Only took 2 hours to get through the character creator - here's Grigo Ingellvar - mournwatch mage

THOUGHTS ON A MEASLY HALF AN HOUR OF ACTUAL GAMEPLAY UNDER CUT

Character creator is quite nice and varied - my only problems were that I wish the scar options included more... natural scar variants instead of like cool scarification style designs.

I got a bit lost in navigating the skin color settings so partly I might've not realized the full potential of it - but based on my observations the selection felt quite narrow.

I get why people say the dialogue writing feels cheesy based on the very limited amount I heard playing half an hour of the tutorial basically - for now I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt since it's literally the tutorial stage of it. I must say however that bc of it it doesn't really grab me into the game the same way the earlier installments beginnings did.

Now for the gameplay it DOES feel jarring coming out of all the earlier games - but getting past that I think it feels really rewarding, snappy and nice to use? I don't find it clunky the same way Inquisition's does. It's a very different play style but one I at least feel will get used to very fast.

One thing I had no doubts myself was the graphics- I think the game looks fantastic. I personally like the style choice they went with buuut also understand the criticisms for it lol - I think a lot of the screenshots seen on steam are just really crappy for some reason. Hopefully the quality of the graphics will hold up through the whole thing tho

I'm playing on the highest settings and so far absolutely no problems with running the game even mid combat on my mid tier beast. Epic

ANYWAY that's my thoughts, think I'll come up with a tag for my kinda amateur not really thought through review on the game - this means a lot to me and I want to talk about my experiences with it. I'm also writing all this bc I have some friends and mutuals who I KNOW are really unsure if they want to even get the game. Maybe my input will help with that in either direction
