âI can see that.â You grumble walking out the stall to greet your friend.
âŠto be continued?
đđźđŠđŠđđ«đČ: Saying goodbye to you wasnât part of Miguelâs plan. As you prepare to leave Alchemax for a prestigious new role, Miguel struggles with the realisation that heâs about to lose more than just a colleague.
âWhat are you doing?â
Miguel watched intently as you packed away your belongings in a box, clearing up your workstation. It wasnât just a casual clean upâ this looked like something more final.
You meticulously removed the photos from the wall, gathered your notes, and neatly stacked your research papers. The once vibrant workstation, full of personality, now looked eerily bare.
âClearing my work station.â you said matter-of-factory. His chest felt heavy with uneasy tension, a sense of foreboding growing with each second.
âYeah, I got that much, genius,â he shot back, stepping closer and stopping right next to your desk. âWhy are you clearing your desk?â
You turned to face him wordlessly, his question only carrying more weight between the two of you like an unwelcome guest. His mouth went dry as he locked eyes with you.
Up close, you always managed to take his breath away, a quiet beauty that never failed to stir something deep within him. But today, there was a different kind of tension in the air, a sense of finality that he couldnât grasp.
âWell?â he prodded, though he had a sinking feeling that whatever was going to unfold would change everything.
âWell uhmâŠI put in my two weeks notice today.â
He almost choked at your words. This was worse than he anticipated. He thought maybe you were moving to a different workstation, not leaving the company entirely.
âWhat?â his voice was barely a whisper. He could feel his pulse thundering in his ears. You were leavingâ he was losing you.
âIâve been offered a lead geneticist position at another company. But itâs in Raleigh, soâŠIâm gonna have to move.â
You had worked as a research scientist at Alchemax for several years, and because of the nature of your work, you and Miguel collaborated on a daily basis.
Discussing experimental results, debating research protocolsâ it all came so naturally. Over time, what began as a professional respect grew into something more personal. And now, that bond was about to be severed.
You were leaving for a bigger, fancier job in North Carolina. The thought twisted something deep inside him and he struggled to keep himself together.
âI canât turn it down. Iâve busted my ass on the application and the whole interview process.â
âCongratsâŠâ The word came out strangled, forced through clenched teeth. Trying to talk without being overwhelmed with emotions was like trying to hold back a flood with a paper dam.
âYou donât sound very enthusiastic.â you half-joked, but there was a note of concern in your voice.
You were right, his response wasnât the best cover-up for his true feelings. The mere idea of you leaving filled him with dread, despair and most of all, jealousy.
âOf course Iâm happy for you. I know youâve been working hardâ you deserve the opportunity.â He managed to hide most of his turmoil behind a cold wall of control. But deep down, the words felt hollow.
He knew he had no right to feel this way. You had every right to leave, to seize this incredible opportunity. This wasnât something that came around often, and he didnât want to be the one to hold you back.
You set the box down on the deskâ the box that held all your belongings. âIâll still be here for another two weeks.â
âTwo weeksâŠâ he echoed, the words sticking in his throat like a curse.
Two weeks. How was that enough time to prepare for losing you? What was he supposed to do after that? Just accept that you were gone? His heart couldnât take that.
âIâll visit Nueva York whenever I get the chance,â you said, trying to sound reassuring.
âYou better. Youâre not allowed to just drop off the face of the earth once youâre goneâŠâ it was getting harder to keep his tone light.
âOf courseâŠNueva York and Alchemax aren't going to leave my mind anytime soon.â
âIâm sure youâll think of us every now and thenâŠand Iâm certain this place wonât forget youâŠâ
âI doubt it.â you scoffed, a bit of edge to your voice. âThe higher ups will probably replace me before I even step foot in North Carolina.â
Miguelâs heart sank at the thought, though he knew there was some truth to it. The idea of someone else taking your place, of your work station filled with notes and projects by another rando, was too much to bear.
He could already picture the empty space where your personal touch used to shine through, replaced by some faceless new hire who was unaware how amazing you were
âYeah, knowing them, theyâve probably already written up your job description, listing your position open for applications.â he sighed solemnly.
The company never had the best moral compass when it came to their employees, and would replace anyone that wasnât serving their needs in a heartbeat.
âItâs okay, Iâm sure Iâve left my mark here, even if I feel like I didnât do much.â
Miguel almost let out a laugh in disbelief. You were always such a hard-worker, always a quick-thinker. You had single-handedly helped him out more times than he could count.
Another company had even recognised your talent and wanted you to work for themâŠyet you still doubted your capabilities.
âAre you serious? Youâre irreplaceable. Youâve saved my ass more times than I could remember.â His voice was firm now, desperate to make you see things from his view.
âMhmm.â You hummed. âNow, Iâll soon be the lead geneticist in another company, just like you.â
The enthusiasm in your tone was impossible to miss, and it reflected in your eyes. It should have made Miguel happy for you, and in a way, it did.
But the guilt still gnawed at him, guilt that he couldnât match your excitement. Deep down, all he wanted was for you to stay, for purely selfish reasons.
âYeahâŠjust like me.â he repeated your words, the tiniest edge of bitterness creeping into his voice.
You didnât seem to notice. âI guess all those late nights of research finally paid off. And all your teachings too.â
Miguel recalled all those nights togetherâ just the two of you, the lab quiet save for the hum of machines and the scratch of pen on paper.
Mundane tasks became memorable simply because you were there. The memories sent a shiver up his spine, a bittersweet reminder of what he was about to lose.
It was a painful realisation that not everything lasts forever, especially the good things.
âDonât count all this success as being attributed to just me, you did a lot of studying, too.â he chuckled lightly. âYou really put in the hard workâŠyou earned it.â
But even as he spoke, the words tasted bitter. Even if he was proud of you, it didnât make the ache in his chest any less potent.
He glanced back at the box on your desk. No one could replace youâ not in the lab, and certainly not in his life.
âBut, I wouldnât be here without you, so I have to give you some credit.â you smiled warmly. âIf I ever win an award in this field and they make me stand on those podiums and talk to a huge audience, Iâll be sure to mention your name.â
Miguel felt his stomach flip at your words. He was at a loss for words. Youâd mention his name if you won an award? He didnât realise he had made such an impact on youâ to be someone you viewed as admirable enough to acknowledge publicly.
The thought alone could possibly make him faint. To have his name mentioned in such a light by youâŠit was almost too much to handle.
He swallowed thickly. âAhâŠyou donât have to go that far. Iâm just some scientist,â he said coolly, though his pulse quickened. âReally, youâre gonna go places, make a name for yourselfâ you donât need to credit me.â
âBut I will. You've been a big part of my career here,â you insisted.
Your words hit Miguel square in the chest. You were adamant about recognising his role in your life. It was almost overwhelming, the way you considered him to be that much of an integral part of you.
He forced out a playful scoff, hoping to mask the surge of emotions rising in him.
âYeah, I guess I helped you with some projectsâŠbut donât go listing me as some co-author in your resume.â
You laughed softly. âDonât worry, I know my limits.â
~
The next few days felt like treading on thin ice, where one wrong move could crack the fragile tension between the two of you.
Since the day you told him you were leaving, youâve been unusually reserved, quieter than usualâ a shift that didnât go unnoticed by Miguel.
The sudden change in your energy tightened the coil of anxiety in his chest, and it was made worse by his inability to figure out why you were acting this way.
Whenever he would look your way, you always seemed distracted, lost in thought. Your responses were always brief and you would only speak when spoken to.
Miguel couldnât help but feel concerned over you, but he was hesitant to ask you about it, not wanting to intrude or overstep any boundaries.
One evening, you both found yourselves working late again in his lab alone. The atmosphere was quietâ filled with the soft sounds of typing and the occasional shuffle of papers.
Miguel couldnât stop himself from stealing glances at you. You were staring at your work, but he could tell your focus was elsewhere, lost in your own thoughts that were weighing you down.
As the evening wore on, the solitude of the lab and the waning hours seemed to offer the right moment. His concern outweighed his hesitation, and he turned his chair to face you.
âYouâve been quiet all day. Is everything okay?â He asked gently.
You looked up at him from your papers. The lightning highlighted the tiredness in your eyes, your expression weary and distant.
âYeah, just thinking.â you mused.
âIs it about leaving? Are you upset?â
He could see the hesitation in your face, your eyes darting away from him and focused on the desk in front of you. âItâs not about leavingâŠwell, maybe it is, in a way.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âIâve been thinking about how Iâve been in relationshipsâŠyou know, what I wanted, what I didnât get. Iâm starting to wonder if maybe Iâve been asking for too much.â
Miguel blinked, taken back by your admission. He hadnât expected that, but now that you brought it up, he was curious to know more.
âToo much? What could you possibly have asked for that was too much?â
âJustâŠlittle things. Being held, feeling safe, someone who actually listens after a long day,â you replied. He didnât miss the tinge of bitterness in your voice. âI thought those were normal things to want, but it was like⊠like they were a burden to give.â
Hearing you feel so unappreciated made his chest tighten with frustration. How could someone make you think you were asking for too much? You deserved everything you asked for and more.
âThatâs not too much to ask. Itâs not a burdenâ itâs what you deserve.â
This wasnât a passing thought; it was clear youâd been hurt before. The idea that someone had made you feel unworthy of love you craved infuriated him.
If you were with him, you wouldnât even have to ask for that. Heâd give you everything you wanted, and then some.
You let out a tired sigh, still not fully convinced by his words. âSometimes, I wonder if Iâll ever find that. Or Iâm chasing something unrealistic.â
No, donât think that.
âYou deserve someone who will give you all of that.â
You looked up at him. He could tell his words resonated with you when he saw something hopeful in your eyes. âYou really think so?â
âI know so,â he saidâ he kept his tone low, hiding the fierce enthusiasm he felt. He could go on about everything you deserved, but he didnât want to come off as desperate. âAnd if you have found it yet, itâs not because youâre asking too much.â
There was so much more he wanted to say, so many things he wanted to doâ but he held himself back. He wanted to pull you into his embrace, just to share your warmth.
He wasnât going to confess to you, that wasnât the smartest move. Instead he pushed his feelings down for your sake, and pretended his love for you was just platonic.
âAre you in a relationship?â you asked suddenly.
Miguel had to hold himself back from giving a puzzled look. Youâve worked together for years nowâ wasn't it obvious that he was single? Maybe heâd been too vague about his love life, that was probably why you were asking.
He thought that by never mentioning a partner, it made him seem more available to you. But it seems youâve overlooked that.
Not that he was inexperienced. He had his fair share of relationshipsâ some short-lived, others too casual to be called serious.
They were a balance of good and bad, each leaving him with lessons to learn.
But he could confidently say that none of them had ever made him feel the way you did. He longed to express that with you, to tell you why you had his heart wrapped around your finger. But he knew that would only complicate things more.
âNoâŠhavenât been in one in a while.â
And youâre the reason, he wanted to add.
âWhat about you? Found anyone special yet?â A small part of him dreaded to hear you answer, even if either response wouldnât serve him any good.
âNo.â
If you werenât leaving the company, that answer wouldâve brought him joy. But now, knowing that you were available it made the situation more poignantâ a reminder that he had missed his chance.
Ironically, it wouldâve given him more clarity if you said yes.
He had gotten used to concealing his true feelings since the day you told him that youâve given your two weeks notice. But that didnât make it hurt any less.
So he offered you a reassuring smile instead, âDonât worry. Youâll find someone who will cherish you the way you deserve.â
Iâm right over here.
From the look of your face lifting up, he knew he managed to sound convincing and encouraging.
âI do have my eyes on someone thoughâŠâ you added.
Your words echoed in his head and wrapped around his throat like a vice. A storm of emotions hit him all at once, leaving him struggling to navigate through the confusion.
On one hand, he was dying to know who you were referring to. On the other, he felt shattered that someone else managed to make their way into your heart and he wasnât even aware of it.
He swallowed the lump in his throat before speaking. âOh really? What are they like?â
Each question he asked felt like digging himself deeper into a pit he might never climb out of. Even while he forced himself to act neutral, it was hard to predict when the nonchalant facade would eventually crack.
You let out a sheepish laugh before answering. âWellâŠheâs pretty tall,â
Miguelâs mind raced through every tall colleague he could think of, analysing every conversation youâd had with them, and trying to think back to any clues that would give away your feelings for them.
Miguel knew he was probably being overly cautious, but his instincts flared up. It wasnât just his jealousyâ though there was no denying that he was feeling a tinge of envyâ but he didnât want to see you get hurt by anyone.
Especially after what you revealed to him earlier. But he brought those thoughts to the side for a moment and continued to listen to you.
âHeâs⊠a little grumpy but thatâs what adds to his charm,â you added. There was something reflecting in your eyes, a sparkle that he couldnât quite grasp, but he dismissed it.
Grumpy? You found that charming? He thought back to all those times you had called him grumpy.
His stomach fluttered as he felt a new sense of hope. But he didnât let that sway his judgment and got optimistic too quickly.
âWhat else do you like about him?â Miguel asked. Deep down, Miguel felt a change of heart and he was desperate to know more, hoping that there was even the slightest chance that it might be him.
âHeâs always there when I need him, even though he tries to hide it, he secretly has a heart of gold.â
You were killing him, little by little, with every answer you were giving him. It was all the qualities he was proud to have, yet he still felt doubtful.
He managed a small smile, trying to hide the longing in his heart. âSounds like a good man. Iâm sure heâs lucky to have your affection.â
âYeah. I really hope he feels the same. Otherwise, all those coffees I gave him would be a waste,â you let out a sigh, clearly lost in thought about the man you admired.
You couldnât have been more obvious. His heart fluttered as he recalled all those coffees you would give him in the mornings, especially during your joint projects.
Thank the stars that he was a master at keeping a tight lid on his feelings. There was no way he was going to let his excitement showâ not yet, not until he was sure
âThose coffees?â he asked. âWhy do you give them to him?â
âI was hoping Iâd stand out to him and not just be a colleague he sits with.â
âStand out? What other things are you willing to do?â
âMaybe offer to help with his paperworkâ if he doesnât mind.â
Miguel couldnât believe what he was hearing, but his heart swelled with happiness with each word. You wanted to stand out to him. Offer to do his paperwork.
You didnât have to do all of that to get his attention; he had eyes on you for a long time, but all these little things you did were an added bonus.
âDo you think I should buy him more coffee?â you asked, you gaze locked with him, searching for his approval. You were asking for his opinion too.
âCoffeeâs a good ice breaker. Maybe you could add a little note too, I bet heâll notice you after that,â he kept his tone casual, but Miguel couldnât stop the grin tugging at his lips.
You looked so eager, willing to take whatever advice. After all, if you were talking about him, youâd take his advice even more seriously, right? It only made sense.
âMaybe you could ask him out on a casual date, nothing too big. Just to see how he reacts,â he teased, way too excited with how youâll respond.
Will you ask him out now?
âYou knowâŠI think Iâll call him now,â you got up to leave the room.
Everything came crashing down on him in an instant. His heart shattered, taking all his hopes with it. So, you werenât talking about him after all.
âAh, alrightâŠgood luck with that,â he tried to maintain a neutral tone, but the strain in his voice betrayed him.
The weight of his unrequited love pressed heavily on his chest, it was almost palpable. Each step you took away felt like a knife twisting deeper into his heart.
How could he have been so foolish? Of course, it wouldnât be him.
From the sound of your footsteps, you walked a few doors down, away from his earshot. You probably didnât want him to overhear.
Sadness and disappointment surrounded him like a suffocating fog as he slumped back at his desk. He hadnât heard from you in half an hour.
You were either working up the courage to call your love interest or caught in an extended conversation. But what he didnât expect was to see your name pop up on his phone screen when his phone rang.
Although he didnât want to hear how your conversation went, he still wanted to be supportive. He loved you too much to ruin your happiness.
He cleared his throat, bracing himself for whatever you had to say, expecting to have his heart shattered again, before picking up the phone. âHello?â
âOh, donât say âhelloâ like you havenât saved my number,â you teased.
Miguel forced out a chuckle, trying to match your lightheartedness. âYou got me there. Of course I have your number saved. So, how did it go?â he asked, his voice filled with forced anticipation, even as his heart pounded in his chest.
âWell, that guy I was talking about earlierâŠâ
You left the sentence hanging, as if daring him to grasp the meaning. Miguel cleared his throat, keeping his composure and hoping his voice wouldnât betray his pain. âGo onâŠwhat happened?â
There was a pause that went on for a few seconds, but it was enough to make his stomach twist as he waited for your response. Finally, you spoke.
âWell, did you know that it was you and were just acting clueless? Or did you not pick that up, yet?â you asked.
Miguel froze, the words processed in his mind. For a moment, he was stunned into silence, his grip tightening around the phone near his ear. His mind replayed the conversation you had just shared to see if he missed anything.
Then, a small smile slowly crept on his face, a mix of disbelief and dawning realisation. Now, hearing you confirm that it was true, he couldnât hide his relief and the warmth that spread across his chest.
âIâŠuhâŠhadâŠmy suspicions,â he stuttered, his voice thick with emotion. âBut hearing you say it nowâŠit means more than you know.â
He paused for a moment, realising he might be sounding too eager, too vulnerable. âBut what did you mean when you said âdid you not pick that upâ? Was itâŠwas it not obvious that I had feelings for you too?â
âNo, actually.â
A soft sigh of relief escaped Miguelâs lips. Heâd tried so hard to keep his feelings for you hidden, fearing rejection to avoid an awkward situation that might follow, especially with you leaving the city.
But knowing now that he hadnât been as obvious he fearedâ that you hadnât noticedâ was a strange comfort. Still, a part of him couldnât help but wonder how things might have been different if heâd confessed first. Would he have had the courage? Probably not, even with your imminent departure.
âWellâŠnow that we both know how we feel, what does that mean for us? Are youâŠhappy that I have feelings for you too?â
âDuh.â
Miguel let out a chuckle at your blasé response. The tension in his chest from earlier was starting to ease, allowing him to bask in the moment.
But the reality of your limited time here was starting to set in, dulling his joy with a stab of regret.
âSoâŠyouâre still leaving, huh?â he couldnât hide the solemn tone in his voice.
âYeah, I am. But that doesnât mean this has to end before it starts.â
His heart stuttered at that. âYou really think we could make it work.â
âIf we both want it, I donât see why not.â The determination in your voice was palpable, even through the phone. It made him feel more desired than ever.
âI want it. More than anything. And right now, I really want to kiss you.â
âHold on, let me come to you,â you hung up the phone and Miguel could hear your footsteps getting closer.
Once you finally arrived, you looked back up at him. Miguel could see the eagerness and the tinge of mischief in your eyes.
âKiss me please.â
At that moment, he knew there was no use waiting any longer. His lips met yours in a soft, tender kiss. He couldnât remember the last time he felt this alive.
He couldnât believe this was really happening, he had always dreamed of this moment but now that he was experiencing it in person, it felt too surreal to be real.
His arms wrapped around you, pulling you closer as his lips moved lovingly against yours. Breaking the kiss, he took a moment to study your face.
He wanted to kiss you again, to tell you sweet nothings that he had been holding back for so long. But he knew he had to compose himself and give you a moment to breathe.
âLock the doors,â your voice echoed in his mind, sending his mind into a frenzy. He chuckled but still obliged, giving you both a newfound privacy.
Everything else felt like a blur and the next moment, he was unbuttoning your shirt and tossing it to the side. He didnât waste any time doing the same to your pants.
His throat went dry when he noticed the wet patch on your undies, a sign that you were just as turned on as he was.
Just as infatuated.
It drove him crazy. As he leaned in, he felt your hands hike up under his shirt too. He took this as a sign to remove it, his toned body now in full view. His muscleâs glistened under the light.
He pressed your bare chest against hisâ the raw feeling of your skin against his was pure ecstasy. He lifted your body with ease and set you on a clear desk.
His body was still pressed against yours as he kissed over your neck and down your collar bone. He felt so lucky to have you in his arms like this, even better in his lab.
You were finally hisâŠ
He knelt down between your legs, his hands caressing over each thigh. His lips found your inner thigh, kissing over your skin, dangerously close to your core.
It was his ultimate goal to memorise every curve and crevice of your skin, what made you tick and all your favourite spots you liked to be touched. He wanted to savour this moment as much as he could.
His tongue slowly ran over your soaked cunt, finally getting a taste of you. Immediately, you gasped and your legs twitched in response.
You tasted incredible, or maybe that was just the heat of the moment. He continued to pleasure you with his mouth, his tongue tracing delicious, slow patterns around your sensitive bud.
He heard you gasp out his name which motivated to continue. His hand reached up to intertwine with yours, his touch grounding and tender as he continued to pleasure you with his mouth.
âOh GodâŠright there, Miguelââ
Your free hand reached into his scalp and gently tugged on his curls. Feeling your hips grinding against his tongue only drove him further, desperate to coax your orgasm.
Thatâs itâŠ
Give yourself to me.
He knew the moment you reached your peak when he felt you tighten your grip on his hair and cry out his name. Seeing the way you threw your head back in the throes of your climax sent an overwhelming shiver through his bodyâ a sensation he couldnât describe.
Your body convulsed against his mouth as you squirted on his tongueâ and he licked you clean eagerly. Finally, he pulled his mouth away, his tongue leaving your body with a final, tantalising flick.
He ran his fist across his mouth to rid your wetness before rising up to his feet. You were completely spent, your body limp and your breath came out ragged.
Your legs were still shaking from your fresh release. He couldnât help but glide over your cheeks, his thumb tracing over your cheekbone.
He felt you lean into his touch as he savoured the feel of your skin beneath his fingers.
âYouâre so beautiful like this,â he whispered, pressing his forehead against yours.
You let out a shaky laugh, catching your breath. âLike this? All sweaty and musty? You must really love me thenâŠâ
Only you would throw a sarcastic comment after he ate you out. After a moment of stillness, you came down from your high. He spread your legs apart as he hovered over you on the desk.
The precum that leaked from his tip mixed with your wetness as he positioned his tip over your entrance. Slowly, he pushed himself in and was immediately overwhelmed by your cushiony grip over his tip.
Your fingers gripped onto his biceps, keeping yourself steady as he pushed further. Once he bottomed out, you lifted your head to see the light bulge on your belly.
A sense of pride washed over him, seeing your eyes feast on the lewd sight of him filling you up. Every inch of him was all yours.
He dragged himself out with your wetness coating his dick before pushing back in again. His body moved against yours in a perfect harmony, every motion was driven to heighten the pleasure between the two of you.
As the ecstasy reached a new height, Miguelâs body trembled slightly. He couldnât resist letting out a soft moan followed by your name, his voice filled with all the love he had for you.
âJust like thatâŠâ you murmured against his lips.
Hearing your praise, Miguelâs lips curled into a smile, his expression filled with a mixture of confidence and pride.
Every stroke hit a new depth, sending a shiver through both of you.
All he could think about was being connected with you in every way possible. Physically. Emotionally. He angled himself so his pelvic bone could rub and stimulate your bundle of nerves.
âMiguel-!â
You let out a cry when he changed his pace, your nails digging into his back. He wanted you to feel him for weeks, remembering this night. Each sharp, precise thrust, hitting your sweet spot over and over and driving you over the edge.
He could feel his own peak crawling up with each passing second. His thrusts grew more desperate and frenzied, aiming to chase his high with your body wrapped around his own.
âLook at meâŠI want to see you,â he breathed.
The sight of you under him, taking everything he was giving you, sent him over the edge. His body tensed as he reached the pinnacle of his own climax.
With one last thrust deep into your heat, his cum pulsated into you in strong waves. He stayed balled deep until each were drained and waited for a moment before he pulled his hips back.
He felt withdrawal as he released himself from your grip, his deflated dick now hung between his legs.
His body slumped weakly against yours, the intensity of the moment leaving him content and blissfully exhausted. The world around him faded into the background. In that instant, everything felt perfect.
The pulse in his ears gradually quieted to a gentle hum, and his muscles started to relax as he settled against you.
As he kept his arms around you, holding you close, he felt at peace for the first time in what felt like ages. It all felt so rightâ like this was exactly where he was supposed to be.
He wanted to stay like this, savouring the closeness, but your soft gasp tugged at his concerns.
âAre you okay?â he asked, still feeling lightheaded from the afterglow. âWhatâs wrong?â
You quickly sat up on the desk, adjusting your clothes with a sense of urgency. âWe need to put our clothes back on.â
The seriousness in your voice jolted back into reality. The sterile scent of the lab and the harsh fluorescent lights snapped into sharp focus, reminding him where you were. He carefully pulled himself away from you, his mind scrambling to catch up.
As he gathered his clothes from the floor and desk, the remnants of your passion, he couldnât help but glance back at youâ disheveled, flushed and utterly captivating.
Once he was fully dressed, he looked at you with amusement. âI think we can slip out before anyone asks what weâve been up to,â he teased with a grin.
You buttoned your shirt, still appearing slightly frantic. âDid we make a mess?â
Miguel scanned the lab, his eyes sweeping over the desk and the floor. He didnât spot any obvious signs of a mess, but that didnât mean there wasnât one. The weight of what had just happened hung in the air.
Still, the room would be locked overnightâ no one would see anything.
âWellâŠâ he replied with a casual shrug. âIâm not too worried about any physical evidence. As long as they didnât hear you cry out my name.â
You shot him a mildly annoyed look, pressing your lips together. âWe should clock out before anyone suspects us.â
Just as you were about to move, Miguel gently pulled your arm. âBefore we goâŠI need to know if this is something you truly want. Not just a temporary escape.â His voice was soft with vulnerability as he searched your eyes.
Your lips curled up into a reassuring smile. âLetâs go out to dinner and talk more there.â
Miguelâs eyes sparkled, the tension on his shoulders lifting. The idea of an intimate dinner, just the two of you, felt like the perfect addition to the connection you had just deepened.
He felt a sense of triumph as he allowed himself to experience this with you after the long, silent yearning.
âYeah,â he said. âIâd love to have dinner,â
You leaned in, pressing a soft kiss on his cheek. âCome on then, letâs get out of here.â
Miguel quickly switched off the lights and locked up before taking your hand in his. The two of you stepped out into the crisp night air, leaving the labâ and its memoriesâ behind.
~
Miguel sat behind the wheel of his car, gripping on the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles turned white. You both agreed that heâd drive you to the airport, allowing you to spend these last moments together.
The car ride was silent, save for the occasional crackling of the chip packet in your hands. Miguel's eyes flickered towards you as you reached for another chip. You seemed calm and collected, but he knew better.
He opened his mouth to say something, anything, to break the silence, but nothing came out. Words that normally flowed so easily from him were caught in his throat. What could he possibly say that would make it any easier?
âDo you want some?â you offered, holding out the bag.
He shook his head, lips twitching into a forced smile. âIâm not really hungry right now.â
His eyes were back on the road. The thought of food was the furthest thing from his mind right now. All he could think about was the impending goodbye as the streets of Nueva York blurred past.
âAre you okay?â your voice, a soft caress.
He let out a dry, humorless laugh. Of course he wasnât okay. How could he be? But he nodded anyway, giving you a reassuring smile that didnât reach his eyes.
âIâm fineâŠjust a little nervous about dropping you off at the airport, thatâs all.â It wasnât a complete lie, but it wasnât the full truth either.
The truth was too raw, too painful, to voice. He didnât want to admit how devastating he was and burden you with his feelings, not now.
âIâve never done anything this big before.â you confessed. He could hear the uncertainty in your voice. âMoving to a completely different stateâŠâ
He felt a mix of sadness and pride in his chest. He was so proud of you for taking such a big step, but at the same time, he wished things were different and you could stay with him a little longer.
If only he had known sooner, maybe he would have had the courage to confessâ to hold you close and never let you go. To have you to himself just a little longer.
âI know, itâs a big deal,â he tried to sound comforting. âBut youâre smart, and capable, and I know youâre gonna do amazing.â
âThanks, I needed that reassurance.â you sighed. âIâm a little nervous. What if I donât fit in and Iâm tooâŠNueva York-y for them.â
With one hand, Miguel reached over and gently squeezed your thigh, while the other gripped the steering wheel.
He tried to radiate some of his warmth and comfort, despite his emotions swirling like a vortex inside him.
âYouâre going to fit in just fine. Youâre the most adaptable person I know. And even if you are a bit âNueva York-yâ, as you put it, I think the people of North Carolina could use a bit of that.â
He glanced back at you, catching the flicker of unease in your eyes. It was refreshing to know that, despite your excitement, you were still feeling the same apprehension that had been eating him.
It gave a sense of connectionâ knowing this change was just as daunting to you as it was for him.
âYouâre going to enlighten them with your 'Nuyoricanâ charm, trust me,â he said lightly.
As the airport car park came into view, Miguel felt a shudder. The moment of truth was closing in with each passing second. The parking lot was busy, surrounded by the hum of engines and the distant echo of rolling suitcases.
Once he found a parking space, he switched off the engine and sighedâ the sound heavy with the weight of unspoken words. Part of him wanted to stay rooted in his seat, to delay the inevitable just a little longer.
But he knew better. There was no escaping this. No loophole.
Even if it killed him.
He stepped out of the car and opened the trunk. The reality of the situation was hitting him as he helped you with your luggage. This was really happening.
Inside the terminal, the building was bustling with activityâ people rushing to catch flights, families reunited, and others parting with goodbyes. The overhead announcements echoed across the vast space, creating a backdrop of noise.
But the chaos felt distant to Miguel, like it was happening in another world. His entire focus was on the small details of youâ how tightly you gripped the suitcase handle, the way your eyes darted around and scanning signs to find where you were supposed to go.
Every little movement you made seemed to carve into his memory, as if he were trying to etch these final moments into his mind.
He tried to keep himself distracted by glancing at the departure board, watching to see when your flightâs status changed to âboardingâ. Meanwhile, you checked in your flight and dropped off any checked baggage.
Once that was done, Miguel walked with you to the security gates. His heart grew heavier with each step. The moment of separation was looking closer and closer like a looming shadow.
âAlrightâŠthis is itâŠâ you announced, finally reaching the security gates. Only ticketed passengers could pass, so this was where he would have to let you go.
There were a few guards already waving people through, urging the crowd to keep moving. The noise of shuffling feet, distant conversations, and the occasional beep of the scanners filled the air, but it all seemed muted to Miguel. He looked back at you one last time, his heart hammering in his chest.
He wanted to say somethingâ anythingâ to keep you from leaving. Words like âdonât goâ or âI love youâ hovered on the top of his tongue, but he knew they were pointless. You were leaving, the ticket was booked, and nothing he could say would change that.
âIâm⊠Iâm gonna miss youâŠâ the word felt insignificant in the grand scheme of things. But they were the only truth he could manage.
He knew it was pathetic to confess that now, like it wasnât obvious already, like it was going to change anything.
âI want to give you somethingâŠâ you reached for your bag, and Miguelâs breath caught in his throat when he saw what you pulled outâ a Polaroid picture.
He took the picture from you, a nostalgic smile spread across your face when he saw the image. It was a picture from your early days at Alchemax, back when he had still been pretending to be annoyed with you.
In the photo, he was giving his signature grumpy glare, arms crossed over his broad chest, while you stood behind him and grinning widely. You were not bothered at all by his gruff demeanor.
âI wanted to wait until the last minute to give it to you,â you rubbed your neck sheepishly.
Miguel chuckled at your words. It was so typical of you, waiting to give him something special at just the right moment.
âOf course you did.â he replied fondly, his fingers tracing the picture gently. He slipped the photo in his wallet, a place where he could keep it close. âItâs perfectâŠthank you,â
It was more than just a picture, it was a snapshot of a moment in time, a memory heâd hold onto long after you were gone.
You look back up at him, your expression earnest and vulnerable. âBĂ©same?â
âCon mucho gusto, mi amor,â he whispered, his voice thick with emotion as he closed the distance between the two of you.
He cradled your face in his hands, his thumb brushing softly against your cheek. His lips traced over the contour of yours, savouring the moment before fully capturing your lips in a passionate kiss.
The kiss was everythingâ desperate, filled with unspoken words and unfulfilled yearnings. He wanted to hold onto this moment forever, to keep you with him like this just a little longer, but he knew he had to let you go.
Reluctantly, he pulled away, though he rested his forehead on yours, his breath becoming in ragged gasps.
âBe safe, okay?â he murmured.
âIâll call you when I land...if I get any signal,â you replied with a shaky smile.
You start to queue up for the security gates, your luggage trailing behind you. Miguelâs heart twists as the line slowly gets shorter, the distance between you growing with each passing second.
He couldnât do anything but watch with his hands shoved deep in his jeans pockets. His eyes were fixated on your figure, memorising every last detail of you.
He knew that once you went through those gates, he would never be able to kiss you, or hold you, or touch you.
Just as you disappeared out of sight, behind the security gates, the airport intercom called out your flight number and announced the final boarding call.
He watched the departure board change to âIn Airâ which was the final push to turn away. He walked back to his car, the Polaroid photo in his wallet burned into his psyche.
Look, I know the smut seems a little rushed here but I didnât want to focus on the spice in this story but rather the bittersweet, emotionally rollercoaster.
âł mattheo riddle x fem!reader (fluff, little angst)
âł đ€đđđ đđđąđđĄ : 1,5k
đ đąđđđđđŠ : you and mattheo reunite after two painful months of being away during summer.
âââ ââ
ââ
â âââ
two months. sixty-five days. a thousand five hundred and sixty hours. that was the amount of time mattheo had spent away from you. two months of being secluded from the rest of the world, and from his own world, his girlfriend. two months of enduring the worst and most painful pain, both mentally and physically, inflicted by his father.
ever since heâd started at hogwarts, six years ago, mattheo had always dreaded the time he had to go back to the place others called âhome.â despite the whispers and reputation that followed him at school, hogwarts was his refuge. it was the one place that gave him space away from his biggest enemy. because thatâs what voldemort was to him, his enemy, not his father.
although mattheo rarely opened up about his family life. or the lack thereof, it was painfully clear for you what he was going through. you knew he would return to school with bruises on his body and scars on his heart, reminders of whatever horrors he had been through at the riddle mansion. the truth was, you had spent the entire summer in a state of anxiety, unable to sleep and feeling like a piece of your soul was missing and hurting. the fact that you couldnât contact him gnawed at you and made you full of guilt and worry.
âyou donât understand ! if something happened, i would never know,â you had told his friends, who you kept in touch with during the summer. âare you sure heâs okay? i want him back, i canât bear the thought of him going back there again.â you declared when they all tried to reassure you.
as you said your final goodbyes to your family on the train platform, your eyes wandered the crowded station, desperately looking for the familiar brown-eyed boy you craved like oxygen. one by one, your friends appeared, excited to be back here for another year at hogwarts. you forced a smile, hugging them and making small talk, while fighting to keep your mind off mattheoâs missing presence..
once on the train, pansy cornered you and began to share every detail of her summer flings. you listened politely, but eventually you excused yourself, heading away from your friends and wandering through the narrow corridor of the train. still no sign of mattheo. your heart sank a little more every time you passed through another compartment where he wasnât.
finally, you found an empty compartment and entered it, sitting down and resting your head against the cool glass of the window. the rhythm of the train was comforting, and despite your best efforts to stay awake, your fatigue won the battle. âwhere are you, matt ?â you whispered, the words barely escaping your lips before you fell in a deep sleep.
the gentle movement of the train and the distant sound of voices in other compartments surrounded you as you slept, your body curled up on the wooden seat. the weight of the past few months, of sleepless nights and constant worry finally caught up with you, pulling you into a deep slumber.
you didnât hear the compartment door open. you didnât see the familiar figure standing there, hesitating, his breath catching in his throat as he looked at you for the first time in what felt like forever. mattheoâs heart ached at the sight of you, your face peaceful but marked by the signs of exhaustion and worry.
for a moment he just stood there, letting the reality of your presence wash over him. he had replayed this moment in his mind countless times during those two long months, as it was the only thing that kept him going. but nothing could have prepared him for the overwhelming rush of emotions now that he was here, seeing you again.
finally, unable to bear the distance any longer, he stepped forward. slowly, carefully and as if afraid to break the fragile peace of the moment, he knelt down beside you, his hand trembling as he reached out to gently brush a strand of hair away from your face.
the touch was featherlight, but it was enough to wake you up. your eyes fluttered open, the memories of your dreams slowly giving way to reality. and then you saw him. mattheo, his familiar brown eyes filled with something deep and raw, something that made your breath catch in your throat.
âmattheoâŠâ you whispered, as if saying his name would make him disappear, as if he was just another dream. but he was real, he was here with you, cupping your cheek and brushing it softly with his calloused fingertips. âitâs me,â he murmured with a rough voice filled with emotions. âiâm here, love.â
you sat up with a pounding heart, your hands reaching out to touch him, to make sure he was real. your fingers traced the lines of his face, the familiar curve of his jaw, the faint bruises that were fresh on his skin. your eyes unconsciously filled with tears, and you couldnât hold them back any longer. âi was so scared,â you choked out, your voice breaking. âi didnât know if⊠i thought-â
âshhâ mattheo whispered, pulling you into his arms, holding you close as your body shook with sobs. âiâm sorry. iâm so sorry.â you clung to him, your fingers digging into the fabric of his robes as if you could somehow keep him with you, keep him away him from leaving you again. your touch was hurting his bruised body but he didnât budge, because your presence was worth all the hurt in the world. âdonât ever leave me like that again,â you pleaded against his chest. âi canât lose you, mattheo.â
he held you tighter, his own eyes stinging with tears he refused to let fall. âi wonât â he promised, his voice thick with emotion. âi wonât ever leave you again.â for a long moment, the two of you just held each other with nothing left but the sound of your breathing, the beating of your hearts in sync. you slowly pulled back just enough to look at him, your hands still cradling his face.
âyouâre hurt,â you said softly, your eyes tracing the bruises, the dark circles under his eyes, the pain that was visibly there. âwhat did he do to you?â mattheo shook his head slightly, closing his eyes for a moment as if trying to block out the memories. âit doesnât matter,â he said, his voice barely above a whisper. âiâm here now. thatâs all that matters, iâm home.â because that was the truth, no matter how much time he spent back at the riddle manor, the only real home he had was you.
you opened your mouth to say that it did matter, that he couldnât just brush it off like that and that you needed him to talk to you, but the look in his eyes stopped you. there was a darkness there, a pain that made your heart ache. you knew he wasnât ready to talk about it, not yet. so you nodded, swallowing the lump in your throat. âokay,â you whispered, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to his forehead. âyouâre home, baby.â
mattheo seemed to melt under your touch and closed his eyes, his arms still wrapped tightly around you as if he was afraid that you would disappear. but you didnât. you stayed right there, grounding him and reminding him that you would never leave. âi missed you so much,â you broke the silence, whispering. âevery day, every night⊠it was like a part of me was missing.â
âi missed you too,â mattheo admitted, his voice barely audible. words of affirmations were rare for him, so you cherished each one of his words. âit was the only thing that kept me going. knowing that iâd come back to you.â you looked into his eyes, seeing the truth in his words, the vulnerable side of him he didnât let anyone else see. you rested your forehead against his, softly tracing the shape of his lips and trying to memorise every single feature of his face.
âiâm not letting you go back there again,â you whispered, your voice steady despite the tears that were about to fall again. âi want to be with you, always.â your boyfriend nodded and tightened his grip on you. âi wonât leave you again, i promiseâ he declared, a promise he intended to keep.
with that, he pressed a delicate kiss on your soft lips, both of you afraid to hurt one another. you kissed him back, reassuringly tangling your fingers in his curled hair as his hand found your waist, fitting perfectly like a missing puzzle piece. it was gentler than your usual desperate and hunger filled touches, but it meant everything, a promise that the two of you would only ever stay together and protect one another.
Series masterlist . Ao3
In times past, Astarion would have found momentary solace in the person standing right before him. After all, silence and whatever could be called normalcy were hard to come by in Cazador's palace.
The servants had been the very embodiment of the life he had long lost. In fact, they had been the only life that roamed the vast halls. All had accepted being there willingly and under the foolish illusion that Cazador would one day grant them the gift of immortality.Â
If you could actually call it a giftâŠ
And even though they were loyal to the vampire lord to a fault, they were, for the most part, quite amicable to his spawn as well. Some would even tend to the vast and deep wounds inflicted by Cazador after he had spent his wrath.
Astarion had been quite fortunate to be on the receiving end of their mercy on numerous occasions, when his field of vision was nothing but a pool of blood â a sore reminder that crossing Cazador Szarr was not to be taken lightly.
Eyla?
He did remember her name and her kindness and gentle touch amidst his wails of pain.
âSurprised to see me?â
The slim figure took a few sure steps in his direction as he cradled your limp form in his arms, still overrun with shock.
Astarion tried to talk, but no words left his mouth.
âI suppose your silence is a novelty,â she said, coming to a halt as she pushed the hood down, revealing her pleasant face. âAfter all, you were always the loud and troublesome one.â
For better or for worse, navigating through undeath and the unpredictability of his circumstances ever since he was snatched from Baldur's gate, had taught him a thing or two about being prepared and always on guard.
The dagger tightly strapped to his thigh was proof of it. He would only need to move his hand slightly under you to reach the hilt.
âWhat have you done to her?â
The woman's lips were pressed into a fine line for a long while, as if examining his question.
His patience was running thin, and he tried hard to keep her engaged enough so he could find a way to incapacitate her.
âDo not fret â she will be fine,â she said with a sigh, drawing even closer. âNot that it wouldn't give me great pleasure to put an end to the so-called hero of Baldur's Gate and her role in what you did to the master.â
Ah.
He should have known that this had something to do with Cazador. It seemed that he was destined to have him haunt him even in true death.
The sudden realisation hit him so hard he held you even closer to his body, shifting along the bench as if that would create a safe distance from Eyla.
Surprised was soon drowned out by the ever-growing anger that took root within him. He was known for his temper and outbursts, and clearly not the most sensible man when cornered.
But this was something else entirely.
Astarion had over two hundred years of having the worst atrocities being inflicted upon his body and mind. As far as he was concerned, he had managed to find useful ways to deal with imminent threats to him.
But he wasn't so lenient when it came to you.
You were off limits to anyone.
And he wasn't going to allow any harm to befall you.
âYou'd be wise to undo this right now, or this conversation will be rather short.â
She had the nerve to snicker, eyes flickering under the moonlight. âFreedom has made you even more insufferable and entitled. Godey ought to have been harsher to you back then. I reckon one hundred more lashings would have made a difference each time you crossed the master.â
Rage swirled throughout his body like poisonous fumes, and he found it hard to stay put through the taunting.
But she was a fool to think she could best him in his natural element. After all, he had a tongue sharp enough to rival the blade of his dagger.
âWell, darling,â he started, slipping nearly effortlessly into his usual demeanour, âGodey is now nothing but a pile of dust, so unless you intend on joining him for a tea party in the afterlife, I'd make sure to tread lightly.â
And like clockwork, the first cracks began to show.
Her face dropped ever so slightly and he figured he had one - maybe two if the gods above even cared to bestow him any grace - sneer remark left before she lashed out at him.
âYou insolent and ungrateful brat,â Eyla spat out through gritted teeth, both fists clenched at her sides, allowing him to inferÂ
Well, he had clearly exhausted her patience already, hadn't he?
No bother.
His right hand now gripped the handle of the dagger firmly, as he readied himself for an imminent physical confrontation.
But something made him freeze almost instantly, and his gaze dropped briefly to your face.
Maybe, just maybe, it was merely his mind playing tricks on him and feeding off his desperation, but he could swear he felt you shift slightly against him.
And then he saw your face tense.
A sudden wave of relief washed down on him, his free hand giving you a reassuring squeeze.
Good girl.
It was in moments like this that he vaguely wished â much to his utter disgust â that the wriggling worm was still a . He would have made good use of them right now.
More than relief, he felt pride.
He had yet to meet someone quite as resilient as you. Whatever incantation had been cast on you surely wasn't enough to contain the tempest within you.
You had been shaped by the elements and woven into a sorcerer whose magic wasn't so easily put out. He had been foolish to think a mere vampire lord servant could ever be a match against your mind.
âIsn't it enough that you turned on your master and betrayed him?â
Oh, what a bloody nuisance. He had no patience to entertain speeches of heartbroken servants whose wet dream had been crushed.
HoweverâŠ
You shifted again, but no sound came from your parting lips.
Astarion knew then he had to play the waiting game. There was no denying you were slowly but surely coming to your senses, but he couldn't draw attention to it.
More than friends, you two had grown to become teammates, taking in on each other's queues to know when to make the right move.
He knew you needed time, and time he would give you.
Meeting her eyes with defiance, he took on the challenge. âWhat Cazador sold you was naught but a fantasy.â
Your hand shifted next.
Mentioning his name so blatantly made her visibly shudder. âHow dare you? You utter his name with no regard that he saved you from certain death.â
He leaned back with a roll of his eyes, further reeling her into his trap. âOh, please. And what would he save you from, exactly? Idiocy? I am afraid it would take more than a vampire bite to fix such ailment, dear Eyla. Eternal life can only do so much.â
Warmth began spreading under his palm, letting him know that you were returning to him.
Still, you needed more time.
âYour words might work on the weak, but not on me.â
âAnd yet⊠you managed to serve a vampire lord who had no intention to ever deliver his promises.â
Eyla was young and naive, so he couldn't truly fault her for being so passionate and loyal. Cazador's grasp reached far and viciously. Astarion had once fallen for hisÂ
âThat does not make me weak.â
A crooked grin curled his lips. âJust an idiot, then.â
He tugged on his dagger slowly, allowing his fingers to glide down across the blade, knowing that, sooner or later, he would have to make use of it.
Eyla scoffed, crossing her arms, apparently unaware that you were no longer unconscious.
Come on⊠you're almost there, darling, he urged sweetly in his head as if his words could ever reach you.
âThe others warned me that you had become rather insufferable.â
Others?
âOh, how very interesting,â he said, trying his best to ignore your hand clawing at his shirt. âAva?â
Were they⊠friends? In on this together?
Her brows furrowed. âThe monster hunter whore you befriended? Don't insult me.â
Clearly not.
WellâŠÂ
âDoes this rendezvous even have a purpose?â Astarion said with a forced yawn. âAre we to swap snarky remarks until one of us perishes? I had more engaging plans for this evening.â
The serenity in her face had given her away.Â
She wasn't alone and he was a master of shadows.
Even in the poorly lit area, he could see silhouettes drawing near right behind her. That was certainly yet another nuisance he would have to deal with.
âAstarionâŠâ
Your voice snapped him out of his bloodbath scheming right away.
For a brief moment, he let his guard down by meeting your hazy eyes.
âThere you are.â
His voice was almost shaky from relief, but it would come at a cost.
It had been an unfortunate distraction.
He wasn't sure how he managed to tap so quickly into his reflexes, but he soon felt the warm and familiar splatter of blood hit his face, making him wince from bloodlust.
In the midst of chaos and footsteps and hisses surrounding him, he was able to spot the man he had hurled his dagger at, slicing clean through the pulsing artery in his neck. The obscene gush of blood that ensued as he hit the ground was enough to drive any vampire mad.
And he was not immune to it.
He hadn't fed in days and he could use this to his advantage. In fact, he reckoned it would be the only way out.
Droplets streamed down his face, hitting his lips, and he wasn't strong enough to deny himself of an added burst of power. As such, his tongue darted out and a rumbling groan tore through him as the liquid progressively took over his senses. One by one.
Blood was blood.
He would have preferred yours, but he was far too hungry to be picky.
He had pushed you right behind him as he leapt from the bench, determined to take on anyone who dared to come close.
By the time he had managed to retrieve his dagger, Eyla had a smile dancing on her lips. One that had his eyes wide.
Astarion was fast and agile, but he was also severely outnumbered.
Two other men had rushed to his side, and he flinched as something began poking at his lower abdomen, as they looped strong arms around his own, immobilising him in place.
Wooden stakes.
âAstarionâŠâ
Your voice was still void of the life it usually held. It was evident that you were still weak and in no condition to fight.
And, in truth, he wasn't even sure he wanted you to.
âDrop the dagger.â
It wasn't a request.
It was a command and he wasn't sure how to dodge this one. He usually carried knives and other daggers on him just to be on the safe side, but he didn't think he would need those tonight.
Fucking idiotâŠ
No amount of self-deprecation would get him out of this one.
They wanted to kill him for what he had done to Cazador. They wanted revenge and he wasn't sure how his wits and snarky replies would talk him out of this one.
He groaned as one man drove the stake harsher against him, from under his shirt. Still, the pressure wasn't enough to break skin. Not yet, at least.
As a reflex, he immediately let go of the dagger, hearing it land with a muffled thump on the grass.
Eyla's spirit had been renewed and she took measured steps towards him.Â
He heard grunts from his side as you struggled to sit down on the bench, flickering snaps of lightning emerging from your hands.
That almost made him smile.
You were a fighter through and through, and he wouldn't mind parting this world in these terms. Knowing you had been enough to ease the pain of centuries of hurt. He had been given a second chance at life when he met you and not when he was made immortal.Â
He had never felt more alive than in the moments he had spent with you and he would wish to have more, but he couldn't wish for that at your expense. After all, you had your whole life ahead of you.Â
He had had his fill.Â
He was ready to meet whatever fate awaited him, as long as you were kept safe.
âYou're coming with us.â
His brows furrowed, caught by surprise.
âDo not harm her.â
Eyla was so close he could feel her hot breath on his skin, fanning the blood on his face that had begun to dry into sticky patches.
âWe are not harming anyone,â she said viciously. âBut we've had enough of you running around unscathed after what you've done.â
He wished he could tear his eyes from you, but it was like a force field. Your arms trembled as you tried your best to rein in the elements inside you. Lighting and fire swirled erratically from your hands.Â
Yours was wild magic.
Hard to harness and bend to your will.
Even harder when thrown off balance unexpectedly.
âLook at me, Astarion.â
The two men pressed the stakes harder and he had no choice but to comply, meeting her eyes again.
âDid you really think we were going to allow you to have your happily ever after? That you could off into the sunset with her once you found a way to not burn to ashes?â
She was mocking him⊠goading him, knowing he was rendered immobile.
âHave you been the ones sabotaging this all along?â
A surge of outrage nearly burst from deep within as her silence answered his question.Â
âSurprised?â
That would be an understatement. He couldn't even begin to describe the turmoil that gripped him from the inside out.
âWhyâŠâ His voice faltered momentarily, âwhy not just kill me right when you had the chance?â
At this, Eyla laughed. âIs there a bigger punishment than the illusion of freedom? Killing you would have been the kinder way out for you,â she went on, each word dripping with poison. âNo. No, Astarion. You were a fool to hope. You were a fool to hope your misery was over.â
A part of him was still in shock at the revelation, and he had no smart jabs that could possibly help him right now.
But the truth was that, the rest of him, had begun to accept that. He had been a fool indeed to think he could have had any other ending than this.
That he could have had a semblance of happiness with you.
âBut I think that we are tired of playing this game. Maybe it's finally time to kill you.â
Just like a punch to his gut, he was quickly overtaken with dread as he heard a faint whimper from you.. âIf you're going to kill me, don't do it in front of her.â
âYou are in no position to make demands.â
âPlease.â
He was running out of time.Â
He thought he had bought enough for you to recover, but you couldn't even bring yourself to sit upright, let alone save him from whatever awaited him.
Most importantly, he was running out of ways to ensure you weren't scarred for life for witnessing him being destroyed.
âOh, you're going to beg? The way you used to beg Cazador to stop carving the scars you carry on you, hmm?â Eyla said, visibly satisfied with the effect her words had on him. âGet on your knees and beg, then.â
âNo⊠fuckâŠâ you said in between groans.Â
He'd rather you had lost consciousness once again, for each word from you was as a dagger that was carved into him.
âAstarion. Do not kneelâŠâ
The two men holding him tight chuckled darkly as his knees began to cave in, but before he could go through with it, Eyla raised one hand, halting him.
âWhat if we kill her instead?â she chirped, making her way to you. âI think we should. Astarion would have an eternity to suffer for having killed the only person he has ever truly loved.â
Blinded by anguish, Astarion lurched forward, feeling both men struggling to keep him in place. He felt the sharp tips of the wooden stakes break skin just enough to draw blood, but he powered through the fear that loomed over him.
âI will fucking kill you if you touch her!â
With a click of her tongue, Eyla sat next to you, one hand caressing your head as you spilled curses at her, still drained from whatever magic had been cast on you.
âYou'd be staked before you could even reach me, silly boy,â she said, revealing a knife from under her sleeve. âNow that I think about it, killing her seems the most reasonable choice here.â
You tried to flinch away from her grasp, and Astarion felt himself go mad from the sight in front of him.
He was about to scream when they muffled him with a piece of cloth, robbing him of his voice.
Reflexively, he tried to break free once more, but he was far too weak to put up a fight.
He knew it was futile, but he had abandoned all reason. Even though he had savoured blood, he was still too weak to break through the hold they had on him. Each pull from him and each attempt to break free were quickly met with an immovable force.
When his eyes met yours, he saw you mouth something.
And it broke him.
He didn't need to hear it.
He knew what you were attempting to say.
Thank you.
He doubted any torture Cazador had ever inflected on him could ever match the pain he was currently experiencing.
Eyla suddenly grabbed a vial from her robes, spilling the clear liquid along the sharp blade.
âIsn't it poetic justice that you are a master of poisons, and she gets to die at your hand?â
He recognised the vial as his.
It was his poison.
He couldn't tell which one, but it hardly mattered. Each poison he concocted was terrible through and through. They were designed to hurt and, ultimately, kill.
Soon, you began to sob, swirls of fire engulfing your hands as frustration gripped you. You were unable to get your magic under control and you were going to die.
For him.
Because of him.
Eyla threw him a final glance, positioning the top of the knife right across your neck. You stilled immediately, knowing any sudden movement could have the blade slice right through.
He tried to speak again, but all his words came out unintelligible.Â
âIf you scream, they'll stake you.â
Eagerly, he nodded, and they swiftly removed the cloth from in between his teeth.
âPlease. Don't!â Astarion said in sheer despair. âI will do whatever you want!â
She narrowed her eyes at him for a moment. âYou have nothing to offer us.â
He had to try.
He had to try to buy himself more time in the hopes that someone had heard him and mightÂ
âYou want eternal life, don't you?â
Silence. Dreadful and agonising silence.
âI can find a way to help you. There are other true vampires out there.â
Eyla tapped the side of her blade to your skin as she pondered his words. She then exchanged looks with both men.
âShould we take his offer?â
Had he made it? Had he managed to bluff his way out of this one? To possibly get you somewhere safe?
Hope.
Eyla lifted the poisonous blade and Astarion felt a crushing weight being lifted from him.
She locked eyes with him for what seemed like a lifetime.
Please. Please. Please.Â
Eyla clicked her tongue with a pout. âI don't think so.â
And he watched in horror as she moved her hand to swiftly bury the knife into your abdomen.
âNO!â
Astarion felt his body go limp as his field of vision got flooded with a golden and warm beam that tore through the night sky akin to how the sun breaks the dawn.Â
Thinking about yanderes who know you better than anyone ever did. They know you better even than you know yourself, that's how in touch they are with your life.
I see them as the subtle types, the ones who would perhaps silently admire you from a safe distance. You look charming in the cafe you're sitting in, chatting away with a friend or two about some shared hobbies. He can't help but to stare, but it's only for a few moments! He knows better than to look for too long, he doesn't want to appear like some sort of creep now, does he? He sips on his drink quietly as his eyes ever so slightly go back and forth towards you and the door, ensuring a safe escape route, just in case things go south but they never do.
You're too lost in your own little bubble to notice him.
From that day onwards he starts to... Well, he's not sure how to put it into words.
It's natural for a person to have a crush but what he feels towards you is something much more intense to ever be in the realms of normalcy. If you've ever spoken two words with him would be a miracle but actually remembering him would be downright impossible because he is just not willing to show himself to you. He stalks all your social media, friends and family included. He is informed of where you went to school, your birthday, what jobs your estranged cousins may have. If you're the type to post stuff online, his life is made that much easier. He screenshots everything you post, no matter how silly and commits it all to memory in case he may need it.
If you don't, then it's a bit harder but he manages. He has a good head on his shoulders, even if that same head is telling him to stop doing this, this isn't right but his bleeding heart is screaming at him to please keep going, please, if I'm not keeping an eye on them 24/7 I think I might die.
No human being should ever know someone so intimately but he does not care. Even if you're not 100% in his life, he is content with whatever this is.
One day, he might grow a pair and properly introduce himself to you.
And it would be so cute if you got along just perfectly because you just so happen to like the same things too... He's always prepared.
The Chase â Draco Malfoy (smut)
Since y'all seem to enjoy my Draco fics that have some rougher smut in them, I couldn't stop myself from writing this. Please like and reblog if you enjoyed reading this, your comments keep us writers motivated! Enjoy my loves. xxx
Summary: Draco has been feeling frustrated for days, something that finally changes as he tells his wife that he's ready to hunt her down and remind her who she belongs to. Basically pwp
Warnings: 18+, smut, piv, rough smut, tied wrists, dom!Draco, hide/seek, oral (f), some degrading
Pairing: Draco Malfoy x fem!wife!reader (1.8k words)
Her eyes were focused on her phone, while her heart was racing in her chest, pounding with a strong beat that whispered to her, urging (y/n) on to prepare for what her husband had just texted her. Draco had been in some kind of mood for the past days, a rather snappish mood she hadnât enjoyed being around, deciding to keep her distance while he worked through whatever he had struggles with at work. But the text she was now rereading for the tenth time told her that all the pent-up frustration would be left in the past after tonight.Â
âYou may run and hide from me, but tonight, Iâll catch you. xxxâÂ
Draco and her had done this a while back for the first time, letting him hunt her down before using her like a vessel for his frustration and anger, littering her body with marks sheâd trace in the midnight hour with a proud smirk. She loved the chase, the thrill shooting through her body while her adrenaline spiked.Â
(Y/n) knew that Draco would find her in no time, very well knowing that neither of them could go long without touching their significant other, especially when both were urged on by their frustration, their need and hunger for one another. She could already feel him buried deep inside of her, letting her walls clench around nothing at the mere thought of being fucked by her husband.Â
Perhaps heâd use their blindfold, perhaps heâd tie her to the bed, while fucking her from behind, whatever it was he was about to do to her, (y/n) would take it all with a satisfied grin, ready to offer every inch of trembling body to her husband like a sacrifice.Â
Tonight sheâd let him play, tonight sheâd let him win their chase â very well knowing that whatever heâd do to her would be her greatest win after all.
âŠâŠ
âHoney, Iâm home!â Dracoâs voice echoed through their house, ringing in her ears as she hid beneath their bed. It wasnât a creative hiding spot, and yet it was the perfect place for them, knowing heâd find (y/n) in no time, to fuck her rough like she knew he would.
The sound of his feet meeting the wooden ground made her breath hitch in her chest, while picturing the suit perfectly clinging to his frame, with the first few buttons of his shirt undone, and how he was wearing his blonde hair slightly gelled back â a sight that would make her fawn over her handsome husband.Â
âWhere are you hiding, pretty girl?â She heard Draco step into the room next door, opening their dresser, and closing it again after a few more seconds. (Y/n) counted the passing by seconds, letting the numbers echo through her mind while Draco kept taking his time, stepping into their bathroom for a few seconds.Â
âI canât wait to fuck your tight cunt, while you scream my name, itâs the only thing I could think of today.â Dracoâs voice dripped with something dark, something that drew a soft moan from her while she stayed hidden. His feet came into view as he entered the bedroom and closed the door behind himself, seemingly all too aware that she was hiding close by.Â
âFuck, honey, I will make you tremble, make you forget your name while you take my cock like you were made to do.â Without another warning he crouched down to reach for her, pulling (y/n) from her hiding spot with a satisfied grin. She barely got any time to understand what her husband was doing as he picked her up and threw her down on the bed.Â
(Y/n)âs gasps echoed through the bedroom as she stared up at Draco, focusing on the smirk he wore, paired with that dark gaze that pushed heat straight to her pulsing bundle. Draco settled between her naked legs, only wearing a shirt of his and her already damp panties, to reach down and kiss her breathless.Â
It had been days since he had touched her, let alone kissed her like this, a teeth clashing kiss that made their hearts race and their limbs tingle. Her fingers found their way to his blonde hair to tug on his roots, trying to pull her husband even closer while he shifted his weight onto his right hand as his other hand reached for their bedside table.Â
âGive me your hands, pretty girl.â He murmured the words against her already swollen lips. (Y/n) wanted to protest, wanted to beg him not to tie her to her bed, but the warning gaze he shot her left her breathless, unable to speak a single word. Draco gently took her wrists to tie them to the cold metallic frame of their bed with the dark green rope he enjoyed using on her. âSuch a pretty sight, but I think weâll have to get rid of that shirt, I want to see all of you.â
âDraco,â the warning tone dripping from her voice left Draco chuckling as he reached for the small knife they used whenever they were high on the thrill, staring at one another while heâd trace her skin with the knife. All (y/n) could do was tug on the rope as he sliced the fabric of his shirt apart, exposing her naked upper body to his twinkling eyes.
âFuck, look at you, baby.â His head dipped down to press a kiss to the valley between her breasts before his hand dropped the knife to cup her right one. She was a moaning mess, choking on her sounds while he pressed his middle against hers, letting (y/n) feel his hardening cock.Â
âFuck me, Draco, please, itâs been so long.â He spared her words no attention while he sucked on her hardening nubs, drawing gritty sounds from (y/n) â sounds that made his cock twitch in his suit trousers. Draco gave himself a few more moments to suck marks into her skin before he finally let his hands find her panties to move them down her legs.
The two held eye contact as he rose to his feet, while staring down at her to slowly undress himself. Draco was teasing her, enjoying the desperation tugging on (y/n)âs features while she watched him, unable to touch her husband. His shirt was dropped to the floor as his hands began to work on his belt and finally on his trousers and underwear to expose his hard cock to her wandering eyes.Â
Precum was glistening on his tip as Draco slowly stroked himself, giving (y/n) a show as she could only tug on the rope and try to shuffle closer to him. She was impatient, burning from inside out, all because he made her feel this whirlwind of emotions, high on whatever heâd offer his wife.Â
âSpread your legs for me, baby, show me how much you need me.â Her body blindly followed the command. She spread her legs for his bright eyes, letting him take in the sight of her arousal-covered folds, of her pulsing bundle, and the beautiful skin heâd kiss any moment now. Draco moved slowly, calculated as if he had thought of this strategy for hours on end, trying to figure out the best way to make her tremble in need.Â
Their eyes kept searching on another, Draco settled back between her legs to let his tongue brush through her slit, moaning at the taste of her arousal. Both knew they wouldnât be able to drag this out for much longer, needing to feel one another in the most intimate way imaginable. His tongue moved fast, brushing over her clit to draw a loud moan from (y/n) while she arched her back off the mattress.Â
âOh god, âmissed you so much.â (Y/n) mumbled her words, confessions that left Draco smiling against her naked cunt. His bright eyes intently studied her, while he pushed two fingers into her tightness, spreading her walls to prepare her for his twitching cock. He allowed himself to fuck her for a moment or two before finally pulling away from her, set on pushing her over the edge with his aching cock buried deep inside of her.Â
âYouâll take my cock like the good girl you are, and then I may allow you to touch me.â His words echoed through her mind, a small distraction for a second or two as Draco aligned himself with her heat, only to push into her as she nodded her head. Both moaned in unison at the familiar sensation, already high on the feeling of her tight walls clenching his cock, begging him to fuck her into oblivion.Â
The rope burned into (y/n)âs skin as she kept tugging on it, praying to whoever was listening that sheâd be able to feel him soon enough. Draco fucked her without holding back, letting his body meet hers with every ferocious thrust that left both moaning, choking on the sweetest sounds clawing through them.Â
âFuck, I love you, my perfect girl.â Dracoâs words dripped with arousal, with a hunger that made the inferno burning deep inside of her grow, threatening to leave marks with its heat â marks that may never fade again. Her walls fluttered around his cock as his thumb found her clit, offering the extra stimulation she desperately needed. Â
âLet me touch you, please.â (Y/n) whispered her words with wide eyes and parted lips, hoping that her husband would finally give in. It took Draco a few more thrusts before he followed the call and tugged on the rope, letting it drop to the mattress while her hands instantly found his face, pulling him in for a kiss.Â
Their tongues fought for victory while Draco fucked her closer to the edge, making her see stars whenever he met her swollen spot. Her hands found their way down his neck to his shoulders, letting her fingernails scratch his skin to draw groans from him, and finally letting them claw into his skin to draw some blood.Â
âCum for me, baby, clench my cock while you scream my name.â He marvelled at (y/n) as she came, letting her head roll back to expose her throat to his wandering lips. Draco left his marks on her throat as he fucked her through her high, only following her down the edge as she panted his name again, like a prayer leaving her soft lips.Â
âDonât ever go that long without touching me, do you hear me?â (Y/n) whispered her words as he rested on her chest, letting them both of them relax as the sweet sensation clung to them, reminding them of one anotherâs love.Â
âI promise, even though this was fucking worth it.â
âOh come y/n, for old timeâs sake, do it for me, alright?â You clicked your tongue, not even looking at the individual who was talking to you, back facing to them with your arms crossed, âI wonât do it, I told you already.â A moment of silence, before they sighed and closed the distance between you two, âwhy wonât you take that role?â
âMr. Reca, will you please respect my choices?â Suddenly you turned around and raised your voice, seeing him lean against the couch in the middle of the room, wearing a fading smile. âI need you for that role, thereâs no one else who can take it.â He repeated once again, then continued with, âand I wonât leave until Iâve convinced you, or, if you gave me a reason for your decision.â You slammed one hand onto the makeup table in front of you, putting the other against your forehead. âIf I gave you a reason, youâll have hope, and keep trying.â
The male kept quite, he couldnât argue with that one, âif it because of the writing? Or the personality of the character?â You shook your head, âno, none of that. Donât bother me any further, Reca, donât let our friendship go to waste because of some measly dispute.â He scoffed, grinning widely, throwing his head back in a defeated stance, âIâve already got sponsors and began the preparations, I canât go back now. Y/n, help me out, I donât want to end up as minced meat.â
You chuckled, answering his plead with a sarcastic smile, âitâs your own fault. Donât worry, I can introduce you to some actors.â Reca looked down to his feet, taking a deep breath, exhaling, before staring you in the eyes, âno, I still want you, and I wonât have it any other way.â After debating for so long, you thought heâd finally crave in, though it seems you underestimated his resolve. âReca, i-â âyea yea, you donât want to, got it. So, what can I do to convince you?â
Your eyes widened at that, it took you a while to compose yourself, âwow, your resolve is admirable, but I donât think Iâll fold.â The brunette stepped away from the couch, getting closer to you, mumbling, âdonât be shy now~ you can request whatever you want. A deal, of some kind, what do you think?â Itâd be a lie to say you werenât intrigued, just how far could you push his buttons, you wondered. âWhatever?â You repeated his words in a questioning tone.
âWhatever.â
âDo your movies mean more to you than your life?â You joked, shaking your head in disbelieve. âLetâs see what I can make you do.â His eyes lit up, his usual cheerfulness returned, âso you agree? Haha! You have my gratitude, y/n! Aeons, lemme kiss you.â Out of nowhere he hugged you and kissed you on the cheeks, both sides, before taking a few steps back. You on the other hand froze, blinking a few times, remembering his eccentric tendencies, then gagging out a, âdonât thank me- itâs a mutual deal.â
âRight, that reminds me, got any idea what you want?â Reca smirked again, he was in a usually good mood now. âIâll just have you as my pet.â You eventually said, then you specified your statement, âah, and Iâll only cooperate as long as you are my pet.â When you looked over at him again, his mouth hung agape, red eyes shrunk a little while he stood there like a statue. ââŠyou are joking.â He asked carefully. âIâm not.â
An awkward silence broke out once more, luckily he broke the ice after a few seconds, though it was done with a condescending comment, âRight, you were an eccentric like that.â A breathy laugh escape you, âhah, says who?â You two kept eye contact for a while, then he gave up and hide his face in his hand, groaning, âurghhhhhhh.â A faint blush covered his ears, and probably his cheeks as well.
âSo?â You questioned, wondering if that was too much for him. âWhat? Of course i agree.â Reca frowned, an embarrassed scorn on his face, why were you so nonchalant about all of this? After getting his consent, you couldnât help but sigh, âYou really are a slave to your production.â He grinned again, winking at you, âArenât we all slaves to our desires?â
You thought about it, opening the drawer of the furniture behind you, taking something out before taking a few steps closer to the rather tall male in front of you. âYea, you are right, itâs a part of being human I guess.â Then you wrapped the leather around his neck, pulling gently, tightening it. When you were done, you raised his chin, teasing him with a hint of irony, âdonât take it off, itâs a gift from me, your master.â His breathing hitched, but he didnât back down, feeling the weight of the situation finally catching up to him.
âIâm sure the movie will turn out great, all thanks to you.â He then stated, rubbing the collar around his neck, feeling a weird sense of comfort inside him. You nodded, âof course it will, I donât tolerate failures.â Reca laughed softly, then whispered meekly, âright. For that, Iâll be a good pet in return, master.â
The afternoon air was cool as you make your way across campus, the sun lazily sinking behind the student center.
You're walking to Getoâs shared apartment to finish the last details of your end-of-semester presentation for your public health class.
You werenât nervousâafter weeks of working on the project, things were going smoothly. Especially with Geto, who you'd surprisingly clicked with.
He turned out to be surprisingly down-to-earth for a business major.
As you approach the apartment complex, the brunette's warning from earlier in the week echoes in your mind.
âYouâll probably meet my roommate at some point,â he had said, scratching the back of his neck. âJust... heads up. Gojoâs a bit much. He thinks everyone falls in love with him, so donât be surprised if heââ
You waved him off, laughing it off at the time. A guy with a reputation for being cocky wasnât exactly news.
Youâd dealt with enough overconfident people before, and you werenât about to let someone like Gojo get under your skin.
The door swings open before you can even knock, revealing Geto standing there dressed casually in a hoodie and joggers.
His dark hair pulled back in its usual neat bun as he gave you a small smile, stepping aside to let you in.
"Hey, come on in," he said, his voice smooth as usual. The apartment smelled faintly clean and expensiveâprobably whatever brand of cologne they both wore.
It was neat and minimal, with modern furniture and just enough personality to show that two guys lived here but werenât obsessed with keeping it pristine.
As you dropped your backpack onto the table and prepared to dive into your notes, footsteps stomp down the hall.
You glance at Geto who released as if he knew what was coming.
âYo, Suguru!â A voice loudly rang before the person even appeared. âYou got any moreââ
The moment he stepped into the room, his sentence stops once his gaze locks on you.
Tall and broad-shouldered, dressed in sweatpants that slung low on his hips and a t-shirt clinging to his lean frameâGojo Satoru had a presence of someone who was used to being noticed.
His white hair was an unruly mess, and his blue eyes gleamed with immediate interest as he took you in.
âWell, well, what do we have here?â his voice had a teasing tone as he casually leaned against the doorframe with crossed arms.
There it wasâthe swagger, the cocky smirk, the way he took his sweet time taking you in. You could hear Getoâs silent groan beside you.
Gojo didnât stop there.
"So..." He stepped forward, sliding his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants as he made his way around the couch. âYouâre the one making Suguru's grades look good, huh? Damn, he didnât tell me you'd be this cute tho."
His voice is smoothâalmost too smooth. You couldnât help the slight snort that escaped before you caught yourself.Â
Clearly this isn't the first time he's tried to charm someone within five seconds of meeting them.
Itâs like heâs on autopilot, throwing out compliments without a second thought as if he's sure they'll land. Maybe they did.
"Cute huh?" you replied, voice flat but not unfriendly. âUnfortunately for him, Iâm just here for the project. Not to boost anyoneâs grades.â
Gojoâs grin didnât falterâif anything it widened, like he had just been given a new challenge.
He stepped closer, leaning against the back of the couch now, his eyes never leaving yours.
âOh, I get it,â his tone dips slightly, lowering his voice he as if letting you in on a secret. âYouâve heard about me, havenât you? Thatâs why youâre playing hard to get.â
You glanced at Geto, who was already flipping through his textbook as if to distance himself from the unfolding situation. Gee, thanks.
Rolling your eyes, you turn back at Gojo with an unimpressed look.Â
âIâve heard of you,â you admit, your tone dry. âBut itâs nothing I havenât seen before. You can save the charm for someone else.â
His smirk falters for just a second, you see a flicker within his eyesâsurprise maybe? Amusement? Whatever it was, it vanishes as quick as it had appeared.
Thereâs a spark of challenge in his gaze now. He straightens up tilting his head playfully.
âCold, huh?â Gojo chuckled softly. âI like that about you.â
You scoff, more amused than annoyed.
Geto, sensing the moment had stretched on long enough, finally spoke up. âSheâs not interested man,â he says, tone casual with a hint of warning. âAnd weâve got work to do, so...â
Gojo wasnât fazed. He just laughed again, raising his hands in mock surrender. âAlright, alright. Iâm just being friendly. Donât mind me.â
But of course he doesnât leave.
Instead he moves around to the opposite side of the table, grabbing a snack from the counter as he watches the two of you work.
Every now and then, you could feel his gaze flicker in your directionâlingering just long enough for you to notice.
You sighed. This guy was going to be a problem.
After a few minutes of him loitering in the kitchen, Gojo finally tossed the empty snack wrapper into the trash and pushed off from the counter.
âThink Imma leave you two nerds at it. But hey,ââ he pauses his trek down the hall, voice lowering just slightly as he gives you one last look. âDonât be a stranger, kay?â
You didnât respond, just waving him off to focusing back on your laptop. Only once you heard his bedroom door click shut did you let out the breath you hadnât realized you were holding.
Geto glanced up at you, the barest hint of a smile on his face. âTold you he was a bit much.â
You snort with a shake of your head. âA bit?â
As much as you tried to shrug it off, you had a feeling this wouldnât be the last time you crossed paths with him.
Though you didn't worry too much, you had no time for guys like Gojoâno matter how much money he had or how attractive he might be.
'He can try all he wants'Â , you think as your fingers fly over the keyboard. 'But Iâm not interested.'
ââââââââââââââââ*.·:·.âœâ§ ⊠â§âŸ.·:·.*âââââââââââââââââ
The days after your first encounter with Gojo Satoru felt like a game of cat-and-mouse.
No matter where you went on campus, it seemed like Gojo wasnât far behindâsliding into your space with a smug grin like he belonged there.
You hadnât expected him to be so relentless, especially after you shut him down at their apartment. If anything, it seemed to motivate him more.
He seemed to thrive on the challenge of someone not immediately falling for his charm. And Gojo wasnât subtle about it.
Not at all.
You had left lecture hall and went to the courtyard to review your notes when a familiar presence loomed next to you.
You didnât even need to look up to know who it wasâthere was an energy about Gojo that was impossible to ignore.
âHey, stranger,â he greeted smoothly in that teasing voice that had (unfortunately) started to become annoyingly familiar.
He dropped into the seat next to you, long legs stretched out as if he owned the place.
Without sparing a glance you sighed. âPretty sure I told you Iâm not interested,â you replied, tone flat as your eyes remained glued to your notes.
You didnât have to see his face to know he was smiling. He chuckled, leaning back in his chair like he had all the time in the world. âInterested in what? Iâm just sitting here. Coulda sworn itâs a free campus...â
You shot him a sideways look. He was grinningâof course he wasâand that lazy confidence radiated off him like heat.
His nonchalance was infuriating, but at the same time there was something undeniably charming about it.
You'd heard (and even witnessed) a few stories about Gojo Satoruâthe endless flings, the parties, the girls who lined up for a shot with him
And yet here he was, fixated on you.
It didnât make sense. You werenât falling for his charm but he still kept coming back for more.
âIâm not buying it,â you muttered, finally turning to face him. âI know your type. Youâre used to getting whatever you want.â
His grin widened as he leaned in, his eyes dropping to your lips. âNot everything, apparently.â
Your heart did a little flip at that, but you pushed the feeling down with a roll of your eyes.
There was no way you were going to let him get to you, no matter how persistent he was.
*.·:·.âœâ§â§âŸ.·:·.*
It didnât stop there.
That same evening as you walked from the library, your phone buzzed, a notification lighting up your screen.
Snapchat: Gojo Satoru has added you.
Of course he did.
With a resigned sigh you unlock the phone with half a mind to leave him on read. But curiosity got the better of you, and you tapped the notification.
A message popped up almost instantly.
Gojo:Â Saw you at the library today. Looking cute, as usual.
You couldnât help the soft scoff that escaped you. Another message followed quickly after:
Gojo:Â We should hang sometime. I know a place that does the best sushi. My treat.
He really wasnât going to give up, was he? Your fingers hover over the keyboard before you shot back a quick response:
You:Â Not interested.
But as soon as you sent it, another message from him appearedâalmost like he had been waiting for it.
Gojo:Â Lol, sure. You keep saying that, but I know youâll come around ;)
You locked your phone with a huff, shoving it back into your bag as you continued your walk to the dorms.
It was irritating how effortlessly confident he was, like he already knew the outcome before you did.Â
And the worst part? There was a tiny part of youâthe smallest flickerâthat couldnât help but anticipate the next encounter.
ââââââââââââââââ*.·:·.âœâ§ ⊠â§âŸ.·:·.*âââââââââââââââââ
And yet it wasnât just over text. No matter where you went, Gojo found a way to insert himself into your day.
Whether it was him casually appearing in the food court while you grabbed lunch or running into him on the way to class, he was everywhere.
Like today for example: you were sitting just outside the university center, enjoying a rare quiet moment between classes as you listened to music.
The peace didnât last long.
Gojo dropped down into the seat beside you without a word, plucking one of your earbuds out of your ear before you had a chance to stop him.
âWhatâre we listening to today?â he asked, popping the earbud into his ear without waiting for permission. He nodded along to the song, grinning in that infuriatingly charming way. âNot bad. Youâve got taste.â
You snatched the earbud back with a glare. âEver heard of boundaries?â
âSure,â Gojo replied, leaning back casually, completely unfazed. âBut whereâs the fun in that?â
He was closeâtoo closeâand you could feel the heat radiating off him as he shifted in his seat, his knee brushing lightly against yours.
It sent a shiver up your spine, and you hated how he seemed to sense it.
âIâve been meaning to ask...â His voice dropped slightly, almost conspiratorial. âI know you like Chanel right? I saw you eyeing that bag at the mall last week.â
You froze for a second, caught off guard. How the hell did he know that? You hadnât even noticed him there, mustâve seen you there by coincidence
You try to brush it off, muttering, âJust looking. Donât have money for stuff like that.â
Gojo flashed you a softer grin, one that almost looked genuineâif it wasnât for the cocky undertone beneath it.
âGood thing youâve got me then,â he said, voice smooth and tempting. âI could get it for you. Whatever you want, itâs yours.â
You stared at him for a moment, the offer hanging in the air between you. You eyes hardened.
You werenât some girl who could be bought off with expensive gifts. You werenât like the girls who chased him at parties or slid into his DMs, hoping for a piece of his attention.
âNo thanks,â you said sharply.. âIâm not one of those girls you can buy off, Gojo.â
For a brief moment his expression faltered. But just as quickly the mask of confidence slipped back into place.
âDidnât say you were. Just offering.,â he replied, that playful edge returning to his tone. âDoesnât hurt to spoil someone every now and then, right?â
You turn away refusing to engage any further. Though you couldn't stop the flutter in your chest, heart beating a little too fast for your liking.
There was a small part of youâthe part that liked nice things and had never really been able to afford themâthat was tempted.
But you knew better. You werenât going to fall for it.
You had worked too hard for everything in your life to let someone like Gojo sweep in and make you forget who you were.
ââââââââââââââââ*.·:·.âœâ§ ⊠â§âŸ.·:·.*âââââââââââââââââ
You were in the library one afternoon, hunched over your notes trying to finish an assignment when you felt a familiar presence looming over you.
Without even looking up you sighed. âI already told you, Iâm not interested.â
Gojo chuckled as he slid into the chair across from you, completely ignoring your dismissal. âYou keep saying that, but youâre still talking to me.â
You sent a glare. He wasnât wrongâyou hadnât exactly cut him off.
Despite your best efforts, Gojo managed to worm his way into your life. And the worst part?
A tiny part of you was starting to enjoy it.
âMaybe Iâm just waiting for you to get bored and move on,â you shot back lacking the conviction you wanted.
Gojoâs eyes glinted with amusement. âYouâre different,â he said after a moment, his voice quieter. âI like that about you.â
For a second you were caught off guard. But you didnât have time to dwell on it.
Because just as quickly, he was back to his usual self, winking as he leaned back.
âDonât worry,â he added, his voice laced with playful confidence. âIâm not going anywhere.â
You werenât sure if you wanted him to.
ââââââââââââââââ*.·:·.âœâ§ ⊠â§âŸ.·:·.*âââââââââââââââââ
The party was in full swing by the time you arrived; music pounded through the packed house as people danced, drank, and shouted over the blaring bass.
You had been invited by Geto, the calm and collected male becoming more of a close friend than just a project partner.
Despite the promise you made to yourself to avoid parties like this, you figured it would be a nice way to let loose for once. Finals were near and honestly, you needed the distraction.
You had been doing a pretty good job of avoiding Gojo for the past few days. His persistent flirting, his smug confidenceâit was all too much.
But tonight wasnât about him. Tonight you were determined to just have a good time.
It didnât take long for you to fall into the rhythm of the party.
You found yourself chatting with a guy you vaguely recognized from one of your classes away from the chaos of the dance floor.
He was cuteânice smile, easygoingâand for once, you let yourself enjoy the conversation.
Just as you started relax you caught a flicker of movement out of the corner of your eye. It was subtle at first, but enough to make you pause.
And then, there he wasâGojo Satoru.
He spotted you almost immediately, those familiar blue eyes locking onto you through the crowd.
His expression was unreadable for a moment, but as soon as he saw the guy standing next to you, his jaw tightened just slightly.
He didnât bother hiding his irritation, but the way he handled it threw you off. Instead of marching over, Gojo leaned against the wall across the room, watching.
The beat of Skilla Baby's Mama thumped through the speakers, the lyrics booming across the house. As the chorus hit, Gojoâs eyes never left yours.
He didnât approach yet, but his gaze was electric.
And when the lyrics cameââYeah, I heard you got a man, but it's alright, mama (alright),ââhe gave a nod, almost as if confirming what you already knew.
He tilted his head back slightly, mouthing the words to the chorus:Â âBae, you know you the coldest.â
You felt heat creep up your neck in response. Gojo didnât have to say anythingâhis meaning was clear. He wasnât just here to win you over anymore.
He was here to make sure you understood no one else could compete with him. No one else could treat you like he could.
And thatâs when he started moving.
Without missing a beat, Gojo strolled through the crowd like he owned the place (in a way he kind of did), making a beeline for you.Â
The guy youâd been talking to didnât even notice, but you sure did. The closer Gojo got, the more the tension thickened until it felt like you were holding your breath.
You hated how your body reacted to his presence, the way your pulse quickened the second he was close.
âHey,â he greeted, smooth as ever with an edge to it that wasnât there before. He didnât even spare the other guy a glance, all his focus on you. âEnjoying the party?â
Your grip tightened around your drink in attempt to steady yourself. âYeah, I was.âÂ
Gojoâs smile didnât quite reach his eyes as he glanced at the guy again, finally acknowledging him.
âSure, but...â He leaned in. âCâmon, you really gonna waste time with him when you know I could treat you right?â
You didnât look at him right away, hoping the guy next to you would step back in and restart the conversation. But it was too late.
Gojoâs presence had already made him uncomfortable. And before you knew it, the guy mumbled about getting another drink before disappearing into the crowd.
You shot him a look. âReally?â
Gojo just shrugged, the faintest smirk pulling at the corners of his lips. âWhat? You seemed bored. Figured Iâd help you out.â
âYou mean chase him off?â
He stepped closer, and this time, there was no one between you.
âCâmon,â Gojo murmured. âYou know he wasnât your type.â His voice was low, but not in that typical teasing tone.
This time, there was something elseâsomething more serious.
Your heart thudded as his words lingered in the air. The bass-heavy song continued to pulse through the room, but it felt like the rest of the party had melted away.
It was just you and Gojo now, the tension building with every passing second. And he knew it.
âI donât know what youâre trying to prove,â you said, crossing your arms over your chest, though it was more to stop yourself from reaching out than anything else. âIâm not interested in being some kind of prize for you to win.â
Gojoâs expression softened, though his eyes still held that playful glint.
He stepped even closer, his voice dropping just above a whisper. âIâm not trying to win a prize. Iâm trying to get to know you.â
You blinked at the sudden shift in his tone. It wasnât like him to be this direct.
âI donât believe you,â you said, though your voice lacked the bite you wanted it to have.
Gojoâs gaze softened even more, and he reached out, fingers brushing against your arm.
âI get it. You think Iâm just here flirting. But youâre different, and I...â He hesitated, searching for the right words. âI like that you make me work for it.â
Your breath caught, the sincerity in his voice catching you completely off guard.
Gojo Satoru, the guy who never had to try for anything, was standing here before you, confessing he was willing to put in the effort.
The weight of it settled over you as you began to see him differentlyânot just as the arrogant flirt, but as someone who was starting to care.
He mustâve seen the hesitation in your eyes because he smiled softly, the cockiness from earlier melting into something warmer.
âLook, I know I can be... a lot.â He chuckled with a nervous scratch at the back of his neck. âBut Iâm not going anywhere, okay? Iâm serious about you.â
The music continued to thump around you, but it felt distant now. You werenât sure what to say.
Part of you wanted to believe him. But the other partâthe one that had built walls around itselfâwas still afraid to let him in.
âLook...you wanna get out of here?â he didnât sound as flippant as usual. âI can walk you home.â
Though you were unsure, the way he was looking at you right now that told you this wasnât about a quick fling or proving a point.
For once, Gojo wasnât trying to win. He was just trying.
You nodded before you could stop yourself. âOkay.â
*.·:·.âœâ§â§âŸ.·:·.*
The walk back to your place was quiet, the night air cool against your skin as the sounds of the party faded into the distance.
Gojo stayed close, but not too close, his usual bravado tempered.
Every now and then his shoulder would brush against yours, and the touch was grounding, almost reassuring.
For once he wasnât trying to impress you with flashy words or grand gestures. He was just there, walking next to you in comfortable silence.
When you finally reached your door you expected some kind of last-minute line, flirty and smooth to cap off the night. But Gojo surprised you.
âI meant what I said earlier,â he began, leaning against the doorframe as he looked down at you. âYouâre different. Youâre not like the others.â
You gave him a skeptical look, but he shook his head before you could say anything.
âIâm serious. Iâve never had to work this hard for anyone,â Gojo admitted. âAnd... I like that. You donât care about any of the stuff most people do.â
There was a sincerity that made your heart skip a beat. He was letting his guard down, just a little, but it was enough to make you pause.
You didnât know what to say at first, the usual walls youâd built around yourself trembling.
âA-and I know you think I'm saying this just to get in your pants or whatever,â Gojo interrupts before you can say anything, âbut... itâs more than that. I like you. For real.â
You looked at him, really looked at him.
There was something real beneath it all and it scared you a little, because part of you had already started to fall for himâno matter how much you tried to fight it.
So instead of pulling away, you stepped closer.
âIâm still not convinced,â you say with a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. âBut...maybe Iâm willing to see where this goes.â
Gojoâs grin returned in full force, eyes lighting up with hope as he nodded. âThatâs all I ask.â
He turned to leave, but before he did, he glanced back over his shoulder, playful grin returning. âIâll see you tomorrow, right?â
You rolled your eyes but couldnât help the warmth spreading through your chest. âYeah, yeah. Iâll see you.â
The next morning, as you left class, you werenât surprised to see Gojo standing outside with a smile.
Without a word, he fell in step beside you and handed over a cup of [beverage].
It wasnât extravagant or flashy, just a simple cup of [beverage]âwas exactly how you liked it.
You raised an eyebrow at him, taking a sip. âThis is new.â
Gojo shrugged, his smile easy and warm. âTold you Iâd convince you.â
You shook your head. Maybe, just maybe, Gojo Satoru wasnât so bad after all.
And for the first time, you let yourself smile back.
In the spotlight · Leah Williamson
Summary: you're attending an event with your girlfriend, hoping to be able to keep your relationship hidden but tipsy leah flips the whole script (chaotic/cute leah w/ special appearances of alessia and katie)
MASTERLIST
You had been officially dating Leah for a while now. The both of you decided to keep your relationship on the low, not wanting to draw any attention to yourselves. You realized Leah had to deal with enough already and didnât want to add any more stress to her life. Leah didnât see it that way, she felt like she had to protect you from the outside world, or more so, the media world. She knew how cruel they could be, and she could never do that to your precious heart. Most of her teammates knew about you two and had immediately welcomed you with open arms. They treated you like you were one of theirs and Leah was so grateful for that.
You were getting ready in your shared hotel room. The Arsenal team had an event tonight and the girls had begged you to come along with them. They repeatedly assured you no one would be bothering you. You had your doubts at first, afraid to put too much pressure on Leah. You didnât want to send her any mixed signals of you wanting to make your relationship public. Youâd love to, of course, just imagining you two going out not worrying about anyone taking pictures sounds incredible. But you were protecting each other, so this was the right thing to do.
Leah had entered the hotel room, her eyes lighting up as she saw you getting ready. A warm smile was plastered on her face, taking in the outfit you were wearing. She stepped closer, wrapped her arms around you from behind and placed a gentle kiss on your cheek, careful of her tinted lip gloss  leaving any marks on your skin. ââYou look amazing, love.ââ She said. You turned around and chuckled, growing shy under her gaze. ââThank you, youâre not so bad yourselfââ Was what you replied. It was true, she looked great.
ââThe girls are so happy youâre here.ââ She grinned. You knew they were, you had received multiple messages from them saying how theyâve missed you. The nerves started to grow as time went by and Leah couldnât help but notice your forced smile, the internal struggle was evident on your face. She tilted her head, grin disappearing as she realized she mightâve missed something. ââAre you sure youâre up for the event tonight?ââ She began and placed a hand your cheek. You leaned into her warm touch and let out a small sigh. ââIf youâre not comfortable, we can stay in. Itâs okay, you know.ââ The blonde tried to reassure you, concern visible in her features.
You appreciated her understanding but shook your head. ââNo, I really want to be there. Iâm just a bit stressed, but it's fineââ Leahâs eyes softened, and held your gaze. ââYou donât have to worry about anything, youâve got me. The girls will be making sure no one bothers us.ââ She replied and gave a smile, making her dimples appear. ââYouâre right.ââ Leah had calmed your nerves down, but you still mentally prepared yourself for the worst to happen. ââWeâre leaving in about 5 minutes.ââ She announced after taking a look on her watch.
As you quickly finished getting ready, there was this sense of anticipation in the air. You headed to the elevators, hand in hand, and shared a tight embrace before meeting the girls downstairs. There was a small distance between you two while you were greeting everyone, not quite sure if there were any cameraâs around.
Once at the event, you found yourself relaxing. You catched up with some of Leahâs teammates and shared photos of whatever youâve been doing in your free time. Leah had tried to get close to you, aware of the cameraâs that were flashing every now and then. Beth and Viv were happy to cover you guys while your lover tried to hold your hand. It resulted in you two intertwining your pinkies. You noticed how she tried to make you feel comfortable throughout the night, including you in every conversation she was having. But then, suddenly, glasses of champagne were getting served. You quietly warned Leah to be careful and the only thing she replied was ââIâm a responsible adult, no need to worry.ââ But you did. You were worried because you knew it only took two glasses for her to get tipsy.
You were sat next to Alessia, both of you started to become a bit tired. Everyone was doing their own thing now, your girlfriend had left your sight about half an hour ago. Alex wanted to introduce her to some of the people that were attending the event. Leah repeatedly apologized before leaving you, squeezing your hand. ââOh, shit.ââ Alessia mumbled, her blue eyes wide open. You were about to ask her whatâs wrong, but you didnât need to, a finger already pointing at the cause of her reaction.
ââBabe!ââ You heard a certain blonde scream loudly, arms spread wide open. Your eyes met a happy, tipsy, Leah. Her hair looked messier than when you had left the hotel, and her lip gloss was basically gone at this point. You saw a few guests look your way. Alessia tried to hush her teammate but that resulted in her getting a little shove. ââWhat? I missed my girl.ââ Leah exclaimed, completely ignoring the warnings. ââHey, Lee. Thereâs no need to scream.ââ You nervously said, becoming a bit uncomfortable because of the attention you were getting. Leah finally sat down and rested her head on your shoulder before nuzzling her face in your neck, leaving a small kiss. ââHave I already said how amazing you look tonight?ââ She mumbled, playing with one of the rings on your fingers.
You were a nervous wreck at this point, scared that tonight would be the night your secret would be discovered. ââYes, honey. You did.ââ You answered, giving her a little nudge which made her lean even more into your body. Alessia couldnât help but laugh at you two, calling over Katie to take care of the situation. And she did. Katie dragged Leah by the hand, leaving the seat next to you empty again. Your girlfriend groaned at the sudden movement, scolding the Irish player for tugging her so hard. To be fair, it was an amusing sight to see.
ââI love you!ââ Leah basically shouted while pointing at you, leaving your sight for the second time tonight. Â She blew you a kiss before disappearing into the crowd, making you hide your face in your hands. ââSheâs a mess.ââ Alessia sighed, making you nod in agreement. You felt her pat your back sympathetically, ââDonât worry about anyone taking photos of you, weâll let McCabe handle that.ââ You chuckled, knowing deep down that the Irish woman would manage to erase any evidence of your relationship.
