like, one of the main jokes about the capitalism cat and dog boy are that they're the most normal people in this setting. They're a cat boy cam boy and his dog boy sugar daddy but like, they're also just a college student and a guy with a really boring 9 to 5 job.

And that's funny because magic is real in this setting. Arlo the asshole unicorn and his werewolf boyfriend who wants to kill him are less than a hundred miles away. The forest outside of town is home to some asshole's husband's reanimated corpse. It's hunting park rangers for sport. The dog boy's best friend is married to an actual demon.

They have a Really normal and almost realistic life while being a cat boy and a dog boy in a setting where Connecticut doesn't exist (it's just a big hole).

#i can not stress this enough #the fact they are a dog boy and a cat boy has absolutely 0 effect on the plot outside of some flavor text #they are this way purely because its funnier #Also it makes it Way Way funnier when magic shit Does happen to them #like #I give Arlo a lot of shit for being the fuckin Worst.#But Haze is absolutely a close second and hes married to Alistair ie Eadwulf's best friend #so hes the magic bitch inflicting his own brand of assholery onto the plot #in this one #idk Adi having to come up with an excuse for why he missed his test because an actual demon decided Adi needed to help set up decorations #for the pta meeting Haze was hosting bc Haze didn't want to do it himself #Not because that happening isnt believable #but because there wouldn't be an easy way to explain why Adi specifically got picked to do this when his only connections to him are #a. Adi is fucking Eadwulf (they are trying to keep this a secret to prevent people thinking he just banged his way to the top)#and met Haze that way #or B. Haze is a fan of Adi's livestreams. Another thing Adi Really doesn't want people to know about
