Listen. I have always been a dino kid at heart. I fucking love dinosaurs.
> so I was listening to a dino podcast and they interviewed the author of some dinosaur shapeshifter series.
> I’m like. This sounds ridiculous but I need to see if it’s on my library app.
> got the audiobook which is read by Kirt Graves who does a bunch of excellent MM romance audiobook readings
> just listened to the entire first book of the 5 book series and I honestly fucking loved it. It was like listening to a fanfiction trope romance novel but also with dinosaur animorphs.
> fucking in love with the main two characters.. went onto ao3 and there’s only 1 fic for the entire series / fandom
> I’m about to make it my problem to make more works for this because jesussususjs is the switch / teasing energy strong with these boys
> the series is called RELIC by Maz Maddox and the first book is called Smash & Grab

belated book asks, thank you for indulging me!
1- What book are you currently reading? bros karamazov, 2/3s through atm.
i hate that i’m thinking about pathologic (video game) the entire time but i can't help it. the way characters are constantly bursting into people's houses & going "you’re an angel, you're the best person i've ever met, you're a saint" to someone they just met 5 minutes ago is so. distinct. i joked on twitter that the first half of the book is just alyosha running around completing sidequests, which i still think is true, but once i got to the grand inquisitor part i was like "Okay mr dostoevsky, you’ve got me."
Tumblr media
2- What book did you recently finish? "selections from science & sanity" by alfred korzybski, recently featured in the gumby quotes. a while back i listened to a 6 hour long interview with robert anton wilson where he talks about korzybski & general semantics so i gave it a shot. it's an abridged version of a 900 page book & i definitely plan on reading the full work at some point, it's wild. if you’re interested in language, consciousness, the gap between words & meaning, and/or hacking your brain i would recommend it. he repeats himself a lot but that's a side effect of his pedagogy, the goal of which is the eventual re-wiring of your entire nervous system in order to achieve a more rational worldview/healthier reactions to things. (so repetition via words/sounds/actions is necessary 2 engage the organism-as-a-whole.) the most important takeaway for me is that everything & everyone you interact with is a completely unique object, and this necessarily extends to temporality-- Bob in 1999 is NOT the same person as Bob in 2010, and treating them as though they were is a harmful mistake. interestingly enough, im taking a class with J.F. martel (weird studies podcast, author of "reclaiming art in the age of artifice") & last night he said what amounts to exactly the same thing, except he was arguing for like, a soft animism (i-thou vs. i- it) & korzybski was arguing for a more "rational" & secular world. so fascinating.
Tumblr media
3- What’s a book that’s been on your to-read list for a long time? ulysses. i know. i know. i have a copy but keep bouncing off of it. idk why, i liked portrait of the artist as a young man. i think i’m worried i’ll turn into this person:
Tumblr media
4- What’s the next book you’re hoping to read? i just got "speech play: research & resources for the study of linguistic creativity" in the mail so probably that. i'm on a childlore kick rn & this is like... horizontally related 5- Is there a book you own, but aren’t planning on reading?
around 2 years ago i was walking home after a show high on E & i ran into a guy i had met at work a couple times. went over to his apartment because MDMA is like, "everything is SO meaningful and SO much fun." i barely remember our conversation but he ended up being like "you would like this book, here take it, i have 3 copies." so i now own a copy of "the eater of darkness" by robert m coates. i still haven't read it. the moral of this story is [???]
Tumblr media
6- What was your favorite series as a kid? Would you still read it now? so many of you asked this question :P
THE TRUTH: i was obsessed with lotr from age 8 to 13 with a level of dedication that i've never known since. yes, i would still read it now. i reread the silmarillion last year & it was naturally a way more rewarding experience than when i was a kid! 8- Fantasy or sci-fi? i like & have read a lot of older sf/f (le guin asimov pkd etc etc) but im not actively into either nowadays. i read whatever reaches me from the queer sf/f twitter pipeline (like whatever's on wizards vs lesbians) but otherwise dont pay much attention. so the answer is "idk!!!”
12- Have you ever read a celebrity memoir? If so, whose was it? the only memoir i've read in recent years has been "memories, dreams, reflections" so if jung counts as a celebrity, there you go 14- Fiction or non-fiction? non-fiction in both quantity of books owned & what i prefer reading. i almost view them as 2 separate activities bc the motivation for & experience of reading them are so wildly different 15- Favorite fiction genre? i know i said im not "actively into" sci fi but 16- Favorite non-fiction genre? "philosophy" i guess. i also really love any phenomenological/experience-based studies of paranormal stuff, like "the terror that comes in the night" by david hufford or anything by jacques vallée. basically books that both a) take strange experiences seriously & b) examine/catalogue them scientifically (to whatever degree).
Tumblr media
22- How do you organize your books? “poorly” 26- What’s your favorite book? fav non-fiction book: “time loops” by eric wargo. what if freud's career-making "irma dream" was a premonitory dream about the oral cancer that would severely impede his quality of life in his old age? (fantastic blog entry by the author, serves as a kind of intro to this topic: http://thenightshirt.com/?p=4326 )
when i read “time loops” it felt like everything i had ever read (& will ever read future tense) was for the sole purpose of understanding it. “time loops” picks up where J.W. dunne's 1927 "an experiment with time" left off. i won't say too much more about it but everyone should read it. it's so smart & engaging & will totally blow your miiiind, maaaan speaking of "an experiment with time," in 1964 a guy named vladimir nabokov began an experiment of his own following the directions dunne laid out in his book. dunne encouraged readers to write down their dreams in order to test the theory that a later event could generate an earlier dream.
nabokov’s experiment with dreams & time strongly influenced “ada or ardor: a family chronicle” which happens to be my favorite novel. i first read it when i was 18, and i've reread it 3 times since then (with the help of ada online, my beloved http://www.ada.auckland.ac.nz/ ) i would not recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t already like nabokov & know what he’s about. it’s fucked up & self indulgent & i love it so much
30- What character do you connect with the most? when jung said he was bad at math? i felt that

The Dewey Decimal System, and Other Love Languages
Alternate Title: Love in the Time of Midterms
Summary: A few weeks into his job at the library, a patron asks Henry where to find “the gay books”, kicking off half a semester of pining.
Henry is finishing shelving a cart of large print books when his life changes forever.
"Excuse me, hi. Do you have any gay books?" The boy asking is around Henry's age. He's short, and he's dressed casually in a polo and jeans, dress shoes and backpack categorizing him as a student at the local college. Henry's brain notes that he's attractive, though Henry refuses to acknowledge that thought.
"Of course! Fiction or nonfiction?"
"Oh. I... I guess either one? I wasn't sure I'd get to pick." Henry isn't offended that this handsome college student wouldn't think there were queer books in the library. He isn't, not in the slightest, offended that he seems to think the library is stuck in the 1940s. He refuses to let the other boy see how not offended he is, and he certainly doesn't use the excuse to show off a bit and display just how many queer books the library has.
"Alright, well, for nonfiction, you're going to want the early 300s for books on gender and sexuality. I believe it's somewhere between 303 and 307, and I want to say 306, but I've only been here a couple weeks and don't know the Dewey decimal system as well as I'd like to. I don't get to shelve much nonfic. If you're looking for fiction, we don't exactly have a queer section, but I could direct you to some that I've enjoyed or heard about."
"That would be good."
"If you like Greek mythology, Madeline Miller's A Song of Achilles is very queer. So are most of Rick Riordan's books, especially his later series. If you like travel novels or adventure books, Mackenzie Lee's The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue has a bi lead, and the sequel focuses on his aro/ace sister. If you're into fantasy or fantastic realism, Maggie Stiefvater's The Raven Cycle has queer characters, and Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows is a heist story with a bunch of queer characters. There's also How to Fix a Mechanical Heart, Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit, and Kiss Number 8 in YA, though I haven't read those. In sci-fi, I haven't gotten around to them, but the Welcome to Night Vale novels under Fink would almost certainly have queer representation. The main character of the podcast is gay. He wrote an Alice Isn't Dead novel, too, and that podcast is about a woman looking for her wife, so I can't imagine the book would be... Sorry; this is probably more than you want." The other boy is typing furiously on his phone, brow furrowed just a bit as he tries to get everything down. The way his tongue pokes out the side of his mouth most certainly isn't the cutest thing Henry has seen all day. He has a dog, after all. David is, objectively, much cuter than a handsome boy seriously taking notes on queer fiction that Henry likes.
"This is good. It's perfect. Thank you," the boy says, still looking at his phone. He looks up a moment later, suddenly quieter, to ask, "Um, another question; do you have any books on mental health?"
"Mid or late 100s I think. They're before mythology in the 200s, but I'm not entirely sure where, sorry."
"No, don't be sorry. You're new. That's perfect. Thank you. Have a nice ga-- day. Have a nice day."
"You, too. If you need anything else, I'm working until six, and I spend a lot of time shelving in the kids room. I'd be happy to help."
"Okay. Yeah, thanks. Have a good one." With that, the boy turns to leave, and Henry finishes shelving his cart, trying to forget the other boy's smile and the way he'd furiously typed every book Henry recommended. He tries to forget the other boy's hesitation to ask about mental health books, the endearing shyness that most definitely did not tug at Henry's heartstrings. After all, there really isn't a point pining over a patron he'll never see again.
-
As it turns out, Henry does see the patron again. He's back a few days later, and Henry looks up just in time to see him dump a massive stack of books into the return slot. He smiles at Henry, making a beeline over to where he's shelving.
"Hi again, um, do you have any cookbooks?"
"Upstairs; 641."
"What the fuck. Hod do you do that?"
"We have a lot of cookbooks, and they're popular. I reshelve them a lot." It's really not that impressive of a thing to know. Some of Henry's coworkers know the Dewey decimal system forwards and backwards, but the other boy is looking at him like he's just done something incredible."
"What else do you have memorized?"
"Um, let's see. World War II is in the 940s. Current politics are in the 900s; The Meuller Report is in the 990s I think. I shelved that a lot. Mythology is in the 200s, folklore and fairy tales and stuff the late 300s. UFOs, cryptids, that kind of thing in the 90s, and computer stuff before that. Hobbies are in the 690s or 790s. Animals are 590s; sharks in particular are... 597? No. 587. I think. Airplanes 626. 808 is short stories, poems are after that and then by 811 you're into plays. Workout and health stuff is before cookbooks, so 639 or 640. Queer and gender stuff 306. Biography 900s is princess books, and 400s are foreign language. Travel is the late 800s or early 900s I think; they're in the back somewhere."
"That's incredible. I thought you said you were new. How long have you been here?" He's so impressed, and Henry isn't sure he's ever felt so proud of something so simple. The fact that this random patron is one of two people in the city to actually compliment him recently certainly doesn't help with the crush he's working hard not to develop.
"About three weeks."
"Holy sh-- cow. You're so smart. How are you this smart?"
Henry feels his face start to go red. "It's just one of those things you pick up."
"Still, it's incredible."
"Thank you. But you needed a cookbook? Any type in particular? We have a pretty large collection, so I can show you the online catalog if you want. It can give you more exact information than I can."
"Yeah, but if you teach me to use the catalogue, I won't have an excuse to come bother you." He winks, leaning against a shelf, and he really doesn't have any business looking so carefree and handsome. He came here to check things out, not get checked out. Not that Henry is doing any checking out.
"Well, I wouldn't mind if you still come bother me. It's a nice break from the monotony. The catalogue could just help for when I'm wrong or not here."
"Alright, fine. I'm not sure how much help a search is going to be, though. I doubt there's a book called What to Make When You Invite Your Family to Your College Apartment to Tell Them You're Bi." He freezes for a second, and Henry knows all too well the sudden nerves, the tense moment of waiting for a reaction.
"If you find one, let me know. I'm sure I could adapt it for being gay," he says, and the other boy relaxes. When he looks up, his smile is back, and he follows Henry to a computer catalogue.
He comes down from the cookbook section nearly an hour later, three cookbooks in his arms. He's headed for the checkout, but he turns when he sees Henry with an empty cart.
"Hey, hi. I, um, well, I found a rainbow cookbook. I'll have to change the colors and things, but I thought maybe I could do something from that? Like a layer cake with a pride flag or something? I mean, I know they'll be okay with it. At least I think they will. My... my dad's pretty catholic, but we have a family friend who's gay and my dad's done a ton to look after and fight for him. We all love him. And my best friend is bi, and they've practically adopted her so it should be okay. I don't... I don't think it'll go badly, but... sorry. This isn't part of your job."
"I don't mind. You're making a cake with a pride flag; what else are you going to make? Would it help to talk it through?"
"Sure. Yeah. I'm thinking elote, since we made that a lot growing up, and one of these has a recipe for doing it on a stovetop instead of a grill. And then I was thinking ribs, but I don't have a grill, so I thought instead I'd make some pulled pork? It's got that barbecue thing that'll go well with the elote, and it's really easy to make a lot, so I can just tell everyone at once and get it over with. And if there's extra I can freeze it."
"I think it sounds good, and it sounds like they'll be happy to support you. I can tell they mean a lot to you; you're lucky to have them. You'll have to let me know how it goes if we bump into each other again."
"I will, yeah. Thank you. You've been wonderful."
"Good luck."
The other boy smiles and goes to check out, and Henry takes his cart back to the staff room, hoping he'll get an update soon.
-
On Monday, the other boy is back, and he comes up to Henry with a giant grin.
"It went well! It was so good. My mom got a bunch of brochures about staying safe, which was awkward but it's how she shows love, and my dad didn't care, and my sister won't stop trying to get me to join tinder so she can set me up with someone. They... they love me, and they don't care that I'm bi. It doesn't matter."
Henry grins. "I'm so happy for you. That's huge."
"Thank you so much for everything. Seriously, talking to you helped a lot."
"It was the least I could do."
"No, it-- I'm trying to say thank you; just let me."
"Alright."
"Thank you for letting me talk to you about coming out. Was that so hard? You're more important to people than you give yourself credit for. Anyway, I've got to run to a thing, but I wanted to stop in and see you. And update you. And thank you. You helped."
He's gone before Henry can respond, but he's surprised to realize he can't stop smiling for the rest of his shift.
-
Over the next few weeks, Henry sees and hears a lot of the things that happen in the library. He hears a little boy complain that there's loud noises in the library, and he hears the woman with that little boy explain that by yelling, he is the loud noise in the library. Henry sees a little girl falling asleep on a parent's lap as they read to her. He sees the handsome boy from before help a fourth grader through her math homework in a tutoring session and hears him talking to a little boy about Nancy Drew. He doesn't see everything, though. He doesn't see the mystery patron re-shelve some of the books that are out of order, making Henry's job easier. He doesn't hear the other boy call his sister on his way out to gush about the cute librarian he just saw teach a mom how to find Percy Jackson books so she could teach her son. What he does get used to seeing, though, is the same cute boy, settled at a table that Henry walks past regularly.
By the time midterms roll around, Henry's gotten used to seeing the other boy in the library. On the first day of midterms week, he's already there when Henry's shift starts. Henry, who has three essays due soon and only one started, plans to stay in the library when he gets off work. If he can't find any open tables, well, it must be due to midterms. He certainly didn't avoid looking in a few less popular places in order to justify going up to the table where his mystery patron is sitting. The other boy looks up with a smile.
"Do you mind if I sit? It's full everywhere else. I swear I'll be quiet; I've just got to draft an essay."
"Not at all. Here; let me slide some stuff over. What's your essay on?"
"Identity and fluidity in Virginia Woolf's Orlando. What are you working on?"
"A study guide for the politics of international economics."
"Sounds thrilling."
"What are you writing on? A book about Florida?" and god, Henry has to fight not to laugh just a bit.
"A book about Virginia Woolf's girlfriend."
"No way. Wasn't she like... old?"
"The 1920s aren't that old; we have examples of queer folks going back to the 400s BCE. Sappho's poetry would be in either the 200s or 808 if we have any, and tons of queer folks from Julie d'Aubigny to Alexander Hamilton are in biographies."
"Maybe later. Tell me about your essay; I can't study anymore."
"Okay, so, this book is a fake biography of a person named Orlando who, halfway through, changes from a man to a woman. I'm arguing that by using water to symbolize major change, Woolf signals to readers that their sex change isn't actually a big deal in their identity. Basically, every time Orlando gets a new opportunity or something else major happens, there's water involved somehow. But when their sex changes, which at first glance is the most drastic thing that happens to them, there's no water anywhere. In fact, there's fire, and that fire is mentioned a few different times. So I'm arguing that this shows readers that gender doesn't actually have that much impact on who someone is, but it's instead just how we present to the world. Therefore, it shouldn't matter if Virginia's in love with a woman, because Vita's just another human, and this whole thing is just a massive love letter to Vita and also a screw you to everyone else, because they all knew it was about Vita and Virginia didn't care."
"Wait, people knew? People knew they were lesbians."
"Well, they were probably both bi, and Virginia was probably demi-romantic, but it's not fair to put labels on them because all of those terms are more modern than these women. But yes, people knew they were dating. Vita's mom complained that Virginia stole her daughter."
"That's incredible,"
"Portrait of a Marriage by Nigel nicholson, Vita's son, is probably upstairs in biographies. Chapter five especially goes into detail on their open relationships."
The other boy laughs at that, throwing his whole body back as he does. He has the weight of five midterms on his shoulders, but for the duration of that laugh, he is happy and free and light as a feather.
"You're amazing. I'll let you write your essay, but just know. You're incredible."
Henry pulls out his laptop and opens the file for his essay, but it's a good five minutes before he can start to actually write anything. When he's finished, he nearly asks the other boy to get dinner with him. He doesn't; he can't. He's not confident enough. Instead, he just wishes the other boy good luck on his test as he says goodbye.
-
When Henry gets to work on Wednesday, it doesn't look like his patron has moved. When Henry gets a bit of a break, he texts Pez, who responds immediately with a series of emojis. The man is an enigma, but fifteen minutes later, he's arrived with two of the cookies Henry made them the night before. Henry takes them to the table where his favorite patron sits, the eye of a storm of notes, highlighters, empty coffee cups, and granola bar wrappers.
"Hello. Sorry to bother you, but you look like you could use these," Henry says, setting the cookies on the table as he passes.
"What... thank you! Thanks."
Henry is gone before the other boy can say more, his face going red. He doesn't see the little smile that spreads across the other boy's face or the way his whole body relaxes as he bites into the first cookie. When he passes the table again, though, he does see an empty bag and a somewhat refreshed patron.
-
As midterms pass and life settles down a bit, the table where his patron sits starts to be empty occasionally. Henry tries not to miss the boy who used to sit there, surrounded by clutter and wearing adorable glasses. He must have other things happening, a life outside of class work and study sessions. Still, it's a bright spot in Henry's day to see the familiar backpack in a chair, even without his patron at the table.
He finds his patron a few minutes later, or more accurately, his patron finds him.
"Excuse me, hi. Do you happen to have any books about how to ask out the hot librarian who's super smart and puts up with my constant nagging and helped me come out to my family and brought me cookies during midterms?"
Henry freezes, then says, "If we did, I would assume the first suggestion would be to tell this person your name." He's doing his best to stay calm, but the other boy isn't making it easy. He's leaning against a bookshelf, casually, like asking to date another boy in a public place is the easiest thing in the world.
"Did I not... fuck, I-- I'm Alex. Alexander Claremont-Diaz. Sorry. Shit. Yours is on your nametag and I just kinda assumed we... sorry."
"Alex, it's nice to meet you. I'm Henry. Back to your question, if we had such a book, I would assume it would also suggest waiting until the person you want to ask out is off work. But, when he's not on the clock and can be his own person, you shouldn't have any problem. You're smart, and you're nice, and you're good looking."
"You think?"
"I do. And you didn't ask, but I get off at six, and I don't have dinner plans."
With that, Henry finishes sorting his cart and walks away to shelve it, leaving Alexander Claremont-Diaz, mystery patron, grinning behind him.

Notes:
To my knowledge as someone who's worked at a library for a month, the Dewey decimal numbers in this are accurate. 306 is definitely gay books, and that'll be the case at any library that uses this system. Also, the fiction books mentioned are all real and queer. Especially Orlando. - Speaking of Orlando, read it! It's so good! I'm working on the play (adapted by Sarah Ruhl, who's incredible) and I'm in love with it.

Takeaway on All These Side Hustle Ideas
Side hustles are a great way to quickly increase your income to do things like build your emergency fund, rapidly pay off debt, and save for those big purchases. When I was facing $52k in consumer debt alone, I was constantly looking for different side hustle ideas to pay off the massive debt I had created.
Keep in mind, side hustles are not meant to replace your income, but rather add to your current income. Of course there are stories out there of side hustles turning into full-time business ideas, but this is definitely not the normal.
Instead, look at these side hustle ideas as a way to boost your current income in your spare time.
Yes, as you can imagine side hustles are performed in addition to what you’re already doing. This means if you aren’t willing to put in the extra work, then continuing to look down this list of side hustle ideas is going to be a waste of your time. These are not get-rich-quick ideas — they are make-money-for-extra-work ideas.
And depending on what you’re willing to do and how much time you are willing to allocate will determine your added income. Some of you will start off making an extra $50 per month and others will make an extra $2,000 per month.
My best piece of advice for choosing your side hustles
Work means work. Whichever side hustles you choose will take effort on your part.
Find something you are already good at (or enjoy) and start there.
Determine how much money you need and then work backwards from there. This will help you determine which side hustle will be best for your goals.
The side hustles that pay more require more time and effort. The opposite is also true.
No more than three side hustles at at time.
Not all side hustles are glorious, but the least attractive side hustles often pay the most.
If you come across a side hustle that says “get-rich-quick” — go the the next one. It’s just not true.
Commit, commit, commit. The biggest mistake you will make is giving up on your side hustle too early.
Remember, you landed on this post for a reason.
It’s not an accident you are here and you definitely are looking for ways to make extra money. Below is a list I started in 2016, and I have been continually updating it ever since. I want you to remove the financial stress and live a happy life. I don’t want you to have debt for the rest of your life and I want you to save more money than you ever thought possible.
The best way to move away from the financial stress is to live on written plan (a budget). Nine times out of ten when you look at your plan, you will realize you need extra money to knock out the debt and save more. This is exactly how this list will help you. Best of luck to you!
My Favorite Side Hustle Ideas Right Now
These first eight side hustles right now are my favorites. Right now during the COVID crisis, delivering food is the way to go to make decent money as quickly as possible. You can also do well as a virtual assistant for the same reason and make up to $50/hour.
1. Earn $15 to $25 Per Hour Delivering Food From Restaurants
DoorDash is my favorite pick for food delivery because I have been told from multiple delivery drivers that DoorDashers make slightly more than UberEats drivers. While I don’t have any factual statistics to prove this right or wrong, I still like DoorDash best as the top side hustle for food delivery. However, almost all of the delivery drivers I have had to the house will all say they deliver through both platforms so they can make the most money.
If you have a car, bike, or scooter, this is a great side hustle for anyone. There is a reason why this is one of the most popular side hustles around today.

2. Earn up to $50/hour as a Virtual Assistant
Virtual assistants have been around for years, but during the economic shutdown due to coronavirus, the industry has exploded.
Businesses are turning to virtual support, which means virtual assistants are in high demand. In fact, many small businesses (like Money Peach) need help but don’t want to bring on staff to their location, so instead they turn to virtual support.
This virtual support can be a range of things from responding to and checking email, scheduling meetings, booking travel arrangements, updating social media content — really anything you can do online.
The starting pay for virtual assistants is really good — $15 – $50 per hour.
I would recommend starting off by posting on your social channels offering services as a virtual assistant. I still can’t believe how many people don’t do this — it is such a simple way to land a job for yourself.
And here’s a pro-tip: think visualization. Make an image using a free service like Canva to create an image with a headshot and all the tasks you can help people with online. This will definitely help you stand out above the rest.
What if I want to be a virtual assistant but need a little help getting started?
I would highly recommend reaching out to someone who is a professional virtual assistant and learning from them. Kayla Sloan started off as my very own V.A. in 2015 and today she has been teaching how to be a high-level virtual assistant to thousands of people all over the world.
And through her large network in the online space, she can even help you get your first virtual assistant job. If this sounds like something you would like to try, you can learn more about it here.

3. Make $1,000 to $2,000 Per Month Running Facebook Ads
If you were a business owner, would you pay $100 to make $300? What about spending $10,000 to make $30,000?
This is why today over 7 million advertisers are using Facebook ads and these businesses are spending on average between $2,400 and $9,600 on Facebook ads each year. And with over 30 million small businesses in the U.S. alone, there is huge opportunity for people to create a lot of revenue creating Facebook ads for small businesses.
Bobby Hoyt from Laptop Empires has the best program for teaching people how to run Facebook Ads and he really will show you to earn $1,000 – $2,000 per month per client as their Facebook ads manager.
Of course I had to look into this claim to make sure it’s accurate, and I can tell you this — he’s not exaggerating at all. You can see how he’s helped countless people create real side hustle income to eventually replace their full-time jobs doing Facebook ads here.
Also, as I mentioned earlier this is not a get-rich-quick scheme. This is going to take 6-8 weeks if you’re moving quickly to not only learn how to do Facebook ads but how to get clients as well. Bobby will show you how, but you have to do the work. If you’re not willing to do the work, then I would move onto the next side hustle.
Learn How to Run Facebook Ads
Think about it: if you could help a business owner spend $10,000 to make $30,000, would it be worth it to them to pay you $1,000 – $2,000 per month to do that for them?
4. Earn Money as a Freelance Writer
I have a good friend, Holly Johnson, that left her job in corporate America to pursue her passion — freelance writing.
She didn’t start off making a ton of money, but over time she created strategies to land more writing jobs, to find out what clients actually want in a writer, and how to be as efficient and profitable as possible.
Today Holly makes $225,000+ per year and if you follow her online you’ll notice something unusual — her family of 4 travels six weeks per year because she can write from anywhere in the world. Right now Holly writes for some of the largest well-known websites like Condé Naste, The Balance, Bankrate and Business Insider.
Keep in mind — you are not going to start off as a freelance writer making six figures per year. But, if you work hard you definitely can make $1,000 – $2,000 per month as a freelance writer.
How do you get started as a freelance writer?
You can do this the hard way by networking, pitching clients, and trying to price your services yourself. This isn’t a bad way to go, but it definitely takes a lot more effort.
Or, you could get help from a professional freelance writer. Holly has mastered her craft and she will show you exactly how to get started, how to get clients and how much to start charging your clients. She will also help you find the clients you want to write for.
In fact, many of the writers for this blog have come from Holly’s recommendation. She is the go-to resource for many bloggers looking for high-quality writers. And if they have been taught by Holly, then we all know they are high-quality.

5. Get Paid to Proofread
If you are someone (like me) that gets upset when you see your versus you’re spelled wrong or maybe the mix up between there, their and they’re — you are going to love this side hustle. Or maybe you are tired of seeing things like this in print:

6. Earn Money Through a One-Page Website
One of the best decisions I made was starting a blog in 2015. This tiny little blog did not make any money that first year — it was merely a passion project about personal finance. However, the following year I made a little bit of money and every year since the blog has grown along with the income.
But you are NOT going to make a lot of money right now starting a blog.
Making money from a blog takes time and it’s not a great side hustle.
However, you definitely will increase your income by starting a one-page website for any services you are offering. Whether you’re a handyman, a Facebook ads consultant, a virtual assistant, a tutor, or any other side hustler, you must have a simple website for people to learn about you.
This is so simple and I cannot tell you how many people make the mistake of not taking the time to create a one page website.
How to Earn more money with your Own Website
If you’re looking to do any of the side hustles mentioned in this post, you’re going to want to create a simple website. Don’t worry — it’s extremely simple.
Let’s say for example you’re looking to get hired as a virtual assistant. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone could go online and read your “About Me” page, have the ability to contact you via your “Contact Me” page and even hire you through your “Work With Me” page?
No matter what business or side hustle you want to create, having a simple website will boost your credibility. Ask yourself this: if two people are offering the same exact services but only one of them has a website for you to learn more about, who are you more likely to hire?
If you’re looking for a simple way to get started building a quick website, I created a free step-by-step guide to help you get started. This guide will allow you to build your website in 15 – 20 minutes and for just a few dollars.

7. How to Earn Money with Affiliate Marketing
If you’re willing to put in the time and effort by starting a blog, then affiliate marketing can be a great side hustle. But remember, it takes time and effort.
With that said, when I created this blog in the beginning, I didn’t know anything about affiliate marketing. I just enjoyed blogging about how to create a budget, save more money, and pay off debt. That was until someone told me my blog could be generating thousands of dollars per month if I added in affiliate marketing.
Admittedly, I was super skeptical but I decided to give it a try.
I didn’t know what to do or how to get started, so I reached out to a blogging friend who started Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing . Within 60 days I increased the monthly income from my tiny little blog by $1,705 (and became one of her testimonies)
Yes, I was more than just a little shocked and since then I have told everyone I know about her program because it really changed my life. I don’t know about you, but $1,705 extra per month for making some tweaks to my blog is life-changing.
Keep in mind, making money from affiliate marketing takes time. Yes, you can make a lot of money from affiliate marketing, but in the beginning I would estimate only a few hundred dollars per month.

8. Earn up to $22/hour Tutoring Online
Maybe you’ve never heard of VIPKID, but it’s actually a household name brand in China. Currently, there are over 70,000 American teachers teaching English as a second language to over 600,000 children in China. The current pay for this reliable side hustle is up to $22/hour.
Before you get started, beware there are some barriers to entry to partner with VIPKID. First, they do require you to have a Bachelor’s degree from either the USA or Canada, and second they ask for “some teaching experience”. However, from a teacher I have spoke with from VIPKID, she said “teaching” doesn’t have to mean teaching in a traditional educational setting.
The lessons are 30 minutes long and you will be paid up to $11 for each 30-minute lesson. One thing to note is since you are teaching across the globe in a live setting, you will be teaching at odd hours (late at night or first thing in the morning). However, the teacher I spoke to said it was fun, rewarding, and it paid well for being able to stay at home and teach from her laptop in her kitchen.

9. Earn $600/month Renting Out Baby Equipment
I really love this side hustle right now because the feedback from readers has been extremely positive.
Imagine you’re getting ready to take a vacation with your small children and you start thinking about how you’re going the pack the stroller, the pack ‘n plays, and the crib. Then you start thinking about the car seats, toys, books, high chairs, carriers, noise machines, baby baths, bouncy seats, monitors, jumpers and every other little thing!
Today, that problem solved thanks to BabyQuip.
In 2016, a few parents got together and created BabyQuip to provide families with clean, safe and reliable baby equipment for rent. Since then there have been over 30,000 transactions and guess where the baby equipment is rented from?
If you currently have baby equipment stored at home, you can start renting it out in the over 500 cities across the US and Canada. To start earning money as a BabyQuip Quality Provider you need to apply online and once accepted you’ll have an interview. If you both feel it’s a good match, you will get onboarded so you know how to run your baby gear rental business.
Then, you get to work as little more much as you’d like. The average BabyQuip Quality Provider makes $600/month, with some providers as high as $5,000 per month. Also, once you’re accepted as provider, you will be added to the community where you can meet other QPs and learn best practices to make the most money.

The Best Side Hustles That Put Your “Stuff” to Work
I’m sure you’re fully aware, but a market has emerged and took over where your stuff actually makes money for you. This started with using your car as a taxi service with Uber or renting out your spare room through Airbnb. However, there is now just about a market for anything you can think of in terms of your stuff making money for you. I’m going to start off with the less obvious.
10. Earn $1,000 to $1,500 Per Month Renting Out Your RV
Rent your RV out like a VRBO or Airbnb with Outdoorsy.
If you’re currently an RV owner, did you know over 17 million RVs sit unused for 350 days per year?
Whether you own a large RV, a fifth-wheel, a folding trailer, a camper van or anything similar, there is plenty of opportunity to turn a profit with your RV instead of it sitting idle.
In fact, many RV owners have been renting out their campers for years on sites like Craigslist or through word-of-mouth referrals. However, there is also a lot of risk and unanswered questions when you decide to rent out your RV by yourself.
Now, more people are turning to the largest and safest online marketplace for renting out your RV — Outdoorsy. You can think of Outdoorsy like the Airbnb for your RV.
Outdoorsy also provides plenty of safeguards to protect you and your RV. For starters, all potential renters of your RV have to pass an extensive driving history check before they can request your RV. Also, Outdoorsy provide you the owner $1 million in liability insurance and will also cover any theft or damage.
In addition to both liability insurance and the background check, Outdoorsy offers 24/7 roadside assistance which really turns your RV rental into a fully passive income stream. I know I mentioned above you can make $1,000 – $1,500 per month, however Outdoorsy does state on their website you can “Earn up to $30,000 a year renting your RV to people you trust”.
Since I don’t personally own an RV, I did do some research and found that since their start date in 2014, Outdoorsy has facilitated over 240k RV trips and has over 10,000 reviews on Trustpilot rating with a 4.4 out of 5.
How it works:
First you will create a free account with Outdoorsy. Once your account is created, you will then create a profile for your RV. Outdoorsy walks you through the process of creating your profile to include things like the year/make/model of your RV, where it’s located, a detailed description, pictures, list of amenities, and your rules for renters.
Next you set your daily/weekly rental rate and post it to the site. Once someone rents your RV, Outdoorsy will release the funds to you via direct deposit within 24 hours of the start of the rental. Outdoorsy does take 15% – 20% fee from the rental.

11. Earn $700/month Renting Out Your Car
Turo is a peer-to-peer car sharing company where you can generate monthly revenue by renting out your car. With over 10 million users and 350,000 vehicles listed, Turo is a safe and reliable way to turn your car into a monthly revenue stream. Currently Turo is offered in US, Canada, the UK, and Germany.
How it works:
To get started you can list your vehicle (any make and model) for free. This process takes about 10 minutes and there are no sign-up fees or monthly charges for signing up.
Next, you can set your own daily price and rental rules for your car. Turo does have recommendations for you if you don’t know, but your pricing and rules for the rental are completely up to you.
Once a guest books a rental with your car, you’ll specify how your guest receives the car and will also “check in” your guest through the Turo App. Within three days after your car is returned and the trip is completed, you will get paid via direct deposit.
Turo takes a commission on the transaction, however in 2019 the average Turo host made $706 per month when they completed 12 trips per year.
The amount of days you would like to rent out your car is completely up to you and you’re also covered up to $1 million liability insurance through a partnership with Turo and Liberty Mutual.

12. Earn $1,000 to $2,000 Renting Out Your Room
Just about everyone has stayed in an Airbnb or at least knows someone who has. But, have you ever thought about making money with Airbnb?
This side hustle pays quite a bit because of what is at stake — you’re renting out a room in your house or your renting out your entire house. And, in some situations you may even be living with your guests during their stay. Whichever way you choose, this is still one of the most lucrative side hustles on the market.
How it works:
It’s free to list your space on Airbnb ad there are no memberships dues, sign-up fees, or any random charges. Instead, Airbnb earns a 3% host service fee per booking.
Once you’re space is listed, you can choose to make it available whenever you want. You also get to set the rules for your guests such as min/max number of nights and how far in advance they can book. As far as pricing, Airbnb has recommendations for you but ultimately you get to set the price you feel most comfortable with, including your cleaning fee, seasonal fees, or any other pricing options you think you may need.
Once your space is booked, Airbnb will usually pay you within 24 hours after the guest is scheduled to arrive via Paypal, direct deposit, or other methods if available. Airbnb also provides you with $1 million property damage insurance, $1 million in liability insurance and 24/7 customer support.
Again, I totally understand that renting out your room, house, or even living with a guest is a pretty big deal. However, you really can earn $1,000 – $2,000 this month and does not take much to get started. No marketing costs, creating your ow website or anything life that. Simply sign up for free, list your space, and start making really good money this month.

13. Earn $500 to $1,000 Per Month Renting Out Space
Peerspace is platform that allows hosts to rent their space for meetings, events, film and photo shoots, or anything else you can think of.
People are always looking for space to rent out for birthday parties, baby showers, film shoots, networking events, workshops, and a whole slew of other reasons that require space.
Renting out small spaces by the hour has become increasingly popular over the past few years, and now there is even a dedicated marketplace for it. And for those who aren’t ready to rent out a room in their home quite yet, maybe renting out your space for a few hours will work out better.
Whether you want to rent a room, your backyard, your office or meeting room, your garage, or any other space you can think of, the opportunity is there. And Peerspace is the leader when it comes to peer-to-peer space rental.
How it Works:
Once you set up a free account with Peerspace, you can create your listing, the rules for your space, the pricing, and the availability. Then you simply list your space and it will become available to whoever is looking for your space within the Peerspace marketplace.
Just like Airbnb, Turo, and Outdoorsy, Peerspace protects you with $1 million in liability insurance and you can also list your space absolutely for free. Once someone rents out your space through their dashboard, you will receive payment from Peerspace, minus a 15% commission Peerspace takes.
Most of the spaces I found during a quick search are in the $50 – $100/hour with a minimum of 2 hours. If you are willing to open up your space just a few times per month, you could easily generate $500 – $1,000 extra as a nice little side hustle.

14. Earn $50/month Renting Your Driveway
A college student at Arizona State University identified a problem and created the solution.
Parking near the campus was difficult and the homeowners who lived near the campus had a major problem with illegal parking on the streets. Jonathan Barkl, a 20-year-old college student at the time wondered if you could take the idea of Airbnb and apply it to your own driveway.
Air Garage is a service that allows you to rent out your driveway for parking in three simple steps. Step one is Air Garage installs a free sign that instructs the public they can pay to park in your driveway.
Step two is for you to install and get set up with their online dashboard so you can manage your driveway parking status. And step three is your driveway is available for rent and you start collecting payments.
If your curious to learn more, I actually had the Air Garage Founder and CEO on the Money Peach podcast.

The Best Side Hustle Ideas That Pay Quickly
These side hustles will not generate the income you can generate with the above list, but they are something you can do right away and get paid quickly.
15. Share Your Opinion Online
Yup, you can actually generate side income by simply giving your opinion via online surveys. It’s not going to make you rich tomorrow, but it’s still a great way to generate extra income during your down time.
I like to do surveys when I’m literally doing nothing else. For example, if I am in the doctor’s office waiting room, or my estimated wait time is 21 minutes or even if I’m riding the train — I may as well make some extra money.
There are also a ton of survey sites out there and I’ll be completely honest — 95% of them aren’t that great. But, there are a few good ones out there that actually have really good reviews.
The top two I recommend are both Survey Junkie and Swagbucks.
Survey Junkie has you answer surveys online (desktop or mobile) and you can earn points that can be exchanged for either cash or gift cards. For every 1,000 points you earn, you can trade them in for the $10 equivalent. Survey Junkie has over 14,000 reviews with a Trustpilot score of 4.5 out of 5 — the highest rating among all survey sites. If you would like to learn more about Survey Junkie, I have a full Survey Junkie review here.
Swagbucks is another great choice because you earn in other ways beyond just answering online surveys. You can earn when you shop online, answer surveys, watch videos, test out new offers from top brands, search the web, play online games, or use their mobile app. Similar to most other survey sites, you can redeem points for cash or gift cards. Since 2008, Swagbucks has paid out over $400 million and sends out over 7,000 gift cards per day. You can learn more here in my Swagbuck review.

16. Inbox Dollars
Another option for a quick-money-side hustle is Inbox Dollars.
Inbox Dollars is a rewards club that pays you in cash for completing a variety of online activities. This can include searching the internet, filling out surveys, printing off coupons, and shopping online. You’re not going to make a ton of money or anything like that, but If you are already doing these things, it makes sense to get paid for it too.
Inbox Dollars
17. Earn $3 to $100 Doing Random Tasks
Download the free Gigwalking App and then find “gigs” in your neighborhood that companies are willing to pay you for. Can you check out the price of milk in a certain store for $6 or snap a pic of a storefront for $5 on the way to work? Note: You will start off with the low-paying jobs in the beginning, but prove yourself and you will start getting offered the higher-paying jobs soon enough.
The Popular Side Hustles
Here are some of the well-known side hustles that have stood the test of time.
18. Earn $10 to $12 Per Hour as a Rideshare Driver
This is an incredibly popular side hustle and just about everyone has been in an Uber or Lyft before.
To get started, some minimum requirements you need are a car, a smartphone, and the Uber or Lyft app. You become available to drive as soon as you complete the activation process and then you are ready to start earning money. Fares are paid out weekly or up to 5X a day when you register for Instant Pay with your debit card!
The nice part about becoming a rideshare driver is it’s truly on-demand. You can work only when you want and you can drive as much or as little as you’d like. However, from the rideshare drives I have interviewed, the money is good, but not great.
Drive with Uber
Drive with Lyft
19. Fiverr
Fiverr is a platform where you can sell your products and services starting at $5 per gig. After you have a few $5 gigs under your belt, you can start increasing how much you charge. Here at Money Peach, I hire people from Fiverr all the time. Just recently, we found someone for a quick logo design and another to transcribe some videos we created.
Also, the Fiverr platform does take 20% from each gig. Therefore, if you do a $5 gig, you will take home $4 per gig. However, if you can complete 3-4 gigs in an hour, your hourly rate could start at $16 – $20 per hour.
This is a very popular side hustle for good reason, but keep in mind you may not make a of money when you first start out. It may not feel worth it in the beginning because you will need to do small jobs to build up your rating before you can start charging more.
Start a Gig with Fiverr
The Referral Program Side Hustles
These sites mentioned below are not to be used as a source of income, but rather a simple way to make a few bucks here and there. Most of them mentioned are ways to save money online, however they do offer gift cards for referring your friends. Again, not a big money-maker but more of a reminder you can still make a few bucks if you use any of these sits.
20. Rakuten (Formerly Ebates)
Rakuten is a company that has partnered with over 2,000 online companies to form an affiliate relationship with each of them. An affiliate relationship simply means Rakuten and each online company have created a partnership where Rakuten will refer you or I to buy something from them, and that company then sends Rakuten a thank-you referral.
The good news: Rakuten then splits the thank-you referral with you, and you earn  cash back. And when you refer your friends to Rakuten, you will get a referral commission. As of this writing, I have personally made $1098.48 since I joined Rakuten. Ninety-five percent of that came from referrals.
Even if you don’t plan on sharing your referral link, you still should sign up for Rakuten (free) and save money on all of your online purchases.
Join Rakuten
21. Honey Browser Extension
Honey works the same exact way as Rakuten — a refer-a-friend program.
Recently purchased by PayPal, Honey is a free tool that will search for online coupons and apply them to your online shopping cart to make sure you are saving the most money. Instead of searching for coupons one at-a-time and applying them individually, Honey does all of this for you in the matter of seconds.
Not only will you save money, but you can also make a little bit of money with their refer-a-friend program. For anyone you refer to the app, Honey will send you $5 as soon as they purchase something via the app up to $1,000. I have personally made over $3,000 with their referral program. You max out at $1,000 and then you need to create a new Honey Account and share out your new referral link.

The Create and Sell Side Hustles
Selling your stuff online is a great way to earn money quickly. Here are some of the go-to places for selling stuff online.
22. Offer Up
OfferUp lets you list and sell for free. It’s more of a “you’re on your own” site like Craigslist and LetGo, but is fairly popular and is well-organized. It also looks like OfferUp is surpassing Craigslist as the go-to place to sell your stuff locally.
23. Amazon
Selling on Amazon is almost identical as selling on eBay in terms of fees and ease of use. However, sometimes items that don’t sell as well on eBay do better on Amazon and vice versa. Either way, it is a side hustle worth looking at if you can buy for cheap and resell for a higher price.
24. eBook Publishing
Make money by writing your own book and self publishing it on Amazon for free. There are different options available for how your can price your book and earn income from the sale of your book in the Amazon store. Questions about self publishing your own book? Check this out.
25. Etsy
Instead of having to open up your brick and mortar store, sell your creations on Etsy. Whether you make clothing, crafts, baby toys, or jewelry, you can open up your own store at Etsy. I have a friend selling her awesome clothing line on Etsy and it brings in a very nice income for the family. This is another great side hustle, but don’t expect instant results. You may need to be patient for this one.
26. Craigslist
We all know you can buy and sell stuff on Craigslist, but have you ever thought about offering a service you can provide. If providing a service isn’t your thing, you can scan Craigslist for great deals and then later resell items for a profit. This takes persistence and patience, but I have a friend who went from a $4k truck to a $24k in truck in 18 months by flipping cars from Craigslist.
There are also many other sites competing with Craigslist and you may have better exposure by posting on these sites like Craigslist.
27. Zazzle
Make money on Zazzle as a designer by selling your artwork on different products or you can actually make and manufacture the products for sale. I have a friend who takes old dry wood and paints slogans on them. She needs to sell them on Zazzle; she could create a very quick and profitable side hustle.
28. eBay
You can have your own store up in only a few minutes at eBay. To start, you must have a seller account, must be verified through PayPal. You are even able to give a detailed description of your store with a catchy design to attract customers. I have a friend who will buy all of the unused bras at a last chance type of store and resell them for a profit at her eBay store. Last I heard, she was doing $1,000/month in her first couple of months.
29. Sell Your Photos Online
Do you take amazing photos? You can actually sell your photos online at places like iStockPhoto, Shutterstock, Fotolia, and Bigstockphoto. Photos can be sold over and over again, allowing you to earn a residual income!
The full list to sell your stuff online: You can see all the places to sell your stuff online here.
The Get Hired to Work Online Side Hustles
30. Do Transcription Work or Data Entry Work
Another great side hustle you can do from home is transcribing audio or video into captions. I personally have hired many people from Rev.com to do all of our captions for our videos and the quality is always great.
Rev.com says you can expect to earn on average $240 per month and you can also get paid weekly via PayPal.
I really love this side hustle because you can do this from home, on your own time, and work as much as you would like.
31. User Testing
Don’t want to do an online survey, but still like to surf the web and earn some cash? Companies will pay you to try out their apps or visit their websites and give them feedback. Usertesting and UserFeel uses your feedback on apps and websites that aren’t as user-friendly and then pays your for it.
The Some Skill Required Side Hustles
So, not all side hustles are for everyone. In fact, these ones below do require some skill to make money. But, the more skill you have, the more money you will make!
32. Become an Online Coach
If you have an idea and can help people, pay attention. Whether it is motivating someone, helping them pass a class, or teaching them how to build a website, this can all be done online. Setup you’re pricing, terms, and accept payment through something as simple as PayPal and you are on your way. I recommend using Skype or Google Hangouts since it is 100% free.
I currently have a group coaching program called Smart Money Academy. We have a community that meets live via Zoom calls and I teach people how to manage money — everything from to budgeting, debt payoff, savings, wealth building and more.
33. Create an Online Course
Is there something you are good at and can teach to others? My good friend Holly Johnson will show you how to get paid to as a Freelance Writer with her course Earn More Writing.
Another friend doing great things is Bobby Hoyt. He’s teaching people how to create Facebook Ads for small businesses with his online program, The Facebook Side Hustle Course. In fact, his average student earns $1,000 – $2,000 per month.
And, one of our former virtual assistants here at Money Peach left us to create her own online course — teaching people how to become virtual assistants. Her course is called 10kVA and her students are making up to $50/hour as virtual assistants.
34. Earn $900 Per Week Spray Tanning
A good friend of mine (Jessica) has become the queen of spray tanning in our area. In fact, she is making $900 per week cash spray tanning both the ladies and the men and it’s all through word-of-mouth! You can check her out at JC Glows on Facebook to see how she set up her side hustle.
I asked her how she got started and she said this:
She started with this exact tanning kit
She uses this tanning tent
She taught herself how watching YouTube
35. Earn $39/hour as a Voiceover Artist
You know those people who talk on radio and TV commercials but you never see their faces? They’re called voiceover artists, and they get paid good money to do what they do.
Sites like Backstage list available voiceover jobs, and Carrie Olsen, professional voiceover artist, has a great web site that can help you learn how to become a voiceover artist.
Check out this Money Peach Podcast with Voice Over Star Carrie Olsen for more info.
36. Make $200 to $300 as a Resume Writer
If you have a knack for writing compelling and attention-grabbing resumes, consider offering your services on sites such as freelancer.com, Craigslist, or on any social media platform.
When someone is going in for a job interview, it’s worth it for them to pay $200 – $300 per resume for a high-quality resume. In addition to writing resumes, you should also offer services such as writing cover letters and proofreading.
37. Catering
If you love cooking, serving food, and entertaining at your own home, then get paid to do it for someone else. This can be fun and can often go from side hustle to full-time if you’re really good at it!
38. Computer Repair
If you love “playing” computers, then help someone repair theirs and get paid for it. Note: You must know a little bit about computers.
39. Make $25/hour Teaching Computer Skills
How many Baby Boomers (or anyone for that matter) do you know who are still having trouble checking their email. If you were able to navigate to this web page, then you probably have the skills to teach extremely basic computer skills to an extreme beginner.
40. Make $300 to $500 Per Month Teaching Music Lessons
From singing to playing piano or any other number of instruments, parents everywhere are seeking music lessons for their kids.
If you have a gift for a musical skills, consider teaching that skill to local kids. You might be able to find jobs by looking on Craigslist, OfferUp, or Facebook Marketplace. You should also seek out local public school or homeschooling groups to connect with parents who have school-aged children.
41. Earn $300 to $500 Playing Guitar Gigs
A friend of mine finds guitar gigs online, on Facebook, and in the paper all the time. He shows up, plays for a few hours, and leaves with cash in hand. Note: you must be good at playing the guitar.
42. Earn $20/hour Doing Handyman Work
Some people are handy and others are not. Let your neighbors know that you are available to hang a ceiling fan, patch a hole in the drywall, fix an irrigation leak, or paint a fence. All can be done for them ASAP for a small fee.
I love TaskRabbit. Whether I need a doggy door installed, someone to clean my house this weekend, or even mount a TV, I can go on TaskRabbit to find someone in an instant. YOU could be that person I find next on TaskRabbit for hire!
43. Earn $16 to $20 Per Hour as a Lifeguard
Become a lifeguard and earn $16/hr – $20/hr part-time. Not only do you make some extra cash, but you are guaranteed to get a little tan as well.
44. Earn $30 to $85 Per Hour Tutoring
Tutoring is a great side hustle and it’s in high-demand. According to Care.com, the most commonly requested tutoring subjects are SAT prep, math, English, chemistry, biology and physics. If you feel you have an expertise in teaching on any of those subjects, I would highly encourage you to start offering your services as a tutor.
Create a simple 2-3 page website with an about page, a contact page, and of course a hire-me page. If you need help creating a very simple website, I’ll show you how here.
Once you have your site up and running, don’t be shy — share your link to your site on social media and chances are someone will be calling you shortly. If not, I promise someone knows someone needing a tutor and you’re the first person they thought of because they saw your post.
Live in the U.S. or U.K. and hold a bachelor’s degree? You can earn up to $22/hr plus bonuses to teach kids English online from the comfort of home. Learn more here.
45. Start a Baking Business
Do you have a gift for baking goodies such as cake, muffins or cookies? Why not use that gift to make yourself some extra cash?
Events such as birthday parties, weddings, office parties and meetings, retirement parties and more often have baked treats as a part of their celebration.
Advertise your culinary skills on Instagram, Facebook, and Craigslist. Also, don’t forget about local event venues to show off your bakery services.
46. Earn $30/hour as a Sports Umpire
Are you knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of certain sports? Do you like working with kids? Recreation associations often pay good money for organized sports umpires for football, baseball, and more.
In our area, umpires earn about $30 an hour. Check with local sporting organizations for job opening details.
The Physical Labor Side Hustles
If you don’t putting in a little sweat equity, you can do very well side hustling with some physical labor attached to it. I did #50 when I was getting out of debt and generated over $1,000 each month.
47. Earn $500 Per Month Cleaning Pools
This requires very little overhead and is simple to do. Go to Google Earth and look up which homes in your neighborhood have a pool, and offer to start today. I actually did this to get out of debt and it worked out great!
48. Earn $500 to $1,000 per Month House Cleaning
People are busy and don’t have time to clean their homes. This is where you come in. Search your area in Craigslist to get an idea for pricing your own services. Then market your services to friends, family and ask for referrals. Don’t be shy — the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
49. Earn $500 to $1,000 Per Month Mowing Lawns
If you don’t have the funds to purchase all the equipment, then offer to your mow lawns with their equipment. I actually did this in grade school because I wasn’t old enough to drive. I just showed up, grabbed their lawnmower, and was paid.
You can also find really good deals on used equipment on the Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, and Craigslist. This side hustle does require some upfront costs, but it’s a definite money-maker. I would recommend offering your landscaping services on OfferUp and inside the Facebook Marketplace.
50. Earn $25/hour Painting Gates
Gates fade and someone needs to repaint them. A kid in the neighborhood took pics of faded gates and pretty gates and posted them on the mailbox with his number and price. (I think one of the faded gate pics he took was my gate also). He spent about 2 hours taking off all the slats, sanding them down, and repainting them. He charged me $50 and was happy to pay it.
51. Earn $25 to $75 Per Hour Shoveling Snow
No one likes shoveling snow and this is why you will be paid for it.
52. Earn $4 per Window Washing Windows
I recently paid a guy to wash my windows because he advertised $4/window. He spent about 1 hour washing a total of 20 windows and walked away with $80 cash. His entire setup was a bucket and a squeegee. Maybe I should wash my own windows and my neighbor’s windows for an affordable price of only $4 a window.
The Really Unique Side Hustles
If you are unique, then you deserve some unique side hustles. Some of these are extremely cool, but a few of them…well I am still waiting for you to try.
53. Sell Your Hair Online
Thinking about a new hair style? You may want to. People are paying between $100 and $4,000 for quality hair. Just remember to wash it more than once a month before you get ready to sell. A great place to sell your hair is Hairsellon and they have a hair calculator here to show you how much they will pay you.
54. Make $50/hour Painting Street Numbers
A father and son rang my doorbell and pointed out to me my street numbers were faded. “For only $10, they would repaint my street numbers so my house would look better”. I paid it and it took them 37 seconds. They did 6 houses on my street alone. This is a great little side hustle.
55. Make $40/hour Doing Tasks For People
Whether someone needs furniture assembled, they need a package delivered across town, they need their TV hung on the wall, or a ceiling fan installed, you can get hired to do all these and much more via Task Rabbit.
The average Taskers are making around $40/hour, with some making around $2,000 per week!
To get started you first need to register for a free account online. Then you have to attend an online onboarding session to explain exactly how become a great Tasker. Once you’re approved, you can start accepting your first job via the TaskRabbit app and start earning money.
56. Start Earning $500 Per Month Home Staging Business
Somebody is always selling a home, and homes sell faster and for more money when they are “staged”.
As a home stager you can tailor your business to meet a variety of client needs. Creating relationships with local realtors is one way to help you find home staging clients. To create your pricing, find a local staging business and ask them for their rates. I would start lower than than what they currently offer to create business and then once you’re established, raise your rates.
57. Earn $15 to $18 Per Hour as a Work-From-Home Customer Service Rep
There are many companies that hire part-time customer service representatives who can from home. Well-known companies like U-Haul, Hilton, Apple, Cruise.com and more hire customer service reps who work from home. I have a full list of the best customer service jobs to work from home here.
58. Start an Estate Sale Service Business
An estate sale business buys a large majority of a client’s belongings, including furniture, vehicles and more, at a group rate and sells the stuff individually for profit.
This is a business that will take some work as you get to know the ropes but can be very lucrative in the long run.
59. Start a Vending Machine Business
Many companies want vending machines installed at their businesses for the convenience of employees and clients alike.
Although this type of side hustle would involve some costly initial cash, you may be able to make it up quickly if you install the machines in thriving businesses that service large numbers of people.
60. Pick Up Trash in Parking Lots
Brian Winch came on the podcast to share how he picks up trash around parking lots and now earns a 6-figure income by doing so. Although it may not be glorious work, it does pay well and it’s extremely affordable to get started. Before you get started, check out the Clean Lots tutorial here.
The You’ve Got to be Kidding Me Side Hustles
Before you read on, just remember the name of these side hustles are you’ve-go-to-be-kidding-me side hustles. Some of them will actually shock you ?.
61. Earn Up to $1,000 Per Month as a Sperm Donor
This is straight out of the movie Road Trip when they need gas money. However, you can make substantial money donating sperm, with some places offering up $1,000/month to healthy men. Be aware, if you’re not a true thoroughbred, you won’t be paid as much!
62. Earn $400 Per Month as a Plasma Donor
Since there is no way to synthetically make plasma, you will be compensated for your donation. Rates vary from state to state, but you can make on average $400/month for only a few hours of your time….and blood.
I personally know quite a few people who are doing this and they all have positive things to say about it. Not only do they like getting paid the money, but it feels good to help provide something that will end up saving someone’s life. Full disclaimer: I don’t like needles at all so you will never see a personal review from me on this one.
We have a full list of where you can earn $400 per month donating plasma here.
63. Earn $40 to $80 per Hour as a Cuddler
Ah yes, cuddling. This is an actual real job and I recently saw it featured in a news segment. People are paying for up to 3 hours of platonic hugging (and they pay a lot). Job requirements: enjoy hugging strangers.
64. Earn $40/hour to Pick up Dog Poop
Who likes picking up dog poop? Nobody. This is why you can get paid for it. I did this interview on our local news channel about a guy who now makes a full-time living picking up dog poop.
youtube
65. Earn $20 to $50 Per Hour as a Rent-a-Friend
You can sign up for free at Rentafriend to be someone else friend both part-time and full-time with pay between $20/hr – $50/hr. Yes, this sounds very strange from the outside looking in, but a lot of times you are helping someone get acquainted in a new town, meet a new group of friends, or simply have a cup of coffee with. Most importantly – friendship is always platonic (no touching).
The Old School Side Hustles
These are some of the classic side hustles that we call the easy peasy ones. If you are looking for simple, but yet effective, these are the side hustles for you.
66. Earn $15/hour Babysitting
If you like kids and don’t go out on the weekends, become a babysitter. Advertise to all of your friends (and Facebook Friends) that you will watch their kids so they can have a date night. New to the area? Then get connected with Care.com to become a certified/recommended babysitter in your area.
67. Earn $15/hour Dog Walking
Create this ad: “Love your dog but simply don’t have time to walk them? Let me help you!” There will always be someone willing to pay to keep their doggy happy, and this person is you. However, if you want to sign up through a dog walking marketplace, try out WagWalking.com.
68. Sell Drinks
I live in Phoenix where it will hover at 116°F during the summer. During the hottest weeks, there is a guy who sells snow cones and water for a premium.
I asked him how business was recently – he smiled and said “Business is gooooooood”. Buy a case of water at Costco for $0.12 a bottle and resell them for $2 wherever it is HOT. Who wouldn’t pay $2 for ice-cold water during the dog days of summer?
69. Make $25 to $45 Per Day House-sitting
Who doesn’t want to get paid for simply living in someone else’s house for a few day days? This is simple and people will pay you for it. You can think of it as a mini staycation too!
70. Make $8 to $10 Per Hour as a Mystery Shopper
Get paid $10 – $30 on average to be a mystery shopper. However, beware because there are a lot of scams out there. I recommend checking out Marketforce, Best Mark, and Intelli-101 before you head anywhere else.
71. Earn $500 to $1,000 Per Month Pet Sitting
If you truly love animals, then why not get paid to hang out with someone else’s dog or cat for the weekend? You can become a pet sitter at Care.com or specialize in only watching over someone’s pooch at Rover.
72. Sell ScrapMetal
Post in your social media or offer in the newspaper that you will come and take any scrap metal away for people. Not only could you make a few extra bucks for hauling away metal, but then you could sell it at a scrap yard. Double whammy!
73. Sign Spinner
Do you ever see those people standing on the corner, wearing headphones, oblivious to the entire world around them, and flipping signs in the air? They are making money and you can too. What about sign holder? Well, maybe you’re not the spinning type…
Takeaway on All These Side Hustle Ideas
Remember, a side hustle is a just that — a way to make extra money on the side.
You’re not going to get rich doing any of these. You may one day generate a lot income from a side hustle, but don’t expect that to be the norm in the beginning. But, if you’re looking to make $50, $100, $1,000 or even $2,000 extra per month, then the side hustles mentioned can help you get there.
Now I need your help…
If there are any other side hustles that you have done and have actually made money with, I would love to know about them. Simply leave a comment below and let me know what you did and how much extra you money you were able to generate.
I’m glad you found this post and good luck in your next side hustle adventure friend.

DoorDash
Uber Eats
Learn How to Become a Virtual Assistant
You can also listen to Episode 80 on the Money Peach Podcast where interview Kayla Sloan — the founder of 10kVA.

Proofreading is a great side hustle (and career) that can be done from anywhere in the world. To learn more abut getting started as proofreader, check out Proofread Anywhere.

The Latte Factor – 7 Lessons From A Barista
I’ve been a David Bach fan for sometime now and became inspired to pursue financial freedom shortly after reading The Automatic Millionaire many years ago. He’s also written other bestsellers such as: Smart Women Finish Rich, Start Late Finish Rich, and Smart Couples Finish Rich. So when I recently heard that he’d written a new book, The Latte Factor, I was excited about getting my hands on it.
He’s talked about this concept, The Latte Factor, in the past in some of his other books. It shows you that small amounts of money can truly change your life.
In the past, he instructed his audience to forgo some of these “small pleasures” such as a $5 Starbucks coffee and save it instead to become wealthy.
Here’s how he explains it:
The Latte Factor® is based on the simple idea that all you need to do to finish rich is to look at the small things you spend your money on every day and see whether you could redirect that spending to yourself. Putting aside as little as a few dollars a day for your future rather than spending it on little purchases such as lattes, bottled water, fast food, cigarettes, magazines and so on, can really make a difference between accumulating wealth and living paycheck to paycheck. We don’t even realize how much we’re actually spending on these little purchases. If we did think about it and change our habits just a little, we could actually change our destiny.
The Latte Factor
His new book,The Latte Factor, focuses on this same concept except it’s in a story (parable) format. I took his advice from a recent podcast (see the video below) and offered to pay my kids to read the book and write a 2-3 page book report. They were all for it.
youtube
Book overview
Without giving away too much of what the book is about, here’s a brief overview:
The Latte Factor tells a story about Zoey Daniels, a 27-year-old living in Brooklyn. She loves her job working in the Freedom Tower as a travel magazine editor.
Unfortunately after several months, she becomes stressed out after realizing she’s not getting ahead even after multiple raises.
Like many of us, she still struggles to make ends meet under a growing burden of student loans and credit card debt. Basically she’s living paycheck to paycheck.
She then begins a journey of questioning the path of life she’s on after seeing a sign that reads:
“If you don’t know where you’re going, you might not like where you end up.”
As fate would have it, she meets Henry, a barista at the local coffee shop she frequents daily for a latte and muffin.
Henry takes her under his wing and begins teaching her principles of life that she needs to learn in order to really go after her dreams.
Over the next few days, as Henry reveals what he calls the “Three Secrets to Financial Freedom,” Zoey discovers that there’s more to his life story than meets the eye—and that by following the simple, proven path he describes, she truly can create the life she’s always wanted.
7 Lessons Learned From A Barista
1) Pay yourself first
In the story, Zoey is taught the single most important key financially she can do is pay herself first. When people start investing, many times they focus on the wrong things. Until you save up at least $100,000 or more, don’t worry about the interest rate you’re getting. Instead, focus on the savings rate and piling up as much cash as you can.
What does it matter if you’re making 10% a year on $10,000? $1000 in interest isn’t too exciting. But when you’re making 10% on $100,000 which amounts to $10,000, then things start to pick up.
Henry recommended that Zoey save one hour a day of her income into a “pay yourself first” account and to become financially selfish. And by doing this, she can have financial security for the rest of her life.
Think about that. His recommendation is such a simple, yet profound process that hopefully will wake up those of us that aren’t focused on saving on a regular basis.
Why would you work 90,000+ hours of your life and not keep the first hour a day of your income?
It’s a different way to think about money that I challenge you to commit to.
Here’s a chart that he gave her to drive this concept home:
If she saved $5 a day and earned 10% interest, she’d have:
1 year     =     $1,885
2 years    =     $3,967
5 years    =     $11,616
10 years  =     $30,727
15 years  =     $62,171
30 years  =     $339,073
40 years  =     $948,611
If she saved $10 a day and earned 10% interest, she’d have:
1 year     =     $3,770
2 years    =     $7,934
5 years    =     $23,231
10 years  =     $61,453
15 years  =     $124,341
30 years  =     $678,146
40 years  =     $1,897,224
When you pay yourself first, you’re putting yourself first.
2) Make it automatic
If you leave investing up to most people then it’s usually not going to happen. We might start off thinking that we’re going to be diligent enough and invest monthly on a regular basis….but what happens after the first couple of months?
The same thing that happens to people that join a gym after making a New Year’s resolution to lose weight. They get tired of it, life gets in the way and they revert back to what they were doing before. Eating too much and not exercising!
Zoey’s second lesson learned is one of the simplest paths to wealth: making it automatic. Every two weeks, once a month, or however often you’re paid, you set it up with your employer so that your 401(k) contribution automatically comes off the top.
If you’re a do-it-yourself investor, this can be easily set up online with companies such as Vanguard, Schwab or Fidelity.
The important point to remember is to set up a set amount to be taken from each paycheck so it’s out of site and out of mind.
3) Compounding is magic
It’s amazing how much money we spend each day on items that we feel are “insignificant”.
In Zoey’s case she was spending the following by noon each day:
Latte             $4.50
Muffin            $2.75
Juice              $7.00
Lunch             $14.00
Bottled water  $1.50
Total: $29.75
I understand that we have to eat. But if Zoey could make her coffee at home and bring her lunch to work then she could invest a good portion of the $30 bucks she was spending each morning. This is what Bach calls, The Latte Factor.
Most people think they need “more money” to become wealthy. Most don’t. In Zoey’s case, she was informed, “The solution to your money problems is NOT more money; it’s NEW habits”.
Small amounts of money invested over time turn into a mountain of cash by taking advantage of the magic of compound interest.
Compound interest can be defined simply as making interest on interest.
You receive interest not only on your original investments, but also on any interest, dividends, and capital gains that accumulate—so your money can grow faster and faster as the years roll on.
Compounding example
Here’s an example from Vanguard:
Let’s say you begin with two separate $10,000 investments that each earn 6% a year. In one $10,000 investment, you withdraw your investment earnings in cash each year, and the value of your account stays steady, as you see with the flat line in the chart below.
In the other investment, you don’t cash out your earnings—they get reinvested. The curved line below shows the power of compounding and time. If you keep reinvesting the earnings after 20 years your investment will have grown by more than $20,500.
And if you’ve got an even longer time frame—for example, if you’re in your 20s and saving for retirement—after 40 years, your investment will have grown by more than $92,000.
4) Control
For whatever the reason, there’s a large segment of the population that plays the “victim” card when it comes to having control over their finances. They feel that they lack control believing they’re victims of the “system” or the so-called evil “one-percent“. By doing this, they can easily avoid being held accountable.
But the Latte Factor demonstrates that we have far more control over our financial destiny than many would have us believe.
5) Small amounts matters too
The Latte Factor shows us the power that lies in small amounts of money. Basically every dollar that we receive can represent some amazing possibilities.
Here’s 4 areas that most people overspend that could be redirected towards investing:
a. Eating out
On average, Americans eat out twice a week which comes to $232 each month.
b. Coffee
It’s only fitting if we’re talking about The Latte Factor that we include coffee on the list. The average American spends almost $15 a week or $1,100 a year on coffee.
c. Unused utility services
Paying our bills blindly can lead to overpaying for services. Some of them we don’t even use. How many of those 900 channels that you subscribe to do you actually watch?
Each month, consider taking a few minutes to review your bills to determine if you really need the services you’re paying for which could lead to a big savings.
d. Online purchases
The internet makes purchasing items simple. As we go about our week, we tend to make small purchases such as books or clothing items and these can seem insignificant individually. But over time, these impulse buys add up to a very significant number—the very definition of the Latte Factor.
6) Habits
Dave Ramsey once told a caller, “We buy things we don’t need with money we don’t have to impress people we don’t like.”
Most research tells us that spending money on stuff isn’t going to make us any happier.
If you take a look at what you’re routinely spending money on you’d find that it doesn’t bring you a great deal of joy. If you challenged yourself to forgo some of these for a month, I think you’d find that you don’t miss them quite as much as you think.
This is true whether we’re talking about that daily cup of coffee, the 700 DIRECTV channels, or a third car that hasn’t left the driveway in two years.
7) It’s not about the latte
I don’t want you to misunderstand what Henry is trying to teach Zoey. He’s not telling her that she can’t ever drink lattes again.
The Latte Factor is nothing more than a metaphor.
It could be anything people spend extra money on that they could live without such as:
cigarettes
candy
alcohol
Here’s how Henry described it to her:
“The latte factor isn’t about being a penny-pincher or denying yourself. It’s about getting clear on what matters. It’s about the little daily extravagances and frivolities, whatever they may be – the five, ten, twenty dollars a day that you could just as easily redirect toward your own future. From spending on yourself to paying yourself first. It’s about giving up something small to get up to something big.”
His point to her isn’t that she can’t ever spend money. (That wouldn’t work with Mrs. DFD either!) He wants her to enjoy life, buy a new outfit or go out to eat. But with one catch, always pay herself first.
I used to stress about saving enough and whether I could buy larger items or not. Once I figured out “my number” or how much I needed to invest in order to retire happy, it made it much easier to make financial decisions.
Bottom Line
Remember, most people feel that the solution to all of their money issues to to make more money…but it’s not. The solution is new money habits. Most of you reading this blog already make enough to build massive amounts of wealth and become a millionaire many times over.
Just as Henry taught Zoey, you ARE richer than you think. Most people save little to no money because they many times don’t see the point. They talk about getting a bigger home, nicer car, or a vacation home but must realize that none of those things matter. It’s what those things bring you that matter.
My challenge to you is to figure out what matters to you now (not later), and follow that.

Spencer:Hey everyone and welcome back to the Niche Pursuits podcast, I’m your host Spencer Haws from nichepursuits.com. Today I’ve got another great guest interview. Today is Rj Bryan and he does have a blog over at rjbryan.com. If you wanna follow along with what Rj is doing, you can go to rjbryan.com. It is a new blog but he’s starting to document some of what he’s doing building websites.
Rj has been a long time Niche Pursuits reader and follower back a couple of years ago. Started out with a case study with Perrin, the Niche Site Project 2 that we did. That’s when he started following along. Rj was able to implement things right away. His first site wasn’t a success as he’ll go into but his follow up site was a success. That one site is now making about $4,000 a month and he has a few other sites overall, now he’s making, I think he said about $6,000 to $7,000 per month and he’s actually in the process of selling off one of those sites on Empire Flippers right now.
Rj is able to dive in and share some interesting strategies for pillar post and doing keyword researching content and then we also dive into link building strategies and specifically some outreach and what he does for outreach and how he monitors some of his keywords that really is kind of a unique twist on things that I’ve done in the past. I think that you’ll get some good takeaways from this interview and so hopefully you enjoy it. Hey Rj, welcome to the Niche Pursuits podcast.
Rj:Hey Spencer, how you doing?
Spencer:I’m doing great. It’s great to have you on, I appreciate you taking time out of your day.
Rj:I appreciate being here.
Spencer:Before the interview, you shared a little bit about the sites that you’ve built and your niche site process and some of the success that you’ve had. I’m excited to dive into that and share that with listeners because I think you do have some good things that you can teach here on the podcast. But before we do, can you give us an idea of your background, your work experience previous to building websites?
Rj:Right after school, I basically became a professional couch hopper and then that was a couple of months after school. I got into residential real estate as an agent and then commercial under real estate developer because I wanted to own properties. I figure that would be the best way to go about it. After two and a half, three years of being in the real estate realm, I realized it wasn’t the route I wanted to go in terms of trying to build businesses. I actually started building my sites well, I was at my previous 9:00 to 5:00.
Spencer:That make sense. I know you’re in Brooklyn right now. Were you in Brooklyn when you were doing real estate and everything as well?
Rj:As an agent, I was in Manhattan in Park Avenue. In real estate development, I was in Brooklyn.
Spencer: Okay, very cool man. A lot of real estate going on in that area. It’s crazy. I watch the TV shows, I’d see what’s happening, with the prices online, it’s quite the world over there with real estate.
Rj:Definitely crazy. I think that’s one of the things that attracted me to the New York market, I’m from New York but after school I could’ve gone anywhere but I come back home because the market was looking nice.
Spencer:Give us a little bit of what was your incentive or what was your thought process for why you decided to get started building sites online.
Rj:It was kind of the same thought process when it came to me being an agent, it just was a different topic. I wanted to own properties and I didn’t have any money and I didn’t have a cloud or new people with money. The cost of entry in terms of being an investor is pretty high. I always wanted to own multiple businesses so I guess it got to a point where I started hearing things or reading things where people were saying they were making money online. Eventually, I got to see the scammer type looking information and stumbled upon some trustworthy information like you being one of them, of course, Pat Flynn, and I just started. This makes sense and let me just try this out.
Spencer:Can you give us an idea what year was it when you built your first site and how did it go?
Rj:My first profitable site or my first site in general?
Spencer:First site in general and then you can tell us about the first profitable one.
Rj:The first site in general was probably late 2012, early 2013. I’m not even sure if I still own it but it was long, obviously, it’s ridiculously long and that failed because I was in over my head, I didn’t have any kind of structure or anything to it. I wanted to do too much, it was going to be like a multimedia type platform where I wanted to do videos, written content, but I am a one man band, it was just too much. That’s that.
I was doing real estate and I was seeing these things online, my first profitable thing actually was an ebook that I just sold on Amazon called Manhattan Apartments which is still there, and I still get like $2 a month for it.
Spencer:Just like a Kindle eBook?
Rj:Yeah. PDF. I didn’t even make a special cover. If you ever upload a PDF book to Amazon, they have a cover maker and I just made it right in there. That was good for a little while because I was promoting it on my Instagram and on my Facebook but after a while, I kinda let it go and SEO took control, it’s just there. I found your site which I think it was right before Perrin or right at the time you started the case study with him and I just follow from there and then that’s when I got the main site that I have now that is basically my bread and butter.
Spencer:Awesome. That gives people a good idea. It was probably mid 2013 I wanna say to early 2014 is kinda when I was doing the case study with Perrin that you would’ve been starting to build along. What is that, two and a half, three years ago or something like that. You were able to at least you have your first taste of success with a Kindle ebook that is still bringing in a couple of bucks at least but you moved onto SEO, building niche sites. Where are you at right now? In terms of your business and your online business, how many sites do you have? Give us a sense of what you’re involved with right now.
Rj:I have my main site which I’m building to an authority site then, I have three smaller sites, one of which I’m in the process of selling and I just started a blog which I will showcase building another site. I probably, all together, have five sites.
Spencer:That keeps you busy. Again, you’re willing to share whatever you’re comfortable with here. What kind of success are you having? What sort of income are the sites bringing in?
Rj:I average about $6,000, $7,000 a month. The largest one is the one that’s bringing $4,000 a month. The one I’m selling is bringing around $900 a month and the other two are around like $300.
Spencer:That’s excellent, man. I hear about people making $5,000, $6,000, $7,000 a month with their niche sites all the time, to be honest. To take a step back and look at it, it really is impressive to be able to do that on your own as an entrepreneur with just building out these websites. To think about the income that people make on average here in the US, you’re making more, you know, with those sites. It’s something that you’re able to do on your own time, flexibility, there’s just so many upsides to be able to do that. Do you see that in the same way or do you to have to pinch yourself every once in awhile?
Rj:It’s pretty awesome. I don’t have to do anything I don’t want to. I appreciate that more than anything else, to be completely honest. Especially now that I’m successful, or somewhat successful in this online business world, people are asking what I do, how I do it and I’ll tell them because a lot of things I learned in the beginning was free. They don’t follow through. They say they hate their jobs, but to me, I really did not like having to get up at 9:00AM. I don’t believe people when they say that sometimes, do you really not like it? It was times when I have my 9:00 to 5:00 that I would wake up at 9:00. It was bad, I had to go. To answer your question, yes, I pinch myself. I’m excited and I think the freedom is one of the biggest reason that it’s a passion now.
Spencer:That’s the way it should be. You should be excited to do what you do all day. I know so many people, like you said, go to their 9:00 to 5:00 and they’re miserable and they don’t like it. Things don’t have to be that way. There’s a lot of people like you and I that are able to spend our time doing things that we enjoy, working hours that we want, if you wanna sleep in, that’s fine or some people wanna get up early or whatever people wanna do, they can make that schedule. That is one of the reasons that I do these podcast interviews, to have individuals like yourself to hopefully inspire people that are listening to know that it is possible, there are people out there doing it. Whatever that route is, whether it’s specifically with niche sites or some other business, but through your entrepreneurial efforts the people can pursue their dreams. If they want to spend more time with their family or work a flexible schedule or some have other big goal that they wanna accomplish, they can do that. I do appreciate you sharing your story, very much.
For people listening, I do wanna give them specific tactics for how you got there. Now that we kinda know how well your business is doing, can you give us an idea what the process is like for building a successful website?
Rj:I’ve thought about this a lot because I knew this is gonna come, obviously. I felt like there’s different tiers to it. I would say to listen and to take action because your site in which you’ve shown has been a really strong foundation for what I’ve done. I believe that if people will just listen and take action immediately, that’s huge. When you build off of that knowledge, if you start with keyword research and you just start understanding queries and analytics, then it becomes innate in a sense. It’s like pay attention to the analyst, pay attention to what someone like you is teaching and then take action and then you’ll be successful that way.
When it comes to tactics, when I’m looking for a niche, at this point I don’t go heavy into keyword research first. I think of something I wanna get into and then I do some research behind it, not looking for how I can make money because I’m already thinking about that when I picked the niche. There’s nothing new under the sun, really. Does that make sense?
Spencer:It does make sense.
Rj:I think of something that I do wanna get into, and then I go into my research and I pick some pillar keywords so I can make some really big piece in the content, and then I make a list of the Long Tail keywords, the queries that will be really, really helpful to people even if they don’t seem like they’re going to bring a lot income, the things that are searched 50 times a month, sometimes ten, it’s just quality information people want to know. That’s the whole point of your site, is that you wanna provide value. I think as long as you have those things in mind, you will build a strong site and the monetization comes in once you figure out just what affiliates there are or what ad services you wanna try to get into. That’s it for me.
Spencer:That is a great outline. I do wanna dissect some of what you said just a little bit. You mentioned that you’re not really specifically doing keyword research to at least find your niche, rather, you’re kinda finding a market or you’re finding a niche that you’re interested in or that you have passion about.
Rj:No, actually the passion part, that was my first trial. Strictly interested. I don’t have to be passionate about it.
Spencer:Some level of interest and that interest could partly be guided by perhaps potential revenue. You said you’re not thinking about that but it always is in the back of your mind. Does that sort of sway your decision, you’re a little interested but you see that this could be a really good money maker so I’m even more interested.
Rj:Exactly.
Spencer:That’s perfect. The other thing that I wanted to talk about a little bit is you mentioned these pillar posts that when you first set out your site, you think about some of these pillar posts and then you fill in a lot of the cracks with these Long Tail keywords. Let’s talk about these pillar posts. How many do you do and how do you determine what keyword should be a pillar post?
Rj:It really depends on the site but I like to find ten. When I’m thinking ten, I’m thinking for the year. I’m thinking something like one a month, once a month I put a huge post up so that I give myself time to promote that post. I could just order ten, find a great writer, order ten very in depth 2,000 to 4,000 word post and then just post it up, but then obviously SEO will take action in there after a couple of months and Google will crawl it and grab it up. If it’s that large of a keyword, if it’s 10,000 per month search or more, then obviously organic is not gonna be enough. Find ten and then give yourself time to do some outreach. In the midst of that, I may post three or four question posts or if it’s a product review, it might be a product review or a versus post, like best pencil versus best crayon, I don’t know.
Spencer:Pillar post, you say that they are anywhere from 2,000 to 4,000 or maybe more and it sounds like you focus specifically on keywords with higher search volume, maybe 10,000 or more, is that what you’re looking at? If you see a keyword, a juicy keyword that gets 10,000 searches per month, you might decide, you know what, this is worth a really in depth post. Is that kinda what you’re doing?
Rj:Yeah, exactly. When I started out, if you can remember you were teaching to find 2,000 a month searches. I started out doing that, and just organically, because after awhile I started just doing more and more and more, I wasn’t even waiting for the next podcast type of thing or the next update. As I was doing more and more, I just realized that I should aim just a little higher at some point. You get to a plateau, maybe I did it for about seven, eight months and realize this site is starting to make money but I’m not getting as many clicks so it’s just not happening enough and then it kinda organically started flowing to the higher numbers instead of search. The more tactics I learned, the less I focused on competitiveness. After a while, once you start link building and adding social media to your tactics, it doesn’t weigh as much. But if you’re just trying to get organic search, then it does matter a lot.
Spencer:That make sense and that does lead me to my next question about link building. You’ve mentioned outreach and building links a little bit here, I’d like to get your take on that, what some of your strategies are. If we could, I’d maybe like to start using a real example, I know before the call, we talked about one of your sites is being sold on Empire Flippers. We’re not gonna mention the exact domain but maybe you can mention the niche that it’s in and describe how you did link building for that site. What’s the niche of that site, either what you did, maybe not exactly for that site but just general strategies that you used on that site for link building.
Rj:That site actually didn’t have much link building. That one, I mostly did profiles, I forget what the actual term is, I used a lot of directories, old school. I don’t think people talk about that anymore. Do people still talk about?
Spencer:Directory links, I know you’re talking about profile links but it is kinda old school, you’re right, it’s not really something that people talk about much.
Rj:They don’t talk about it anymore because I guess it’s not as powerful as it used to be.
Spencer:Let’s talk about some of your better link building strategies whether or not it was for that site. What are a couple of really good strategies that you’re willing to share?
Rj:I’m using two. One is very powerful, a lot of people are doing the Skyscraper. Finding really good, something that has high search value, it’s really profitable. I use HREFs to figure out who’s linking, how many links people have and if I could know better the content that’s in the top of Google, the first two or three posts, and then emailing out and asking for a link, that’s been really helpful. There’s a lot of information on the Skyscraper method. I haven’t heard anyone that has had bad results with it.
Spencer:Exactly. Of course the Skyscraper Technique, that phrase is coined by Brian Dean over at backlinko.com, if people wanna check that out. Brian’s got a lot of link building strategies there. The Skyscraper Technique can work really well. Did you have another one that you wanted to share?
Rj:Yes, I mentioned I use HREFs and if you put your site, I think there’s a little area where you could link your site to HREFs and you could put some keywords in that you wanna keep track of and they send you emails when a post comes out that has your keywords. If your keyword is best crayons, you’ll get an email saying best crayons is mentioned today. I’ve never heard someone do this but I’ll just reach out to that site. I’ll wait for the week to be over because I think they send it when it happens. They send it whenever a post comes out. I’ll wait till the end of the week to where I have maybe five emails that says, “Oh, best crayons were mentioned.” And then it has a link to the post where it was mentioned and then I’ll email, let’s say I got ten that week, I’ll email those ten people. I’ve got on average three links.
Spencer:Out of ten?
Rj:Out of ten, yeah.
Spencer:Wow. That’s impressive. To clarify, within HREFs, there’s a place you can put, I don’t know what it’s called but monitoring of keyword mentions, you put in your keyword. If you put in a really general keyword. If you put in the word Google, you would get thousands of emails. You put in your specific keyword, best crayons or best whatever, it’s only when it’s an exact match that you get that response. Cool.
Rj:What you do is you make a whole profile, it’s just like it has a tab that says add website, you add your website and then they ask you a whole bunch of question like what are your goals and such and then you could track keywords. I’m looking at the set right now to see if I could see what they ask you exactly and I don’t see it but I know that it allowed me to add about four, maybe there could’ve been more about it, I just wasn’t interested in tracking more than that. I did receive emails periodically.
Spencer:That’s awesome, that’s a great strategy, I like that. Maybe dive into a little bit how you’re sending these outreach emails or what you’re saying? If you get an email that says, “Hey, this keyword has been mentioned by this article.” What’s the process there? Yeah, you can email them, what do you say in that email?
Rj:I make sure of different things that I’ve learned from you and Bryan Dean and the guys at Authority Hacker. It’s just, “Hey, I love your site, reading this article, great resource for that.” Just like most outreaches, the hardest part is the review pages, no one wants to link to those but other than that, if it’s informational, question posts and things of that nature, it works pretty well. I’ll just say, “Hey, I love your site, I was reading this article, I have some great information on my site.” And then I send over the link and I’ve tried the other way where you just send the email to see if they’re interested and actually, I’ve been doing it for like two months, I do them once a week.
I’m not sure if I have enough information on what worked the best because I’m not using any specific tracker with it. I think the one off straight question has been working for me even though I read from a lot of places that it’s better to just say, “Hey, what’s up,” first and then see if they’re interested in seeing the information. I’ve been getting success with the straight ask.
Spencer:That’s cool, man. That makes sense, I really like that. I haven’t done that exact thing and so there’s a new little twist there, I like that a lot, that’s very cool.
Rj:I also didn’t expect that to happen. I was kinda like, I got HREFs just to mostly do the Skyscraper and to try the keyword tool because I was a user of Long Tail Pro. Let me just try this thing out since I’m using it for the Skyscraper to get the backlinks. I didn’t really know they had an add website section. It was just me trying to use something, because it’s not cheap. I was trying to use this at the highest of all these features and then it just came by, then you know what? Maybe I could do something with this email that I’m getting.
Spencer:That’s awesome, very cool. You mentioned earlier how much some of your sites are making, your top site was making around $4,000 a month. Is there anything or any reason why you think that site is doing so much better than your other sites? If so, what’s that reason?
Rj:I think two reasons. One is it’s the longest standing site, it’s the oldest one. Two is because when I started it, I had no money. I used every free thing, every free piece of information and honed in on it until I found something else, but could take months to find something else. I was on your site religiously. Every single piece of hint of this might work, I used that until I was brain dead.
I don’t know for sure but I don’t think people use Google Webmaster enough because when you don’t have any money, then you use everything that’s free. I would be on Google Webmaster just trying to figure out, did a new keyword come up, where is that keyword attached to, is it a post I already have? If it was, then I’ll go to that page and see if I could place that in there without it being weird or put it in the old text. If it wasn’t something that was written about already or if it was maybe like a mixture of things, then I’ll write a new post. I got a lot of posts from using that and my rankings went higher because I really, really synced into Google Webmaster and I was really focused on page SEO. That was link building at first, I had no idea what that was actually and everything seemed too advanced for me. I focused on on-page SEO a lot and formatting a lot. I think that is where I drove a lot of things more than anything else.
Spencer:That’s interesting, that’s some good tips.
Rj:It’s like The Foundation, you know how they say don’t sweat the little things. I think when you start it out especially for free and you have nothing, then you just sweat the little things. I hired a VA just to do posts and something tells me they thought it was gonna be easy like I just said, “Oh well, go to this site and then copy and paste it onto the page.” No, I need you to break up the paragraphs properly, I need you to link to other sources and make sure those sources are great sources and also make sure those sources aren’t competition. She will get great images, there’s places where you can get great images, I need you to put some old text in there, I need you to put the keywords in there. If I have four pictures on the page, I’m not gonna put best crayon on each picture. I might put best crayon for kids, best crayon for acrobats. I might mix it up because it you do too much, I don’t know if you get penalized, but it just doesn’t feel right if you just constantly put best crayon, best crayon, best crayon.
I feel like if you really started out and you’re just doing the free tactics or getting free information, really focus on your on-page SEO until you master it. I think formatting is really, really, really important and placement of content, like headers and all that. Maybe I’m just saying that because I spent maybe a year just doing that.
Spencer:That was your journey and that’s what worked well for you and so I think that’s appropriate to share that for other people listening. It does make sense. There’s a steep learning curve when people are just starting out and trying to build sites. A lot of times, it does require hands on experience, you just have to be in the trenches whether that’s focusing on onpage or formatting or other aspects, you almost just have to be hands on doing it to learn it properly. You can read articles all day long but until you do something, get in, dive in, that’s when you’re really gonna learn the process.
Rj:Also, with the main site, I did a great amount of interviews which I think this is another one of your tactics from when I first started. I just reached out to some influencers in the market and I was like, “Hey, I wanna do an interview with you. I’ll just simply send you these questions and you can fill them out and that’s it.” I was okay with it, maybe I got about 5 out of 25 people to respond, but they were really good people. I guess you can say I was lucky anyway because who knows, I could’ve got the worst out of the 25 but I got some really, really good ones out of the 25.
Spencer:That’s a great tip as well because then not only do you get content from these influencers but once you post it of course, they’re gonna be much more likely to share it, share it on social media or with their audience. That helps as well. Any other tips for building niche websites that you’d like to share before we wrap up?
Rj:My head is racing, I have so much. There’s so much in my head. I would say don’t be afraid to spend money because I remember when I started out being in forums, people were saying, “I don’t wanna buy this tool, or this person is trying to scam me with this course.” I think it’s imperative to invest in your education and your site. Reinvest in your site but also reinvest in your education.
Once you get to a point, whether you have a 9:00 to 5:00 or a few sites making money, put some money back into your site but also buy a course. It’s fine and it maybe more formatting and eventually like for me, I probably bought about two courses and I always take great information from them and eventually I have my own way of doing things. I think that’s what the bigger goal should be. Figure out the way you do it, how it works for you and you’ll be successful.
Internal tactics, buy courses, invest in yourself and invest in tools to help. You might see yourself getting $1,000 a month or $2,000, you might need some extra help. You need to do something to boost that and take action. A mental thing that helped me when I first started, because I was skeptical in even buying a domain. I own too many domain names for no reason. I just do it on my phone.
Spencer:I think those are great tips. Like you were saying, it’s important to reinvest in sort of your education, whether that’s through a paid course or just spending the time to learn about something. A lot of times, you have to learn from other people for a little while and then at some point you’re able to internalize it and you can just implement that into your business.
Rj:At some point, for me it feels like second nature, it’s just I think of something and then I just go. It was for me a little nerve wrecking thinking of owning a website, writing content and then eventually hiring people to write content. The whole thing, it can be a little nerve wrecking but I think one thing that helped me mentally was telling myself, especially because I had a 9:00 to 5:00 and I wasn’t depending on it. I wasn’t starting a business, this can be a little backwards but I just thought of it as a project. I’m doing this project and I know the goals so I don’t take the goals lightly, the goal is to monetize and build something on strong. When I thought of it as a project and growing a project, I don’t know, something about it, a switch flipped in my head and it didn’t seem so scary.
Spencer:That’s a great tip. I think there’s a lot of mental hacks that we can do. That’s a great idea there to maybe make it seem less overwhelming but still keep you motivated. Very cool.
Rj, I appreciate your time very much, you’ve shared a lot of great information, actually a couple of things that, like I said, there are sort of a variation of things that I’ve done, but sort of a new approach to it. Hopefully people listening have been able to take away a few things that they can implement as well. If people did wanna stay in touch with you or reach out to you, what’s the best way for them to do that?
Rj:You can contact me at rjbryan.com. I just made my site, the email is [email protected].
Spencer:Perfect. If people wanna follow along, they can go over to rjbryan.com. Hey, thanks again, Rj, I appreciate it very much. It’s been great having you on the show.
Rj:I appreciate being here. Thank you.
Spencer:Thank you and thanks everybody for listening.

How to go from Zero to thriving business in 12 months
Is that even possible? Can you go from zero knowledge to a thriving startup and business in 12 months or am I just marketing speak?
I can tell you it is possible and many people do it. The truth is that if someone else can do it anyone else can.
Does it mean you will? It depends, on you!
Have big desires, dreams, and beliefs
I’m not going to make you any promises because I don’t know your level of desire, sacrifice, or burning pain that wants change. I don’t know your time constraints, your budgetary concerns, your insecurities and doubts that might get in the way?
I certainly don’t know how big your dreaming is which is why I’ll NEVER tell you it’s not possible.
Six years ago, many people would have said my big dreaming was not possible either. But I made it happen. It took a lot longer than 12 months, but I often wonder if I had the right tools and resources to show me how would it have been quicker?
Based on what I’ve learned when it comes time to success my answer would be a definite yes.
Success is not an enigma. You find those who have what you want, and you replicate what they’ve done … with your own flair!
Increase your value
That’s how you grow a business from zero to success: by growing who YOU are.
Who you are is what you’ll create.
It’s why you can go from zero to a thriving business in 12-months or less, and why many people do.
In the book, “6 months to 6 figures” the author Peter Voogd, talks about a business moving beyond the realm of jobs where we trade time for money.
A job is a place where it doesn’t matter if you have more value and work harder than the person in the cubicle beside you, you’ll make the same amount. Odds are if they were employed before you, they’d earn more even if they’re spending the day hiding on Facebook or running outside to catch a Pokemon when no one’s looking.
But, in the world of business, it becomes a level playing field because what you bring to the marketplace is your VALUE
So if you want to increase your income, you increase your value.
Do what it takes
Of course, you’re willing to do whatever it takes to make things happen. Start and run your business lean. Hustle hard until you hit your stride. Study and learn from smart entrepreneurs who’ve gone before.
But you’re up against a lot of challenges, too. Starting up and growing a business is not easy and don’t believe anyone who says so.
The challenges are there to help us learn and grow into the people who can create the dream.
Maybe you have that willingness and have great ideas, but you lack the specific business know-how. Money is probably tight. Your time is stretched thin. You’re bombarded with information but not sure who to listen to or what to do next.
Learn from the right people
You want to do things right and to do that; you need to learn from the best.
It’s why I’m always taking courses and reading books and can be intensely curious around someone who has the success I desire.
“How have you created what you have? What type of person do I have to become to do the same?”
No matter your position; there’s always a way to learn from the best.
August last year, I shared with you an amazing Startup Bundle filled with incredible educational resources to help you learn how to move from zero to thriving from the masters thriving … and in 12 months too if you wish.
They’re bringing it back .. but for only 48 hours. Many of you jumped on it last year, but if you missed out, here’s your chance to jump on it now.
The Ultimate Startup Bundle
The Ultimate Startup Bundle is a complete library of business and startup resources on all the topics you need to round out your business and avoid crucial mistakes along the way.
It contains over 60 eBooks, eCourses, and cheat sheets, all created by experienced business owners who’ve been there, done that, and know their stuff.
These hand-picked resources are designed to address each part of your startup journey with all the right tactics, tools, strategies and business insights to guide you on the road to success.
Including resources like The Growth Hacker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Jeff Goldenberg and Mark Hayes), The Lean Brand (Jeremiah Gardner), Born to Win (Zig Ziglar), and Booked (Josh Turner), it covers everything you need to know about how to:
start a business from scratch, even if you have no cash, connections, or are short on time
organize your days, weeks, and months to be more efficient, do more in less time and generate more revenue
build an audience of raving fans ready to buy anything you create
connect, collaborate, and create with linchpins and mentors who will skyrocket your success
double your sales and profit
scale your business from $0 to $100,000+ in one year
get the confidence to take smart risks, and begin reaping the rewards today
and learn to relax and recharge by putting your business on autopilot
With a product value of over $3,000, it’s the full meal deal and was carefully curated to give entrepreneurs like you an edge as you build your business.
At just $97 for the entire bundle, it’s a far cry less than you’ll pay for many monthly membership sites (often $50-$100 per month), online business courses (typically $999-$5,000), and let’s not even talk about the tens or hundreds of thousands you can spend on a traditional business degree.
But you’ve got to act now because the Ultimate Startup Bundle is only around for 48 hours, and then the team that created it loses their license to make this incredible library available.
Many of the authors and publishers (myself included)  have taken a big risk to make this happen for you, and in return, they’ve agreed to keep it to just 2 days. The bundle disappears for good on February 7 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
My premium training, “How to move from Blog to Business” is included in the bundle. Over 1000 people have taken this training and I’ve received loads of gratitude emails from those who have.
Caz’s training is FULL of wisdom and great actionable steps! Her wholistic picture of what it takes to make your dreams come to life is structured and proven. Make yourself a coffee, grab an empty notebook, and six pens, and get ready to have your mind blown!  Do it! Then do it again!” Israel Smith
The bundle doesn’t stop at ebooks and e-courses though. You’ll also receive free access to premium online software services to support your business, like:
ConvertKit 2 months FREE ($58.00)
ClickFunnels 1 month FREE + template and podcast ($297.00)
SmartCart 90 days FREE + grandfathered pricing of $99/month ($297.00)
Thinkific 3 months FREE “business” account ($237.00)
That’s a value worth over $900, which makes the small investment of $97 even more of a no-brainer.
Note: I am an affiliate partner for the bundle, which means I do receive a small commission if you purchase via my link. My product is in the bundle, which is one reason I’m happy to support it as an affiliate – I know the products are high quality and the founders are trustworthy. I’ve also tested the other products myself, and as a way of saying thanks to those who purchase through me, I’ve included a super awesome bonus (more on that below)
How to avoid overwhelm with so many amazing resources
I get it. You’re probably thinking, “What am I going to do with over 60 ebooks/courses?”
Overwhelm is a success killer, and I thought the same thing when I received my bundle. OMG, where do I start?
The bundle comes with a “Startup Roadmap” to help you identify which books and courses are most relevant to you. Knowledge is power, but only if you can access it, right?
The roadmap will help you find where you are in your online business journey, what you need help with, and what strategies and tools in the bundle are the best starting point for you.
The thing with this bundle is you don’t have to read everything right now. I’m not going to pretend to you that every book and course is going to be relevant to you.
It’s not. But, it’s only going to take a few of the books and courses to get you moving towards that thriving business and help you start saving time and money.
A couple of the courses alone are worth $300, and my training is worth $77. (and my special bonus I’m offering below possibly even more!)
Let me tell you what I did to avoid the overwhelm:
The Dashboard of the Ultimate Bundle is carefully organized into subject matters and resource type so you can quickly find what you need.
I went straight to the courses to see what was relevant to me now. Courses can get you straight to what you want to get done now for your business. They are ideal for making action happen and for driving motivation.
They are usually higher priced, so you feel you’re getting more than your money’s worth from the starting point. That’s important as it motivates you to keep going.
I started a few of the courses straight away (see below) not because I necessarily needed the information, but I wanted to test it out so I could tell you if I thought it was a valuable addition or not. I’ll get back to the more advanced courses later that are relevant to me.
Then I went through the ebook list and chose a few books that I felt were relevant for me at this stage (+ a couple more for me to check out to see if it was good for you if you’re starting out.) You get the PDF version of the ebook + the mobi and epub files.
15 minutes of reading of an evening gets you through an insane amount of books. You want to take action on what you’re learning, but there’s also an enormous amount of value in just reading the words of successful people over and over again. It seeps into your psyche and slowly changes you into the individual who has immense value to bring to the marketplace.
The words, thoughts, and ideas you read become you.
If you read just before bed and take those words with you into the subconscious, you’ll absorb it far faster and become that person. That’s why this bundle is so great. You have an entire library of books you can read on your e-reader. You can highlight and take notes and then be ready to act on them in the morning. And if it’s not relevant, there will still be words and thoughts of successful people seeing into your subconscious and helping you become that successful business person.
I usually spend on average $10- $20 per book for my e-reader device. (I use a kobo) For the same price of 10 books with the Ultimate Bundle, I get over 60. It’s a no-brainer.
Here’s what I know:
The more I learn, the more I grow. The more I grow, the more I know. The more I know, the more value I have. The more value I have, the more value I give. The more I give, the more I receive.
A quick glance at a few of the resources in the Ultimate Bundle
There’s no way I’m going to review over 60 ebooks and courses for you. That would give you and me a headache, and I can’t even get through all of them in a year myself.
I know you’re concerned about whether you’ll get value or not. So I’ve gone through a couple of resources for you to show you how you will get over and above the $97 investment.
QuitN6 Internet Business course – value $300
Who doesn’t want to quit their job in 6 months? Here’s a clear and clever roadmap to follow.
I’m only two lessons in and I’m already blown away. Both lessons have hundreds of comments from course participants, which have allowed me to gain further insights into the value of the course – they’re happy and getting a lot of clarity and insights.
I found myself nodding through the introductory lessons as Steve talks about the important things to do in your business from the beginning. I was nodding because we didn’t do it and it’s those things I’m always saying, “If I were to start again, I would do that differently.”
The course comes with video tutorials, step-by-step guides, and PDF worksheets.
I’d never heard of Steve Reed before. When someone’s making $100,000 revenue a month online and has a course like this, I’m paying attention and finding out more about him.
You’ve totally got your money’s worth with this course alone. Follow his teachings and you will be quitting your job in six months. But again, as mentioned in the beginning, ultimately it’s up to you.

This is an email series perfect for those starting their first online business (even for people like me for a good review and refine.) I learned something I’d not heard before in his first email and upon reviewing our website was relieved to see we’d done it without even realizing it!
The lessons come every day, are short and sweet, but give you simple techniques that can take your business to the thriving stage very quickly.
I’ve just moved into the copywriting segment of the training and love it. I’ve done a lot of training and courses with copywriting, but Bnnon’s approach is innovative and fresh. I’m excited each time I receive another lesson as I know it’s going to help sharpen my craft so I can grow.
Facebook Ads Manual: Everything You Need to Know to Get Started by Mojca Mars
Let me tell you about this ebook! It as simple, concise and easy to understand. It helped me get a successful ad campaign running on Facebook within two days. It took me over two years to gain the confidence to even try it. This book empowered me and I’m stoked.
I can tell you I previously spent nearly $1000 on a Facebook Ads course that didn’t deliver as much value and did not inspire me into action. I left confused and cranky. I could be an affiliate for that course and make way more money, but I don’t recommend things to you that aren’t exceptional. This ebook will help you get results and quickly.
6 Months to 6 Figures: The Fastest Way to Go From Where You Are to Where You Want to be Regardless of the Economy
I guess you want to get to six figures pretty quick. This ebook by Peter Voogd aligns well with Quitn6. I love it.
I’ve been sharing quotes from it each evening on Snapchat, and it’s fired me up to reach even higher in our business. I was ecstatic to see a lot of what he talks about aligns with my Blog to Business course and Step into Sacredness ebook. I haven’t read the other five yet to see if they are in alignment too.
Automate Your Routines, Guarantee Your Results by Kathryn Jones
I recommend getting started with this ebook, particularly if you want to take your business on the travel road. Automation will be key in giving you more time for travel (or anything you love). It removes a lot of angst, frustration and unnecessary work.
The ebook is quick and concise and outlines a clear strategy for you to follow to start that automation.
Buy Your Own Island: The Ultimate Guide to Breaking Free and Making Your Dreams Reality
This ebook by Danny Flood is jam packed with useful information on starting and growing your business, as well as how to manage it on the road, helpful hacking tips, different ways you can make money, and useful networking techniques.
That’s the perfect starting point for you to avoid overwhelm and to learn great strategies and insights into how to start up and grow your own successful business.
I know Danny personally, having been interviewed on his podcast and chatting with him over email. He knows what he’s doing and is a brilliant networker and connector and lives a very exciting life.

My Final Takeaway
The Side Hustles that Make the Most Money
These first five are favorites because they are quick ways to get started making extra money and they have long-term potential as well! All five of them do require an internet connection, but sine you’re reading this from the internet, I think you’re covered there ?
1. Make $1,000 – $2,000 Per Month Running Facebook Ads
Bobby Hoyt from Laptop Empires has the best program for teaching people how to run Facebook Ads and states you will earn $1,000 – $2,000 per month per client as their Facebook ads manager. Of course I had to look into this claim to make sure it’s accurate, and I can tell you this — he’s not exaggerating at all. You can see how he’s helped countless people create real side hustle income to eventually replace their full-time jobs doing Facebook ads here.
Learn How to Run Facebook Ads
Think about it: if you could help a business owner spend $10,000 to make $30,000, would it be worth it to them to pay you $1,000 – $2,000 per month to do that for them?
2. Earn up to $50/hour as a Virtual Assistant
Maybe you don’t like the idea of doing Facebook ads but you do enjoy working from your laptop.
Many small businesses (like Money Peach) need help but don’t want to bring on staff to their location, so instead they turn to virtual support. This virtual support can be a range of things from responding to and checking email, scheduling meetings, booking travel arrangements, updating social media content — really anything you can do online.
The starting pay for virtual assistants is really good — $15 – $50 per hour.
With the flexibility of working from anywhere with an internet connection, the virtual assistant industry has exploded. If you are looking to earn reliable extra income each month, I recommend you get started with Kayla Sloan’s 10k VA program to learn how to become and market yourself as a virtual assistant (VA).
I met Kayla at a conference in 2015 and she was my first ever VA — she lived in Kansas and I lived in Arizona. However, for the next four years she became the right-hand of Money Peach and I would not have been able to grow without her help.
Because she was so talented, word spread quickly and she soon picked up more clients. Within a few short years, her income increased to over $10,000 per month and today she is now showing others how to do the same without them trying to figure it out alone.
Kayla’s program is my first choice because you’ll make much more money when you create your own virtual assistant business. Plus, Kayla will also help you find work through her well-known network of bloggers and online entrepreneurs.
However, if you’re not quite ready to go that route, then look at sites like Upwork which is  a placement agency for virtual assistants. Keep in mind, they won’t teach you how to become a VA, they will take 10% of your income and their jobs often don’t pay as much.
You can also listen to Episode 80 on the Money Peach Podcast where interview Kayla Sloan — the founder of 10kVA.

In addition to writing, she also has a passion for helping others earn real income as a freelance writer. If you are even thinking about getting into freelance writing as a side hustle or even as a way to replace your current income, I highly recommend you look into Holly’s freelance writing coaching program.
She not only will show you how to be a really good freelance writer, but she will help you find and land the writing jobs you are looking for. Personally, I can tell you I am one of many bloggers who often hires writers from her program because of the reputation she has and the quality of writers she sends to Money Peach.

4. Earn Money Through Your Own Blog or Website
One of the best decisions I made in my life was creating Money Peach. What started out as a tiny little blog in 2015 has grown to reach readers all over the world and help them save more, make more, and keep more of their money. And yes, creating a blog has generated lots of income for our family since I started.
How to Earn Money Via a Blog
If you have a topic you’re passionate about and you enjoy writing, then starting a blog is exactly the right side hustle for you. There are many ways to generate income from blogging, with one of the most popular being through affiliate income.
How it works:
You know how you can share a referral link from companies you love and they will send you $5 for referring them a customer? Affiliate partners work the exact same way.
How to Earn more money with your Own Website
If you’re looking to do any of the side hustles mentioned above, you’re going to want to create a simple website.
If you’re looking for a simple way to get started building a quick blog or website, I created a free step-by-step guide to help you get started. This guide will allow you to build your blog or website in 15 – 20 minutes and for just a few dollars.
Start Your Own Blog or Website
5. How to Earn Money with Affiliate Marketing
This side hustle actually piggy backs off the side hustle above — Create Your Own Blog or Website.
When I created this blog in the beginning, I didn’t know anything about affiliate marketing. I just enjoyed blogging about how to make money, save money, and keep money and it was a passionate hobby. That was until someone told me my blog could be generating thousands of dollars per month if I added in affiliate marketing.
I didn’t know what to do or how to get started, so I enrolled in a friend’s program called Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing and within 60 days I increased the monthly income from my tiny little blog by $1,705! Yes, I was more than just a little shocked and since then I have told everyone I know about her program because it really changed my life. I don’t know about you, but $1,705 extra per month for making some tweaks to my blog is life-changing.

However, from a teacher I have spoke with from VIPKID, she said “teaching doesn’t have to mean teaching in a traditional educational setting.

The Side Hustles That Put Your “Stuff” to Work
I’m sure you’re fully aware, but a market has emerged and took over where your stuff actually makes money for you. This started with using your car as a taxi service with Uber or renting out your spare room through Airbnb. However, there is now just about a market for anything you can think of in terms of your stuff making money for you. I’m going to start off with the less obvious.
7. Earn $600/month Renting Out Baby Equipment

8. Earn $1,000 – $1,500 Per Month Renting Out Your RV
Since I don’t personally own an RV, I did do some research and found that since their start date in 2014, Outdoorsy has facilitated over 240k RV trips and has over 10,000 reviews on Trustpilot rating with a 4.6 out of 5.
Rent Out Your RV

11. Earn $1,000 – $2,000 Renting Out Your Room

The Side Hustles That Pay Quickly
These side hustles will not generate the income you can generate with the above list, but they are something you can do right away and get paid quickly.
Survey Junkie has over 14,000 reviews with a Trustpilot score of 4.3 out of 5 — the highest rating among all survey sites.
Survey Junkie
Swagbucks
14. Earn $3 – $100 Doing Random Tasks
15. Door Dash
Door Dash is our favorite pick for food delivery because it’s been reported back to us that DoorDashers make slightly more than UberEats drivers. While we don’t have any factual statistics to prove this right or wrong, we still pick DoorDash over UberEats as our top side hustle for food delivery. If you have a car, bike, or scooter, get started with Door Dash today and start making money for your next vacation, your upcoming wedding, or whatever expense you’re saving for!
Maybe you just don’t feel like driving people around in your car or maybe you don’t even have a car. Depending on the city you live in, Uber Eats allows you to deliver food to people via your car, bike, or scooter. Turn on the app in the morning before work, when you get home, or whenever you have some extra time to make money on your terms.
Door Dash
16. Uber Driver-Partner
If you are unfamiliar with Uber or Lyft, then make sure you still have a pulse and you are breathing air.
To get started, some minimum requirements you need are a car, a smartphone, and the Uber or Lyft app. You become available to drive as soon as you complete the activation process and then you are ready to start earning money. Fares are paid out weekly or up to 5X a day when you register for Instant Pay with your debit card!
Today, there are more riders on the road than ever! This is one of my absolute favorite ways to start generating money quickly.
Drive with Uber
17. Uber Eats
Uber Eats
18. Fiverr
Fiverr is a platform where you can sell your products and services starting at $5 per gig. After you have a few $5 gigs under your belt, you can start increasing how much you charge. Here at Money Peach, we hire people from Fiverr all the time. Just recently, we found someone for a quick logo design and another to transcribe some videos we created.
Also, the Fiverr platform does take 20% from each gig. Therefore, if you do a $5 gig, you will take home $4 per gig. However, if you can complete 3-4 gigs in an hour, your hourly rate could start at $16 – $20 per hour!
Fiverr
The Referral Program Side Hustles
These sites mentioned below are not to be used as a source of income, but rather a simple way to make a few bucks here and there. Most of them mentioned are ways to save money online, however they do offer gift cards for referring your friends. Again, not a big money-maker but more of a reminder you can still make a few bucks if you use any of these sits.

21. Amazon
Selling on Amazon is almost identical as selling on eBay in terms of fees and ease of use. However, sometimes items that don’t sell as well on eBay do better on Amazon and vice versa. Either way, it is a side hustle worth looking at if you can buy for cheap and resell for a higher price.
22. eBook Publishing
Make money by writing your own book and self publishing it on Amazon for free. There are different options available for how your can price your book and earn income from the sale of your book in the Amazon store. Questions about self publishing your own book? Check this out.
25. Zazzle
Make money on Zazzle as a designer by selling your artwork on different products or you can actually make and manufacture the products for sale. I have a friend who takes old dry wood and paints slogans on them. She needs to sell them on Zazzle; she could create a very quick and profitable side hustle.
27. Sell Your Photos Online
Do you take amazing photos? You can actually sell your photos online at places like iStockPhoto, Shutterstock, Fotolia, and Bigstockphoto. Photos can be sold over and over again, allowing you to earn a residual income!
The Get Hired to Work Online Side Hustles
Start transcribing with Rev.com
30. Start a Web Design Business
If you’re knowledgeable about web design, you could make money creating or improving on websites for individuals or businesses.
Advertise on Craigslist or approach businesses directly if they have a website that needs improvement.
There really is no shortage of ways to make extra money if you’re willing to get creative and do some research. Which financial goals will you use the extra cash you earn to accomplish?

The Some Skill Required Side Hustles
So, not all side hustles are for everyone. In fact, these ones below do require some skill to make money. But, the more skill you have, the more money you will make!
34. Become a Voiceover Artist
35. Become a Cover Letter/Resume’ Writer
Professionals of all kinds pay ridiculous amounts of money for professionally written resumes. I know one guy who paid a professional resume’ writer $5,000.
If you have a knack for writing compelling and attention-grabbing resumes, consider offering your services on sites such as freelancer.com or Craigslist.
36. Catering
If you love cooking, serving food, and entertaining at your own home, then get paid to do it for someone else. This can be fun and can often go from side hustle to full-time if you’re really good at it!
37. Computer Repair
If you love “playing” computers, then help someone repair theirs and get paid for it. Note: You must know a little bit about computers 🙂
38. Computer Training
How many Baby Boomers (or anyone for that matter) do you know who are still having trouble checking their email. If you were able to navigate to this web page, then you probably have the skills to teach extremely basic computer skills to an extreme beginner.
39. Guitar Gigs
A friend of mine finds guitar gigs online, on Facebook, and in the paper all the time. He shows up, plays for a few hours, and leaves with cash in hand. Note: you must be good at playing the guitar.
40. Guitar Lessons
If you are handy on the 6 string and can show someone else, teach them. Better yet, teach the world online how to play guitar.
41. Handyman Work
Some people are handy and others are not. Let your neighbors know that you are available to hang a ceiling fan, patch a hole in the drywall, fix an irrigation leak, or paint a fence. All can be done for them ASAP for a small fee 🙂
I love TaskRabbit. Whether I need a doggy door installed, someone to clean my house this weekend, or even mount a TV, I can go on TaskRabbit to find someone in an instant. YOU could be that person I find next on TaskRabbit for hire!
42. Lifeguard
Become a lifeguard and earn $16/hr – $20/hr part-time. Not only do you make some extra cash, but you are guaranteed to get a little tan as well.
43. Earn $30 – $85 Per Hour Tutoring
44. Teach Music Lessons
From singing to playing piano or any other number of instruments, parents everywhere are seeking music lessons for their kids.
If you have a gift for a musical skills, consider teaching that skill to local kids. You might be able to find jobs by looking on Craigslist or by seeking out local public school or homeschooling groups to connect with parents who have school-aged children.
48. Earn $500 – $1,000 per Month House Cleaning
People are busy and don’t have time to clean their homes. This is where you come in. Search your area in Craigslist to get an idea for pricing your own services. Then market your services to friends, family and ask for referrals. Don’t be shy — the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
49. Earn $500 – $1,000 Per Month Mowing Lawns
51. Earn $25 – $75 Per Hour Shoveling Snow
53. Sell Your Hair Online – Price Varies
Thinking about a new hair style? You may want to. People are paying between $100 and $4,000 for quality hair. Just remember to wash it more than once a month before you get ready to sell. A great place to sell your hair is Hairsellon and they have a hair calculator here to show you how much they will pay you.
54. Make $50 Per Hour Painting Street Numbers
A father and son rang my doorbell and pointed out to me my street numbers were faded. “For only $10, they would repaint my street numbers so my house would look better”. I paid it and it took them 37 seconds. They did 6 houses on my street alone. This is a great little side hustle.
55. Make $40 Per Hour Doing Tasks For People
Whether someone needs furniture assembled, they need a package delivered across town, they need their TV hung on the wall, or a ceiling fan installed, you can get hired to do all these and much more via Task Rabbit.
57. Be a Work-From-Home Customer Service Rep
Rates vary from state to state, but you can make on average $200/month for only a few hours of your time….and blood.
We have a full list of where you can earn $400 per month donating plasma here.
63. Earn $40 – $80 per Hour as a Cuddler
Ah yes, cuddling. This is an actual real job and I recently saw it featured in a news segment. People are paying for up to 3 hours of platonic hugging (and they pay a lot). Job requirements: enjoy hugging strangers.
64. Pick up Dog Poop
Who likes picking up dog poop? Nobody. This is why you can get paid for it. I did this interview on our local news channel about a guy who now makes a full-time living picking up dog poop.
youtube
65. Earn $20 – $50 Per Hour as a Rent-a-Friend
66. Babysitting
If you like kids and don’t go out on the weekends, become a babysitter. Advertise to all of your friends (and Facebook Friends) that you will watch their kids so they can have a date night. New to the area? Then get connected with Care.com to become a certified/recommended babysitter in your area.
67. Dog Walking
Create this ad: “Love your dog but simply don’t have time to walk them? Let me help you!” There will always be someone willing to pay to keep their doggy happy, and this person is you.
69. Golf Course
If you love being around the golf course (or don’t mind a few drunk old men) you can make pretty good money part-time by collecting balls off the range, cleaning golf carts, or serving cold beers at the tee box.
79. House-sitting
Who doesn’t want to get paid for simply living in someone else’s house for a few day days? This is simple and people will pay you for it. You can think of it as a mini staycation too!
70. Mystery Shopper
Get paid $10 – $30 on average to be a mystery shopper. However, beware because there are a lot of scams out there. I recommend checking out Marketforce, Best Mark, and Intelli-101 before you head anywhere else.
71. Pet Grooming
There are people out there that simply will not shave their dog and will pay you for it. Create a Facebook Page called “iShaveDogs” and let all your friends know! Someone will hire you.
72. Pet Sitting
If you truly love animals, then why not get paid to hang out with someone else’s dog or cat for the weekend? You can become a pet sitter at Care.com or specialize in only watching over someone’s pooch at Rover.
73. Sell ScrapMetal
Post in your social media or offer in the newspaper that you will come and take any scrap metal away for people. Not only could you make a few extra bucks for hauling away metal, but then you could sell it at a scrap yard. Double whammy!
74. Sign Spinner
Do you ever see those people standing on the corner, wearing headphones, oblivious to the entire world around them, and flipping signs in the air? They are making money and you can too. What about sign holder? Well, maybe you’re not the spinning type…
My Final Takeaway
As you can see, we live in a time when anyone who wants to make a little (or a lot) of money can. Your local area is no longer the only area to make money. The entire world is at your fingertips through the use of many of the options mentioned in this post.
What is one skill you have that others could learn from? Think about what’s the one thing you actually love doing that people would want to pay you for? How can you take your side hustle idea and turn it into monthly income?
3…2…1… it’s go time my friends!

If you’re looking for a simple way to get started building a quick blog or website, I created a free step-by-step guide to help you get started. This guide will allow you to build your blog or website in 15 – 20 minutes and for just a few dollars.

8. Earn $1,000 – $1,500 Per Month Renting Out Your RV
Since I don’t personally own an RV, I did do some research and found that since their start date in 2014, Outdoorsy has facilitated over 240k RV trips and has over 10,000 reviews on Trustpilot rating with a 4.6 out of 5.

11. Earn $1,000 – $2,000 Renting Out Your Room

The Side Hustles That Pay Quickly
These side hustles will not generate the income you can generate with the above list, but they are something you can do right away and get paid quickly.
Survey Junkie has over 14,000 reviews with a Trustpilot score of 4.3 out of 5 — the highest rating among all survey sites.

14. Earn $3 – $100 Doing Random Tasks
17. Uber Eats

25. Zazzle
Make money on Zazzle as a designer by selling your artwork on different products or you can actually make and manufacture the products for sale. I have a friend who takes old dry wood and paints slogans on them. She needs to sell them on Zazzle; she could create a very quick and profitable side hustle.
Start transcribing with Rev.com

34. Become a Voiceover Artist
51. Earn $25 – $75 Per Hour Shoveling Snow
