No. I’m not. I’m so excited for next weekend’s ep, I am already doing a random ramble about the preview images. DX

Well… Here we go.

Timeline? What is timeline? XD I’m just gonna go in the order they appear on the website, but I have no idea if that’s actually the order they will occur in in the episode proper.

Hello, Prime Minister Kano whose surname I forget, nice to make your acquaintance. Even if I don’t trust you. So I’m noting an association w/ white for this lady, w/ her light coloured clothes, the white roses, even the white hospital room, and, of course:

Since we’ve only seen the ‘students’ (as in, our main team) have these, and not anyone else, not even the Masters, makes me very curious as to why she has it and who it belongs to—her, or someone else? We’ve seen no other suit, so either they’ve kept it a secret—which is unlikely, why cheat themselves out of a potential action figure—so it’s unlikely that another Ryusoulger will actually appear, but it does raise the possibility of whether there used to be at least one more Ryusoulger and they died, maybe even recently. Alternatively, these pendants mean something else. But leaving that mystery, next on the list is what I assume is the team (sans my boys) discovering the rumours about Kano, and maybe realising she’s Ryusoul:

Featuring what might be a… Bear costume in the back? … What. I have priorities. I must notice random things in the background of everything. Next is a shot of the four little sibs trying to fight the Mummy Minusaur. My first guess is that this is happening while Banba is talking to Kano at the hospital, and that’s why he’s not there. There’s several shots which seem to take place in this location in the fight, identifiable bc of yellow lines on the ground:

Other images include Kou using a Soul, him trying to mediate between Melto and Asuna, who are apparently having a fight, and the little sibs doing the ending of the rollcall. Interluding is this image:

Again w/ the white roses. She’s got kind of an evil slump here, but I’m attributing that to her being a Minusaur host and not feeling well. I’m just not getting ‘evil’ vibes from her in general. Perhaps indifferent, and having made some questionable choices regarding information or other things, but I don’t think she’s evil. Of course, I could end up being proved completely wrong, we’ll see. There’s this shot of the brothers facing the Minusaur:

Which is a better image of the Minusaur. My guess is this is the fight where they end up getting tied up in the ‘bandages’ from the preview. An image that seems to be from the same location is this one:

…Excuse me while I get distracted by how utterly gorgeous Banba looks in this image. DX This is either before or after the fight pictured above. It looks like it’s in the same place, but it’s either them detransforming after the Minusaur gets away, or talking or something before it arrives. Though… So Kano’s apparently bargaining information about their Master(s) for defeating her Minusaur—however, she’s notably saying she wants it defeated after its completion. Which… Would mean she’d be dead, and couldn’t tell them anything. So either she’s got the information hidden somewhere, or she knows something, whether about how Minusaurs work, even just in relation to Ryusoul Tribe members, or something else. I dunno if they’re going to go the way of them choosing to save her rather than go w/ the deal—I mean… How would she justify not telling them, after admitting she has the information, if they did that? I’m curious to see where they’ll go w/ it, and excited for some background info on my sons. And, of course, lastly:

There’s a cursed armour in the hospital! DX I am very much hoping, though w/out getting any expectations up, that this means Gaisoulg is related to the brothers’ past. Esp given that they apparently don’t know what became of their Master(s), and that Kano apparently decided it was better not to tell them or that the info was big/heavy enough that she could save it for as a bargaining chip (depending on how sympathetic she’s meant to be), it could be that… Maybe someone ended up w/ the Gaisoulg armour? Either way, Master Black (and maybe Green, but most likely Master Black), has now moved up the list of potential suspects for who betrayed Banba. Not the prime suspect, don’t have one yet, but they’ve moved up on the list.

And to tack an image on the end, esp bc I don’t know when in the ep it happens:

Kou shielding Melto from the pointer finger, I guess? Apparently Melto and Asuna are arguing, and so are Tyramigo and DimeVolcano. Personally, I don’t blame Tyramigo. But I hope Melto and Asuna work it out. (Yes, yes, I know they obviously will bc Sentai! XD)

Touwa looks kinda shocked, though. Have you not met her or something, honey? Darn, I was planning to ask if she did this often.

… So Nada claims Banba doesn’t know about Master Green using Gaisoulg???

But… Then why did Banba react like that to Touwa bringing up Gaisoulg knowing their Master’s words??? Like, why would he go all shifty-eyed and avoid eye contact??? (Also presuming they were Master Green’s advice, why did Banba say them like he’d heard them from the source when he’d’ve had to have heard them second hand from Master Black???)

But seriously, Banba reacted like he was harbouring some big secret about Gaisoulg--but if he didn’t know any of this stuff, just knew that M.s G and B had fought the Druidon five hundred years ago and that Gaisoulg was an armour that was created millennia that went evil and gained sentience… Why couldn’t he just say that??? Why did he get all weird and dramatic about it??? Like, even for someone as close-lipped as Banba, none of that seems heavy enough to be secretive about.

So either Nada is lying/Nada is wrong and Banba does know about this stuff, or Banba knows something else about this that made him get all shifty.

And while I’m asking questions, I’m still frustrated we still don’t know anything about this alleged ‘betrayal’ that happened to Banba. Was it related to this? If not, what was it? Who was it? It’s highly unlikely to be Nada, bc if it were, I really doubt he’d’ve let Nada alone w/ the kids. Why did he say things like ‘people will always betray you’ and ‘kindness makes you weak’??? Can we please get more about Banba’s past than ‘one time he turned down a girl who wanted to date him’???

Ahem. I’m sorry. I’m okay, I’m okay. I’m just frustrated and venting. I’m not really mad. I’m just kinda frustrated. I’m still absolutely giving the show the benefit of the doubt. Give how very much not a resolution this all is, I don’t think they’d be foolish enough to leave the brothers’ subplot like this. I hope. DX

Here’s the thing.

There’s a rumour (there seem to be several forms of it?) that we’re gonna get a RyusoulWhite who is a lady and is gonna have Kishiryu.

Now, this is not me saying that I do not want this to be true. It would be cool if this were true.

But personally? I find it unlikely. And there’s something else.

Given certain things, though, including some mixed signals/indications from the series, people are assuming it’s the PM.

I am ninety-nine point nine percent sure it is not gonna be her—at least, not if the rumours about White having Kishiryu are true.

Primary reason? The actress is thirty nine years old. Now, in life, that’s not old. But this is a kids’ show. Specifically a kids’ show in Japan, where my impression is that, esp when it comes to women, in media, they tend to scale younger. And, I mean, in this situation, it makes a certain amount of sense; they want kids to see these ‘young, energetic heroes’ and relate to them etc. Especially in recent Sentai; Keisuke being thirty three I think is the oldest we’ve gone w/ a core senshi—and he was a guy. For female characters? I don’t think we’ve ever seen one over thirty (core senshi, I mean—I’m not forgetting MagiMother, I mention her below). I find it distinctly unlikely (not impossible, mind you) that they will introduce someone close enough to being a core Ranger as to have personal, unique mecha, w/ an actress of that age.

Now, I should note that people aren’t making this guess w/out evidence. There is the thing w/ her having the pendant. However, the stuff about the Kishiryu themselves is also pretty suspect; apparently the source it originated from isn’t the most reliable, and another version of the rumour I saw was listing alleged release dates and prices… Except it included the GaisoulKen, and while they did get the release date… The price is wrong by 2,000 yen (are the characters for three and five easy to mix up? Alternatively, do they write them in Arabic numerals? Bc that would make it even harder to mix up). Also, the creatures listed are a dolphin and sea lion. I realise we have a Tigersaurus, but a smilodon (or even a mammoth, should one appear), are creatures that, at the very least, are generally vaguely associated w/ dinosaurs in media. They’re from the same ‘ancient creatures’ category. Breaking out a sea lion and/or a dolphin… Feels like too massive a break from the main theme, even for Toei. Besides, they’ve proven themselves capable of identifying water-living dinosaurs—why not use something else from the Mosasaurus family? The fact that these alleged Kishiryu are marine animals at all is also suspect, combined w/ another version of the rumour I saw that alleged this ‘seventh member’ would be from the Sea Tribe. The PM cannot be from the Sea Tribe. Not just bc she knows Banba, who we know for a fact is from the village of the Land Tribe, but bc she specifically says that she left the village three hundred years ago. It has also been stated that the Sea and Land Tribes broke it off during the initial conflict millions of years ago. For her to be from the Sea Tribe, she would have had to leave the sea and move to the village, then in turn leave the village—which, given what we know, seems unlikely, since the two branches seem to be feuding and she specifies her reason for leaving being that she wanted a normal life (plus, since the Sea Tribe’s apparently declining… They really gonna just let folk leave like that?).

Now, I am specifically saying that I don’t think she’ll be ‘officially joining’ the core team and have unique mecha of her own—there is still the matter of her having the necklace. My guess is that, if they do have a seventh, and it be her, it will be a MagiMother situation (esp since she’s around the age that actress was), where she’s sort of an ‘eleventh hour ranger’ who comes to help in the last few battles. That wouldn’t surprise me. But I highly doubt we’ll see her as a ‘main’ team member w/ designated Kishiryu. It’s not impossible, of course. Toei could very easily surprise me. But I doubt it.

We do have other options—there’s Oto. But the actress is twelve, and I’m not convinced they’re gonna break out another ���kid’ senshi so soon after the last one (like, technically she’s probably a hundred fifty or something, but the actress is twelve and looks it), esp not the first girl. In contrast to the PM actress being above the usual age range, she’s below it. Again, not impossible, but I doubt it (and while she is from the Sea Tribe… My thoughts on what the alleged Kishiryu allegedly are still apply).

Other option is Ui. But the whole concept clashes rather drastically w/ her. She’s more associated w/ yellow than white (and I would love to see her become RyusoulYellow). On the other hand, we currently don’t know whether she has any connection to the Sea Tribe or the Ryusoul Tribe in general (but the sea lion and dolphin remain suspicious choices).

Last option: new character. This… Seems to me possible the most unlikely.

This is, also, assuming that there will be a ‘seventh’ at all, which I also doubt. They’re playing back to the basics w/ this season (don’t get me wrong, I love the basics), and I’m still getting very Zyuranger and Gingaman vibes, which notably both only went to six members (something a number of the older Sentais did, post Zyuranger). My guess is that Ryusoulger will do the same, w/ the possible exception of someone using the Gaisoulg armour for good, which wouldn’t technically be a seventh ‘Ryusoulger.’

Now, like I said, Toei could still prove me wrong. If it all does happen, that’d be really cool (I’d just have to fiddle about w/ the colours for my ocs again XD). It would be a little ‘break’ from the norm in show that they’re mostly playing safe. Would be an interesting twist.

Though… I do have to admit… Not feeling the dolphin/sea lion thing. Even if everything else is true… I hope that isn’t. I’d accept crocodiles, those guys are billions of years old. But dolphins and sea lions?

(I should note—I originally saw this in the same set of rumours that claimed Daigo was related to Gaisoulg. Given how that’s very unlikely (and something I sincerely hope is false), it would also cast doubt on the whole of these rumours as well. Also: NONE of this is confirmed. These are just my thoughts on some unverified rumours.)

… ‘Is this foreshadowing?’ ramblings, w/ a dash of ‘is this symbolic?’

Miss PM’s (her name is Kano, I should really start calling her that, it’s actually easier to type than ‘Miss PM’) Minusaur is… Well… It’s meant to be a mummy, I’m presuming.

So. Is this symbolic? I mean, Minusaurs usually are, to some degree, even if it’s just their powers.

Mummies are, like, sort of associated w/ ancient secrets, I guess? Like, usually they stereotypically ‘guard tombs’ and come to life to ward off invaders and pillagers. So… Is the negative emotion something about keeping secrets—please, I beg, forgive the terrible puns, I’m trying to make connections—‘wrapped up,’ or ‘under wraps’? The pun is awful, but it’s an association I wouldn’t put past Sentai. Bc it seems like she has been keeping secrets, not just as a member of the Ryusoul Tribe, but specifically from the brothers regarding their original Master(s) (it seems that there were two, I’m just a creature of habit). I’m still hoping the fact that this ep is Gaisoulg’s large debut means he/it/they is indeed related to the brother’s past in some way. Not necessarily the armour itself, since neither recognised it when Rita used it, but the person inside, I mean. Like, say… Maybe one of their Masters became Gaisoulg somehow? *looks promptingly at Toei* Now, I don’t really think Kano is evil, at least, not right now. There doesn’t seem to be an evidence indicating it, anyway. My current more sympathetic theory is that she kept whatever the info is from the brothers in an attempt to protect them—on the other side, my less sympathetic theory is that she kept it a secret so that she could use it as a bargaining chip or something later, say for something like this.

My last question remains… How long has she been in office? Like… I feel like it would be really difficult to disguise her Ryusoul lifespan to the point that there are only rumours about her… What are the laws regarding who can run for PM in Japan? Did she fake childhood photos? What did she tell the people who faked those photos? How long has she been in the public eye? Why am I trying to apply logic to Sentai? XD I doubt they’ll get too much into that outside of ‘people are suspicious bc she doesn’t seem to age’ etc. But it’s wild to think about the hoops she must have jumped through to keep it… A secret.
