To trust that he will protect her, and she knows he will. But he has to make sure she knows. He is promising her of this, and he needs to make sure that she knows he’ll fulfill it this time. That he will not let her get hit. That he’ll protect the both of them. That he’ll make sure the coast is far clear before he gives her the go-ahead to come out.
