Rating ninjas based on how tolerant they would be towards serpentine
Kai: 5/10. I blame a lot of Kai’s meanness on his ignorance, to be honest. Though you could probably argue this with all the ninja. Given his comment of thinking the serpentine were just a myth, it doesn’t surprise me that much he’d be scared and hostile towards them, especially when they’re making themselves to be a problem.
Cole: 3/10. Honestly, rewatching s1 it kinda surprised by how much of a disrespectful jerk Cole was towards the serpentine, especially given how often people tend to view him as the heart of the team nowadays. He makes constant mean comments about them, is the one to refer to them as monsters in that first episode of s1, insults their story telling methods (the cave paintings of the Constrictai), and for some reason just struck me as even more hostile than the others.
Zane: 6/10. I do remember Zane making a few distasteful jokes while fighting them, but not that much. And really, especially in the early seasons, a bit of taunting’s to be expected in action shows. It’s also possible Zane was simply following everyone’s lead, blindly trusting everything Wu and the others told him about their enemies. He doesn’t strike me as the kind of person who would judge someone based on their species, but rather their merits.
Jay: 4/10. Slightly better than Cole, but still pretty mean at times. Though given he and his parents both almost turned into snakes, he at least has more of a reason to be a little apprehensive towards them.
Nya: 7/10 I don’t really remember Nya making any insensitive jokes or display any kind of malice outside of the fact that the snakes were their enemies. She also seemed fairly educated about them, but on the other hand, I do have questions about where on earth she found that fangpyre skeleton. Did Nya graverob the bitch??? Though she does get points for being down to kiss Jay while he looks like a snake, that is very promising.
Lloyd: 9/10. I have to give Lloyd points because it was his idea to open the snakes’ tombs to begin with. Lloyd also strikes me as the kind of person who would be drawn to animals most people usually associate as being scary, and by proxy would think the serpentine were pretty cool. And even despite the betrayals, Lloyd never really seems particularly mean towards the serpentine. A real trooper. Lloyd is also a bleeding heart and an empath, and I think he would have a lot of sympathy towards them.
Wu: -10,000/10. This bastard got betrayed by a snake ONCE, over 1,000 years ago, and still holds a grudge. He also played a direct part in sealing them away. “Never trust a snake” more like shut the fuck up.
Garmadon: 0/10. Showed dislike towards the snakes in the comics, and clearly has little respect for them. Like Wu, he also played a part in getting the snakes trapped underground. Problematic fav if I say so myself.
#ninjago#my official tier list take it or leave it#I have a personal idea that the village Cole grew up in has a history with serpentine#which is part of the reason cole seems to hold so little respect for them#After all they were in possession of the Fang Cup#which was using a serpentine artifact as a trophy#really makes you think
