My brain just brought back a random hurtful memory. That was end of 10th grade and we were walking in the forest near the school, because at the least days of school teachers love to do this, since it’s always way too hot inside. Anyways, I heard some girls were talking about Heartstopper. That they watched the series and even read the box. They even bragged about how those books are their only books in the shelf…that’s kinda sad. Not because of Heartstopper but rather the fact that they just owned like five books in their whole giant houses. I wanted to go to them and talk about it. I thought, this was my chance. I little shy queer, partly in the closet, who had to chance to exchange. “I mean it is so hyped. And I love hyped stuff, but still kinda gross. I mean in the book it’s fine, but imagine people being gay in real life.”, said one of the girls and the others agreed. Never talked much after hearing that this day. I never really came out in school besides to three teachers and my friend, but in the 11th and 12th grade I tried to show off a lot of cool queer shows and even wrote essays about them. I was glad at this point that I wasn’t living in America and no one in this town was actually religiously haunting homosexuals. In fact I am active in the christen church in my town and they are really open for everyone (We can literally play Mario in the church at night and yell at each other and the church actually supports that). I don’t know if those girls could tell that I was gay at that point, but honestly they didn’t even knew what the word genre meant. And I met other girls that were way better than them. So to anyone who lives in a small town, keep going, it gets better. And to middle school me I would probably say, usually girls are really cool, beautiful and nice you just stuck with the very rotten ones.

Extremely light Battlescape stuff because I wanna talk about them but have a million other things going on at the second. So I’ll just talk about where some of the background characters are in life, and what I want to do with them.

Myosotis works for Valkyrie and is friends with Anton. She’s one of the few people in the camp who doesn’t somewhat demonize him, and he’s greatly appreciative of her even though he still struggles to remember her.

Jenan would be good for Winter, I think. If he’s figured his life out and unraveled his toxic masculinity by the time he joins her little rebellion, I think he’d make a great voice of reason for her, especially seeing how he was once in the same position as her and made the same mistakes.

Never probably has a job of moving people from one place to the next as needed, which is a greatly needed commodity in their current world. They’d probably also go to visit Fletcher a lot and would team up with him and Militsa whenever they need help with something.

Scapegrace, Thrasher, and Clarabelle live in Roarhaven and still run their bar! It’s a lot more successful now that the city is so packed, and so they now have a few extra employees who can help out wherever needed. Life is hard, but they still get to be happy and make the most of what they’ve got.

Auger is a medic and works for Synecdoche, who in turn works alongside the Sanctuary (but refuses to work for them). Injuries are extremely high in Roarhaven and Auger is often completely exhausted and burnt out by the end of the day. However, I think he’d be friends with the zombie trio and he’d go to visit them sometimes to just hang out somewhere where he isn’t constantly having to expend his power as far as it will go. He also has no idea if Omen is alive or not, and neither does Never.

Erskine is sort of here? There’s a whole bunch of echo stones of him, a few of which contain a version of him before he teamed up with the Children of the Spider. Anton keeps every single one of these echo stones safe and hasn’t told anyone else of their existence. Even he stumbled upon them accidentally.

I want to include some of Skulduggery’s siblings that AREN’T Confelicity in this AU, so they’ll probably be scattered around and not doing too much, although a bunch of them trying to hunt down Gog Magog would make for a great side-plot.

I’m still debating whether or not Val’s parents will be dead in this AU. I have no idea how far in the future it will be set (although it’ll probably be less than a hundred years) and there are a LOT of ways that they could’ve died in the meantime, but I also feel vaguely bad about killing them. But also, this whole AU is about tormenting people, I could totally just kill them.

Aaaaand that’s about all I can think of. Not talking about characters like Frightening, Sanguine, Dusk, Stephanie, Kierre, and so on because I’ve already discussed them in previous posts. Have fun with this I guess? Giving attention to the most niche characters I could think of because I have ✨ideas✨ for them.

I have never understood people's fondness for pathetic characters in fiction until I started re-reading Skulduggery Pleasant and remembered that Vaurien Scapegrace exists.

Chapter 1: Skulduggery and Valkyrie meet Scapegrace, don't take him seriously, kick his ass, and arrest him. The final paragraph:

Chapter 15: Scapegrace (SG), in POV, witnesses Skulduggery kill Valkyrie because the Tormentor ask him to in exchange for information.

Ncwaaa, you wanna be a serial killer? Bully for you! You follow your dreams, man! Don't let the scary skeleton man and 13-year-old girl stop you!

As a man who almost cries a lot from frustration, this is the representation I need😂Just imagine if any other Villain was written like that?

I love Scapegrace being the most unserious gag Villain I've ever read. Please send me other books/series/movies with characters like this. I need more pathetic villains😂😂😂
