#I have a love hate relationship on how this turned out

I love how people think this was the only problem. Arcane's pillars are the writing, the world building and the animation. In this season, only the animation matched s1's level because everything else couldn't keep up with the quality they set before.
And before anyone comes at me, you can enjoy the show, I'm not telling you to hate it. I actually envy those who managed to enjoy it because I could only notice the fatal flaws, the cartoonish representation of the main characters and the lack of continuity in the plot development.
The writing is ridiculous. I'm not saying it because I want to hate on the show, but because I loved it with all my heart and it disappointed in a way I couldn't even fathom. We lost the most important part of it: the slow, meaningful moments between characters, the ones that helped us see how they felt and what they thought, how their relationships changed and views shifted.
Take Isha and Jinx. We have the before, and we have the after, but where's everything in between? Jinx pushed Isha away at first, then the next scene they're best friends, and I simply can't accept this in a show that is ALL about building connections.
They added random characters that turned out to be completely useless. Was I supposed to feel bad when bad things happened to them? I was like "oh, alright."
But most importantly, they stripped away the conflict between Zaun and Piltover. They inserted a common enemy so that they'd put aside their differences to defeat it (that's also literally the only reason why the Black Rose "makes sense". It's literally used for the bossfight and to set Mel up for the next series, nothing else).
After the fight they're all good. Forgive and forget, right? That's how you make peace with your oppressor, without even having a single fucking conversation, a damn confrontation or something. The power of friendship, the power of "we're all the same, we just want to live and we must stick together to defeat the baddest guys! It doesn't matter that you treated us like shit on your soles for years!!! Now we're all friends and we have a seat in the council!!"
This season is a goddamn joke.
People can rant about the pacing of season 2 all they want, but the fact that they managed to fit a climax this epic and cathartic and painful this seamlessly in a single episode is nothing short of genius.
Like... y'all they really had it all
#i also liked it more when it had less fights#because they were more significant and entertaining than whatever the fuck's been happening in this season#you really want to compare Vi fighting Silco's men in s1 act1 ep3 with any of those fights?

I feel like we need to have a TikTok trend blurbs I just love the ones you did already.
Like when the reader and Luke is going to bed and he says âgoodnight I love you and she says thank youâthat one can be good
i love these sm HAHAHHAHAA
the apartment is quiet, the kind of stillness that settles over everything once the day is officially over. youâre in bed, tucked under the covers with the bedside lamp casting a warm glow across the room. lukeâs in the bathroom brushing his teethâyou can hear the faint sound of the faucet running and the occasional shuffle of his feet against the tiles.
youâre scrolling through your phone, aimlessly thumbing through videos, when you hear him pad into the room. heâs shirtless, wearing the same old pair of gray sweatpants you always threaten to steal, and his hairâs still slightly damp from his shower. itâs a sight youâve seen a hundred times, but it still makes your chest do that stupid little flip.
âyou on tiktok again?â he teases, climbing into bed and nudging your shoulder with his.
âmaybe,â you reply, locking your phone and setting it on the nightstand. âwhatâs it to you?â
he smirks, leaning back against the pillows and pulling you closer so your head rests against his chest. âjust wondering what youâre plotting this time. youâve been suspiciously quiet lately.â
you roll your eyes, poking his side until he squirms. ânot everythingâs a scheme, hughes.â
âuh-huh,â he says, voice laced with skepticism but too sleepy to argue further. instead, he wraps an arm around you, his palm warm against your shoulder.
thereâs a long stretch of silence, the kind thatâs comfortable and familiar. his breathing starts to even out, his hand absently tracing patterns on your arm, and you think heâs on the brink of sleep when he speaks up. your phone is already recording, showing half of your face and the curls behind you.
âgoodnight,â he murmurs softly, voice low and drowsy. âi love you.â
you pause for just a secondâjust enough to be noticeableâbefore answering in the most nonchalant tone you can muster:
âthank you.â
the room goes still.
his hand stops moving, and you feel his chest rise as he takes a slow, deliberate breath.
â...what?â he asks, his voice sharper now, tinged with confusion.
you shift slightly, pretending to adjust the blankets. âi said thank you.â
he pulls back, just enough to tilt his head and look down at you. âthatâs not what youâre supposed to say.â
you blink up at him, feigning innocence. âwhat do you mean? itâs polite to say thank you when someone says something nice.â
his brows furrow, and you can practically see the gears turning in his head. âbutâbut thatâs not how this works,â he argues, his tone half exasperated, half bewildered. âi say âi love you,â and youâre supposed to say it back!â
âhuh,â you say, tapping your chin like youâre deep in thought. âweird. i donât think thatâs a rule.â
âit is a rule,â he insists, sitting up now, the sleepiness completely gone from his face. âitâs literally, like, the rule.â
you bite back a grin, watching as he spirals into full-on disbelief. âare you saying you donât love me?â he asks, his voice cracking slightly at the end.
âno, i didnât say that,â you reply, stretching the words out.
âthen why didnât you say it back?!â
you shrug, trying to keep a straight face. âfelt like switching things up.â
âswitching things up?â he repeats, his voice going higher, and you have to physically turn your head to avoid laughing in his face.
âyeah, keeps the relationship interesting,â you explain, patting his hand like itâs the most obvious thing in the world.
âoh, my god,â he groans, flopping back against the pillows dramatically. âyouâre actually evil. youâre trying to kill me. this is emotional warfare.â
you finally let out the laugh youâve been holding in, and he turns his head to glare at you, though the corners of his mouth twitch like heâs fighting a smile.
âi hate you,â he mutters, but thereâs no real bite to it.
you lean over, pressing a kiss to his cheek. âlove you too, babe.â
he groans again, but this time he pulls you back into his arms, his chin resting on the top of your head. âyouâre lucky youâre cute,â he mumbles.
you grin, snuggling closer. âthanks, love you too.â
âstop saying thank you!â

*french writer, i apologize in advance for my awful english!
AGE: 27 years old
âWhere are you going?â Baekhyun asks, stretching as you get out of bed and grab all of your clothes. It was late but you hate sleeping in another bed than yours.
âI should go home.â You simply say, pulling on your panties and jeans as the younger man whines, flipping on his back.
âOh, come on, Y/N, stay the night.â He suggests as you shake your head with an apologetic smile while putting your bra on.
âHyesun is getting married, tomorrow. I need to get up early,â You explain, but it was an excuse. You donât want to be more than intimate enough with anyone.
Once fully clothed, you grab your keys and turn to look at the man still laying completely naked in bed. âIâll see you on Monday.â
âAight, boss,â He teases making you roll your eyes. âOne last kiss?â
âBye,â You smile closing the door of his room, hearing him laugh before making your way out of his apartment.
Once in your car, you sigh, leaning on your seat as you stare at the ceiling. Eleven pm already, and tomorrowâs list kept growing in your mind.
Your way home was silent, you didnât even put music on, mentally listing all the tasks to do tomorrow morning. Drive Hyesun to the hairstylist, make sure that the flowers are delivered, get her dress, and a lot more.
The house should already be decorated by now. Hyesun was getting married at her in-lawâs house. They have a big yard and suggested to make the reception in there. Since you couldnât be here to help today, you ended up with the stressful tasks tomorrow. Her friends arenât yours.
Yes, you still have a small circle of friends in common, but Hyesun was a sunshine and most of all: an extrovert. She met her husband by boldly asking his number at a coffee shop where he was working, five years ago. Something you could never. Thatâs probably why youâre still single and sheâs getting married.
Kicking your shoes off at your front door, youâre greeted by your cat. He was a little terror. Or a demon like Namjoon loves to call him. And you canât blame your friend. Not only was Trash a black cat with only one ear, the other got cut off. You donât know how.
He was already like that when you adopted him. He was skinny and really ugly when you first got him. Well... heâs still ugly, but now heâs well-fed, maybe too much, you chuckle as you kneel to scratch the top of his head. But he was also a tiny demon who attacked everyone who dared to visit you.
âDid you miss me?â You coo as the black cat let out a meow husky enough to let you think that he smokes too many cigarettes. Heâs not a loud cat, he occasionally meows when heâs hungry or when you come home after a long day.
As you make your way to the kitchen, the fat cat follows you. Opening the fridge, you take out a bottle of water and gives him a treat. Your eyes fall on the dress youâll wear tomorrow, hanged at the bedroom door.
The wedding theme was midnight sky. So, obviously, your dress is navy blue and long enough to end at your ankles with a slit on the right side. You didnât choose it, Hyesun did.
Palming your face, you take a sip of your water and walk to your bedroom. You need a shower. You could still smell Baekhyunâs cheap cologne on your skin. And you hate it. Too used to your own scent. Not of any men anymore.
The wedding was beautiful, but you didnât expect less from your best friend. And she was gorgeous in her wedding dress. She smiles a lot, but you never see her smile that way. And all you could think was that her jaw muscles probably hurt after four hours.
âNo, what I want, is a whole butterfly starting from my shoulders to my ribs,â Your friend, Hwan explains to you as she flips to show her bare back. You canât help but scoff, taking a sip of your wine.
âWhy? You want to become a fairy or something?â You ask arching a brow as she turns to face you, frowning.
âDonât make fun of me,â Hwan pouts, folding her arms under her chest, âI saw it on Pinterest, I totally fell in love with it.â
âA tattoo is for life, you know?â You sigh, finishing your glass before tilting your head to brush your fingers on her back, right where her ribs are. âAnd this part is sensitive. Itâll hurt like hell.â
Hwan shivers at your touch, and you chuckle. You know her. She wants a tattoo today, a piercing tomorrow and in two weeks sheâll regret both. The red head -a dye she did without a second thought- rolls her eyes.
âAnd you think I canât handle the pain?â She asks with an attitude, a tone that makes you pinch her forearm as she squirms and step back. âAre you crazy?â
âYou canât handle the pain, Hwan.â You conclude while she rubs the part that start to turn red.
âYouâre the worst tattoo artist I know. Iâll give you a bad review on Google.â She groans as you smirk and stick your tongueâs out at her, making her smile amused by you.
Your eyes scan the room full of guests you donât know before a huge smile spread on your lips as you notice the man all alone. He was sipping his glass of whisky as he looks at his phone, feigning to be interested but heâs probably scrolling emptily. You know him. He hates when people try to connect with him.
Excusing yourself from Hwan and the other girls, you make your way to your friend, too busy on his phone to see you coming.
âYoongs,â You call him once youâre a few steps closer to him, he lifts his cat eyes from his screen before offering you a slight smirk and opening his arms as you nestle against his chest. Youâre not really touchy, but with Yoongi, it was different.
âNice dress.â He simply says, his nose in your hair before you pull back to look at him. He looks nice too. His hair is longer, but it suits him.
âYou didnât cut your hair?â You ask as he sighs, rolling a strand between his finger as you keep an arm around his waist.
âDidnât have the time for it.â, He mumbles taking another sip of his whisky. âI didnât know you would be here. Since you own a tattoo shop, we donât see you often anymore.â
âItâs my best friendâs wedding, I couldnât miss it. She would have dragged my ass back here.â you chuckle making him smile and nod.
âThat sounds like Hyesun,â He jokes as you smile.
Yoongi wasnât that tall, but he was still everyoneâs type. Calm, mysterious, and good looking. If only dating was on his plans. That guy will probably stay single his whole life, too focused on his work.
âI was looking for you everywhere!â Hyesun groans grabbing your arm.
âI was here,â You simply reply, raising your shoulders, making Yoongi looks at you both amused. You probably get along because youâre both sarcastic. At least you know thatâs something he likes about you.
âThanks Sherlock, Mystery solved!â She rolls her eyes, before pulling you away from your friend, âCome on, follow me, I want to take pictures with you.â
She quickly waves at Yoongi, blowing a kiss at him as he didnât move before pushing you away.
âHeâs like a good old wine. Every time I see him, heâs getting hotter.â She smirks as you make your way to the photographer.
âArenât you married?â You joke making her roll her eyes.
âMarried, not blind. As long as I touch with my eyes,â She adds as you shake your head, laughing, joining the girls.
Yoongi leaves his empty glass on the table next to him, an amused smirk on his face. If you stayed longer, he would have been part of an interesting reunion.
âShit, I almost peed myself. There is a whole queue at the male bathroom,â The younger man groans, coming back next to Yoongi as he takes back his beer. âHyung?â
The older man turns to his friend and arches a brow to show that heâs listening.
âHyesun told me that there was a private bathroom upstairs for the closest friendsâ Yoongi simply mumbles, making Jungkook groans as he ties his hair into a bun.
âAnd you tell me only now?â the tattooed man sighs as he pulls up his sleeves, the temperature of the room getting hotter. Or maybe itâs him from running here and there.
âYou left without a word,â Yoongi shrugs like it was obvious, his eyes still on the group of girls making funny faces at the camera. Jungkook lets out a chuckle.
âWhich one?â He asks his friend who simply arches a brow. âIâm sure itâs the red head. You always had a think for girls with weird hair colors.â
Yoongi didnât say anything. Heâs used to the teasing. Itâs a loss of energy, Jungkook was competitive and if you say that the sky was blue, he would tell otherwise until you tell him he's right.
Jungkook smiles proudly, turning his attention to the bunch of girls. Hyesun had pretty friends, but heâs not surprised. Until he recognized a face. A face he knows too well, a face he loved deeply once upon a time.
You didnât change. Well⌠Your hair is shorter. You never liked your hair short, not after your mother spent your childhood cutting it into a bob.
The bangs too. You hated them. But today, you wore it gracefully. His doe eyes trail the length of it, how it brushes your shoulders when you laugh, how you have to push your bang asides.
He never hated you. Even after you broke his heart. Even after coming home to an empty apartment because you disappeared, or when you blocked his number and changed yours. He never hated you.
âYou said she wasnât here.â He frowns, turning to Yoongi who simply arches a brow.
âShe wasnât supposed to.â Yoongi replies, taking a sip of his new glass.
âI shouldnât have come.â Jungkook sighs, his brows still in a frown creating a slight wrinkle between them.
âKookie,â Yoongi turns his gaze to his friend whoâs clearly uncomfortable. âYouâre back in town. You both have the same friends group. What did you expect? Youâll have to confront her one day or another.â
âY/N,â Hwan calls you as you were taking another glass of wine, facing her with a small hm? âThe guy you talked earlier,â
âYoongi?â
âYeah, something like that. Do you know his friend?â She asks as you follow her gaze to the large man next to Yoongi, his back facing you. You liked the tattoos, and the muscular frame. The long hair was clearly a bonus.
âNo,â You reply, your eyes trailing on Yoongiâs friend. Youâll definitely ask Yoongi who that is later.
âHeâs hot,â Hwan comments as you nod, taking a sip of your wine before spitting everything out. You cough when the mysterious man turns around, laughing with your friend.
And almost immediately, you hide behind the table that separates you. Was this a joke?
âWhatâs wrong? One of your one-night stands?â Hwan chuckles clearly amused to see you, on your knees, trying to hide under the table. If only you could be sucked up by the floor. It was stupid. It was an old story. Itâs been seven years since you dumped him like an old, forgotten sock.
âItâs my ex,â You almost whisper, making Hwan wide her eyes and hide with you like she even met him before.
You never thought that youâll see him again. He disappeared for Japan right after your breakup for his studies. And you didnât think about him since then. Well, itâs a lie.
You thought about him the three first years after your split. But, he was just some old memories from the shoebox under your bed.Â
Some love letters written by a teenage boy, an empty bottle of perfume and a shirt of his that you didnât have the heart to throw. But thatâs all he was. A shoebox of memories.
âOh damn,â Hwan murmurs, âHow did you get that hot piece of man?â She asks as you roll your eyes.
He wasnât that hot when you started dating him. He had a chestnut haircut, was too skinny even if he was the sporty type, and huge doe eyes. Now heâsâŚ. a man.
âI think⌠I need to get outâ, You swallow, get up and finish your glass. Walking to the backyard, you catch a bottle on your way.
Thankfully, Hwan didnât follow you. A few persons were outside, some of them making out, the others too drunk, and probably getting some fresh air like you.
Did Hyesun invite him? Why did he come? He knows that sheâs your friend. That youâd be here. Palming your face, you lean back against the wall, taking a sip of your bottle of champagne. Fuck⌠This is childish. Youâre twenty-seven, for Godâs sake. Act like an adult.
âHiding?â You heard on your right, making you almost jump.
And here he was, a few meters away, a bottle of beer in hand. His eyes changed. He grew up.
âGood evening, Jungkook,â You breathe as he offers you a slight smile, his lips mostly forming a line.
âGood evening, Y/N,â He replies, making a few steps closer, âLong time no see.â
âYeah...â
A silence falls between you before he takes a breath like he wants to calm his nerves too. Were you two nervous around each other?
âHow⌠have you been?â He asks with a soft voice.
âGood. You?â
âGood.â
âNice.â
You wanted to punch yourself. That conversation was stupid. Back then, you two could debate about everything for hours. Now, you canât even have a basic conversation.
âI⌠Didnât know you were back.â You say, looking at the grass at your feet.
âYeah⌠I- I missed Korea.â He raises his shoulders slightly before taking a sip of his beer.
âOhâŚOkay.â You scrunch your nose and take a sip of your bottle to not look too much stupid but his lips crease in an amused smile at the bottle in your hand. Neither of you says anything. And itâs weird. âThatâs⌠some cool tattoos,â You add, trying to make the conversation as you point his entire inked sleeve with your chin.
âYeah?â He chuckles awkwardly. âI always wanted tattoos.â
âI know.â You reply, almost immediately, making him lift his gaze to you as your eyes widen. âYou- hm- You thought that Yakuza were cool.â you continue as he nods, his eyes still on you while you look away.
âYou remembered.â
You clench your jaw slightly and take another sip of champagne. You hate champagne, but you didnât read what was written on the bottle when you took it.
âYour father must be proud of you. I heard you had your own tattoo shop.â He says as your gaze soften. Jungkook and your dad were always close, he even called him âsonâ. Your father was in fact, proud of you.
âHe isâ, was all you could reply, and he nods silently before taking a deep breath.
âCan I⌠ask you a question? I need to understand somethingâ He frowns a little, turning his head to look at the backyard before finally glancing back at you. He is waiting for you to answer and you simply stare at him. âWhy did you leave me, Y/N?â

There are better stories that'll give you a similar experience to Harry Potter and won't line the pockets of someone who is doing everything in her power to make the lives of vulnerable people miserable.
For example, I recommended both Persona 5 and Ikenfell a lot around the time Hogwarts Legacy came out.
Persona 5 for capturing the feel of the interplay of daily school life and relationships alongside a big, overarching fantasy mystery with a very different flavor, but a similar appeal to what the Harry Potter stories did. It's an excellent game with themes are similar, but much better executed and more resonant than Harry Potter was. It's not perfect and there is values dissonance, but the story has some incredible twists and turns and the characters are fantastically written.
Ikenfell is much closer to the tone of Harry Potter itself and explicitly about a school that teaches magic. It has a score by the same duo that scored Steven Universe, and within the first few minutes of the game your player character gets hit on by another woman and makes a nonbinary friend. Ikenfell feels like it was made by people who used to love Harry Potter, get fed up with Rowling's bullshit, and made a game that was similar, but downright confrontational in how upfront it is with its queer themes and characters.
You could also watch Mary and the Witch's Flower, a film by Studio Ponoc. It was founded by ex-Ghibli animators and you can very easily tell in this film. The art style, designs, and other stuff feels very Ghibli, and as such, this film feels like what would happen if 90s or 2000s Ghibli made a magic school film. It's breathtaking to look at and a delightful time.
Any of these would be a good pick to watch or play rather than Harry Potter.
Sometimes it is important to let go of the things you love, even things that are important to you. I'm practiced at it at this point. Two of the artists who are incredibly influential to the kind of writer I am - Neil Gaiman and Joss Whedon - both turned out to be people who have done things I cannot abide. Firefly was a huge part of my life for a long time, and I remember finishing The Ocean at the End of the Lane in less than 24 hours because it gripped me so hard. Without these artists I wouldn't be who I am today. In fact, their work is part of what taught me not to tolerate the kinds of things both of these men have done.
If you still like Harry Potter, think about what the text tells you. Do not stand for prejudice and injustice. Do not allow those corrupted by hate to hold power. Stand up to cruelty. Stand against petty bullies.
The values that these stories preach are clear - they say to tell people like JK Rowling to piss off, and to stop ignoring her heinous beliefs.
Welp, if JK Rowling being executive producer and therefore being fully involved in the show wasn't enough for people to boycott, then here's HBO basically saying they don't care JK Rowling is a bigot from hell who literally helped lead a harassment campaign of lies against Imane Khalif in her transphobia and obsession with women being terf's standards of women alongside posting harassment against trans people on twitter at times, they gonna stand by her, while using the excuse, "personal views". Hmm, yes, personal views- that's one way to uh, call what the fuck JK Rowling comes out with a-lot- last I checked personal views do come with consquiences if said out loud....a thousand times in JK's case and still counting....especially if they hurt people, but hey, if it means making another Harry Potter project to milk, just let it fucking be I guess.

I do not actually know how to handle how brilliant Arcane is. I had thought so much about how hard it would be to write a sex scene for Vi and Caitlyn that would fit with the excellence of the rest of the show. And the main question on my mind was like, where do you make it happen? The when was obvious to me, like right before the final battle, when everything is so heightened. But where was not. You cannot just use Caitlyn's mansion, because it means the wrong thing. This isn't a rags-to-riches for Vi where a girl who is essentially Piltover royalty falls in love with her. No. We aren't doing that. This is a ship where the extreme class difference doesn't mean anything except constant pressure to be enemies - means being caught in a cycle of violence and retribution. In this world, theirs is what a deviant and by default doomed love looks like. The class divide between topside and the undercity is the primary, structural inequality. And for them to essentially use repetition and parallel to stage that scene where Vi focuses on her one core loyalty and breaks the law to save her sister, then Jinx hits Vi in the wound and leaves her locked in the cell alone, and Vi has essentially an emotional crash over the cycle of failure and tragedy she's locked in... only to find that Caitlyn came down to get Vi and let her out of prison again. The way that communicated a crazy level of true love: I have so much recognition that I know what you're going to do when things get real and choices dire. And I love you, not in spite of this, but for this. And I am on your side no matter what is happening around us. Louder than loss or hate or revenge or duty or society. And then they just have sex right there and turn that prison cell into something completely else, unlocked and unprecedented. Nothing could be more of a clear poetic expression that their love wins in this against countless odds. Like if we weren't getting what their relationship was, if we were doubting it, if we were still thinking this story would be a tragedy piled on top of endless lesbian love stories used as the vehicle for tragedy, they just fucking said what their story was so hard it hit like a shift to another world. Punctuated by the final note of the last scene. And I genuinely fucking love them for this.

Could you write âHow would Viktor does when reader has depressionâ.
Of course! Thanks for the ask pookie :)
These r a little short because I am still ill (and my head is literally killing me as I type this) but Viktor is more important than getting well!! (Also bawling my eyes out after act 3, even though I'd still love Viktor nonetheless, machine or not, he's getting it)
WARNINGS/ CONTENT INFO: Mentions of Depression (obviously), GN!Reader, sweet Fluff, Viktor has no clue what he's doing in all honesty, he tries (and succeeds) to be sweet
2 Stories - One more casual/not yet dating and the other is established relationship
You've been off lately, Viktor had noticed. Isolating yourself bit by bit, looking more tired and overall acting just weird. You've had your phases before, but this one was too long. It wasn't like you at all. You've barely even spoken to him or Jayce, when usually you'd yap both their ears off about whatever topic you had learned about the previous night. Now, the lab was silent. Jayce was away on some Council party, and god knows Viktor would never start a conversation on his own while working. Though, he couldn't focus tonight. He mindlessly tinkered with small parts that laid around his desk, his thoughts clouded with the question of what was bothering you. Whatever it was, it bothered him as well. He'd never say, but he missed the cheery and chipper way you'd usually be.
"Are you... alright?" He questions after a while, clearing his throat slightly. This was already too awkward for him, but he did care. Totally just because the atmosphere of the lab would suffer if you weren't your usual self. He noticed the way you shifted uncomfortably as he glanced over to where you were sitting, like you were pondering how to answer. He wondered why you'd need so long to think of an answer, as if you couldn't tell him the truth. "I'm fine. Just a little tired, I just haven't been sleeping well." You answer, a soft, akward chuckle slipping from your lips. Viktor doesn't like that answer. You're different from how you are when you're just tired - not that he actually paid attention to that, but you weren't on your fifth cup of coffee yet. Actually, you hadn't had coffee at all today, another unusual happening. He sighs softly, and you immediatly know that he's gotten into questioning mode - he was a scientist after all. He really couldn't help it. "You can talk to me, you know? We don't have to be lab partners and nothing else, we can be friends." He speaks, his voice softer than before. "What's bothering you, hm?" Viktor adds, turning his chair around to look at you properly. It's your turn to sigh, letting your head hang slightly. "I've just been... feeling off. Like, actually tired but in a mental way? I don't know how to explain." You mutter, awkwardly averting your gaze from him. "We should take a day off, then. Do whatever you want instead of working." Viktor answers casually. "I don't want to miss important stuff in the lab Viktor, I can't take a day off." You throw back at him. He huffs, a slight chuckle filling the room. "Not you. Us. Maybe all three, if Jayce is willing." He clarifies, already noting it down in his notebook to make sure that day off actually happens.
Viktor noticed the moment he woke up next to you. You'd fallen into another slump. He could tell just by the way you didn't just not want to get up - it was a physical challenge for you. He's seen you like this before, though usually it didn't last too long, at least not that he's noticed, maybe only a day or two at most. But by now, it's been almost a week, and you haven't spoken to him about it. You've been more abrasive, have started caring less about your personal hygiene, and while Viktor doesn't mind, he always hated when you didn't take proper care of yourself. He wanted you to feel good, not fall into a depressive hole. He offered to take a shower or bath with you, to make a game out of brushing your teeth, but you had shut everything down. It wasn't because you didn't think the ideas were sweet, but more because you didn't think you even deserved that much effort. Viktor had to helplessly watch you get worse, and he couldn't even do anything to properly help. It was absolute hell to him.
He'd had enough, wanted to be mad at you, even, but he couldn't blame you for it. He could, however, force you to stay cuddled up in bed with him. You liked staying in bed anyway, and cuddling with him was always one of your favourites. So, here you two were, snuggled into the covers of Viktors way too confortable bed. "You know that I love you, right?" Viktor mumbled, his accent more heavy with sleep. He didn't say it enough, at least that's what he thought. "I do know..." you answered, just as sleepily. "I know you can't control this.. but let me help you, please? I know it's hard, trust me I do, but I hate having to watch from the sidelines as you get worse..." He sighs, pressing a kiss against your forehead. "Let me just be there for you, yeah, my dear?" Viktor adds, pulling away slightly to look at you. "Alright.. I'll... I'll try, I promise." You answer, scooting back towards him so you could press your face into the crook of his neck, basking in his warmth for a little longer.

Couple Questions
You and Logan answer some cute couple questions!
professor logan howlett x professor fem!reader - established relationship (y'all married), cute, fluff, teasing, no y/n used, your an english professor, logan is a history professor
read on ao3 or find more parts for the series: here
a/n: not the usual update but I saw some couple questions on pinterest and thought you know whatâŚim gonna do this because itâs cute. i may or may not also have headcanons for them lol.
What were your first impressions of each other?
You : grinning "I thought he was rude. He barely said hello when I first arrived at the mansion, just mumbled something and walked away like I wasnât worth his time."
Logan : smirking "To be fair, I had a lot on my mind."
You : "But then I caught him staring at me in the library one day, and I thought, âHuh, maybe heâs not as grumpy as he looks.â Turns out I was wrongâheâs grumpier.â teasingly nudges him
Logan : chuckling "You done? âCause my first impression was that you talked too much."
You : mock gasp "Excuse me?!"
Logan : shrugging "But you had this fire about you. Didnât take crap from anyone. Thought that was⌠different." pauses, his voice softening "And your laugh. First time I heard it, I couldnât get it outta my head."
Describe the moment each of you knew you had feelings for each other.
You : thoughtful smile "I think it was when Jean told me Logan liked me. It just⌠clicked. All the banter, the little glances, the way heâd hover nearby even though he pretended not to careâit all made sense. Once I realized it, it was like⌠yeah, I like him too. It was terrifying and exciting at the same time."
Logan : scratching the back of his neck, pretending to look annoyed "Sheâs makinâ me sound soft already."
You : "You are soft."
Logan : ignoring her "For me, it was probably when I realized she wasnât offended by my attitude. Thatâs when I knew she wasnât just anyone. She was my someone."
Did either of you fight your feelings, or was it easy to accept?
You : snorting "Oh, we both fought it. He avoided me a lot of the time. I overthought everything âdoes he like me? What if Iâm imagining it? What if I ruin our friendship?"
Logan : dryly "You do think too much. Me? I didnât avoid you."
You : glaring playfully "You literally avoided the library for two weeks, and thatâs your favorite place!"
Logan : grinning faintly "Alright, fine. Maybe I fought it a little. Was scared Iâd mess things up. Didnât think someone like you would want someone like me."
You : softly, brushing his hand "Youâre an idiot for thinking that, but youâre my idiot."
When was the first time you said âI love youâ? What prompted it?
You : "It was after a nightmare. Logan woke up in a cold sweat, muttering apologies for scaring me. But he hadnât scared meâI just wanted to comfort him. And in the middle of me rambling about how it was okay, it just came out: âI love you.â"
Logan : quietly "Didnât think Iâd ever hear those words from someone. But when she said it, I couldnât stop myself. Told her I loved her right back."
You : smiling softly "And then you called me a âdamn foolâ for putting up with you."
Logan : shrugging "I stand by it."
Who is the big spoon, who is the little spoon?
You : "Oh, Loganâs the big spoon, obviously. But sometimes Iâll be the big spoon when heâs had a rough day. He pretends to hate it, but I know he secretly likes it."
Logan : grumbling "I donât need a damn cocoon, sweetheart."
You : grinning "But you still let me."
Whatâs your favorite quality about each other?
You : "Loganâs loyalty. Heâll protect the people he loves with everything he has, even when he doesnât think he deserves to be loved back."
Logan : looking at her, his voice softer "Her heart. Sheâs got this way of makinâ everyone feel like they matter. Like theyâre worth somethinâ. Thatâs rare."
You : teasingly "Stop, youâre gonna make me cry."
Logan : smirking "Good. Payback for all the times you make me feel stuff."
Who is the messiest?
You : raising her hand immediately "Me. Absolutely me."
Logan : snorting "Finally, somethinâ we agree on."
You : "Hey, at least I know where everything is in my mess. Your âorganizedâ piles confuse me."
Logan : "It ainât hard, darlinâ. One pileâs for weapons, the otherâs for books. Whatâs so confusinâ?"
Who sings in the shower?
You : grinning mischievously "Logan does. And he doesnât even realize it half the time. Itâs adorable."
Logan : deadpan "I donât sing in the shower."
You : "Oh, so the other day when I walked by and heard you mumbling âSweet Carolineâ under your breath, that wasnât you?"
Logan : grumbling "I was humminâ it. Thereâs a difference."
You : sarcastically "Sure, tough guy. Whatever helps you sleep at night."
Who likes horror movies? Who likes romance movies?
You : grinning "Logan likes horror movies, obviously. Heâll sit there, all serious, like nothing phases him. But I swear I caught him flinch once during The Exorcist ."
Logan : gruffly "Did not."
You : "You did. Anyway, I like romance movies. Logan pretends to hate them, but he always ends up watching them with me."
Logan : smirking "Thatâs âcause I know youâll cry, and I gotta be ready to hand you tissues."
You : rolling her eyes "And yet, who was tearing up during The Notebook last week? Hmm?"
Logan : groaning "Alright, fine. I might like some of âem. But donât go tellinâ anyone."
You : "Oh, your secretâs safe with me. But Iâll totally remind you next time we watch Pride and Prejudice ."
Logan : grinning, pulling her closer "Youâre somethinâ else, sweetheart."
Whatâs your favorite memory of us?
You:thoughtfully smiling âThatâs hard to pick. But⌠I think it was when you planned that romantic getaway for my birthdayâyou bought me that dress. Or when you wrote that for me poem and gave it to me for Christmas.â
Logan:grinning faintly âYou mean the one where you cried âcause I wrote you that little poem in the book?â
You:mock gasping âYou wrote me a poem , Logan. Of course, I cried! I still have that dress, by the way.â
Logan:chuckling, his voice softer now âThat was a good one. But for me? I think itâs our wedding. Just you, me, and those vows I wrote on a scrap of paper. You called me an idiot for cryinâ halfway through.â
You:sniffing dramatically âAnd Iâll call you an idiot for it again, but only because you cried first. You set me off.â
Logan:smirking âYou werenât even gonna cry âtil I pulled out that damn lucky pen you gave me.â
You:âWell, yeah, itâs our lucky pen, Logan! What did you expect?â
Hugs or kisses?
You:grinning slyly âKisses. Definitely kisses.â
Logan:raising an eyebrow âReally? Iâd say hugs.â
You:blinking in mock surprise âLogan Howlett likes hugs? Who are you and what have you done with my husband?â
Logan:shrugging, smirking a little âWhat can I say? Thereâs somethinâ about you wrappinâ yourself around me that just feels right.â
You:melting a little before recovering quickly âOkay, you win that one. But kisses still come with extra perks.â
Logan:grinning wickedly âOh, I know.â
Who finds it harder to admit theyâre wrong?
You:âOh, Logan. 100% Logan.â
Logan:gruffly âWhat? Thatâs not true.â
You:glaring playfully âLogan, you once argued with me for three hours about the best way to cook eggsâonly to realize you were wrong and never admit it.â
Logan:grumbling âThatâs âcause your way still doesnât make sense.â
You:crossing her arms âOh, it makes perfect sense, tough guy. Youâre just stubborn.â
Logan:grinning faintly âAlright, fine. Maybe I donât like beinâ wrong.â
You:âMaybe?!â
Whoâs the boss in the marriage?
You:smirking, pointing to herself âObviously me.â
Logan:laughing softly âYeah, you think so, huh?â
You:âLogan, who does the meal planning? The laundry schedules? Who makes sure you actually remember birthdays and anniversaries?â
Logan:grinning âAlright, you. But who fixes stuff when it breaks? Who makes sure no one bothers you when youâre havinâ a bad day? Who makes the coffee in the morninâ exactly how you like it?â
You:softening, smiling sweetly âAlright, fine. Weâre both the boss in different ways. But letâs be honestâwhen it comes to arguments, you fold first.â
Logan:mock scowling âOnly âcause you give me those damn eyes. Ainât fair.â
Who has the best jokes?
You:grinning smugly âMe. Hands down.â
Logan:snorting âYeah, okay. But only âcause your jokes are so bad, theyâre funny.â
You:âExcuse me?!â
Logan:grinning âSweetheart, half your jokes are puns. Donât get me wrong, I love seeinâ you crack yourself up, but best jokes? Nah.â
You:frowning in mock offense âFine, then letâs hear one of your so-called âgoodâ jokes.â
Logan:deadpan âWhyâd the history book break up with the science book? No chemistry.â
You:blinking, then laughing despite herself âOkay, that was actually pretty good. Damn it.â
Who is grumpier?
You:âOh, Logan. No contest.â
Logan:shrugging, unbothered âYeah, probably.â
You:giggling âYouâre basically a walking thundercloud until youâve had your coffee. And even then, youâve got about an hour before you start growling at people.â
Logan:smirking âThatâs true, but youâre no ray of sunshine when youâre hungry.â
Who gets angry when theyâre hungry?
You:immediately âOkay, fine. Thatâs me. But in my defense, you always know when to feed me before I get too hangry.â
Logan:chuckling âDamn right I do. Learned that the hard way on one of our first dates.â
You:giggling âOh, you mean the time you forgot to feed me after making me hike five miles, and I almost bit your head off?â
Logan:grinning âYup. You didnât even wait for the food to hit the table before tearinâ into me. Thought I was gonna lose a hand.â
You:grinning sheepishly âHey, at least you didnât run for the hills.â
Logan:softly, leaning closer âNah, sweetheart. Iâd take your hangry self over anyone else any day.â

What about a dragon prince au?
Adam is part of a family that can turn into dragons, their feared by the humans. So they send Lucifer up as an ambassador to work out a peace agreement.
Sera, the matriarch would like a better relationship with humans, and so would her daughter. But her son, on the other hand is a different story.
He hates humans and thinks their entitled. He's the main reason theres such hostility between them and humans, as he thinks they should worship him and his family.
Adam: I really don't know why he need this fucker here.
Sera rolled her eyes: We need to fix relations between us. I refuse to let there be anymore violence between us. Especially from you, Adam.
Adam: Pft. So I burned down a few villages- who cares!? They were full of uggos anyway.
Lucifer instantly hates Adam, especially when he realizes he's the golden dragon that's been causing the most casualties.
But Sera is determined to change her sons view of humans, so she forces him to show Lucifer around their estate. She's made the threat of cutting his wings off if he doesn't behave and show Lucifer respect.
Of course, Adam manages to slip in some rude comments and jokes at Lucifer's expense. Lucifer is definitely pissed off. He didn't want to be here to start with, and he really doesn't want to deal with this guy.
He really hates how hot Adam is, and he's definitely not checking him out as he shows him around.
I love everything about this!
-
Adam might have a human form but that didn't mean he liked humans and this one in particular was rather annoying. But his mother told him to play nice and show him around, so that's what he's doing.
The only thing that gave away that Adam was a dragon was his eyes, they were bright gold and his pupils weren't perfectly round.
Lucifer walked with his arms crossed as he followed him, the palace was lovely but Adam was an asshole.
A pretty asshole but still.
Adam sighed: And that is the path to the village.
Lucifer: Village?
Adam: Is there an echo in here? Yes, village where everyone lives. Don't get any ideas.
Lucifer: What? What ideas?
Adam kept walking and they passed a garden that he didn't comment on.
Lucifer: What about the garden?
Adam frowned: You're not allowed in there.
Lucifer: Why?
Adam rolled his eyes; You're just not, now come on.

OH! Cliffhanger ending đ I LOVE YOU!
Word Count: 4608
Part 1/Donate to Me
2 weeks.Â
It had been two weeks since you found out the man you had been intimate with was your roommate and friendâs father. Two weeks of silence even though you left him your phone number by his nightstand praying heâd call only to find out a few hours later that things were way more complicated than they should be.Â
Two weeks of dreaming of his lips and hands roaming your skin while he whispered in your ear how beautiful you were. Two weeks of crying at night because you desperately missed the sound of his laugh and hated that life was so un-fucking-fair.Â
Two weeks of misery.Â
âIâm sorry, Paige.â, you murmured as you glared out the window.Â
âHoney, itâs no problem. Your car was doomed to die sooner or later. Iâm surprised it ran for as long as it has.â, your friend chuckles as she rubs your arm. âWeâll get through this, Y/N.â
Following the tow truck pulling your car, she lets out a heavy sigh as her head hangs seeing a face you both recognize as he steps out towards the vehicle and speaks with the driver before heading towards you both.
âWhat are you doing here? Youâre normally off on Wednesdays.â, Paige growls as Eddie scans her over drying his hands on the rag from his back pocket.
âIâve, um, been doing some overtime. What happened, sweetheart? Your car die?â
âNo. My friendâs.â, she gestures towards you.Â
Without looking your way, he nods and guides you both towards the garage before popping the hood.
âGo ahead and take a seat in the lobby. Y/NâŚwas it? Can you stay and tell me whatâs been going on with the vehicle?â
âYeah, sure.â, you affirm, nodding towards Paige to assure her that you could handle yourself as she disappeared into the building.Â
âJesus Christ, I can already tell you this engine is shot.â, Eddie sighs as he leans under the hood.Â
âYeah, um, Iâve had it for years and it was my dads before that. It runs but sometimes if I go over a certain speed this partââ
âCareful!â, he shouts as he hastily grabs your hand before you can touch anything.Â
Time seems to stop as his fingers connect with your skin. You didnât realize how deeply you missed that feeling and when his eyes finally met yours you knew he felt it to.
âDonâtâŚdonât want you to get burned.â, Eddie mumbled as he let you go and turned back around.Â
âIâve been burned before.â, you sigh causing his head to hang. âWhy didnât you call?â
âI didnât think it was appropriate.â
âYouâre right. I guess I donât deserve an explanation or anything.â
His chocolate eyes glare your way before focusing on the parts in front of him once more.Â
âI didnât say that.â
âNo, your fucking actions did.â, you growl. âI guess Paige was right about you.â
âListen here, little girl.â, he grumbles as he stands up straight and points his finger at your chest. âYou donât know fucking anything about me or my family so I suggest you keep your fucking mouth shut.â
Glaring his way, you take one step forward till the tip of his index was pressing hard into your skin.Â
âYouâre right, I donât because you didnât call and what you did fucking tell me was a lie.â
âI DIDNâTââ, he starts to shout before looking around, grabbing your wrist, and dragging you to an office in the back of the garage. âI didnât lie.â
âYou said you werenât married.â
âIâm in the middle of a divorce.â
âDonât play semantics with me!â As he starts to lift his hand to silence you, you shove his chest. âYou said you were a boxer.â
âIÂ AMÂ a boxer.â, Eddie grunts with annoyance and as your eyes search his, you realize youâve touched a nerve.Â
âYou made it sound like it was your career. Youâre a fucking mechanic.â
âIâm working and training to make that my career. I work here to make money for my family.â
âThat you left.â
The man steps towards closer till his nose is hover just above your own.Â
âI said shut your fucking mouth. I love my daughter and I loved my wife before we separated. There are things Paige doesnât know and I plan to keep it that way because what happened in our marriage should be between me and her mother. Even though she keeps dragging her into our businessâŚâ
Your gaze remains locked with his till a heavy sigh leaves your chest and an involuntary tear slides down your cheek.Â
âYou hurt me.â, your whisper causing his strong features to falter. âI didnât expect this. I didnât even want to go on that stupid date but then I met you and we had a good time⌠I hate that I canât stop thinking about you. I hate that some of your cologne is still clinging to my fucking dress. I hate that I miss your lips and the way you made me feelââ
Abruptly, Eddieâs hands cupped your cheeks and his mouth crashed to yours. Your arms circled around his waist as you pulled him closer to you, your fists clenching around his dirty jumpsuit.Â
âIâm sorry.â, he murmured when he pulled back enough to allow you both to get some air. âI never meant to hurt you⌠I liked being with you to, sweetheart, and not just sexually, but this is wrong.â
âI know, Daddy, I know.â At your words, a strong groan leaves his lips as his forehead rests against yours. âH-Have you been thinking about me to?â
You knew it wasnât right but you couldnât help dropping into that headspace. You had felt so vulnerable these last couple of weeks and he had been the only man in a long time to make you feel cared for. To have him in front of you after missing him so much was making you needy and the desperate energy that was radiating from him wasnât helping.Â
âWhy do you think Iâve been working so much overtime?â, he chuckles. âI needed a distraction because every waking moment I miss your face. I dream about you, Y/N.â
As he continues to speak, your hips grind against his allowing the prominent dent below his waist graze along your panty covered core.Â
âI can smell your perfume on my sheets. When Iâm training, I picture you watching me like you did when I first saw you. Sometimesâshitâsometimes I imagine Iâm punching that fucking idiot that hurt you.â Eddie smiles when a breathy laugh leaves your lips. âWhen Iâm on my bike, I wish you were holding me like you did on the ride back to the gym. Jesus, any chance to feel youâre your sexy legs wrapped around meâŚâ
âLike this?â, you ask, lifting one of your legs around his waist.Â
At the action, his head falls into the nook between your neck and shoulder, pressing himself harder against you as he rubs his crotch against your center.Â
âAh my god, baby.â, he whispers causing you to shutter as you try to pull him closer to you. âFuck this.â
At Eddieâs abrupt grunt of annoyance, he pulls away enough to unzip his jumpsuit and push it down just below his waist. Your eyes take in the beads of sweat that cling to his muscular arms and chest, ready and willing to lick it off his skin if he wanted. After moving your panties to the side, he maneuvered his hips till his cock slid a bit roughly into your entrance.Â
âMmphâso big, Daddy. I missed having you inside meâŚso deep.â
His large palm gripped the back of your thigh, pulling it high up his waist while his open mouth kisses along your throat had your eyes rolling.Â
âJ-Just like that, baby, please. I need your cum. Please, cum with me.â
Rolling his hips, Eddie repeatedly slammed into that spongy spot inside at you, leaving you a trembling mess as you clung your arms around his neck and smothered your whimper in his shoulder as you came.Â
It didnât take him long to follow as he groaned and his fingers dug into your skin as his release coated your insides.
Neither of you moved as you panted in each otherâs embrace.Â
âEdward Munson!?â
At the sound of his name, you half expected him to jump away from you and adjust himself but when fingers gripped you tighter you were surprised.Â
âWho is that?â, you whisper calmly.
âMy boss.â, he replies in an equally lower register.
âShould you get back out there?â
When he nods, you begin to lower your leg but he just holds you tighter as he nuzzles his nose into your neck.Â
âI donât want to let you go.â, Eddie murmurs into your skin. âIf I doâŚthe reality of our situation comes back andâŚI donât want that, Y/N.â
Your fingers tenderly thread through his hair as you duck your head so your lips can kiss his.Â
âI know, baby, I know. I donât know what to do though.â
âMe either.â
âEDWARD MUNSON!â
âYEAH! Iâm fucking coming! Give me a goddamn minute!â, he shouts before backing away from you and adjusting your outfit. âMaybeâŚmaybe we can just be friendsâŚat least. I miss your voiceâŚâ
âOk.â
Your eyes lock with his after watching him tie the upper half of his jumpsuit around his waist.Â
âOk.â Turning around, he grabs some paper off the desk behind him and writes down his phone number. âText or call if you need anything or just want to talk. Iâll reach out to you later about your car. Itâs going to take longer than a night to fix. Do either of you need a ride?â
âOh, um, no. Paige and I followed the tow truck in her car so we can take that home.â
âOh, pfft, thatâs right. My brain sometimes...â
âI understand.â, you smile as you start to walk away but his hand around your wrist tugs you back as his lips lightly kiss yours again.Â
âI just wanted to taste you one last time.â
âOne last time.â, you repeat before turning to leave.
***
There were many âlast timesâ over the next couple of months.Â
You two couldnât stay away from each other for long but you knew this was wrong so after every intimate moment or night spent together, you promised this would be it. Especially since, according to Paige, Eddie was trying to be more in her life.
âIâm trying to let him in more but with the divorce hearing and everything, my mom is flipping her lid. My graduate school is doing that exhibit for art students and I want them both to go but I donât want it to be thing.â
âI understand, honey. This is a big deal for you and your work is amazing. All the attention should be on you. The few times Iâve talked with your parents, they seem like they can keep it together for one night.â
âHm.â, she sasses as she rolls her eyes making you laugh. âYouâll be there right?â
âOf course. Iâm taking the night off to be there.â
âGood.â, she sighs as she leans her head on your shoulder. âYou can help be my referee.â
You smiled and nodded but that was the absolute last thing you wanted to be.
***
The smell of rubber and sweat promptly hit you as soon as you open the gym door with the key Eddie gave you. He had already moved into his new apartment but the metalhead liked to come by after work and train as much as he could.Â
They gym itself closed around 8pm but the owner seemed to trust this particular boxer, allowing him to come and go at will. When you found him, you could vaguely hear the metal music that was blasting from his headphones as he punched the bag in front of him.Â
Eddieâs eyes were zeroed in on his target as he continued to follow one swing with another. Sauntering to his phone on the edge of the ring, you couldnât help but take in the picture of him and a much younger Paige on his lockscreen as he kissed her cheek while she smiled at the camera. They both looked so happy.Â
Pausing his music, he angrily turned before realizing it was you and his gaze immediately softened.Â
âHey. Hey, sweetheart. I didnât expect you.â, panted as he removed his gloves and took out the earbuds. âEverything all right?â
With a half smile you flashed him his phone screen and he cautiously came over to sit beside you as he continued to try to get a read on what was going on inside your head.Â
âI still remember when that was taken. Paige was about ten or eleven and the three of us went to a park to have fun. She lifted her arms in that boxing stance and took a couple of light swings.â, he chuckles. âThat was a few months before I started training. I had mentioned to her how when I was her age I wanted to be a boxer. She encouraged me to try⌠I donât know if she even remembers that after everything.â
âSheâs worried about the exhibit this weekend. Sheâs afraid that you and your ex will fight and ruin a night thatâs supposed to be about her.â
Eddieâs eyes squeeze shut as he sighs and takes your hand in his.Â
âI can understand why she would feel that way. My ex and I⌠Iâve tried so hard toâŚâ, he stutters as he struggles to find the words.Â
âI feel bad, Eddie.â, you whisper as his chocolate irises find yours. âSheâs right. This should be about her but this is the first time Iâm going to be in the same room with you two since my car broke down AND your ex, her mom, who Iâve met will be thereâŚâ
âSweetheart, baby, come on. Everythingâs going to be alright.â, he coos as he kisses your forehead. âJust be yourself and focus on Paige. I can handle the rest.â
############
âCalm down.â, you tease as you tug lightly on your roommateâs skirt as she dances in front of her artwork.Â
âIâm calm! Iâm calm. Iâm just so excited.â
âHey, sweetheart.â, Eddie beamed as he sauntered towards Paige and reached down for a hug that she eagerly accepted. You knew she would be more open tonight because she was in such a good mood and the warmth that glowed from the metalhead as she wrapped her arms around him had you grinning from ear to ear.Â
You liked seeing them both happy.Â
âHey there, Y/N.â, he greets politely as he tosses you a smile. âGeez, you both look gorgeous. I feel like Iâm underdressed.â
Since you met him, you had never seen Eddie this dressed up and to you he looked as delicious as ever in his suit and tie with his hair pulled back out of his face. The man tried to control his eyes as they raked across you in your cute blue dress that rested just above your knees.Â
âI think you look great, dad. Oh, thereâs my professor. Iâll be right back! Y/N, show him my work.â
Eddie couldnât help but laugh as he watched her excitedly bounce away before focusing on her art hanging on the wall.Â
âPaige was always a really talented artist.â, he muses as he absorbs the image in front of him. âI, uh, I guess I see now why you didnât make the connection that we were related.â, the man murmurs sullenly as he gestures towards her signature.
Paige Davis
âIâm sorry, Eddie.â, you whisper back wishing desperately that you could hold him.Â
As the night wore on, you remained next to your friend while her father roamed the area occasionally sneaking glances at you from afar. He absolutely adored what a caring friend you were to his daughter knowing thatâs exactly what she needed with everything going on in her life.Â
He always hated that his ex insisted on telling Paige everything going on in their divorce even more so that he knew she was purposely omitting truths to make him look like that asshole. Eddie could do the same if he wanted to but he refused to stoop that low and not just because it was wrong to pull her into that but because he also knew how much Paige loved her mother. He knew how important it was to have her in his daughterâs life after losing his own at such a young age so he chose to allow the narrative to continue even if that made him the bad guy.Â
He just prayed you didnât see him that way either.Â
The boxer hated having to hide you knowing a beautiful woman like you deserved to be lavished and seen.Â
But what could he do?
Not only were you his daughterâs friend but he was going through a messy divorce, in-between careers, barely had an income, and heâd be lying if he didnât say the age difference made him feel slightly insecure.Â
Eddie accepted the way things were at the moment but he knew it couldnât stay that way forever.Â
âPaige, honey, oh my god, this is amazing.â, her mom squealed as you watched them both hug. âHey, Y/N, how are you? You look beautiful.â
âThank you, Ms. Davis.â, you awkwardly smile as she leans down to hug you as well.Â
âNow, who do I speak with to buy this gorgeous work of art?â
âMom. My professor has to review it first along with all the others.â, Paige whines.
âI mean, obviously, youâll get a good grade.â
The smell of his cologne hits you before your friendâs nervous eyes do.Â
âYou know maybe Dominick would like it in his living room so we can show it off you know? Oh, hey Edward.â, her mother coos in a syrupy tone that has even you wanting to roll your eyes.Â
âAva.â, Eddie greets. âHow are you?â
âGreat! Absolutely wonderful.â
As the night progresses, something changes. Paige, who had been spending most of the night in front of her artwork, had vanished and you promptly went on the hunt for her before finding her in a bathroom stall.Â
âPaige? Oh my.â, you sass as you inhale the smell of liquor wafting from her lips when you open the door to check in.Â
âHey, Y/N! My bes fer-en.â, she slurs.Â
âOk, how much have you had, honey? Donât you still need to talk to your professor?â
âPfft, no. I done. Uh ohâŚâ, she chuckles before throwing herself over the toilet to vomit.
âAlright, sweetie. Youâre ok. Get it all out.â
âMy-my mom invited her boyfr-en. I meanâŚI guess heâs not technically her boyfr-enâŚI donât know. Ma dad is gonna be pissed.â, she giggles as you help her to her feet and guide her to the sink to wash her hands and face.Â
âLetâs talk about that later. Like you said, tonight is supposed to be about you.â
âI don know why he be so angry. I think he has a girlfr-en or something. Plus, they havenât been together for a year.â
You try to block out her words but itâs hard especially when you walk her out the door and are suddenly bombarded by the sound of yelling.Â
âTonight was supposed to be about her, Ava!â
âHEY! Iâm only going to say this one more fucking time. Donât speak to my girlfriend like that!â
âYou donât have any fucking say in this as far as Iâm concerned! Now excuse me while I talk to the mother of my fucking child.â
âSheâs not a child, Edward, and she doesnât mind that I bring him. Youâre the one that seems to be causing the problem and putting attention on yourself.â
âThatâs right. Make me the fucking bad guy even though youâve been parading him around in front of me the last couple of hours.â
The sound of your grunt as Paige collapses in your arms grabs their attention as all eyes turn your way.Â
âI didnât mean toâŚIâm sorryâŚsheâs drunk. I was just trying to get her to my carâŚâ
âNo, um, no worries, Y/N, I can take her.â
As the other man steps forward, you spin your friend out of his grasp.Â
âI know them. I donât know you.â, you growl. âAll I know is that you being here upset her so Iâm not letting you touch her.â
âDom, itâs ok, baby.â, she calls his way before glaring at Eddie. âThis your fucking fault.â
âShe didnât want him here, Ava.â
âNo, you donât want him here.â, she hisses before taking her boyfriendâs hand and heading to their car.Â
Angerly, he stalks your way and collects his daughter in his arms.Â
âIâll follow you to your place and help you get her in bed.â, he grumbles, buckling her in before heading for his motorcycle.
***
âI donât think Iâve seen your room before.â, he sighs with a smile as he looks around at all your things.
After getting Paige in bed, he took the opportunity and followed you across the hall into your bedroom. Eddie took solace in the fact that you were a bit messy like him, taking note of all the clothes on the floor and your bed half made. You had posters of different movies as well as some of your friendâs artwork that he immediately recognized.Â
You watch as he picks up random items on your dresser including your perfume that he inhales and smirks at the familiar scent.Â
âMy parents.â, you answer when he flashes you a photo in a frame.Â
âYou look like them.â
âEddie, why does her boyfriend make you so jealous?âÂ
At your question, he sighs as he places the image back down and turns to face you leaning against the furniture.Â
âI donât know.â, he shrugs. âMaybe itâs because we arenât even fucking divorced yet and sheâs calling him her boyfriend while talking about him like heâs the love of her fucking life.â
âYou two arenât divorced and youâre fucking me.â
âItâs different.â
âHow?â
His large chocolate eyes meet yours before coming around and descending to his knees in front of you.Â
âY/N, I did everything and I mean EVERYTHING to make my marriage work. It was never enough. To herâŚI had failed as a husband and she wasâŚisâŚgoing to whatever she can to punish me for that.â As your gaze shifts to the floor, his fingers quickly grab your chin to bring your focus back to him. âTalk to me.â
âI thinkâŚthe reason itâs different is because she can parade him around and claim him. You canât do that with me.â
âI want to.â, he whispers. âMore than anything.â
âButâŚâ
âI donât know what to do, Y/N. It would fucking kill Paige if she found out but I know itâs killing you, sweetheart. You deserve to be seen and shown off.â
âEddieâŚmaybe, weââ
âDonât. Please donât say we should stop.â, he murmurs as his head falls into your lap and on impulse your hand comes up to run your fingers through his hair. âI donât want to lose you, baby.â
Hearing your sniffles, he lifts his head and his palms cup your cheeks as he catches your tears with his thumbs.Â
âNo, princess, no. Donât cry. Daddyâs here, baby girl. Everythingâs going to be ok.â
Collecting you in his arms, you allow him to hold you as he continuous to whisper soft words of endearment and adoration. After a while, you allow him to undress you and make love to you; his palm clasped over your mouth to silence the screams that are on the edge of your tongue with every orgasm he pulls from you.Â
âCan I stay? I promise Iâll leave as soon as the sun comes up.â, Eddie murmurs as he continues to trail gently pecks along your skin. âI just donât want to let you go right now.â
You nod knowing âright nowâ will eventually come. You fall asleep in his arms and wake up alone but unlike other nights where you both had done thisâŚthis time kills you.Â
#################
Eddie grumbles under his breath as he slams the phone a bit to roughly on the table in front of him. It had been a few days since he had heard from you and he was starting to get incredibly worried. Usually if you couldnât talk, you would leave a little emoji or tell him youâd reply âASAPâ but since that night after his daughterâs exhibit, you would read his messages but never reply.Â
âHey, Dad.â
âHeyâŚhey, Paige, sweetheart. Itâs good to see you.â, he grins as he tries to hide his pain so he can enjoy lunch with his daughter. They rarely did this anymore and he savored every moment he got. âHow are you? Tell me everything.â
One of the many traits she got from him was her gift of gab. Once she started talking, she could go on and on and Eddie loved it. He absorbed everything she said and laughed whenever she would make a little joke at her expense.Â
âUgh and then Y/Nâs got her own bit of chaos.â
At the sound of your name, he tried not to let the concern show on his face as he casually replied, âOh yeah? Whatâs going on with her?â
âI guess her and that boxer guy she liked split or something. She spent the last couple of days just completely broken and sobbing. Weâve had a lot of girlâs nights filled with ice cream and movies.â, she giggled before sighing as Eddieâs heart breaks.Â
You hadnât said you wanted to stop seeing him, not directly, and he was pretty sure he hadnât said anything to make you think he wanted your relationship to end. He cared about you very much and hated not being around you or hearing from you.Â
âAnd of course, guess who calls like dog who can sense that sheâs upset? Her fucking ex. Oh shit, dad! Are you ok?!â
Eddie hadnât realized that while Paige was speaking, his grip around his glass had gotten tighter and tighter until she mentioned your ex causing it to break under his grasp.Â
âHuh? Fuck. Yeah, Iâm fine.â, he replies as he reaches for napkins to clean up the mess. âSo did they get back together or what?â
âOh, I donât know. Sheâs had dinner with him a couple of times but I donât think they are. She said she wanted to go slow and hear what he had to say. I mean they were together for a while.âÂ
âYeahâŚwell, shit. Good for her, I guess.â, he seethes.Â
âYeah. I told her I was going to your match on Saturday with my boyfriend and that she should come so I can vet him. See what heâs up to but she seemed skeptical about going. Maybe sheâs afraid the boxer guy will be there to. Do you know who he is? Sheâs never told me his name.â
âUh, no I donât but tell her they both should come. The more the merrier and if that boxer guy shows up, I can kick his ass. Maybe we can all have dinner together and I can help you vet him.âÂ
Paige laughs when he lightly taps her hand.
âWonât it be weird? Youâll be like a fifth wheel.â
âOh, donât worry, sweetheart. Iâm sure I can find someone to bring along. If youâre ok with that, of course.â
âOk! Sounds like a plan. This is going to be interesting.â
She had no idea.

I've been thinking in a Cumplane friendship idea.--
You see, everyone seems to believe SQQ and SQH can't stand each other. Quite the opposite, really. When it's only the two of them they don't feel the need to keep up the pretence. It's so easy to relax, to put the mask aside.
They aren't peak lords nor cultivators. They're just two dudes in their mid tweenties trying to survive in this forsaken world.
SY knows he might not be the kindest nor the most loving of friends, (he spent so many years alone in a cold, hospital room, he's not good at socializing) but he does care for Airplane. A lot. He will never say it out loud because it's embarrasing but that stupid author is his best friend.
So, that's why when the news of Qinghua's disappearance finally reach him (two weeks, it took two full weeks before someone decided to tell him--- )they absolutely destroys him.
He seems calm at fisrt. Not truly procesing the news. LBG makes a few comments about something Mobei told him (you fucking knew and didn't tell me, how dare you, husband?! )
Gone, SQH? No, that's dumb. He couldn't be gone. He's a peak lord, he has responsabilities, a bunch of little ones to teach. He even takes care of the north. And most importantly why would he leave Mobei? It makes no sense, not fucking sense.
SQH wouldn't leave like that. He... he wouldn't leave SY behind.
He can feel sob building up in his throat. That... stupid, idiot--HACK AUTHOR!
His crying fit is so strong and sudden that sends LBG and his whole demon staff into a panic.
"Shizun?!" He says looking for visible injuries-
"Don't touch me!" He screams and LBG looks at him with hurt.
"Husband? Have... have this disciple done something wrong?"
SQQ just turns and walks to his chambers ordering LBG not to follow him. His husband is left feeling distressed and cries for very different reasons.
Later that night they talk. SQQ feeling tired and sad finally calls for his husband to comfort him. He explains to him why he is angry at him and LBG apologizes.
"This one thought you hated Shang-shibo and that Shizun wouldn't care about his dissapereance." He says in a small, careful voice. "Mobei jun came to the palace days ago to beg for help in his search... "
"You turned him away... " SY says, sounding very tired.
"Yes. But this husband will make it right, Shizun. I will find your friend for you, promise."
SY sighs and hugs his husband, hiding his face in his chest.
..
Idk 'm all over the place but the idea is that the system is glitching and took SQH and is kind of keeping him hostage? Like, in between worlds. Not the mordern universe, not PIDW.
I imagine LBG having a very hard time accepting his shizun worries and loves others and not just him (??? why??? I'm more than enough you need NO ONE else shizun). He's too possesive and would like very much just to lock his shizun away, but that would break him and he never wants to see him cry like that ever again. Even if that means he has to share his attention.
MBJ is very broken in this one fiding himself lost without SQH. they had just finally stablished their relationship so he's between angry and scared. Also his trust and loyalty to LBG has taken a blown since he refused to help him find his lover. Didn't he help LBG when everyone turned his back on him as he clinged to his dead shizun's body?
While they work together (before they can even figure out where sqh is) LBG slowly realizes he might have fucked up a bit and ??? misses Mobei ??? are they friends???!!
SY tries his fucking best to keep it together. Really, he loves Binghe but that man can be so dense.
They find where SQH is being kept. The place is like a limbo. Cold, and vast where no time passes. In order to get him back LBG, MBJ and SQQ work together to reforge Xin Mo and travel there. There's a cool fighting montage, tears, hugs and everyone is happy at the end
Yeah that's all i got so far. I'll be going back to work now--

tell me what to do || jjk
⤡ summary: when the familiar becomes unfamiliar what do you do
âś pairing: jungkook x reader
âś word count: 3.4k
âś genre: angst, established relationship au, breakup au
âś content: boyfriend!jk, big argument, talking about breaking up, the blame game, basically misunderstanding due to miscommunication
âś warnings: explicit language
a/n: once again, this a very old piece I polished up, okay so this was my second piece of work so read with caution. as you can guess it is based on shineeâs tell me what to do because I was absolutely obsessed with the song so I used the lyrics as a guideline for writing, I incorporated the lyrics into the story. let me know what you think i really appreciate feedback :) & recommend a song if youâd like and iâll write a scenario with it like i did with this song)
âď¸ âď¸ âď¸ âď¸ âď¸ âď¸ âď¸ âď¸ âď¸ âď¸
these days, i donât know, i donât know you.
you look like you gave up on a lot of things
but i hear your silent scream
I sit at the dining table drinking tea in my home - our home but lately nothing seems like ours anymore. It feels like there never was an ours, never an us. I donât even need to sense it, I can see it. Itâs as though I donât know him anymore. He looks like he gave up on a lot of things, and like he gave up on us. I can almost hear him silently screaming for an end, our end.
lovers without extreme development
is this the losing hand that time has placed?
we havenât ended it but itâs already over
He walks through the doorframe fully dressed ready for his day while still sporting his messy bedhead that he somehow manages to make look angelic. Thatâs one thing that hasnât changed, I still see his beauty and thatâs something I donât think could ever change. Because that is what he is a beauty inside and out and that canât simply disappear.
He greets me with a gentle kiss on the forehead, a soft  âgood morningâ and a soft smile. Weâve been like this for a while now, stuck in this certain level of interaction almost a routine. Like lovers without any extreme development, without any growth in our relationship if you can even call it that anymore.
âDid you sleep well?â I ask a bit apprehensively.
He picks up the coffeepot, while avoiding any slight piece of eye contact and pours himself a cup with the coffee I made for him, just another part of our routine. Iâve always hated coffee, its dull blackness, the bitter taste, the way it leaves a stain, how the smell lingers, and how it keeps you awake. But after Jungkook that view changed for me, its dull blackness suddenly started reminding me of Jungkookâs dark dreamy eyes, the bitter taste of it reminded me of his lips as that was my only intake of it, and those stains it left was warmth around my heart, the smell was like being engulfed in his arms, and it allowed me and him to be up spending more hours together. In a way, coffee was like a representation of our love.
However, that love has turned black and bitter just like the coffee in his mug. The sweet smiles we always shared and the bright laughs that used to be heard between us vanished. He vanished, pulled away and it was too late to try to pull him back.
âMhm,â he replies nodding while taking a sip, and like our love, it disappears as he swallows it down.
I nod with him and look down at my hands wrapped around my mug. Is this the losing hand that time has placed? Were we just doomed to keep repeating the same routine with each other in denial, in silence similar to the one we are currently sitting in a few metres apart while we are living in different worlds away from one another? Â We havenât ended it but itâs already over. We were already over.
He refuses to have conversations with me when before no one could ever shut us up. Instead of constantly messing around to get a smile out of each other, he always seems to be at a safe distance away from me.
thereâs a knot that canât be untied
in front of us
As the bottoms of both our cups are revealed, so is our obvious stunt to keep a conversation from starting. Jungkook sets his mug in the sink and approaches me, and with just those movements my heart races.
âWell Iâm going to head off okay?â, he stares at me with an expression I struggle to readâŚitâs almostâŚapologetic.
âYeah, I need to start getting ready anyway,â I say.
âOkay then I guess Iâll see you later,â he says like it's a question while picking up his keys and approaching the door. As if he is unsure we will return to each other as if we are not one another's home.
I hum in agreement and just as his hand is about to touch the knob. I realise he forgot, one of the things that I assumed had turned into second nature for us has slipped out of his head. Now fearing that I could be the next thing to slip out of his head or even worse slip out of his life.
âJungkook?â I call out.
He turns almost too quickly like he has been caught doing something he isnât supposed to.
âYeah?â he turns with wide eyes.
I give him a look, a look that speaks words only he could understand.
âAh,â he sighs approaching me.
He cups my face with two hands, hands that are all too familiar but feel like they belong to a stranger at the same time.
He gives me the kiss I had reminded him of. It isn't necessarily part of our routine but something we have always done. It was always our sign of love to the other before we headed out into the world, a reminder of our love.
A reminder I think is much needed for us both.
He pulls away still holding my face âSorryâ he says and this time the apologetic look in his eyes is all too clear matching his voice.
But as I hear his words his âsorryâ seems to be for a different reason than just forgetting to kiss me before leaving the house. But without thinking more I just let it go.
âItâs okay. Get going now or youâll be late.â I laugh softly and with one last kiss, heâs out the door.
Thereâs a knot that canât be untied in front of us, both knowing that we should let go, that we should kiss goodbye one last time and both walk out of that door and go our separate ways for good. But that is easier said than done.
Jungkook and I both well aware of the fall in our relationship are also conscious of the love that will forever remain between us. The history between us is far too much for us to walk away. To take five years of memories and experiences with a person youâve grown with so much that they have become an attachment to your life, to you as a person is an unimaginable pain that we would both rather avoid.
It is also scary, Jungkook is the one thing I remember having through everything, he is essentially a part of me. The thought of becoming one person again is something I never pictured having to do again. In all of my plans for myself, and for the future he is right there beside me. I have become accustomed to considering things for two people I couldnât imagine just worrying about me, one person.
But as I consider what is right for the two of us all I can think of is that maybe we were better off as two separate people.
you donât tell me but you want me to know
you think that you only gave the words you threw at me
because youâre too used to me
As the day comes to a close I hear the door open and footsteps follow. The sound I used to anticipate now makes me tense. Nevertheless, once the owner of those steps and so much more turns the corner, my lips canât help but leap into a smile thatâs both relieved and nervous.
Jungkook takes off his shoes and takes a seat beside me, with yet a space once again between us.
âHey,â he breathes out as he settles into the couch.
I slightly hesitate, âHeyâ
We sit in silence but hear everything that wants to be said. An invisible weight piling up on our shoulders, an awkwardness that has become usual between us. So I finally broke it and said it. The moment we never believed would come or tried to avoid finally came.
âL-look Jungkook," I take a deep breath and continue, "we both know what has happened between us-â
âYe-Wait, what?â he interrupts, eyebrows furrowed.
âNo, it's time we finally faced it, weâve run our course. I supposed our time together was only supposed to be this long.â
âWhat are you talking about?-â
This time it is me who interrupts.
âIt's just hard for me to let go of you, you just mean so much to me but I canât control how you feel.â
âHuh? How do I feel? What do you mean? What are you even talking about right now?" he rushes out.
âIt's okay you donât have to keep silent like youâre keeping some secret from me, I know. Youâve lost feelings for meâ
âNo, youâre not listening to me-â
âKookie, it's okay Iâm a big girl Iâve broken up with a guy before.â
âBreak up?", his voice panicked, "Woah just listen to me for one second, will you? Holy shit!â
Once again we sit in silence except this time I canât hear the silent words waiting to be said.
He shakes his head.
âI donât know what youâre talking about. You think you know but thatâs not what I wanted to talk to you about not even close.â
âI-I thought-â I stutter out eyes widened.
âYeah exactly, you thought. Or is that what you want? Do you want to break up?â he asks staring me directly in my eyes, his voice much softer with apprehension.
âI want to make things easier for you,â I reply in a whisper head lowered as I fiddle with my hands in my lap.
He gives me a look, a look as if I have just said something impossible to comprehend. We were both unaware of what had been happening between us for months. It's like he has become so used to the act we put on to ignore our downfall that he forgot it was an act.
âEasier? " he scoffs a laugh with zero humour, "Is breaking up something easy for you?â he argues back.
The fact that he was going to sit there and continue to play this game even after I called it out sparked an emotion inside of me and the one that decided to come out was anger.
âOh, come on Jungkook! We both know you checked out on us a long time ago.â
His eyes widen and then he also snaps.
âMe? I checked out, are you being fucking serious right now? I know I have pulled away a bit but you didnât give me any sign to do otherwise!â
âAre you seriously turning this on me right now?â I snapped back with a newfound boldness to defend myself instead of my initial plan to make this an easy conversation for him. For us.
âWell, Iâm not going to blame myself, even though thatâs what youâre trying to do. Just because you know me, you think that means you know all my inner fucking feelings. When it's clear you donât know mine or your own!â He says in a stern and loud tone that I have heard him use in the pastâŚ. just never to me.
indifferent and painful words
left deep scars on that day
words that made me realize
that iâm still a fool
âWell, maybe it wouldnât be so easy for me to read your feelings if it wasnât so blatantly obvious on your face and the way you act differently around me now!â
âAnd you think I started acting the way I did simply because I suddenly just lost all my feelings for you? You canât be that clueless!â
The words being thrown between us were indifferent and painful which had already left their mark on both of us and only made us more frustrated. At this point, the distance between us seems bigger than the couch itself and my heart feels heavier than when I thought we were about to break up.
âNo, you canât be this low into making this seem like itâs all on me! And not knowing my feelings how does that even make sense?â I blurt out.
âSeriously, I know when we first started having problems we both started acting slightly different towards each other but it was never this badâŚâ voice much calmer and less tense than it was a few seconds ago as he continued.
âBut it was after my birthday, you know after what happened, you just changed how you acted toward me -with me completely.â His tone turned the air serious almost still. I felt it slap me right across my face, run right into my chest knocking the air out of me.
âI-I did?", making my way full circle back to stuttering.
The next words that come out of his mouth make me realize the fool that I am. And at this realization, I could only tear up. Choked up it is my eyes this time that turn apologetic, while his eyes look at the floor before us.
He nods.
âYou did. At first, it was just little things like not asking me to pick you up on my way home or not asking for my shirt to wear to bed. But then it turned into so much more.â
I looked down filled with a bit of shame. Until I heard a sound from him I didnât expect, a chuckle.
âJust like that. You didnât even look at me anymore. At the table, in the car, you even turn your back to me when weâre in bed. I used to catch you staring at me even when I wasnât looking at you.â He smiles fondly at the memory and itâs his turn to look down at his hands.
He plays with his bracelet, one I got for him two years ago for his birthday. He shakes his head, âItâs as if my presence makes you completely uncomfortable now.â his voice cracks.
And it is right then when I do too.
if only i can erase it
if only i can
At that moment I wished I had done the exact thing he told me I always did. Because once I did look up at him what I saw broke me. His eyes filled with tears he is trying to hold back, a few escaping but he is quick to wipe them away. It was the worst thing I could see besides looking at me driving him away. It was me hurting him. If I could erase everything I did to make him think that I didn't love being around him I would, and now I could.
i took you for granted
but just thinking of you not being there
i donât want to go through that
my world would crumble
Although I may not be able to erase everything I can change everything from here on to prove to him he has the wrong view of what he is to me. He is the furthest thing than just an uncomfortable presence. He is my best friend, my roommate, my chauffeur, my home, my family, and my lover. My everything. Even the thought of him not being in my lifeâŚmy whole world would fall apart.
am i the one for you
at some point, you were keeping me in check
i said you changed a lot but i changed the most
the one for me, i didnât know
but that promise keeps suffocating us
time keeps lingering but our time keeps getting destroyed
The tears running down his face make me think he feels the same, that he doesnât want us to end like this. It assures me of us, that he is the one for me and I am the one for him.
âIâm sorry,â he looks at me and for the first time in a while we both look into each otherâs eyes with hopefulness, âI said you changed a lot, but I was the one who changed the most. And I kept acting that way because I had made myself think that was what you wanted. I didnât want to let you go so I thought by doing that I would hold onto you longer but that very thing is what suffocated us. It's what wrecked our relationship and sent it down even further. We had so much time to fix it but it just kept getting destroyed.â I say with two streams running one under each eye.
He finally speaks after what to me feels like a whole lifetime.
âIt's okay, I mean, it's both our faults though,â he sniffs, âWe should have had this conversation a long time ago.â He has gone back to fiddling with his bracelet this time him being the one to break eye contact.
He laughs, again catching me off guard with the unexpected reaction.
âItâs funny, the one thing we did the most even when we didnât need to or werenât even supposed to do, is what we failed to do when we needed to the mostâŚtalk.â
I couldnât help but laugh as well at the irony.
âI guess we took all those times we told each other to shut up when watching movies to heart.â I chuckle out and he laughs at my response.
that smile came to me, more brightly
the cold hands became more warm
two lonely souls met
not lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely
iâll look into you again, iâll place your breathing in my ears
even if everything but us changes
His smile seemed brighter now more than ever. At that moment the room seemed to be glowing.
I reached out and grabbed his hands,
âI love you, I have always and will always. I donât want to give us up, I never have. Weâve been together for too long to go back to being lonely and Iâd be an idiot to pick loneliness over you.â
I looked at him the whole time watching his expression with every word. I look through the tears in my eyes at him and when I feel him squeeze my hands in his the tears spill over all over again.
âYou are the only girl who has had my heart for years. Iâve never debated giving it to anyone else. Iâm willing to do whatever it takes. Iâll get us back to the good place where we were before. Even if something has to change I donât care as long as we are the only thing that doesnât.â
His words were exactly what I wanted and needed to hear, enabling my tears to keep falling down my face but now out of pure happiness, the pure bliss of us finally back to one another. We were finally back to being us.
I pull him towards me by the nape of his neck, foreheads resting against each other. With our lips brushing,
âI love youâ I whisper to him.
He lovingly smiles back.
âI have always loved you too.â
And those were the only words I ever needed to hear from him.
i hope youâll tell me first
donât cry no more
if your heart can see me
donât cry no more
He pulls me onto his lap, legs dangling over his. I bury my head in his chest, my arms wrapping around his strong torso. His arms pull me into a tight embrace, one that signifies neither of us is about to go anywhere.
âNow stop crying, baby.â He teases me, the only evidence of his tears is the red in his eyes.
âI canât they wonât stop now.â I giggle out past my sobs.
âItâs okay now, we know our feelings are on the same page.â
iâll go to you first
at the end of a different road
iâll wipe your cheeks
that are wet with tears
and ask you
âNow we just need to figure out where to start where do we go from here,â he continues as he holds my face again as he did hours ago but now the gesture felt completely different as he used his thumbs to wipe my cheeks that were wet with tears, I look into those dreamy coffee coloured eyes of his as I listen to the next words that came out of his bitter coffee flavoured lips that I can already taste,
âTell me what to doâ

ok wow, took me 4 hours to read and annotate this.
i love LOVE the banner, it rly like set the mood of the story and i love your editing skills !!
whoops, this is long.
â plot; easily my most fav wonwoo fic. oh god, i was from the moment you announced in front of me was in the works. angsty fic with best friend wonwoo, i was SOLD. plus unrequited love? pining? realistic characters? yes. the angstiest piece written so beautifully and done with so much effort. and this hits way too close to home. i literally felt called out at multiple points of reading. i just love how realistic and gut wrenching this is.
â oc; she's an idiot, i love her. honestly, i feel like she's me lmao. everything from pining like an idiot to the buzzfeed unsolved and aot, man. she's so well sculptured in a way her characterization is realistic. her sensitivity, the willingness to let him walk over her like that, pining, naivety, accepting him no matter what. fucking hell, she wasn't even angry at last, just so tired and soft with her wordings, only breaking down by the very end. she needed a push to take a stand for herself and i'm so glad she did!
â wonwoo; *sighs* the very introduction and he was already being a dick. but goddamn the fact he's genuinely oblivious to it? when i was expecting toxic bsf! wonwoo, i didnt expect him to be a cardboard cut-out of he-who-shall-not-be-named. ig every girl has stumbled across these type of guys. it would've been so easier to hate by just seeing the story from his pov. but introducing his thoughts and views made me fee pity for him. bcz yeah, he's human too and as much as he's despicable, i understand him. a true gray character. his feelings were so complex. the string of relationships that never worked out were so bitter to read about, him ghosting her yet always crawling back, the uncertainty when she started ignoring him, the jealousy, the anger. his character was so raw and human. as much as i feel sympathy for him, sometimes leaving ppl like this behind is the best answer.
â seokmin; ok, i was so enamored by this guy, that i completely overlooked the fact that he could have bad intentions. like?? if you read thru my annotations, i genuinely liked him? even when wonwoo said he knew what he was doing, i thought wonwoo was being stupid. ... until i heard it straight from seokmin. man, the twist? i was so shocked, i dont even know what's gonna happen lmao. this is crazy.
â the friends; i love them from what we've seen of them. the scene with gyu giving him a reality check? fuck yes, you need friends like that. not only was he looking out for her, he was looking out for him too. i loved it!
â annotations;
Your phone beeps indicating that heâs hung up and you can feel the heartstrings pull inside your chest. How many times will it take for Wonwoo to find someone he actually wants to be with? And why is it never you?Â
the angst is already hitting omfgggg
and the prologue feels like the opening to a movie, i love it so much.
âWait, what? You and Wonwoo arenât dating?â Seungcheol asks you, forcing you into the hot seat.Â
asking the real questions here
Looking over at Wonwoo, you anxiously wait for his answer, your chest blooming with hope, only for those buds to be washed away in a millisecond.Â
nooo, but also yesss for the slowburn
âNo, câmon, weâre just friends. Thatâs it, right?â Wonwoo turns to you, trying to get you to back him up.Â
that hurts..
But you sit there, with your heart crushed in your hands, lifeless and shrivelled. Like his words and actions had the power to tear the life out of you. The worst part was that he did all this without knowing. Heâs completely oblivious to your feelings, and you only have yourself to blame.
this is already hitting omfgÂ
He becomes more detached when heâs in a relationship, and youâre okay with that. His priorities change and youâre okay with that. Despite your feelings for him, you know that you canât force him to feel the same way. And you should be okay with that.Â
ow ow ow, ok.Â
but that doesnât mean it doesnât hurt any less to see the person youâre in love with, fall in love with someone else.Â
đ angst is angsting
Having Seungcheol confirm that Wonwoo has never felt anything romantically for you was like a stab in the stomach, and him getting you to back up his words was just him twisting the knife.Â
reading this while im on my periods is gonna punch me in the gut
âItâs alright,â he coos, pulling you into his strong arms. Â
đ§not me serving lanes with seokmin lmao
You have all these examples of why he would probably be the worst boyfriend ever, yet your heart still belongs to him.
been there, done that. i am guilty your honor
You were hoping that he would go, even looking forward to it. Is that pathetic? To want to see him everywhere you go? Maybe you were pathetic to the point where you only felt like hanging out with your friends if he was there.Â
sheâs down bad and attached af but I UNDERSTAND RAHHÂ
He sighs as he sinks into the plush cushions, spreading his legs while he puts his arms up.
đ§âŚ i giggledÂ
Wonwooâs arm circles your shoulder, pulling you closer to him and forcing your head to rest delicately on his broad shoulder.
RAHHHHHHHH đŚ
âOf course, what are best friends for?âÂ
ofc ofc ⌠best friends âŚ
Most people fall in love gradually, slowly growing feelings for the person before they can even call it love. Like the way the seasons steadily turned from winter to spring. Green grass peeking from underneath the melting snow, or flowers gently blooming and unravelling their new set of stems and petals. For you, it was different.
this was so beautiful, i just had to point it out. Annaâs writing >>>>
If anything, falling in love with Wonwoo felt like a snowstorm in the middle of a sunny day.
alexa play, snow on the beach (annaâs version)
He was the shy, scrawny new kid in your class, and no one paid mind to him except you.
fuck, i feel called out
Despite his interest in collecting pokĂŠmon cards and his crooked glasses that were too big for his face, you were in love.Â
is this about me?
You were like two peas in a pod that whole year, and the only time you and Wonwoo spent time apart was when he had to leave during summer break to visit family in Korea.Â
this fucking play is abt me
It annoyed you to see all these people suddenly interested in him. You were angry that just because he grew a few inches and learned to do his hair didnât mean he was that much different from how he was last year.Â
oh fucking hell, anna are you perhaps stalking me??? im having flashbacks
He started to invest more of his time into her until he decided she wasnât worth his energy anymore. Then the calls would come, his contact name flashing across your phone screen to ask you for advice.Â
wonwoo bro, what is this behaviour
Everything that you werenât.
fuck, ok that hurts (i refuse to cry so early)
Others may have tried to rationalize with Wonwoo, but you didnât care. You wanted your friendship with him to turn back to normal. Your adolescent brain ignored that it was wrong to encourage him, as long as he was fully yours again.
ik normally ppl would hate this, so do i. but been there, done that⌠not proud of it
Like a siren to a sailor, your heart sang with deep imagery. Filling your thoughts with illusions of you and Wonwoo finally together. But your mind doesnât let you go without a fight. It knows that beyond the deep waters where your siren-voiced heart lies is nothing but a bottomless pit. The possibilities are endless, and youâd rather stay safely grounded in your boat of rationality.Â
your imagery ???? holy shit, i never thought of the siren metaphor in this way. anna, ur brain >>
âIt's never a problem if itâs you,â he chuckles as you dawdle over to the passenger side of his car.Â
đ§*sighs* pls dont tell me heâs gonna talk like this the entire time. Wtf jeon wonwoo
Watching Wonwoo move to the side as he opens the car door for you. His actions make you blush, and you know youâll think about it for the rest of the night.Â
listen, this is gonna be difficult if he's gonna keep acting like this
His fingers would probably be laced with yours, or rubbing soothingly against your thigh while his other hand gripped the steering wheel. Planting kisses on your cheeks at every red light. It seemed like heaven on the other side. But you knew reality would crush your delusions soon enough.Â
Delulu is the solulu (in fiction)
The only thing that mattered to you was the fact that she was able to bring out Wonwooâs deep laugh. The kind of laugh that only befalls upon your ears when he finds something genuinely funny.
oh here comes the jealousy.
At this point, you werenât sure who to envy, Wonwoo or the girl he was flirting with. You find it unfair that he doesnât realize how greatly he can impact your feelings.Â
asdfghjkl, jealousy is one ugly demon. I hate it
Everything just seemed so unfair, how could you possibly be happy if your feelings for Wonwoo were constantly in the way of it all? Itâs tiring, worrying about him, yearning for him. You could do so many other things with your time, and when you look toward the future, you know that youâll regret how much of your life you wasted loving someone who doesnât love you back.Â
another hit in the gut, it seems so important at that time but looking back, nope.
âHey, look at meââ he grabs your face, gentle as a mouse, rubbing away the tears from your cheeks. âYou are not a burden. We care, thatâs why we worry, and I just want to be there for you.âÂ
đĽşđĽš friends like this >>>
Seokmin is like your favourite childhood blanket, keeping you warm and away from everything that could possibly hurt you. Heâs always willing to hear you rant about things that you know you could never tell Wonwoo.Â
i need a seokmin in my life rn
Jihoon groans as Soonyoung practically breaks out into full song and dance, causing you to sing along with him.
lmao, i love soonyoungÂ
huhu, im so READY for wonwooâs pov
Rejection is foreign to Wonwoo.
I screamed when i saw this, FROM THE TEASER ASDFGHHJKL
He has no control over whether youâre going to text him back or not, and to put it simply, he canât stand that feeling.Â
wow, try being her for a sec, my guy
Sure, maybe Wonwoo is entitled, perhaps heâs conceited and selfish, but he doesnât care.
10 points for self awareness!!
Because in his mind, youâre his best friend.
I folded so fucking fast, im not immune to possessiveness
[wons <3]: saw a bunny running thru the oval today u shouldâve seen it! reminded me of u.Â
i am not immune to jeon wonwoo
The sight of you getting into Seokminâs car made Wonwoo scoff. Since when did you start getting rides home from Seokmin? And why was he the one opening the door for you? Buckling your seatbelt instead of his own? Wonwoo is completely dumbfounded at what he has witnessed.Â
yes yes YES, heâs jellyÂ
Wonwoo initially thought that even if the world ended, you would be there within arms reach, enough to hold you close, where he could keep you safe.
i love his complexity. the most perfectly gray character, like any other human being. I love your characterisation of him so much!!
That hadnât been the case at all, and for the two months that he spent in Changwon, he couldnât help but count the days till he could come back home. Where you had been patiently waiting for him. He despised being away from you, and he had yearned for you every moment he was gone.
Awww, this is cute but knowing howâs he gonna act in the future âŚ.
âYou know, youâre still so skinny for your age. Do your parents not feed you enough?âÂ
i hate these typa relatives ??? like bro LOOK AT URSELF
Faintly recalling how you were planning to stay up late every night to watch BuzzFeed unsolved videos, or until your mom yelled at you to go to bed.Â
AHHH, ANNA U AND ME, WE ARE THE SAME PERSON omg i love buzzfeed unsolved.Â
Wonwoo missed you, and your stupid obsession with horror podcasts and YouTube shows. He missed the way your smile would shine so bright as you talked about all the haunted places the hosts would visit.Â
fuck this reminds me of him. anna, you stalkerÂ
And it was then that Wonwoo realized that he wasnât all that bad-looking, after all.Â
no fuck, everything reminds me of him wtf
He remembers thinking about how soft her hands were, and how pretty she looked with her hair tied up in a messy bun.Â
đ§u have a girl waiting for u back at home but i wont blame him
By the end of summer, Wonwoo started to miss you less and less.
âŚâŚ this hurts
Finally, for the first time in his life, Wonwoo felt serene, and that made him a little more whole than he was when he first landed in Changwon.Â
but i am happy for him. Itâs important to not base ur happiness on someone else !!
On a subconscious level, Wonwoo could not stop comparing Haein to you, and as fucked up as that was, it was completely out of his control.Â
uhâŚ. Wonwoo ??
âIt all makes sense now! Eren had Zeke fooled!âÂ
AOT MENTIONED
âI'm sorry babe, but I gave up after the first episode,â
âŚ. ??? im offendedÂ
He was never able to comprehend why he couldnât keep feelings for anyone after the six-month mark, and it almost frustrated him. Something was missing in every single relationship he had been in, and he wasnât sure what that was. But he was determined to find an answer.Â
⌠yeah i think i know
The answer was you.
There it is
With the amount of near run-ins heâs had with you and Seokmin on campus, heâs begun to sense that itâs some sort of karma. Whatever that karma may be for, he fully believes that itâs completely unwarranted.Â
oh it is warranted, trust me.Â
âServes you right, youâre a dick to her, man.â Mingyu shrugs without any remorse to spare.Â
TELL IT, GIVE IT TO HIM, GYU
âHow blind are you? You have glasses and everything but you canât see how mean you are to her sometimes? Really?â Mingyu almost sounds offended on your behalf as he stares at Wonwoo with an incredulous expression.Â
im hollering lmaooo
Wonwoo is going to throw up. There's a tightness in his chest and a burning sensation behind his eyes.
ok, i feel bad for him.
Not only has he been a terrible friend without realizing it, but heâs pushed you so far to the brink that youâd rather ignore him than attempt to hash out whatâs been troubling you.
poor guy, didnât even realise it.Â
What type of person has Wonwoo become that he resorts to stalking you from the front of your building?
đ idk if i shud laugh im so sorry
That same apologetic attitude died a fiery death after watching Seokmin leave your apartment.Â
nvm, this is so messy and so real
You were fine, and he shouldâve known that the root of all his problems started with the name Lee Seokmin.Â
Bro, just grow a pair and go talk to her instead of coming to conclusions on ur own wtf
The deathly twist in his gut intensifies the more he ponders on what may have happened during Seokminâs visit. Wonwoo desperately wants to stop thinking about the possibilities, especially because your lack of clothing only fueled that inferno inside his mind.Â
wonwoo, arenât you her best friend? her sexual ventures now annoy you, hmmmmmmmm i seeee
Wonwoo yearns for you so much so that it supersedes any part of common sense he has left in him.Â
slow burn, yearning, ah yes the only two things keeping me alive
âThe number you have called is not available, please leave a message at the tone,â an automated voice affirmed his suspicions.Â
đ§âŚ i did not expect her to block him just like that but queen knows her worth !!
âWhat the hell are you doing here?â Both Wonwoo and Seokmin speak in unison.Â
i âŚ.. uhm ⌠this is messy
Minnie. Wonwoo almost threw up in his mouth. Minnie. The nickname is parallel to nails scraping against a chalkboard.Â
i feel bad for him but donât balme her either rahhhhhh
âI could say the same thing for you,â Seokmin mutters, unperturbed, âI didnât have to do anything you know? Just a little push and she fell into my lap, voluntarily.âÂ
HUH?????????? WAIT WHAT. WTF OH NO NO
He was wrong about Seokmin. Even though he had known about his friend's crush on you for years, Wonwoo didnât expect the lengths Seokmin would go to in order to cut him out of the picture.Â
oh âŚ.. oh my god. wtf
He knew you well enough that you wouldnât just block him so carelessly, without a word no less.Â
I KNEW IT
Yet he was no match for Seokmin, not after the fact that you allowed him into your home, your heart, so willingly.Â
Nooooo, wonwoo. i am very shocked by the turn of events
Is this how it feels? To actually care about someone and whether their decisions might affect him later on?Â
damn this alluding to his prev relationships ⌠makes me sick. I mean he didnât know better but still âŚÂ
âDid you fuck him?â Wonwoo cuts to the chase, not leaving any room for you to ask questions.Â
đwtf wonwoo
Wonwoo had no clue, but the thought of his friend-now-enemy defiling you, tasting you, while Wonwoo desperately waited for your call caused him to direct all his anger to you. Perhaps itâs undeserving to do so, but Wonwooâs frustration spoke for him before his brain could even register what he was saying.Â
i get him but boy pls, this is not the way
His urge to self-sabotage overrides his common sense.Â
understandable but stil smh
I fell in love with my best friend, and the worst part was that you didnât care enough to notice.Â
SHE SAID IT, OMG SHE SAID IT
He shouldâve known that you were in front of him this whole damn time.
RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH đŚ
đŚ

prologue.Â
Despite your age, youâve never been in a serious relationship. There was always something holding you back, or rather, someone.Â
In all the years youâve known Wonwoo, youâve always thought maybe one day, he would look at you in a different light. Hoping that he could reciprocate the feelings youâve harboured for him since the eleventh grade.Â
He was the one who constantly moved out of relationships. You couldnât even count the amount of late-night calls where he asked you what his ânext stepâ should be. The doting best friend that you are, youâd gladly stay up all night trying to help him fix his girl problems.Â
âI just, I donât have feelings for her anymore. Is that wrong?â he asked you over the phone.Â
Tossing and turning in your bed you let out a deep sigh. One thing is always guaranteed with Wonwoo: in a relationship, he loses feelings quickly. No matter how much he likes the girl, no matter how obsessed or possessive he feels for them at the beginning of it all, it diminishes by the time the six-month mark hits.Â
Although he may be a great friend to you, relationships were never his strong suit.Â
âItâs not wrong to fall out of love, but how many times are you going to break up with someone before you decide to stay?â you ask him, and he pauses to think.Â
âI donât know, but I canât stay, that would make things worse,â he sighs. âItâs better to just stop this whole thing now.âÂ
âI agree, but are you sure?â you continue to ask him the same questions youâve been asking since you were sixteen.Â
âIâm sure,â he replies with a heavy sigh.Â
âOkay, then goodnight. Itâs almost one in the morning,â you try to cut the call, but he continues to speak.Â
âIâm not the bad guy, right?â he asks you for reassurance.Â
âNo, youâre just human Wonwoo. Thereâs nothing wrong with losing feelings for someone,â you affirmed.Â
âAlright, thank you, good night and sweet dreams,â he whispers listlessly.Â
âGood night, Wonwoo.âÂ
Your phone beeps indicating that heâs hung up and you can feel the heartstrings pull inside your chest. How many times will it take for Wonwoo to find someone he actually wants to be with? And why is it never you?Â
act one, favorite crime.
chapter one.Â
âWait, what? You and Wonwoo arenât dating?â Seungcheol asks you, forcing you into the hot seat.Â
The rest of your friend group is boring holes into your face as they all sit around Jeonghanâs living room. The blood rises in your cheeks, but you shake your head anyway.Â
It feels like every time youâre with your friends, they ask you the same set of questions. Constantly wondering why you and Wonwoo havenât thought about dating, or why you two havenât decided to take the chance and just be together.Â
âYou guys need to stop asking that. A guy can befriend someone of the opposite gender,â Wonwoo defends the two of you.Â
âYouâre telling me in all the years youâve known her, you havenât developed feelings for her once?â Cheol continues to instigate, and your eyes go wide.Â
Looking over at Wonwoo, you anxiously wait for his answer, your chest blooming with hope, only for those buds to be washed away in a millisecond.Â
âNo, câmon, weâre just friends. Thatâs it, right?â Wonwoo turns to you, trying to get you to back him up.Â
Your mouth runs dry as he stares at you, his eyebrows rising in anticipation.Â
âU-uh yeah, Wonwooâs right, weâre just friends,â you blurt out, not being able to handle all the expectant eyes on you all at once.Â
âSee? Now can you all just get off our backs?â he chastises.Â
The chatter starts up again, moving past the topic of you and Wonwooâs friendship. But you sit there, with your heart crushed in your hands, lifeless and shrivelled. Like his words and actions had the power to tear the life out of you. The worst part was that he did all this without knowing. Heâs completely oblivious to your feelings, and you only have yourself to blame.
You understand your relationship with Wonwoo is different from most peopleâs, but at the same time, it should be normal for a girl and a guy to just be friends. And at least you respect Wonwooâs feelings, and you also respect that whenever heâs dating someone the dynamic between you two shifts.Â
He becomes more detached when heâs in a relationship, and youâre okay with that. His priorities change and youâre okay with that. Despite your feelings for him, you know that you canât force him to feel the same way. And you should be okay with that.Â
Youâve never tried to get in the way of his love life, or purposefully give him bad advice to ruin what he has with someone else. Not since you were seventeen, and at that time in your life your frontal lobe was a measly speck of dust, but it's different now. Now, your morals donât change just because you love him, but that doesnât mean it doesnât hurt any less to see the person youâre in love with, fall in love with someone else.Â
two.Â
âHey, you okay?â Seokmin approaches you, and you turn your head, acknowledging his presence.Â
âHuh? Yeah, Iâm alright,â you mutter, but you know you donât look that way.Â
Seokmin has known you since high school and has seen you through everything, probably more than Wonwoo. He knows when youâre not feeling well. A sympathetic permanent on his lips as he continues to observe you play with the food on your plate, pushing around the food aimlessly but never taking a bite.Â
The sounds of people conversing throughout the dining hall never die down. But luckily, the commotion keeps your thoughts of Wonwoo at bay, or at least thatâs what you like to think. But your heart canât seem to let go of that moment from the other day. Having Seungcheol confirm that Wonwoo has never felt anything romantically for you was like a stab in the stomach, and him getting you to back up his words was just him twisting the knife.Â
âWhatâs the matter, sweetheart? You can tell me,â he sighs, pushing the hair covering your face and placing it behind your ear.Â
You can feel the tears start to pool, but you try your damndest not to let them spillânot like this, not in front of so many people.Â
âIt was just something Wonwoo said when we were all at Hannieâs house,â you mumble, refusing to make eye contact with your friend.Â
âWhat did he say?âÂ
âThat heâs never liked me before,â you sigh, feeling a tear slip from your eye.Â
Cursing yourself in your head, you hate how much your feelings for him affect you. You hate how he doesnât have to even be in front of you, yet he can still cause your emotions to fluctuate.Â
âItâs alright,â he coos, pulling you into his strong arms.Â
It felt weird, to hug Seokmin so tightly in the middle of your universityâs dining hall. But youâre thankful for how aware he is, how he actually cares about your feelings. You felt melodramatic sitting there crying in the fucking dining hall of all places, but you couldnât help but let your tears flow as Seokmin comforts you with his soft voice.Â
âYou deserve more than this, I hope you know that,â he whispers in your ear.
three.Â
Over the next few days, the words Seokmin had whispered to you kept replaying in your head. You did deserve better and looking at all of Wonwooâs past relationships is the perfect example. Heâs not exactly the ideal boyfriend, so why did you even have feelings for him in the first place?
You could feel a migraine coming on from how hard you were thinking, but Wonwoo still seems to be the only person you canât let go of. No matter how many times youâve tried.Â
A knock on your door brings you out of your thoughts. It was late, and you donât remember anyone messaging you saying that they were going to come over, but you open the door anyway.Â
âHey, sorry I didnât text,â Wonwoo moves past you, takes his shoes off, and plops on your couch.Â
âItâs okay, whatâs up?â you move to sit beside him.Â
âI broke up with her,â He says, shrugging.Â
Taken aback by his nonchalance, your eyes widen. He seems calm for someone who has just broken up with his girlfriend. But you try not to think too hard about it, or you might just have to take another Advil to remedy your already growing headache.Â
âWell, how did it go?â you ask with a bit of apprehension.Â
Knowing Wonwoo, you knew that he probably just dumped her over the phone or something. Heâs never been bothered to really break up with someone.Â
You have all these examples of why he would probably be the worst boyfriend ever, yet your heart still belongs to him. Itâs pitiful, to say the least, people probably would think that youâre a masochist because you subject yourself to staying by his side when he has feelings for another.Â
âShe was crying, but at least itâs over now,â Wonwoo informs you as he eats the snacks you had left on your coffee table.Â
âOh.â You could feel the guilt start to seep into your veins.Â
It never felt good to hear Wonwoo talk about his breakups, but youâre not sure how to react. Thereâs a part of you thatâs happy to know that heâs single again, but the majority of you pities the girl who had just gotten her heart broken.Â
Wonwoo continues to munch on the snacks left on your table while your mind tries to process the information youâve been given. Hearing him talk so casually about his breakup leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, but you decide to switch topics instead of asking any more questions.Â
âAre you still going to Seokminâs thing this weekend, though?â you ask him, trying to fill the air with something to drown out your rapid heartbeats.Â
He shrugs his shoulders, âIf I feel like it. Are you?âÂ
The bottom of your stomach tightens. You were hoping that he would go, even looking forward to it. Is that pathetic? To want to see him everywhere you go? Maybe you were pathetic to the point where you only felt like hanging out with your friends if he was there.Â
âI mean, I donât have a ride soâŚâ you trail off, pretending to pay attention to whatever was playing on the T.V. screen.Â
âIâll go since youâre going, that way you have a ride,â he mumbles, adjusting his posture to lean back on your couch.Â
He sighs as he sinks into the plush cushions, spreading his legs while he puts his arms up. Youâre very aware of his proximity, and you try not to let it show. But the smell of his cologne invades your senses, knocking the breath out of your chest.Â
Wonwooâs arm circles your shoulder, pulling you closer to him and forcing your head to rest delicately on his broad shoulder. Exhaling, you let yourself enjoy his way of showing affection. Although to him it means nothing, and to you, quite literally everything.Â
âThank you for agreeing to go to Seokminâs so I have a ride,â you whisper but still avoid eye contact so he doesnât notice your flustered expression.Â
âThank you for letting me barge in here just so I can talk about my breakup,â he whispers back, kissing the top of your head.Â
âOf course, what are best friends for?âÂ
four.Â
Most people fall in love gradually, slowly growing feelings for the person before they can even call it love. Like the way the seasons steadily turned from winter to spring. Green grass peeking from underneath the melting snow, or flowers gently blooming and unravelling their new set of stems and petals. For you, it was different.
Falling in love with Wonwoo wasnât gradual at all.Â
If anything, falling in love with Wonwoo felt like a snowstorm in the middle of a sunny day. Your affection for him grew rapidly, and before you knew it, your mind was clouded with him and him only. It became hard to stay rational as if you were driving down a snow-filled road without any control over the steering wheel. Swerving into different lanes, your brakes malfunction, making it hard to bring your car to a full stop. Falling in love with Wonwoo was not gradual or easy.
When you met him on the first day of your junior year of high school, your sixteen-year-old brain couldnât fully comprehend your crush on him. He was the shy, scrawny new kid in your class, and no one paid mind to him except you. But that didnât stop you from liking him. Despite his interest in collecting pokĂŠmon cards and his crooked glasses that were too big for his face, you were in love.Â
You were like two peas in a pod that whole year, and the only time you and Wonwoo spent time apart was when he had to leave during summer break to visit family in Korea.Â
When he returned for your senior year, you could barely recognize him. Suddenly the nerdy Wonwoo you knew was gone. His glasses complimented his face, his hair was styled differently, and most of all, he got hot. A lot of your classmates mustâve seemed to agree because now your best friend and the man youâre in love with gained attention from people who didnât even bat an eyelash at him last year.Â
It annoyed you to see all these people suddenly interested in him. You were angry that just because he grew a few inches and learned to do his hair didnât mean he was that much different from how he was last year.Â
Even though Wonwoo was in a relationship, he still stayed true to your friendship. He still hung out with you, ate lunch with you, you even came over on weekends to have dinner with his family. Day by day, your love for him strengthened, and you ignored that his attention had been divided between you and his girlfriend at the time.Â
When their relationship hit three months, it seemed your friendship had come to an abrupt halt. He didnât invite you for dinner as often, you two didnât talk on the phone every other night. He started to invest more of his time into her until he decided she wasnât worth his energy anymore. Then the calls would come, his contact name flashing across your phone screen to ask you for advice.Â
âI feel like I need to break up with Haein,â his deep voice flowed through your phone speaker. A sigh left his lips as he faced the truth.Â
Haein was Wonwooâs first girlfriend. She was nice, almost too nice. Wonwoo definitely had a type for girls with a bubbly personality. Ones that were effortlessly beautiful, reminiscent of a freshly made porcelain doll. That was Haein to you, unblemished in every way possible. Everything that you werenât.
You couldnât bring yourself to hate her. She was too nice to hate, but your younger self was so angry at how much of Wonwoo's time she took up that you envied her. Seokmin once jokingly mentioned that you looked especially green when she was around, and you remember how quickly you checked your appearance on the nearest reflective surface because of what he had said in passing. You remember vividly how nervous his words made you, was it that obvious?
Wonwooâs first time calling you about his breakup plans was a delightful surprise, and you were too in shock to sputter out a proper response.
âOh. Why?â was all you could say, still stunned that after a week of no contact, this was the first thing he said.Â
ââDunno, I just donât like her anymore,â he admitted effortlessly.Â
You didnât know how to respond. Your heart was screaming at you to encourage him to break up with his girlfriend at the time, while your brain was telling you to think logically.Â
âWell, if thatâs what you think is right,â you mumbled, trying to hide the fact that you felt a sense of relief at Wonwoo potentially being single again.Â
Others may have tried to rationalize with Wonwoo, but you didnât care. You wanted your friendship with him to turn back to normal. Your adolescent brain ignored that it was wrong to encourage him, as long as he was fully yours again.
History repeated itself over and over, and the older you got, you learnt to not be so selfish with his attention. Mostly out of guilt for the person he was going to break up with, but also because you didnât want Wonwoo to realize your true feelings.Â
Although being in love with Wonwoo was brutal, you constantly wished that things were different between you two, but they werenât. Heâs never seen you as more than a friend, and as your friendship with him progressed, you had begun to learn to mask your romantic feelings for platonic ones.Â
five.Â
By the time you entered university, you had mastered the art of pretending. As if your feelings for Wonwoo didnât exist. You are quite meticulous in ensuring that he never realizes that you are profoundly in love with him. The mere thought of him finding out how you truly felt frightened you.Â
Youâve already envisioned countless scenarios on how it could go. The idea of being rejected by the one you love most. It would change everything about your friendship with him. The look of pity in his eyes, the apologies that would spill out of his mouth. You can't bear even the thought of rejection. Not from him.Â
Two voices are constantly at war inside your mind. Your brain, acting as the voice of reason, constantly reminds you that itâs better to preserve your friendship. To keep the dynamic youâve always had with Wonwoo guarded where it could last, thrive. While your heart persuaded you with deluded, fake scenarios.Â
âWhat if he likes you back?âÂ
âYou never know until you try.âÂ
âTake the risk or lose the chance.âÂ
What if.Â
Like a siren to a sailor, your heart sang with deep imagery. Filling your thoughts with illusions of you and Wonwoo finally together. But your mind doesnât let you go without a fight. It knows that beyond the deep waters where your siren-voiced heart lies is nothing but a bottomless pit.Â
The possibilities are endless, and youâd rather stay safely grounded in your boat of rationality.Â
A notification brings you out of your thoughts. Although you already knew that it was Wonwoo, you scramble to pick up your phone. Thereâs excitement laced in your veins as you look down at the screen.Â
7:06 p.m. [wons <3]: be there in 5.Â
There was no reason for you to be so ecstatic but you couldnât help it. He had already texted you prior, notifying you that he was leaving his place to come pick you up, and yet every time your phone buzzes, you still hope that itâs something completely different. But that was your heart talking; you knew that it wouldnât be anything out of the ordinary.Â
Everyone had planned to meet at Seokminâs place today, just to have one last celebration before midterms began again. You had happily agreed, enthusiastic that you could spend more time with Wonwoo, although it wouldnât be a one-on-one thing. You were more than elated to see him while also being able to hang out with the rest of your friends.Â
Throwing your phone back on the bed, you change into an outfit that is both cute and comfortable. There wasnât a reason to dress up when the vibe at Seokminâs was just going to be sitting around his living room, drinking cocktails and eating pizza.Â
Wonwoo texts you once more to let you know heâs outside, causing you to race down to meet him. A lump in your throat arises, as he comes into your field of vision, appreciating how breathtakingly handsome he is.Â
The chilled breeze brushes through the strands of his hair, glasses perched on his tall nose. He looked amazing, just like he always had, but you never get bored of admiring him. Even if itâs just from afar.Â
âHi! Sorry if I kept you waiting,â your voice resounds into the night.Â
âIt's never a problem if itâs you,â he chuckles as you dawdle over to the passenger side of his car.Â
Trying not to read too deep into his words, you snort at his cheesy line instead of giving a response. Watching Wonwoo move to the side as he opens the car door for you. His actions make you blush, and you know youâll think about it for the rest of the night.Â
âAre you ready to go?â he asks, smiling at you.Â
The ride to Seokminâs house is fairly quiet, the sounds of music filling the silence instead. Your thoughts are overflowing with scenarios once again, wondering how different the car ride would be if you and Wonwoo were in a relationship. His fingers would probably be laced with yours, or rubbing soothingly against your thigh while his other hand gripped the steering wheel. Planting kisses on your cheeks at every red light. It seemed like heaven on the other side. But you knew reality would crush your delusions soon enough.Â
âŚ
The clock on Seokminâs pale white wall is nearing midnight and you donât want to be here anymore. Not when the only thing you could focus on was Wonwoo flirting with a girl whose name you didnât catch. Sheâs Joshuaâs childhood friend and he only brought her along because sheâs visiting from out of town. Whoever she was, it didnât matter. The only thing that mattered to you was the fact that she was able to bring out Wonwooâs deep laugh. The kind of laugh that only befalls upon your ears when he finds something genuinely funny.
The ugly swirl of jealousy sits in the pit of your stomach and you couldn't help but scoff at your wretched situation. It made you sick watching them, and you could throw up any minute now. At this point, you werenât sure who to envy, Wonwoo or the girl he was flirting with. You find it unfair that he doesnât realize how greatly he can impact your feelings.Â
Just a few hours ago, you were in utter bliss. Sitting in the front seat of his car, listening to the music softly playing on the ride to Seokminâs apartment. Making stupid jokes and pointing out the random sights that you had seen while driving down the bustling city streets. You envy how easy it is for Wonwoo to make all those feelings of delight vanish. And he doesnât even know. He doesnât know what heâs doing to you, and thatâs what hurts the most.Â
âYou doing okay?â Seokmin comes up to you, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder, squeezing it affectionately.Â
âHuh? Oh. Yeah Iâm okay,â you chuckle, but thereâs nothing humorous about your laugh at all.Â
His eyes soften, he knows that youâre not okay. Seokmin always knew. After all these years, he can tell when youâre trying to save face. Thereâs a lump in your throat, and if you didnât have a drink to sip on to distract you, you probably wouldâve gone to the bathroom to cry.Â
âYou wanna talk in my room?â he offers, and youâre grateful.Â
Seokmin knew he had to get you somewhere other than the living room. You were practically torturing yourself, sitting on the couch and watching Wonwoo talk to everyone but you.Â
Instead of agreeing vocally, you nod your head before standing up to follow Seokmin to his room. The door shuts softly, muffling the sounds of laughter and allowing your uneasiness to finally subside.Â
As you sit on Seokminâs bed, you feel the tears starting to trickle down your cheeks. It feels pathetic, crying over something so trivial. Why does it have to be you who feels this way? Why canât you just be a normal friend and see Wonwoo in a platonic light? The whole world could turn upside and heâd be the first person you search for.Â
Everything just seemed so unfair, how could you possibly be happy if your feelings for Wonwoo were constantly in the way of it all? Itâs tiring, worrying about him, yearning for him. You could do so many other things with your time, and when you look toward the future, you know that youâll regret how much of your life you wasted loving someone who doesnât love you back.Â
âItâs okay, just let it out,â Seokmin whispers in your ear, embracing you in a tight hug.Â
Crying felt good. You rarely cry over your situation despite how upsetting it is. For the first time in a while, you allowed yourself to finally indulge in your sadness and let go of everything you were too afraid to say or feel. Â
âI know it sucks right now, but honestly, it might be time to get over him,â Seokmin continues to comfort you while trying to help you face the reality of your situation. âYouâre so hurt, and itâs taking a toll on you. Please, I canât bear to see you so sad.âÂ
His words hit you hard because you know it's true. But all you can do is apologize. Saying sorry for feeling this way, even though itâs not your fault, you cannot control your feelings, you still apologize. To Seokmin, to your friends, but also yourself.Â
âI-Iâm sorry,â you hiccup, tears staining Seokminâs white shirt.Â
âWhy are you sorry? You did nothing wrong,â he mutters, his large hand patting your head, trying to soothe your fit of emotions.Â
âBecause, if I was normal, you wouldnât have to worry about me, about why Iâm always upset, you and the others, my feelings are burdening all of you,â you continue to weep softly in his arms, gripping onto his shoulders as his hands encircle your waist.Â
âHey, look at meââ he grabs your face, gentle as a mouse, rubbing away the tears from your cheeks. âYou are not a burden. We care, thatâs why we worry, and I just want to be there for you.âÂ
âThank you, Seokmin. Iâm so happy that I have someone like you in my life,â you pull him into a hug again, knocking the air out of his chest, but heâs still somehow able to hug you even tighter.Â
Seokmin is like your favourite childhood blanket, keeping you warm and away from everything that could possibly hurt you. Heâs always willing to hear you rant about things that you know you could never tell Wonwoo.Â
âIâm so tired, Iâm tired of feeling like this,â you admit to him.Â
Running his hands through your hair, he gives you a reassuring smile.Â
âMaybe itâs time to distance yourself from him a bit, you two have been glued to the hip for so long. Maybe that distance can help organize your feelings better,â he mutters, catching the stray tears that pool at your chin, and wiping them away for you.Â
âI want to feel better,â you agree with him, still trying to recover from how hard you were sobbing into his chest.Â
âI care about you, okay? We all do. Wonwoo cares about you, too, but thereâs a point where youâll have to be okay with whatever outcome happens if you decide to tell him how you feel. Or you just have to find a way to get over him,â he speaks softly, trying not to crush your heart with reality, but you know heâs right. âIn the Future, you will thank yourself for making whatever decision you have to make, but trust me, holding all these feelings in wonât do you any good.â He ends his pep talk there, and you sigh, trying to process everything he said.Â
âThank you, Minnie, Iâm so thankful I have you,â you sniffled.Â
âAnd I you.âÂ
âŚ
Seokmin explained to Soonyoung and Jihoon that you needed to go home after your talk in his bedroom. They were more than happy to take you along with them before heading back to their place, not wanting to force you into a car with Wonwoo at the end of the night.Â
âOf course, itâs really no trouble at all,â Soonyoung reassures you after you had asked about a million times if it was okay to ride home with them.Â
The car ride is drastically different from the one you had taken on the way to Seokminâs, Soonyoung being the number one reason why. Heâs not the best at reading the room, although Jihoon is constantly telling him to shut up. He knows you are upset over something, but Soonyoungâs way of cheering you up is getting you to laugh. While Jihoon believed that you may want a more peaceful environment after everything that happened.Â
As Jihoon drove, Soonyoung sang along with the lyrics of the current song playing. Loud enough for anyone outside the car to hear him. You could tell he was a bit tipsy after the few beers he had earlier, but you didnât mind the noise. Jihoon begged to differ.Â
âSoon, can you tone it down? Please. People are looking at us,â Jihoon grumbles, trying to focus on the road ahead.Â
âBut you love it when I sing,â Soonyoung whines, and you canât help but laugh.Â
âI do, but our friend has had a long night,â Jihoon counters.Â
Soonyoung turns to face you from the passenger seat. âIf you want me to be quiet, I will.âÂ
âNo, itâs okay, Iâm actually enjoying it, thank you very much,â you giggle, and that was all the confirmation he needed, going back to his antics.Â
Jihoon groans as Soonyoung practically breaks out into full song and dance, causing you to sing along with him. This distraction from all the conflicting thoughts gives you a refuge from the war inside your mind. Â
The whole way back to your place was filled with singing and laughter, allowing you to finally feel at ease for once. Albeit Jihoon pretended to act annoyed the whole time, you knew he secretly loved how Soonyoung tried to bring the mood back up to help you.Â
Once you got home, you thanked the two before bidding them farewell. Apprehension flowed throughout you, and you didn't want to be alone with your thoughts after being around someone as cheerful as Soonyoung. But you didnât know where else to go or what else to do.
Laying in your bed, you think about how today went from beginning to end, and youâre scared of what will happen in the future. Sighing to yourself, you allow yourself to at least get some rest instead of staying up all night thinking about the possibilities of tomorrow. Turning your phone on "do not disturb," the stillness in your apartment lulls you to sleep.Â
1:09 a.m. [wons <3]: seokmin said u went home early? u ok?Â
ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?
chapter one.Â
Wonwooâs ride home was sombre, yet desolate. Your absence from his passenger seat irked him. Street lights whisk by his vision in a blur, but heâs too lost in his thoughts as he drives on autopilot, wondering why you went home so early. You didnât even say goodbye. Itâs the first time you went home from Seokminâs place without him.Â
By the time he got home, his curiosity had started to claw at him, but he didnât want to be irrational and assume the worst. So he texted you, hoping that there would be an explanation awaiting him in the morning.Â
Not a single notification from you came that very next morning. No matter how many times his phone went off, no matter how many notifications popped up from his screen. None of them were you. Morning turned to afternoon, and afternoon slowly turned into night. Still nothing.Â
He feels dejected. Everything seemed to be going okay just last night. That was until you abruptly left without telling him you were going home. What changed? Why did it feel like there was a shift between you two?Â
Rejection is foreign to Wonwoo. Most times, itâs him thatâs doing the rejecting. He was the one to always initiate the breakup and lose feelings first; every decision he made was made by him. He has no control over whether youâre going to text him back or not, and to put it simply, he canât stand that feeling.Â
Wonwoo hates not being in control. Whether that be his future, his relationships, and especially his feelings. At least thatâs what he forces himself to believe. That itâs not fair of you to ignore him when heâs worried about you, because heâs your best friend. You should answer him when he texts you. When he calls you, and especially when he shows up at your door, seeking your comfort. In his mind, that is what he believes the foundation of your friendship is. To comfort each other, just like it always has been.Â
Sure, maybe Wonwoo is entitled, perhaps heâs conceited and selfish, but he doesnât care. Because in his mind, youâre his best friend. There was no way in hell that you were ignoring him. His ego doesnât even consider it a possibility. You were busy, thatâs it. That has to be it.Â
âŚÂ
Less than forty-eight hours in, Wonwoo couldnât stop himself from texting you once more. Nimble fingers practically itching to open your contact to update you about the most mundane things. Maybe if he pretended that this moment of silence was perfectly normal, then maybe you would eventually end up answering him.Â
12:36 p.m [wons <3]: class just finished. lunch at our usual place?
Nothing. Not even a thumbâs up reaction. Wonwoo had become antsy, guilt and slight annoyance gnawing at the pit of his stomach. Where the hell are you? What are you doing thatâs so important that you couldnât even open his message let alone read them?Â
1:27 p.m. [wons <3]: this random girl asked for my number after class lol. weird right? i didnât give it to her though đ
Cursing at himself, he regrets pressing the send button on that text. Double texting you is already out of the norm for him, but triple texting? He canât believe how desperate he looks right now. He wishes he could bring himself to unsend it, but he just hopes itâll be the text that finally gets you to respond.Â
2:10 p.m. [wons <3]: saw a bunny running thru the oval today u shouldâve seen it! reminded me of u. [1 photo attachment]Â
Absolute radio silence from your end. Wonwoo is starting to think that you had him blocked, but his messages are still delivering. Unsure of whatâs worse, you ignoring him or blocking his number, Wonwoo still tries his best to remain calm.
4:00 p.m. [wons <3]: im about to head home soon. r u riding w me today?Â
The sight of you getting into Seokminâs car made Wonwoo scoff. Since when did you start getting rides home from Seokmin? And why was he the one opening the door for you? Buckling your seatbelt instead of his own? Wonwoo is completely dumbfounded at what he has witnessed.Â
4:30 p.m. [wons <3]: saw u get into seokminâs car, lmk if u need a ride tmrw.Â
Seeing you laugh and smile while walking to the student parking lot with Seokmin, of all people, solidified the fact that you are actively ignoring his texts. And he just canât stand the thought of it. How dare he be ignored? Especially by his best friend, the one person who had always responded to him, no matter the time or how busy you were, you always texted him back.Â
Wonwoo initially thought that even if the world ended, you would be there within arms reach, enough to hold you close, where he could keep you safe. You were predictable in that sense. But if the world decided to burst into flames, or swallow itself whole tomorrow, heâs unsure if you would be there right next to him by the time he woke up.Â
two, wonwooâs summer before senior year.Â
The school year flew by with the speed of light. And before Wonwoo knew it, he was home back in Korea for the summer. The dreaded fifteen-hour plane ride over was excruciating. There was an ache in his lower back, and his knees felt like they were being struck by a hammer with every step he took. But at least the worst part was over.Â
Sixteen-year-old Wonwoo was quite naive, thinking that heâd be welcomed into his home country with loving arms. That hadnât been the case at all, and for the two months that he spent in Changwon, he couldnât help but count the days till he could come back home. Where you had been patiently waiting for him.Â
He despised being away from you, and he had yearned for you every moment he was gone. With you by his side, Wonwoo had finally understood the true meaning of solace, a peace of mind that couldnât be replicated. Not even the fresh air that breezed through his fingers or the scent of the salty water misting its way onto the shore of his hometown could outweigh the feeling of tranquillity that he got when he was with you.
Every year that Wonwoo was dragged back to Korea by his parents was excruciating. Especially because he had a certain distaste for his relatives. Maybe it was disrespectful to loathe them the way he did, but he couldnât care less. Their scathing comments would flow out of their mouths just to pierce daggers of judgement into his back. To insult Wonwoo was second nature to his aunts, and he couldnât do much but sit back and listen. Â
Much to his dismay, his parents hadnât even bothered to book an Airbnb for their stay, informing him and his brother that they would be staying with his aunt. He couldnât stand his aunt Seo-Ah in particular, and he swore the feeling was mutual. Unsure of why he had to withstand her crude remarks in front of his family without much protest, he forced himself not to dish out rude rebuttals to everything she had to say.Â
There was a time when Wonwoo tried to reason with himself on why his aunt was filled with so much bitterness, but he gave up on that long ago. He was about to be seventeen now, and he couldnât bring himself to empathize with the older lady anymore.Â
âWonwoo! Youâre all grown up now, and I canât believe it,â Seo-Ah forced him into a bone-crushing hug as he tried his best not to push her off of him. She pulled back to take a closer look at him and he could already see the scrutinizing gleam in her eyes, âYou know, youâre still so skinny for your age. Do your parents not feed you enough?âÂ
Wonwoo wanted to scoff at her, but he kept a neutral expression.Â
âNo they do, I donât know maybe itâs my fast metabolism or something,â he refuted her claims. He couldnât wait to get out of her sight.Â
âYou know, maybe you should start going to the gym, get some muscle on you or something,â she patted his lanky arm and laughed that dreadful laugh. The ones that have no real humour behind it, just to cover up the obvious dig she took at his appearance.Â
âYeah maybe,â he dismisses her to head into the house. Setting his luggage down to check whether or not youâve texted him yet.Â
It was about five in the evening in Changwon, but he knew you wouldnât be asleep. Faintly recalling how you were planning to stay up late every night to watch BuzzFeed unsolved videos, or until your mom yelled at you to go to bed.Â
[4:15 p.m. kst] [you: i stayed up all night watching buzzfeed unsolved] [you: im going crazy i keep getting paranoid to the point iâve turned all my mirrors backwards] [you: hope ur flight was ok tho!!! đŤś]
He chuckled to himself, remembering your wide eyes and elaborate plan to sneak snacks into your room in the early hours of the morning behind your parentsâ backs. Wonwoo missed you, and your stupid obsession with horror podcasts and YouTube shows. He missed the way your smile would shine so bright as you talked about all the haunted places the hosts would visit.Â
Wonwoo did not care for horror or anything scary, but if you were to ask him to stay up all night on Facetime binge-watching your little Buzzfeed videos, he would do so in a heartbeat.Â
Two days down, about another 89 to go, Wonwoo thought to himself as he looked through your messages with him. You had already spammed the chat mercilessly about your first two days of summer break, and your intricate mission to stay up without accidentally falling asleep in the middle of it all.Â
[6:00 p.m. kst] [1 photo attachment] [you: currently trying to sneak snacks into my room without my mom knowing] [you: u better not snitch đž] [you: its so boring w out u here btw SO COME BACK SOON PLSS] [you: ok thats enuffâŚtxt me when u land!]
Wonwoo really missed you.Â
âŚ
One more week and Wonwoo would finally get to see you again. The ability to talk to you in person, hug you, and spend time with you gave him something to look forward to, and thankfully, summer break went by fast because of it.Â
He had spent most of his time in Korea eating at local food spots, going to the gym, and trying a lot of new things with his brother, Seongho, giving them time to bond before he went off to University again. Wonwoo had missed his brother dearly during the school year, but at least they were able to pass the time together during summer break.Â
It was initially his brotherâs convincing that got him to go to the gym for the very first time. The idea of going to a place with a lot of sweaty, adrenaline-filled people kind of frightened him, but the more he went, the more he started to like what he saw in the mirror. Wonwooâs shoulders had broadened, and his lanky arms finally started to show signs of muscles. He was satisfied in knowing that all of his hard work, and Seonghoâs encouragement had finally paid off.Â
Seongho told him he looked a lot more carefree now that he wasnât so worried about his appearance all the time. And it was then that Wonwoo realized that he wasnât all that bad-looking, after all.Â
Wonwoo had begun to take pride in his vanity. He searched for different ways to style his hair, bought glasses that better suited his face shape, and, most of all, did his best to act more confidently. The sudden change made him wonder how you would react. He had been anticipating your reaction, wanting to see the look on your face once he returned home.Â
âYou got it. Just one more rep, and we can switch,â Seongho encouraged Wonwoo as he tried to push the bar up from his chest.Â
His muscles were aching in the most addictive and satisfying way. He almost wished he had started working out earlier because only good things seemed to have come ever since he stepped foot into the gym.Â
âOkay! Youâre done, that was good,â his older brother high-fived him, a proud smile dancing along his lips.Â
âThanks, but my arms feel like jelly now,â he huffed a chuckle before gulping down the contents of his water bottle.Â
Seongho chuckled along with him before setting himself down on the workout bench. His actions faltered, and he slowly observed the mirror in front of him, raising his eyebrows in amusement.Â
âUh, donât look now, but I think that girl is staring at you,â Seongho tilted his head in the girlâs direction and Wonwoo couldnât be more confused.Â
âHuh? Are you sure it's me theyâre looking at and not you?âÂ
âIâm serious! You should go talk to her,â Seongho grinned, pushing his younger brother in the direction of the girl who was supposedly eyeing Wonwoo.Â
âHyung!â Wonwoo calls out but it falls on deaf ears as his older brother begins his bench presses.Â
Wonwoo turns towards the girl in the most awkward way humanly possible. He was completely dumbfounded and not sure what to do in the situation heâd been put in. The girl who was staring at him waved flirtatiously, and before he could even think about his next move, his feet had begun to move on their own accord.Â
âHi, I saw you working out over there, are you new here?â she asked him, batting her eyelashes.Â
âUhm, I guess? Iâm only here for the summer though,â he spoke with apprehension, because what the hell was he even supposed to say?Â
âOh! Me too. My name is Haein, by the way.â Haeinâs smile reached her eyes as she giggled, and her hand extended to shake Wonwooâs.Â
Wonwooâs actions were practically robotic, rubbing his sweaty palms on his gym shorts before taking her hand in his. He remembers thinking about how soft her hands were, and how pretty she looked with her hair tied up in a messy bun.Â
âIâm Wonwoo.âÂ
âWonwoo, hmm, thatâs a cute name. But I think I would like it more in my contacts,â she flirted shamelessly, her fingers squeezing his sweaty bicep.Â
Wonwooâs mind short-circuited, and he took out his phone from his pocket so fast it almost slipped out of his grasp. Haein found it endearing though, and happily gave him her phone number.Â
They talked for the rest of Wonwoo's time at the gym and promised to hang out more before they both went home at the end of the summer.Â
To put it simply, Wonwoo was on cloud nine for the first time since heâs been here. Suddenly his aunt Seo-Ahâs words werenât so hurtful, his confidence had skyrocketed, plus he had a beautiful girl to talk to for the rest of his vacation.Â
By the end of summer, Wonwoo started to miss you less and less. Even though he still saw you as his best friend, he began to find peace in other things, like the fresh air that breezed through his fingers or the scent of the salty water misting its way onto the shore of his hometown. Finally, for the first time in his life, Wonwoo felt serene, and that made him a little more whole than he was when he first landed in Changwon.Â
âŚ
The after-effects of Wonwooâs surprisingly pleasant summer vacation hadnât worn off just yet. The gift of Haein appearing in his life seemed to just keep on giving. Not only did she live overseas, she had told him that she was actually from the same city as him. It was a little hard to believe at first as if he was the main character in a cheesy rom-com, but he couldnât find it in him to complain. Haein made him feel wanted, excited, and cared for.Â
Wonwoo wasnât entirely devoid of those feelings, especially with you as his best friend, but it was different coming from Haein. Every time he saw her, he felt like he was going to throw up, in a good way of course, but she also boosted his confidence. He liked that she made him feel like he was a man worth depending on.Â
Haein was his first real relationship, and although he was still young, he could see himself being with her for a long time.Â
âŚ
Quite like the seasons, Wonwooâs feelings for Haein changed drastically by the time school was back in session. Although he and Haein lived in the same city, there was a lot more than just distance that separated them.Â
Six months into their relationship, Wonwoo began to doubt himself. He was less eager to meet her or even text her. He could only blame himself for how things turned out with Haein. Despite his adolescence, he believed he loved her; he just got tired and disinterested.Â
On a subconscious level, Wonwoo could not stop comparing Haein to you, and as fucked up as that was, it was completely out of his control. Why didnât Haein ever want to talk about what Wonwoo was interested in? Why did she seem bored out of her mind when he would delve into his theories about his favourite shows? Or anything about himself and what he liked. As though she didnât see him for the Wonwoo he was, the personality he had behind his looks.Â
âIt all makes sense now! Eren had Zeke fooled!â Wonwoo couldnât contain his excitement about the newest episode, but Haein didnât seem interested in hearing her boyfriend geek out.Â
âI'm sorry babe, but I gave up after the first episode,â Haein sighed into the phone, and if Wonwoo could guess, she was probably picking at her cuticles out of boredom. âI just didnât get anything that was happening.âÂ
âWait, really?â He was a little offended, how could she not be obsessing over the beautiful intricacies of his favourite anime? Wonwoo didnât understand.Â
He didnât understand because when he introduced you to the show, you texted him the next day saying you were caught up to where he had left off. It amazed Wonwoo how fast you were at binge-watching shows, especially because he had told you about it on a weekday.Â
You came into school the morning after with dark circles under your eyes, but even with that tired look on your face, you ran up to him with so much eagerness while thanking him for urging you to watch his favourite show. You two were obsessed and never missed out on watching the weekly episodes together. It had become you and Wonwooâs thing, and even though he wanted Haein to join in on the fun, he found himself more entertained by your theories than by talking on the phone with his girlfriend.Â
It dawned on him that he wished that Haein acted a little more like you. And it made him feel guilty. He knew he shouldâve loved Haein no matter her interests, but he wanted someone who could understand his nerdy side. And that was only something that you were able to do.Â
âHonestly, Iâm really tired, Iâm gonna go to bed now okay?â Haeinâs voice brought Wonwoo out of his thoughts.Â
âOh okay. Night.â He said before ending the call so quickly that Haeinâs âI love youâ was cut off mid-sentence.Â
Haein probably had thought he had forgotten, but Wonwoo just didnât want to say those words if he didnât mean it. He had grown annoyed, and a little bored of practically talking to a wall all night. Â
Comparable to the light switching off in his bedroom, he decided to do the same thing with Haein. He pushed his guilt aside and decided it was probably best to leave Haein and Changwon in the past. The memories of his last week of summer with her would become something he would look back on in the future and smile. But he didnât want to pretend any longer, it wouldâve just hurt her more if he stayed, he couldnât help that he fell out of love with her. The least he could do was not lead her on.Â
Wonwooâs relationship with Haein was merely a catalyst and a peek into what the rest of his relationships were going to look like in adulthood. He was never able to comprehend why he couldnât keep feelings for anyone after the six-month mark, and it almost frustrated him. Something was missing in every single relationship he had been in, and he wasnât sure what that was. But he was determined to find an answer.Â
three, present time.
The answer was you. But of course, Wonwoo didnât know that.Â
âAre you gonna keep checking your phone every five minutes or are you gonna do your homework?â Mingyu lectures him.Â
The two were studying in the library before their stats midterm, but Wonwooâs mind couldnât help but wonder. He hasnât been acting like himself since the night of Seokminâs party.Â
âOh, right.â Wonwoo clears his throat, putting his phone face down on the table.Â
Wonwoo drags his palms against his face, trying to not let sleep overtake him. It is not his fault that every time he tries to close his eyes, your face comes into his mind. The memory of you smiling with Seokmin made his insides twist. He hasnât seen you smile that hard in a while, and he almost misses how your eyes crinkle whenever you do so. You were practically haunting him and he had no idea how to make it stop.Â
âNot to be rude, but youâve been looking like shit lately. Whatâs wrong?â Mingyu questions him with furrowed eyebrows.Â
Wonwoo rolls his eyes at his friend, he didnât have to be insulted to know how crappy he looked, but Mingyu seemed to only be telling the truth. Wonwoo did look and feel like shit. With the amount of near run-ins heâs had with you and Seokmin on campus, heâs begun to sense that itâs some sort of karma. Whatever that karma may be for, he fully believes that itâs completely unwarranted.Â
Forcing a hand through his dark locks, Wonwoo contemplates whether or not he should just go up to you in person and demand answers. Itâs uncommon for the two of you to fight, or ignore each other for that matter. But he canât help but presume that if he were to confront you about your silence, there would be no rightful explanation. Or at least not the explanation that he wants from you.Â
Every time he even fathoms the thought of barging into your apartment and asking what the hell is wrong, thereâs a lingering nervousness that he wishes would dissipate, leading him to lay awake with his thoughts for hours on end.Â
âThanks for that, asshole, I just havenât been getting much sleep,â Wonwoo huffs.Â
âOkay, obviously. You practically look like a zombie with the way youâve been moping around. What has been keeping you up?â Mingyu presses.Â
Itâs not every day that Wonwoo indulges in his problems with Mingyu, thatâs what you were for. However, he canât talk about his problems about you, to you, so heâll have to settle for the next best thing. Â
âY/N has been ignoring me since the night we all hung out at Seokminâs,â Wonwoo confesses, and it feels nice.Â
For the past two weeks, heâs been keeping his frustrations to himself, and now that he can freely speak about it lifts the weight off his chest.Â
Mingyu snorts, obviously finding his friendâs situation humorous. Wonwoo sneers at Mingyuâs reaction, clearly not finding anything about you ignoring him funny.Â
âServes you right, youâre a dick to her, man.â Mingyu shrugs without any remorse to spare.Â
âWhat?â Wonwoo sputters, since when was he a dick to you? His best friend?Â
âHow blind are you? You have glasses and everything but you canât see how mean you are to her sometimes? Really?â Mingyu almost sounds offended on your behalf as he stares at Wonwoo with an incredulous expression.Â
âI am not a dick to her. She would definitely tell me if Iâve ever said something to hurt her feelings,â Wonwoo defends himself.Â
Attempting to rack his brain of all your moments together, he canât seem to pick out a memory where he has been especially rude to you. Of course, you two teased each other from time to time, but he wasnât a complete asshole. He knew when to not take a joke too far or purposely try to upset you.Â
âYouâre a dumbass.â Mingyu lets out a frustrated sigh which only aggravates Wonwoo even more.Â
âCould you stop with the insults for one second and just tell me whatâs going on?âÂ
Shutting his laptop, Mingyuâs posture becomes serious, a deviation from his usual carefree and smiley self. He cares about you just as much as the next person, so if he had to reality-check his friend, then so be it.Â
âShe cares about you a lot. And you treat her like shit. Itâs not about what youâve said to her, itâs your actions. Ever since we were in high school all youâve done is use her to solve your problems. I canât even blame her for wanting to cut you off. I donât know what happened at Seokminâs place for her to realize that, but you donât deserve her,â Mingyu confesses.Â
Soaking up each word that left Mingyuâs mouth, Wonwoo sat in a pool of perplexity. There are so many questions flying through his mind, yet he canât seem to utter a single word. Is that really how everyone perceives his friendship with you?Â
Wonwoo is going to throw up. There's a tightness in his chest and a burning sensation behind his eyes. He wants nothing more than to hear all of this coming from you, not Mingyu. The frustration of wanting to talk to you about this is taking a toll on him, he doesnât want to believe that Mingyu is telling the truth.Â
Itâs not fair. Itâs not fair that Mingyu gets to know these things about you while Wonwoo is just left in the dark. Did he make you feel like you couldnât tell him anything?Â
Ever since Wonwoo met you, it was evident that he can be quite merciless when it comes to his relationships, but thatâs romantic, not platonic. Wonwoo was convinced that he treated you equally because thatâs how it's supposed to be.Â
Hearing Mingyu talk about his friendship with you in that way caused Wonwooâs whole world to crash down. And the only thing he can do in moments like these is seek out your comfort, except he canât anymore. Not only has he been a terrible friend without realizing it, but heâs pushed you so far to the brink that youâd rather ignore him than attempt to hash out whatâs been troubling you.
âI-I didnât know that's how you guys saw our friendship,â Wonwoo falters, clearly taken aback, and still attempting to fully comprehend whatâs been said to him.Â
âItâs not that we see your friendship with her that way, it is that way. If I was her, I wouldâve cut you off a long time ago.âÂ
âWell, thanks, Gyu. I feel like this couldâve been said before she started ignoring me,â Wonwoo huffs, trying to come up with the words to explain his side.
âIt was kinda obvious, man,â Mingyu shrugs.Â
âWas it, though? If I had known, I wouldâve at least tried to be better,â Wonwoo attests, tired of feeling like the bad guy.Â
âHow about you just talk to her about it instead of sulking,â Mingyu suggests.Â
Desperation hijacked his rational thinking, making Mingyuâs advice sound plausible. Talking to you seemed out of the equation since you started ignoring him; he feared you wouldnât even answer if he tried to call or show up at your door. But he canât go on like this, especially now that he knows there is more to your friendship than he had initially thought.Â
four.Â
For the first time in Wonwooâs life, heâs unsure about what decision to make. Although he wants nothing more than to knock on your door, his feet stop him from even entering your building. So instead of mucking up the courage to talk to you face to face, he waits inside his car. Without a solid plan, he continues to sit there, biding his time.Â
Never has he acted so pathetic in his life, not even for the sake of his relationships. He knows that nothing will come from sitting there, just watching, but before he can even comprehend what he is doing and where he is going, he is already across the street from your place.Â
Gripping on the leather of his steering wheel, he just couldnât help himself. He canât help but watch your silhouette from your window. The curtains are drawn, but there are glimpses of you walking around. Heâs such a fucking loser. What type of person has Wonwoo become that he resorts to stalking you from the front of your building?Â
After all that Mingyu has enlightened him on, Wonwooâs attitude has become less angry and more apologetic. There was a line he pondered crossing, and it practically mocked him. Stepping over that line would mean getting answers from you, demanding to be brought into the light that you had snuffed out from under him. But his uncertainty of the outcome outweighed his decision to do so.
That same apologetic attitude died a fiery death after watching Seokmin leave your apartment. There you were in all your glory, the tiny sleep set clinging onto your body as the wind forced its way into the door of your building. Then there was Seokmin, grinning like a fucking idiot as he waved goodbye.Â
âShit!â Wonwoo grunts as he ducks down, not wanting to blow his cover. His car was visible from where the two of you stood, hoping that you werenât able to recognize it in the dead of night. Â
Boring holes into the back of Seokminâs head, Wonwoo's guilt diminished, floating away with the cold night breeze. You were fine, and he shouldâve known that the root of all his problems started with the name Lee Seokmin.Â
The shape of your figure had faded into the confines of your building. Yet Wonwoo can still make out your body through the glass window of your door. He canât help but gawk at your skimpy attire, your ass practically on display for the whole world to see. The deathly twist in his gut intensifies the more he ponders on what may have happened during Seokminâs visit. Wonwoo desperately wants to stop thinking about the possibilities, especially because your lack of clothing only fueled that inferno inside his mind.Â
Heâs never been more annoyed at Seokmin in his entire life, not until today.Â
Wonwoo allowed himself to ignore the signs, but only for a moment. But this, this he canât ignore. Not after what he witnessed. He allowed himself to stay ignorant when it came to your silence because he had been so naive to think that it was your decision. Now that he knows Seokmin had somehow weaselled his way closer to you, Wonwoo had to make sure this plan of his didnât go on any longer.Â
âŚ
There is a heat inside Wonwoo that, for some reason, he cannot extinguish. The curve and outlines of your body burn in the back of his retinas. No matter how many times heâs tried to put himself to sleep, the image of you is clear as day in his mind. Sparks crawl their way up his spine, and he desperately wishes that it would just go away.Â
Thereâs a point where Wonwoo gave up on trying to sleep altogether. Thoughts of you, your body, and the oh-so-painful reminder that youâre still ignoring him. How can he sleep with everything going on? What made things worse, was the fact that the one person he wanted to call most likely wouldnât pick up.
Wonwoo wasnât the type of person to let his emotions get the better of him, but this abrupt rift that has been torn between you two has him acting out in ways heâs never acted before.Â
The urge to grab his phone, to text you, to give it one more try, grows perpetually every second he lies awake.Â
One more time. One more attempt. What does he have to lose?Â
Wonwoo stands up, pacing around nonsensically, trying to think of what to say. For all he knows, you may not even answer, but there is the urge to hear your voice one more time and see your name pop up on his screen. Wonwoo yearns for you so much so that it supersedes any part of common sense he has left in him.Â
[12:52 a.m.]Â [wons <3: darling. can we talk? please?]Â [not delivered]Â
The silence within the four walls of Wonwooâs bedroom is harrowing. Out of all the outcomes he had considered before he texted you, the outcome of you blocking him was not even on the list.Â
Before jumping to some sort of conclusion, Wonwooâs finger hovers over the call button with skepticism. If you donât pick up, then thatâs it. That would be the definitive answer to all his qualms.Â
âThe number you have called is not available, please leave a message at the tone,â an automated voice affirmed his suspicions.Â
The notification is gut-wrenching, but he canât just sit here and pretend like itâs okay for you to do this. To decide without any of his input. What kind of friend were you to just drop him like he was nothing but an old toy? How unfair did you have to be to not even try to talk it out before you completely cut him off?Â
five.Â
Pacing outside the door of your apartment, Wonwoo hasnât been this nervous in years. He has always been so sure of himself, but itâs almost two in the morning and heâs still continuing to weigh his options.Â
Itâs either youâll let him in, and talk for the first time in almost two weeks, or youâll kick him out before he can step a foot past the door. Desperately, he desires that it be the first option. Losing you over this would break him, and not in the way you would expect.Â
Heâs already lost his mind. This shouldnât be the way you two break it off. It wonât be the way you two break it off. Not if Wonwoo has a say in the situation.Â
Sweaty palms and white knuckles rasp against the dark oak that barricades himself from you. Thereâs nothing that Wonwoo wants more than to see your face glowing in front of him. And before he can even get a word out to you, the door whips open. The person on the other side is someone Wonwoo is starting to get really sick of seeing.Â
âWhat the hell are you doing here?â Both Wonwoo and Seokmin speak in unison.Â
Scoffing, Wonwoo rolls his eyes at his so-called friend, âI think I should be asking you that. You clearly donât live here.âÂ
âMinnie? Is someone at the door?â your voice is as sweet as a glass of lemonade on a hot summerâs day.Â
Minnie. Wonwoo almost threw up in his mouth.Â
Minnie. The nickname is parallel to nails scraping against a chalkboard.Â
âYeah! Your neighbour just needed to borrow something,â Seokmin goads through a sickly sweet smile, eyes never leaving Wonwooâs. Without as much as a word of mockery, Seokminâs expression had said more than his words ever could have.Â
Despite his soft demeanour, Wonwoo knew there was something vile hiding under Seokminâs thick skin.Â
A rebuttal to his deception is on the tip of Wonwooâs tongue, but your melodic voice echoes throughout your home once more. The refute dies within his throat, and he hopes you will come out and see what your âneighbourâ is looking for.Â
âOkay!â is the only response you give out. The reverberation of the water hitting the shower tiles causes Wonwooâs stomach to practically lurch out his abdomen.Â
âWhatever youâre doing, sheâs not gonna fall for it,â Wonwoo jeered, staring at Seokmin with looks that should kill, if he could.Â
Seokmin chuckles bitterly, âShe already has.âÂ
There was no need for Wonwoo to put two and two together; he already knew what Seokmin was alluding to. It left a dreadful taste in his mouth.Â
Puffing out his chest, Wonwoo takes a step closer towards the man he once considered a close friend. Sizing him up, he knew that Seokmin was the reason for the wedge in your friendship. And Wonwoo had no problem treating him as such.Â
âYouâre fucking sick, you know that?â Wonwoo practically spits in his face.Â
âI could say the same thing for you,â Seokmin mutters, unperturbed, âI didnât have to do anything you know? Just a little push and she fell into my lap, voluntarily.âÂ
âIâm not just going to let you get away with something like this. Sheâs my best friend.âÂ
âI think the correct tense is was. She was your best friend,â Seokmin taunted.Â
He was wrong about Seokmin. Even though he had known about his friend's crush on you for years, Wonwoo didnât expect the lengths Seokmin would go to in order to cut him out of the picture.Â
Before a breath could even escape his lips, Seokmin cuts him off, âI think itâs time for you to leave. She doesnât want to see you.â
The last few words that he heard come out of Seokminâs mouth nearly fell on deaf ears. It was practically a whisper, laced with enough malice to almost kill the fighting spirit inside him. Almost.Â
âBy the way, donât text her anymore. Iâve made sure she wonât get any more notifications from you.âÂ
The realization had struck Wonwoo hard. He knew you well enough that you wouldnât just block him so carelessly, without a word no less. Yet he was no match for Seokmin, not after the fact that you allowed him into your home, your heart, so willingly.Â
âŚ
Lying in wait, Wonwoo observes the door of your building once more. The distinct difference this time was that Wonwoo had no guilt left in him to care. Whether you see him or his car across the street didnât matter to him anymore. The only thing Wonwoo wanted to make sure of was whether or not Seokmin would be leaving your place.Â
After what had felt like hours, he watched the same scene from last night unfold in front of him once more. The abhorrent hug goodbye that is exchanged between you and Seokmin is nothing but a cue for Wonwoo to make his move.
With as much grace as a bull in a china shop, he slams the car door shut, not even bothering to lock it before he stalks his way to your apartment. The anticipation caused the hairs on his neck to stand straight up. As he presses the button to your floor, he can only deliberate whether any of Seokminâs words hold any truth behind them.
Certainly not, right? Not after all the years you spent together. His friendship with you couldnât end on this vague note. You were always the sentimental type, holding onto trinkets, memories, and even people for far too long. It should be the same with Wonwoo; he believed it would be the same.Â
If there is a chance, you should allow him to talk and voice his opinion. No, Wonwoo will voice his opinion; there has never been a time when you havenât let him speak.Â
As the elevator ascends to your floor, anxiety begins to weigh down his shoulders. The feeling is atypical and Wonwoo hates how his throat constricts. He hates how his clothes feel too tight and stuffy despite his casual attire. Is this how it feels? To actually care about someone and whether their decisions might affect him later on?Â
Footsteps echo within the hallway, and with each step he takes, the illusion steadily becomes more vivid. Your front door almost looks like itâll take a mile before Wonwoo can reach it, rather than a few feet away.Â
After what felt like years, Wonwoo stands before the entrance of your home once more. The foreboding tension wonât vanish and itâs starting to make him itch. Without another thought, Wonwoo forces himself to knock on the door knowing itâll be you who answers this time, not Seokmin.Â
âMinnie? Did you leave something agaiâ,â Abrupt silence engulfs your words, leaving nothing but an echo to resonate within the expanse of your long hallway.
âWonwooâŚâ your voice falters, like you genuinely didnât expect to see him, let alone have him standing outside your door.Â
âDid you fuck him?â Wonwoo cuts to the chase, not leaving any room for you to ask questions.Â
His blunt words caused a frown to grace your soft pink lips, and Wonwoo almost felt bad for being so frank. But he doesnât have time to beg for your forgiveness, the anger surmounting to nothing but harsh words and a push past you and into your home.Â
âDid you fuck him? Yes or no?â Wonwoo continues to press you for answers, agitated that you have the audacity to stand there dumbfounded. As if you donât know who he's talking about. âCâmon, you know who Iâm talking about,â he can almost laugh at the situation in front of him.Â
How is it that all the rage he built up for Seokmin is being taken out on you? Wonwoo had no clue, but the thought of his friend-now-enemy defiling you, tasting you, while Wonwoo desperately waited for your call caused him to direct all his anger to you. Perhaps itâs undeserving to do so, but Wonwooâs frustration spoke for him before his brain could even register what he was saying.Â
âThe past two weeks youâve been ignoring me, spending your time with him, do you know where his true intentions lie?â Wonwoo continues to rant with unpreparedness.Â
He didnât plan what he was going to say because there was a moment of doubt, he had expected you to open the door just to slam it right back in his face. The look you gave him almost brought him to his knees. Your doe-eyed expression couldâve broken down every wall heâs built if only he hadnât let his anger proceed him.Â
Wonwoo shouldâve cried, to plead for you to take him back. To go back to the way things were. He knew he fucked up the moment he uttered a single word. The hurt flashed across your face as though Wonwoo turned your world upside down.Â
âSeokmin doesnât care about you, and Iâll tell you that now because you need to hear it. He just wants to fuck you! And you just gave that to him?â He canât stop talking.Â
âStop. Just stop fucking talking Wonwoo. Do you hear yourself right now?â You cut off his rant. âOut of all people, who gave you the right to tell me who I can and cannot fuck? Especially knowing the type of person that you are. It doesnât matter if Seokmin and I had sex. What matters is the fact that you think you can barge in here at two-thirty in the morning interrogating me over a situation that doesnât involve you.âÂ
âNo. Iâm just trying to help you. Seokmin isnât the person that you think he is,â Wonwoo seethes, annoyed at how youâre twisting his words.Â
The bile in his throat rose further, as you stood before him like he had just kicked your dog. Wonwooâs extremely aware of the hole he had dug for himself, but he couldnât stop. His urge to self-sabotage overrides his common sense.Â
âThat is exactly what weâre not going to do right now. Seokmin has been a better friend to me than you have been in all the years weâve known each other. I have been by your side for years, bending over backwards. I was at your beck and call and Iâm tired. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and warn myself about you. I fell in love with my best friend, and the worst part was that you didnât care enough to notice.Â
âI gave up so much for you, Wonwoo. I lost myself trying to please you. But I give up. I was drowning in my love for you. It consumed every part of me to the point I couldnât even come up for air. And Iâm just sick of it. I know thereâs a part of you that cares about me too, but itâll never be equal. Iâll always love you more than you love me, and I donât want to feel this way anymore.âÂ
âWhat hurts me the most, is that you thought it would be okay to accuse me of things I didnât even do. I did not sleep with Seokmin, but why is that what you care about? He respects me and just wants to be there for me. And thatâs a lot more than I could ever say about you.âÂ
Your voice was terrifyingly calm, with neither a lilt nor a hiccup during your speech. The heft of your declaration crashed back down onto Wonwoo, leaving him at a loss for words.Â
âIâm sorry,â is the first thing to come out of his mouth after a long pause.Â
âPlease. Itâs late, you should go home,â you sigh, but Wonwoo couldnât move an inch. He refused.Â
âIâm sorry,â he repeats himself, looking into your eyes, searching for the look of endearment you had always given him.Â
âWonwooâŚâ there it is. Your voice had broken for the first time since Wonwoo stepped foot in the place.Â
âPlease. Iâm so fucking sorry. For getting angry, for doubting you, for not realizing how badly you were hurting,â Wonwoo resorted to pleading.Â
A look of desperation mixed with agony was the only thing you could exchange for his apologies.
The stare of grief you had given him caused a shooting pain to swell throughout his limbs. The one that begins at his fingertips, creeping up to tug at the strings that held his heart together. He wanted this nightmare to end, and he was sure you did too.Â
âItâs time for you to go. Iâm tired, Wonwoo.â A single tear slips and trickles down your cheek.Â
He regrets not wiping it away for you at that moment. It was the first time he had been so unsure of his actions. So, instead, he walked out of your apartment, leaving nothing but the lingering scent of his cologne and a piece of his heart.Â
Wonwoo's world was crumbling underneath him, and there was only one person he refused to let go of. He shouldâve known.
He shouldâve known that you were in front of him this whole damn time.
end of act one.

Fire and Phantom
You and Emily Prentiss find yourselves caught in the volatile push and pull of your love, unable to stay apart but struggling to make it work. tw: emotional distress, alcohol consumption, toxic relationship dynamics
(words 1532)
The cold crept in through the cracked window of your apartment, curling around you like an unwanted guest. You hadnât fixed it. You couldnât bring yourself to care. A half-empty bottle of whiskey sat on the coffee table, the glass in your hand long emptied but still clenched tightly, your knuckles white. The burn lingered in your throat, but it wasnât enough. Nothing was.
The door slammed, loud and familiar, jarring you out of your haze. You froze, not needing to turn around to know who it was. Heavy boots thudded against the hardwood, a deliberate announcement of her arrival.
âDo you even bother locking the door anymore?â Emilyâs voice cut through the silence, sharp but laced with a weariness you knew too well. There was a bite in her words, but the concern beneath it was unmistakable.
You didnât turn to look at her. You couldnât. Not yet. âWhy are you here?â you muttered, voice hoarse, low.
âYou know why,â she said simply, her tone dropping to something softer, something almost tender. âYou shouldnât be alone right now.â
You laughed bitterly, the sound hollow. âFunny. Thatâs how I feel when you leave.â
That landed. You didnât have to look to see the flicker of guilt flash across her face; you could feel it in the weighted silence that followed. She stepped closer, her presence filling the small room like a storm cloud.
âYou look like hell,â she said after a moment, and this time, there was no edge to her voice. Just exhaustion. Just worry.
âFeel like it, too,â you admitted, hating how easily the vulnerability slipped out. You set the glass down, your fingers trembling slightly as they left it behind.
Her sigh was quiet but heavy, the kind of sound that carried a thousand unspoken words. She perched on the arm of the couch, close but still not close enough. âWhy do we keep doing this?â she asked softly, her voice cracking just enough to make your chest tighten.
You turned then, finally meeting her eyes. They were dark and stormy, just like always, and God, they made you feel everything all at once. Anger. Longing. Love. It was too much.
âYou tell me,â you said, your voice rising despite the lump in your throat. âWhy do we keep coming back? Is it because weâre good at tearing each other apart? Or because we donât know how to be alone?â
Her jaw tightened, her composure slipping for just a moment. âItâs not like thatââ
âThen what is it?â you demanded, standing abruptly. Your pulse was racing, your hands shaking as they curled into fists at your sides. âWhat are we doing, Emily? Are we just waiting for one of us to figure out weâre better off without thisâwithout us?â
âStop it,â she snapped, standing to match your energy. Her voice wavered, her control cracking. âYou think I donât ask myself that every damn day? You think I donât know how much Iâve hurt you?â
âThen why do you keep coming back?â you fired, your voice breaking. âWhy do you keep coming through that door if youâre just going to leave again? Am I not enough? Tell me, Emily. Who do you want?â
Her breath hitched. For a moment, she didnât answer, and the silence was deafening. Her walls were up, those impenetrable shields she always used to keep you at armâs length. But this time, they faltered.
âYouâre more than enough,â she whispered, her voice trembling. âThatâs what scares me.â
The words hit you like a punch to the gut. You stared at her, blinking back tears as they threatened to spill. âThatâs not fair. You donât get to stand there and tell me Iâm everything and then walk away like it doesnât matter.â
âI know itâs not fair!â she snapped, her voice rising. âBut thisâusâitâs not something I know how to do. Iâm not like you. I donât know how to be all in. I donât know how to stop running when things get hard.â
âSo what?â you asked, your voice breaking. âYouâre just going to keep running? Keep leaving me here to figure it out on my own?â
Her eyes glistened, her hands trembling as she took a step toward you. âI donât want to run from you,â she said, so quietly it was almost a plea. âI just donât know how to stay.â
Tears blurred your vision, hot and unwelcome. You wanted to scream, to tell her to leave, to tell her to stay. Instead, you stood frozen, your heart breaking all over again.
âThen donât promise anything,â you said, your voice cracking. âJust⌠be here. Thatâs all Iâm asking.â
Emilyâs breath hitched, and in an instant, she was in front of you. Her hands cupped your face, warm and trembling. Her dark eyes searched yours, and for a moment, the world stopped. Then she kissed you.
It wasnât soft or hesitant. It was desperate and raw, full of everything she couldnât say. You kissed her back just as fiercely, your hands gripping her jacket like you were afraid sheâd vanish if you let go. The taste of whiskey and salt mingled between you, the kiss as messy and complicated as everything else between you.
When she finally pulled back, her forehead rested against yours, her breath warm against your skin. âI canât promise I wonât mess up,â she whispered, her voice ragged.
âThen donât,â you whispered back. âJust stay.â
Her hands slid down to yours, her grip firm despite the slight tremor in her fingers. âIâm here,â she said, her voice barely audible. âIâm here.â
Emilyâs words hung in the air, grounding you even as your emotions threatened to sweep you away again. Her gaze locked onto yours, filled with that unique mix of fire and vulnerability she reserved for you and only you. You didnât know which one of you moved first, but the next thing you knew, her lips were on yours again.
This kiss was even fiercer, hungrier, like the first taste had only fanned the flames instead of quelling them. Your hands found their way into her hair, tangling in the soft strands as you tugged her closer. She let out a quiet, desperate sound that sent a shiver down your spine.
âGod, I missed you,â Emily murmured against your lips, her voice shaking with need. Her hands gripped your waist like she was terrified youâd slip away, her fingertips digging into your skin through the fabric of your shirt.
You kissed her harder, as if trying to convey through touch what words could never fully express. The need, the longing, the frustrationâit all poured out as her teeth grazed your bottom lip, sending sparks of heat straight to your core.
Her grip on you tightened, and suddenly she was pulling you down with her as she sank onto the couch. You followed without hesitation, your knees straddling her hips as you kissed her with the same desperation that burned in her touch. Emilyâs hands roamed your back, slipping under your shirt to press against bare skin, her touch searing.
âEmily,â you breathed against her lips, your voice a mix of want and warning.
âI know,â she said, her voice husky as her lips trailed down your jaw, then to the sensitive spot just below your ear. âI know.â
Her words were both an apology and a promise, but neither of you had the strength to unpack them right now. Her hands guided your hips closer, your bodies pressing together in a way that made you both gasp. You gripped her shoulders, holding onto her like she was the only solid thing in your world, and in that moment, she was.
The tension between you was unbearable, intoxicating, like a drug you both swore youâd quit but couldnât stay away from. Emilyâs lips returned to yours, her kiss more insistent this time, as if she needed to memorize every detail of you before you disappeared.
âWhy is it so hard?â you murmured against her lips, your voice breaking. âWhy canât we justââ
âBecause weâre us,â she interrupted, her voice raw. Her hands framed your face, forcing you to meet her gaze. Her dark eyes were glassy, her vulnerability laid bare. âBecause this isnât simple. But itâs real. And I need you to believe that.â
âI do,â you whispered, your voice trembling. âBut believing doesnât make it easier.â
Emily nodded, her fingers brushing away the tear that escaped down your cheek. âNo, it doesnât,â she admitted, her voice softening. âBut Iâm here. Iâm here, and I donât want to lose this. I donât want to lose you.â
Her words cracked something open inside you, and you kissed her again, pouring everything you had into the act. It was messy, desperate, full of the passion and pain that had defined your relationship from the beginning. Her hands gripped your hips as she leaned back against the couch, pulling you impossibly closer.
It wasnât perfect. It wasnât easy. But as her lips met yours again and your bodies moved together in a chaotic dance of need and love, you realized something.
Whatever this was, it was worth it.

LOVE han jisung x reader w. maybe a little cringy but what is good love without cringe, this is gonna be a wilddd trip, jisungs mother isn't it... , lovesick!jisung gen. angst, fluff , starcrossed lovers sum. your world suddenly comes crumbling down when your lover feels as though you don't want him as much as he wants you so you choose to prove him that it isn't true. count. 2.8k
"they're a disgrace, jisung. do you want to love a disgrace?" the words replayed in your head as you sat rushed out of the home, jisung following quickly.
You both knew of each others feelings for one another, you both knew of the circumstances you both stood in but that wouldn't stop him, neither should it stop you, could it?
" y/n wait , i know what she said back there is bad but-" he attempted to find an excuse for his mothers words yet his mouth ran dry at the thought of any.
you sigh, discouraged and tired as rain poured onto you in heavy bunches, an uncomfortable feeling at best. "jisung-"
"oh how i hate when you call me that." he yells over the loud patters, not bothering for safety as he runs faster, grabbing onto you.
"ji, i'm sorry but i think we should just stop trying... i mean, no one wants us together and no matter what we try it never works." you turn to look at him, the rain covering up whats meant to be tears
"we just have to try harder, love. and if not, i don't think their opinions matter at all." he says, worry in his eyes as he calculates the possible outcome of this
"no ji, you don't understand. you're not the one being berated everywhere because of your social classing" you pull your arm from his grasp, looking at him with a cold stare.
he had never seen you in such a light towards him, perhaps he deserved it but who would he be if not a fighter for something he truly held valuable.
"okay, you're right i'm sorry-" he said huffing out a breath.
"no you're not sorry, you're selfish." you stare at him, expression blank as tears continued to fall with each passing blink.
his expression changed from one of worry to one of desperation.
"I'm... selfish?" he asked, his eyes saddening as he frowned.
"yes! you force me into this stupid relationship when all i get is reprimanded so yes, you're selfish."
you truly didn't mean it. jisung was persistant, he'd fight for something no matter what but you were tired, endlessly being dehumanized at the hands of anyone with any superiority.
"I thought you wanted- I thought you liked me..." he breathed heavily, his mind racing with many thoughts as he tried to mask the hurt. It was scary, how well he'd done it though, his eyes now showing a cold glare.
"Fine. I don't even know why I bothered, got my clothes all soaked for nothing." He said, his stare intense on you before he walked back into his home almost robotically.
your heart hurt as you watched him walk back into his home but you knew maybe it was all for the better.
The campus cafeteria buzzed with loud chatter as everyone prepared for lunch. Jisung sat at a table across the cafeteria from you but yet his eyes never seemed to stop looking at you. You were reading a book, paying little to no attention to your food.
Felix stared at Jisung with concern before following his gaze. "you alright? why don't you just go over there and sit with them?" He said, waking Jisung from his trance. "We're.. not together anymore," he said quietly before felix looked at him with a look of sympathy.
"Oh... I'm sorry," he replied as the table for the two had gotten quiet, of course before seungmin ruined the silence.
"Why are you watching them like a hawk then?" Seungmin asked, sliding his tray of food next to Felix's, giving a blank stare despite his ruthless remark, earning a glare from felix.
"Don't they look a little bad? I mean- not bad just... like they've been through a breakup and are upset?" Jisung was down bad, feeding off delusions in his head to prove to him that what you said wasn't true.
"No, they look the-" Seungmin starts, only to be stopped by Felix.
"I'm sure they're just as hurt as you are hyung" Felix suggests causing Jisung to nod.
Truth be told, you were. You'd taken a lot of effort to even get out of bed today and get ready, not to mention the self torment and strain you had to endure even trying not to look his way, it was torture.
Hyunjin appears at the boys table, his eyes squinted as he looked at the faces around him. "What's going on?"
"He's going through a breakup." Seungmin says, pointing at Jisung before going back to chewing on his food.
"A breakup? I think I have a good idea for you to get over it" Hyunjin suggest, cleaning closer to Jisung who only pushes him away.
"I don't wanna get over it. I want them" He pouts, covering his face in mental torment.
" this isn't right for your mental, maybe you should try to move on..." Felix says, bringing a hand to pat the man on his head.
"Right. That's why I suggest you go out with Yunhee" Hyunjin says with a smile on his face as Jisung glares at him.
"What?"
"Cmon, she's has a crush on you. She has had for a long time. Its way better than unrequited love."
"Hyun, that would be unrequited love" Felix says to which Hyunjin shakes off.
"He can fall in love with her, you can't fall inlove again, everyone knows that." Hyunjin says as Jisung sighs deeply.
"If i do it, will you shut up?" he asked, his eyes bored as Hyunjin nods with a smile.
You felt maybe you were doing right and that as time moved on you'd only get better. Yet, the thing is that the heart wants what it wants and the feeling of being happy will only be there for but so long before you're longing that true happiness once more.
That's exactly how you felt as you watched Jisung walk down the hall with Yunhee, the same girl who's always had a 'crush' on Jisung.
Yunhee was a bit of a childish person, spoiled, bratty, but luckily for her, rich.
she was also your mortal enemy who took it upon herself, even now at her big age to want whatever you wanted, even the things she knew you couldn't have, for example, Jisung.
You knew she didn't like him, she and her friends would joke about it everyday, stealing him from you just to see you with nothing.
She was using him, using your jisung.
"Hey ynnie!" You heard a bright cheery voice behind you belonging to no other than Felix.
You turned around to look at him, a playful grin on your face. "Aren't you Jisung's friend now? I saw you sitting with him yesterday."
He tilted his head, pouting. "Can't a guy have friends? I feel like a child of divorce."
You roll your eyes. "Why is jisung with Yunhee?" You ask, nudging your head towards the two.
Felix gives you a knowing look, a small smirk on his face. "Why? Jealous?"
You glance at him, scowling. "I just think it's ironic someone who says he's so hurt about a relationship is back with someone else in less than 72 hours" you cross your arms.
Felix nods, "Don't worry, he's just doing it for Hyunjin, they'll either be linked by the arm or complete strangers by time the college christmas party is over depending on how well they're communicating"
linked by the arm.
meaning dating?
obviously y/n.
uh oh.
truly you hadn't seen this one coming, you obviously weren't expecting for him to find someone else so quickly whilst you were still mourning. for that same person to be the one who never even cared about him.
you left hurt him just for him to be hurt again. there's no way you'd let yunhee go through with whatever trick she was going planning.
so you tried, speaking to him for the first time in what felt like forever
Jisung sat in the chair of the music room by himself as he looked over the notes for a song he'd been learning on guitar.
You'd been there everytime he let you listen to the rough drafts of his finishing project; it felt a little bittersweet hearing the finished version.
He played the notes softly, his eyes intently staring at the paper before he pushed his glasses up on his nose, letting out a sigh.
"Whoever's standing there you don't have to be a stalker, make yourself known" he said bluntly, causing you a little panic.
"Sorry..." You muttered but he recognised your voice instantly, his eyes widening as he quickly glanced back, putting his facade back on once more.
"What do you want?" His tone was cold, much like yours on the night you broke his heart.
"Can we talk?" You ask quietly, pushing the door to the music room closed a bit.
He let out another sigh, this time deeper and sounded annoyed. "What?"
"I wanted to talk to you about Yunhee" You started and the delusions in his mind almost made him think you were jealous, causing his heart to beat a little faster at the possibility.
"What? Are you upset i'm with someone else?" His tone and his heart are speaking two different languages because his tone is cold and upset but his heart is longing for you to want him, to accept him as much as he does you, if only he knew.
"What? No no, I just- Yunhee is only gonna hurt you, i don't think you should go out with her." You admit honestly, a look of concern in your eyes as you try to mask the feeling of hurt.
He scoffs, letting out a harsh laugh before standing. "You can't be hypocritical, y/n. It isn't a good look on you." he brushed past you before you could even get a chance at speaking.
Another thing about Jisung was that he was stubborn, very stubborn. And yet so were you.
A few days later, Jisung sat at the table with Felix, chewing on some carrot sticks they served which honestly were the first time they ever tasted fresh like they did today.
You rushed over, placing your hands on the table as a halt, getting the attention from both boys before Jisung looked back down at his food quickly.
"Ji..." You spoke, trying to get his attention.
"Jisung please..." You begged, walking over to the opposite side of the table to sit with him, gesturing to felix that now wasn't the best time to sit there to which he took the hint.
"Ji-"
"What do you want this time." He said, his eyes never landing on you, his attention only focused on the orange vegetable.
"Listen i'm sorry about what I said, i never meant to hurt you.."
"That's not gonna make me any less hurt, y/n. If this is an attempt at getting Yunhee gone, it's not working." He said bluntly.
"What? Jisung no-" He scowled at the name again.
"You know, you don't want me, neither do you want anyone else to. do you just hate me, y/n?" He asked, now staring at you with a death glare. If looks could kill, you'd be ready to be shipped off in a coffin.
You sit in shock and silence at his words, causing him to scoff in disbelief, standing up as he collects his stuff.
You manage to grab his hand when he walks by but he pulls it out of your grasp before you can even get a word out.
Two weeks has passesd since you last interacted with Jisung and everytime he sees you, he avoids you like the plague. You've come to the conclusion that he is complately done with you, that you're both done. It hurt like hell, you could barely even force yourself out of bed for the first week, let alone focus on anything besides the fact that you lost the greatest thing life can give you.
It was now lunchtime and you sat at your usual spot, now more caught up in a book than ever, anything to distract yourself from looking over across the cafeteria where they could see you. Luckily for Jisung, as you would've caught him staring at you from afar.
"Goodness, they look like they haven't been eating. You guys think its my fault? Fuck, i'm so stupid." Jisung scolds himself, covering his face as he tries to hide the tears threatening to slip.
"Han, I don't think you should be worrying about your ex when you have a nice date tonight with your new date." Hyunjin says although his still pats his back for comfort.
Han breathes in for a second, nodding slowly as he wipes the tears from his face, Felix's eyes filling with concern before his eyes glow with oppurtunity.
"Alright fine, this'll be the last date before i go off to weep in misery" He says before sighing deeply.
Felix turns up to your home with a big smile on his face, as he explains his idea of you finally speaking to Jisung, and tells you that Jisung also is going through a rough time and is only mad at you because he thinks you don't love him.
So thats how you end up at the party, standing awkwardly. You'd had over 6 drinks of some random non alcoholic drink to keep yourself from looking too awkward but now you've got to pee.
you walk to the bathroom which is very close but stop when you hear a conversation and familiar voices.
"jisung? nah i only need him to get back at y/n, remember?"
"ah, you think he actually is starting to like you yet?"
"that'd be a bummer, but it may benefit his parent's are rich. probably the only reason that bitch wants him."
"right, that's genius"
their conversation made your blood boil. she not only was using him to get back at you but she also was using him to get free money?
even if you couldn't win him back, you'd get your revenge before she thought of doing whatever she wanted to.
she walked out of ther bathroom, watching you stand there with a glare on her face. "Privacy much? no one asked you to be a stalker."
you stared at her , rage filling your eyes before you looked into your 7th cup, filled with juice inside, throwing it right into her face.
convienetly enough, Jisung was right outside the door to the bathrooms so he heard the loud shriek she gave and came inside, only to find you standing there holding a red solo cup outside down, leaking small drops of red juice onto the tile floors, causing Jisung to cringe before he walked over to you, looking at you in disbelief.
He grabbed your arm, softly, pulling you out of the bathroom and into a room more quiet, ignoring the screams from Yunhee.
He paced the room as you sat on a desk in the from, looking at him.
"What the hell was that?" He finally asked, looking at you.
"Ji- she said something bad about you! why are you upset with me?"
He glared at you, this time in an unrecognizable way. it was neither angry, nor cold, just frustrated?
"You... You confuse me Y/n. " This gets you to look up at him, your mouth dry, unable to answer.
"You tell me you love me, and want to fight, for me then you go and tell me i'm selfish when you cloud up every fucking thought I have, not even the valuables you say I want so bad can even match your value, how much I want you." Your eyes widen, unable to speak; he doesn't want you to anyways, he's not finished.
"Then you act all sweet and hurt, making me hurt for you yret, you can't even say no when I ask if you hate me and now... you're.. you're fighting someone for saying they want to hurt me, making me all fucked up."
The room is in complete in silence as you two stare at each other, desperation and shock in both of your eyes.
"say something please... do you love me? If you don't... I'll try, I'll get over it"
"ji... I do... I really really do but-"
"oh you know I hate it when you say "but" ..." he groans a little, moving closer as his eyes fill with desperation.
" I don't wanna go through that again... and I know it's unfair and downright selfish for me not to want you to move on but I just... I want you..."
he stares at you with hearts in his eyes as he softly grabs your arms.
"I'll do something about it... I promise it'll stop just next time tell me about this stuff, I can't lose you again, especially not like this." he says, staring into your eyes.
the room falls silent once more before you pull him into a passionate kiss, one filled with desperation, longing, and the taste of peppermint candy canes on his tongue.
"I love you, y/n so so so much."
"I love you so so so much as well, hanji"

Imagine...
Trainee! Curly having a crush on the new cute Chubby Receptionist!
Warnings: Fluff, some hints of spice, Flirting, Some insecurities and Crushing
Minors be gone.
A/N: I am writing headcanons for this but I NEED to write this first because I'm getting way to excited for this :)
Trainee! Curly in the progress of becoming a licensed captain for Pony Express. Pony Express doesn't have the greatest history of hiring people and giving them proper training, but if they did get one thing right that is training the next upcoming captains
Trainee! Curly coming into work ready for another day of working out and tests. When he walks up to the desk to clock in with the receptionist, he sees someone he's never seen before
Trainee! Curly almost being love struck once the receptionist turned to look at him, smiling with their chubby cheeks as they ask him for his name and employee ID. He finds himself stuttering over a few of his words until he coughs in his hand to speak
Trainee! Curly stealing quick glances at the receptionist whenever he and the other captain trainees walk by. You being enthralled in your work to notice how he looks at you
Trainee! Curly coming over during his lunch breaks to start conversating with you. Seeing how your work clothes fit your form perfectly, comfortable and laid back yet professional at the same time. But he can also see how tight some of the areas of work clothes is with your body. Especially where your rolls are more prominent, making him get a bit flustered at the sight
Trainee! Curly asks you about how your day is and how it's going, his British accent prominent. A bright smile on his face with a twinkle in his blue eyes as you exclaim how you're loving the new job
Trainee! Curly continuing to visit the cute chubby receptionist, even bringing some food and snacks he brought for his workout. He isn't too fond of sweets, but he will bring some for you if you would like
Trainee! Curly becoming closer with the chubby receptionist. Complimenting you each and every time he gets the chance to
"you look absolutely wonderful today"
"hey! Hope everythings alright, you seem stressed so I uh- brought you some snacks"
"If you ever need to, I'm here to talk to. Here's my number if you would like"
Trainee! Curly gives you his number so he can get to know you more, albeit a little nervous about the possibility of you rejecting it but he wouldn't be mad if you did
Trainee! Curly sending you good morning texts and talks about your latest interests and hobbies. You also both share recipes through each other. He talks to you about why he wanted to be a captain and also how excited he is to see space
Trainee! Curly learning about the chubby receptionist that they are a bit insecure of their weight and he reassures them, and forbid if someone says something about it to you
"Ain't nothing wrong with having some pudge on ya, you look amazing either way. If they hate it so much then they should look at themselves first before saying something like that to you"
"People who make fun of your weight are insecure themselves, they should know better"
"Don't listen to them, look at you. You're doing incredible with everything you're doing!"
Trainee! Curly being a big positive for his chubby crush, making sure they are getting the food they need if they're lacking on not eating anything. Making it known that he is very much interested in them with the compliments, little gifts, and even hangouts
Trainee! Curly known in his highschool years as the highschool dreamboat and having many relationships during his young years, falling head overheels for the cute chubby receptionist he can't help but find himself thinking of them more and more each day

Grand Arcane S2 review
because I really need it to move on
Remember how I mentioned I could write an entire book about everything that went wrong with this season? Well, this is what a little excerpt from it would look like.
Let's start with a personal note to clarify my relationship with this hell of a piece of media.
S1 was this miracle show that was able to break through the several years of depression and anhedonia and make me interested in something, make me try to get back into making art (or at least try to try), to put myself out there on the internet a bit, to try be a part of something and not ashamed of enjoying it, which I never allowed myself before. Coincidentally, I've been at what I thought then was the worst place in my life when it aired and it helped me a lot to get through it. I didn't even think I would make it to see S2, as thee years felt like forever then. Taking all that into consideration, I think you can already tell where this is going.
I honestly thought I was prepared for S2 not being good, as no show could be this perfect. Turns out I wasn't prepared at all. Act 1 made me very happy, so happy I watched it two times, but the rest is something I would've never watch again and rather forget about.
The characters I wanted to see the most were Warwick (body horror, The Wrath of Zaun haunting the streets - got just a glimpse of that, but it felt like nothing) and Viktor (cyborgs and cyber gore, misunderstood idealist, Blitzcrank - got basically nothing; the idea was kinda there somewhere, but got changed so much it didn't matter at all).
I can't believe they took a godforsaken champion like Viktor and not only ruined his story completely, but also managed to fuck up everything else by all of a sudden making him a center of all of this mess. The center being the arcane/hextech/magic, which never even gets resolved/explained. Still no idea why it got corrupted and what was the nature of it; the void was never taken anywhere despite being heavily hinted - everything was evil because it was, but luckily the magic of friendship saved us!! (I'll get to that)
Speaking of crucial plotlines that weren't taken anywhere.. Basically every character got screwed over and made empty. Let's use Vi for a quick example (may not actually be the best example, but hopefully you'll get what I mean) - when I saw the pit fighter scene released early, I expected to see it have a continuation in the show, but instead it ended up just being the exact same music video, nothing more. And that goes for some more events - they get compressed into music videos that make it all incredibly hollow. Fight scenes are fine like this, sure, but not something that was supposed to be a bit more emotional and serious. Anyway, they successfully made me hate most of the characters. Either hate or just straight up not recognize them, and in a bad way.
Long story short the pacing is awful (it only gets back to normal in ep7, as it resembles the structure of S1) and the writing sucks ass. I can't for the love of god believe it was written alongside S1. There's no way in hell - it's literally all the worst fan theories I've seen come to life and get mixed with fanservice. *puts on a tinfoil hat* Maybe this is the real why they needed an extra year or two, as S2 was initially supposed to be released earlier. No way in hell the same people who wrote S1 and cared so much about the characters would do anything like this. Riot must've gotten heavily involved, making us believe they cut the story short (I think 5 seasons in Piltover/Zaun were planned initially?) for the benefit of it, but all it really was is greed - let's make a bunch of bullshit happen and quickly move to another region to sell more skins for new champions.
Now let's get back to the ending. Man, it really had it all - the nonsense, the multiverse bullshit which basically makes nothing make sense anymore (if there was anything left), the (yes, I'm going to say it, because that's exactly what I felt) cringe and embarrassment. Never seen anything more hollow trying to convince me it was deep and emotional (sums up the whole show perfectly).
How the hell the only thing that was supposed to save Viktor from himself was Jayce telling him he's perfect the way he is? Sure, don't try to cure your illness (that my city caused, but "fortunately" another crucial part of the plot, which is the sister cities conflict, ceased to exist), it makes you beautiful, this is who you are (miserable, unwanted, feeling meaningless and like a burden, dying). I am at loss of words.
Now buckle up jayvik fans. I wasn't a fan of the ship as I'm not a fan of any ships in general, but now I despise it. I wouldn't mind if they actually went on with it, which no, they didn't. We don't want two men kissing (women making out is fine tho, won't make the gamers too angry), so let's play extra safe to make sure it could be explained as any type of other close bond (and that's exactly what Christian Linke does when asked about it). You disgusting cowards, either you show me this in plain sight and I wouldn't give it a second thought, or don't even try bring it up at all (and you can't deny it wasn't implied in S1 with all the Viktor's looks and parallels to Mel).
Where do I even begin? Because I don't think you have any idea on how many levels it actually sucks. If you read it as romantic it's basically telling me that if I was a gay man struggling with my feelings and not being able to confess for years, because I'm convinced I'm unworthy of love as something is inherently wrong with me, then the best I could get after surviving all this (what honestly seems like hell) is a hug, because you're ashamed of me and thus I should be ashamed of who I am till the very end.
Something equally bad is Jayce finding out (or rather we finding out) how wonderful the world could look like if he let go of his beautiful dream, his life's work, and killed himself - it never gets denied, as the corruption of hextech doesn't get explained.
Long story short, if you're struggling with your mental health, trauma issues, disability or any of the problems the characters you related to deal with, this show spits you in the face.
I could go on forever about everything that's wrong (even Jinx got played dirty), but let's finish with the few things I liked: act 1 was promising (it's when I believed they could still make sense of Viktor), fun Sevika's arcade arm fight, the epic fight at the Janna's temple (Woodkid goat), Jayce killing Salo (I felt something) and Jayce's glitchy madness in general, young Vander flashback (felt something), ep7 and Singed's story (the only one that makes any sense).
Other than that the show left me with nothing but void in my heart (I guess that's when it all went). The saddest thing being the masses love it anyway, as it seems they'll watch anything that's colorful enough. And Riot will make lots of money of off it, because in the end they never loose. I'm not denying Fortiche absolutely outdid themselves with the art, it's just heartbreaking nothing else even remotely stands up to it.
