i also figured out why ive been drawn to police procedurals for so long despite distrusting cops since kindergarten (long story) and it's bc they're part soap opera part horror drama. every time my dad hears my sib & i watching CPD he thinks it's a scary movie . meanwhile sib & i are cackling at the conservatism and melodrama . being a fan of this type is so inch resting bc lefty art ppl think you genuinely like the police if you're amused by any fake cop, and conservatives & normies don't get why you're doing queer theory w the fake boys in blue
