RAFAYEL is your typical babygirl racer man. I swear this is an entire sub population of F1 racers and I love them. ZAYNE is actually kind of a mystery man. He bursts onto the scene with immediate top 3 finishes in all the big races but never takes off his helmet. He’s always calm and only ever really gives a small thumbs up to cameras and nothing more. The mask kink crazies (me) are going feral over this man. His jumpsuit shows off his muscle and his voice is absurdly deep, bro has it all. When he does finally take off his helmet, it’s due to a crash and cracked helmet. The medical team needs to check his head so he has to remove it. He starts trending on twitter after that day. No wonder he hid his face this whole time. If you’re his partner he’d definitely tell you that he only wanted you to see him without the mask. He treats you like a princess, publicly escorting you places and always holding your hand. You cheer him on from the VIP suite at every single race.

XAVIER has been the longest standing champion despite all the hate. Of course he has a lot of fans as well but being in the spotlight so much naturally brings negativity. He purposely acts aloof and stupid to piss off his haters more when he inevitably wins the world cup. Those who really know him though are fully aware that he’s just acting. He’s unbelievably good at the sport and he does it all without breaking a sweat (not literally, like he actually sweats a lot LOL). There's definitely compilations of him breaking character during interviews where he actually says something intelligent or when he accidentally rizzes up his interviewer. If you two were dating it would probably just be a really sweet relationship that all his fans adore. Even the haters would probably think you’re pretty or be jealous. He tried to shield you from bad press and you think it's so cute he cares about you instead of himself in these situations. You of course do all you can to prevent paparazzi from getting to him too but he'll still kiss you in front of them.

Imagine Fucking Up Your Potions L.

(Kind of a shitpost)

Tw: brief mention of murder. Not much except Chrollo wanting to constantly touch MC

Imagine Chrollo happened to run into a goofy enemy who decided to throw a potion at him. Well, this enemy fucked up and threw the completely wrong potion. That's right a love potion.

But the effects don't show right away, so Chrollo kills the enemy as normal before going off on his way.

MC. MC is just another one of the troupe members. They happen to be the one that Chrollo bumps into first. Right away, Chrollo eyes are a bit more widened, looking slightly more unhinged. To MC, this isn't anything too weird. Just another day of him searching for blood.

When they get back to the base, Chrollo is acting odd.

He's asking where they were, who they might have interacted with, etc. He gets a lot more defensive if MC did happen to talk to someone (other than the troupe). He seems irritated.

Then he randomly stops. He goes back to reading, and everything is as it usually is again.

But you see, that's when the real shit hits.

In a few hours, Chrollo goes from calm to the neediest person ever. He asks MC to sit beside him, he starts to talk a lot more. He rambles on and on about how admirable MC is. He's holding their arm with two hands, tugging them as close as possible.

Of course, the members are weirded the fuck out. In no way does such a intelligent man turn into the human equivalent of a dog. But if they try to separate Chrollo away from MC or distract him from them he gets PISSY.

His whole demeanour goes dark, and it's taking his every will not to murder whoever. His hold on MC gets tighter, more desperate. (If he's provoked further more he will attack). Hence it's a challenge for Pakunoda to go through his memory.

The condition only gets worse as the hours pass by. At the peak of the effects, he'll be sitting on MC's lap, snuggling them. Poor MC has to dodge his kisses as much as possible.

It takes a while, but the members get either Shizuku to get rid of the potion, or wait for the effects to wear off (Max is like 3 days).

When Chrollo is no longer affected, he doesn't remember much. But he enjoyed being able to express his true feelings.

Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of headcanons about Mello specifically because out of all the characters in death note I think he’s the one I understand the least even though he’s the hottest lmao. I promised myself I wouldn’t try to write about him until I finish reading the manga because I know a lot of stuff about him got cut from the anime but I may break this self imposed rule on account of I want him so bad.

My only headcanon for him besides that ‘snorting cocoa powder’ shitpost is that if he did survive the horrors he would eventually take up the mantle as L after a couple years of reflection. Maybe even sooner if Near didn’t make it out alive with him.

Fictional character death doesn’t really hit me hard compared to other people but I still think Mello should be allowed to breathe a long sigh of relief after finishing up with the Kira case, take a break from anything and everything that would put him in danger, and just settle down with Matt under a fake name and let himself go a little bit yk. Two to three years of chilling out and getting fatter as a little treat. If L’s weird logic about the whole ‘you don’t gain weight as long as you use your brain’ thing also applies to Mello it literally does not matter, like turn off your brain for a second and RELAX dude. The real tragedy of death note is that Mello didn’t live long enough to realise he needed that

Suddenly, the memories all come flooding back.

Ever since I started taking this blog seriously, I'd known what today's post would be. I've celebrated a good few events on here - Christmas, Halloween, Voiceless Week, and so forth. Yet for the second of February - the day of the sequel - there was only one event fit to be covered. The legendary Chain of Memories II Day.

I wanted to make sure, before the day of reckoning came, that I'd made a post covering long-time ripper ShonicTH, as he's very much at the core of this event and all that surrounds it. As I described in Trial of the Heart, ShonicTH was one of the first members on SiIva that felt recognizable from their output alone, due purely to just how prominent his love for Kingdom Hearts and its music was. Soon enough, that expression of love would extend into ironic shitposting, as we got exposed to what one could consider an inside joke turned channel meme. As a Kingdom Hearts megafan, ShonicTH was aware of a subset of the community on YouTube who would post "remastered" music uploads from Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, only for the remastering effort to simply be slathering the original tracks in heaps of reverb. That is of course terrible for the sake of remastering, but undeniably fucking hilarious for the sake of ripping to SiIvaGunner - it wasn't long until we'd start seeing reverberating rips of Chain of Memories posted to the channel, and not long therafter where a very iconic catchphrase would begun being spread in the comments of each one of them.

In SiIva's later years, the idea of SiIva uploading rips that have no intention of sounding good is kind of just commonplace, be it with Sex - Steve Harvey or even Snowball Park - Super Mario 3D World. But what the Chain of Memories reverb in-joke would eventually culminate into, on ShonicTH's birthday on May 13th 2017, was an entire day dedicated to these rips: the entire game's soundtrack of 38 tracks were ripped and all posted to the YouTube channel at the exact same time, promptly flooding the sub boxes of anyone who wasn't prepared. Chain of Memories Day became the sort of thing I would tell horror stories about to my friends, the perfect example of just how thoroughly unpredictable SiIvaGunner was, and how fucking funny it was all along the way.

But that's the thing - it was, in some small way, able to be predicted. If you'd been following ShonicTH's imprint on the channel up until May 2017, and knew that it was his birthday, you could've at least been prepared for what was to come. NOBODY was able to be prepared for the secondcoming - Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories II Day.

Season 4 Episode 1's main mission statement, before being wholly engulfed in the King for Another Day Tournament, was to make a season more unpredictable and chaotic than anything the channel had been before. And on August 31st, we saw perhaps the best demonstration of those efforts - 69 rips from a made up sequel game, 28 of which were some sort of absurd spin on the theme song Simple and Clean, uploaded at the span of once per minute. To call this day a rollercoaster would be an understatement.

Because, like, as only the second rip posted across the event, Kingdom Hearts-type beat began as sort of giving us false hope. Compared to the rips of the Season 2 event, it was just a pretty neat trap remix of the Hollow Bastion theme, with little indicating the intents of the rips to follow beyond just being moderately trashy in the way trap music tends to be. That room for doubt would be soundly squashed in the minutes to follow, as every rip seemed to be getting worse than the last. Simple and Clean (Gamma Mix) is, in no uncertain terms, LITERALLY just noise, as four separate poorly-done covers of the original song are laid atop one another with a metric fuckton of reverb, as the culmination of three prior rips each adding one more garbage cover onto the pile. Simple and Clean (Omicron Mix) features a bizarre audio recording of a poorly done Donald Trump impression, pretending to hold a speech whilst actually just reading the lyrics to Simple and Clean, althewhile a Kazoo blasts faintly celebratory music in the background. The amount of layers of irony at play to be making one of the channel's first-ever jabs at America's most ridiculed man take place during an event like this is simply incredible, and its the kind of rip that's so thoroughly unfunny that it loops back to being comedy gold.

To say that the day was painful would be one thing, yet it was the kind of pain that felt like a genuinely unbelievable experience to be part of. After Simple and Clean (Mu Mix), I think most of us expected the event to be over, with the typical Snow Halation celebration video a la Snow Halocean and its many predecessors. And yeah, despite the dubious quality of the cover, Simple and Clean (Mu Mix) was still giving the event a sort of "final" feel, as the rapid uploads halted at a nice, sufficient 29 rips.

Only a few minutes later, the rips would continue as if nothing had even happened - we'd been utterly bamboozled.

Having lived through both the Chain of Memories Day events makes me feel like a genuine survivor of war, yet when looking back on the events in hindsight I can't help but let out a sickening, yet joyous cackle. And I wanted to put Simple and Clean (Psi Mix) as the headlining rip of this mess because how well it encapsulates that joyous side to it all - through the reverb and through the context, you can tell that Keeby10 was genuinely having a ton of fun preparing all these bizarre rips for the event. SiIvaGunner is a fantastic source for quality, amazing rearrangements, but as I talked about in Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterday - as performed by Bob Dylan, there's something so thoroughly enjoyable about seeing the human nature behind the channel shine through from time to time. Simple and Clean (Psi Mix) isn't going in anyone's playlist of bangers, but it embodies so much of the fun that defined the event, and by extension so much of the affection that the team clearly hold for ShonicTH and his niche in-joke about Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories music remasters.

It was hell on earth to try and pick just five rips for this silly gimmick post, let alone if I were to have picked just one - so, if you're feeling truly insane one particular morning, to go through the event yourself and see if you can make it through on the other side.

I didn't say it was right, I merely suggested putting things in the context of their own time period. I didn't say anything was morally correct, in fact I didn't qualify the suggestion to contextualize in any way, so please stop assuming bad faith where there is none. I'll say what I've often said on other posts - the Snapedom is FULL of people with various kinds of trauma, so please pause, take a deep breath, and tread more lightly before you jump to conclusions like this, because you don't know whose trauma you're triggering when you react carelessly.

If you want to write a critically considered post about unethical behaviors in adults in the HP series, draw parallels to British public schools and parenting trends in the 90s, and discuss whether those practices are abusive in the context of their time and how we understand abuse now, go off. There's a lot to delve into there. And that's without even touching on the author of the books who left an abusive marriage only to use her fame and wealth to attack a marginalized group on a mass scale in a way that reflects a lot of abusive behaviors.

But learn to use language correctly. No, most adults in the HP world are not "abusers." Many of them exhibit abusive behaviors, but there's a significant difference between people who enact abusive behaviors that are enabled and taught by cultural norms, and people who are actual abusers and deliberately exploit their power over others in order to control and harm those they make vulnerable. The Dursleys were abusers. McGonaggall was not. The Weasleys were not. The latter two display careless, thoughtless behaviors that they are able to because of their varying levels of authority over children, but they don't do so in ways that circumscribe a child abuser. Your clappy hand emoji isn't cute or witty. It's sarcastic and condescending and even though I don't think I have to share my personal experiences with a stranger on the internet for any reason, I also haven't spent the last two decades of my life working through abuse trauma to get schooled by someone who doesn't know me, doesn't understand the words and concepts they're talking about, and is unwarrantedly rude and dismissive in the tags.

When you write a post where you use language about abuse, you're going to get reactions from people who have experienced it and know it first hand. Because what you're doing is minimizing that experience and trivializing it. And hey, I don't know you, and I don't know whether you have your own trauma or if it's rooted in abuse too, and for all I know you process it differently from me, and who am I to judge that? But that doesn't change my own emotional reaction to this thread, which is that the second you go from discussing abusive behaviors to calling people abusers, you're walking on eggshells. And by stating that "every adult in a position of authority besides Ron’s parents are child abusers" you're trivializing the meaning of what an abuser is, which is both insulting to people like me and also makes it harder for everyone who reads your post to understand what abuse looks like in real, tangible ways. And that's how real abusers fly under the radar and get away with it - when the people around them don't know how to identify their behavior.

You don't have to agree with me, but I feel it's reasonable to expect that you engage respectfully. Either you want me to take your post seriously or you don't. Either that last comment was an exaggeration, as you say, in which case the shitpost meme I added was in the same vein, or you were serious, in which case my points stand. It costs you nothing to say what you wanted to politely, or to just message me and ask what I meant before going off like you did. And if that comment was indeed an exaggeration, then that is indeed triviliazing actual abuse and the trauma experienced by abuse victims. It's one thing to do that thoughtlessly and be unaware, but I find it really offensive to get a condescending lecture in response to my reaction which, given the content of the post and my own experiences, was much more tame and respectful than yours has been.

So I will repeat: I suggested putting things in the context of their time period. That doesn't mean "accept things as they were." It means "please think critically about why this character was written in the way they were and what the author might be trying to say, what world they're describing, or what it might say about the author." I'm sorry if that intention was confusing, and there are ways to clear up that confusion without condescending statements like "repeat after me babe" and clappy hands emojis. Putting comments like "please get a life" in the tags is unnecessary and childish. Putting quotes around words that weren't in my tags (ie. "that's how it was") as if I'd said them is unfair and presumptuous as well as misleading to others. When you jump to conclusions and try to educate someone on something you don't understand, they aren't the one who looks foolish.

If I'd wanted to add to this discussion I would have added to the thread, and not left my suggestion about context in the tags. With all due respect (and again, I acknowledge that I don't know your own history and experiences and don't want to make assumptions about them, this is merely my own gut reaction), from where I stand if you understood abuse - real, actual, harmful, trauma inducing abuse - I think you might have approached this thread differently.

He 'lost' his list of passwords (Crookshanks stole it) which resulted in Sirius getting in the dorms.

When Neville confessed it was his - she turned to all the students and told them to not dare tell him the password. He was dependent on others letting him in (after Sirius already got into the castle and could very much do so again).

It came to a point where the trio were sneaking out - and walked on Neville sleeping at the entrance.

Now not even speaking on how they didn't notice Neville was not on the dorms, or that the prefect didn't check on him, or Percy who was a head boy - but his own Head of House who told everyone to not give him the password didn't even check of he got in.

He was basically forced to stay out of a safe place (also denying him proper sleeping and access to his belongings and to sanitary necessities) - while there's a supposed mass murderer trying to get to Harry - who's in the Gryffindor dorms.

She was risking his life in their eyes not knowing Sirius is innocent.

Yet somehow Snape is worse then her for telling Neville he's going to feed his toad whatever he brewed.

A question actually addressed to me (i think based on context: @iwillgotoheavenforyou correct me if I'm wrong), so I guess I now have to take the time to answer it because "It's the autism," is entirely too pithy an accurate response to be useful.

How do you know so much

The first caveat to say is that I don't actually know all that much: I'm fond of saying, "I pretend to know things," and that's not really true because I do know things, but I generally give off the vibe that I know more stuff to a more indepth mastery than I actually do. This is cause of three four things.

I'm a knowledge generalist: I don't know a lot about most subjects but I pick up a little bit about everything.

I'm autistic and for me that manifests in being very good at connecting dots to draw beautifyl patterns, even given a small number of data points.

I'm autistic and I'm very particular about how I phrase things, with nuance and depth, such to avoid being misunderstood.

I was taught how to do basic research, and I try to make a habit of doing it before speaking when unsure about something.

I typically only know enough about something to be dangerous; often I need to look things up to remember exact details but I also try to make a habit checking my position on the dunning-kruger graph before speaking by looking shit up: You will however semi-regularly find me called out for having misjudged where exactly on that curve I am enrealis; and one whoopsie-daisy of a conversation with some actual expert later I'll admit that to being wrong on the internet out-loud for the world to read. It's never a pleasant experience but I assure you, I'm always so very brave about it. That's how I maintain the illusion of knowing so much™.

Now as for how I actually go about knowing things, well the things I know a lot about were either special interests of mine or things I specifically learned about in school and college. I went to the liberal arts school ███████ where I learned a shit tonne of information and then my autistic brain started connecting dots and forming opinions about things I have no business having opinions about. I have never filed my taxes (on account of not making enough to be legally required to file taxes) and yet, I have opinions about W2 forms which I won't be sharing here because they're not relevant.

My actual areas of expertise are quite limited in scope to 400 creative writing, 250s math, (english) literature, 200s chemistry, biology, physics, psychology, economics, art theory, painting, computers and coding, 100s of many miscellanious disciplines, blorbo from shows, shows, minecraft, and my lived experiences as an left-handed autistic queer white dude whose shoelaces deep into tumblr. This is a normal amount of things to know stuff about.

I know just about as much as anyone else who is my age and has had my level of education, but my autism might make me marginally better at connecting threads across multiple disciplines to apply knowledges in synasthetic ways, but mostly I'm practiced in the art of appearing to know what I'm talking about (not because I want to seem smart but because as a baby autistic being labelled 'smart' made surviving K-12 easier for me.)

How do you have time to write in such details

I'm fortunate enough that my living situation is stable such that I don't need to hold down a job nor make a living and can spend most of my time shitposting, seriousposting, and playing minedcraft.

I do type faster than most people because I'm a left-handed person both because I type a lot and because I'm using a DAVORK-L instead of QWERTY. I actually can type fast enough to cause minor-major sprains in my right wrist. I don't tend to do that, but it's happened and will continue to happen in the future.

But mostly, I just start a post and type until it's finished. I enter a fugue state and exit it hours later +1 reblog. (This matches my general approach to creative pursuits like writing and painting.)

How do you remember all of this

Most of the time I don't. There are two relevant modes of memory (there are a bunch of others) recall and recognition: I'm good at exactly one of those things; and well, my brain is not a well-ordered library of facts that I can look things up in.

It is a mireous bayou that swallows knowledge to rest beneath its murky waters; and if I'm looking for a specific factoid I need to navigate through the generally unmarked trees until I find a vaguely familar spot or happen upon the information randomly.

The thing you don't see is all the memory aids I have when posting about topics I'm less sure about. I have a folder on my computer called knowledge I put inforgraphics in. I have a folder in my browser book marks (sorely in need of organization) called use where I keep my citable links to stuff. When I need to know a specific fact and I can't find it in the bayou of my mind, I open 2-6 tabs on wikipedia to search for it, some of which I link in the post, and some of which I don't because I'm lazy or I actually did.

Seems random but what are your thoughts on Twilight?

I'm not saying this in a "I liked it before it was cool" type of way but more that I got to experience the first Twilight book without the acclaim and then universal mockery it endured influencing my experience of it - and I loved it. I was 16 I think? Found it in a lil book store at a train station and I read that shit in a day, I make no apologies - an intense vampire romance set in a small lush green and rainy town? Obsessed. It just spoke to my teenage girl self; who wouldn't want to eat ravioli in a restaurant with a hot vampire dude after he saved you from a group of creepy men, and who is telling you that you're special and different from everyone else? I'M ONLY A HUMAN BEING AND A SIMPLE WOMAN.

The second book I enjoyed because it did kind of capture a feeling of depression and T e e n a g e L o n e l i n e s s that I related to at the time and also Jacob was - AT THAT POINT - the least problematic of the two boyfriend options. And by the time Breaking Dawn came out, I had lost interest and was so grossed out by the character assassination of Jacob going from a sweet chill dude who works on cars to like an aggressive baby-imprinter.

Obviously as you get older you see the more dicey aspects of the series like Edward's lack of boundaries and Jacob's - well, Jacob's lack of boundaries, and all the rest of it. Now I'm not really fussed about the series, I just like the stupid Twilight shitposts I see now and then.

Existential Comics makes an interesting claim: That the “neoliberal” solution to climate change is to “hope” that “somehow” it will become profitable to save the planet, and that this will not work. I wonder if that’s true. I know that a lot of twitter leftists consider AOC a neoliberal centrist shill (AOC but not Bernie hmm I wonder what the difference is), but I don’t know if Existential Comics does, so lets focus on people who are absolutely Neoliberal Centrist shills, like Obama and Biden.

How’d that that out?

Why, it turns out that this research helped cause the cost of wind and especially solar to drop dramatic, such that renewable energy is now cheaper to produce than fossil fuel energy. Did ARRA cause this, and Obama single-handedly stop climate change and should be hailed as our new sun god? No, of course not. There’s an awful lot of reasons the cost of solar fell, but “Obama threw shitloads at money into renewable energy research” probably deserves a mention, especially if you’re making the argument that neoliberals just kind of hope climate change solves itself and don’t do anything at all about it.

And the cool thing about technological growth is that it can be exported. 

It also has knock-on effects. General Motors is beginning to phase out gasoline-powered cars. This isn’t because they feel bad about destroying the environment, or because they’re “woke” or whatever.

It’s because the cost of electric batteries has fallen 90% in the last decade, and electric cars are starting to get cheaper than gas cars. Of course, 2035 is a long time away, and we’re kind of on the clock here re: global warming. Is anyone doing anything to try to speed this up?

Why, it turns out that as we speak Joe Biden has put out a bill that includes $174 billion dollars to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles, including building 500,000 charging stations directly, and that this is part of his 2,000 billion dollar plan that has other climate stuff in it as well. 

So the idea that neoliberals “hope” that companies will “somehow” find sustainable living profitable rings a little hollow. It seems more like neoliberals “spend billions of dollars to reduce the cost and hasten the rollout of renewable energy sources that are now the cheapest form of power thanks to billions of dollars in government investment.”.

And that’s a position that can absolutely be criticized! You could criticize Biden/Democrats for

A. Not spending enough on Solar/Research (An evergreen complaint, since any amount of spending could be increased)

B. Not grappling with the high costs of building things in America 

C. Not doing much of anything to urbanize America 

D. Treating the problems of the world as a series of discrete small problems and not looking into the structural oppression of capitalism that underlies it all

E. The way the planned expansion of high speed rail connects cities based on what makes a nice-looking graphic as opposed to what routes people would use the most

Thank god there’ll be an easier way to get to Minot, North Dakota (population 48,261)! Clearly this was worth giving up line connecting Reno and Phoenix directly to Las Vegas! 

F. An endorsement of American car culture

G. Tons of money for flashy High Speed Rail, but not much for, like, subways. 

H. Really just generally the way high-speed rail has been fetishized as good for its own sake and disconnected from actual use-cases or the high cost of building things in America that derails a lot of HSR construction

I. Not dealing with the rent crisis, which is a crisis in and of itself but is also preventing people who actually want to live in dense cities with little need to drive from doing so.

J. A focus on the magical bullet of “carbon capture” which has shown little promise and (unlike solar) can never be something corporations will do on their own because there’s not even a theoretical way to make it profitable.

K. Not raising the gas tax

L. Not enough and/or too much money to nuclear

Etc etc etc. This list is getting long. The point is that there are a million things to criticize liberals about on climate change, but making good arguments would require you to, like, look things up. Read a paper. Read people arguing the pros of policies. Knowing what’s going on in the world. Thinking, basically. 

And even though Existential Comics is a webcomic about Philosophy, a field where literally all you do is sit around and think about shit, he doesn’t really like thinking very much! “Joe Biden does some things that are good and some things that are bad” is too complex a thought for his galaxy brain, so he doesn’t engage with it. starting us off is niall! mater is the obvious choice here. i fully believe in my heart that they are the same.

mater loves having fun and is goofy and makes people laugh, just like niall. he has his sensitive spots and he is in touch with his emotions, although i can't be certain to say the same for niall. mater loves backwards driving and tractor tipping and you can't convince me that niall wouldn't try tractor tipping if someone asked. also, a direct quote from the cars wiki says, "[Mater] is also a very non-judgemental person" which goes hand in hand with niall's hit, no judgment. plus flicker is country, i don't care what anyone else says.

next up is liam! he is mack without a shadow of a doubt.

just look at those grins!! mack is the most loyal and selfless character in the movie because he agrees to drive across the country with no sleep so that lightning can make it to the race track first even though he knows he's going to fall asleep. he also pushes lightning to fulfill his sponsorship with rust-eze even though lightning hates it which feels like big lima cap energy (not me bringing astrology into this). mack likes to have fun while on the job but he doesn't let it distract him (for the most part). also liam is the most built out of the boys and mack is an 18-wheeler so it feels right.

okay zayn's turn. he was hard to pin down because i couldn't quite decide what direction i wanted it to go in. but ultimately i decided on doc hudson.

so hear me out. doc is the most private character in the movie and he doesn't talk about his past to anyone. he is friendly enough to the people living in his town but he doesn't like the idea of opening up to strangers. i feel like zayn is the same way. he is very private, like living on a farm in rural pa private but he enjoys spending his time with his family and the people that mean a lot to him. also doc doesn't say much but when he does, you better listen. both of them like to have fun too but it has to be on their terms with their selected people. also that 2014 amas curl is just giving me doc hudson.

okay here come the hardest parts. i agree that fillmore is harry, like those doe eyes are almost too much BUT when i first sent the ask to you i had someone else in mind. flo. harry is flo.

i mean just look at her. and maybe it's just the fine line era outfits that have me mesmerized but you can't deny there's some similarity here. flo is kind and cares a lot about her customers that come to her cafe and even though she is a transplant, she cares about radiator springs a lot too. she is very helpful to others and is always looking out for her friends. her license plate reads "SHO GRL" which just makes sense with harry being the pop princess that he is. they both can get a bit sassy if needed, but everyone knows that they care about them deep down. also take a look at those tailfins!

and last but certainly not least is louis. he was another tricky one to pin down but then i saw him next to sally and my mind was made up.

sally is passionate and committed to her cause of restoring radiator springs no matter what just like i can imagine that louis is with anything he puts his mind to. she is a transplant to radiator springs who missed the heyday of the neon and she is dedicated to making it a place on the map again. also she calls lightning "stickers", who else calls their love interest by nicknames only?? they are both often judged and underestimated by others only to prove them wrong. and once you get past that hard exterior, there's a soft human on the inside (manifesto, in case you didn't get the reference). also did i mention the baby blues?????!!!? AND the ass tatts??

honestly didnt even consider that the line between private/personal communication cause it seems so obvious to me in my mind eheheh. like. its about intended audience. a published work or speech is meant to be understood by large swathes of people.

a fisherman talking to his friend is just talking to his friend. it doesnt matter how he speaks or even if he gets his message across, unless the friend particularly wants to learn, in which case they are capable of, and have the opportunity to, ask further questions. even in a small group of people, they can get to know him as a person, and understand any quirks or nuances in the way he communicates. a crowd of strangers will not have that opportunity.

with a "larger audience," like a crowd of strangers or readers from across the world, that direct ability to clarify oneself after the fact becomes much more difficult (if not impossible), which is why getting it right the first time suddenly becomes important.

some posts can be intended to reach a large audience, in which case, (assuming the message itself is of high importance - not rlly talking about simplistic jokes or shitposts) paying attention to clear wording is important.

on the other hand, a lot of people post for themselves, they use (for example) tumblr as a diary, or to communicate only with friends, and thus might not worry about how others will interpret their words.

this, of course, has nothing to do with whether or not a text is classified as literature. literature is just textual art. i may have made a mistake in my word choice previously to give the opposite impression ahaha. like kafkas diaries. they werent meant for anyone else to see afaik, so his meaning in many places can be widely disputed, but they are still influential pieces of literature regardless. it doesnt matter that kafka wasnt clear with his meaning because, even though it has been read by others, it wasnt meant for them, it was meant for himself.

to be honest i dont understand the significance of what is or isnt a "term," just generally speaking ahah. it just seems like a word to me and if people understand what is meant by it the exact nuances are inconsequential. i get the point of the example, of course, i just found that interesting.

regarding the specific quote (im paraphrasing because tumblr wont let me copy text 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔) "you could go all in and say, fuck the rules, as long as its understandable, it is proper english" and like, yeah sure, i guess, but the way i see it, rules and consistency are inherently what make a text understandable. which is basically sort of like what you said in the last paragraph kind of. a little bit.

to elaborate, even if it seems like someone is disregarding all "rules" of english (idk. dril for example) by nature of their words having a meaning that can be understood, i think that inherently they must be following some set of rules. thats what language is to me i feel like. a set of guidelines for communication, which can and will be bent or evolved when needed, but maintain a core structure so that it can be widely understood. like whst you said! :Dhope that makes sense lol.

this is why i think some rules take priority over others. in most cases, capitalization can be removed without altering the meaning of a text negatively, sometimes even improving it (example: SANS SERIF FONTS, IN WHICH CAPITAL "i" AND LOWERCASE "L" ARE ENTIRELY INDISTINGUISHABLE) (of course, there are exceptions to this, there is a reason why people began to capitalize words ^_^)

its the same way with spelling, many spelling mistakes can maintain the intended meaning of the text, and even add meaning as opposed to taking it away, while some spelling mistakes are severe enough to make the text completely illegible.

the rules i value most, personally, are word choice and order because they can drastically change the meaning of a text, in a way i notice frequently online or in fiction. a classic example is the perceived difference between a "cabin in the woods" and a "cottage in the forest," or even with a more juvenile example, the difference between a "butt dial" and a "booty call."

these are really basic examples, i cant think of a more complex or applicable one off the top of my head. just imagine all those strongly worded tumblr posts that are trying to make a good point or spread a good message, but are so hateful and vitriolic in their words, that they even alienate those who agree with them. that would be an example of a situation where correcting wording would serve the purpose of the text and clarify its meaning from "gahh i hate this thing and all of you" to "we, collectively, should try to improve this thing." if that. makes sense. aha

i think what im most passionate about is like writing/rhetoric/argument. and linguistics, of course, are an intrinsic part of that :33. if not doing it myself, then analyzing it. my fave thing in the world i loved ap lang (the words ap lang might mean nothing to you idk if collegeboard chills with the french lol) (advanced placement language and composition - a college credit course about utilizing analyzing rhetoric in writing, for reference)

to clarify my opinion on "proper" english, idfc how people write in their personal lives/to friends or family/etc, but in professional/published works- or anything that is meant to be understood by a wider audience i think the clarity provided by adhering to certain grammatical rules and structure is veeerrry important eheheh. for the sake of ease of communication!

i try to be pretty careful about my word choice and order allll the time for that reason, even if i drop a lot of proper spelling/capitalization/punctuation for casual dialogue.

nonetheless, i think when people act intentionally obtuse just to shame people for speaking casually/colloquially/with slang/whatever thats stupid and evil etc. hate when people do that. i might not understand a lot of it, but it has the right to exist yk! it is just as worthy of respect ^_^

once again i dare ask, where does the professional/private begins and stops? thats a big debate we had in termonology class (terminology , the science of terms aka specialised & professional words). some terminologists argue that terms are only employed in the field by top-notch experts to top-notch experts and nothing else qualifies as a term. other terminologists argue that funk that: "spoonful" is a term because it belongs to the professional sector of cooking, disregarding how common/unspecialised it may be (they dont actually disregard it but yknow). also some guy who goes fishing as a hobby every week and starts talking about the components of his rod to his friends: not an expert (meaning doesn't work as a fisherman)! but using specialised words! should they count as terms or common words? should that be considered professional discussion cuz the terms or private discussion cuz he's talking to a friend? anyways it's just to say that the gap between professional and private discussions may not be so clear

on a same note, what is a wider audience? we're on the internet literally everyone could read that post, making it, by its nature, designed for a wide audience. should every tumblr post thus should have proper english? likewise, works that were only notes and scribbles, like Les Pensées by Pascal that were published post-mortem... it was not meant for a wider audience in that state and is not always using proper French. due to this, are thus Les Pensées not a piece of literature anymore? (kinda teasing w this paragraph hehe but you see the issue i'm poking)

like you said the most important task of a language is not to be proper. it is to be spoken but also to be effective. to enable communication. we could also go all in and dare say, funk the rules as long as a message or piece or literature is understandable, it is proper english!! arguably, every broken rule of proper english creates a new variation of english that could be its own proper variation english (like UK english, US english, NZ english, etc, coexist together as proper englishes)

FIRST THING’S FIRST: I wanted a better villain. Yeah, that’s right. You know who the villain was in the last movie? Fucking ARIES. The god of fucking WAR. And who is it this time? Some random dude turned ravenous by greed with NO GODLY POWERS? Pedro Pascal, sweetie, I’m sorry, but put that Mando helmet back on and get Grogu back in your arms because the whole ‘mAkE a WiSh you mOtHeRfuCkeRs’ thing just didn’t work.

Going on this ‘I want a god as a villain’ theme, the plot could have totally had more Greek gods tied into it!!! Like, the wish stone? There’s dialogue that’s something along the lines of “you look like you’ve seen a ghost” when Diana reads the inscription inside the wish stone and Diana says “I thought I did.” Like, that means Aries made the stone, right?? She’s having flashbacks and shit, yeah?? I just feel like the *backstory* of the stone could have had more prevalence, idk.

Disregarding the plot and everything else, Gal Gadot looks fucking badass in literally everything she wears.

But, Barbara, honey. What the actual fuck was that leopard shit? She legit turned into a feral furry and went apeshit on everyone?? And the costume design was,,,, um,,,, just very questionable for her

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. WHERE THE FUCK WAS IT????? In the last movie, Diana grows SO MUCH!! Like that was the WHOLE POINT!!! And now in this movie, she was an entirely static character, which really just didn’t do it for me. Building upon the theme of static-ness, part of the plot is basically the same as the last movie. Steve has to sacrifice himself and she despairs. It’s literally the same. Rather repetitive.

THE COLOR SCHEME. Okay, this is a very weird and minute thing, but it’s noticeable for me in EVERY movie. The previous movie had a largely blue and cool-colored lighting throughout nearly the whole thing, except on the island of the Amazons, which I like because it really created the contrast between the island and, you know, the shitty realm of un-godlike humans. In this movie, however, it was very bright and kind of all over the place, and it really just kind of.... blew the mood? Like yeah, overly decadent 80s clothes and shit, but.... something about the previous movie, and how the visual appearance in terms of color made me feel, was just better.

Oh man I remember exactly how I felt then. Many many times I made a small draft in an attempt to make a somewhat continuation to Small Things to Imagine but it never felt quite right. The reopening of requests at that time was really the catalyst of my inspiration. It is the shortest of the series of Small Things to Imagine but I consider it an important warm up for the reopening of requests and a weight being lifted off my shoulders!

#5- Leviathan 'Despair' Fanart

Oh my god drawing that was a pain, I did draft after draft and I was in so much agony coloring his table. But the song was so good my inspiration was on fire the entire time. You guys won't believe how happy I still am from the amount of feedback I recieved out of it. It's a simple fanart, but I felt I managed to send the exact feelings I felt from the lyrics and imagining Levi to all of you, and that makes me really proud no matter the imperfections ♡

#4- While You're Not Looking

The ammount of attention this one recieved in just one single day of being posted was NOT expected. It was again, just a moment of epiphany, and then I had many people screaming and crying in my notifications and all I could think was "oh god I broke them are you guys okay what the fuck is happening". All I had in mind while writting was literally just what they do when you're not looking, and only after some people comented on tags about the yearning this post reeked of that I realized what I wrote 😂. It skyrocketed in notes and it still has me dumbfounded lololol.

One of my first posts in this blog, it has been on top 3 for a good while before dropping down. It was incredibly fun to draw seeing it was literally a warmup from me staying months without drawing. I still feel sorry for the original artist of the base I used because it literally scaped my mind to credit, specially seeing I cropped the thing without paying attention to any signatures, and I also had no idea the original artist was on tumblr either, though I also didn't bother to search. The moment I accidentally found about the original artist I immediatelly went to put proper credits, but still, sorry.

Another moment of epiphany where I was high on the blushing faces of the brothers. Oh boy I was PUMPED while making that one. I was listening to the song mentioned on it the entire time and until today I still get so happy while listening to it. I consider this one the ultimate part of the Small Things to Imagine series because it's not only the longest it was also made with a lot more happy feelings than the first part, and it's even higher on top than MORE Small Things to imagine, and I am proud of it 😌

#2- Photos The Brothers Would Have of You

Literally inspired by the shitshow that is the photos both me and my brother take. My brother makes sure all pics he ever takes can become memes, while I always search to take pictures from people at their most natural, even if it means a blurry pic of them laughing in an awkward position, and so I merged mine and my brother's tendencies and this post was born! I'm dumb af, you can notice in many of my posts but it's important to get this clear before starting.

I don't know how to communicate with people. I don't even know how to do it in my mother language, I don't know what you are expecting from me. I'd love to talk to you if you want though, I just suck and I'll probably run out of things to tell after 2 minutes of chatting.

I vent sometimes, but just trivial things. I think I do not have any TW to put like, in the general blog. If it is one, I'll put it on the specific post.

I get obsessed over a specific series, anime or book and I stick with it for months. In that time, I can't watch any other series or anime that isn't the one that I'm obsessed with at the moment. Right now I'm on my JJBA obsession.

Also, I've just watched the anime parts. I would start reading the manga, but I'm waiting for the Stone Ocean anime release. I don't know if I could wait til then though.

My personality type is INTP in MBTI and 5w4 in Enneagram. I was True Neutral in Alignment but I did the test on January. I have to do the tests again. By the way I know this tests aren't 100% accurate but it's the unstoppable need to try to know myself that keeps me inspiring me to do them on repeat, don't mind me. Annnd because I'm too lazy to read all the personalities one by one.
