AH’s “much-beloved” Matthew Clarkson
One of the themes I return to on this blog are all the people who get left out, from those who were obviously prominently placed in AH’s life through family ties - Philip Schuyler, John B. Church - to those who are at the margins because lack of letters or lack of fame pushed them there. In the second category, one can include near lifelong friends Nicholas Fish and John Laurance, and then a long line of others: Rufus King, Nathaniel Pendleton, Oliver Wolcott, William Bayard (his tearful display suggests more than a passing attachment to a fellow lawyer), John Mason, William Jackson, Timothy Pickering, Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, Josiah Odgen Hoffmann, Richard Varick, Richard Harison etc. etc. (I think people sufficiently know McHenry, Laurens, Troup, Stevens, and G. Morris.)
Let’s shine the light on Matthew Clarkson for a moment. Here is how John Church Hamilton describes his father’s death scene:
Meanwhile his numerous agonized friends crowded around the mansion where Hamilton lay, waiting through the sad hours each change in his pallid countenance with breathless apprehension. His elder comrades of the Revolution were there - gray, wondering old men, bowed with years - remembering him a youth in the first hours of his glorious anticipations, in the earliest triumphs of his genius and his valor. The loving, sighing companions of his later years, his grateful clients - the many witnesses of his benevolence were there. They sat under the trees in mourning, silent woe, awaiting the issue, as though some judgment was coming upon the earth.
At [AH’s] bedside were his wife and children - the grieving clergy - his tearful physician - and his much-beloved Clarkson.*
*footnote: General Matthew Clarkson. In the Revolution distinguished for his chivalry. In after life, for his piety and eminent virtues. The Life of Alexander Hamilton, vol 7, p. 835.
Of all the people who could be named by JCH, Clarkson? Why?
Matthew Clarkson (b Oct 1758) was a native New Yorker from a prominent family with long-established ties (See Clarksons of New York, A sketch for a history). His family intermarried with the De Peysters and Van Cortlandts in the first half of the century.
Clarkson volunteered for the Army (or according to the source above, was sent by his father to fight when not yet 17). It’s not clear to me when he and AH first met, but considering that Clarkson was staying with William Livingston on 18July1777 (Gen. Nathanael Greene writes to him there), they may have met as early as 1773. In August 1777, Clarkson was given the rank of major and became an aide-de-camp to Maj. Gen. Benedict Arnold. As Greene wrote to him: “I have the pleasure to acquaint you there is an opportunity now present for you to join the army, I hope to your liking. General Arnold is on his way to the Northern Department, he is in want of an aid-de-camp and I have taken the liberty to recommend you to the General. He is pleased to honor the recommendation and offers you the appointment. You will put yourself in readiness as soon as possible and follow the General to Albany, where you will join his family. Make my compliments to the Governor’s family.” Clarkson was present at the Battle of Saratoga (he’s in the painting as the second to last person on the right; Ebenezer Stevens is the dark haired gentlemen in front of him; Philip Schuyler is a couple of people to the left in brown jacket, non-military dress). He served as Arnold’s aide-de-camp until March 1779, and then became Maj. Gen. Benjamin Lincoln’s aide-de-camp.
Clarkson was taken prisoner upon the capture of Charleston on 12 May 1780, paroled to Pennsylvania, and exchanged that fall. He was present at the surrender of Cornwallis, and in June 1782 requested an extended leave of absence from the army. Clarkson obtained a brevet as lieutenant colonel upon the completion of his military service in late 1783. x
From G. Washington:
Major Matthew Clarkson commenced his military Services as a Volunteer early in the present War. In the Year 1777 he received a Majority in the Army of the United States, and was present at the Surrender of Lieut. General Burgoyne at Saratoga, having been active in all the principal antecedent Engagements, which produced that Event—In the Year 1779 was appointed Aide de Camp to Major General Lincoln (now Secretary at War) then commanding Officer in the Southern Department, & in that Character served at the Siege of Savannah. In 1780 he acted as Major of a Corps of Light Infantry during the Siege of Charles-Town. In 1782 He returned to his former Situation as Aide de Camp to Major General Lincoln, and was present at the Reduction of the British Posts of York and Gloucester under the Command of Lieut. General Earl Cornwallis. Soon after this, when Major General Lincoln became Secretary at War, he was appointed his Assistant. In all which Stations, from my own Knowledge and the Reports of the General Officer under whose immediate Orders he has served, I am authorised to declare that He has acquitted himself with great Honour. Given under my Hand And Seal at the Head-Quarters of the American Army the twenty-fourth Day of June in the Year 1782.
Clarkson then worked as a merchant, but mostly did what wealthy and prominent men (”the rich and well-born”) did back then: held a series of prestigious positions, elected and otherwise. I’m just going to copy Wikipedia:
As a Regent of the University of the State of New York he was presented at the court of French King Louis XVI. He served as a Federalist member of the 13th New York State Legislature in the New York State Assembly for one term from 1789 to 1790, where he introduced a bill for the gradual abolition of slavery in the state. From 1791 to 1792, he served as U.S. Marshal. In 1793, he was elected to fill the vacancy, in place of Philip Van Cortlandt, as State Senator in the 17th New York State Legislature representing the Southern District, which consisted of Kings, New York, Queens, Richmond, Suffolk and Westchester counties. He served until 1795 after being reelected to the 18th Legislature, and resigning before he completed his full four year term.He was also a member of the commission to build a new prison 1796-1797 and President of the New York (City) Hospital (1799). In 1802, Clarkson was the Federalist candidate for U.S. Senator from New York but was defeated by DeWitt Clinton. He became President of the Bank of New York in 1804.
In February 1795, Clarkson was appointed commissioner of loans for New York. (See H to George Washington, January 14, 1795). He resigned this position in September 1801.
On May 21, 1796, Washington nominated Clarkson as the United States commissioner under Article 21 of the treaty signed at San Lorenzo el Real (Pinckney’s Treaty) on October 27, 1795, between the United States and Spain, and on May 24, 1796, the Senate confirmed the appointment.
In 1798 Clarkson became a director of the New York branch of the Bank of the United States. He was also on the committee of the Society for Establishing Useful Manufactures.
Clarkson’s first wife was the niece of William Alexander, Lord Stirling. His daughter with her married her cousin, the oldest son of John Jay and Sarah Livingston. (Clarkson first married in 1785, which again fits my pet theory that these men generally did not marry until their military service was complete - AH was the outlier among his friends in doing so.) After Mary Rutherfurd’s death in 1786, he married Sally Cornell in 1792. She died in 1803. Clarkson had eight children total; he didn’t name any of them Alexander, though he did name one William Bayard. Matthew Clarkson died in 1825.
So what was the relationship between Clarkson and AH like? He’s one of those we don’t get many letters to/from in part because they’re all usually living in NYC. From Founders, we only have two letters, both professional, from AH to Clarkson. There’s only one letter from Clarkson to AH:
Dear Sir, I have reflected maturely on our conversation of yesterday. The result is, as far as I can with propriety I decline, at present, any military appointment. The duty I owe my Family seems to demand this of me, nor can I believe I give too great weight to this consideration when I consider the very small probability there is of any serious military operations taking place in this Country and the real injury I should sustain by being called from my present pursuits. These however are my reflections, if they are wrong, counsel me otherways, at any rate believe me with the greatest Regard and Esteem Dear Sir Yours very sincerely. 20August1798, Clarkson to AH, Here’s a digital copy of the letter.
In preparing for his duel with Burr, while AH gave Church power of attorney, he named Church, John Laurance, and Clarkson as trustees for his property (except his books of Divinity). Founders notes that on April 11, 1805, Church, Laurance, and Clarkson purchased the remaining land, an additional 17 acres, that comprised the Grange property.
Clarkson was one of the pallbearers at AH’s funeral, alongside Oliver Wolcott, Richard Harrison, Josiah Ogden Hoffman, Richard Varick, William Bayard, and Laurance.
From the Hamilton side, the strongest statements of the friendship between AH and Clarkson come from JCH and EH, oddly enough. She wrote to Clarkson:
“...As you have always been the friend of my dear husband, I now pray you may be the friend of his Son [Alexander Jr.]....could you permit him sometimes to accompany you in your walks, that he might hear from you thou just sometimes of Religion as well as thou on Other subjects that have always marked your character. ” 17Sept1804, EH to Clarkson; credit: runawayforthesummer
And 25 years later:
I introduce to your kindness and civilities the sons in law of your respected Friend General Clarkson [a] particular friend of my Hamilton.” 10Apr1830, EH to Marquis de Lafayette, credit: runawayforthesummer
I have not searched for Clarkson’s letters to others to see if more can be ascertained there. I’ll continue to wonder why JCH specifically noted Clarkson’s presence, and what he meant to the Hamilton family. Here’s a pic of the Stuart painting of Clarkson from 1794; he’s wearing his Society of the Cincinnati badge. (Looks like Trumbull based his figure of Clarkson on this one.)
#Matthew Clarkson#Alexander Hamilton#Elizabeth Hamilton#John Church Hamilton#friends#I have a theory that he was EH's much-beloved special friend#following AH's death#and that's why JCH remembers him so prominently#I'm joking - not really but that would have been 15 kids between the two of them

I come bringing ideas and headcanons.
OK, so we all already know what The Three oldest archons abilities. So I’ve come up with my own ideas we could use for the younger archons! (And yes I’m grouping Ei, Venti and Zhongli as the older siblings since Ei Is 1000 years old Venti is 2,500 and Zhongli is 5,000-6,000 and the other archons are still in the hundreds I think)
Again these aren’t canon just stuff you can use for future Requests for Twisted wonderland x Teyvat God! Reader
For Dendro archon!Reader
Definitely a Bow User. And Is a Healer. But the their Ult can cause damage
I have a theory That during the Archon War The dendro Archin created the Regisvines to fight for them, and only two were left. I also Headcanon The dendro archon can bring plants to life and overwrite what each plant can do. (Maybe even bring mushrooms to life 👀).
Maybe They can create a giant plant from the ground that spreads Healing energies and since this is a god where talking about can Cure Curses (Ahem Vils Curses Ahem) and major Diseases and what not.
For Their Ult maybe a giant plant monster (kinda like how Gouba and Oz exists ) that will attack for them (could make for fun combos with different elements like if the dendro archon was wet Hydro Plant monster)
For Hydro archon!reader
Polearm or sword (theirs way too many Hydro Catalyst) Healer and Dps, Why? Cause I say so.
You’ve mentioned how Hydro archon summons a giant wave? I’ll do you one better and their E skill summons a giant sea creature of your choosing to soak the fighters (A cool visual is their polearm turning into a big dream catcher then going swoosh and Baam Maybe like A giant Water Koi fish finna drown your ass *ahem ace ahem*)
Now mihoyo likes to reference Their character form honkai impact into genshin impact (and since they took a characters look from Honkai and another characters abilities with the whole Dual ego thing for Raiden shogun and Ei) I’m gonna base this Ultimate Skill From a character from Honkai (for research search up Herrsercher of Sentience)
Since the Hydro archons whole thing is about Justice. Now here me out here. WATER WHIP. Just a giant whip of water that can go on for miles (maybe it’s salty maybe it’s like fresh water depends on our readers mood lolol). Like, It’s whip of water strong enough to cut diamond or whatever it would be very cool (Kalim would wanna see if he could do something like that with his UM Que jamil trying to stop him)
Maybe their hair turns into water too.
Pyro archon! Reader
Claymore. A Big strong war god needs a big strong weapon. Dps and Defense.
Now It’s not just one claymore, It’s DUAL-CLAYMORE, why? Cause it’s a war god that’s why!
I like to think the shield is like Xinyans and XiangLings combined and it’s constantly sending off tiny Fire Discs. Or just symbols shooting fire like what the Pyro Abyss mages can do
For Ultimate I like to think it’s like Childes Daggers but Bigger and on fire just a huge sword made of fire.
The pyro archon doesn’t think just BURNS. and STABE
Cryo archon! Reader
I can’t really come up with much for Cryo archon. But maybe a Catalyst that can summon a giant blizzard that drops down giant ice swords (kinda like Ganyus)
Definitely a sub DPS.
Maybe a healer too since The Tsaritsa is The archon of love?
What do you think about these abilities? Since you mentioned that the students and staff would assume their just strong mages I tried to be very creative with these abilities.
Also how I think the lore could go is maybe somewhere after leonas overblot and before azuls, Crowly has found a way to send Yuu home reluctantly. Yuu, grim and the aduece duo, and maybe some of heartslaybul or savana claw whoever you want come with them to the office to send them home. But Yuu is contemplating whether or not they WANT to go home now. But something goes wrong, maybe grim messes up the spell for the portal to work becuase (although he doesn’t want to admit it ) doesn’t want Yuu leaving, and their greeted with a surprise guest. Now this gives Yuu time to decide if they genuinely wanna go home and when teh archon finally has the materials they need to create a portal Yuu will tell them to leave the portal open (maybe put it into a tiny pocket mirror like the how we have the teapot) because they wanna stay for a little while or just until grim graduates (Que a happy fire cat ) and the archon whose grown attached to some people here was like ok “let our friends visit whenever they want, only if their headmaster allows it”
Now onto the headcanons
Anemo Archon! Reader and Mondstadt! Yuu
Everyone expected a lot of things not a person with Green eyes and (H/C) hair with green highlights. And an odd thing about them was the glowing stone on their person, Yuu didn’t have that?
Everyone’s freaking out because they’ve accidentaly taken another person from Yuus world.
And since Venti Is a well known famous bard In teyvat let’s say or Dear (y/N) is also a known bard and is not at all freaking out about what’s going on in fact let’s say our dear reader recognizes Yuu! And so now (Y/N) is now a new student (and a new headache for Crowley) in the ramshackle dorm! Yup! Just an ordinary human bard, Ehe~.
I’ll leave the rest of this up to you, Where Yuu has to explain what the world of teyvat is like (and why Yuu doesn’t have a phone (and a vision) because Twisted wonderland is far more advance in Technology and teyvat has JUST invented the Camera)
Also I head canon that people with Visions can summon their weapons and object with their visions, ok? Ok. To make things make more sense when reader pulls out a lyre from floating glitter.
Geo archon!reader and Liyue! Yuu
Same things happend here, but hey! We’ve summoned a Funeral Consultant! A very (ahemATTRACTIVEahem) Wise funeral consultant at best!
Our dear Friend (y/n) is very calm about the situation as well. After all everyone and liyue knows their god was killed and The Adepti are watching over them
So Our dear reader is seeing this as a free vacation 😊
Electro Archon!Reader and Inazuma!yuu
Since the god of Inazuma isn’t “Dead” or hasn’t left and the people know what their beloved archon looks like, Yuu will definitely Be Freaking the fuck out
“YOU DIDNT BRING ME HOME YOU JUST SUMMONED MY PEOPLES FUCKING GOD OH SHIT”
insert the meme of the womens face that gets zoomed in on the second panel “the. WHAT.” 😃
And y’know how Eis “Hello” voice line where she makes the traveler her guard she says the same thing to Yuu except “I recognize you are one of my people as your archon I shall be your guard and keep you safe from any danger in this Foreign world” and let’s say The puppet will not be used and Reader will be in control becuase they don’t have to worry about erosion right now so the puppet will be resting while (Y/N) is in control protecting their Precious Inazuma citizen is ok.
Well until They can get the materials they need to open a portal. I’ll let you figure out the rest, but congrats ramshackle you now have a god in your abode 😃✨
-Plot Anon 💗
PLOT ANON-SAMAAAAAAAAAA ILY!!!!!!!!! Thank you for your hard work sob
Anyways, for skills of the archons-
Dendro Archon
I think they'd use a sword or a catalyst tbh, if the skills you listed, it makes a little more sense to have them be more of a catalyst
For their elemental skill, I think they'd summon/throw something similar to Klee's and Aloy's elemental skill except they heal if someone in your party is nearby, their healing could scale by their EM or ER.
For their burst, I like your head canon for the Dendro Archon, so I might go off from that and your idea for their burst, just more tweaking. The dendro archon would be able to summon a large plant that heals AND deals Dendro damage by sapping mobs hp. The amount of life sapping it does and the healing would scale off their original HP (artifacts that give hp won't be of use)
Hydro Archon
I agree with hydro polearm or sword. Too many catalysts
Mmm... To be honest, I think you should have the burst be her skill... The whip idea is intriguing, but I think it would work more for a skill which can allow them to use it several times before waiting for the CD to go down. I think the whip skill would work better with Crit as well.
AND AS FOR THE MENTIONS OF WAVE AND A SEA CREATURE, I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER BUT FOR THEIR BURST!!!! They summon a large tsunami which takes form of a monster/animal and lunges at the mobs (similar to Zhongli tossing down a dumbbell), however the amount of damage the burst can do is depending on if they are afflicted by the wet status the mobs are afflicted by. If already afflicted with hydro, the mobs would receive double damage while those with other elements afflicted on them would receive the element combination DMG and normal DMG while those that aren't affected by an element, they would receive normal damage. The amount of damage the burst does is scaled by EM.
Pyro Archon
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA CLAYMORE
Hmmm.... I think the skill would be they set an AoE with magma, mobs will receive damage from it and will continue to receive damage if they stay on it, but those who are in party, they will receive an ATK boost that scales from HP.
For the burst, I think I'll use a character from Honkai Impact with their special move which is Murata Himeko in Vermilion Knight: Eclipse battlesuit. Pyro Archon uses their claymore and another claymore but made of pyro and is far more larger and their cut scene has the Archon raise the pyro claymore above their head and slam it down to send pyro erupting from the ground (similar to the pyro axe wielding hilichurls)
Cryo Archon
I agree with catalyst
Mmmmmm.... I'd say her skill would beeeeee... Trapping several mobs or so in ice. They can either do 2-4 ice traps depending if you got their c1. (The ice traps are similar to Mirror Maidens traps BTW but it deals or affects the mobs with cryo)
For burst, I like the idea of summoning a blizzard/swords, but it's similar to Ganyu's. SO I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER!!!! Cryo Archon will summon a blizzard which freezes mobs without having to use hydro, the freeze status lasts for a total of 15 seconds or higher if you got their c3
Hmmm... I like the idea, but imma tweak it a bit. The archon was in fact summoned through that portal because Grim decided to mess it up just for Yuu to stay a little longer, and so the Archon now resides in Twisted Wonderland as well in order to aide them until they can return back to their world. That way it makes more sense and makes it more fun.
Anemo archon
Yuu would be a bit jealous about them because they got a vision.
Crowley needs to hide his money
Sam has been strictly told to not give them wine that Sam stores in his shop...
Vargus is conflicted about them because they legit float without magic
Trein recurved a major headache
Divus is praying to whatever god existing to take them back
Ehe
EHE TE NANDAYO!?
Geo Archon
Yuu feels awkward meeting the consultant of the funeral parlor having to meet the Director...
Crowley is praying for dear god for them to go away.
"STOP TAKING MY MONEY YOU GORGEOUS FIEND" - Crowley
Train + Crewel + You = Besties
Sam was literally threatened to not joke around with you with business.
You legit did not fuck around with people when in contracts.
"Osmanthus wi-"
"SHUT THE HELL UP" - everyone
Electro Archon
Yuu is literally terrified in "your" presence.
Shogun malfunctioned due to being in an entirely new world so you had to disable Shogun's rules and create new ones regarding this world.
Yuu is still unaware of Shogun being a puppet
Crowley is no longer safe.
The staff (specifically Crewel) is supporting Shogun/You to beat Crowley's ass into shape.
Only the Diasomnia dorm knows your predicament with you and your puppet(s).
You are the definition of Queen/King/Royalty of the school. If you search up NRC, your picture literally plastered on it as the definition.

Valentine’s Day
This was written for the Flower Challenge currently going on in the Ikemen Series Amino! This is my first fic using my OC, Yina, in her fully fleshed form. I’ve used her name in past works but now I’ve really got her down and I’m excited to use her and develop her more.
I also need to work on my IkeVamp OC hhhhhh
Anywaysss hope you guys enjoy!
Valentine’s Day
Ikemen Sengoku - Sasuke x OC(Yina)
It had been close to a month since Sasuke and Yina had returned through the wormhole into the present. It was a hard decision for both, but they knew that it was the right choice. Although they felt like they did the right thing, there were moments when they would question themselves.
Should we have stayed?
The first few days were hard - Yina and Sasuke had initially decided to go back to their own apartments and try to resume their lives, all while trying to work out the new relationship that had just started between them. When they had landed back at the present-day Honno-Ji memorial, Yina had begun crying instantly.
"Don’t leave me, Sasuke," Yina said, clinging on to the ninja.
Sasuke wrapped his arms around Yina, stroking her hair. "We won’t be apart for too long. I will come by tomorrow," Sasuke said. His stoic face didn’t give much away, but Yina could see the hint of concern in his eyes.
Yina nodded as Sasuke swiped his thumbs across her cheeks, wiping the last of her tears away. He had walked her home that night, and stayed until she was able to fall asleep.
After a week of trying to live on their own, they had decided to move in together into Sasuke’s apartment. It was larger out of the two and was closer to Honno-Ji than Yina’s apartment. Moving in together was like 2 pieces of a puzzle fitting perfectly with each other. That first night they spent together was the first time they both were able to get a decent amount of sleep since returning to present-day Japan.
They had been living in perfect harmony for the last few weeks, and their first "holiday" as a couple was fast approaching:
Valentine’s Day.
Yina had decided to make her special homemade fudge and wanted to try and make some chocolate shaped like his beloved ground spikes. She had stopped by the local market to grab what she needed, when she saw a beautiful bouquet of pink Peruvian Lillies. She delicately took the case and placed it in her cart and brought it home to put as their table centerpiece.
Luckily, Sasuke was working late that night in the lab, so Yina got some needed time in the kitchen, perfecting her edible ground spikes. Once the chocolates were solidified into their general shape, she brought the tray over to the table, turning on the TV as she began to shave off bits and pieces of chocolate, putting in detail after detail, just as if she was working on a kimono commission.
Working on the chocolates was both therapeutic and bittersweet. It helped connect her to her friends back in the Sengoku period, but it also made her miss them dearly. She missed the simplicity of living in that era, and the many people that lived both in Azuchi and Kasugayama. She missed the beauty of Japan’s landscape during that time. There was so much color and life, it never failed to take her breath away. The clear nights were always a treat, especially when her and Sasuke were able to sneak away to the rooftops and stargaze for hours.
She missed all of her friends, especially Yukimura. Sasuke would always call them the "three musketeers" or, when they would be at a banquet, he had drunkenly called them the "three caballeros".
"Cab of what?" Yukimura would always say, constantly in a state of confusion when Sasuke would spew out terms from the future.
When Yina had quiet times like this, she would always feel a bit melancholy, but there was one constant throughout her time in the Sengoku that she was immensely grateful for:
Sasuke Sarutobi.
He was her first friend in the Sengoku period, and was able to help her acclimate quickly. He was always able to make her smile and laugh when she was having a bad day, and, in turn, her happiness brought light into his life.
He was always her pillar of strength and support when she needed it the most. He always seemed to sense when he needed to be there in Azuchi, before they had relocated to Kasugayama. When they had left Azuchi and made their home in Kasugayama, Sasuke did his best to make sure she was taken care of.
She smiled to herself as she finished the last chocolate ground spike, covering them and placing them back into the fridge so they wouldn’t melt. There were still a few hours until Sasuke would be home, so she flopped herself onto the couch and started to binge watch some shows. She only made it three episodes in before falling asleep in her blanket burrito.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Sasuke left the lab with a skip in his step, successfully finishing all of his pending tasks on his latest project. He felt bad that he had to be out longer than usual, but, in one months time, it would be all worth it. A rare fraction of a smile dawned on his face as he thought of Yina’s reaction when he brought home the good news.
He could see it in her eyes ever since they came back to the present day. Although they were both relieved to be back with the modern day efficiencies and luxuries of technology, nothing compared to the friendships and bonds they forged with the warlords. He tried his best to comfort her, but even he had moments of sadness when he thought about his BFF. Living together has made it easier on them both, but they missed their time living in the past.
He spent the last several days in his lab pouring over formulas and theories, digging up everything he could find on wormholes and their patterns. There were several whiteboards in his space filled with never ending equations, his notes scribbled everywhere around it. Some of his time was spent in the library, reading old periodicals, but when he was not there, he was in his lab speed reading what he can online while working out his own theory.
"For her," he would remind himself. "For Yina."
When he got to his front door, he stopped to take a calming breath. His stoic face would never give it away, but he was vibrating with excitement.
"Yina?" he said, opening the door. "I’m home. "
He walked in, seeing fresh flowers on the dining table, the TV still on, and a pile of blankets on the couch. Sasuke walked over to the blankets, peeling it back to find-
"Eh?" Sasuke raised an eyebrow, expecting to see Yina under the blankets, but she was not there. "Yina?" he called out again.
"Sasuke! You’re home!" Yina said, opening the door from their bathroom. She had taken a shower and was just finishing when Sasuke came home.
Sasuke froze, taken aback by what he saw. Her hair was wrapped up in a towel, and all she wore was one of his green v-neck shirts. The hem came down to the middle of her thighs, perfect for her to use as a house shirt/dress. His jaw went slack as his hand came up as if to lift his mask-
Only he wasn’t wearing his mask.
Yina walked up to him, a huge smile on her face. Her arms snake around his neck, coming up on her toes to kiss him on the lips. "Welcome home," she said, kissing him again.
The feeling of her lips on his brought him back to reality, wrapping his arms around her. He hugged her tightly, inhaling her freshly showered scent. "You smell nice," Sasuke whispered into her ear.
Yina giggled, looking up at him. "I made something for you."
She untangled herself from his arms and led him out into the kitchen. She gave him another kiss before telling him to take a seat at the table. Sasuke looked over at the bouquet of flowers.
"Do you know what those are?" Yina asked, heading towards the fridge.
"They look like Alstroemerias," he replied, stroking one of the pink petals.
"Astro what?" Yina asked.
Sasuke smirked. "Alstroemeria. Also known as Peruvian Lily or Lily of the Incas. It was named after the Swedish botanist Claus von Alströmer."
Yina chuckled as she made her way back with a covered tray. "You’re like a never ending encyclopedia. Well, it’s a part of your gift so-" she set the tray down next to the flowers and took the cover off the chocolate. "Happy Valentine’s Day, Sasuke."
Yina watched Sasuke carefully as he examined the tray.
She used the fudge that was made as ground, then set the chocolate ground spikes in a way that it looked like someone had actually thrown them. Some were resting on top of the fudge, while others were pressed into it. Each one was unique, all of them turned and spun to add to the illusion that they were thrown. Sasuke turned the tray left and right, looking at it from all angles.
"You made all of these?" he asked, picking one up.
Yina nodded, sitting next to him. "Yup, thought they would be perfect for my moderately awesome ninja boyfriend."
Sasuke popped one in his mouth, the chocolate instantly melting the moment it hit his tongue. He turned to Yina, pulling her onto his lap as he kissed her. He held her like that for a while, gently tugging at the towel on her head until it unraveled and fell to the floor.
He brought their foreheads together as he ran his fingers through her wet locks. "Thank you, they are delicious," he said, kissing her on the nose. "I actually forgot today was Valentines Day."
"Well, you’ve been very busy, so I’m not surprised. But this is my day to shower you with love! You’ll have your day next month," Yina said, kissing him on the cheek.
Sasuke grinned, knowing this could possibly be the best White Day gift he could give to her.
