Just watched Funny Games (2007) for the Tim Roth whump because I watched a few gifsets and liked what I saw… Anyway, I have never been more pissed off at a movie IN MY LIFE and not in a fun cathartic way. This movie is, in fact, the polar opposite of catharsis.

I need to strangle those motherfuckers for my own sanity.

#Funny Games (2007)#I pirated it off EffedUpMovies and legit thought the goregrind track and abrupt credits were edited in for copyright reasons #but that’s just how the damn thing is #It’s trying to be The Shout (1978) so hard that it’s almost laughable but it’s not laughable so it’s pissing me OFF #I feel like they just threw the ending together and slapped some random metaphysics talk in there at the end to seem profound #when really it’s just a lack of effort #But it was extremely well-shot and made the tiniest details drag on and on very painfully #But somehow the entire film was also extremely pretentious #Which is actually an ingenious choice because it’s like the two brothers were directing the entire thing instead of a movie director #So it’s actually not lazy; it’s just purposefully done that way #But I’m still mad about it. Can’t help it.
