1, 2 (you know who this is about), 3, 6, 7, 8, 16, 19, 23, 25 for the voiolence ask game :333
17 (Strinker), 23, 24 (Vox), and 25 (Stolas) for the other fandom ask game :333
YAYYYYYY I LOVE ANSWERING THINGS!!!!!!! :DDDDDD thanks babe ily!!!!!!!!! <33333333
violence ask game og post here!
1. the character everyone gets wrong i suffer from a disease called "im the only one with correct opinions about every character ever" so i kind of feel this way about everyone all the time HJKLSDFHJKL.......but maybe its just bc im so Him For Real, but i feel it a lot with blitzo????? i feel like hes the character where i see the most takes about him that i fundamentally disagree with. it doesnt help that his character writing is so shitty tho.
2. a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom I DO KNOW EXACTLY WHO ITS ABOUT. BLITZO. sjhkdfhjksdf kind of ties into the thing i said above and not EXACLTY what the question is asking but. that man is a SUB. i am being so so serious when i say that everyone who thinks he is/writes him as a dom and/or top doesnt understand him as a character. its partially bc stolitz's writing is so godawful, but like. its not even. subtext??? that this man is a sub/bottom??? its just text. its so obvious that they basically say it. YES he ACTS like a dom thats the FUCKING POINT. HES LYING. hes putting on an act and YOU ALL FELL FOR IT. this man is not emotionally vulnerable enough to let himself indulge in the side of kink/sex that he wants, so he never does. especially since stolas only wants him when hes acting like a top/dom. blitz rolls his eyes and drags his feet in sex because hes not getting anything out of it. again it doesnt help that he doesnt LIKE stolas but he would LIKE HIM MORE if they were on the same page in bed. AND LIKE??? the reason i say its not even subtext is because this is a preference blitz obviously has since SEASON ONE (see: STRIKER), but as stolitz develops romantically in canon, we can see stolas indulging him more. the only time blitz has EVER been aroused on screen is when stolas (and striker) is taking control. the one other time you could argue is at the end of truth seekers where AGAIN they practically STATE that hes not by showing that blitz is only acting this way in the bedroom for stolas. hsjkdfhjksdf if i keep talking about this im gonna start foaming at the mouth I HAVE TO MOVE ON
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr LMAO SJKDFLHJKSDFL there are too many. some of my (least) favorites include takes such as "stolas is introduced as a good father", "blitzker is more toxic than stolitz", and "husk is in the wrong during loser, baby". you are all so fucking stupid. i hope you get well soon
6. which ship fans are the most annoying? RADIOAPPLE. they are SO FUCKING ANNOYING. I HATE THEM. its one thing to have the worst shipping take ever but then theyre always the loudest and most un-based motherfuckers in the world. nothing quite makes me seethe with rage the way seeing that fuckass ship appear in EVERY TAG does. go on try it. look in any hellaverse tag right now and scroll 3 times. i guarantee radioapple will come up. i know because i HAVE THE TAG BLOCKED.
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because of how the fandom acts about them? alastor :( i mean i knew it was coming. i LOVE LOVE LOVE our rewrite/""yarnsnake"" alastor so much but canon and ESPECIALLY fanon alastor is so fucking boring. they took out any intimidation from his character at all and made him just another guy who swears every 3 seconds and that only exists to be o.p and give cringey quips. and the fandom LOVES that for some reason?? as if the SHOW hasnt toned him down enough, all the fans either turn him into this weirdly sexualized dom character or this cutesy villain with a secret soft side and UUGHHHHJKSDFHJK SHUT THE FUCK UP. he would not fucking say that!!!!!!!!!
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about OOOHHH this is a good one. umm......kind of ties into the above answer, but i genuinely keep seeing people saying that they think alastor is gonna get a redemption arc/saying that he has a secret "good" side and loves the people at the hotel. yall. youre being manipulated HJKLSDFHJKLHJK. i see a lot of "lute was in love with adam" and vise versa too which. idk. its fine. im sure itll probably be canon. but im too obsessed with them being close friends with benefits that play cod together and otherwise have no attachments LMAOSHDJKFLHSDJKL. there are for sure more but im blanking, might revisit this later
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc) ANOTHER REALLY GOOD ONE. stolitz instantly came to mind HJKSDLFHJKL just the whole ship. specifically the arc in the show. also huskerdust? not the ship itself but the characterization. its the same flavor of evil that stolitz is just without the power imbalance. vivzie wants sexual assault in all of her leading ships soooo badddd. i hate the fandom take (loosely based on canon) of husk being ""into it"" the whole time angel was harassing him. makes me fuckin GAG.
19. youre mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like... STOLITZ BEING CHILDHOOD FRIENDS. omg critics usually HATTTTEEEE this shit!!!!!! and i totally see where theyre coming from. ""the circus"" was OBVIOUSLY just meant to humanize stolas/shift the ""blame"" onto blitz instead by making it seem like he initiated it/made stolas think he wanted this (which doesnt make it right but wtever). and the childhood friends (if you can even call them friends) IS so nothing......but im such a sucker for this trope. i actually think its really cute. IDKKKK i think it ties into how i genuinely think that stolitz couldve been good if they had lead with this. since he started off as a villain and had a very rocky transition into being """not a villain""" despite still being horrifically evil, the show is stuck in this weird place of trying to TELL us that stolas is good and worthy of redemption while SHOWING us that hes not. if he was a villain at the start, they shouldve stuck to their guns and kept him that way. if they wanted him and blitz to have a romance, then they shoudlnt have fucking started the show like this. its too late to go back and fix it and the circus is a very clear showing of them trying and failing to do so.....AND YET. i still think its sweet. it makes me yearn for a show where they remeet as adults and start reforming a FRIENDSHIP instead of a weird sex deal. it wouldve actually been cute and compelling to see them observe how the world has hardened and changed the other and finding out that they still love each other despite it. how they both were so deply hurt by the circumstances and yet still managed to grow in a way that left room for the other. AUGHHHHHH. << ripping my hair out
23. ship that youve unwillingly come around to sighhh. stolitz and huskerdust. <///////3 but ONLY our very specific rewrites of them. also honeymoon??? i was really NOT convinced about them at first just cause i didnt like bee but idk, ive changed my tune a little <3333 honestly ive kinda willingly come around for everyship JSDJHKF like chaggie/fallenstar??? CUTE. exceedingly boring in canon but cute.
25. common fandom complaint that youre sick of hearing i guess i dont really get that sick of fandom complaints......at least i cant think of many off the top of my head......this kind of goes for all fandoms but im very sick of hearing "UGH can everyone stop saying (insane take) đ" and the take is just something that no one has ever said. like one person has a sort of lukewarm opinion and 300+ people have to make a post bitching about it like its a real problem that exists. it doesnt. calm down.
fandom ask game og post here!
17. What's a book, movie, or show you think [Striker] would like? OOOHHHHH...........damn this is hard......i cant get into his head as easily as you (presumably) can.......shkdjfhjksdf he kinda strikes me as someone who would be a little snobby about literature tbh. he likes the classics <333 maybe especially classic horror <333 phantom of the opera came to mind which i think is fitting cause weve also established hes a musical theater guy <33333
23. Has your favorite character/ship changed over time? OH yea. i remember back in the Early Hazbin Days my fave was angel dust and my favorite ship was radiodust. i was thirteen so im gonna give myself a little slack here but i still shudder when i think about it JHKHSFJKHJK. now my fave hazbin character is probably vox or rosie <3 and my favorite ship is polyvees!!!! they are so evil polycule. to me. as for helluva, back in the day when i genuinely like the show it was only just starting out. i think my favorite character was robofizz? which is so funny now that ive got a user based on him JHKSDFHJKHJKSDF he is so nothing now </////3 i DID like stolitz but TO BE FAIR. that was in its crackship era. like when we were all like "imagine if they started getting serious about this LOL wouldnt that be hilarious". (it was not hilarious). now my favorite character is STRIKER by a MILEEEE. and my fave ship is blitzker/rewritten stolitz!! <333
24. What's your favorite thing about [Vox]? well. he gets Christian Borle points. we only hatewatched this show in the first place for His Voice. but i do also just really like his general little mannerisms :3 i like how he glitches when he gets flustered/overwhelmed, and how his smile raises and falls depending on who hes with/around. i actually think his body language is really interesting and fun to analyze!!! manipulative little shit. i hope he overheats and explodes
25. What's your least favourite thing [Stolas] said or did? where do i fucking start. there are so many things about this fucker i cant stand. the one that always comes to mind is the interaction at the beginning of LooLooLand. TWO things he says are SO YUCKY GROSS SLIMEY. these lines:
i hate that blitz had to ask. it makes me feel so gross. i know this was still stolas' villain era but it genuinely icks me out SO MUCH seeing how MISERABLE blitz is early on in their relationship. he is so desperate for this job that he would put up with being sexually assaulted/humiliated in public. im so sorry blitzy, one day soon youll find a cowboy who treats you right :///// the other one (from the same scene) that i HATTTEEE is this interaction with via he has right before
Stolas: I'll pay you.~
Blitzo: ...Pay me what?
Stolas: Money.~
WHY. WOULD YOU SAY THAT. TO YOUR UNDERAGE DAUGHTER. and hes so confused when she doesnt like him?? :/// this isnt even mentioning that he openly, sexually flirts with blitz in front of her both on the phone immediately afterwards and all day at the park. i think he should die for real actually. a few honorable mentions include the infamous murder family phone call, assaulting his imp butler, neglecting his daughter, and (intentionally or not) implying that he only wants blitz for sex post-ozzies.
Stolas: They want our money and our bodies.
Octavia: Our money, maybe...
Stolas: Speak for yourself, princess.
THAT TOOK SO LONG IM SORRYYYYYYYYYYYY I HOPE YOU HAVE FUN READING ALL THESE THANKS FOR ASKINGGG :DDDDDDDDD MWMEMWEMWMEWMWEM <33333

The Impact of ChatGPT and AI Tools on Education and Jobs in 2025
AI is everywhere these days, right? From the apps on your phone to the email inbox, it has changed the way we live, learn, and work. No, and I mean no, weâve not been discussing the cool self-driving car or the cat-scaring robot vacuum. The most impressive AI advancement in recent history has been ChatGPT, and, mark my words- itâs decidedly not a folly chatbot. It aims to revolutionize education and jobs, and, understandably, that could be shocking; so let's buckle up and look at how AI tools like ChatGPT will change the game by the time we reach 2025. Whatâs the Buzz About ChatGPT and AI?
ChatGPT, which automates the human processing of conversation by understanding and generating human like text. Essentially itâs your super smart digital friend somewhere thatâs always there to answer the questions, write your essay, take public notes for you and even offer career advice. It wonât have your back as you wait for your kidâs lunch, but it might have your back so you skip it if youâre stuck on that essay.
ChatGPT is not a new thing, and itâs not a fad, itâs not a passing trend. ChatGPT can do so much in education, in the workplace, everywhere. In education, itâs helping to personalize learning experiences for students, and in jobs, itâs increasing productivity, automating repetitive tasks, yes, and even making your job easier â but itâs not here to fully replace (at least not yetâŠ)How AI is Changing Education
Alright, letâs talk about education. You know that feeling when youâre sitting in a class, and the teacher moves on to the next topic while youâre still trying to figure out what just happened? AI tools like ChatGPT are here to make sure that never happens again.
1) Personalized Learning for Every Student
What if you had your own personal tutor always available, 24/7? No, itâs not a dream, itâs ChatGPT! The AI tool is available to explain complex topics, ask and answer questions and give you help when you need it with your homework. Even AI can help you get going if your brain isn't firing on (wake) all cylinders in the morning (true story!). Itâs like a tutor who doesnât judge you for missing your 8 a.m. class.
No matter what it is you want to learn, ChatGPTâs tailoring of assistance to your speed make it a perfect tool for increasing your knowledge or problem solving. Itâs your personal assistant in a world where there is no âone size fits allâ about learning.
2) Helping Teachers Work Smarter (Not Harder)
There's a lot for teachers to juggle. She grades papers, she plans lessons, she herds students who sometimes act as if they were âjustâ sugared up⊠Itâs no easy feat. It is here where AI comes into play. ChatGPT and other AI tools perform some grunt work on your behalf, like grading, putting assignments in order, even providing feedback. Itâs kind of like giving teachers a superpower, only without the cape (because, you know: capes in the classroom can be dangerous).
This doesnât guarantee teachers will be replaced by robots, far from it. Teachers will have more time to focus on what they do best: creating those âaha!â moments, that make learning unforgettable, while engaging with students.
3) Real-Time Help and Access for Everyone
What is life for a student living in a remote village, without quality education? And now consider ChatGPT as your classroom companion, to reach out to whenever you might need. With AI, education is becoming more accessible â even for those in places where access to high quality schooling might be scarce. By the time AI tools like ChatGPT are solidly becoming part of education in 2025, we will have equally accessible education for all the students of the world.
AI in Jobs: The Good, the Bad, and the Opportunities
Okay, now onto jobs. Weâve all heard the rumors: âAI is going to steal our jobs!â While that may sound like something out of a sci-fi movie, the reality is a bit more⊠nuanced. Letâs break it down.
1) Job Automation â AIâs Efficiency
ChatGPT, though, is really good at repetitive tasks. Imagine the amount of repetitive drudgery you did everyday at work â replying to the same emails, filing information, creating presentations that you just know wonât be looked at. Well, guess what? AI can handle that for you. Itâs like an overly qualified intern who needs no coffee break. Customer support chatbot, generating written content, and data analysis are all things that can be handled by ChatGPT with minimum effort.
But hereâs the catch: Some of these repetitive jobs will be eventually being taken over by AI. Take, for example, customer service agents, who may be replaced by chatbots; writers, fighting with AI to churn out content. Kind of scary to think about but also kind of fun to think about it in terms of how much more creative, strategic time weâll have.
2) Creating New Jobs with AI
But donât worry yet â that same AI wonât be just taking jobs away. Itâs also creating them. As more and more industries incorporate AI people who are able to create, manage, and maintain the system will be in high demand. You could be designing the next AI tool or training a chatbot to handle customer inquiries, like tracking late deliveries.
By 2025, industries such as tech, healthcare, marketing, and finance will have more need than ever for AI professionals. Therefore, if one is thinking of changing career or upskilling, it may not be a bad time to get into the AI related fields then.
3) Human-AI Collaboration â The Dynamic Duo
Hereâs the secret: AI and humans donât have to wage war. They can be teammates. What if we imagined that we live in a world where AI is responsible for dealing with the top of the totem pole: boring emails, scanning this off the CW, sorting it and then letting the human do the creative side, like create marketing campaigns that actually sound different? That is exactly what ChatGPT sort of does, and similar AI tools. Theyâre not here to take your place, theyâre here to take the fat off your workload and make it more exciting for you. Itâs the dream team!
For example, in marketing AI can review customer data and generate reports, and humans can breathe life into this data by creating targeted campaigns. AI can help doctors with diagnosis in health care, but it is human doctors who make those critical decisions.
Whatâs Next for AI in 2025?
Around in the year 2025, we expect AI to be even more permeated in our education and jobs. Donât worry the robots arenât coming for your jobâŠat least not yet (unless you happen to be a robot). AI will be used to help you learn better, to work smarter (and spend a few minutes less on work) and even to have some free time. The point is for us to give up the race versus it and understand how to work with it.
Conclusion
AI drives the future of both education and jobs. Using tools like ChatGPT, education is getting more and more personalized, while in the work place, AI is freeing up time for us to do other more important stuff. The idea is not to replace people with it but to create a partnership by making use of people with AIâs power to enhance the potential of human kind.
Itâs time to embrace the AI revolution whether youâre a student, trying to ace that test or a worker, trying to keep pace with the pace of change. You know what the future is bright? Most are AI powered possibilities.

Hello Shannen! Hey, I was curious, What do you think the Obey Me Boys would do in this scenario: They enter a room after being busy for the whole day, they hear a soft intake of breath and then Their name in a very soft and adoring voice, as if to just themselves, the MC being surprised that they got to see them and it just gives them all the fuzzies đđ (I find myself doing this sometimes when I havenât seen my loved ones in like a day and I didnât expect to see them for longer đ)
Oi that is so frickin cute anon. I fuckin melt for soft stuff like this it's so cute and wholesome đ„ș
Lucifer:
he's busy most of the time honestly
It's just something that you have to become accustomed too
He usually just holes himself up in his office to finish his work up in peace
so you usually don't see him unless you go to check in on him yourself
However, he had to meet up with Diavolo earlier so he ended up missing dinner.
The plan was to eat when he got home but he was given a pile of papers the prince insisted were urgent
so now that those were finished he was starving
When he stepped into the kitchen though he heard a gasp followed by his name whispered in an all too familiar voice
He glanced over to see you over by one of the cabinets with an expression somewhere between excitement and surprise
His heart practically melted and he smiled softly.
"Hello Mc. I was about to grab something to eat. Would you mind joining me?"
Mammon:
He's practically glued to your side 24/7 so it's odd not having him around for a while
But he caught a molding gig that pays well despite the fact that it was planned to run all day long
and of course the Avatar of Greed couldn't turn down a job to earn a bit of extra cash
And sure enough he didn't get finished with the shoot until a bit after dinner.
He walked into the house, planning to go look for you
but as soon as he got through the door he heard a small gasp and his name mumbled from the stairs
His heart skipped several beats seeing you sitting on the steps staring at the door waiting up for him
"We're ya waiting on me? Of course you'd be waitin' on the Great Mammon! Come on I'll tell ya all about the shoot!"
Leviathan:
- It's rare that the otaku snake boy ever left his room
but unfortunately when you're Grand Admiral of Hell's Navy, you have to actually do official Navy business or whatever
So Leviathan was actually out of the house for once
He got back pretty Late but Luckily he was back before the newest episode of the latest anime he was watching aired.
He had it set to record just in case but it's always so much better to watch it as soon as it airs
But he didn't expect to hear your voice softly muttering his name when he opened the door to his room.
he forgot he said you could play some of his video games while he was gone
"Oh Mc! I didn't expect to see you today. Not-- Not that I mind! It just started me. Did you want to watch the newest Ruri-chan episode with me?"
Satan:
You actually aren't entirely certain where Satan went.
You saw him earlier that morning and it looked like he might have been plotting something with Belphie but you didn't bother to ask not wanting to get mixed up in whatever prank they were plotting.
Sure enough the Anti-Lucifer duo did plan a prank earlier that day and since Lucifer was at a meeting it was the perfect time to execute it
He and belphie had spent most of the day taping and gluing everything directly to Lucifer's desk
now all that was left was to avoid punishment from the eldest who would no doubt be pissed.
His plan was to grab a few books then head out to a cafe or something
but when he hear you gasp slight and whisper his name he got butterflies in his stomach
"Ah hello Mc. I haven't seen you all day. I was just about to head out actually would you like to come along?"
Asmodeus:
The ever so popular avatar of Lust is constantly out and about
whether it be shopping or meeting his fans or just straight-up partying all night
today was no different he had texted earlier asking if you wanted to go out shopping with him
but you had an important test coming up and if you didn't want Lucifer to skin you alive you have to study
Of course Asmo was out late though. He just gets distracted by succubi who want a picture with him and there are so many different outfits to try on
shopping is an entire event for Asmo
He did manage to make it home before dinner for once though
So after dropping his many shopping bags off at his room he heads over to your room
He practically beams when he hears your voice softly speaking his name
"Mc Darling! Did you miss me? You'll never guess who I ran into earlier today!"
Beelzebub:
He is pretty good at letting you know where he'll be for the day if he's going somewhere
So you were well aware you wouldn't see Beel for quite a while because of his sports practice and the game he had later
However a bit over halfway through his game it started to storm pretty badly.
so the game ended up getting postponed due to dangerous weather
So he stopped by Madam Scream's on the way home picking up something for you too
When he got home he found you sitting in the common area.
Before he could call out to you he heard you softly say his name leading him to widely smile at you
"Hey Mc. The game got called off. But I got us some cookies! I only ate one of yours sorry..."
Belphegor:
the most mysterious thing about Belphie was where he would disappear to for half of the day
You could never find him no matter how much you looked for him
at this point it was just easier to wait for him to show up whenever he feels like it
Of course the fact that you can't find Belphie is because he simply doesn't want to be found by anyone
Sometimes it's just better to hide and have guaranteed peaceful naps rather than having to deal with someone waking you up
so after hiding under the kitchen sink for hours on end Belphie decided it was time to find a more comfortable spot
when he went up to lie in the attic though he heard you say his name so softly he thought he imagined it at first
"Hi there Mc. I was just about to take another nap. You're going to join me right?"
#obey me#obey me shall we date#obey me lucifer#obey me mammon#obey me leviathan#obey me satan#obey me asmodeus#obey me beelzebub#obey me belphegor#obey me headcanons

departure (haiba lev)
ćșć (ç°çŸœ ăȘăšăŒă)
a departure doesnât always guarantee a return
4128 words
post time skip! model lev, fiances, angst, concept of waiting, alt ending (w/ closure)
a (reuploaded) req for a certain lev lover <3
Haiba Lev wasnât the most level headed person. He was blunt, foolish, assertive, and sometimes, a simpleton. And yet, despite his innumerable flaws, you loved him.
You adored the discordant, entwined, looping threads that made up for who he was, his strengths and weaknesses, every fibre of his being. Furthermore, your love was unyielding; a delicate yet persistent wild flower, sprung from the cracks in concrete.
Your love for the male stemmed from your starting days in high school. It was a random encounter, in which he bumped into you in a hallway, and then somehow, you began fawning over the half Russian.
Inconspicuously, you would watch him from afar: walking by the gym to sneak glances, matching up your schedule with the volleyball clubâs, just to catch glimpses of him during their laps around the school.
You were fascinated with the long limbed teenâs energy and presence on the court. He was handsome too, his facial and body structure flawlessly sculpted by God himself to be the epitome of masculinity.
Your puppy love and admiration for him motivated you to travel far and wide to watch his volleyball matches, with hopes that maybe one day, Lev would notice you.
Lev wasnât the brightest with a few things, with consciousness of his surroundings topping his list. Your encounter with him had slipped his mind, since it meant only so little, and he never realised you were in the same cohort, for peteâs sake.
If it werenât for Kenma, who had pointed you out among the spectators, he wouldnât have realised you always watched their matches. So he decided to approach you after one, and asked if you were from Nekoma High. You were momentarily stunned, then gave him a radiant smile, one so bright he would never forget.
After that, the two of you hit it off effortlessly. Within a few months, your freshly sprouted friendship with Lev blossomed into something more. Years passed, both of you graduated, and the two of you were still going strong, happily dating. The now esteemed model and you even began contemplating on a larger milestone, one which would change both of your lives forever.
That is, until Lev received an ominous phone call that presaged the end of your current chapter.
It happened too quickly to say for sure what was going on. He had told you the night before, as he held you in his arms, that he would be gone for a while. That he needed to attend to some personal matters back at home.
Levâs tone was a little too quiet when he broke the news. âI⊠gotta leave for a while, (y/n).â He was holding you close, arms draped around your waist and legs tangled with yours.
You stopped circling your finger around his bicep to glance up at him. Studying the distant look in his green orbs, you raised your brows. âOkay, where to?â
âRussia. My grandma wants me to return immediately.â Levâs attention shifted from the ceiling to your curious gaze. His warm, minty breath fanned your face as he exhaled. âI think Iâll take a while.â
âOhâŠâ You rest your cheek on his chest, lashes fluttering close as you murmured. âIâll miss you, but I can wait. Just donât keep me waiting for long, alright?â
âMhmm, okay.â Smiling tenderly, Lev peppered your skin with kisses, making you giggle. You slowly opened your eyes to take in the way the moonlight from the balcony glossed over his flawless, pale skin.
Levâs fingers hovered over the silver band on your ring finger, lingering there before taking your hand in his. His own matching ring clinked against yours softly when you laced your fingers with his, your warm palms heating up his cold ones as you dozed off, flushed against his chest.
When morning came, he was gone. You had failed to bid him goodbye as Levâs egression was committed silently. The days passed like any other, and you would text him once in a while to check up on him. However, you never received a response. Not on SMS. Not on social media. Nowhere.
Days trickled to weeks, months, and by the third one, you were too overwhelmed with paranoia. After deep recollection, you realised he never told you when he would return. Surely, his departure meant a return, right?
You had asked the Nekoma volleyball club alumni and his friends of his whereabouts, and they all told you the same thing: they didnât know. Desperate, you attempted to contact his sister Alisa, but to no avail. Both Haiba siblings were uncontactable, and the calls always went to voicemail.
Over the days, your fear and anxiety manifested into dark rings, rimming your puffy eyelids. Life went on whilst your heart and mind ran rampant, and eventually, you stopped appearing at work.
Not a day went by without you thinking of him. Your fiancé plagued your mind and heart 24/7, and it was impossible to stop thinking about him.
Where is he? When will he return? Whatâs taking him so long? Why is he not home yet? Has he forgotten about me?
Did Lev forget that Iâm still waiting for him?
âŠ
The front door to your shared apartment creaked slowly, and a raven haired man in a dark suit shuffled in. He closed the door slowly, his pupils dilating to compensate for the lack of light entering the apartment. The once bright green plants lining the balcony were drooping in their eternal shade, signifying that the curtain had not been drawn in days.
The man slipped off his shoes and socks, taking notice of the unworn, white slippers by the front door, then shuffled in. You glanced up from the blankets when you heard the soft padding of feet.
Your heart threatened to leap out of your chest as your eyes grew wide with anticipation. âLev?â You croaked, hauling yourself to a sitting position. âIs that you?â
The door slowly creaked open to reveal your colleague and good friend, Kuroo TetsurĆ. Your smile faded away, and your lips pressed into a thin line.
âSorry Iâm not who you think I am.â The male stood by the now open doorway, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
Ever since you stopped showing up at work, Kuroo would check up on you every weekend, and sometimes the posse would tag along too. The ex-captain had your apartmentâs spare key, thanks to Lev, who randomly picked the holder during your home warming party.
You glanced down at the crumpled bed sheets as he walked into the dusty bedroom. Kuroo drew open the curtains leisurely, filling the room with a dim, blue light whilst multi coloured lights from the skyscrapers across the balcony twinkled with animosity. Specks of dust scattered in the air, latching onto the nearby furniture while some drifted aimlessly. The end of the bed dipped as he sat down, and you looked up to find him scrutinising you with a furrowed frown.
âHave you been eating well?â His eyes trailed over your sunken cheeks and jaundiced skin. Your face was devoid of your usual, radiant glow.
You glanced away from his piercing amber eyes. The eyes in the photos atop the nightstand bore holes into your soul as you rasped, âWhy are you here? If itâs about work, I already told you that I asked my section manager to let me work from homeââ
â(y/n), thatâs not why Iâm here.â Kuroo interrupted with a huff. Cloth rustled as he fished his phone out of his jacketâs inner pocket. With a few soft taps, he turned to you, and showed you his screen. You squinted your eyes and unconsciously leaned closer to read the blurry, digital print.
âSUPERMODELS HAIBA LEV AND RUSSIAN ACTRESS KHRISTINA SNOW POTTED LEAVING LUXURIOUS HOTEL TOGETHERâ
Your eyes threatened to pop out of their sockets as you absorbed the image below the title. It was indeed your fiancé, you could recognise his broad shoulders and otherworldly jawline a mile away.
Dressed in a crisp suit, Levâs arm was linked with a dainty woman, whose diamond necklace scintillated under the harsh glare of camera lights. The pencil skirt clinging to her wide hips had a scandalously long slit that stopped at her upper thigh, exposing her red lacey panties by a hair length.
Both of them had sunglasses on, but only the woman had a gleeful expression, while Levâs lips were pressed together tightly. Just like the title had stated, they seemed to be walking away from an edifice constructed of solely glass panels, and you instantly recognised it. It was a renowned, five star hotel. In Japan.
You were too stunned to say anything. Even your mind, which had been incessantly filled with nothing but your lover, was now blank. The information overload was overwhelming.
This is all too much.
Suddenly, Kuroo withdrew his phone, pulling you back to reality with it. âSo, Iâm guessing you didnât know?â He raised a dark brow as he pocketed his electronic device. âThe articleâs from some lowly paparazzi, so I doubt anythingâs true⊠But itâs blowing up on Twitter.â
Your eyes flickered from your trembling hands to the bed sheets as you began quietly. âI⊠I thought he left for RussiaâŠâ Gripping the covers on your lap, your eyes silently brimmed with tears as you continued shakily, âI donât know whatâs going on anymore. Iâm so confusedâŠâ
Kurooâs gaze never left you as you began shaking uncontrollably. He knew that you were desperately fighting back your tears. It was something you did often back in high school: you would try not to cry in front of the team when they won a match, despite your voice breaks and your glassy eyes. It was something the boys found endearing, especially Lev.
The raventte cursed inwardly at his juniorâs stupidity. How could he make such a lovely girl like you cry? Wordlessly, the male shifted closer and pulled you into his chest, surprising you but you didnât retreat.
Kurooâs gesture was nothing but friendly, after all. He patted your back reassuringly, and your bottom lip trembled as you clung onto his shirt.
Pitter patter.
Your tears fell like torrents, gushing endlessly as you buried your face into his chest. Gripping tightly onto his dress shirt, you cried into the fabric, wailing the pent up emotions you had kept at bay the past few months. You wept like tomorrow would never come.
âŠ
A few days had passed and you finally decided to confront Lev. Seeing how he wouldnât respond to your messengers, you decided to hunt him down and talk to him face to face. It was easy to track him down, thanks to the âlowly paparazziâ website, which constantly updated his whereabouts. For once, you were grateful for his overbearing fans.
To be fair, you felt a little bad about his own privacy, but you were also too engulfed in a mixture of confusion, jealousy and infuriation to sympathise with him.
You had everything planned out, what to say and retort, and you had to remind yourself that as much as he deserved to be heard out, you also had a right to be upset with him. Especially after the emotional and mental torment he intentionally (or unintentionally) subjected you to.
But it was impossible to deny that you had hoped that he had a good explanation for everything. You prayed fervently that he would return to your arms, like he always did. Memories of past, better days solely stabilised you during this emotional period.
When the weekend arrived, you threw on a your coat and hopped into your car and drove off. Apparently, Lev and Khristina, were dining at a high class café, located in the fancier suburbs of Tokyo. When you reached there, you parked your car by the sidewalk and sauntered in, ignoring the valet who glanced at you then at your vehicle.
Honestly, you never thought you would see the day when you would resort to stalking your fiancé, just to have a talk with him. But this was no ordinary talk, and the half blood knew when he saw you walk into the café.
You were fuming, brows scrunched up with the angriest expression he had ever seen in his life. Lev jumped up in his seat, like he had seen the ghost of Christmas past, and quickly excused himself.
As he shuffled towards the entrance, he met you halfway and tugged you outside by the wrist. His strides were quick, and he hissed when you dug your fingernails into his hand in defiance.
âLet me go!â You snapped fiercely, like a tigress baring its jaws at its adversary. He released you from his hold when he reached his destination: the back alleys of the shops.
The silver haired man didnât back away. He was looking at you with shock, hurt and something else. Was it fear, nervousness? You couldnât tell. You were too frustrated with him.
â(y/n)⊠I can explainââ He began, a hand outstretched but you cut him off.
âI told you Iâd wait, didnât I?â You glared up at him with narrowed eyes. His aghast expression wedged the knife deeper in your heart as you inhaled. âYou⊠You said you had to leave. And I believed you! But four months passed and you didnât bother to contact me. Not even onceâŠâ
Lev ran a hand through his now disheveled hair, which was pushed back until now. âPlease, let me explain. I had my reasons, I swear.â
You realised the engagement ring on his finger was nowhere to be seen. Your lover opened his mouth to explain when you deadpanned.
âWhereâs your ring?â
Levâs eyes widened, from fright or concern, you werenât sure. His usually bright, green orbs would he glowing with love whenever he gazed at you, but not today.
â(y/n), Iââ
âLove, whoâs that?â Came a sweet, enchanting voice at the start of the alley. It was Khathrina, a long legged lady with platinum blonde hair that cascaded down her back in voluminous waves.
She blinked her thick, wispy lashes at you curiously, and you clenched your jaw in retaliation. Glancing at Lev, you hoped that he would put her in her place. Anything along the lines of âsheâs my girlfriendâ or âfiancĂ©â would have suffice, but no. It was a far fetched dream.
âNo one, my dear.â Came Levâs response, and he walked past you, bumping shoulders into you in the process. You gasped quietly when he cast you a cold, once over behind his broad shoulders.
He had looked at you as if the two of you had never met before. It burned a hole in your stomach, and you were too stunned to react. Frozen in your spot, your facade crumbled with every step he took, further away from you and to someone else.
When he reached the womanâs side, the duo linked arms and departed without another word.
âŠ
You fumbled with your keys for the hundredth time. It took you a whole five minutes to enter your apartment, and when you did, you slammed the door shut behind you and slumped to the floor.
What on earth was that? How could he do that to me? How is that the same boy I fell in love with?
You had driven over to confront Lev, but in the end all you got was a deeper scar. Everything made no sense, and your mind throbbed with confusion and fatigue.
Everything became blurry as tears overwhelmed your vision, and you tugged at your shirt, at the thorn embedded in your heart. It was so close yet so far and out of reach. Drawing your knees to your chest, you cried your heart out once again.
Moments passed with you laying at the entrance, gazing at the unworn white slippers speckled with dust.
âŠ
Like before, days spun into weeks, months, and even a year. Eventually, you deserted your shared apartment and rented a place, one far away from your previous home. You had only taken your clothes and necessities, leaving behind the photo frames and everything else as everything reminded you of him.
It would be a lie to claim that you didnât miss him, but you had partially given up when the news stated that supermodels Lev and Khathrina were now married.
It made no sense, really. Perhaps this was all a bad dream, you reasoned, fiddling with the silver band around your ring. Maybe you were in a coma, and this was all a lengthy nightmare that you would soon wake up from.
Yes, when you wake up, your fiancé would be next to you, lying in bed, chest rising in steady rhythms whilst the morning sun shines on his handsome face. Haiba would turn around to greet you good morning through half lidded eyes, and he would tuck your hair behind your ears with a cheeky, yet gentle smile.
Thereâs no way any of this is realâŠ! Weâve come so far, and he loves me more than anyone can imagine.
But as time passed, you began to realise that, perhaps Haiba Lev had departed long ago.
(ALT. END)ăăăăăăăă
You fumbled with your keys for the hundredth time. It took you a whole five minutes to enter your apartment, and when you did, you slammed the door shut behind you and slumped to the floor.
What on earth was that? How could he do that to me? How is that the same boy I fell in love with back then?
You had driven over to confront Lev, but in the end all you got was a deeper scar. Everything made no sense, and your mind throbbed with confusion and fatigue.
Everything became blurry as tears overwhelmed your vision, and you tugged at your shirt, at the thorn embedded in your heart. It was so close yet so far and out of reach. Drawing your knees to your chest, you cried your heart out once again.
Out of nowhere, your phone began vibrating.
Sniffling, you fished it out of your coat and accepted the call blindly. âH-Hello?â You stuttered, rubbing away your tears with the back of your hand.
âItâs me, (y/n).â The familiar warm, low voice of Levâs filled the silent room. Your eyes grew wide in shock, and you glanced at the caller ID to realise it wasnât his usual phone number. âI donât have much time, Iâll be gone by tomorrow, love.â
âTomorrow? What?â You parroted, albeit dumbly as you raked your foggy mind for clarity.
You could almost imagine the frown on your boyfriendâs face when he blabbered. âAre you crying? I mean, were youâŠ?â His voice trailed off, and you quickly blurted out that you werenât.
A soft chuckle graced your ears and you felt the frustration and sadness from before ebb away. Leaning against the door, you listened attentively as he directed you to a location where he had agreed to rendezvoused. No sooner had he ended the call did you fly out of the apartment.
When you reached the park, you realised it was already midnight. You waited by a willow tree he had mentioned to you, and within a few minutes, he showed up.
You had lost all your fight and gave in to temptation. Throwing your arms around Lev, you held him in a tight embrace as you buried your face into his neck. Grinning widely, the âskyscrapperâ wrapped his arms around your back and rest his head atop yours, humming softly.
âI missed you, (y/n).â He had whispered softly, as if he was afraid that you would disappear any moment. âIâm always thinking of you, your smile, your smellâŠâ
Shamelessly, he pressed his face against your head and inhaled it greedily. You giggled at the warm air tickling your scalp then looked up at him with glossy, doe eyes. âI missed you too. More than you can imagine.â
âHey, Iâm here now,â and Levâs smile began to fade as he set you down onto your feet. Taking your hand, he guided you to sit under the beautiful willow tree. âI promised Iâd tell you everything, and I will.â
As the moon waned in the night sky, you listened intently as the silver haired man explained to you what had happened the past few months. He went into detail that he had received a call from his tragically ill grandmother, that she had requested for him and his sister to return to Russia to see them one last time.
And being the filial grandson he was, he accompanied Alisa back to Russia. But upon their arrival, he realised that she was perfectly fine! Her real motive was to introduce him to a fair maiden, whom she had taken a liking to, and so she did. The girl just so happened to be another model, and one of pure Russian descent.
Lev explained animatedly how upset the old lady was when he told her that he was already engaged.
Your lover raised his ring finger to show you his gleaming band, and you almost teared up at the sight. He continued with a sigh, shaking his head as he relayed that she wanted Lev to give the girl a chance.
And in the end, he was forced to be engaged to her temporarily, until the octogenarian passed on.
So for now, they were spending some time in Japan, as the girl was determined to sightsee with her short-term fiancé. But eventually they would return to Russia, so that they could spend time together with his grandma.
It was, without a doubt, a peculiar situation. But a huge burden had been lifted off your shoulders, now that you knew why they were involved for a while.
âAt first I didnât contact you because I was unsure of myself. What to say, and to thinkâŠâ He took your hand in his, and raised his head, green orbs gleaming with guilt.
He was threading carefully, something he hardly did, and your heart swelled. âBut then it slowly turned into something bigger than that, and I feared that you would leave me because of this mess.
âI know what I did was awful and I donât deserve your forgiveness, but I hope you know how much I love you and that I think about you every single day.â Closing his eyes, he brought your hand to his lips to kiss your knuckles tenderly. When he reopened them, he gave you a dejected, lopsided smile. âI always have.â
âThen why did you act like you didnât know me earlier?â You dipped your head, sideways. âYou know, in front of her?â
âI had to put on an act, just to please my granny⊠I didnât mean to hurt you,â He squeezed your hand, âThis is only temporary. Once itâs over, Iâll return to Japan as soon as possible.â
You swallowed the forming lump in your throat. He was about to depart again, the man you had loved for a decade.
âPromise me youâll come back. Back to me.â Placing a hand atop his, you locked eyes with him, âPlease.â
He brushed back the stray strands of hair to glimpse at your sparkling irises. Levâs heart clenched at the eyebags under your beautiful orbs, and he leaned forward to press his forehead against yours.
âI promise.â
The willow branches hid two of you from the world as the two of you conversed for hours, catching up on everything that had happened. You spent the rest of the night holding each other in the secluded park, fingers entwined silently.
âŠ
Lev departed for Russia once again when the sun rose. You had bidded him goodbye tearfully, knowing you wouldnât be able to speak to him in, possibly, a very long time. Nevertheless, you believed in the promise the two of you had made, and that kept you going.
It was still a little sad to wake up every morning without him next to you. Sometimes, you would even mistake a morning zephyr for his breath against your skin. Watching your favourite drama series alone without his ignorant comments and boisterous laughter pained you with a smile. But despite the lonely moments, you pushed forward.
And you knew that one day, he would return. After all, his departure was not permanent.ăăăăăăăăăăăăăăăăă

The 49th Hunger Games
âThatâs it, Brainy. You fought well. Now come to me. Iâll make it short. I wonât hurt you much, I promise,â he said to her with an evil smile on his face as he swam towards her. She looked at the taser in her hands, hesitated, then turned it on and threw it into the water. Wiress watched him being electrocuted from afar, and listened to his blood-curdling death cries.
Hickory, dickory, dock. The mouse ran up the clock. The clock struck one, The mouse ran down, Hickory, dickory, dock...
The arena: A beautiful, mountainous landscape with many great lakes and large forests. Small, wooden huts were to be found at certain places in the arena, always hidden behind enormous trees ascending to the dark sky. The Cornucopia was standing in a rather remote area, on a willow, far away from the largest lake in the middle of the arena, and behind the forest that encircled every other part of the arena. Thus, the tributes were forced to enter the forest, whether they liked it or not. The ground was always muddy because it was constantly raining. The air was so fresh that it was painful to take a deep breath. The temperature, neither too hot nor too cold, was another bonus. But the appearance was deceiving. Mutated piranhas living in the largest lake were longing for human flesh eagerly: if a tribute entered the lake with blood on their body, the piranhas immediately started attacking them. Therefore, it was very important to double-check whether one had blood somewhere on oneself before entering that lake. More danger was guaranteed with mutated frogs living by the lake, but luckily, none of the tributes were killed by them. The 49th Hunger Games were a little different than previous years: when there were only ten tributes left, Xander Holliehopp, the Hunger Games announcer, announced an exciting news: he invited the tributes to a game, more precisely, a quest. Chests were hidden in certain places in the arena, containing everything ranging from food and weapons to special equipment. At regular intervals he would give them a riddle, and the correct solution would lead the tributes to the respective chests. The discovery of a chest was announced with trumpet sounds so that other tributes wouldnât search for it in vain. That way, the Gamemakers hoped to bring the tributes together in order to have them fight each other. Suddenly, those with little chances of winning had equal, if not better chancesâŠ
The tributes: This yearâs Career pack consisted of highly skilled fighters. They all received at least 9 points during their individual training sessions, and two of them even got 11 points. A few other tributes were promising as well, but the majority didnât know how to fight, let alone hold a weapon properly. Thus, many people were certain that a Career would win the Games for the third time in a row now. In fact, they felt so certain that several news agencies sent their journalists onto the streets of the Capitol to conduct interviews and ask the people which one of the Careers had the best chances of winning (â1, 2, or 4 - Who is it worth rooting for?â). Good thing the Games were always good for a surprise...
The names of the tributes were...
Warning: Some readers may find the following text disturbing. Reader discretion is advised.
Ten tributes died during the Cornucopia bloodbath. The Careers proved to be very talented fighters. Eight tributes escaped the bloodbath without getting involved in any fights with their opponents.
24. Scarlett Briggs (age: 15 | skill: x | training score: 3 | days survived: 0): Female tribute from District 8. Scarlett was the first tribute to be killed: the girl from District 2 sent a knife to the back of her head.
23. Foncer Warwick (age: 18 | skill: x | training score: 5 | days survived: 0): Male tribute from District 9. Foncer was killed by the girl from 4 on his way to the Cornucopia.
22. Daizy Munt (age: 15 | skill: x | training score: 4 | days survived: 0): Female tribute from District 11. Daizy wasnât planning to run towards the Cornucopia, but she didnât want to leave it empty-handed either. She had just bent down to pick up a pair of socks lying on the ground not far from her own platform when she was hit by a knife belonging to the boy from 2.
21. Linen Nash (age: 13 | skill: x | training score: 2 | days survived: 0): Male tribute from District 8. Linen was killed by the girl from District 2. While he had been searching a box for useful supplies, the girl had caught him in a headlock from behind and broken his neck. Never before had a female tribute done that, which is why the viewers were highly impressed with her.
20. Gage Hoberry (age: 18 | skill: bodily strength | training score: 7 | days survived: 0): Male tribute from District 6. Right at the start of the Games, Gage got into a fight with the boy from District 1. Both had grabbed a backpack at the same time. And although the boy from 1 would have the entire Cornucopia for himself and the other Careers, he still didnât want to let go of the small backpack that could have been live-saving for Gage (âYou can have everything else you want!â â âBut I want this, buddy!â). Gage was stabbed to death by him.
19. Kernel Renvin (age: 16 | skill: bodily strength | training score: 6 | days survived: 0): Female tribute from District 9. Female tribute from District 9. Kernel had succeeded in collecting some supplies at the Cornucopia, but when she attempted to run to safety, she was attacked by the girl from District 4. Kernel survived the attack and couldâve easily run away, but instead, decided to fight the girl (âOh, no. You shouldnât have done that, sweetie. Not with me!â). They wrestled on the ground for a while until the boy from District 4 showed up and killed her with his trident.
18. Thyme Fernsby (age: 18 | skill: x | training score: 3 | days survived: 0): Male tribute from District 12. Although Thyme was one of the oldest tributes, he was very weak physically. Having dealt with hunger his entire lifetime, he weighed at least sixty pounds less than his age-mates. Thyme was overpowered and killed by the girl from District 4.
17. Saline Declan (age: 14 | skill: x | training score: 3 | days survived: 0): Female tribute from District 5. Saline was killed by the boy from 1 on her way to the Cornucopia.
16. Cash Stasbury (age: 14 | skills: bodily strength, speed | training score: 8 | days survived: 0): Male tribute from District 11. Male tribute from District 11. People were taken aback when it was revealed that Cash was only 14 years old: he was tall and physically very fit. It was no surprise that he scored 8 points at training. Cash was already searching the Cornucopia for weapons before the Careers had reached it. Although originally looking for a spear, other weapons were tempting for him as well, which is why he wasted too much time there. The Careers â the two boys from 1 and 2 â reached him before he could escape. The boy from District 2 seriously injured him (âThatâs what you get, you stinky frugivore.â) and then walked away to grab another weapon. Cash bled to death short time later.
15. Norah Nell (age: 15 | skill: speaking | training score: 8 | days survived: 0): Female tribute from District 6. Norah was the only child of Jetta Nell, victor of the 18th Hunger Games. It frequently happened that children or other close relatives of former victors were chosen as tributes. And because of their family backgrounds, these tributes have always attracted a lot of attention. In Norahâs case, however, it was her personality that made people like her from the beginning: funny, witty, self-ironic, adorable. A brilliant speaker and stand-up comedian. Her interview with Caesar Flickerman was an emotional rollercoaster because she would make the audience burst out laughing just to make them cry the next moment. She didnât even try hard to become their favorite candidate (âCaesar, do you think itâd be possible for me to stay in the Capitol for a few more days? Iâve seen a man with whiskers this morning, and I really want to go back and check whether he was a real cat or just a copy-cat. You may dump me in the arena afterwards â but I wouldnât complain if you didnât!â). And even during her individual training session with the Gamemakers, Norah decided to impress them with her talent for stand-up comedy instead â and received 8 points for that (to be fair, the Gamemakers were a little tipsy at that point)! People believed she had a hand for weapons, too, since they didnât know what talent she had showcased behind closed doors. Inside the arena, Norah decided to run towards the Cornucopia and grab something with her before she left. Unfortunately, that wasnât the right thing for her to do because she was severely wounded by the boy from District 2. She turned around and limped away while pressing her hand against her abdomen to stop the bleeding. Minutes later, she collapsed to the ground and died of blood loss. Her death left the people in the Capitol devastated, and some people even demanded to hold a nationwide moment of silence for her (which, of course, was denied). This was the very first time in the history of the Games that a tribute had become one of the top favorites of the Capitol audience despite they hadnât survived a day in the arena.
A total of 14 tributes had survived the bloodbath. The Careers began searching for more victims that same day. But it turned out to be a hard task: apparently, the others were too good at hiding. The unsuccessful search (that lasted for a full three days) was very depressing for the Careers. They felt weak compared to Careers of previous years who had always found their competitors very quickly. The psychological pressure, and the increasing feeling of looking nothing but stupid while wandering around the entire arena, resulted in one Career putting the blame on another (âIf you wouldnât walk so slow!â, âStop being so loud!â, âYou never listen to me!â, âI told you we shouldâve searched for them in the afternoon!â). And the hot temper of some worsened everything even more...
14. Volta Finley (age: 16 | skill: x | training score: 4 | days survived: 3): Male tribute from District 5. Volta survived the Cornucopia bloodbath because he didnât even participate in it: he had turned around and run away immediately. And since he had no blood on his body, he crossed the great lake without any problems with the piranhas (which he didnât even notice) by clinging to a boat with one hand and rotating his other arm wildly to push himself forward. Soon he realized that his clothes were apparently holding him on the surface, which is why he let go of the boat and stopped moving. Indeed, he was floating on the surface. Volta reached the opposite bank a few minutes later, and after wandering around the woods for a while, came across a small hut that was well-hidden by giant trees. He remained there until on the fourth day he was so hungry that he decided to leave his hiding place to find something to eat. He was found by the Careers shortly afterwards. Volta had tried to run away from them but slipped on the muddy ground. The Careers were happy that they had finally found another victim, but they couldnât decide which one of them should kill him because everyone wanted to carry it out (âLeave it with me.â - âNo way, he's mine!â). Eventually, they agreed upon killing him together: one after one, the Careers stabbed Volta until the cannon went off.
13. Sable Archer (age: 17 | skill: bodily strength | training score: 7 | days survived: 5): Female tribute from District 10. Sable and her district partner were classmates, which is why they immediately allied with each other once they had entered the arena. Both were well-built and ready to put their lives at risk. Both ran towards the Cornucopia and grabbed everything they could, they didnât even think twice. The way they wandered around the arena without showing any signs of fear or anxiety very much resembled Careers. It was unusual for a non-Career to act like this inside the arena, which is why both appeared as likely contenders for the victory. Plus, Sable looked very pretty with her strong physique, wavy blonde hair, protruding cheekbones, and dark blue eyes. Thus, it wasnât surprising that she received a sponsoring gift on the second day (a sandwich box), and another on the fourth day (a cheesecake) because she was craving sweets. Her district partner on the other hand had received nothing. Therefore, it was very normal for him to be envious of Sable. And as itâs expected from a true ally, Sable even shared her sponsoring gifts with him. But what seemed to be usual envy was actually hatred. Her district partner knew that this wouldnât go on forever, that in the end, their ways would part, if Sable didnât kill him first since she was the one receiving all the sponsoring gifts, not him, and therefore wouldnât have a problem surviving on her own. But these were his thoughts, not Sableâs. And these thoughts quickly turned into a murder plot. Armed with nothing more than a kitchen knife, her district partner decided to put his plan into practice. He prepared lunch with plants and fish they had collected before and the leftover cheesecake, and when both were having lunch, he heaped praise on Sable for being sponsored, and then hugged her (âWhat would I do without you?â). Sable was very surprised by that since the two had never been close, but she wasnât suspicious. Instead, she tried to swallow the cheesecake, uttering âOh, uhm, itâs OKâ. But her district partner didnât let go of her, and embraced her with all his strength combined. Sable tried to shake him off, now being alarmed, but it was too late: her district partner pulled out his kitchen knife and stabbed her in the back (âBut every good story needs to come to an endâ).
12. Oakley Huntsman (age: 15 | skills: hiding, speed | training score: 4 | days survived: 6): Female tribute from District 12. Oakleyâs parents were merchants, they owned a small bakery in District 12. Thatâs why she was well-fed in contrast to her slender district partner. At the start of the Games, Oakley had been indecisive as to whether she should try her luck and take some supplies with her, or run away immediately. Finally, she decided to run towards a backpack a few meters away, and to her surprise, managed to grab it and escape. The boy from 2 threw a knife in her direction, but Oakley was fast and smart enough to zigzag away. The backpack turned out to be a gold mine: it comprised plenty of snacks, a rope, a pocketknife, an empty water bottle, and two small, metallic objects Oakley couldnât identify. They looked identical and resembled stones. Their surface, however, wasnât smooth: instead, it seemed as if they had handles. Oakley tried everything that came to her mind to find out what exactly she was holding in her hands (âWhat on earth?...â). When she couldnât think of anything else, she held the objects against the wall of the small hut in which she was hiding. But nothing happened. Disappointed, she wanted to put the two objects into her backpack, but they seemed to be glued to the wall. With great difficulty, Oakley managed to detach the objects from the wall by slightly rotating them. Apparently, she was in possession of magnets sticking on any type of surfaces. But she still didnât know how to make use of them, until in the early hours of the second day, she woke up to voices nearby. As if she had already unknowingly prepared herself for such a situation, she packed all her things together, strapped her backpack on, and took the magnets in her hands. Then she jumped out of the window (that she had left open in order to listen to suspicious noises nearby more easily), held the magnets alternately against the outside wall of the hut, and climbed onto the roof. She heard some people entering the hut at that precise moment, and recognized them by their voices: the Careers looking for victims. Oakley kept still and waited for them to leave, but the Careers seemed to be in no hurry. Just at that moment it started raining, and Oakley got soaking wet while she was lying there face down, too scared to move. After what felt like an eternity, the Careers finally left. Oakley didnât change her hiding place because she thought it was very unlikely the Careers would enter her hut again. She remained there till the seventh day. In order to kill time, she grated branches the wind had driven through the open window of the hut using her pocketknife. Suddenly, lightning struck her hut and set it on fire: the Gamemakers wanted to lure her out of her hiding place. Oakley, who had been startled by the sudden noise, cut her finger but didnât realize it because she was rushing to leave her hiding place alive. She wandered around for some time, but didnât feel safe at where she was, which is why she decided to cross the great lake. She grabbed a boat, but was too afraid to hop into it in case someone would see her. Hence, she used it as driftwood. The moment her bleeding finger touched the water, she was ripped to pieces by mutated piranhas.
11. Amos Saywell (age: 16 | skill: kitchen knife | training score: 7 | days survived: 7): Male tribute from District 10. After he had murdered his ally (and collected her sponsoring gifts), all hell broke loose in District 10. A large crowd protested in front of the Justice Building, demanding that the Gamemakers should make Amosâ time in the arena a living hell. This was the first time a district had done this. The Gamemakers, however, were in raptures about Amos because he had given the viewers in the Capitol exactly what they had wanted: entertainment. And the Gamemakers were very fond of such tributes. A street interview conducted in District 10 convinced most people that returning to his home district was probably not the smartest idea for Amos. One particular interview stood out the most because the interviewee was a close relative of the female tribute (âWhat do you think of him?â - âWhat I think of him? Heâs a real shame, thatâs what I think! And if he should ever come back, I know exactly what Iâm gonna do with himâ). After that interview, people started calling him âAmos, shame-osâ. Of course Amos didnât have a clue what was going on in District 10, although he was clever enough to assume his actions would have consequences. But that was the last thing on his mind, what was important now was that he somehow had to survive the Games. When he was rambling through the woods, he forgot to smear his footprints on the muddy ground. Tracking him down was therefore childâs play for the Careers: the girl from District 2 sent a knife into his right shoulder, and the entire Career pack ran after him (âYou canât escape from us!â - âHe really thinks he can run away from us! How cute!â). But when Amos ran towards the lakeshore, the Careers stopped: he was just about to enter the great lake with a bleeding wound. The Careers watched him jumping into the water (âWhoâs gonna tell him?â said the boy from 1 jokingly) and being torn into pieces by the piranhas. Amos screamed in pain, but not for help. His last words before he was decapitated, were: âSable! Forgive me!â.
Day 7: âDear tributes, I hereby open the Quest. Remember, every two days youâll be given a riddle that youâve to solve in order to find the respective chest. In total there will be three riddles. Now you may be wondering why you should play along. Well, there wonât be any sponsoring gifts during this time. So, if your supplies are running low, or you simply want to get your hands on unique weapons and special equipment, this is your chance. Ladies and Gentlemen, here is the First Riddle. Good luck! âA piece of art. Standing there, apart. Maybe you'll find a dart? What else wants your heart?ââ
10. Munira Kirklyn (age: 16 | skill: x | training score: 6 | days survived: 7): Female tribute from District 7. Muniraâs family belonged to the upper class of District 7, meaning she hadnât spent her childhood with cutting trees. Therefore, she had never actually used an axe, which was rather unusual for someone living in 7. Still, she pretended that she had a way with axes, and tried to impress the Gamemakers by swinging an axe. They werenât highly impressed by her, but still gave her a 6 because they convinced themselves that she - a tribute from 7, the lumber district - had been cutting trees at home daily. But once Munira was inside the arena, it turned out that she hadnât. She allied herself with her district partner, and hoped to survive with his help. Munira was very adventurous, and never hesitated following her partner around the arena. After the Gamemakers had revealed they would soon propose them riddles, the boy from her district suggested them to ally themselves with both tributes from District 3 (âTheyâre clever. Iâm sure weâd find the chests more quickly that way. We need them.â). Hence, both began searching for them without taking a break (âWe need to find them before they announce the first riddle, Munira.â - âWhat are you going to do, if we wouldnât need their help anymore?â - âGet rid of them.â). And indeed, they found the two climbing up a mountain (âWe wonât hurt you, promise!â - âHere, you can have our weapons. Or you know what? Weâre throwing them away, see.â). The girl from 3 was hesitant, but the boy from 3 thought this alliance would benefit them since neither one of them knew how to fight. Therefore, the tributes from 7 could serve as their bodyguards. So, they accepted their offer. Only a few minutes later, the announcer proposed them the first riddle, and the girl from 3 solved it in a few seconds (âArt, apart, dart, heart... Start! The Cornucopia - thatâs where everything started!â). The boy from 7 felt vindicated that he had made the right decision. They ran as fast as they could in the direction of the Cornucopia, but when they were inside the woods, Munira ran against a force field that threw her backwards, and her heart stopped. The two from 3 stopped to help her, but the boy from 7 told them to move on (âThereâs nothing you can do for her! Hurry!â).
Day 9: âLadies and Gentlemen, here is the Second Riddle. Good luck! âCareful, stay where you are! And don't listen, even though they say "Come in!". Waiting for red, waiting for dead. Step in, and they'll tear your skin.ââ
9. Tiber Yusko (age: 18 | skills: close combat, knife | training score: 10 | days survived: 10): Male tribute from District 2. Just like some of his allies, Tiber had volunteered as a tribute. He was a tall muscleman who was very gifted at close combat. But surprisingly, he preferred throwing knives at his opponents instead of using his body strength to his advantage. The viewers, however, gradually became more and more annoyed by him. Reason for that was his way of talking: his vocabulary was very limited, he would use vile language, and constantly tell anti-jokes. He was also the main reason why the Career pack had a hard time searching for victims: he would unintentionally set them on the wrong track by claiming to know where the other tributes were hiding (âBelieve me, my instinct is inevitableâ - âYou mean inerrable?â - âYeah, whateverâ). After the first riddle was announced, the Careers racked their brains over where the chest might be (âPiece of art? Sounds like a portrait to me. Or a picture?â - âI feel like itâs right under our nose.â - âWait! Could it be the sky? Thatâs the only artsy thing here.â - âRight! And darts could be, you know, thunders?â - âThat really makes sense. So I guess the chest will come with a parachute or something?â). And while others were searching for the chest, the Careers just stood there, hopefully staring at the sky, until a trumpet sound told them that someone else had found the chest. They embarrassed themselves yet again on the ninth day (âI think this oneâs pretty obviousâ - âYeah - âstay where you areâ - like, donât move or youâll be torn to pieces.â - âWait, what are you guys talking about?â - âThe mines at the Cornucopia. Theyâll explode once you touch the ground before the Games are officially opened.â - âBut what about the âcome inâ part?â - âThe Cornucopia. Because itâs so tempting.â - âMakes sense!â - âSo, what are you waiting for? Letâs go and get that chest!â). But when they were standing at the Cornucopia, proud of themselves for having solved the riddle, the boy from 1 suddenly facepalmed (âWait - no! The lake! The piranhas! Go, go!â), but it was too late: a trumpet sound was heard at that very moment. Thereupon, the Careers blamed each other for that mistake (âHow stupid of you to think the chest would be hidden inside the Cornucopia!â - âYou had the same idea!â - âHold your horses!â - âWhat are you, a groom?â). The Careers hadnât gotten along very well since the start of the Games, but after not being able to find the chest for the second time, their relationship was finally shattered. They had eaten up their supplies, and thus, were starving for the first time in their lives. It all came to a bitter end on the tenth day...
8. Isla Shaw (age: 17 | skill: katana | training score: 9 | days survived: 10): Female tribute from District 4. Since the two previous Games had been won by tributes from Districts 1 and 2, many people hoped a tribute from 4 would come out as victor this time. And Isla seemed to fulfill all the requirements needed: with fiery hair, petrol blue eyes, and delicate pink lips, she was another tribute who captivated people across Panem. She was a talented fighter as well. During her interview with Caesar Flickerman, Isla seduced the audience with her looks and charming manner. Many people were betting on her. However, viewers were disappointed to see that Isla never stood up for things she believed were right, and instead did what she was told without ever contradicting her allies (âBut what if the chest is at the la-â - âIsla, weâve already solved the riddle. Itâs at the Cornucopia. Arenât you listening?â). On the tenth day, Isla found pouched food in the backpack of the boy from 1, while she and the others were starving. Isla gathered all her courage and confronted the boy in front of everyone (âI thought you were starving?â - âWhat are you talking about?â - âI found this in your backpack.â - âYeah, sure. I guess itâs yours and youâre just too scared to admitâ - âYou, I- How dare you say that!â). Things escalated once the other Careers got involved (âI always thought you were the type of person to do such thing, Islaâ - âOn the contrary, Awes seems to have the word âthiefâ written all over his face.â - âWhy donât we just calm down and share the food?â - âOh, shut up!â - âFine, I pouched it. Itâs not my fault youâre all too dumb to have done it as well.â). Thatâs when several Careers drew their weapons... Capitolâs favorite (4th-choice).
7. Strawberry Fair (age: 16 | skill: | training score: 9 | days survived: 10): Female tribute from District 1. Strawberry was the third child of Lovejoy Fair, victor of the 27th Hunger Games. She grew up in the shadow of her mother, and because of her motherâs popularity in their home district, people expected her children to be as talented as their mother was. Thus, Strawberry was constantly compared to her mother, the honorable victor from District 1. Unlike her siblings, Strawberry was the only one of âreaping ageâ. Her siblings had never dared to volunteer as tributes, much to the disapproval of their mother, who was eager to make history by becoming the very first victor with another victor as their child. Only her elder brother had attempted to participate in the 48th Hunger Games, but another volunteer had been picked as the male tribute of that year instead (and Strawberryâs brother had secretly been very glad about that). Therefore, Strawberry was her motherâs last chance to rise to fame yet again, and she didnât want to disappoint her. She promised her that she would volunteer as a tribute once she had reached the age of 17. But when her name was called during the Reaping, it was no longer necessary for her to wait for so long. As itâs typical for Career districts, another girl immediately volunteered, and the Capitol escort asked Strawberry whether she would like to give her place to that girl instead. Strawberry didnât answer immediately. She turned to her mother who was sitting behind her on the stage, inconspicuously shaking her head, and then said âNo, Iâm fineâ. Not because she didnât want to disappoint her, but because she didnât want to dwell in her shadow for the rest of her life. Strawberry turned heads in the revealing red cashmere dress she was wearing for the interviews, with a golden strawberry pattern on it. Inside the arena, she wore her blonde hair in a ponytail that was secured with a strawberry hair clip. The Capitol audience was already in love with her before they had seen her fighting. When a fight broke out on the tenth day, Strawberry got into a fight with the girl from 2, and was fatally injured by her. Capitolâs favorite (3rd-choice).
6. Jigger Seelig (age: 16 | skill: trident | training score: 9 | days survived: 10): Male tribute from District 4. Jigger was a cute boy with an innocent face. He seemed to be much younger than 16, which is why he looked out of place next to his tall and strongly built allies. During his interview with Caesar Flickerman, Jigger was constantly blushing and smiling shyly (âSo, Jigger, tell us something about yourselfâ - âI... uhm... so...â - âOh, no need to blush! I promise we wonât tell anyone!â - âIâm actually a very shy person, Caesar...â - âWell, looks like you didnât show that side to the Gamemakers - 9 points! Congratulations on that.â). But behind the curtain was a boy who enjoyed killing to the fullest. Thus, everyone was surprised to see how dangerous he actually was. While some Careers, including his district partner, got into a physical fight on the tenth day, Jigger didnât interfere, and instead secretly put the food in his pockets. When he was about to run away, the boy from 1 chased after him (âIâm afraid itâs not so easy!â), and broke his neck. Capitolâs favorite (5th-choice).
5. Tosca Tyrell (age: 18 | skills: bodily strength, sword | training score: 11 | days survived: 10): Female tribute from District 2. It didnât happen very often that a female tribute had such an intimidating effect on others. Tosca was muscular and the tallest out of all Careers. Many of her male opponents looked like a joke next to her. Most people were certain she would make it to the final battle, if not win the Games. But things turned out differently. Tosca punched the boy from 1 in the face after she had learned that he had secretly pouched food. This set off a chain reaction: the boy from 1 tried to give her a headbutt, but the boy from 2 shoved him to the ground. The girl from 1 went in between to keep the three apart, but was slapped in the face by the boy from 2. Suddenly, they faced each other armed. All the frustration of the last days had built up in such a way that the Careers lost their temper. The girl from 4 tried running away but Tosca rammed a sword into her back before the boy from 1, who had just killed the boy from 4, slit her throat. Capitolâs favorite (2nd-choice).
4. Copper Emmens (age: 15 | skills: intelligence, inventiveness | training score: 5 | days survived: 10): Male tribute from District 3. Copper was very intelligent just like his district partner. They quickly became friends in the arena, and helped each other surviving it by inventing things. The viewers were highly impressed by them, but still believed neither of them would win the Games. Although very clever, he wasnât good at judging people which unfortunately sealed his fate. Capitolâs favorite (7th-choice).
Day 11: âLadies and Gentlemen, here is the Third Riddle. Good luck! âAscending to the bright sky. You're asking why? Because they're hiding something from the eye. A perfect place for a spy!ââ
3. Awes Castellan (age: 18 | skills: bodily strength, sword | training score: 11 | days survived: 11): Male tribute from District 1. Awes was another volunteer, ready to risk anything in order to win the Games. After the other Careers were dead, he took the food with him (âMorons...â) and calmly walked away while eating crackers. Awes had good chances of winning, if it hadnât been for the surprise his final opponent had in store for him... Capitolâs favorite (1st-choice).
2. Veneer Foye (age: 17 | skill: axe | training score: 8 | days survived: 11): Male tribute from District 7. Veneer was very smart and determined. He was also very elusive. But above all, he was a great actor. He enjoyed the attention he received as a tribute to the fullest, and always made sure to act for the cameras. Although the viewers seemed to understand the nature of Veneerâs opponents by the time they had entered the arena, Veneer still remained a mystery to them. By joining forces with the tributes from 3, he hoped to solve the riddles and find the respective chests. And indeed, they found two chests (the first containing a tracking device that was able to find tributes thanks to the trackers injected into their arms, and the second baskets filled with food supplies), before their alliance split. Veneer showed his true colours near the end of the Games after the cannon went off several times, announcing the deaths of the Careers. Veneer had miscalculated the cannon shots, wrongly thinking the only survivors beside him were his two remaining allies from District 3. Thatâs when the horror began... Capitolâs favorite (6th-choice).
1. Wiress Thorner (age: 15 | skills: technology, intelligence, inventiveness | training score: 4 | days survived: 11): Victor of the 49th Hunger Games from District 3. Wiress was an inconspicuous girl with short brown hair and ashen skin. She was reserved and preferred not to display her emotions. During her interview with Caesar Flickerman, she gave him such clever answers that he had difficulties keeping up with her. He also gave her the nickname âBrainyâ. Among other things, she told him about her inventions and discoveries. In addition, she could express herself excellently, and knew more than anyone else - like a mobile encyclopaedia. Furthermore, her instinct was very reliable: Wiress had great insight into human nature, and sensed things way before they happened. But her opponents underestimated her, thinking she wouldnât need her brains in the arena. Wiress, however, proved on many occasions that she was way ahead of them: when she was soaking wet after fishing with her ally in a small lake (they had built the angling rods themselves), she took off her clothes and hung them on a temporary clothesline so that it would dry faster in the cool air. Together with her ally, she also devised a water filter system by collecting sand, gravel, moss, a piece of cloth and coal, the latter had been sent to them by a sponsor. While others wandered around the arena helplessly, Wiress and her district partner used every possible resource the arena offered them. When the tributes from 7 wanted to join forces with them, Wiress intended to decline, but her district partner thought it was a better idea to accept the offer. Wiress disliked the boy from 7 because he was the only tribute she wasnât able to judge, and thus, couldnât outguess. But she had no other option than joining them. She was always very careful around him, and watched him closely to understand his complex nature. Wiress always thought about running away, but was afraid the boy would kill her district partner. On the tenth day, she tried to persuade her district partner that the boy from 7 was highly dangerous, and was intending to kill both of them very soon (âCopper, he is up to something. We better leave him now before itâs too late.â - âWiress, youâre just overthinking. Heâs just pretending to be dangerous, thatâs all.â). Her district partner, however, told her that he wouldnât be able to fight both of them on his own, regardless of his fighting skills. But Wiress was still convinced something bad was going to happen very soon. Hours later, when the three were sitting inside a hut, the cannon suddenly went off multiple times, announcing the deaths of several Careers - 5 out of 6, which meant that one Career was still alive, reducing the total number of players to four. Wiress was already on her feet and ready to escape, when the boy from 7 rushed forward and stabbed the boy from 3 to death. Wiress escaped through the window and ran away as fast as she could, but the boy from 7 wasnât in a hurry (âYou canât run forever!â). Wiress ran through the woods until she sought refuge inside another small hut which also happened to be the place where the third and final chest was hidden. But Wiress didnât realize that at first: she was trembling uncontrollably, and had difficulties breathing normally. Then she noticed the chest, opened it, and found a taser inside it. An hour later, she heard a twig snapping, and looked up to see the boy from 1 standing at the window and directy looking at her with a creepy smile on his face (âPeek-a-boo!â). He entered the hut through the door, and approached Wiress, grinning (âDidnât expect to find you here, I must admit. But Iâm not mad about it.â). After standing in front of her for a minute, he decided to try out something new (âI havenât choked anybody. Yeah, I think itâs about time.â), and slowly approached Wiress who was just staring at him in horror. Then he suddenly screamed and sank to the ground: Wiress was holding the taser in her hand. While he was trying to get up, Wiress grabbed a knife that had slipped out of his pocket. The boy tried shaking off the paralysis caused by the taser, and then approached Wiress again (âYou little rat.â). He raised his hand, ready to strike her, when he suddenly stopped moving: Wiress had rammed the knife in his throat. Thereupon, the boy coughed and splattered her entire face with blood. Wiress sank to the ground, teetering back and forth while lethargically staring at her bloody hands and the dead boy lying in front of her. She was too traumatized by the death of her district partner, her friend and companion, and the horrible death of the boy from 1, to feel any other emotion than horror. Half an hour later, a sudden knock at the door startled her out of her thoughts (âKnock, knock! I know youâre in there, Brainy. Wonât you open the door for me? Oh, thatâs rude, Brainy. I thought you were clever.â). Wiress slowly got up, moved to the window, carefully looked out, and then escaped the hut through it. She leaned against the wall, unable to move due to fear. Suddenly, the boy from 7 showed up right above her: he had climbed onto the roof and now looked down at her with a broad smile on his face (âTick tock, time is running, Wiress! Arenât you tired of playing the cat-and-mouse game? I mean, itâs a lot of fun, but letâs better end this right now.â). Wiress ran away again, this time in the direction of the nearest lake. She swam across that lake until reaching the shore. The boy from 7 calmly followed her (âI totally forgot about that boy. Youâve killed him on your own? Iâm very impressed! Too bad you wonât be lucky this time.â). Wiress put her hand in her pocket, holding the taser, while staring at the boy who was still grinning, unaware what was expecting him (âThatâs it, Brainy. You fought well. Now come to me. Iâll make it short. I wonât hurt you much, I promise.â). He then laughed at the sight of her (âJust a tiny little bit. Tick tock, the time is up!â). Thatâs when Wiress turned the taser on and threw it into the water. She watched him being electrocuted from afar, and listened to his blood-curdling death cries. The cannon went off, and she sank to the ground yet again, teetering back and forth while singing a nursery rhyme (âHickory, dickory, dock. The mouse ran up the clock. The clock struck one, the mouse ran down, hickory, dickory, dock.â). She remained in that position even after the hovercraft had showed up to bring her away, and got up fifteen minutes later, still in great shock. Capitolâs favorite (8th-choice).
Wiress was never the same. Although her mentor, Beetee Latier, had protested that she shouldnât be interviewed due to her condition, Wiress was still brought on stage. But she didnât talk. The Capitol was not happy with a victor like her. President Snow initially believed that she was just acting so that the Capitol would leave her alone, but then realized she wasnât. Wiress lived in seclusion until she became friends with Beetee: he reminded her of a friend she had lost in the arena. During the 75th Hunger Games, Wiress kept having flashbacks of her first Games: the clock arena reminded her of Veneerâs catchphrase (âTick, tock!â), and the blood rain reminded her of the time Awes had splattered her face with blood. Thatâs why she had been too shocked to tell her allies about what she had found out about the arena, and had been repeating âTick, tock!â over and over again. As if the ghosts of those two boys had appeared decades later to haunt her again.
------------------------
*Capitol favorites attracted Capitol citizensâ (and therefore whole Panemâs) attention the most. Various reasons for this included their unique skills, impressive deeds or exciting storylines. More screen time made it easier for them to survive in the arena compared to less noticed tributes (e.g. in terms of sponsor gifts). Also, there was a lower risk for them to be exposed to the Gamemakerâs arbitrariness (e.g. mutts, different dangers) due to contributing to the viewerâs excitement. The higher their placement (1st, 2nd, 3rdâŠ), the better. Nevertheless, the possibility of encountering dangers in the arena was never completely ruled out.
Sorry for any language mistakes. English is not my native language. Please let me know about any mistakes I have made.
Iâd be grateful for your feedback! I spend A LOT of time writing all of this, so Iâd really like to know what you think.

WINDFLOWER
part three ~ without the dolphin ~
(part one) (part two)Â (part three)
A/N:Â Thank you all so so much for reading! I never thought people would care about my writing and I am so appreciative. Iâve got messages/asks open for comments or questions.
Summary:Â Y/N warms up to Alex. George advises him to not be an idiot.Â
Pairing: imallexx x reader
Warning:Â Secondhand Embarrassment. Mild Language.
Word Count: 2.3k
There was no music in the lift. There was no music to interrupt Alex's music blaring into his ears. If there were someone around, they would have heard his questionable song choice for the four-minute trip from his apartment to meet the deliveryman and back again. Not that that trip required music.
However, consider that the brain could think thousands of thoughts in four minutes, and the chances of those all being pleasant thoughts are minuscule. Why take that chance? Why not drown them all out?
DINGÂ the sliding doors opened. Alex stepped out with a bounce in his step set in-time with the backbeat of the chorus playing in his ears.
Coming from around the corner where the mailroom was, Y/N brushed past him in a flash of blue clothing. She did not seem to see him.
But he saw her, like a Where's Wally game he was not aware he was playing. He took out one of his earbuds, slipping it in his pocket. Alex was determined to be normal: to make up for the initial awkwardness of their first meeting.
Y/N walked past the lift and started for the stairs. She was on the fifth or sixth step.
"Red!" called Alex.
"Hmm? Oh, hello," she said, smiling.
"How are you doing?" It was uncomfortable for him to be on a lower plane than to whom he was speaking, but Y/N was not moving, so neither was he.
"Tired."
"For tired, you don't look too bad. No I didnâtâyou don't look bad. You look good!" Amidst recovering from his slip, Alex noticed how different Y/N was then last time. Different in appearance, with her softer expression and relaxed shoulders, and in her aurora. It was calmer, more open.
"You look good too. That shade of yellowâ" she pointed to his sweatshirt, "âcompliments your hair."
"Really? You think?" He thought he might just melt or spill open in front of her.
"I'm not a liar. What are you up to?" Y/N looked around, keeping her head on a slight swivel. She returned to meet Alex's gaze with something like concern shining, hiding behind her animated expression.
"I'm meeting a deliveryman. If you want, you could come and eat pizza with George and me." After a short beat, he added, "Invite Sammy too."
"Is George your flatmate or..." Y/N intentionally trailed off.
"Flatmate." Alex thought he might have seen Y/N's smile widen more so for a second at his answer. But he could not be sure what he saw was real or just a manifestation of what he wished to see.
"He sounds nice."
"George? Yeah, he's lovely. Not as lovely as me, of course."
Nodding in mock seriousness, Y/N confirmed, "Of course."
It was a simple conversation, but it felt so alive: so real: so this is happening right now and Alex felt so present. Like looking at himself in the mirror late at night and being hit with the conscious recognition of I am a person. Here I am this corporeal being. Not made of words or thoughts, what I find funny or opinions I like, my mental state or view count.
Alex was real talking to Y/N. Words were free-flowing out of him as he processed and reacted simultaneously. Such an understanding â if harnessable â could lead to solutions for world hunger or maybe even get him to three million subscribers within the year.
"So, you'll come along?"
"I can't." Y/N frowned a slight frown. Her nervous nature returned as she cleared her throat and began to fiddle with her fingers.
"Come on, Red," his voice whined with the plea before stabilizing, "It'll be fun. It's not just pizza. I was planning on throwing together a salad as well to go with it."
"How healthy."
"Oh? Do you not know?" Alex paused so Y/N could shake her head. "I'm only buying a pizza to support local businesses; I'm really an expert in the kitchen."
"Is that right?" She raised an eyebrow.
"World-renowned."
"You know what? I see it now. Better than Ramsey, aren't you?"
"Leagues better. I'd challenge any chef to rival my bagged salad mix. It's spectacular â delicious."
Y/N giggled, and Alex joined.
Music had continued to blare from the earbud he left in, but he had been able to ignore it during the conversation. Until a particular song came on â one he downloaded as a joke â and he heard the line:Â got our song...up and ready
Did Alex wish Y/N and he had a song? No, that was dumb. An unrealistic expectation the romance genre shoved upon its (generally) female audience. But did he? Kind of. It would be cute. Men can want to be cute, too, right?
"So, you'll come?" he asked...again.
Y/N fiddled with the collar of her chin-hugging top. "I would, but I can't. Sam wouldâdon't you think you've made your deliveryman wait long enough?"
"Probably. You have some time to change your mind; just ring me if you do."
"I don't have your number."
"Alright," he made a give it here gesture, "I'll plug it in."
Y/N's bright expression faltered a smidge as she relinquished her phone to him. It was an older model but still a smartphone: no passcode: no apps other than those built-in. Her wallpaper was a picture of Sammy and her on a nature walk.Â
Alexâs prominent adam's apple jumped. A pain like indigestion or like guilt stabbed him in the stomach. After plugging in his number, he took an extra second to double-check it and add some personal flair.
Y/N took her phone back. "Why the emoji? I think I'll know who you are without the..." Y/N squinted at the screen. "...without the dolphin."
"Never know. It could be a good reminder."
"I suppose, it does match your eyes," she muttered, still focused on the phone. Y/N froze for a second, clearly not having meant to say that out loud.
"There you go, it's perfect. Don't be afraid to call or text me; I'm on that thing 24/7, and I promise to reply in at least one-to-two business days. Guaranteed."
She scoffed, "You should go get your pizza."
It would not be the first or fifth time Alex had forgotten about a deliveryman, and â while he would let his extra-large go stone-cold before willingly break off a conversation with her â it was apparent Y/N was itching to get somewhere.
"True." Alex gave a short wave, maintaining his distance. "I'll see you later."
"Bye.â Y/N disappeared up the stairs.
~LATER~
Alex balanced the extra-large pizza box in one hand. Never having worked in food service, his confidence in doing so was even lower than his regular self-confidence. With his other hand, he patted himself down, looking for the key to his apartment. He cursed at himself for having locked it out of habit when he left.
There was muffled shouting coming from inside â sounding both playful and angry. It took a single step through the door for Alex to recognize the source of the shouting.
George was in his bedroom watching a video back without his headphones on.Â
A great grief. A true unseen struggle for all youtubers â headphones were uncomfortable. Constant low-pressure squeezing developed into the biggest hazard of the job: chronic headaches. Both flatmates had expressed how they sometimes woke up to the feeling like they needed to relieve a phantom pressure and take off their headphones despite not wearing them to bed.
"Take high ground," a familiar voice commanded. "You have to down this guy."
Pre-recorded George asked, "Where is he?"
"Left. LEFT! Your left! Goddammit George, you dyslexic bitch."
It was with bitch that Alex recognized the other voice in the recordingâ it was Joshy, and it was a fortnite video from the sound of it.
"This gun is so weak it's hitting nine damage," pre-recorded George complained.
Joshy screamed, "Let's go; we got to go!"
"You do your thing. I'll be over there in a bit."
Their bickering continued sounding identical in tone to that of a couple outside divorce court. Viewers loved how shit George was at fortnite and how increasingly frustrated that made Joshy: the shouting, the swearing, the idle threats and name-calling. Pairing up together for these types of gameplay videos would often have them banging out a quarter to half a million views per video.
Meanwhile. Alex placed the pizza box on the coffee table and fell onto the sofa with an exhausted sigh. Sitting up, he grabbed at the box lid and started claiming the best-looking slices in his head.
Eyes flickered to the closed-door: George had not heard him come in â surely not. And he would not be mad if Alex started in on devouring the pizza without him â surely not. Right?
Stacking two slices on top of one another, Alex crammed them into his mouth quick, as if scared they would be taken away from him, and burned his tongue.
"Help me," pleaded the pre-recorded George, "Help me. Help me."
"Nah. Don't think I will."
"Josh, if you don't revive me right now. I swear to god, I will piss in your mouth while you sleep."
Alex snorted, choking on the third slice of pizza he had fit in his big mouth; he had been on the receiving end of that piss threat before, several times. Most recently because he left a plate in the sink and George swore if Alex did not clean it that second, he would...well...piss in his mouth.
"That's not very nice." Joshy mimicked genuine sadness. "I got you."
1/3 of the pizza was gone, and Alex decided it fair to call George in before he scranned it all himself. "George! Pizza's here!"
"Alright!" George (the real not the pre-recorded) shouted back. There was the sound of his door closing and the padding of his socked feet down the short hall before he appeared around the corner. Met with Alex and the 2/3 of a room temperature pizza, he asked the appropriate, "What the fuck?"
"I was starved."
"And here I was thinking the one excuse I would accept for taking twenty years to get the pizza was that you'd run into the street and got hit.â
Alex spoke around his mouth being full, "Sorry."
"Whatever." He snuck in a quick smack against the side of Alex's head as he joined him on the sofa.
Both men sat in silence, shoving slices of pizza into their mouth like it was a competition. Like there was no other food in their apartment. Like they could not order another pizza. Like it proved something.
Breaking the silence, Alex swiped the sleeve of his sweatshirt across his mouth and asked, "Are we still filming that opening pokemon cards video tomorrow?"
"Yes. Just need someone to film the over-the-shoulder angle. Lewis is sick."
"Sick with what?"
"Not the bug." George rolled his eyes mockingly. His eating had slowed down after hitting the wall, half-way through his fifth slice. "It's like a cold or something. Could you ask your new mate Sammy to do it?"
"Why not ask Will to come down?"
"Don't trust him," he said, shrugging.
"Fair enough. I'll ask him when we hit the pub later." Alex stood and walked to the kitchen. At the sink, he washed his hands with dish detergent and, cupping his hands into a bowl, washed around his mouth with the soapy water. Satisfied, he took a towel to his hands and face before returning to see George shutting the lid on the pizza box. "What do you think of Sammy?"
"How do you mean?"
"Just in general."
George shrugged. "He's cool."
"Yeah," Alex agreed â because he did agree with the statement; he liked Sammy.
There was a pause, and, in the interlude, George stood and grabbed the pizza box. He brought it to the kitchen bin; balancing it on top the overflowing rubbish. Curious and perhaps thinking he heard a tonal shift in their dialogue, George settled himself to be pressing his shoulder against the wall nearest where Alex stood. Leaning like he was in a how do you do fellow kids meme.
Alex felt very much 'squared up' to. He turned to be met with a quick tilt of the head and a scrutinizing near-glare from his flatmate. It was not unlike George to stick his nose in where it does not belong; could this be considered that type of situation? Alex did ask for his opinion.
Clearing his throat, George asked, "Is this about Y/N?"
"I was talking to her earlier andâ"
"Why were you talking to her?"
"âand I got the sense that Sammy might be like a tad controlling. I don't know."
"Are you serious?" George asked harshly before continuing in a softer voice â with a hint of hesitation, of caution, "You know what happens when you jump to conclusions like that. You shouldn't be chatting up Y/N behind Sammy's back."
"It wasn't like I cornered her. We ran into each other." Alex tugged on his sleeves, pulling them past his shaking fingers â seconds away from crawling into himself.
It was not playful bullying between friends anymore; it was a telling off. And neither was comfortable. George's eyes pleaded for Alex to look up and meet them, and for Alex to understand. Alex held no negative feelings toward George. But Alex hated himself for reacting as he was; he hated being human and having sensitive moments. Though he could not stop it.
"You have got to back off. Ok?" George confirmed, "If it means we can't have Sammy in the friend group, then that's what it means. We'll find someone else to film for us tomorrow."
"No, it's fine. I'll ask him," Alex said as he pulled up and straightened his posture. He smiled at George's concerned expression and added, "I'm not interested in Y/N."

The Sunflower Murderer (Yandere! Mirio x BNHA OC) Chapter Two
âGosh, the exam in Literature is two days away and I havenât even studied a single thing!â Mirio groaned to his childhood best friend, Amajiki Tamaki.
âDo you want to study together?â Tamakiâs glanced at his friend. âI can let you borrow my notes. You know, for some reason, I feel like you havenât been yourself much lately.â
Mirio looked puzzled but he wonât deny that Tamakiâs hunch wasnât wrong. The blondâs thoughts had been preoccupied with the first year he met by the sunflowers.
Thank goodness that Erika is active in social media, making it easier for Mirio to be updated in whatever she does. Since that fateful day, he and Erika kept texting each other every night. He actually messaged first and when she replied, he was so happy!
So overjoyed he permeated from his bedroom into their living room! Boy, his dad gave him an earful.
âItâs that first year, isnât it?â Tamakiâs voice snapped Mirio back to earth.
Mirio grinned sheepishly, âI canât help it, Tamaki, she made quite a lasting impression on me. I can tell she is a good person! She is also beautiful and witty too! Her quirk is undeniably strong. Who wouldnât have a crush on someone like her?â
âWhatâs her quirk?â Tamaki asked, tilting his head on the side.
âNullification,â Mirio grinned. âBasically, any quirk will have no effect as long as it is activated within her range. Pretty cool, right? The problem is that she doesnât really know how to control it so itâs like activated around her body 24/7. Itâs like having a walking bodyguard.â
Tamaki couldnât help but smile slightly as he watched his friend gush over Erika. Despite his silent disposition, he was glad to have someone who could make his friend happy. Although, it made him a bit anxious. Mirio maintained his sunny self but there was something he couldnât put his finger into.
Whenever they see her talk to a man, even if it was just a classmate or a teacher, Tamaki would feel the temperature drop. He would glance at Mirioâs smiling face but there was a hint of malice in it. The dark-haired boy just shrugged it off as jealousy. Mirio may be popular but there werenât anybody who caught his eye.
Until that first year came along.
As they passed by the first yearsâ classrooms, they found Erika talking to a male teacher. Shivers went down Tamakiâs spine. He looked at Mirioâs smile but there was this cold air surrounding them. Never mind, probably his anxietyâs playing tricks on him.
âPerfect timing, Amajiki,â the teacher spoke as he spotted the two boys.
âS-sensei?â Tamaki looked puzzled.
âTogata-senpai!â Erika happily greeted. She looked even prettier when she finally stopped dyeing her hair black and started to grow out her natural golden hair. Now it reached beyond her shoulders.
The cold aura disappeared as Mirio greeted back, âHello, Erika-chan.â Then he bowed to the teacher. âGood afternoon, sensei.â
âTakeuchi here is having difficulties with biology so I was discussing with her if she would be okay with having you as her tutor, Amajiki,â The teacher said.
âM-Me!?â Tamaki bolted up in shock and he could only look away from embarrassment. âB-But, I donât think I can be a good tutor for her. Iâm not good at teaching people anything...â
âOh come on, Tamaki! Youâll do just fine! Trust me!â Mirio encouraged as he wrapped an arm around his friendâs shoulders. Then he looked at Erika, âTamaki here is a bit nervous of himself but I can guarantee that heâs a great guy!â
Not to mention, the blond will finally have an excuse to spend more time with Erika. How cool is that?
âA-Alright, if thatâs what works, then Iâll tutor her, Sensei,â Tamakiâs fingers fidgeted.
âThank you for having me, senpai!â Erika perked up, her green eyes twinkling. Her smile alone made Mirio feel as if he was being embraced by angels.
Mirio never felt prouder of himself. He gets to study, hang out with his best friend, and not to mention, spend time with this golden-haired cutie. Whenever he would recall the day they met, he never had the strongest urge to protect someone. If he wasnât around, who would keep her safe?
Seeing her made his resolve to be a hero stronger.
âThanks, Tamaki, I owe you one,â Mirio whispered at his friend, patting the latterâs shoulder.
Tamaki groaned. At least his friend finally had the motivation to study.
-----
Mirio was having the time of his life. He simply just couldnât wait for classes to end so he, Tamaki, and Erika could have study sessions. Usually, theyâll do study sessions in Mirioâs house since his dad is out most of the time and his room was more spacious. Tamaki felt relieved since Mirioâs grades improved ever since he had agreed on teaching Erika. Whatever makes his friend happy, heâll support it.
âSenpai, what do you do if you get confession?â Erikaâs cheeks were tinted pink as she asked during one of their study sessions.
âWhy did you ask?â Mirio tilted his head at the side, puzzled.
Tamaki didnât say anything but he gulped. The temperature dropped again and Mirioâs eyes turned dark when Erika spoke.
âSomeone confessed to me today. After that, they just ran away and didnât even wait for my answer,â Erika rubbed her temple.
âWell, what do you feel about them?â Mirio asked curiously. âDo you like them? They deserve to hear the truth, after all. Right, Tamaki?â
Tamaki nodded nervously, âY-Yeah...â
âThank you, Togata-senpai!â Erika clapped her hands together as she nodded. âI was about to turn them down today but they didnât come to class. The teacher said they were in the hospital.â
The cold aura has disappeared as Mirioâs grinned. One less pest to deal with. His sights were fixed on making her heart his and no one can stand in their way of their love! He could never forget that studentâs eyes last night. They should have learnt their place.
Their study session continued smoothly. Mirio excused himself so he could get some drinks for the three of them. When he returned, he was frozen at his spot. Erika was hugging Tamaki, causing the other boy to shiver and turn bright red.
That very scene made Mirio want to punch his best friend. He kept up his smile nonetheless.
âThank you for being patient with me, Amajiki-senpai. You and Togata-senpai!â Erika spoke.
âP-Please get o-off me,â Tamaki whimpered as he struggled to free himself from Erikaâs grip.
âTogata-senpai!â Erika happily spoke, dropping a red Tamaki onto the floor. She ran up to the larger boy and hugged him.
âW-Whoa!â Mirio laughed heartily. His irritation was replaced with joy. His crush hugging him? He must be in seventh heaven now. âHey, be careful! I got us drinks here.â
âOh, sorry!â Erika retreated her arms.
Tamaki immediately grabbed a drink right after the blond boy had settled down.
âTakeuchi-chan, I wanna ask if youâre okay if I call you Erika-chan. I mean, we may be your senpai but we are now your friends!â Mirio randomly asked out of nowhere. âWeâre her friends, right? Tamaki?â
Tamaki could only nod.
Erikaâs cheeks turned pink and she nodded enthusiastically, âOf course, Togata-senpai!â Then she looked at the clock in Mirioâs room. âAh! Look at the time! I guess I have overextended my welcome. I need to get going now. Bye, Amajiki-senpai! Bye...uh... Mirio-senpai!â
With that, the blonde girl ran out of Mirioâs house in embarrassment. Flowers seemed to grow as Mirioâs first name graced on her lips.
âThat was surprising...â Tamaki sighed in relief as he rubbed his neck.
âThat was also surprising, Tamaki,â Mirio smiled but his voice was cold.
The dark-haired boy was forced to look at his best friend. Shivers went down his spine as he saw that glint in Mirioâs blue eyes.Â
âI forgive you, Tamaki. It would be a shame if I beat up my best friend also, right?â

Star Tear AU - Alt. Timeline: Todoroki ver. [Part 1]
This is an AU I wrote on the todomomo discord server eons ago. Anything posted to this blog will be transcripts of old original work and not really edited, save for formatting. I have no guarantees if I will ever finish these AUs either so these will only be kept as an archive.
Original transcript posted to tdmm discord: Aug 2020
Momo ver. Alternate timeline: Todo ver. Part 1 || Todo ver. Part 2 || Todo ver. Part 3
Star tears in which Todoroki falls for Momo first.
shortly after the exam with Aizawa he doesnât know what heâs feeling but just admires her strength and quick thinking
and him hanging out with Deku and Iida at lunch means Todo hears all the nice and good things Momo does when she and Iida to discuss class prez stuff
which intensifies this ??admiration?? and respect more
and he just?? Holds onto those feelings unable to figure out what they are until idk maybe holidays where 1A and 1B throw that holiday hotpot party
and Momos really cute lookinâ in that Santa hat she made with the festive turtleneck
and so that feeling inside Todo grows into something more??? bc "oh shit she cute".... and Todoâs blushing while looking at her from afar. Probably.
so Todo talks to Fuyumi abt it and Fuyumiâs like: âI think you like her Shoutoâ
and he writes to his mom abt it and Rei's like: âshe sounds like a lovely girl Shoutoâ
and he texts Natsuo abt it and Natsu's like: âaw little bro has a crushâ
but all the while this is happening, Momo's gotten closer with Iida over class prez stuff and hero stuff and everyone in 1A (read: mina and hagakure) think iimomo might be a thing???
ofc Momo denies it and making excuses politely like "no no ofc not we're being responsible class prez and vice prez" but sheâs kinda stuttery while doing so, so no one buys it
and no ones brave enough to ask Iida except Ochako but he gives some straight laced answer like "i admire her work ethic and respect her as a hero and vice prez" but he also has some tint of blush across his cheeks
so idk fast forward to graduation where Todo's been holding onto these feelings for Momo since first year and iimomo is still very very likely
so its all cherry blossom petals flying around and congratulatory celebrations
and when Todo sees Momo amongst the sakura trees smiling like he's never seen before (bc they're finally officially heroes!!) he thinks sheâs beautiful
but just as he's about to approach her, Iida approaches her and Todo can see she's blushing and he knows its really not good to eavesdrop on one of his best friends and the girl he likes
But... he's curious.
or so he lies to himself.
Ofc what he hears isnt what he ever wants to,,,,
cuz Iida just confessed to her.
and she feels the same.
and a star tear slips from Todo's eye as he walks away.
he stops mid step as he touches his cheek bc he didnt even realize he was crying
but what are these tears??? Whatâs happening?? He's never had these before bc even though Todo is an emotional crier, he doesnât cry that often.. only when he is completely overwhelmed with emotion
so he has this dumbfounded expression staring at his fingers as these star tears are twinkling out of his eyes catching sunlight and sakura petals
until he hears "Youre a fucking idiot" from a few steps away
Bakugou.Â
(Baku really likes eavesdropping ok its not the first time lol)
Baku: theyre called star tears.
Todo: You know what these are?
Baku: it happens when you like someone and that person doesnt like you back, idiot.
Todo: ... oh.
Baku: get that shit sorted or you'll go blind
(And for those who are curious, yes maaaayyybe Bakugou has a case of the stars in this timeline too, thatâs how he knows. To whom? I'll let you decide bc honestly, I just want todobaku brotp bonding over unrequited love)
so now Todo thinks he might be fucked. One of his best friends confessed to the girl he likes too and she likes him back and now Todo has this disease that might make him go blind and might get in the way of heroing (which they've all secured post graduation positions by now) and what can he do about it?
nothing, says the doctor he sees. The disease is not curable and the only way to stop it is to have your feelings returned else you'll go colour blind and then completely blind, so he's told.
ya he's really fucked.
maybe its a good thing then, that he doesnt cry often. It makes it easier to ice over these feelings, freeze them in time with the memories of U.A.; of his last congratulations to her and her smile at the end of the ceremony an hour after he overheard that confession
maybe its another good thing that right after graduation, everyone went off to their own positions as side kicks with agencies across japan, focusing on heroing
but its 3 months after graduation that Iida tells Deku and Todoroki that he is seeing Momo when they meet up every Friday to catch up
its 6 months after graduation that its publicly announced in Hero Magazine that Ingenium and Creati are dating
its 9 months after graduation that he sees Iida and Momo attending the Hero Association's rising stars gala as a couple and are seated at the same table as them
(Bakugou is scowling at him across the table.)
Todo tries. He really does. To be happy for them.
but he's angry at himself that he can't be happy for them. That it saddens him to see Momo glowing under the ballroom lights but its not himself to make her shine like that, its Iida. That he sees she is the one to make Iida genuinely happy in the way his eyes light up when he smiles at her.
and all three times Todo goes home, lies down alone in his room, an arm slung across his forehead as the star tears leak from his eyes.
he starts to lose seeing colour at 12 months.
after 24 months he needs glasses for colour correction (and ironically gets a sponsorship with the brand. The fashion magazines print headlines for weeks "Hot-Cold Hero Shouto Fall Fashion! See page 7 spread for his newest spotted specks and turtle necks")
at 36 months Iida breaks the news. Iida's gonna propose to Yaoyorozu and wants him, Deku, and his brother to be his groomsmen
she said yes.
and a part of Todo washes away with the star tears flooding him room and twinkling against the tatami.
he tries to stay out of the wedding planning as much as possible. He'll go to the tuxedo fittings as requested and still keep up hearing the updates when seeing Iida and Deku for their weekly get together on Friday nights.Â
But for anything involving Momo's presence, there will always be a "sorry i have a mission that week", "sorry im visiting my mom", "sorry Endeavor needs to see me about the agency"
... all excuses Bakugou knows, but the others pay no mind. They are rising heroes near the top of the billboard by now
month 48. Wedding day.
she's stunning. Gorgeous. A near goddess walking down the aisle on her big day.
but she's not walking down for him. No its for iida.
there was the ceremony, the cheers, the congratulations, the reception. Fairy lights around the dance floor and along the walls, champagne glittering after the sound of a cork
Todoroki stands off to against the wall as the night dies down, a glass in hand, watching the newly weds grace the dance floor.
someone slides up beside him, he feels the presence. Bakugou.
"She's beautiful isnt she?"
"Yeah."
. . .
a star tear falls from Todoroki's eyes, twinkle hidden among the fairy lights and champagne glitter.
she's beautiful, but maybe its a good thing I can't see
somebody said:Â what if she knows everything that had happened and the reason why he couldn't continue his career is bc of her?
me: ok youâre asking for it
Momo, 3 months pregnant with iimomo baby, announces with Iida the news to their friends
the soon to be parents want to choose godparents for the baby so Iida gets to choose the babyâs godmother and Momo gets to choose the godfather
and ofc along with the announcement Momo asks Todoroki to be the kidâs godfather
he canât say no to her.
the same week later Todo and Momo's agencies are requested to deal with this one villain case while Ingenium's agency deals with another in another town (later turns out the cases were connected)
small talk, civil, very professional between Momo and Todo when theyâre in the debriefing
at this point Todo's pretty much completely blind and uses some special contact lenses from Hatsume to help "see"
but the contact lenses can only do so much as to detect light movement and shadows and it reallllllllly doesnt work well when he's using his fireÂ
so Todo already had tossed around the idea of running away to the mountains like Roy did in the FMA 2003 ending, "mysteriously" retiring bc really his vision cannot keep up
until this last mission with Momo
and really its been nearly a decade now since they last worked together side by side (not since U.A. he thinks).. so just let the blind man be selfish one last time
and so smth smth missiom happens, Todo and Momo fighting side by side
but Momo senses thereâs something off with Todo's movements? His reflexes are slower.. it doesnt seem like he's prediciting the opponents moves like he used to.. he's more so reacting and retaliating than attacking..
she chalks it up to that they havent fought side by side in a long time and his style mustâve changed and really, she doesnt know him anymore... not like she used to
smth smth 3 months pregnant Momo gets hurt, knocked unconscious for a bit
Todo saves her
and when she comes to, while Todo's holding her, star tears fall onto her cheek from Todo's eyes.Â
She's shocked. Reaches up to gently graze a finger tip at his left cheek.
"Todoroki-san, these are?"
and again its like Todo didnt realize he was crying. He jerks away from her hand and brushes her off with "its nothingâ. Changes the subject with "are you ok?"
Momo: yes.. i think so
Todo: and the baby?
Momo, sitting up: we're ok I think
Todo, moving away: good
the mission concludes and they meet up with Ingeniumâs group to wrap up the two ends. Todo slips away before Iida and Momo and approach him
theres no activity from Todoroki for the next month
neither Iida, Deku or anyone else in 1A know where he went except the Hero Association's vague comment on "Hot Cold Hero Shouto has taken a sudden indefinite hiatus"
(Only Todoâs family knows and Endeavor asked the Association to say "hiatus" instead of "retirement" bc Enji wants to believe in his son making a comeback. He didnt stop Shouto from taking off)
and ofc Momo upon hearing this is so confused??? Her last mission with him was the last time she saw him and he was crying. Why was he crying? Strange star tears twinkling and landing on her cheeks? What even is that phenomenon?
its too many questions and ofc Momo's gonna investigate. For the sake of her friend.
so she digs up all the texts she can find on star tears. Internet search all the possibilities. Consults the doctors at the hospital. Even asks Tenya if Todoroki has been acting strangely during their weekly catch ups.
but Tenya tells her Todoroki hasnt been the the meet ups since after their wedding
so she asks anyone in their pro hero circle of associates she can think of. Tsukiyomi, Burnin', heros from his agency, anyone she can think of that has worked with Todoroki before and could comment on his behaviour
no body knows. No body noticed anything different either. Sure there were some off days but the Hot Cold Hero Shouto was always on his game being one of the top 3 heroes on the billboard charts
she searches and searches, splitting time interviewing colleagues and researching the possible star tears phenomenon
until eventually her search takes her to...
Bakugou.
Of course.
Momo, pleading: please Bakugou, you know something about him dont you?
Bakugou, who at this point had been very careful trying not to get cornered knowing her investigation: save it pony tail, youâre about to have a baby. Go have people harass you about that brat in your oven instead of harassing other people
Momo, nearly begging: please. You and I both know he's strong and a good hero that would not suddenly retire. Whatever he is doing, he might need help.. please tell me Bakugou.
... theres something about pregnant women that you cant say no to.
Bakugou, relenting: tch. The half ass is somewhere in Yokohama
and thats all she needs nearly running waddling (as fast as a pregnant woman could) out the door
Bakugou, calling out after her, still reluctant: when find that half ass, i suggest you throw him a gift. Literally. Throw it at him. He deserves it.
she finds him along the port, watching the sunset in Yokohama (its really not that hard to find someone with heterochromia and two tone hair in a city, especially if youre a hero that knows what methods heroes will use to go incognito)
and for some inkling of a feeling, Momo takes Bakugou's advice. She has a carton of strawberry milk in hand.
Momo, a few feet away from him: Todoroki-san, it's been a while.
Todo, turning his head in her direction: Yaoyorozu...?
Momo, sadly smiling: the sunset is beautiful here isnt it?
Todo, brows furrowing: .. sure. Yaoyorozu what are you doing here--
Momo, interrupting him: --i brought some snacks. Strawberry milk, you liked this while we were in school right? Catch.
she tosses it at him.
he tries to reach out.
But he'es completely off. And misses
Momo, sad: Todoroki-san. You're blind, arent you?
Todo, guilty: ah.
Momo, tearing up: will you please tell me?
he still can say no to her and confesses his story
and when he's finished telling the tale of star tears, the stars above are twinkling too
she's crying and choking and sobbing through tears and its intensified by baby Iida with pregnancy hormones
But the last thing she manages to croak out at the very least is still wholly her
She apologizes
âIm so sorry Todoroki- san. I cant love you that way.â
âI know.â
END NOTES:
red is the last color Todoroki wanted to lose because it reminds him of Momo
during missions, as long as he could see her, âthatâs okâ he thought. she is the only one he sees in color. that is okay with him
to him, Momo is his shining star. And thereâs something tragically poetic of him losing his sight to the stars if its for his shining star Momo
He leaves the last stars in a tiny little jar like those paper stars as a gift for her with just the words on a note "goodbye Momo" the day after she finds him in Yokohama
Momo has the jar of stars forever on her bedside and looks at them with this melancholy expression. Baby Iida grows up and asks mom:Â "what is that jar of stars?"Â
Momo responds: "a gift from someone that was blinded by love"
Bakugou in this timeline had a case of star tears too but I'd like to think he got his feelings requited so he never went blind to contrast Todo
So thats why Baku is (begrudgingly) sympathetic to Todo cuz he thinks:Â âthat couldâve been meâ
The ending shot of a blind Todoroki in a dark room, all alone, eyes closed, thinking back to Momo's shining smile from UA surrounded by star light with a sad smile on his face and it fades to black

88.) "None of us here have a life, so who the hell is texting you at 10 PM?
89.) "I just want it to end? Can't you just leave me to die?!"
90.) "Okay, he keeps giving me the evil eye."

98.) "Oh yeah, I'm pregnant."

111.) âItâs a hard life but I had you. And Iâd never give up that.â
112.) âDonât move! One wrong step and youâll die!â
113.) âYou are good enough. Donât doubt yourself.â
114.) "Do you smell something burning?" "Dude, that's your hair,"
115.) "I just feel so numb, a-all the time. S-So fucking numb."
116.) âHe saved my life, (name). You keep saying everyone else doesn't forgive him. I know youâre the one who doesn't. Stop acting like you're the high and mighty merciful one. Iâm going to find him, and youâre not gonna stop me,â
117.) "I love you, why are you pushing me away?"
118.) "Why is nothing I do good enough for you? Every time you look at me, it's like you're just staring at a steaming pile of disappointment. Why do you always think you're better than me?"
119.) "I-I know you're there. Just please let me out."
120.) "You're gonna kill me? With what, reckless driving?"
121.) "I'm listening to you, I have been fucking listening to you!"
122.) "Know that you are good enough."
123.) "I'm sorry that I was a dick. Just please, don't leave."

The old-fashioned clock on the wall that was behind the counter ticked in the silent bookstore. Without evening turning around â or glancing at the time on the computer or phone â you knew that it was only two thirty. It hadnât changed in the last ten seconds since you last checked. Or the ten seconds prior to that. The music for the store wasnât turned on. After your boss left when you came in for the afternoon shift, you had turned off the record player that had been in the middle of playing an old Queen album and didnât even bother opening up a tab for YouTube.
Instead, with the exception of the soft thuds of the books the occasional ringing of the bell at the storeâs entrance, you were working in silence.
You softly sighed as you gathered up the stack of books on hybrids. Your boss, after many years, finally relented to allowing you to put together a bookcase on hybrids. At the moment, the books that were making their way to she shelves were more informational and nonfiction instead of fiction novels, but you were only through the first box, there were still five left to sort through.
Settling on the floor, you organized the books by height, carefully shelving each book when the bell rang out in the shop. With a glance to the door, you nodded at Namjoon as he scanned the store, immediately spotting you at the partially filled bookcase near the entrance.
âHey Namjoon,â you softly answered, going back to shelving the books. âJust let me know if you need any help.â
Namjoonâs eyes widened. Your voice had been completely empty of any emotion and soft to the point that if he wasnât a hybrid, he wouldnât have been able to hear to you. He tried to strain his ears for the music that you always had playing, even if it was just instrumental that was turned low, but he was met with a silence that clawed at him. He shifted on his feet where he stood, uncomfortable in the silence that seeped into the place he knew you loved to be in and filled with life.
Namjoon wasnât blind to what happened between Hoseok, Sue, and you. The next day after everything occurred, he had received a text from Hoseok telling him everything that went down, which led to him telling Katie and their hybrid friends. Katie, like the angel she is in Namjoonâs eyes, immediately went to your side to be there while he met with Hoseok and the others at Jinâs cafĂ©.
The effects of Sueâs decision were carved into Hoseok. The scent of his hurt, sadness, and the longing for his mate permeated the air once he walked into the cafĂ©, sending the rest of their moods plummeting as they restlessly shifted in their chairs for the entire time. It had been so bad that Jin ended up having to close up for the rest of the day, or else the other hybrid customers would have felt run over by Hoseokâs emotions too.
Hoseokâs upbeat and ever hopeful personality had been diminished. Yesterday, he had worn jeans and a sweatshirt, black sunglasses hiding his teary and red rimmed eyes from sight until he removed them when he was inside the cafĂ©. Namjoon couldnât remember a time when he had seen his friend so distraught and hurt.
Even though Jin had given Hoseok his usual coffee, he only managed to take a couple sips before setting it down. The rest of the time he spent time tracing his finger around the rim and handle as he explained what happened.
Namjoon hadnât gotten a chance to see you, this was in fact his first time since the fight happened a few weeks ago, but Katie had given him little updates on how you were doing. She had told him that you were, figuratively, down in the dumps and broken hearted over being forced to be apart from Hoseok.
When she saw Namjoon chewing on his bottom lip however, she mentioned that you were still talkative and giving smiles, which had eased some of his worries. But nowâŠnow he was wondering if Katie only said that so he wouldnât be overly concerned, or if you had hidden the truth from her as well.
Like Hoseok, your grief and longing were thick in the air of the bookstore, and as Namjoon stepped closer to you, another wave of emotions hit him. His tail went down along with his ears as the sadness settled into his bones. He wanted to cry and hug Katie, guaranteeing that she wouldnât be taken away from him like Hoseok had been taken from you.
âHey Strawberry,â Namjoon gently greeted. Lowering himself on the floor next to you, he looked over the books that you were organizing. From this vantage point, he was able to see that you had stopped shelving books, and instead, you were clutching onto one particular book. Like the rest of the books had been so far, it was a nonfiction piece, but this one in particular was about hybrids â and despite your palm covering the last letter â and their mates.
Oh Strawberry, he thought to himself.
Sniffling, you rapidly blinked until the tears went back to where they belonged, and your gripped loosened on the book so that you were able to set it on the shelf among the others. âAnything in particular that I can help you with?â Unable to look at Namjoon, you went to continue placing books up, and when your hand went to reach the next one, it met air instead of a hardcover. The next stack was back over on the counter.
Namjoon reached up to rub the back of his neck. The wolf hybrid instincts in him were furious that two members of his pack were hurting, so much so that he wanted to go to Sue and personally fix this himself. Logically, he knew that this was outside of his boundaries and something that only the three of them could fix, but even when he first met everyone â over time as he got to know them and they earned his trust â they all became members of his pack, despite the fact that he was the only wolf hybrid out of everyone. Which meant, based on instincts from the wolf breed, he was the alpha. And as alpha, he not only took care of Katie, but everyone else as well.
To see only the shells of Hoseok and you, he wanted to do something, anything, to bring you two back together. Lacking the words, Namjoon glanced out the shopâs windows, the sun coming out from behind the clouds it had been hiding behind for the majority of the morning.
âDo you wanna tell me how youâre doing?â He softly asked, reaching his hand out to touch your shoulder. âAnd by that, how youâre really feeling? Because it seems like youâve been hiding it from Katie.â
You bit down on the inside of your cheek, folding your hands together in your lap since the rest of the books you had to go through were back at the desk. âWeâve been texting,â you answered, spotting a loose thread at the cuff of your jeans. âSueâs been having him run errands for her, and between work and the show coming up, he hasnât been able to stop by.â
âWhy donât you go to the Dance Studio then?â
âSueâs been making it a habit to go and watch Hoseok practice,â you answered, remembering that brief phone call. It had felt like the world had started spinning again when you received that call. All you wanted was to hear his voice, but he had warned you against stopping by the Dance Studio because of her visits.
âBaby, I want to see you so much,â Hoseok whispered. âAnd I wish you could come down, but Sueâs been coming to watch me practice and if she sees you hereâŠI donât want you to get hurt again. Iâm so sorry Strawberry, I was looking forward to seeing and holding you again, but I donât want to risk you being on the receiving end like last time.â
For the last week, the only forms of communication you had with Hoseok were texting, and Facetime. Even then, Hoseok had to have his earbuds in and kept his voice low incase Sue was listening. He didnât want to throw it in her face that he was still in contact with you and make her angry again, but he still made it a point that he was upset with her and continued to give the cold shoulder. Whether or not that was working, he wasnât sure. He had said she was acting indifferent to him not speaking to her, but he could feel her emotions unsettling when he never replied back to her.
While extremely happy to still be in contact with him, you really just want to feel him. To be wrapped up in his arms as he tightly hugged you to his chest, or to be cuddle him before falling asleep. You missed his loving touch so much.
âStrawberry,â Namjoon gently chided. âThatâs not what I asked.â
Sighing, you slowly lifted you head to look at Namjoon. Unlike Hoseok, your eyes werenât red â at least, they werenât anymore â and the concealer that you applied this morning had faded, revealing the dark circles under your eyes from sleeping alone.
Sleeping alone had never bothered you before. Sleeping with Hoseok however, had been an experience that you never wanted to give up. He loved to spoon you, claiming his spot as the big spoon to hold you tightly to his chest as his arms felt like a barrier from everything negative that wanted to come in, only allowing the positive to reach the two of you.
In his arms, you felt safe and loved.
Having all those emotions ripped away from you led to late nights with the blankets tugged up to your chin. The loss of love and protection left the bed ice cold. It was like the sun had disappeared from the sky, leaving you to curl in on yourself to try and feel whole again.
Licking your lips, you leaned your head against Namjoonâs shoulder. His arm instantly wrapped around you in a friendly hug, and while you appreciated the gesture, it just wasnât the same. âI miss him,â you admitted, grateful that no one had entered the shop. It had been emptied all day and despite it only being early in the afternoon, you were considering closing up and going home. âI miss him so much that it feels like a huge moment of my life has been ripped away from me. ItâsâŠit feels empty without him.â
âItâs the mark,â Namjoon explained, rubbing your back as he wrapped his other arm around you. Usually he wouldnât initiate so much physica contact with someone other than Katie, but you werenât only his friend, or his friendâs mate. You were a part of his pack, human or hybrid it didnât matter to him. âBecause you and Hoseok were unwillingly split, not only are you feeling your emotions, but his as well.â Kissing the top of your head, he briefly squeezed your shoulder. âHoseok misses you too.â
- - -
Hoseok panted when the music came to a stop, sweat dripping down his back as he bent down to place his hands on his knees. It was another late night at the studio and despite practicing, he wasnât satisfied.
His timing was off, his movements were no longer fluid but jerky, and he was stumbling around, something that he hadnât done in a long time. During the day he tried to hide it from the students and his coworkers, playing it off as a pulled muscle to explain why he was taking it slow. It was all a lie though.
Despite his love for dancing, his love for you was greater.
With a glance out the window, he wasnât surprised to see that the sun had set. When it had done that, he wasnât entirely sure, or really cared. He hadnât cared about much except for when he was able to text and Facetime with you. Those were the only times that he felt like he could feel an emotion besides emptiness.
âReady to go?â
Straightening up, Hoseok made eye contact with Sue in the mirror, his gaze becoming blank as he briefly nodded. To his displeasure, Sue had begun stopping in on his late-night dance practices. He had been surprised the first time she walked into the studio, only for panic to settle into his body when he realized that the night before, you had said that you were going to stop in to visit him. The thought of Sue walking in only to see you there with him brought of the memory of him as he failed to protect you. To see you in tears once more was something he couldnât handle again.
With that image permanently etched into his mind, he had snuck off to the bathroom and called you, urging you not to come to the Dance Studio because Sue was going to show up. It was only a phone call, but he remembered that night.
Despite your obvious attempts to appear collected, he saw right through you every time you Facetimed with him. The smiles you gave him didnât reach your eyes, and by then, the dark circles had just started appearing from sleepless nights. You never told him that you werenât sleeping, but he knew. He knew because without being able to hold you to his chest, he wasnât sleeping either. Hoseok spent more nights tossing and turning than he actually spent asleep.
How could he get a good nightâs rest when you werenât there? When you were hurting even more than he was?
Gathering up his gym bag, he headed out of the studio first, leaving Sue to catch up. The Dance Studio didnât officially close until ten, so there was no need for him to lock anything up. Besides, the night guard would go around to close all the rooms up once everyone was gone.
The unusually warm night air felt good against his skin as he headed towards the sidewalk. He was in need of a shower and if he stayed outside, the chance of getting a cold increased, which was the last thing he wanted since the show was next month. However, heâd suffer through ten colds if it meant he got to see you again.
Across the street was the bookstore that you worked at. The lights were shut off, which didnât surprise him, but he couldnât help but hope to see you moving around the shop for even a few seconds. While he was going to see you tonight when he Facetimes you, it just wasnât the same as seeing you in person.
âHoseok,â Sue called out, a jingle coming from her as she dug through her purse for her keys. âThe carâs over here. Letâs go.â
He didnât move. Not right away at least. For those few extra minutes, he stood there, simply breathing and watching the store. He knew you werenât there, but when he took a deep breath, he was able to pick up your scent in the air. What he would give for, to have one more chance to bury his face in your hair. To kiss and hug you all over again. He wanted you back.
Hoseok didnât speak to Sue as she drove out of the parking lot. Once again, the car ride was silent with the exception of the radio host who was too cheerful at eight at night. To distract himself, he tried to imagine what you were possibly doing at this time. The most obvious one was you sitting at your desk, the bed, or the kitchen table and getting homework done with your music playing for background noise. But he hoped that instead, you were eating dinner or curled up under a blanket and justâŠrelaxing. He knew that in stressful times you tended to overwork and forget to take a moment to just breathe.
Wrapped up in his thoughts, he didnât realize that Sue had been glancing at him repeatedly until she pulled into the driveway. The clicking of the car locks recaptured his attention immediately.
Sue was leaned back against the driverâs seat, her hands sitting in her lap as she raised an eyebrow at Hoseok. She was wearing jeans and a floral blouse, but for some reason, in that moment, he remembered that she was younger than him.
âWhen is this going to end?â Sue asked, getting straight to the point. âThis silent treatment. Itâs not working.â
Hoseok sighed, scratching at the base of his ears as he shifted in his seat. âDo you really not see the damage that youâve done?â He asked instead, looking at her. This time, he lowered his guards and instead of the blank face heâs given her, he let the pain show. âWhen did I just become a hybrid to you? When did I stop being Hoseok your friend, and became Hoseok, the hybrid you own?â
It still bothered him what Sue had said that night. Actually, everything about that day bothered him, but it especially hurt that she had physically taken out his ownership documentation out of his wallet and shoved it at him. He remembered the day he got it. Being able to hold that document and see his name along side Sueâs had felt like a dream. For the first time in so long, he was going to have a place to live for more than one night. No longer would he be sleeping on an uncomfortable cot or bench, but instead heâd be spending his nights on a bed that was his own.
Now every time he opened his wallet and saw it, he felt ashamed.
She uncomfortably shifted and looked away. Out of everything, Sue had expected Hoseok to bring up how she destroyed her friendship with you, so for him to quietly reminded of that was a surprise.
âExactly, youâre a hybrid! Did you forget? Iâm your owner, you have to do what I say.â
There were no words for her to say that would heal the wound she dug out in him. Knowing what heâs been through, and to still say that, it was a miracle that he didnât hate her. Or hate her even more.
As the silence dragged on, his ears drooped and his eyes watered up. âDo you really have nothing to say?â He softly asked. âSue, how many times to I have to say that Iâm sorry? I swear, I never knew she was my mate until recently. There was no going behind your back, we were planning on telling you as soon as you came home.â
With a shake of his head, he pressed his lips together and glanced out the car window. He had been planning on face timing you once he got to his room. Maybe this time, he wouldnât use his earbuds, or wait until he locked the door.
âYou know, Colin hated me.â
Sueâs eyes widened at Hoseokâs sudden confession. Lifting her head, she watched a bitter smile appear on his face. âHeâŠhe didnât hate you.â
Hoseok slowly nodded as if she was a small child who didnât understand. âYeah he did Sue. He never liked how close we were, and he was always looking for excuses for me to spend the weekends and nights at Strawberryâs. He thought I was in love with you for so long, and every chance he found, he made it clear that he didnât want me around.â
To finally say this out loud, was a relief that had been weighing on Hoseokâs shoulders for the last three years. The only person he was able to tell this to in complete confidence, was you. He had been wanting to tell Sue for so long but stopped himself every time he had gotten ready to tell her.
âWhy didnât you say anything?â She asked.
Now that she was no longer with Colin, it was like she was suddenly seeing everything that she never noticed during their relationship with clear eyes. She realized how pointless her question suddenly was after she spoke, because even she knew the reason when Hoseok answered.
âBecause you loved him,â he gently spoke. âColin made you so happy Sue, and I didnât want to come in-between that. You had taken me in when no one else did, gave me a home, food, a reason to believe that there were still decent people out there in the world. After all that you didnât, it was easy to let Colin beâŠColin. I could handle him because you were one of my best friends, and you loved him.â
Her bottom lip trembled as he spoke, the ache in her heart that she had numbed with the men she met while away, suddenly pulsed back to life. It hurt to remember how much she loved Colin. Walking by the places they used to go to was like a dagger in the back, and the memories of the way he always tasted like mint gum when they kissed, his lips lingering on her skin for another kiss that led to something more, made her feel like she was never going to find someone else. That there was no one else who could truly love her without feeling like they needed to have another woman on the side.
âHow long?â She whispered.
Hoseok weakly smiled, his own eyes watering up as he caught her emotions. Guilt, sadness, grief, regret. He wasnât enjoying seeing Sue like this, but for this brief moment, it was like the Sue that he met all those years ago at the Homeless Center for Hybrids, was making a reappearance. âSince the day you welcomed me into your home.â
With a quick tilt of her head, Sue looked up at the roof of the car, trying to blink her tears away as her fingers clutched her purse. Hoseok had endured this for the sole fact that Colin made her happy.
Is this how heâs feeling right now? She thought to herself, squeezing her eyes shut. He let me love a man who hated him for three years, and I ripped him away from my best friend hours after finding them together.
The car fell silent once more. Hoseok patiently waited, allowing Sue to take all the time she needed to collect herself. He didnât know what was running through her mind, but he was going to be there for her. If he had the chance to be with her in Hong Kong when everything happened, maybe things would have turned out differently.
The person that Sue had been before leaving for Hong Kong, was no longer the person she was now. Hong Kong had been an experience for her that she would never be able to forget about, but despite how it ended, she loved every minute of it.  It was the place where she was independent and finally let loose to do the things she wanted, and not what she thought was appropriate and what she was supposed to be doing. She feltâŠfree. It was trying to find a middle ground of both versions that felt like she was being torn apart.
Opening her eyes, she turned to look at Hoseok, noticing for the first time, that she wasnât the only one who had changed. Three years ago when they met, he had been guarded and had barriers in his eyes. By the time he met the others, including you, he had relaxed and opened up. Now that she thought about it, the only two people he was ever one hundred percent comfortable with, was you, and herself. It took a little time of getting to know the others before he was at ease with them, but it seemed like a connection had been instantaneous with the two of you.
Now, he sat next to her no longer the guarded twenty-one-year-old who felt hopeless, but as the twenty-four-year-old who knew who he was and what he wanted from the world. He had a passion for dancing, the infinity to make others around him smile, and he had found the person he was destined to spend forever with.
âYou love her,â Sue whispered, mimicking Hoseokâs position.
Hoseok simply nodded, looking out the windshield for a moment as a soft smile appeared when he thought about you. âYeah, I do.â Licking his lips, he met her gaze and this time, reached over to gently squeeze her hand without looking away. âIâm in love with Strawberry, but I still love you, as my friend.â
There was no point in harboring hatred for Sue. He didnât want to hate her, and he had been telling the truth about still loving her as a friend, but that didnât erase the hurt she caused. It was going to take a long time for him to forgive her, because this was going to be a moment in his life that he wouldnât be able to forget no matter how hard he tried. Just like his memories of being homeless and left and the Adoption Center when he was a child, they were never going to go away.
âShe hates me so much,â Sue thought out loud. Without looking away from Hoseok, she noticed that he neither agreed, or disagreed.
âYou hurt her,â he simply explained, speaking only the truth. âYou hurt the both of us, Sue. You came into our bedroom unannounced, screamed, threw the paperwork at her feet, all without letting her speak more than a few words. Itâs going to be a long time before sheâll be able to forgive you.â
Knowing that she had destroyed their friendship crushed her, but he was right. He was only giving her the facts and she understood that. It wasnât just her fault, they all had their own moments where they could have done things differently, but Sue had done a significant amount of damage and she was finally willing to admit that.
âWill you ever forgive me?â
He sighed and ran his free hand through his hair. âOne day,â he finally spoke. He watched as her eyes deflated, this wasnât the answer that she wanted, but it was the truth. âLike I said, there was a lot of damage that we all have to recover from. But itâs going to be a long time.â
The silence that hung in the air wasnât tense and suffocating, but it wasnât welcoming either. Instead, an understanding appeared to be met, even if it wasnât spoken. Maybe one day Sue would sit down and tell Hoseok what really happened in Hong Kong, and perhaps, you might tell her about what it was like to be with Hoseok in that way. For now, things were complicated.
âIâm gonna go up to my room,â he removed his hand from Sueâs and held onto the door handle, waiting for her to unlock the car. âIâll be video chatting with Strawberry before going to bed, so my doorâs gonna be shut.â
Sue hurriedly nodded, the car echoing as it unlocked, allowing Hoseok to get out. With a smile meant for her, he slipped his gym bag over his shoulder and for the first time, took his time walking up the short path to the house, leaving the door unlock for when she decided to enter.
He could sense that she wanted to fix what she had done, but that was just it. There was no fixing, and if he was being honest, he had no idea if you would be able to forgive her. A part of him hoped that deep down, maybe one day youâd be able to forgive her, but he understood if you couldnât.
Closing his bedroom door and unceremoniously dropping his bag, it was only seconds until the dial tone was ringing in his room as he waited for you to answer. He had been changing out of his sweaty clothes when it stopped. With a curious gaze, he smiled when your face appeared on the screen, his heart cooing at the sight of you wearing one the shirts he had left behind.
âHey baby.â
- - -
In the car, Sue wiped her eyes with the sleeve of her blouse, sniffling as she pulled the internet up on her phone. It took its sweet time since she wasnât inside her house, but when it pulled up, her thumbs flew across the key board.
When she adopted Hoseok, she hadnât really done any research on hybrids prior to that day. Afterwards, she had tried looking up information and had even read a few articles, but after a while it grew boring. Besides, why read from a book when he was literally living in the next bedroom?
She wasnât sure of the name, but after searching Hybrid Laws, The Mate Act and the Hybrid Owner Act were the third link to pop up. When the webpage pulled up, she hesitated to continue reading but forced herself too. You had the paperwork for The Mate Act in your bedroom all those weeks ago, and as she read the information, a twinge of sadness appeared. Was she actually going to give Hoseok up? After everything theyâve been through?
âPlease Sue,â you cried, âIf you let us explain-â
Her bottom lip trembled as she remembered how devastated you were when she not only found you, but took Hoseok away from you. The mark on your neck stating that he was meant to be with you and no one else. His soul and yours belonged together, and she ripped it apart.
Saving the page, she locked her phone and removed the keys from the ignition, finally going inside her house. When she had a clear mind, she would make her decision. She was too emotional right now.
But as she walked by Hoseokâs room to get to hers, she couldnât help but stop when she heard your voice, a bit broken due to it being through the phone, but she recognized it. And to hear him greet you with love in his voice â something you hadnât expected to hear from the hallway â it  sounded like that was how Hoseok was always supposed to talk to you.

Seoul â Sinchon; Seodaemun District South Korea
âYouâre a lifesaver, Raelyn-ssi!â
âYeah, thanks for coming on such short notice.â
âWe had our hands full, so we really appreciate it.â
Raelyn smiled brightly, shaking her head as she waved at her fellow nurses at the hospital she was dispatched to. They all shared a laugh in the break room, steaming paper cups of coffee cradled in each of their hands as they chatted about how busy their schedules had been. Raelynâs Korean was good enough that she could keep up with the various dialects that filled the room; from as deep in the city as Seoul to as far as the countryside as Gwangju. She enjoyed getting to know each of the nurses and orderlies who milled in and out of the main general hospital in Seodaemun.
Normally, her hospital in Gangnam was busy. But her supervisor insisted that her expertise would be better suited in Seodaemun for that week. If they needed her longer, she was given the go-ahead to remain for a few more days. Either way, she would earn a full week of PTO when she returned and she certainly wasnât about to start complaining about that.
Part of her was happy to be out of Gangnam for a few days. She needed time to process things and really think about what road she was taking. Raelyn felt slightly hypocritical when she thought about her relationship with Taehyung, and on many levels at that.
While the Golden Jackals may have been no more, it didnât change that their foundation was still a little unstable. People wouldnât shift their opinions about them so easily, though it was becoming less and less difficult to throw that mantle into their faces. However, she was no fool to how the criminal underworld worked. If anything, the lack of firearms made Korean gangsters scarier than American gangsters. In America, all a civilian needed was another gun. While a normal person could carry a knife, the difference was that Korean gangsters could all fight. All of them. They wouldnât hesitate to pierce someone with a knife or bludgeon someone to death with a steel pipe.
Getting their hands dirty was part of the territory.
When she thought about it, Raelyn probably attributed her attraction to Hoseok to that level of danger at first. Discovering that he was the leader only caused her adrenaline to soar to new heights, tickling the senses and rousing a deep-seated darkness that she had long since buried while she was living in the States. Raelyn was young and foolish in her younger years, running headlong into the fire and not caring if she wound up getting scorched or not. The feeling of her heart pumping like a piston in her chest made her feel alive. She was addicted to that chemical that released itself in her brain.
There was an actual condition for something like that. âAdrenaline Junkieâ as she had once affectionately been called by her peers. That sense of danger excited her. Dealing with Hoseok and the other Golden Jackals was guaranteed a life of said danger.
When feelings were involved, however, Raelyn realized very quickly that the criminal life wasnât for her. She could handle the backdoor dealings and under the table handshakes. She could take the mask she often had to don when she walked beside Hoseok during gatherings, both with his underlings and his main umbrella. What Raelyn couldnât handle was seeing someone she cared about constantly in pain; struggling mentally and physically with his own demons as he promised that things would change. He made those promises as easily as it was for him to breathe.
In the beginning, sheâd believed that they were all lies. That he was just saying what she wanted to hear to get her to stay by his side. It was the sort of thing Raelyn expected from most people in her life; men and women, friends and family alike. Nothing changed. Nothing ever did.
But now things were different. Things were beginning to change. Raelyn felt conflicted for the first time in a long while.
âOh, dammit,â she heard one of the orderlies say, rising from his chair to cross the breakroom, âI forgot to bring an umbrella.â
Raelyn craned her neck with the others in the room, seeing the sudden torrential downpour that fell from the skies. While everyone else groaned in shared sentiments, she smirked and continued to sip her coffee. She didnât mind the rain. She minded it even less when she didnât have an umbrella.
Itâll be fine, she thought while setting her cup down on the table, a little rain never hurt anyone.
Her phone buzzed on the table, causing her to raise a brow when she saw two messages. One was from Taehyung, asking the normal question of when she was going to come back home. She shook her head, not sure if she wanted to answer him just yet. It wasnât like she was avoiding him, but it would be a lie if she said his promise hadnât shaken her up a bit. Why he felt it was even necessary for her...what did that say about her?
Had she made it that obvious?
The second message was from Eden, which had her almost laughing.
Eden: Iâm sick of having to deal with this shit by myself. Ana is in LaLa Land and Iâm not having it. You hear me? I spoke with your supervisor and he said todayâs your last day at that hospital. Iâm coming to pick you up. Donât even think about trying to dodge me.
She picked up the phone, sending her a âsmirkâ emoji, before replacing the phone into her pocket. Raelyn scoffed, finishing her coffee and tossing the cup into the trash. If anyone didnât know any better, people would think that Eden was her girlfriend.
âRaelyn-ssi,â one of the female nurses called out to her, âare you going to be busy later? We were thinking about getting drinks after our shifts were over.â
Eyeing her wristwatch, Raelyn sighed. She was scheduled to do one more walk through of her rounds and then she could call it a day. By the time she finished, Eden would be arriving at the hospital.
Looking up at her fellow nurse, she shook her head and smirked. âIâll have to take a raincheck, Mina-ssi. My ride is going to be here after we do our rounds.â
A few of her colleagues pouted and she laughed. It was a short amount of time she was dispatched to the hospital, but they already welcomed her as one of them. It was nice to be valued for her skills and who she was as a person versus the color of her skin.
Fifteen minutes seemed to fly by faster than sheâd anticipated. As soon as Raelyn finished checking on her last patient, she made her way to the front desk to let them know she was leaving for the evening. Already other nurses and orderlies were coming in to relieve the Day Side crew of their shift â taking on the evening hours until the Overnight shift would come in to replace them .
As if on cue, her phone buzzed and it was a message from Eden telling her that she was pulling up. The rain hadnât eased up. If anything, it was coming down harder than it had just a while ago. Mulling over the downpour, Raelyn was inwardly thanking Eden for being so stubborn. A little rain never hurt anyone, but a lot of rain in early Spring could cause someone to get sick. Maybe even her.
She waved to the receptionist at the front desk, clutching at her light jacket and bag. As she exited the building, Raelyn stopped just short of the hospitalâs awning. She looked around, trying to spy out Edenâs car, and pouted when she didnât see the mixed girlâs vehicle in sight. Pulling out her phone, she began texting her that she was outside. Raelyn pouted, tapping her foot on the concrete pavement.
âShe demands I donât ditch her, and she goes and ditches me ,â she muttered, turning her head in every direction to see if maybe sheâd just missed her friend, âthat bitch.â
âTake your fuckinâ hands off me!â
Whipping her head to the right, Raelynâs eyes widened slightly. It was Edenâs voice. Taking a half step forward, the fronts of her shoes got wet from the water splashing on the ground. Squinting, she tried to make out what was happening in the parking lot. Eden was standing there with an umbrella opened over her head, her other hand clinging to a smaller one â presumably for Raelyn. However, there were about four men attempting to accost her.
Raelyn took another step forward, about to intervene. But before she could open her mouth and yell, she saw Eden dropping the umbrella in her hand only to extend the smaller one in her other hand, rearing her arms around her and swinging like she was holding a baseball bat. Successfully clobbering one on the side of the neck, Raelyn could only watch as her friend spun on her heel and smashed her combat clad foot into the gut of one of the men who tried to grab her by the shoulder.
Sighing, Raelyn knew that it was useless trying to get in the middle of one of Edenâs scuffles. The woman was damned and determined to spit in the face of society because they continued spitting in hers. She was hoping that giving Jungkook a chance would loosen Eden up, but it only proved to get the woman even more riled up than usual.
Just as Raelyn was about to take a lean against one of the hospital pillars, one of the men reached out and snatched Eden by the back of her hair. He grabbed a fistful of her hair and pulled back, causing Edenâs head to whip back and she yelled in protest. Raelynâs legs moved before her mind could process anything, her shoes splashing in small puddles of water as she attempted to close the distance between her and her friend.
âHey! Get your hands off her!â
No sooner had Raelyn yelled it, did the man holding Edenâs hair scream in pain. He immediately wrenched his hand from her thick curly locks, now soaked in the downpour. Clutching at his wrist, she saw the blood weeping from his fingers and palm. Raelyn skidded to a halt, blinking wildly as she attempted to process just what in the hell just happened. Tilting her head, she didnât have time to really get a look at the manâs hand before she saw Edenâs knee crash into the side of his temple.
As Edenâs boot slammed into the ground, soft tinkling sounds followed. Raelynâs eyes shifted to the ground and she could only stare agape at the three razor blades now on the ground. Her eye-line moved to meet Edenâs and her friend smirked, tossing the small umbrella to Raelyn who caught it robotically in her hands.
âI brought this so you wouldnât have to be standinâ out in the rain,â she replied cheekily. All Raelyn could do was stare at her. Eden cocked her head to the side. âWhat?â
ââŠdid you really justââ
Before she could get the words out, one of the other men grabbed Eden by the wrist â yanking her backward with all the force he could muster. Her heels slipped on the wet concrete and Raelyn let out a sharp gasp when Eden slammed back-first onto the ground. There was a distinct pop from her shoulder and her yell exploded from her chest.
âMotherâŠfucker!â Eden snarled through clenched teeth, glaring at the man holding her arm through one open eye. âLet go of me!â
âLet go of her!â Raelyn screamed in tandem with her friend, ready to clobber him with the umbrella the same way her friend had.
âOi! Let her go, Taewon-ah,â called a voice over the roaring rainstorm.
The man immediately released Edenâs arm, her limb splashing into the water and Raelyn was at her friendâs side â already helping her onto her feet. Her arm dangled limply at her side, but she could feel Eden shaking furiously in her grasp. Whatever pain her friend was in, she apparently didnât care. The mixed girl was ready to fight like a wild tiger whoâd had its whiskers pulled.
Standing off to the side was a man with dark auburn hair dressed in a long black trench coat, a tailored gray suit underneath. He held a clear umbrella over his head, the four men who assaulted Eden now standing by his side. They clasped their hands in front of them, stoic like soldiers despite one of the menâs hands bleeding freely in conjunction with the rain. Still mentally reeling over her friend having razor blades hidden in her hair, she turned to head back inside to treat Edenâs dislocated shoulder.
âI can see why sheâs the Steel Claw âs girlfriend,â she heard the man say from behind her.
Raelyn paused, slowly pivoting around but careful not to aggravate Edenâs arm further. âWhat did you say?â
âSheâs feisty, that one.â He grinned, one hand slipping into the pocket of his jacket. âItâs almost a waste, really.â
Eden spit at him despite being several feet away. âAnd who in the fuck are you?â
He bowed his head politely, his eyes still locked on theirs. âLee Minhyuk,â he said easily, straightening to his full height, âJindo Dog of the Jade Fangs.â
A ball of ice crashed into Raelynâs gut. âW-What?â She tried to maintain her sense of calm, but found it was difficult the more she stared into his icy smile.
Her friendâs laughter cut through her trepidation. âAnd weâre supposed to give a shit, why? Whatâs that got to do with those punks following me around like some fuckinâ cockroaches, huh?â
Raelyn was angry now. âYou should know by now that the Golden Jackals have phased out from gangster business. Why do you guys insist on poking around?â
Minhyuk shrugged one shoulder. âIn our world, itâs not so easy to step into the light. It's a fickle place and treats scoundrels like us as little more than garbage.â Even though his smile was present, his eyes narrowed. âChangkyun-ah is curious, is all.â
âAbout what?â Raelyn snapped, readjusting her hold on Eden.
âHe wants to know if what Hoseok-ah and the others are doing is genuine or just some big show to hide their true plans.â He shrugged again, closing his eyes this time. âAnd what it will take to drag them back into the shadows with the rest of us.â
âYou lousy sack of shit!â Eden shifted forward, attempting to lunge at Minhyuk but Raelyn held her back.
Minhyuk chuckled, pivoting so that only his profile was in view. âOne of the tigers has claws. That makes things interesting, for sure. I apologize for the boysâ behavior. They get a little excited from time to time.â Craning his neck slightly so he could face them, he bowed his head again in a polite gesture that was in stark contrast to what his actual words were conveying. âTake care, ladies.â
Neither of them moved, watching Minhyuk leave with his small entourage. When it finally appeared that they were gone, Raelyn felt Eden slump against her. Without wasting another second, she yelled for help and a few of the EMTs who were pulling up for their shift came to her aid. They hauled Eden onto a gurney and wheeled her into the hospital, Raelyn already calling Jungkook to let him know what happened.
The rain was lost to the sound of her raging heartbeat.

Special To Me
Peter Parker x Reader
A/N: First Peter Parker fic! Itâs official, I have moved into the Marvel fandom. Iâm more than happy to be writing a spoodermoon fic first because he has always been my most favourite superhero out of literally any universe. I based this on the Tom Holland spider-verse, only because itâs the most written one at the moment and itâs the whole rage with the new movie too, which shock horror, I still havenât seen yet. I know - fake fan. I just donât have the time or money to go to the cinema yet. Well anyway, lots of doubt and lots of anxiety with this fic but I really hope itâs ok. I must also credit the plot because I was so stuck with ideas and I found the plot as an imagine thing on google images of all places, so credit to whoever made the plot up. PS. if you want some good marvel fics to read, try any of @justabigassnerd because her stuff is incredible. Enjoy! Moose :)
--------------------
âPETER PARKER!â You continued knocking loudly, becoming more and more frustrated as you stood outside of your boyfriendâs apartment, waiting for the door to finally open, âPETER COME ON!âÂ
âShut it, lady, some of us are trying to enjoy the evening!â An angry neighbour from down the hallway called out from his own apartment.Â
You stuck your tongue out at him before sighing from the embarrassment of how childish you felt, before going back to the incessant knocking on Peterâs door, âPETER I TEXTED YOU, YOU KNEW I WAS COMING!âÂ
âI know, I know, Iâm so sorry, Y/N!â The door finally swung open, revealing a very sweaty Peter stood in front of you.Â
âWhy did it take you so long to open the door?â You groaned, stepping into his apartment and flinging your bag to the side.Â
âI-I was on patrol while you were at study group. I got your text but I was on the other side of the city and then when you were banging on the door, I was trying to get out the suit and-âÂ
âPete, Pete! Itâs okayâ you laughed slightly, âIâm sorry, I didnât realise you were going on patrol tonightâÂ
âWell, I wasnât planning on it but I knew that I had some time left while you were at study group and so I justâŠbit the bullet and went outâ he shrugged, âSpeaking of, how was study group?âÂ
âDonât askâ you collapsed face first on his bed, groaning at the relief of relaxation after the long day.Â
âFlash?âÂ
âYou know, you would never know that he was trying to get into StanfordâŠlike the rest of the study group. Hence, the AP Stanford Study GroupâÂ
âHe doesnât deserve to be in there,â Peter said.Â
âHe deserves it as much as anyone else in the world, PeteâÂ
âBut heâs not been offered a scholarship placement, was he? Unlike someone else I knowâ he smiled, sitting down in his desk chair.Â
âI havenât been offered it, Pete. Iâm just going for it. But so is MJ and Liz and Flash and-âÂ
âYeah, I get it, Y/N. A lot of people are going for itâ he laughed, âI more meant that only one of you is going to get it and that one will be youâÂ
âTo assume is to make an ass out of you and me,â you said into the pillow, feeling yourself fall deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation, almost asleep.Â
âI hate youâ he smirked, standing up and ruffling your hair playfully, âIâm just going to shower, get dressed and then weâll head out, ok?âÂ
âHead out?â You finally rose from your plank position, looking up towards Peter, âWhy would we go out?âÂ
Peter laughed loudly, crossing his arms as he looked down at you, âYouâve forgotten, havenât you?âÂ
âForgotten what?â You questioned, âI havenât forgotten anythingâ
âWhatâs today?âÂ
âSaturday?â
âY/N, itâs our two year anniversary todayâÂ
You stared at Peter momentarily, seeing his smirk grow larger and larger into a wide grin as he realised that you had, indeed, forgotten the anniversary.Â
âSHIT!â You cried, hiding your face back in his pillow, hearing Peter continue to laugh more and more next to you, âOh Pete, I am so, so, so sorryâ
âY/N, itâs-âÂ
âNo, noâ you stood up quickly, reaching out to hold Peterâs arms, âI forgot our two year anniversary! I havenât got you anything or even said âHappy Anniversary Peter, I love youâ oh god I am such an idiotâÂ
âY/N, itâs ok. I knew you would forgetâÂ
Those words made you stop banging your head against Peterâs chest, âYou what?âÂ
âY/N, letâs be real here. You are studying near 24/7, and I donât blame you. There isnât anyone in the world that wantâs you to get the scholarship at Stanford more than me. I kinda knew that you would forget todayâÂ
âPete, I am so sorry. How can I make this up to you?âÂ
âLet me treat you to a nice evening to celebrate two years togetherâÂ
âOh god, I am such a bad girlfriend. Karen would be a better girlfriend than meâ you sighed, hiding your face in Peterâs chest once again as he laughed, kissing the top of your head.Â
âShe wouldnât be badâ he teased, chuckling when you slapped him with mock offence, âBut I canât kiss KarenâÂ
You smiled sheepishly, kissing Peter when he leant down towards you.Â
âNow, you hang about while I go and take a quick shower and then, madam, I will take you out to a secret location where we will do the secret thing that I have planned to do tonightâÂ
âYou donât even sound remotely creepy right nowâ
âI love you tooâ Peter kissed you quickly once again, before leaving you to take that well-needed shower.Â
Sighing, you went and sat in the front room, turning on the TV to watch whatever crap was on when May walked through the front door.Â
âY/N! Hey, sweetieâ she smiled, leaning down to kiss the top of your head.Â
âHi MayâÂ
âHappy anniversaryâÂ
âI forgot,â you said timidly, turning around to see the amusement on her face, her grin almost identical to Peterâs.Â
âPete said you wouldâ Â
âI am such a bad girlfriendâÂ
May laughed, unloading the groceries she had brought earlier onto the kitchen counter, âYou know, I always forgot my anniversaries with all my boyfriends. And I wasnât studying as hard as you. Howâs that going, by the way?âÂ
âItâs certainly goingâ You sighed, turning the TV off as nothing interesting was on anyway, âPete is helping me a lot too. The study group sets a load of assignments and fortnightly tests which Pete helps me revise for. Honestly, I wouldnât even have a shot at getting the scholarship if it werenât for Peter. And, as a thank you for all his hard work helping me, I forget our anniversaryâÂ
âIt happens to the best of us, sweetieâÂ
âMayâŠI-I really donât know how to make it up to himâ you sighed, almost with desperation.
âHow long have you known Pete, huh?â May questioned, folding her arms just as Peter had done earlier. Honestly, there was no doubt that they were the same person.Â
âI donât knowâŠlike 7 years?âÂ
âThen youâll know exactly what to do, hunâÂ
âHey, you ready to go?â Peter appeared in the front room, his hair still slightly wet from the shower.Â
âHey, handsome!â May waved, making her presence known, âYou look niceâÂ
âMayâŠâ he groaned.
âSheâs rightâ you looked him up and down, the sight of him in his jeans and a blue Henley, noticing the accessory placed upon his nose, âI see youâre styling the glasses tonight, ParkerâÂ
âYeah, alright, stop lookingâŠboth of you. Youâre making me feel self-consciousâ he laughed, shying away to try and hide the faint blush that crept onto his cheeks, âYou ready to go, Y/N? We need to get to where weâre going before Christmas, ideallyâÂ
âAlright, alright, Iâm ready. I just need to call my mumâÂ
âDonât worry, Iâll do that, Y/Nâ May offered, âYou two just go and enjoy yourselves. And pleaseâŠno getting into any troubleâÂ
âCanât make any guaranteeâs, Mayâ Peter laughed, taking your hand.Â
âThe city needs its friendly neighbourhood Spidermanâ you added.Â
âThe city can just wait for tonight, thoughâ Peter looked back and smiled, walking back to his bedroom.Â
âUhâŠPete? Weâre back in your bedroomâÂ
âYeah, I knowâ he smirked.Â
âI know I screwed up by forgetting, but your plan isnât in your bedroom, is it?âÂ
âNoâ he laughed, fiddling with his shirt before climbing up onto his window, holding his arm out âCome onâ
âWhat? We canât just drive there like normal people?â You teased, almost hoping he was joking.Â
âNot where weâre goingâ he gestured with his arm once again, âCome on. Hold on tightâÂ
âOh yes, because Iâm just going to hold on loosely while you swing me 3000ft in the airâ you mocked, wrapping your arms around his neck and torso, âJust donât drop meâ
âWhen have I ever dropped you?â Peter asked, stepping onto the ledge outside.
âLikeâŠ6 months agoâÂ
Peter stopped, just as he was about to shoot his first web, âWait, what? I didnât drop youâÂ
âYes, you did!â You laughed, âAsk Karen if you donât believe me. We were out in Central Park one night and you were swinging me around and you dropped me. It wasnât a very long drop, but I ended up having a big ass bruise on my hip and thigh for a very long time. Lying to my parents really tested my lying abilitiesâÂ
A moment of silence passed as the two of you looked at each other, you laughed as you could see the cogs turning in his brain as he tried desperately tried to remember that night.Â
âI didnât drop youâÂ
âAlright, tough guyâŠIâm holding tightâ you sighed, leaning your head in towards the crook of his neck, gripping tightly onto his body. You squealed as you felt the two of you drop, but you felt Peterâs arm wrapped tightly around your middle, holding onto you safely. You felt the wind starting to knot your hair, your eyes still shut tight. Peter had been swinging you around the city for years now, but you still found it terrifying every time he would.Â
âOpen your eyes, princess!â Peter called over the sound of the New York traffic, âItâs almost as beautiful as youâÂ
âAlways with the smooth talk, even when weâre travelling by literal strings of high school chemistry a thousand feet above the ground with no safety other than just you and your powersâ you cried, opening your eyes slightly to see the scenery around you. However, you realised it was a mistake when you felt your head spin, your eyes water painfully and your stomach in your throat.Â
âUhâŠPete?âÂ
âYes?â He asked, still swinging from building to building effortlessly as you continued to wrap your entire self around his torso.Â
âAre we nearly there? Iâm getting a bit travel sickâÂ
âYou are?â He asked, leaning down close to your ear to make sure you could hear him as you had approached a busier part of Brooklyn, âJust hold on, just a couple more swingsâÂ
He stayed true to his word, and you landed swiftly on the top of some sort of structure. His hands stayed firmly planted on your waist as you kept your head down and burrowed, trying to get rid of the sick feeling.
âHow you holding up?â He whispered, panting slightly from the journey.Â
âI-I think itâs because I havenât eaten todayâ you breathed, wrapping your arms fully around him to embrace him in a tight hug.Â
âYou didnât eat?â He asked, concerned, feeling you shake your head on his chest, âGood thing I set this up then, huh?âÂ
You opened your eyes and looked up towards Peter, noticing that you were up high. You glanced around, gasping and holding on tightly to Peterâs arm when you realised you were stood on the very top of the Brooklyn Bridge, overlooking the evening of Brooklyn and Manhattan.Â
âYouâre okay, youâre with meâ Peter chuckled, wrapping his arms around you to make you feel some sort of safety, âYouâre not going anywhereâÂ
âWhy did you bring me up here?â You asked, breathing heavily with fear.Â
âLook down and youâll see whyâÂ
You did as he told you and saw a blanket laid out just to the left of you, laden with the best pizza in New York, chocolate covered fruits and marshmallows, and bags upon bags of your favourite sweets. There was also a speaker, ready to play the playlist Peter had made for the evening. Pillows and other blankets were strewn about, a few candles littered around the bridge nearby to make sure that the two of you were lit well enough, but nothing would catch fire. You felt the tears rise in your eyes, and your breathing stopped momentarily.Â
âHow did I do?âÂ
You jumped, hearing his voice whisper behind you, his hands still lingering softly on your waist. With the complete surprise, you completely forgot he was there.Â
âPeteâŠâ you breathed out, âI canât-youâŠâÂ
âWords, princessâ he laughed, taking your hand and leading you down towards the blanket, âForm sentencesâÂ
âYou did goodâ you nodded, still trying not to cry with the overwhelming emotions you were feeling.Â
âYou said you were hungryâŠso my Spidey senses to buy you all your favourite thingsâÂ
âOh yeah, your Spidey sensesâ you laughed, watching as Peter plugged his phone into the speaker, playing your favourite song in the background, âI could not be a worse girlfriend right nowâÂ
âDonât say that,â Peter said, opening the pizza box to reveal the tastiest looking pizza you had ever seen in your life.Â
âBut look at all this! I forget our anniversary and you plan this all out amazingly and make me cry!âÂ
âIâll be real with you right now, Y/Nâ he said with his mouth full of pizza, âYou just being with me is enough. I want to give youâŠeverything I can give you in the world. I want to protect you for as long as I live, and I just want to make you happy. You have made these past two years the best two years of my life. Thatâs why I also got youâŠâÂ
âPete, you didnât need to do any moreâ you sighed, watching him pull something out of his back pocket.Â
âThisâŠit isnât the real deal yet, but this is just a temporary thing until I can replace it with-âÂ
âOh my god, Peteâ you stared at the ring box.
âIts a uhhâŠa promise ringâ he smiled proudly, opening the box and revealing the ring with a small diamond.Â
âPete, itâs beautifulâ you sighed, holding your hand out to let Peter slide the smooth, metal band onto your finger.Â
âBeautiful ring for the most beautiful girlâÂ
âYouâre so cheesyâ you laughed, still looking at your hand.Â
âSoâs this pizza, dig inâ he smiled, gesturing toward the pizza that was steaming in front of you.Â
âYou know, PeteâŠa couple of years ago, I would not have expected the Peter I know today. You were so shy, you would stumble on your words in every sentence and you would barely touch me. You were so sheepish. Now look at you! Global superhero and the most confident guy aroundâÂ
âYou made me the guy I am todayâŠand I donât know about you, but I kinda like this guyâÂ
âI love himâ you leant in to kiss his cheek before stealing a bite of his slice of pizza.Â
âHey! You have your own! I didnât eat either today because I knew I was planning this!âÂ
âNot my faultâ you chuckled, sitting back against a propped up pillow on a strut of the bridge, resting your feet on Peterâs legs, âSo, how was patrol this evening?âÂ
âThe usualâŠnot a lot going on. I did stop a mugging thoughâÂ
âYouâre kiddingâ you sat up, âWhat did you do? Did you have to chase him across the city and then give him a beating to make him give up whatever he stole? Did you have to-to-I canât think of anything elseâÂ
âNoâ he laughed, âI showed up and he apologised immediately and handed the bag back to the lady he stole it fromâÂ
âOh wowâŠâ you sighed, laughing along with Peter as you imagined what it would have been like, âWhat a wimpâÂ
âNah, I think he was just scaredâ Peter wiped his hands clean as he finished his slice, âNo one messes with your boyfriendâÂ
âWellâŠno one messes with Spidermanâ you corrected, âPeople would mess with Peter Parkerâ
âWell thatâs not very niceâÂ
âIâm only kidding, Peteâ you smiled, moving across to wrap your arms around Peter once again, âI am so, so lucky to be able to call you mine. Every girl in this city wants to be with you, but Iâm the one that gets to keep youâÂ
âIâm not that specialâ he blushed, his gaze changing to look at the sunset in front of the two of you.
âPete, youâre a fucking avenger! You have powers! In every aspect, may I addâ you winked, kissing his cheek when you heard his laugh, âYou are so specialâŠnot just to the city or hell, the worldâŠbut you are SO special to meâÂ
âStawp itâ he faked an accent, âYouâre making me blushâÂ
âOkay, babeâŠwhat accent are you trying to do?âÂ
âBasic white bitch?â He asked, not sure himself, âEat the strawberries, I made them myselfâÂ
âWhat? You made them from scratch? You grew them?â you raised your eyebrows, taking a bite out of the first strawberry you picked up.Â
âWellâŠI dipped them in chocolateâ he said.
âVery good, Pete. Very niceâÂ
âIâm glad I could please youâ he kissed your temple, rubbing his hand up and down your arm as you continued to eat the strawberries.Â
The evening continued as the two of you talked and laughed, eating at the picnic Peter had prepared. The sun began to go down as Peter held you tightly in his arms, the traffic below becoming quieter as the night went on. There was a long moment of silence as the two of you watched the river below shine in the evening dusk.
âThis is really beautiful. And the evening was so thoughtful of youâ you finally spoke up, your head resting on Peterâs shoulder, mindlessly tracing your fingers across his arm that was wrapped around you, âThank you so much for making this the best evening ofâŠwell, my lifeâÂ
âOf your life?â He looked down at you with a proud smile.
âYeahâ you met his gaze, âOf my lifeâÂ
Peter leant down to kiss you, his smile growing as you wrapped your arms around his neck to deepen the kiss. You started to laugh when his curls tickled you, making you move your hands through his hair. God, it was so soft. The two of you pulled away, but Peter kept your hand in his, bringing the promise ring up towards his lips to kiss it gently.Â
âYouâre so cheesy it makes me wanna throw upâÂ
âNah, you love it reallyâ he laughed, opening his arms up to invite you to sit with him again.Â
No more words were said as the sun continued to go down, the evening becoming calmer and quieter. The sky was a gorgeous painting of purples, pinks and dusky blues. You could not have been more comfortable in the arms of Peter, your head resting on his shoulder and your feet tangled up together as the music played in the background. You felt like you were in a movie. You felt so relaxed and sleepy that you yawned⊠and loudly.Â
âYou getting sleepy, Princess?â Peter asked with a slight chuckle, seeing you blush from how loudly you yawned.Â
âIâm just relaxedâ you smiled, although now that Peter had mentioned it, you felt your eyes become heavy.Â
âLet me fix thatâ he smiled, scooting out from underneath you and letting you sit alone. Grabbing his web-shooters, he fired them continuously against two bars of the bridge.Â
âPete, what are you doing? You asked, very confused as to what he was doing.Â
âYouâll seeâ he smiled, still firing webs, âand voilaâÂ
âI donât get itâ you stared at his work, still trying to work out what he made.Â
âThatâs because itâs not finished yet!â He teased, taking off his web-shooters before gathering up all the pillows and blankets that were currently on the blanket and placing them on his âmasterpieceâ
âI-I donât think you understand what voila means thenâÂ
âAlright smart-ass! VOILA!âÂ
âItâs a-a-âÂ
âA hammock!â He smiled proudly, like a young child showing his teacher a picture he drew.Â
âYou made a hammockâŠout of webs?â You asked, almost impressed, âIsnât it going to be reallyâŠI donât knowâŠsticky?âÂ
âHence pillows and blanketsâ he gestured, sitting down gently so not to break the webs attaching said hammock to the posts, opening his arms to welcome you in. You sighed and shook your head, a soft smile on your face as you obliged and sat carefully next to Peter, feeling his arms engulf you. You gasped quietly when you felt the hammock go down ever so slightly.Â
âY/N, these webs are stronger than me, and I dunno about you but I think Iâm pretty damn strongâÂ
âThis is no time to flex about your biceps, Peteâ you joked, shuffling down to make yourself comfortable among the numerous pillows and the fully grown not-so-human boy next to you.Â
âI didnât even have to work for themâ he raised his eyebrows, making you laugh.Â
âShut upâ you laughed, the sunset highlight Peterâs face perfectly. How could he be so cute? You sighed as you felt your eyes close, Peterâs foot placed firmly on the ground to keep the hammock rocking to send you to sleep. The sun continued to lower and the sky became littered with stars, which was rare for New York, which was usually always so cloudy at night. You felt a sort of contempt in Peterâs arms as you began to fall asleep underneath the stars on the top of Brooklyn Bridge, as any teenager does.Â
âHereâs to another two yearsâ you sighed, finally falling into a deep sleep.Â
âNahâ he kissed your head softly, his foot still swinging back and forth as he smiled down lovingly at you, âHereâs to forevermoreâ
