it was something about me asking which part of the body do you personally draw first, or something like that, and i said i always start with the head and face. please take all the time you need to answer :)

Ty ty I was a ball of anxiety and exhaustion yesterday because my Bulldog had to go into a three hour surgery to fix her torn CCL (our ACL) and short nosed dogs don't do well with anesthesia. So now I'm a ball of anxiety and awakened-ness for the next oh... 16 weeks :,,) But none the less! I just tested something, and Tumblr actually didnt eat your asks, I've just been on my phone a lot and I don't think there is a specific place?? for asks, theyre just in your activity? Which gets lost easily, but to answer your question!

I do the same! It's the easiest way for my brain to reference how the rest of the body should be proportioned. There have been plenty of times where I get an arm or leg I like but doesn't fit what I'm doing, so I then move it to a different canvas and struggle until I give up with making a body that fits. (And now that I think about it I could just... make the rest of the body then resize one piece to fit the other but... alas I am a fool) Other wise I also think I personally start with the head because, for the most part I sketch out most of the details ie, eyes mouth ect. while most tutorials have you make the whole body before doing any kind of work like that. But that way of sketching just ain't my thing, especially since I have a hard time picturing things in my head. I usually start with the head and an emotion to then dictate the rest of the drawing... I really go into it blind.
