A part of me thinks that our Lilia is going to just yeet the baby at his past self. Deja vu right?? Don’t worry, he knows himself and knows the General will catch the little one.

After flicking Lilia on the forehead for his actions and letting Mal and Sil deal with him, you go to the General who’s frozen. He caught her of course, but he seems stumped on what to do.

You can’t blame him really. After being in war and seeing and dealing with what he has. This peace and quiet must be new, not to mention being in the future.

So you go to him and as gently as possible, making sure to not frighten him, move his hands so he’s more comfortably holding the baby.

Unknown to him, but his eyes softened as the little one curled into him while making cooing noises. You know your Lilia is taking a bunch of pictures.

“See? You’re a natural.”

He looks at you in disbelief but you can see the amazement in them too.

You tell him how he has no choice but to hold the baby now because she will cry if you move her from her new favorite spot. He flusters a bit at that.

Time goes on, General Vanrouge wears casual clothing and hangs up his armor temporarily after Lilia had a talk with him. His weapon is with him, you all understand why. His need to protect what’s his is engraved even though he doesn’t see it yet.

[Sometimes you see your Lilia looking at the armor. His eyes mixed with emotions. You simply lay your head on his shoulder; he kisses your hand]

The General gets attached to your daughter. She babbles at him and pulls at his hair. He tries not to flinch. For someone who was against raising kids, the General doesn’t say anything when your daughter stuffs his hair into her mouth or drools on him as she sleeps.

Lilia’s proud, “that’s my girl!” is often heard.

At one point, you take pity on him. You take a hairbrush, running it carefully through his hair before tying it in a high bun. You fondly roll your eyes at the pout your Lilia has before taking your daughter to feed. For the General’s sake, you chose not to comment on his flustered expression.

Our Lilia is repeatedly saying “spoilers” which irritates the General whenever he asks a question. You get why it’s frustrating but the scene is rather funny and your baby girl’s laughter agrees with you.

“I won’t have you ruining my future! I’ll have you know I wouldn’t change anything for the happiness I have now, so you have to be patient.”

Malleus and Silver both have the sweetest smile. They know exactly what he means.

The General watches how his future self acts. You can see the slight scowl and twitch of his eyebrow. He’s questioning his whole existence.

What surprises you is his question to you.

“Are you sure you want to be married to that?”

“Hey!”

You laugh softly, tenderly tucking a stray strand behind his ear, “Yes. He’s you, isn’t he?”

The smile you give him then has him falling deeper unbeknownst to him.

He found you on the shore of Piltover, passed out on the sand, at everyone’s mercy... As a medic, he immediately jumped into action, jumping over the guardrails and sliding down the sand dune to reach you.  

No life was yet lost under his care, and he did not intend to start losing some now! He just wished Maddie was here to help, depending on your state he could have needed a second pair of hands for assistance. He kneeled next to your still form, searching for open wounds on your flanks and back before gently rolling you, revealing your face to his gaze. 

And that he should not have... 

The second he laid eyes on your face he went still like electrocuted, shocked beyond belief. 

Was it possible?  

Was such perfection truly of this world? 

Could so many wonderful features melt into the perfect face? Bringing to life what artists pained to illustrate on canvas and carve into stone? Centuries of artistic research for the most pleasing face are now useless and dated for he found the most beautiful being on Runeterra 

In his daze, Steb managed to get a hold of himself and check the rest of your body for possible wounds, leading him to take a weird layer of fur off your hips and legs that he intently detailed, a murmur in his head prompting him that it was important.

Steb hastily and modestly covered your naked body with his blue jacket and hid your face with your fur.

They would lie and say it is for your good but they would keep you for themself! He... He must protect you! At all costs! From everyone! Anyone! 

He snaked his arm under you and lifted you up bridal style with ease and climbed the dune back under Maddie’s and Caitlyn’s attentive gazes. They rushed to him, already craving you for themself and ready to steal you from him! 

He had to maintain his self-control to not sprint away with you secured in his embrace, they would have definitely known what precious package he had. 

“Dear gods, are they... dead?” Caitlyn demanded discovering your limp form. 

Steb was about to hiss at her to make her back down, but... 

He gravely nodded to his superior, stopping her from taking the jacket off your face. 

“Oh... That’s why you covered their face... What a tragedy... I am sorry you had to discover them Steb, it is never a nice experience...” She let her hand fall back to her side with a pained expression, “Those waters are so treacherous...” 

Steb nodded once again before clearing his throat. 

“Of course, Steb. Take them away, you know what to do. I hope we will find their family quickly, the news will not be easy to bring.” 

He felt his cheek fins waving uncontrollably before forcing them still. He slightly bowed to his two partners and turned away from them, walking away with his heart in a frenzy. 

He did it! 

He protected you! 

But now he has the entire city to cross and as many dangers...  

He will protect you! Until his dying breath! 

Steb takes a deep breath and sits down next to you, observing you with delight. Behind him the open fire burns bright, illuminating the room and offering a nice warmth. He immediately locked the door of his house and locked all the shutters. He laid you down on his own bed... 

Well, your bed now! You will share it from now on.  

He puts his head in his hands, his elbows on his knees, and just... observes, looks, details, takes in all the magnificence of your appearance, feeling his mouth stretching into a satisfied smile. 

Oh, you are just so beautiful... And also so fragile, he will need to watch over you all the time! To keep you safe and sound. So many people rotted to the core run across the city, he cannot let your purity get soiled by evil and ill people!

He immediately starts signing, explaining how he found you lying on the beach, unconscious and defenseless, and how he immediately rushed to you to help and... 

You lose interest in his gibberish and look around the room, illuminated only by the fire, and you... Wince 

It smells horrible in here! Like... burnt hair! Like...! 

You immediately lift the covers off yourself, searching frantically until Steb grabs your face between his two hands, with a gentle smile and sparkly eyes. You gulp as his third eyelids blink, he appears so pleased. 

He gently turns your head toward the fire... And you cannot refrain the scream escaping you. 

Your fur! Your fur! Your liberty! Your freedom! Your... 

Steb immediately presses you against his tall body in a soothing manner, caressing your hair and kissing the top of your head as he feels your sharp nails digging into the flesh of his arms to let you go. 

You struggle in his embrace with sobs and fury, but he doesn’t let go, welcoming your scratches and bites as many delicate and soft caress that he will forever hold close to his heart...

This chapter was quite an interesting one...! 🤔 Especially with how it ended...!! 😲

This our first chapter of the year and did not disappoint...!! So let's us discuss this chapter shall we...? 👍

So, this chapter begins like this:

MELINDA STOP, THAT'S SOOO FREAKING ADORABLE!!! 💗😆

I just love the fact that Yor told Melinda about Loid's "concussive therapy" in the last chapter and because of that, we now get this gem of a reaction from her meeting Loid for the first time...!! 💗🤭💗

After that, it's time for Melinda's therapy session with Twilight...! Melinda tells him that Yor is the reason that she decided to come in, which Twilight acknowledges as an inadvertent assistance from Yor for the mission. After that, Loid lists off all of Melinda's symptoms and asks what might've triggered them, but she doesn't respond... Loid then tries to reassure her, which led to Melinda to say this to him:

Melinda... 🥲

After that, Twilight ponders why Melinda does not consider herself as a lively person, but she's still too anxious to give a full answer... So Twilight tries to reassure her again, but this time...:

It feels completely unsettling to me...!! 😰 Like, the way Twilight's drawn here with his inner thoughts just gives me bad vibes, but that's the thing with the characters of this series, most of them are grey characters...! Twilight may want to make a better world, but in order for him to achieve this as a spy, he has to do things like manipulation in order get the information he needs to help stop people like Donovan Desmond from causing more harm... And though he's only thinking of his mission currently, we have seen him go against what would've been more beneficial to the mission before (like deciding not to kill Yuri for Yor's sake back in Mission 83), so it's definitely possible that Twilight won't push Melinda too far, but we'll have to wait and see...!

Moving on, after sending her bodyguard Nora away, Melinda remarks that Twilight doesn't seem like a doctor (which immediately made me scared for a second that she might've figured out that Twilight was a spy) and proceeds to mention that she was a patient at Twilight's hospital a long time ago...:

Melinda then tells Twilight that she's here as a mother and a wife, which makes him come to that conclusion to ask if her distress involves her family, and then Melinda asks Twilight...:

HIS REACTION TO HER QUESTION GOT ME CACKLING!! 👏🤣🤣🤣

Twilight not knowing how to respond to that tries to figure out the best thing to say here by saying that he too is interested in UFOs, but it doesn't seem to work, so asks if UFOs have anything to do with Melinda's family, and her response was THIS:

WHAAAAAAAAT!?!? 😵

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!? 😱 DOES THIS CONFIRM THAT DONOVAN HAS POWERS LIKE ANYA, OR COULD SHE BE IMPLYING THAT THE "REAL" DONOVAN WAS REPLACED BY AN ALIEN...?! I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW WHAT IT COULD BE...!! 😫
