Charlie: *parental issues on both sides, places her self value on what she can do for others instead of thinking about herself, has a desperate desire to make her dreams come true and prove to everyone in her life that her wants are possible, had all her ideas rejected by literally everyone except her gf, and most definitely has repressed rage issues due to facing constant rejection and isolation from people who are supposed to respect her (daughter of Pride etc etc)*

Vaggie: *traumatised ex soldier who was only valued by her ability to kill, suffering permanent disfigurement for a single act of mercy/hesitation, having her entire world flipped upside down by having to adapt to living in a realm she used to slaughter people in, and then realising there are some people in said realm who are actually decent, feeling the need to redeem her past actions by helping and protecting the one person who greeted her with heart and kindness and thinking without that duty she has no worth, also likely has anger issues*
