Bulletproof Heart Pt.2
Pairing: Gerard Way x Reader
Prompt: Request from Anon- “ could you write one where the reader is a rock singer and they and mcr are on warped tour together, and they both lowkey like each other but think they’re both out of each other’s league, and find out that they’re both secretly into nerdy stuff + maybe getting together?
TW: Mentions of an abusive relationship.
AN: The plot thickens. Sorry for the delay in uploading <3
Enjoyyyy <3
That night after everyone had stumbled back to the bus in a tipsy stupor, you couldn't shake the thought of your encounter with Gerard from your brain. And what's more, you hated yourself for it. For awhile you tossed and turned, hoping the unwelcome feelings you had would fade to nothing so that you could fall asleep at last.
But your curiosity got the better of you, and there was only would person who could give you the answers you were looking for.
"Hey Gavin, are you still conscious?" you whispered from your bunk. You heard the rustle of sheets moving in response.
"Hmmm?" a low and sleepy sound of acknowledgement answered.
"I'm just wondering...what do you know about Gerard Way?"
As soon as the words left your lips, Gavin's curtains swung open with superhuman force.
"Y/N are you in love with Gerard Way?!" Gavin's voice was no longer tired, having morphed into a sharp and excited whisper. In addition to being the band's social butterfly, he always knew the gossip about everyone within a 20 mile radius.
"Christ, really Gavin? We only spoke for like fifteen minutes."
"So it was like a love at first sight situation?"
"You are so annoying, I swear to god."
"Do you want info or not?" he threatened.
You sighed. "Fine, yes I do."
Gavin cleared his throat as if preparing for a presentation. "OK, so everyone has something good to say about him, seems like a really genuine guy. I've heard he was in a long term relationship for ages, but its been broken off for awhile now. "
"Hmm," you murmured, trying to sound indifferent, "yeah he seems like a sweet guy."
"Yeah and every girl with a pulse seems to be after him. You got some competition out there." he teased. "But seriously, if you're interested you should go for it. You deserve to be happy, Y/N. It's been three years since...you know who."
Gavin didn't say his name, but he had said enough to bring on a wave of sad memories. "Thanks. I'm uh, feeling pretty tired, so... I'm just gonna get some sleep."
"G'night." Gavin said softly, as if aware he had brought out long buried and very unwelcome feelings.
You rolled over in your bunk, pulling your blankets up over your head, unwilling to dwell on the memories that had been drudged up by only a few words. Three years ago. That's when you finally had the strength to break it off with Alex.
You were a different person when you met him. It was your first relationship, and you were naive and forgiving, unable to see the dozens of red flags that should have made you run away from it all.
You had answered an ad that he had posted asking for potential band members for a punk band he was forming. It had been your dream to pursue music, and you responded right away, hoping you'd hit it off. You weren't expecting Alex to be so damn attractive, and when your audition was successful, it was only a matter of time before a relationship began to develop between you.
He was older than you, more experienced, and eager to take you under his wing where he could have the most control. You mistook his over-protectiveness as a sign of love, and he slowly cut you off from people outside of the band, leaving you isolated and dependent on him.
Eventually he would get angry if he saw you speak to any other man. He took your phone regularly so that he could look through it, questioning you about anything he didn't like. The fights you had were loud and ugly, your voices rising and crashing like cantankerous bursts of thunder. Eventually, they became violent.
You were stuck in a cycle of affection and fear, held there as if caught in a tide that would never bring you back to shores of sanity. But you did eventually find the strength to get out when your friend reached out to you, offering you a place to stay. You packed your bags that night and didn't look back.
Your band was not just a career for you, it was a symbol of healing, proof that you were able to overcome it all and strike out on your own. You rolled over in your bunk, and pushed the unwanted memories aside, reminding yourself of the promise you had made to be the best damn band on Warped tour. Nothing was going to change that now.
Your first performance went by in a haze of adrenaline and sweat. The crowd was young and eager to see what you had to offer, and you were all to happy to give them something they'd remember for a long long time.
There were several people in the crowd who were fans already, proudly wearing your band's shirts and mouthing along to all of the lyrics. Others were slowly converted, headbanging enthusiastically by the end of your set. When the band's final song was met with deafening hoots and cheers, you'd felt like you'd accomplished your mission.
"We fucking killed it!" Gavin declared as he slumped in the nearest chair, exhausted.
"The crowd was good, huh?" you beamed as you wiped the sweat from your face, still breathless from your onstage antics. "Let's hope they're all like this."
"Can't get any worse than our first show ever, remember?" Liz laughed as she recalled the groups early days. "Never had so much beer pelted at me in my life."
People milled about as you and your band mates caught your breath. A few musicians from other bands popped in to say hi and let you know that they enjoyed your performance.
"Hey you actually made it!" Gavin jumped up from his chair as he noticed a new face entering the backstage area. "Guys did you meet Frank last night? From My Chemical Romance?" A man with wide hazel eyes gave a quick wave from the the entryway.
"This guy was goin on and on about how you guys were the best new band on warped tour. Had to see if he was just full of shit."
"He always starts bragging when he's drunk." you rolled your eyes.
"Well, I'm glad he did. You guys put on a pretty kick-ass show. Plus Gerard really wanted to check it out."
Your heartbeat, which had only just settled from jumping around on stage, began to speed up again.
"Gerard?"you asked softly, caught off guard by the mention of his name. You didn't see the familiar black haired boy near frank. You only saw Gavin attempting to give you a discreet wink, which you returned with a harsh glare.
"Yeah actually we were all there. Mikey and Ray had to run to another show. Don't know where Gee disappeared to though," Frank craned his head, looking around at the hustle and bustle that was happening permanently everywhere on Warped tour. "Ah, there he is. Gerard!"
You saw Gerard, surrounded by a small circle of fans, each holding something they wanted him to sign. You felt a strange pang when you noticed they were all pretty girls, and Gavin's words from last night came back to haunt you. You got some competition out there. You struggled to identify just what emotion was suddenly eating away at you--were you really jealous? Or was it the realization that even if you decided to make a move, it was probably hopeless?
Gerard nodded at Frank. "Be there in a sec!" he shouted, continuing to sign autographs until he had gotten through everyone.
Frank spoke with your band mates, but you were too distracted by the knowledge that Gerard had watched you perform to be sociable. You were anxious as to what his opinion would be, but tried to push it out of your thoughts.
You watched nervously as Gerard spoke to Frank and Gavin, noticing that he would glance over at you every so often. When your eyes finally met he gave you a nod and a warm smile. You gave yourself an internal pep talk to try and stay calm. You can just be friends, you don't need to do anything except be friendly. For the love of god, act normal.
Eventually he made his way over to you, offering another soft and lopsided smile, but his time it almost seemed as if he was shy. "Great show. From one lead singer to another, your band has a fucking killer sound."
You thanked him, grinning like an idiot while cautionary alarm bells went off in your head.
"I might be a bit biased though, because of the shirt your wearing."
You looked down, having forgotten what you threw on that morning. It was one of your favorite shirts, a short sleeved tee with the X-Men symbol emblazoned on the front. You'd had it for years, as evidenced by the smattering of small holes peeking through the bottom edge. Oh no, you thought, he likes comics too?
"You're a fan?" you asked coolly, a stark contrast to the giddy panic that was building up inside you.
"Yes! I actually wanted to make comics before My Chem was a thing." He spoke animatedly, his round hazel eyes widening even further. "But life had other plans. Not that I'm complaining."
That familiar heat rose in your cheeks. This conversation was dangerous, and you were trying desperately to fight the feeling that this man was something close to perfect.
The world around the two of you became an insignificant blur as you both discussed comics at length, and you hung on every word, taking turns revealing how you first discovered them and sharing your favorites. He even recommended a few titles that you had never heard of. His demeanor was passionate and lively, entirely different from the sullen boy you met the night before.
"I uh, I'm actually working on a comic at the moment," he began, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear, suddenly bashful, "If you're interested you should stop by the bus sometime--"
Gerard's eyes focused on something just behind you, and you felt a sudden tap on your shoulder. You turned and felt your stomach drop to a sickening low. There, standing next to the drunk who was hitting on you last night, was your ex-boyfriend Alex.
"What are the odds!" he smiled at you, blank looking smug beside him. You found yourself at a loss for words.
"What...what are you doing here?"
He scoffed. "Ouch Y/N, is that anyway to say hello? I'm here for the same reason you are." He turned his attention to Gerard. "I'm Alex. Y/N and I used to have a band together back in the day. Well, a bit more than that actually." He smirked at you, instantly transforming any butterflies you had felt while talking to Gerard into pure revulsion.
This was your worst case scenario, and it was one you had never even considered to be possible. Seeing his face again made you freeze up, and you were at a loss for words. You looked up at Gerard through your eyelashes, wondering if the dark and overwhelming swirl of emotion inside you was showing on your face. His brows were furrowed ever so slightly as if he could sense that something wasn't quite right.
"Nice to meet you," he replied curtly before turning his attention back to you. I'll uh, let you catch up. I'll just be over there with Frank...if you need anything."
You merely nodded, too caught up in your feelings to respond properly. "I'll catch you later then."
Alex saw this opportunity as a chance to reach for an embrace, but you stepped back and out of reach.
"Just what the hell are you doing?"
"What are you implying? I'm just dropping in to say hello before Midnite Heist performs later. I'm their new drummer after all. I can't even do that?"
"No," you said, struggling to maintain a low voice, "You can't. I told you I never wanted to see you again. We may be on the same tour, but that doesn't mean you can approach me. Don't try it again."
He laughed, clearly embarrassed to be spoken too like that in front of his band mate. "If you're trying to get with that Way guy, don't bother. You're punching way above your weight with that one."
You took a moment to steel yourself, and decided to walk away rather than let thing turn into a scene. Before you turned to leave, you offered one final warning.
"I haven't forgotten what you did to me. Speak to me again and you'll regret it."
You walked off, hearing mocking 'Ooooh's from Alex and Brent as you left. You saw heads turning in your direction as you stormed away towards the bus, including Gerard's, but you couldn't be bothered by that now- not when you were struggling to keep it together.
Fuck Fuck Fuck your internal monologue looped on a bitter repeat. This was going to be the longest tour of your life.

Imagine My Chemical Romance fighting over you and trying to impress you (Alternate Endings)
Based on this prompt from Anonymous: Can you please do an imagine where all of MCR has a crush on the reader, and they like try to impress the reader/try to win the reader over? Maybe like an alternate ending situation?
This was not what you had thought coming on tour would be like. You were here to have fun, to play some shows, to meet some fans - even though you weren’t nearly as popular as the other bands that were on this tour, you still had hope that you had some - and to learn more about the business from the more experienced musicians. Instead, you found yourself being the center of attention from each member of My Chemical Romance. It was any fans dream, obviously, but to you it was just annoying. There was only one of them that you had feelings towards and trying to let any of the others down always seemed to end up in drama. Even backstage right now, with an hour to go before the show, there were arguments bringing the mood down about who would come on and play a special guest start in your set just to be close to you.
But thankfully, you caught eyes with the musician that you felt the closest to. He stopped the squabbling completely, though the others did not, and approached you. “Want to get out of here?” He asked. You accepted immediately, taking his hand, and allowed him to lead you outside for a little while.
Gerard Way
It was hot outside, blazing in July but he took you out to a park that was near the venue and had a little lake which cooled the temperature down a bit. He wiped sweat off of his forehead and then got down on his knees in the grass. You joined him, laughing as he attempted to roll up the sleeves of the sweater that he was wearing but they kept falling back down.
“Allow me,” You helped, rolling them up and securing them by his elbows.
“I made you a little something - it’s back on the bus so I’ll have to give it to you after the show.” Gerard said, knuckles going through the green grass under him. He looked shy, it was sweet.
“Great, now you’re going to have me distracted the whole show. You gotta tell me what it is.” You pressed.
Gerard laughed, avoiding looking at you. “Alright, it’s a drawing of you dressed as Batman and I’m Wonder Woman.”
“Knee high boots and all?” You laughed, trying to hide it behind your fingers.
“Of course.” Gerard giggled.
“I’ll love it and keep it forever,” You promised, knowing that it would be damn good if it was drawn by Gerard. “You should get the real costume though, you’d look hot.”
Mikey Way
“Come on,” Mikey said, holding a finger to his lips to urge you to be quiet. It would be much easier to get away if the others didn’t notice, and you two silently slinked your way out of the concert venue and out into the open air. It was the hour of twilight, the stars starting to show in the sky, a mist lightly rolling on the streets and only the sounds of excited, cued up fans interrupted the tranquility.
Now that you two were finally alone, Mikey reached up and cupped your jaw, thumb swiping across your cheek. He always thought you had the best skin, was always commented on it.
“I got you something, it’s back in the bus though so I’ll have to give it to you after the show.” He admitted.
“A present for me?” You asked, slightly surprised. “You know my birthday was a couple of months ago, right?”
“I know, but I saw it and I thought of you. Alright, I’ll ruin it for you. It’s the Blu-Ray video of the entire eclipse from this year. I know you were bummed we didn’t get to see it because we were overseas-”
“That’s so thoughtful.” You said, your jaw dropping. You had only mentioned it once before, that you were disappointed you weren’t able to see it and yet he had remembered. “You’re the best Mikey, thank you.” You leaned up to him and kissed his left temple, leaving his grinning.
Frank Iero
Frank didn’t just take you to outside the venue, he covered himself with a hat and took you a restaurant that was nearby. You argued that the show was going to be starting soon and he told you flat out that there was plenty of time.
The restaurant had a back patio, to which the two of you went for a bit of privacy in case any of the fans were coming out to try and get something to eat. Frank even pulled out the chair for you, and you took a seat.
“Get anything you want,” Frank said, smiling. “It’s just a small price to pay for some alone time with you.”
“I’ll take you up on that,” You said, but you didn’t open the menu. You just looked over at Frank, staring into his hazel eyes as he did your own. You took a deep breath in and then let it out as you realized this really was the only alone time you two have had since you met.
“So remember how we stopped in New York a couple of weeks ago and Ray and I went out for a while?” Frank asked. You nodded, tilting your head in confusion. “I got something for you, sort of.”
“Like a present? Frank - there’s no need for that.”
“It’s not something I can physically give you. Just show you.” That made you even more confused, up until he stood up, awkwardly pulled up his shirt and showed you a fresh tattoo - still peeling a little bit but mostly healed - of your band logo. You opened your mouth in surprise.
“What - why?”
“Now you’re stuck being friends with me because I’ve got that.” Frank giggled. “And you’re honestly fucking amazing so it’s something I don’t mind having on me forever. Impressed by me yet?”
“You do amaze me, that’s for sure.” You said, still in disbelief.
Ray Toro
Instead of standing outside of the venue like you thought you were going to do, Ray lead you towards a costume store. It seemed like one of the pop up ones that appeared whenever Halloween was close. You hadn’t even had the chance to think about a costume yet, all you knew was that you had a show that night and you wanted to dress up at least a little bit.
“Do you know what you want to dress up as?” Ray asked, browsing the store without leaving your side, leisurely taking a stroll through the aisles.
“I haven’t given it much thought,” You admitted, stopping to look at a vampire costume. “I can’t do anything too ... gothy or anything because Gerard might think I’m trying to be him.” Ray laughed at that and agreed.
“I can think up some really good ideas. I’ll tell them to you but ... there’s a twist.” Ray said, putting his hands behind his back and did his best to look innocent.
“What’s the twist?” You asked.
“They would be couples costumes and the other half of the couple would, hopefully, be me...” Ray trailed off.
“You’re really going to have to impress me with these ideas then.” You mused, smiling.
Thirty minutes later, you both exited the fitting rooms, wearing your couples costume. It wasn’t quite complete because the hair wasn’t right, nor the make up but the actual outfits. “I remember you saying that Wolverine had one of your favorite comic covers, I didn’t think you would try to emulate that.” You said, looking at his X-Men suit.
“You remembered?” Ray said, surprised since that interview had been years ago. “You made a really good X-Men as well.” You had dressed in your favorite costume. It didn’t exactly match but showed you were part of a team.
“I’ll just come out and say it, Ray. I’m impressed. This is going to be a great Halloween.”
Bonus Bob Bryar
Bob kept holding your hand as you went out into the crisp, autumn hair. There was a street fair going on a block over and silently, you both agreed to go there.
“You’ve known the guys for a while, do you think they’ll ever stop fighting?” You asked, nervously. “If something happens to the band, I’ll never forgive myself.”
“It’ll stop once you make it stop.” Bob said, reaching into his pocket with his other hand to count out the change that he had in there. He seemed satisfied. “Once you either tell them which one of us you like or tell us that you don’t like any of us. They won’t press it.”
“You sure?” You asked.
“Positive. Come on, we have a little time, let’s have some fun.”
You didn’t let go of Bob’s hand and he didn’t let go of yours. He bought you two churros with your favorite topping and then stopped in front of a ‘pop the balloons’ game. He counted his change again and then grinned. “I’ll play.” He told the barker.
You always knew that these games were scams but you took a couple of steps back to avoid being in Bob’s way. Surprisingly, he was quite good at this game. He threw the darts and all four of them hit targets, and all four of the balloons had popped. Even the game manager seemed surprised.
“Four balloons - that’s one of these prizes here,” He said, sweeping his hand over the medium sized plushies. “Or try your luck again and go for the large!”
“I want one of those.” Bob said, pointing at one of the smaller plushies that happened to be your favorite animal.
“Those are for two balloons, not -”
“So I’ll take two of them, then.” Bob shrugged. The game manager handed them over and Bob gave you one of the little stuffed animals. “We have matching ones now.”
“I’m very impressed.” You smiled, kissing him on the cheek.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21st 2017
Despite the stereotypical Scottish weather, fans of all ages settled in outside Edinburgh’s La Belle Angele last week in anticipation for the nights lineup. Frank Iero and the Patience return to the UK alongside Homeless Gospel Choir, Paceshifters and Dave Haus And The Mermaid in support of September’s Keep The Coffins Coming EP. I sat down with Frank before he took the stage on Wednesday to talk about the release, family life, and answer some of your questions.
M.E: You are right in the centre of your UK tour alongside The Homeless Gospel Choir and Paceshifters. How does it feel? Frank: It’s great, yeah. I mean, I feel like when you come out from the states on tour, there’s usually a threshold, right? I think that three and a half, four weeks is where you’re feeling strong, but when you hit the fifth week that’s when things start to, like, “Oh my God”.
M.E: You start to miss home and go a little crazy?
Frank: Yeah, but I think the way to combat that is to surround yourself with people and bands that you like.
M.E: I noticed that with Homeless Gospel Choir, you guys are with them constantly! Frank: That’s the thing, you know? Having Derek around and having Dave and the mermaid around; I mean, we just met Paceshifters but they’re amazing, really really nice guys, so, I have to tell you that, that helps. When you have someone that’s just a jerk, it really brings the rest of the tour down, you know? So we’ve been really lucky, so knock on wood.
M.E: You released the new EP, Keep The Coffins Coming almost a month ago now; how are you feeling about the response from fans?
Frank: It’s been amazing. I mean, I didn’t expect that much attention around it because when we did the recording, I just did it for me, you know? And I didn’t know if it would ever see the light of day. I heard it was going to come out and it was like “Whoa, that’s amazing; people that really care are going to see the bridge between the two records,” and that’s awesome. It’s a session that I am in love with and I had a lot of fun doing, and looked forward to dong since I was, like, fuckin’ eleven, and then all of a sudden it came out and people were really enjoying it, and that makes you feel even better about it. M.E: So, fans are going crazy for the new stuff? Yeah! It’s fun, there were songs like “Best Friends Forever”. M.E: Ah, I remember when that music video came out, it’s real sweet. That’s the thing, right? We did that and people knew it, but the way we do it live is a little bit different and I think that it threw people through a loop a little bit to hear the live version because they were so familiar with the original. So, now to have the live version recorded and out there, too, kids really knew where certain segments happen and they’re bouncing off of that version of the song, so that’s awesome.
M.E: Do you have a favourite track from the EP? Frank: I guess best friends, I mean, that song holds a special place in my heart and the fact that my kids kind of approved it, too, they were like “Yeah, that’s pretty good”. M.E: What age are they now?! Well, the girls are seven, and Miles is five.
M.E: What were you listening to right now, and what were you listening to writing the record? Frank: Oh man, just right now, I was listening to new Weezer songs, which are phenomenal. The Paceshifters record just came out, I think that’s a fantastic record. The new Homeless Gospel Choir record is amazing. The new Culture Abuse single, I guess it’s old now, but I love that. The new Liam Gallagher, we like!
M.E: I feel like, despite being a frontman where a lot of people focus on your vocals, you manage to make every project you’ve been involved with so far (MCR, Death Spells, LeATHERMOUTH) sound so different. How does it feel to play with so many different genres in that way? Frank: Yeah, I think it’s because I just love making music so much and I enjoy so many different types of music that it kind of just makes sense to branch out and make things with different people and try different, new things. It keeps me interested and keeps me inspired, I like to have so many different projects because I feel like if I hit a wall with something else, like, a creative wall, I can go to something else that opens up my head and opens doors, you know?
M.E: How does having a family back home change the approach to touring and live performance, and all of those things? Frank: It’s harder, you definitely get more homesick, and you try to tour smarter as opposed to harder, but it’s one of those things where I think you have to have really understanding loved ones, that, you know? M.E:That appreciate what you’re doing? Yeah, and that get that you’re doing it for the best for everybody.
M.E What is the first thing you’re going to do when you get home? Frank: Spend time with my kids, the girls are in soccer right now so I want to try to get to a soccer game.
@kayleighewing_ asked: What made you decide to do full Scotland dates, like Aberdeen and Edinburgh, whereas most people will focus solely on Glasgow? It’s very much appreciated. Frank: I think because, after this UK run, we have a couple more shows for the rest of this year and then I’m going to take some time off. I think it was important for me to try to hit as many places as humanly possible, we’ve always had really great Scotland shows and it’s fun to go to new cities and play new venues that we’ve never played before.
How do you keep yourself busy/stop yourself from getting bored on tour? Well, usually you have a lot of things during the day, but also, there is a lot of “hurry up and wait” kind of stuff. We take a lot of walks and see as much of the city as we possibly can. You’re good here, then! There’s a lot of history in Edinburgh. Yeah, I think it’s really inspiring to get to walk around and look at things. I mean, where I come from everything is very new, so you feel the history in a city like this, and I think that kinds helps remind you, in my job, how much bigger the world is than just your view.
Gaby and @aya_lmao asked: How do you feel about so many people being dedicated enough to follow a tour and travel as far as they do to see you play? The queue outside is crazy tonight. Yeah? Man, it’s amazing. I feel very lucky to have that type of fan base and those type of people that care that much to want to come to multiple shows, and stay and come early and wait, and see all of the bands on the tour. That means a lot. You feel that support, you feel that love, and that makes you want to put on a good show every night for them. I know a lot of people have fanbases that aren’t that dedicated and I feel very blessed to have that, it’s amazing.
@penceyprick asked: What were your favourite pedals and amps to use on “Parachutes”? On “Parachutes”, I used a Fender Tone Master, head, mostly. I think some of the clean tones are through a VOX AC30, and the main distorted tone is a Keeley modded Blues Driver, and sometimes I’ll have a chorus and a reverb kind of going through that as well, so, you always have that little open weave. There’s a little bit of tremolo on there, I use the boss tremolo, the green one, and… I’m trying to think! There’s a little bit of memory man in there in some parts, but the main tone is the Fender Tone Master with the Keeley modded boss Blue Driver.
How do you manage to get through days when you experience creative blocks? Do you have any methods to overcome those moments? Honestly, I like to keep multiple projects going where I can jump back and forth and really explore other options and different musical stylings, that really helps. Sometimes you just have to know when to bust through the block and when kind of just leave it alone. Sometimes just living your life is a good way to get around that block.
@pussyliquorband asked: Any advice for new bands starting out? Just don’t be full of shit. Basically, do it because you have to do it, don’t do it because you expect anything in return.
@fordangeroushumans on Instagram asked: Have you ever considered recording a full album on analog tape? Do you feel as though there’s a difference between that and digital? I have found that a lot of musicians say that it makes music feel more human/real. Well, yeah! Keep The Coffins Coming was on tape. The drums on Parachutes is all tape and then, that was bounced down and recorded digitally over the top of that, so the guitars- Actually, a lot of that, I think, was recorded on tape and bounced down, so yeah, both of those records are to tape, but Steve’s studio is a full studio, so.
@coffeeandavocados on Instagram asked: If you were in a post-apocalyptic comic book world, what kind of character would you be? Survival/fighter/leader etc? … Dead, I’d be a dead character.

14, 17 & 24, pls!
Oh hey thanks! :DDD This is for the Pretentious music fan asks -thingy. To be honest, I didn’t even understand why pretentious, I just saw the text “music fan asks” and had to hit reblog XD
14. the smiths, mac demarco, tyler, the creator, joy division, brockhampton, the strokes, the cure, frank ocean, neutral milk hotel, radiohead, kendrick lamar, the beatles, weezer, death grips; you can only keep three, which ones will you chose?
OH MY GOD I was so afraid of this question!!! XD Because believe it or not, I do not listen to any of these and of some I’ve actually never even heard of. I won’t be naming any because of reasons but I think I’d keep the ones that have influenced the people who are in my favorite bands :DDD Because without those bands, my favorites’ music would not be the same! Good luck to you all try and figure out which ones I mean ;D (Hint: I’m not talking about just one favorite band, but [some of] these have actually influenced several of them.)
17. do you think going to a big venue is worth it to see an artist live?
After seeing Rammstein 4 times at bigger venues because they no longer do nor can do smaller venues, I’d say yes :DDD 3 out of 4 were at festivals tho, and the 4th at a stadium that had as many people there as there’s people living in my town alone (over 30 000). But I still prefer smaller venues because of the athmosphere and because you’re then able to see more, especially when I’m this short, I don’t know if I can even say if I have actually SEEN Rammstein with my own eyes even altough I’ve been to 4 of their concerts so far :D (Okay I have seen head here and there!!!) But I think Rammstein is a different anyway, they have this huge light and fire show that you can admire even if you were so far you didn’t see the people there (I’ve never been that far but I just can’t see much from behind all of those other people), but if it’s a band that does not invest in special effects that much, then I don’t know if that so much of a fun, especially if you’d basically need binoculars to even see the stage. But I still think being to a concert is such an amazing experience that it’s always worth it, you can’t really find that kind of feeling from anywhere else.
24. what artist do you think influenced your style the most?
I have to answer to this as “what bands influenced my style the most” :D Well, maybe a bit mainstream story but I was 15 when I found about MCR and slowly I started to wear more black - surprise! But I was still wearing colors too and mainly blue jeans, I was still a bit afraid of dressing up only in black, I was kinda afraid of people noticing me better for that. GG, social anxiety :DD But already then I started to kinda dream of black hair, I really liked how it looked on other people and I wish I’d had black hair too. I had never dyed my hair and my own color is “golden blond” or something, and it got really long because I also didn’t want it to be cut more than 3cm at once because I was ALSO afraid of people pointing it out if it was cut too much at once lol. And at some point I was like... if I’m going to dye my hair at some point, I’ll do either orange (thanks to Vyvyan from the British sit-com The Young Ones :D) or black. Around that time I also got my first studded belt and at some point my first leatherette jacket.
Then time passed and I didn’t do anything, I just dressed in black more but I’m not exactly sure when did I give up on colored clothes. I started having some self-esteem problems with my body and I started to wear black only because it made me feel better about myself and I felt like it helped me hide my body better.
Then in 2009 I found Die Ärzte. And I started to dream of black hair yet again but I was too scared to actually do anything. But I had still talked about dä to my aunt (who cuts out hair) and used something about them as an example for how to cut my hair, even tho it wasn’t even close WHICH I’M HAPPY ABOUT THO XD But then in January 2010 I just... I don’t know what happened but I finally decided to dye my hair black and I’m really happy that I did. I’ve been dyeing my hair black every month ever since :D
And talking of the style, well, my style was already lots of black before dä, and when my last blue jeans broke, I got myself black jeans and I actually haven’t gone back to blue jeans ever since. And there’s actually lots of/some things in Bela’s style from the late 80s and early 90s that I guess I have adopted to my style as well, but it’s all been such a slow process that I haven’t even noticed it myself really. Just one day I looked into a mirror or took a photo or something and it hit me and I was like “...wait a minute? This looks... familiar? Oh noes.” :D
So yeah, there’s what has influenced me with my style, but mainly I’ve just bought clothes I’ve felt good in but I just seem to have bit similar taste with some of those people :D
