#i don't even really hate madoka i just hate the fans that treat it like it's something really special & a subversion of magical girl tropes#I honestly enjoyed watching Madoka and playing Magia Record i have Tsuruno and Ashley stickers on my PC#it's just#it's not a subversion#nor does it really do anything too unique except being very heavy handed with the suffering the girl's go through#to the point it feels voyeuristic instead of character driven#like they point to kyubey or the tone and say 'deconstruction' when those are just. in the genre already.#the only thing that comes close to a deconstruction of the genre is the 'hope' at the end is a bandage at best and even THAT'S not new#hell Sailor Moon did two out three of those#anyways my thoughts are Madoka is good but not for the reasons most of its fans say it is and it isn't THAT good either#overhyped
