Hiiii can i make a request for a possessive neteyam 🥹 i need one where he x reader argue, and he says something hurtful because he’s jealous and reader goes to leave the hut to cool off because she’s hurt but he makes it up to her ;) WINK WINK maybe a little touch of a begging neteyam as well hehe
Dirty filthy nasty talk as well sorry I’m done now LMAO
SOMEONE ELSE !
a/n — hi love! sorry i don't really feel comfortable writing smut with neteyam (or anyone lmao) just yet 😭 so i just made it a lil suggestive at the end i hope that's ok!! / also since the end is suggestive and implied to lead to something neteyam's aged up cause he's a minor and that would be awk🧍‍♂️
To say you and Neteyam were inseparable was practically an understatement. Ever since you'd met as kids, you always stuck together. You were there for each other when you got your ikrans, even, and you'd always go on rides together. A dynamic duo, people liked to call you.
So of course, when his family left the clan for the safety of everyone, you couldn't just let your mate leave you. So with some convincing and promising that the Sully's would take you in as their own, your parents reluctantly agreed, deciding you could choose your own future.
Though you missed the forrest, being by the ocean was something you'd never experienced before, and it was one of the most beautiful sights you've ever seen. There were so many creatures and the people were different in many ways, you were excited to learn about everything.
However, you grew less and less thrilled when you realized the time you spent with Neteyam would diminish to very little. He was always out and about, getting to ride his ilu and protecting his siblings from those in the village who looked down upon them. He was always so stressed, so tired, that when you did hang out, you always felt like a burden, or an argument would start.
So you started to keep your distance, and as a result, met new people and made new friends. You started to enjoy the presence of a boy named Rotxo, who was allegedly one of Ao'nung's friends. You were skeptic at first, not hearing so good things about his friend, but the more you got to know him, he became a trustworthy friend. He heard all about your struggles with Neteyam, always a good listener and giving good advice.
Although, Neteyam didn't see you and Rotxo's relarionship as anything friendly. In fact, whenever he spotted you two, he could be sulking for the rest of the day. Granted, it was his fault you two haven't been talking as much, and he could probably just have talked to you about it. But he didn't know how, and as a result, you'd found another person to fill his company.
Was he really that easy to replace?
Finally having enough, Neteyam wordlessly grabbed your arm, dragging you away mid-conversation with Rotxo. He ignored your protests and took to a secluded area, stopping only to be met with a harsh glare.
"What the hell, Neteyam?" You shouted, crossing your arms. Yikes. He didn't think that one through. "What's your problem? I was talking to him!"
"Well maybe I don't want you talking to him!"
"Why?" You inquired, annoyed at his antics. "You don't get to decide who I can and can't talk to. I'm my own person. Plus he's my friend. And he's been better company than you, as of late."
His heart dropped at the blow, knowing you were right. "It just makes me uncomfortable, okay? I don't like him being close to you."
"Oh, you don't like someone else enjoying my company? Sorry Neteyam, but I'm not going to wait around alone and close myself off from everyone else just because you refuse to talk to me! I happen to enjoy talking to Rotxo, and there's nothing you can do that will stop me."
"Fine then," he snapped, jealousy overcoming him. "Go! Go be with Rotxo. See if I care," he paused, sinking his fingers into the palms of his fists and unable to stop himself from digging an even bigger whole. "I have others who want my company. There's many metkayina women who would enjoy my presence."
Offended that he would say such a thing, you scoffed, not recognizing the man standing in front of you. "Fine then! Go be with another woman!"
"I will!" He responded without thinking, immediately regretting it when he saw the look on your face.
"I never want to see you again." You seethed, eyes glossy as you walked hastily away from him, leaving a regretful Neteyam.
The days that passed by all felt like a blur, your heart throbbing. Did he really mean that? Was he tired of you? Were you making a mistake when you decided to follow him and his family? Rotxo listened to all your worries, comforting you and helping you avoid Neteyam at all costs.
He kept looking for you, wanting a chance to apologize. He wishes he had just kept his mouth shut, or went after you once you walked away. The scene replayed in his head constantly, thinking of what he could've done different to make you not hate him.
So he waited until after eclipse, and when everyone else went to bed, he went out to the beach, knowing you would be there. You always enjoyed the solitude of nighttime, when nobody else was awake and you could watch the waves peacefully on your own.
Neteyam slowly made his way up to you, awkwardly clearing his throat to grab your attention. When you actually turned around and focused on him he was shocked, wide eyed and speechless. "Um, hi."
"Hi." you curtly responded, ready to leave when he grabbed your hand.
"Please, y/n. I want to apologize." He pleaded.
You gave him a look, as if saying to get on with it. He hesitated, not completely sure what to say. "I'm...i'm sorry. I didn't mean it. Any of it. I was jealous that you were spending more time with Rotxo."
You stayed silent still, making him nervous. "And I don't want another woman," he added, looking you dead in the eye. "I wouldn't dream of it. You are the one I want to be with for the rest of my life. You are kind, sweet, loyal, and have been nothing but the best for me. I took that for granted, so when I saw you enjoying the company of another, it pissed me off. I cannot stand the thought of you being with someone who isn't me." he stopped, and you noticed his eyes starting to glimmer in the moonlight.
"I'm sorry. Truly. And if you don't forgive me I understand." Neteyam finally finished, his chest rising up and down shakily.
"Oh, ma Neteyam," you cooed, taking his face in your hands. You wiped away the tears that fell down his face with your thumbs, kissing where they fell. "I could never want anyone other than you. I just need you to talk to me next time, okay? No more keeping your problems from me. I'm here to help you with your burdens, not hide them."
The boy nodded wordlessly, pressing a chaste kiss to your lips. "I promise, my love. I will never make you feel like I want someone else again."
He then trailed kisses down your jaw, lips softly moving over the skin of your neck. His teeth grazed over it, biting lightly. He chuckled from the soft sound that left your throat, kisses drifting down below your neck. He pressed you against a tree, knee separating your legs.
"Neteyam, not here." You breathed out, not making any attempt to stop him. But, you really didn't want to get caught by anyone in a public area like this.
"Shh, my love," he soothed, hands wafting towards your loincloth. "I'm gonna make it up to you, okay?"
Oh, you were in for a long night.
a/n — i literally had no idea how to write the ending i'm sorry if it's bad 🧍‍♂️

Orphic (pt.2)
pairing; Ao'nung x Sully!reader Orphic; (adj.) mysterious and entrancing; beyond ordinary understanding words; 4,727 warnings; injury, mentions of death Pt. 1; Pt. 3 I'd like to quickly explain why the Metkayina kids call Lo'ak and Kiri "four-fingered" freaks instead of "five-fingered" freaks, because I was confused about it for a while. The gist of it is that the Na'vi don't consider the thumb a finger, so techincally the pure Na'vi have three fingers and a thumb, and those with human blood have four fingers and a thumb :) (maybe I'm just stupid but yeah in case anyone shared the same confusion) Personally, I think this chapter is better quality. Eventually, I'll go back and heavily revise chapter one :) If you have any contstructive criticism PLEASE dm me, I'd love love love to hear from others on how I can improve my writing. It's always been a silly little dream of mine to publish my own novel, and I'll accept any help I can get.
Tumblr media
The sea clans are a world unto themselves.
The salty, warm air tickles her nose as she breathes deeply. The sea and the magnificent creatures it houses are truly beautiful. Her father had once explained the concept of a vacation to the girl, a getaway to escape life for a short amount of time. For the time being, the girl has decided to push aside the grief of leaving behind her home, and she'll simply view their absence as a vacation.
Thousands of islands. An known territory into which we could just vanish without a trace.
“Are we there yet?” Tuk breaks the silence, her voice laced with sleep.
Y/n's lips curve upwards, “Look.” She points to the approaching island, thick with foliage and beaches around the edges. Tuk’s face lights up, and upon passing the reef, the water below lightens significantly. The Metkayina people holler and whoop at the sight of newcomers, both out of fear and wonder. The differences between these people and the ones in air are stark and noticeable. A Na'vi blows air through a large conch shell, which emits a horn sound to alert the village of the family approaching.
The beauty of the village and its intricately woven maruis entrance Y/n, and she gazes at it in wonder.  Her father yips, and the Sully family finally lands on a patch of sand. The ikrans squawk loudly, their wings finally finding rest. the family dismounts, and the foreign feeling of sand beneath Y/n's toes makes her smile. Her leg has healed enough to no longer need crutches, much to her father's dismay, she's able to limp forward without any assistance.
“Hey, leave it.” Her father gently instructs his mate. “On me.” She glares at Jake for a second, before reluctantly leaving her father's bow on her ikran.
“Who are they?” Tuk asks her mother softly.
Neytiri's eyes scan the crowd with a scrutinizing gaze, “Be nice.” She responds.
As a sign of peace, Jake holds his hands up in an attempt to prove he means no harm. He's the head of the family, and Y/n stands next in front of Kiri and her brothers, almost in a protective way. The crowd parts, and a large boy walks through, his held high. A smaller boy with kind eyes follows him dutifully. The first boy intrigues Y/n, and she keeps eyes on him. Her brothers quietly sign ‘I See You’ to the two, but neither reciprocate.
“Easy, just be cool.” Jake leads his family. The tall boy stalks behind Y/n and her siblings, and studies their tails with a weird look.
“What is that?” The smaller boy asks, pointing at Neteyam’s tail.
“Is that supposed to be a tail?” This time it was the taller boy that spoke. The crowd murmurs, a few laughing, and Y/n hisses softly at him, which earned her a stern look from her father. She sighs and instead looks at the sand. A beautiful girl emerges girl emerges from the sea, and Y/n can hear Lo'ak’s breath catch. She exchanges a knowing look with Neteyam, a small grin on their faces.
“It’s too small. How are they supposed to swim?” The small one questions.
The girl slaps the boy's hand, “Enough, Rotxo, Ao’nung.” She scolds quietly and turns to the foreign family with a gentle face.
“Hey.” Lo’ak says smoothly, and Y/n glances at him weirdly as the girl laughs shyly. Y/n’s attention shifts to yelping, and a man mounted on a large flying fish lands in the water. He dismounts gracefully, and his status as Olo’eyktan is apparent by his dressings.
Tonowari was the chief of the Metkayina, the Reef People.
“Olo’eyktan. I See you, Tonowari.” Jake touches his hand to his forehead and extends it to the man.
Tonowari does the same, “Jakesully.” His voice is rough, but has a kind undertone to it.
I knew he was a tough leader. But it wasn’t Tonowari I was worried about.
An intimidating woman, makes her way through the crowd, staring at the family with caution in her large eyes. Y/n knows she is Ronal, the Tsahik of the Metkayina.
“I See you, Ronal. Tsahik of the Metkayina.” Her mother and father extend the same greeting.
“Why do you come to us, Jakesully?” Tonowari asks, glancing at the faces in his group.
“We seek uturu.”
“Uturu?”  Ronal asks incredulously.
Jake nods, “Yes, a sanctuary for my family.” Ronal steps forward as Tonowari speaks.
“We are Reef People. You are Forest People. Your skills will mean nothing here.” Y/n bows her head as Ronal passes her. She silently greets her with her fingers to her forehead. Ronal narrows her eyes at her leg, but moves past her without a word.
“But we will learn your ways. Am I right?” He asks his mate, who gives a curt nod.
“Yes.” Ronal grabs Neytiri’s tail, inspecting it. She drops it and takes Tuk’s arm.
“Their arms are thin. Their tails are weak.” Kiri yelps as Ronal takes hold of her tail. “You will be slow in the water.” She grabs Kiri’s wrist, and looks at her hands. Y/n has to refrain from showing any irritation. “These children are not even true Na’vi!”
The crowd gasps as Kiri tugs her hands away, “Yes, we are!”
Ronal moves to Lo’ak’s hand instead, “They have demon blood!” The crowd exclaims, and a few people take defensive stances, growling and hissing at the group as Lo’ak stares at the sand.
“Look.” Jake holds his hand up to show five fingers. “Look. Look, I was born of the Sky People and now I am Na’vi. All right? You can adapt. We will adapt.”
“My husband was Toruk Makto.” Neytiri adds, her eyes narrowed at Ronal. She steps forward. “He led the clans to victory against the Sky People.”
“This you call victory? Hiding among strangers?” She glances at Jake. “It seems Eywa has turned her back on you, Chosen One.” Neytiri snarles and hisses at Ronal angrily, and the pregnant woman returns the favor, her eyes widened.
Jake steps between the two slightly, “I apologize for my mate. She’s…”
“Do not dare apologize for me-”
“Flown a long way and she’s exhausted.”
“Jake.”
Tonowari jumps in, “Toruk Makto is a great war leader. All Na’vi people know his story. But we Metkayina people are not at war. We cannot let you bring your war here.” Jake carefully picks Tuk up upon her request.
“I’m done with war. Okay? I just want to keep my family safe.” Tonowari and Ronal share a look.
“Uturu has been asked.” Neytiri finalizes, and Y/n holds her breath. The leaders of the Metkayina people share a silent conversation with their eyes.
Tonowari takes a deep breath before turning to face his people, “Toruk Makto and his family will stay with us. Treat them as our brothers and sisters. They do not know the sea, so they will be like babies. Taking their first breath. Teach them our ways so they do not suffer the shame of being useless.
Jake nods, looking down at Tuk, “Okay, what do we say?”
“Thank you.” Tuk smiles widely at Tonowari. The rest of the family thank the Olo'eyktan and Tsahik as well. Y/n can feel eyes on her, but she ignores it, assuming it's the judgemental eyes of the crowd.
“My son, Ao’nung, and our daughter, Tsireya, will show your children what to do.”
The boy steps forward defiantly, “Father, why do-”
“It is decided.”
The girl, Tsireya, steps forward with an easy smile, “Come, I will show you our village.”
Y/n smiles softly at Tuk as the small girl giggles at all the new things. She takes a special liking to a creature the Metkayina ride. Kiri urges her forward, and she bounces to her side. Tsireya leads the family into a large marui, and Y/n looks around the beautifully crafted homes.
“This is for you.” Tsireya says softly. “You’re new home.”
Jake smiles, “Yeah, this will work.” He takes a few steps inside, looking around. “This is great. It’s nice, right?” He asks his wife, who simply drops her mat distastefully.
A few hours later, Y/n is sitting at the edge of their morai, her dangling feet just barely touching the water as she watches some clan members fish. Her brothers pass by her, but Neteyam lingers by her side, wanting to join his twin.
“Sully’s, fall in.” Their father commands.
Neteyam sighs and offers his hand, “Come on, sis.”
She tears her eyes away from the Fishman, and nods simply, allowing him to help her. The two go inside the morai and kneel down with their family.
“Come on. Take a knee. Let’s go.” Jake urges, looking around at his family.
“Kiri!” Neytiri quietly scolds, shooting the girl a pointed look.
“What?” Kiri mutters as she reluctantly kneels.
“Okay. I need you kids on your best behavior. I mean it. Learn fast. Pull your weight.” He looks directly at Lo’ak. “Don’t cause trouble, all right?”
Lo’ak nods, “Yes, sir.”
“I want to go home.” Tuk cries, shoulders slumped in defeat. She wipes her eyes with a small sob.
“Oh, Tuk.” Neytiri coos softly, her face scrunching with the pain of seeing her youngest child cry.
“Tuk, this is our home now. Now, we’re gonna get through this. We’re gonna get through this if we have each other’s backs. All right?”
“What does your father always say?” Neytiri asks her children.
“Sully's stick together.” The eldest three mumble together.
“Yeah, that’s right. Sully's stick together.” He pats Kiri's knee gently. “Now this time with some feeling.”
“Sully’s stick together.” They all repeat, louder and more proudly.
Tsireya, Ao’nung, and Rotxo dive gracefully into the water as the Sully kids watch. Y/n steps forward, looking at the water curiously.
“Come on.” Neteyam nudges Y/n as him and Lo’ak run past her. A laugh escapes her lips as she runs after them, pushing through the dull ache in her leg as she jumps. The water feels nice around her skin, cooling it down significantly. Kiri and Tuk jump in after the three, and together the five of them awe at the completely different world that hides beneath the surface.
Y/n smiles at the fish swimming around, and she carefully swims forward, going in the direction of the other three. She’s rather slow in the water, but she doesn’t mind. It gives her time to marvel at the creatures swimming around her head. They slowly follow their guides, but eventually the Sully kids have to swim up for air. Their heads pop out of the water and they gasp to fill their lungs.
Y/n laughs softly. “It’s beautiful down there.” She says with a grin, and Lo’ak raises a brow. “You saying that about the fish or fish lips?” He teases and Y/n rolls her eyes, splashing him with water.
“You’re a hypocrite, you know?”
“Both of you are very annoying.” Neteyam sighs. The group stick their heads back into the water, and Tsireya uses her hands to speak to them, but they just stare blankly. She smiles in amusement and instead decides to motion them along. The siblings take another deep breath and swim after them. It doesn’t take long for the kids to need air again and the Metkayina kids swim up to the surface after them.
“Are you all right?” Tsireya asks kindly, her face showing worry.
“You’re too fast!” Tuk whines. “Wait for us!”
“Just breathe.” Tsireya instructs calmly as her brother pops his head out of the water, a look of disdain on his features.
“You are not good divers.” He says matter of factly, and Y/n rolls her eyes. “Maybe good at swinging through trees, but…” Rotxo laughs as Tsireya hits his head.
“Come on, bro. We don’t speak this finger talk.” Neteyam complains, irritated at Ao'nung's comments.
“Yeah, we don’t know what you’re saying.” Lo’ak agrees with a subtle nod, looking at Tsireya.
“I will teach you.” She promises gently.
“Where is Kiri?” Rotxo asks, looking around.
“Who?” Ao’nung asks.
“Kiri. Where is Kiri?”
“She’s alright.” Y/n finally speaks and Ao’nung looks at her. “She swam off at the beginning. Let her be.”
Y/n watches curiously as Ao’nung calls to the creatures, clicking and whooping. He’s rude, for sure, and finds joy in making fun of her siblings. But a small part of her can’t deny the fact that he is beautiful.
“These are ilu.” He informs the children. “If you want to live here, you have to ride.”
“Hi,” Y/n smiles softly at an ilu and gently pets the top of it’s head.
“Your leg.” A voice startles her, and she turns to see Ao’nung. “What happened to it?”
She responds cautiously, “It was hurt.”
He deadpans, “Obviously. But how?”
“A gun.”
“A what?”
She sighs softly, “Like a bow and arrow, just worse. Far worse.”
He nods, stepping towards the ilu. He gently pets its neck, “Will you be able to ride an ilu?”
Y/n looks at the creature with a small smile, “I rode all the way here on my ikran. It’s not much different in that sense.”
He hums, “All right.” He glances behind him, at Tsireya and Lo’ak. Lo’ak is taking off on his ilu, holding on tightly. The two watch as Lo’ak is flown off of his ilu, and Ao’nung bursts into laughter. Y/n can’t help but laugh as well.
“Breathe in, skxawng.” Ao’nung instructs, gently hitting Y/n’s stomach.
She glares at him, her abs tensing, “I am breathing in, dipshit.”
“Calm your heartbeat.” He answers, his hand gently resting on her chest. It's soft and cool. “It’s too fast.”
Y/n takes a slow, deep breath, shutting her eyes, “I can’t help it.”
“Are you scared of me?” He grins.
She scoffs, peaking an eye open, “You don’t scare me.”
“Then why is your heart beating so fast?” If he had eyebrows, he’d be raising them at that moment.
She huffs and shrugs, “Because you’re kind of cute.” She stands, stalking over to the rest of the group. She takes a seat next to Kiri, glancing at Lo’ak and Tsireya with a small grin.
“Try to focus.” She encourages.
Lo’ak nods, “Okay.”
“Breathe in…” Neteyam and Rotxo grin at each other, snickering quietly.
Throughout the next few weeks, the Sully family quickly learn the way of the water, and how to adapt to their new surroundings. With the need of breathing every minute gone, the Sully kids are able to race on their ilu. It reminded them of home, racing on their ikrans. Their interactions with the sea have become deeper and resonate more. They sign the language with slight difficulty, but it’s understandable.
Y/n’s love for the ocean has grown, and her disdain for the future Olo’eyktan follows suit. He bullies her siblings whenever he’s around, and despite his face, and his body, and his voice- he’s a terrible person. His mere presence makes her shiver in annoyance. His sister, however, is becoming one of her favorite people. She’s kind and welcoming, allowing Y/n’s family to make mistakes and then fix them. Y/n doesn’t think she has a single bad bone in her body. The current Olo’eyktan, Tonowari, has taught Y/n how to fish. She wasn’t very good, but she was getting better as time went on. Tonowari and Tsireya are very alike, in Y/n’s opinion, like father like daughter. And finally, Ronal. It took a few days for the woman to even look her family's way, but one evening, while Y/n was searching for small shells to add to her father’s necklace, the woman showed her where to find the perfect ones. She’ll forever be grateful for it.
The waves crash softly against the shore as Y/n leans against a palm tree, doing the finishing touches on her father’s necklace. Kiri lay face down in the shallow water ahead of her, simply gazing at the sand and the small creatures within it. Y/n doesn’t notice the posse of boys walking up to her sister until she hears that voice.
“What is she doing?” Ao’nung sneers, and the boys laugh. Y/n looks up from her project, and frowns deeply. “She’s looking at sand.”
“Huh? What’d you say?” Kiri asks, lifting her head out of the water. Y/n stands, dusting the sand off her legs.
“Are you some kind of… freak?” Ao’nung asks bitterly, and Kiri sighs, averting her eyes and walking past him.
“No.”
“Are you sure? I mean, you’re not even real Na’vi. Look at these hands.” He takes her hand, and she rips it away. He grabs onto it again. “I mean, look at them!”
“Hey!” Lo’ak calls, walking over. “Back off, fishlips.”
“Oh, another four-fingered freak.”
“Oh, baby tail!” Another boy teases, grabbing onto Lo’ak’s tail.
“Leave us alone!” Kiri tries, but to no avail.
Y/n finally rushes over, pushing Ao’nung to the side. She points her finger at him. “You heard what she said. Leave them alone.”
“Awww, big sister com-” A boy tries, but Ao’nung pushes him back, silencing him.
“Back off.” Y/n pushes him back with her finger. “Now.” There’s a tense moment of silence, before Ao’nung lifts his hands in surrender. “Smart choice. And from now on, I need you to respect my sister.” A boy hisses, but once again Ao’nung stops him. She turns to her siblings. “Let’s go.”
The three begin to walk off as Ao’nung speaks up again, “Bah bye!” He teases, before loudly “whispering” to his friends. “Look at them, they’re all freaks. The whole family.” Lo’ak sighs deeply, before turning around.
“Lo’ak.” Y/n warns.
He holds his hand up, “I got this sis.” He walks up to Ao’nung, displaying his hand. “I know this hand is funny. Look, I’m a freak. An alien.” Ao’nung smirks. “But it can do something really cool. Watch. First, I ball it up real tight, like this. Okay? Then-” He cuts himself off by delivering a hard punch to Ao’nung’s cheek, followed by two more, until the taller boy falls onto the sand. “It’s called a punch, bitch. Don’t ever touch my sister again.”
Y/n sighs as the boys hiss at Lo’ak. Ao’nung pounces on him, and Lo’ak lands another punch before being pulled off by his tail. Y/n scrunches her face as a boy hits Lo’ak with his tail. The boys continue to wrestle, and eventually end up just pulling each other’s tails and ears. Kiri and Y/n laugh quietly to themselves as they yelp and moan.
“What was the one thing I asked? The one thing!” Jake scolds, Lo’ak stares at the ground in shame, and Y/n sighs.
“Stay out of trouble.” Lo’ak repeats quietly.
“Stay out of trouble- right!” “Look, it was my fault.” Y/n tries to intervene. She understands how difficult her father is on Lo’ak, and she’ll do anything she can to help ease the anger on the boy.
“I don’t think so. You gotta stop takin’ the heat for this knucklehead. I’ll speak to you later.”
“Look, dad, Ao’nung was picking on Kiri. He called her a freak.”
Jake sighs, “Go apologize to Ao’nung.”
“What?”
“He’s the chief's son, do you understand? I don’t care how you do it. Just go make peace. Just go.” Lo’ak leaves the tent, shaking his head. Jake looks back at Y/n. “You should’ve stopped him.”
Y/n sighs, “I didn’t know he was going to punch Ao’nung.”
“Have you met your brother?” Jake runs a hand over his face. “You’re the eldest. It’s your job to take care of your siblings. You need to start acting like it.”
“Dad- I can’t control them. They don’t listen to me-”
“Then try harder. This is a family, we all have roles. You need to start fulfilling yours.”
Y/n shakes her head, “Yeah, fine.” She walks past her father to leave.
“Y/n?” She turns to look at her father in question. “What’d the other guys look like?”
“Worse.”
Jake nods, “Good. You’re dismissed.”
She nods, leaving silently.
Y/n sits quietly with Neteyam, they quietly share memories from the forest and their clan. Y/n knew how much her brother missed their home. A presence interrupts them, and Y/n glares.
“What do you want, Ao’nung?” She stands, crossing her arms.
He looks down, not able to make eye contact. “It’s Lo’ak.”
“What did he do?” Neteyam asks.
“We led him out to hunt… beyond the reef. And we left him. It was supposed to be a joke- but he hasn’t come back.”
Y/n takes a moment to take in what he just confessed, before anger crosses her face. “Are you fucking serious? What is wrong with you?”
“I’m… sorry.” He whispers.
Neteyam gently pushes past Y/n and roughly grabs onto Ao’nung’s arm, dragging him towards their father and Kiri. Jake looks back questioningly, his brow raised.
“What is it?”
Neteyam glares at Ao’nung, “Go on. Tell him what you just told us.”
Y/n stands next to Tsireya as a villager brings Lo’ak onto a small dock. The moment Lo’ak sees Ao’nung, he’s ready to pounce on him, but Jake intervenes quickly, stepping in front of his son.
“Hey, hey. Let’s have a look at you, okay?” He quickly looks over Lo’ak. “He’s fine. He’s fine. Just a few scratches.”
“Lo’ak.” Neytiri gasps softly, jumping down onto the dock. Once she realizes he is not injured, she sneers. “I pray for the strength that I will not pluck the eyeballs out of my youngest son!” She snarls, hissing.
“No.” Tonowari announces. “My son knows better than to take him outside the reef.” He forces Ao’nung to kneel. “The blame is his.”
“Okay, let’s go.” Jake says, motioning for his son to follow.
“No.” Lo’ak speaks up, and Y/n looks at him weirdly. “This is not Ao’nung’s fault. This was my idea. Ao’nung tried to talk me out of it. Really. I’m sorry.”
“Come on.” Jake urges and Y/n joins the group.
As they walk away, Lo’ak tries to defend himself. “Dad, you told me to make friends with these kids. I was only trying to-”
“I don’t want to hear it.”
“Dad-”
“You brought shame to this family.”
“Dad.” Y/n intervenes, but her dad just gives her a warning look.
Lo’ak looks defeated, “Can I go now?”
“You cause more trouble, I jerk a knot in your tail.” Jake threatens, and the boy nods. “You read me?”
“Yes, sir. Lima Charlie.”
Jake studies him for a moment, “Go on.”
Neytiri looks at Y/n and Neteyam, “Where were you?”
Jake glances at them, “Yeah, what happened to “keeping an eye on your brother”?” He looks at Y/n. “Taking care of your siblings, pulling your weight. Sound familiar?”
“Sorry, sir.” Neteyam responds, but Y/n scoffs softly.
“Seriously? I was too busy being scolded for not parenting my siblings to stop him.” Y/n regrets the words the second they leave her mouth.
“What did you say, girl?” Jake bears his teeth, angrily looking at her.
“Doesn’t matter.” She turns to walk away.
“Don’t you walk away from me. I am tired of your disrespect, Y/n.” Jake grabs her shoulder, turning her back to face him. “Everyday it’s something new with you. You are the oldest, you need to star-”
“Start acting like it, yeah, I know.” She scoffs, her eyes filling with frustrated tears. She’s not good at confrontation. “I’m the eldest sibling- but I’m not even your daughter! And you aren’t my father.” Jake’s eyes flash with hurt, and he bites his tongue. “I’m tired of you suffocating me.” Her eyes glisten in the dim lighting.. “I only try to be perfect for you, but what’s even the point? All I do is disappoint you.”
“Y/n…” Neytiri tries, but Y/n shakes her head.
“Sometimes I wish it was you that was dead, instead of my real father.” She knows she didn't mean that. But she turns and walks off like she did anyway. She said what she knew would hurt him, because she wanted him to see the way he hurts her.
She wipes her eyes as she leaves, her throat closing up as she tries to hold in her sobs. The closer she gets to breaking, the faster she moves away from her family, her father. It’s only when she makes it to a secluded spot on the beach does she finally allow herself to quietly cry. She buries her head in her knees, shaking as the gentle waves kissed her feet.
She doesn’t hear the quiet footsteps behind her, hesitating to comfort her. Ao’nung decides to sit next to her either way, looking out over the horizon. He puts his hand on her knee, and she looks up at him, immediately wiping her eyes.
“What do you want?” She asks quietly, her voice cracking quietly. She doesn’t have the energy to hate him.
He swallows thickly, thinking carefully on what to say. “I know I’m probably the last person you want to speak to but… I’m here.” He murmurs softly, his eyes soft. “You can talk to me, or not, but… I am here.”
Y/n stares at him for a moment, dumbfounded, before nodding. “Thank you.” She whispers, allowing herself tonight to accept his comfort. She’ll go back to hating him tomorrow. Or so she hopes.

the warrior and his healer — neteyam x reader ☄. *. ⋆➢ part one!
other chapters are up! read it here -> chapter 2, chapter 3, chapter 4
setting: awa'atlu, pandora
pairing: neteyam x fem!metkayina!reader
warnings: nothing much in this part, but if we are talking about the entire series, mentions of bl00d, a bit of angst, teyam survives!
summary: the newcomer seems to enjoy your company! he seems to like what you do, too. let's hope nothing bad happens to your study buddy.
a/n: I actually requested this to @bonnibuckets, and they did great at writing it! but I wanted to try and write it myself. pls enjoy ^^ by the way, I'm replacing y/n with _____ because I personally find y/n weird to read. and yes, it is like loaksky's style, but I don't think it should be a problem. :)) a lot of the medicinal stuff in here is made up since little about healing is known in avatar.
Tumblr media
"ah! here she is." tsireya smiled as she skipped into your marui, dragging the eldest sully boy from behind her.
you looked up from your papers, meeting eyes with them both. figuring she brought him to you to fix up some injuries, you placed your studying materials aside.
you hadn't acquainted yourself with any for the sully kids, but you have watched them train with tsireya, ao'nung and rotxo.
from your observations, you thought that the younger sully boy, lo'ak, was the first one who tsireya would bring into your marui for any injuries that had to be healed. it didn't cross your mind that the eldest would be hurt before him.
you weren't an official healer, to be exact. but you are training to be one. ronal, the tsahìk, had announced that due to the lack of healers in the village, she will be choosing a few more girls to help out the elders. but to be qualified to do so, they must have enough knowledge about medicine and healing.
tsireya dubbed you to be the best among the other girls, as to probably why she brought neteyam to you.
tsireya's beaming smile stayed on as she sat neteyam down in front of you. "here, he scuffed himself by the corals. would you mind patching him up, ______?"
you glanced at his bleeding forearm and back to her. "no, I don't mind." you gave her a small smile, which she enthusiastically returned before she ran off.
you then got up and went to your shelves. "i'd thought that your brother would come running in bleeding first," you stated as you grabbed the covered bowl of healing salve.
neteyam laughed. "well, he did get hurt. but it seems tsireya has taken him for herself to tend to."
you smiled, and though you were facing away from him, he could see it. "she has talked a lot about him the past few days. i've heard more about him than the firstborn son of toruk makto."
you set all the things you needed onto the floor. you sat where you previously were, preparing to tend to the cuts on the arm.
he felt his face warm when you said it. "you don't have to call me that," he could barely look into your eyes, something you found odd. you'd expected him to be a little more confident than his brother. seems the roles have switched.
"why not? i suspect people call you that all the time back in the forest." you dipped the cloth into the bowl of water, and started dabbing around the wound to clean it.
the boy before you winced. "ah— well, yeah. i guess it feels weird to have somebody new saying it to me." he replied, clearing his throat after.
you nodded. you also took notice of the abnormal rasp in his voice, possibly because of all the breath-holding and accidental swallowing of the ocean water.
after you finished cleaning the wound, you took a small amount of the healing salve. "this is going to feel a little cold," you warned, applying it onto the cuts. it only soothed the pain more. neteyam felt instant relief as you gently rubbed it into his azure skin, the sting immediately going away.
as you were busy tending to the injury, he sat still. but his eyes roamed and observed.
he watched your brows furrow in focus, your clean hand going up to your hair to tuck it behind your ear every now and then. he looked at the plants and scriptures you were studying, there was a pile of it by your right.
you reminded him of himself. hard-working and busy.
"what's all that?" he asked, pointing towards the pile of things. your head snapped up to him first, then to where he pointed. "oh that, it's uh— stuff that i need to know to become a healer. tsireya thinks im good at it — probably why she brought you to me."
neteyam glanced from your face, and down to your hands. you were done with the paste — you took a long strip of soft dried seaweed, wrapped it around the wound and secured it in place by expertly tucking the ends in.
"all done. better?" you released his arm, letting him have a look at your handiwork. "much better. tsireya may be right." you smiled at his indirect compliment, as to which he did back.
"maybe i should go now?" neteyam suggested. you were about to let him, but his voice reminded you about that medicine you needed to try out.
"oh! before you go, try this medicine that i made. it'll help with your hoarse voice."
you reached from behind him, revealing a large, curved flower petal that contained a golden-amber like liquid. "it matches his eyes." you thought as you handed it to him. he drank it.
it was surprisingly sweet, it tasted like what humans would call honey, and it alleviated the discomfort in his throat. "how is it? does your throat feel any better?"
he stared at the ground for a few seconds. how on pandora did you manage to come up with such a thing? it worked like a charm.
he nodded vigorously. "it's amazing. now tsireya was definitely right."
you laughed along with him, glad that the mixture you made helped.
you may have just made yourself a new friend.
— ☄. . ⋆✧ .
neteyam can feel kiri's eyes piercing through the side of his face. sighing, he turned to her. "kiri, did i do something wrong?"
she shrugged and looked to his wrapped wound. "you seem oddly happy."
he shook his head at her answer, lying down onto the marui floor. "hm. i wonder why."
and he knows exactly why.
it was calming being in your presence. tranquility was a stranger to him. with all the pressure and expectations, neteyam has not known a day of peace. no one he knew before gave him peace. except now that he's met you. that's fun.
kiri wasn't stupid though. copying him, she sighed. "I wasn't born last night neteyam. what's her name?"
he froze. he remembers tsireya mentioning your name when she dropped him off at your marui, but he forgot it. somehow.
"oh damn. I'm not sure. she's that girl that tsireya always hangs out with. we've seen them together a couple times—"
she cuts him off. "_____? the healer in training?" neteyam nodded against the marui floor, slightly scratching his head in the process. "yep. her."
kiri turns her head upwards, as if remembering how your face looked like. "hm. she's pretty. would be surprised if she liked you back though."
"oh cut it out, kiri." neteyam swatted at her arm. "I don't like her."
she rolled her eyes in response. "yeah well, not yet."
"who are we talking about?" both kiri and neteyam get hit by a blast of cold wind when lo'ak opened the marui entrance. "ah! there you are. had fun on your date with tsireya?" kiri teased, barely dodging whatever it was that lo'ak had thrown her way.
"shut up! it wasn't a date." neteyam couldn't see much while lying down, but he saw enough to catch a glimpse of his brother's blushing face. he chuckled to himself at his siblings continue to bicker.
and as eclipse settled in, he slowly fell asleep then, his last thought being about you.

Hi! So I had a request for Avatar the way of water where the reader is a huge daddy’s girl and is also like Jake’s favorite because she rarely gets into trouble but when she does Jake gets super angry and disappointed in her but she stands her ground and when it gets to much she just storms away and since then they bump heads constantly and aren’t the same anymore. Could you write how they are forced to make up by the family brcause they just can’t handle the tension anymore? I would be very happy if you use my idea. Stay healthy and don’t overwork yourself!
Sullys Stick Together
[F!Reader, but could be read as gender neutral I don't actually give you any pronouns or code you any way.]
[Warnings: Like, none?]
Spoilers for The Way of Water in here!!
[AN: My apologies this took like a month for me to do,,, I honestly take my time with things these days. Anyways, here's this for you! Just headcanons because my energy is going towards uni.]
Reblogs are appreciated!
Everyone in the family is tired of the passive aggressiveness you and your father are showing towards each other at this point. It's ridiculous how you two just actively refuse to talk about it or even attempt to make up.
Look, it was one mistake. ONE. Your father had already expected Lo'ak to screw around, but you? His golden child? The one who exceeds his expectations? The one who has done nothing but good the entire odd 15 or so years you've been alive? How could you mess around that badly? Making him look like a fool in front of Ronal and Tonowari... He asked you to pull your weight, not throw yourself head first into dangerous situations and actively disobey orders.
And to make it worse, you argued with him! Your anger to defend your brother Lo'ak and yourself had boiled over. It wasn't entirely your fault that you were beyond the reef. Ao'nung and Rotxo were truly the ones to blame! They played a cruel trick on you and your brother and you almost lost your lives in the process! And to make matters worse, Lo'ak took the blame. You wanted to tell Tonowari what had really happened and Lo'ak stopped you!
You tried to really explain this to your father. His anger shouldn't be directed towards Lo'ak or you. Your father didn't care and said that you weren't playing by Omaticaya standards, this was now Metkayina territory, and you all had to play and live by their rules.
What a load of bullshit. Verbatim, that's all you could say. Tail flicking downwards in annoyance, ears pressed flat against your skull - hell you even hissed at your father baring sharp canines to to further your ire at him - you couldn't understand why he was just rolling over and letting the Metkayina lord over him.
How they treated your sister, Kiri, how they almost got Lo'ak and yourself killed, the whispers of how inept you and your family were.... Fitting in here wasn't easy.
That was a rough night. Your father was more than upset with you and the space all of you lived in became awkward, cold and hostile. Your mother spent more than enough time hashing things out with your father but truly only the two of you could make this right.
"Your child has a strong heart," she said. "They take strongly after you. You know this." Your mother's voice was soothing and hushed as she spoke to your father. "Please, all they want to do is prove their point. It was not done in a good way, but they love you and cannot tell why you act and treat them, and their siblings otherwise."
Anyways there's no actual forcing here. While everyone is very tired of you two bumping heads, no one actually forces the two of you to make up. Neteyam might approach your father and try to sway his opinions, Tuk will often do something similar, no one can make things right between the two of you but you. Kiri doesn't really want to do anything either of you are uncomfortable with, as she respects you as her sibling, and Jake as her father but man she doesn't like the awkward energy either. I think she's just much more "teenage angst and sass" in her approaches to BOTH of you.
Neytiri is a bit more direct in her approach, often saying "your child misses you" or something to that effect. She's also a bit more blunt in believing Jake is the adult and he should make the first step to mending the relationship. However, Neytiri kinda gets behind your reasoning. She doesn't like being Metkayina either. She misses the forest. Misses being Omaticaya, and a tsahik in her own right.
Lo'ak argues with his father too. He's got your back through and through and hates that Jake is being such a hard ass on you.
Eventually, things just kinda come to an emotional head and you and your father talk it out. And it's done in that dad way of not actually addressing what had happened but rather understanding all you can do is move forward from the incident and make vague allusions to it later on.
It kinda works - Neytiri gets to stop nagging Jake to speak with you and your siblings can go back to not having to whisper about you.
Jake loves you. Of course he does. You're his child, he will always be your father, that is non negotiable.
But damn, you take after him just a bit too much.

Best of both worlds (4)
Neteyam x Tayrangi!Metkayina!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: The Sullys still have much to learn and notice, that not every new experience is a pleasend one. About teaching, new people and good food.
Words: 5124
Warnings: I think none
Note: finally. I have an idea what the issue was but jesus it took me a minute to figure this out. I feel like I write way to much about food but dinner time seems like the most social time of the day within the clan.

Previous part
You were walking on the beach, rather bored. Your mom insisted that you should not do much for the next two days. Every activity that went beyond walking was not approved. The ointment made you very tired— so much so that you slept until long after breakfast was done. Your family had already left. Your dad and your brother were training while your mother gathered supplies for another ointment she wanted to make for your wound. Tsireya was most likely spending time with the Sullys or helping your mother. You took the wrapped breakfast your mother left for you and went towards the sandy beach, greeting fellow Metkayina along the way. The thought of visiting your ikran came across your mind, but was quickly dismissed when you considered the distance between the village and the clearing, knowing your mother wouldn't approve of it.
You sat down in the shadow of a small tree, listening to the waves as you ate your breakfast. You picked up footsteps coming closer and looked up. Rotxo was heading your way, waving slightly. You waved back at him. "Hey, my father told me what happened. How are you doing?" He settled down next to you. "Hi, I'm alright, but my mom insists that I take it slow. So I don't have much to do now. Thanks for asking. What about you? How are you doing?" Rotxo was was always a little closer to your brother, but you got along well too. "I'm alright, thanks. So how was it? Riding a tsurak?" He looked at you with great interest. "Different. They are so much faster than the ilus! And above the water they are like...a lot like ikrans, actually. In the air, it's much easier than in the water. In the water, you get pushed off if your grip isn't tight enough or if you don't lean into the tsurak close enough. But it's the transition between water and air that I have trouble with." Rotxo looked at you amazed. "Wow. Yea, my brother mentioned that swimming with them is pretty tough because of their speed. But I don't think you have to worry about it. You know, my dad said you did very well, all things considered. My brother said his biggest struggle was learning to fly with them. But I guess that comes from your experience with your ikran. Anyway, you can be proud. I mean, usually nobody our age learns to ride a tsurak. It will be another year before any of us get to join you." You smiled at him, thankful for his encouragement.
Tsireya was with the Sullys, looking for a calm space to do some more breathing exercises, as she spotted you and Rotxo talking in the distance. She decided that you would probably like some company and remembered that Tuk still wanted to give you something. So she leads the group in your direction. "Look guys, there is Y/n!" Tuk pointed out to the group. They had all already spotted you when Tsireya suddenly changed the course. Neteyam's brows furrowed seeing you and the boy next to you smiling at each other during your conversation. The image didn't sit right with him.
"Y/n!" Tuk shouted, running in your direction. This interrupted your conversation as both of you looked up towards Tuk and the approaching group. You used your not-injured arm to wave at them. "Y/n, how are you? Do you feel better? I have something for you that will make you feel better!" Tuk finally came to a halt next to you, plopping down on the sand, panting slightly. "Hello Tuk, I am alright. Yes, I do feel much better, thank you." The rest of the group arrived at your spot, sitting down as well. Tuk opened the small bag that she kept at her hip, taking something out, before handing it to you. "I made this for you! I wanted to make you a gift since you gave me your pretty bracelet. It has some shells from here, but I also put some wooden pearls in it from our home." Looking at it, you saw a handcrafted trinket with various shells worked into it along with a few wooden beads. "Thank you Tuk, that is very sweet of you. It is very pretty." Tuk smiled brightly as she watched you fasten the accessory on your loincloth. "Are you angry with your tsurak? Dad said it is difficult, but you didn't want to give up, no matter how often you got thrown off." You chuckled at her never-ending curiosity. "No Tuk, I'm not angry. I just have to practice more. Hopefully, I won't fall off that often then." Tsireya looked at you skeptically. "You mean after our mother clears you for training again in a few weeks when you have fully recovered?" Rolling your eyes at your sister, you say in an annoyed tone, "Yes Tsireya, don't worry". Your conversation kept going and at some point, Rotxo said his goodbyes, as he wanted to meet up with his brother. "So what are you going to do now?" Neteyam sat next to you, drawing in the sand and glancing at you occasionally. "Nothing much for the next two days. Everything more than walking is apparently too much and for the rest of the week, I guess I will go with my mom and help her with her work here and there. What about you guys?" Neteyam smiled as he looked at the beach. "Our mom said she would take me out hunting tomorrow evening. With the ikrans, you know. To practice my bow hunting. And uhm, your sister wants us to learn the sign language better. So yeah, I think that's about it." Tuk intervened: "No, Neteyam. The celebrations, you forgot about the celebrations!" At that Neteyam piped up: "Oh yes! What's happening anyway? Our dad just said that something is happening this evening." You were surprised that your sister didn't tell them yet. "A few of our warriors will do their last trials today. Tonight we will celebrate them becoming men."
By now Tsireya, Lo'ak, and Kiri walked slightly away from the three of you. Kiri checked if you and their siblings were out of earshot before nodding at her brother. "Hey Tsireya, why does your sister learn to tame a tsurak?" Lo'ak tried to approach the topic carefully. "Well, it is needed to become a warrior in our clan." Tsireya didn't understand the question or rather why Lo'ak asked that. Kiri piped in "Yes but isn't taming an ikran just as good?" Tsireya had an idea in what direction this was leading. "Our father said, that since she is here it would be more appropriate to learn to ride one of them as they are more helpful in the ocean than the ikrans." Lo'ak didn't want to wait any longer. "Ok, honestly we were wondering if she is supposed to learn to ride a tsurak so she could become Olo'eyktan. Our mom said it's rare that the clan leaders are siblings but not unheard of. So is she?" A look of panic crossed Tsireya's face, quickly looking at you she saw that you were still talking to Tuk and Neteyam. Relieved but also defeated Tsireya sighs. "Please don't talk so loud that's a very sensitive topic. The truth is that I don't know. Our father did not name the next Olo'eyktan yet. Ao'nung and Y/n fight a lot and their rivalry is often the reason behind that. I don't know why our father is waiting but I'm certain he has his reasons for it. The most experienced warriors in our clan are also divided on the topic, I think. Nobody would say anything, especially not to our father but I have heard some rumors. Some still think it is not appropriate to name her Olo'eyktan as she is a woman. Her not being fully Metkayina is also a problem for some people. They fear, that she might not want to fully commit to this clan if another is part of her heart. Others think her early travels are what make her the better warrior. And they say she is more skillful than Ao'nung. You see she rode an ilu before she turned three. Usually, we start training with them shortly after our fourth birthday. Our father loves telling the story. They took her and Ao'nung to the beach for some swimming lessons when the ilus got to them and Y/n, who was a little behind the other children, suddently passed them on an ilu. They don't know how she managed it but so far it is one of my father's favorite stories to tell." While their question didn't get answered in the way they were expecting, it certainly gave them more insight into what was going on in the clan. They slowly got back to the others to finally start their breathing exercises.
Neteyam playfully hit you with his tail while everybody had their eyes closed. You snapped your eyes open, looking at him. He grinned at you with one eye open, repeating the action. You scrunched your nose to get him to stop but your smile betrayed you. He hit you again. After looking around to make sure that the others weren't noticing it, you squinted your eyes and hit him back. You aimed higher, hitting him on the back of his head. His braids jiggled as his head fell forward slightly. He looked at you in shock with a smile on his lips. This had you giggling and you felt a slight blush covering your cheeks. At the noise, the others opened their eyes, looking at you confused. This made your blush more intense, this time in embarrassment. Neteyam was now chuckling. The others, excluding Tuk, understood now that you and Neteyam were just messing with each other. "Right...enough breathing exercises for now. How about we do some more sign language?" Tsireya suggested.
Tsireya said a word and made the associated movement at the same time. The Sullys copied her. It was all going well and you decided that they should try it alone. Now you only said the word and they did the movement. You and Tsireya corrected their movements when they did something wrong. "Forward," you said. As the Sullys made the sign, you saw that Neteyam had a small mistake and went to correct him. "You have to put your fingers together. Like this, it means 'way'" Not sure what you meant, Neteyam started curling his fingers into a fist. "No, I mean like so." You uncurl his fingers and press his thumb against his index finger. Now Neteyam kept messing up and you kept correcting him. After the fifth time, you looked at Neteyam with concern. His teasing grin gave him away immediately. You hit his arm. "Skxawng!" At that, Neteyam chuckled before forcing himself to put on a serious face. Kiri rolled her eyes at her brother's antics. When you noticed that Tuk was getting restless, you decided to end the lesson for the day, leaving all of you some time to get ready for the festivities in the evening.
You and Tsireya helped each other braid your hair. She had a headpiece with pearls tied into her hair. They looked like waterdrops shining brightly. You had multiple braids that were decorated with seashells. Both of you were wearing chest pieces covered in pearls. Arriving at the celebrations, you were quickly called over to a small group of younger warriors as Tsireya sat down with a few friends of hers.
The Sullys arrived at the community area shortly after. Kiri spotted Tsireya, who beckoned them over to come sit with her group. "Hey guys, these are Lorell and Nupxi. And these are Neteyam, Lo'ak, Kiri, and Tuk." Tsireya introduced everybody. They smiled and started a conversation, but Neteyam kept looking for you. "She is with the warriors over there." Tsireya addressed Neteyam, pointing discreetly to their left. He blushed at being caught but followed her finger regardless. The other girls were giggling at Neteyam's flustered state. He saw you talking to some men who were two or three years older than you. One of them was telling a story while the rest of you listened intently. He stood out as he had a large tattoo on his right arm, and a fresh-looking one at that. He must have been among the warriors who succeeded in their last trials today. The story seemed to reach its peak as you all laughed before getting back to smaller conversations. You looked over to your sister only to see Neteyam looking at you. You smiled at him and nodded your head in greeting. Neteyam averted his eyes and a small blush covered his cheeks.
"Hm, it seems like the forest boy has a little crush," Lorell said teasingly. Before Neteyam could deny it, Nupxi spoke up. "That wouldn't be too wise now, would it?" Before either of the Sullys could question it, Tsireya interrupted "Oh stop it, both of you! It is only gossip. Nothing but rumors!". The siblings looked confused between the girls. "What rumor?" Lo'ak wanted to be in on their secret. Lorell smiled at him. "You see, over there with the warriors next to Y/n is Fayem, the one with a healed tattoo on his left shoulder." They all looked over and saw you talking to him. "Fayem successfully passed the last trials two years ago. But he is yet to choose a mate or even court a woman." Lorell kept the tension up, but Nupxi decided to speed up the process. "Yes, and the rumor is that he didn't choose yet because he is waiting for a certain someone to pass hers." Neteyam did not like where this was going. He did not like it at all. "So that's why you, Neteyam of the forest people, should maybe not get your hopes up," Nupxi concluded. But Lorell intervened, "Don't listen to her! I am sure you have some good qualities. I mean, look at him! He is not Neteyam of the forest people. He is Neteyam, son of Toruk Makto, and...you are a good warrior, right? " Neteyam didn't know how to answer but Tuk did that for him. "The best! He was the youngest hunter ever to make a clean kill on a sturmbeest!" Lorell smiled proudly at that, looking at her friend with a satisfied smile. "You see, he is Neteyam, son of Toruk Makto, the best young warrior of the forest people!" Nupxi huffed while rolling her eyes. "Also, Y/n never even said that she was interested in Fayem. Or else Tonowari would have most likely already promised them to one another." Neteyam wanted to feel better knowing that you seemed to not care for this Fayem guy, but the thought of you being promised to anyone soured his mood. Tsireya rolled her eyes. "Don't listen to them. It is nothing more than a stupid rumor. Choosing a mate is a big decision and if it takes him longer to pursue someone, it only means that he wants to be very sure. As he SHOULD." Nupxi grinned at Tsireya. "Not all of it is a rumor. Rotxo told me, that he heard how Fayem told his brother about helping Y/n to ride her Tsurak once she recovers!" Lorell gasped at that. "You didn't tell me that!". Tsireya rolled her eyes again before looking at Neteyam. "It's only gossip. Don't let it get to your head. Neither of you!". She made a point to look at each Sully sibling individually to get her point across. Tuk grinned. "It doesn't matter anyway. Neteyam is teaching her how to ride her ikran. Fayem and no other warrior could do that better than him...well, except dad." That had the girls intrigued. "Really? Is there anything else?" Tuk took a deep breath and said, "Well-". Before Tuk could feed these gossip-hungry viperwolves, Neteyam intervened. "Tuk, don't!" Frowning, she looked at her oldest brother. "Why?" "Because gossiping is not in good taste and it will lead to rumors." Not fully understanding Tsireya's explanation, she questioned further, "But why are rumors bad?" Smiling at her innocence, Tsireya leaned toward Tuk. "Hm, it's as if I were saying that you don't like a certain food just because you once did not want to eat it because you were already full." Tuk gasped. "But that's a lie!"
"What's a lie?" All eyes turned to you as you approached the group. "Hey guys, so what's a lie?" You asked again, sitting down between Tuk and Neteyam. "A rumor is!" Tuk gladly shared her new wisdom. You glanced quickly at Tsireya briefly, who only shook her head before you turned back to Tuk. "It surely is." The group was suddenly surrounded by awkward silence. "So how is Fayem?" Lorell asked, taking a sip from her cup to make it seem like a casual question. You looked at her confused. "He is fine...?" Nupxi commented: "Oh good. We were just wondering since you seemed to be so...friendly." Now catching on, you rolled your eyes. "We were talking. You know that's what people do at celebrations. Just like we are talking now too." Lorell grinned at you, "Right, now that we are talking...did you know that Neteyam was the youngest hunter in his clan to ever make a clean kill on a sturmbeest?" She was a little unsure about the animal's name, but Tuk nodded, confirming that she got the name right. Lorell and Nupxi were waiting for your reaction. You kept your face perfectly still as you evaluated killing both of them. Concluding that it wasn't worth Eywa's or your parents' wrath, you answered as neutrally as possible. "No. But I am certain his clan was very happy and his family was very proud." The girls shared a look before leaning back. The awkward silence was back and they were all looking for something to say. Tsireya got up. "Well, I am rather hungry. I am going to get some food. Anybody else?" Tuk and Neteyam got up as well to go with Tsireya, although Neteyam mainly wanted to get away from the situation.
"We heard you trained with Toruk Makto. How was it?" Nupxi asks. You sigh. "You know, you are both very nice people when you are not trying to gather information to gossip. Yes, I did train. Yes, Toruk Makto was there as well. No, I did not focus on him as I was too busy getting thrown off of my tsurak. And yes, I am sure he is a great warrior. For any further questions about Toruk Makto, you might want to ask his children as they are sitting right next to you." Surprised by your harsh response, both girls got very quiet and started spotting a pout. "We were just asking."
At the buffet, Tsireya led Neteyam and Tuk to the foods she liked best and as she plated a little bit of everything for them Fayem approached. "Hey, guys, are you enjoying the festivities so far?" He questioned, mainly looking at Tsireya. She responded for the group. "Yes, all good. I heard that everybody was successful today." Fayem nodded at that. "Oh yeah, they all passed the trials without complications. Hunting also went well, your dad was part of the hunting party today, we brought back quite the kill." The last part was aimed at Neteyam and Tuk. Neteyam made a mental note to talk to his dad later. Rotxo called over to them, getting the small group's attention. He waved at Fayem to get back. Standing next to him were Lorell and Nupxi, as well as Ao'nung and some more of his friends. The girls were saying something that had Ao'nung roll his eyes as some of the others laughed. Great, just great. Neteyam was sure that they were making fun of him and his feelings for you. Fayem said his goodbyes before he went back to Ao'nung's group. Neteyam averted his eyes, focusing on Tsireya as she explained to him and Tuk what they were having on their plates.
When they were returning to your small group, now only consisting of Lo'ak, Kiri, and you, he first noticed Lo'ak's grim look, as you were still blocked from his view by a few people. As they got closer, he saw the reason for that. Fayem crouched next to you, clearly engaging you in a conversation you weren't keen on having— your body language told that much. As the tall male loomed over you, standing a little too close for Neteyam's liking, you sat there with your arms protectively wrapped around yourself, not even fully facing the man. Your ears were also slightly lowered and your tail curled around you. "So what do you say, hm? I could tutor you,once you get better, of course." Oh, so much for just gossip. "Uhm, that is very kind of you to offer but like I said, my dad is already teaching me...and also..." You quickly had to find a better excuse, just as you were desperately looking for something to say, Neteyam came into your view: "... also, I have already asked Neteyam to help me with my ikran, so there wouldn't be much time for any additional lessons anyway." You smiled at Neteyam, desperately urging him to back you up. Fayem's eyes fell on him as his eager expression turned into a frown, ears slicking back against his head. "You see, my brother is the best ikran rider, so she must take aaaallll the lessons. There will be no time. No time at all. Very sorry." Little Tuk once again took charge, but her sympathetic expression was not as convincing with the smile that graced her lips. Fayem turned back to you with a smile that was probably meant to be charming as he crossed his arms, making his biceps bulk. "Well, if you change your mind or if flying turns out to be easier than you think, you know where to find me. I am always happy to help." And with that, he walked off.
"What was that?" Tsireya wondered, seeing how uncomfortable you were with the situation. "Pushy is what that was." Lo'ak was annoyed at that guy's confidence. "Before you got here, she already told him no twice," Kiri explained. At that, Neteyam's jaw clenched. When he settled down, he sat close to you with his tail loosely curled around your back, subconsciously blocking you from the other group. The others followed his example and began eating.
Tsireya had good taste, that much was evident. The Sullys enjoyed every bit of food on their plates until they both reached for a type of shellfish that they had yet to open. It was a lot harder than it looked, and soon Tuk turned to Tsireya for help. Neteyam was not willing to give up that quickly, but you saw his struggle, aware that only a certain technique could open them without splintering the shell and ruining the meat in the process. "Wait, let me help!" You lay your hand over Neteyam's to stop his attempts before they could ruin the delicious meat. He looks at you with big eyes, turning his hand around to let you grab the seafood. As you took it, you shuffled closer to him so he could see your exact hand movements. "You have to hold it like so. Pressing your thumb into these dents. Then you press two fingers on the edge here..." Taking his still hovering hand, you lead his index finger over the still-sealed opening. "...then you press down hard and...there you go!" You moved your hands along your words and the shell smoothly opened up. With a proud smile, you turn to Neteyam, now realizing your close proximity. He felt your breath on his lips as you exhaled, your noses barely a finger's width apart. You both blush severely as you pull back to put some distance between you. Distracting yourself, you finished opening the shell and cleaned it. Carefully, Neteyam took the shell with the meat in it and watched you sprinkle small bits of the seasoning from his plate on the meat before you guided his hand toward his mouth. He slurps the meat into his mouth and lets the different flavors melt on his tongue. He hums, satisfied and nods happily at you.
"That's good!" Tuk exclaimed gleefully. You all chuckle at that. The casual conversation picked up again, but Neteyam kept sneaking glances at you. Sitting so close to you, he saw every little detail. From the seashells carefully beaded into your braids to the glowing dots on your face, which stood in stark contrast to your thick, long black lashes. Even the blue of your eyes seemed more vibrant up close. But nothing could surpass your smell. Like everybody in the village, you always slightly smelled of saltwater, but your own very personal smell was like a mix between sweet flowers and the fresh smell you could only perceive after heavy rain in the forest.
"So..." Lo'ak interrupted while playing with the wooden bracelet on his wrist. "...are we all going to learn how to ride tsuraks as well?" He directed his question at Tsireya, who looked to you for answers. But you weren't sure either and just shrugged. "Well, our future warriors learn that, but I mean, you all already went through the Omatikaya's trial with your ikran. I guess it is similar. I'm sure that could count too, at least until later. You have to perfect ilu riding before you can even consider riding a tsurak. And even if you consider it, a teacher would be needed, but not everybody is fit for teaching. Those who are choose their students when they are deemed worthy." Kiri's brows furrowed upon hearing that. "But our dad is training and he never rode an ilu in his life." You smirked. "Yes, and our father strongly urged him to learn with the ilus, but 'it will be hard to learn' isn't the best argument when talking to Toruk Makto."
"So how long would it take us to get good enough for tsurak training?" Neteyam wondered. He is a great warrior, he passed his ikran trial with flying colors, and (not that he would ever say anything out loud) it couldn't be that hard if Fayem learned it. "Well, that depends on your talent and your training. It won't take you years to practice, most children of the village are ready for training long before they reach their teenage years. The physical part is what takes so long since you need a good amount of muscle, stamina, and durability. That's why we have to wait that long. The biggest obstacle is finding a teacher. No trained warrior wants a student who still takes many risks. You are expected to be dutiful, they are the ones responsible for your safety after all. Sometimes younger warriors offer to teach eager young boys, thinking that they will manage, but it never ends well. More often than not, the boys stopped their training altogether and were only willing to pick it up years later, when actual warriors offered to train them. Since the last time that happened, there is an unspoken rule of asking Tonowari for permission before you approach a student to be." Kiri nudged Lo'ak with her elbow. "Level-headed AND an experienced teacher? Damn, you won't become a man before you are in your twenties!" It was clear that she was merely joking, but Tsireya didn't want any of the Sullys to feel insecure. "Oh, you don't have to worry! Like I said, I think there might be an exception for you guys. But I don't doubt that your dad would be willing to teach you later. You will reach adulthood long before that." Tsireya now looks at Neteyam, trying to reassure him, and she says: "When you have settled in, our parents will most likely talk about the best way for you to transfer the trials you already did!"
She misses the confused look Kiri and Lo'ak share: "Tsireya, that won't be necessary." Now both you and Tsireya look at Kiri confused. Why wouldn't it be necessary? Neteyam is the oldest of the siblings, so he is going to become an official adult first. "I already did all my trials. I am a full hunter back home." Neteyam's voice was calm, sure of himself. Not cocky, but confident. "Oh" you and Tsireya were surprised, neither of them ever said anything. Neteyam's siblings couldn't help but notice the twinkle of admiration in your eyes, it seemed like Fayem wouldn't be the male in your life that would be the source of good gossip.
The conversation kept going, and the atmosphere was calm. You all had a great time. At some point, Tuk got sleepy and leaned onto her older brother, dozing off. Shortly after, Jake and Neytiri approached their kids to get home.
Lo'ak as well as Kiri were walking a little ahead and Tuk seemed to be sleeping in their mother's arms, so Neteyam turned to his father. "Uhm, there was this guy we just met, Fayem, I think. He said he was part of the hunting party today...do you know him ?" Neteyam cringed at his question. Surprised, Jake looked at Neteyam. "Yes. Tall guy. Tonowari mentioned that he is one of the best warriors they currently have, bright for his age. He was very helpful today. Why do you ask?" Dispirited by his father's praising words, Neteyam dismissed the conversation. "Just wondering. Like I said, he was at the party." Jake raised an eyebrow at his son but didn't question him further. "I don't like him." Both men looked at Tuk, who was gazing sleepily gazing in their direction. "Why would you say that, Tuk?" Jake wondered as his daughter was usually friendly to everybody she met, always assuming the best. Tuk yawned, "Because he is arrogant. And he fancies Y/n but she is waaaayyy too pretty for him. And too smart. And just much better. Probably the better warrior too." Tuk rested her case as she turned her face, settling in the crock of her mother's neck. Now that made more sense to Jake. "So he is just some guy you met at the party, hm? Not a man who fancies the girl you like?" Jake teased his son, a smirk stretching across his face. Neteyam didn't look at his dad as he shrugged his shoulders. "He mentioned the hunt today, that's all. I was just curious." It didn't slip that Netayam didn't deny his father's insinuation, but Jake didn't want to pry any further.

Avatar Scenarios | Na'vi versus female human and their menstruation cycle
First things first, I need to give credit where it's due!
This is inspired by another post by ✭vee (https://www.tumblr.com/bumblinv/705250184787116032/hii-saw-your-request-were-open-this-might-not?source=share)
Their account is pretty awesome and so are their works! She was kind enough to let me write a short one-shot inspired by hers! Check them out @bumblinv.
For the purpose of this plot, female Na'vi don't menstruate (wouldn’t that be nice eh?)
[experimented human that can breathe air]
You were lying on a soft mat in the Sully marui, tired and slightly grumpy. This period had hit you hard, probably since you've just been through a lot of stress and now your body was suffering from the rage of your period. All morning, you had been torn between laughing or crying, or strangling something. The others had missed you at their diving and swimming lessons, so they all came to hang out with you, which sort of cheered you up, surprisingly. After explaining why you were in bed, they begin to panic.
“Please, y/n. Let us take you to my mother so she can help you.” Tsireya was very concerned and patted your hair.
You smile slightly at their concerned looks, but before you could reassure her, Lo’ak broke in and interrupted.
“Yeah Y/N, it was a lot of blood on the cloth patches you were washing earlier.”
Your eyes widened in shock and irritation, “Excuse me, you were spying?” A faint flush spread up on your neck, warming your cheeks.
“We could all smell it.” Neyteyam, Ao’nung, and Rotxo nodded their heads, eyeing you with a mixture of disbelief (at the amount of blood they remember seeing)  and worry.
You groan, slapping your hands on your face to cover it. “Look, it’s normal, I’ll be fine!”
"No you're not! You asked for something this morning, to help with your stomach cramps!" Kiri insisted.
"It's probably tapeworms." Ao’nung muttered.
At this you finally  burst out laughing, no longer able to keep it in. Everyone looked frustrated at not being able to understand. Soon they began to worry even more, because you were still laughing pretty hard. Then to their amazement, you begin to laugh-cry and break down into full on sobs, hard enough that you were gasping for air between tears.
“Y/N!!! Y/N, what’s wrong?”
“That’s it, I’m getting the Tsahik!” Tsireya and Lo’ak dashed up and disappeared.
Neyteyam crouched next to you and took you into his arms, rocking and shushing you softly.
Ao’nung and Rotxo were frightened but awkward, so they just sat as they watched Kiri and Neyteyam do their best to comfort a now hysterical you.
Lo’ak and Tsireya soon returned with Ronal and her kit.
“Move.” She commanded Neyteyam and Kiri.
You tried to explain that it was just hormones but failed, since your body and voice was still shaking from the current of emotions.
After clearing the room of males, Ronal’s quick and capable hands began to examine you.
Voices were heard outside, and soon Jake came in. He took Ronal to the side and in low tones briefly explained to her the female human anatomy, menstruation cycle, and hormone fluctuations.
After the conversation, Ronal’s face had a look of pure exasperation and annoyance. But nonetheless, she was kind enough to give you a drink that would calm you down and make your sleepy, she also left some herbs for cramps.
The drink soon had you calmed and you could breathe more easily. Now you were a bit sleepy, and before you drifted off, Jake came over and patted your head.
“It’s alright baby girl.”After that scare, the other children never let you hear the end of that. But when your period came around, they treated you as if you were a fragile flower, perhaps maybe even with a little fear that that situation would happen again. Regardless, despite teasing, they never braved another conversation about your female anatomy again. Your emotional break down traumatized them! 😅

hiiii lottie, this is not a question and i honestly have no idea where this is going, but there's too much things i need to say soooo let's start with a massive, gigantic THANK YOU! the way you managed to write chapters averaging +10k words each EVERY SINGLE WEEK for TWENTY. NINE. FUCKING. WEEKS!!! this is monumental work you did on your free time and i'll never be grateful enough for all the efforts you put in it.
there is something about the way you write, idk if it's about your descriptions or the way you handle your characters and their voices, but i think i'm simply in love with your style! i had read all your avatar works before ftnadol, and i'm so glad i was able to read this one since the first chapter. the journey has been one of a kind, a wild ride unlike any other, and to tell you how deeply invested i became, just know i usually rarely take time to comment on fanfics. shame on me i know, but i'm too shy and never know what to say but idk what happened with this fic, i guess it broke something in me. it took me three chapters to leave the tiniest comment and then i was writing whole-ass essays???? i don't even know myself how that happened but goood, i think i needed to somehow process all the thoughts and feelings and emotions your writing gave me. and now it's so much easier to leave comments on other fics and it provides me so much joy and pleasure to know that writers know how much i enjoy and care for their works, so i guess i must thank you for that as well 💖
i think i told you already but your little story became a whole part of my routine, i had my monday night ritual reading the new chapter, screaming in my pillow and then again in your comments. i was looking forward to come back to this universe every week, thinking about those characters at random times throughout the week, wondering what would happen to them next and coming up with my own little theories. they were not always correct (malachy socorro, you will alway be remembered </3) but this kept reminding me the power held by fanfiction, stories, and art as a whole. i cannot fathom how some people manage to live their lives without being deeply involved in fandoms and engaging with cultural medias, and i'm so sorry they'll never get to experience the sorrows and joys it provides!
now that's been said, back to ftnadol! where to even begin? the whole concept of this alternative universe is a banger sort of idea! i mean, sorry, but eywa-blessed spider in a world where every single human was sent back to earth?!?!?! goooosh it feels just like yesterday that jake was finding baby spider in hell's gate, and look where we are now! so much has happened, those characters went to hell and back, and most essentially they've grown so so much!! baby spider and baby neteyam growing up as brothers since day one was not something i thought i needed, but you've crafted such a wonderful relationship, you wrote such a beautiful take on brotherhood and love and acceptance. i shed so many tears on this fic and just to think of their bond is making me emotional again.
every character was written so amazingly well: jake with all his humanity and stubborness, neytiri so fierce and caring, mo'at is an absolute icon, even the way you explored quaritch. his character is so complex, a much crueler version of him whose end was very satisfying. the whole expansion you made on na'vi culture and the connection between clans. tsireya, ao'nung, rotxo, even tonowari and ronal, they were not featured much but you managed to bring something fresh and new to them, fitting the twists of this story. i could say the same with tuk and kiri, i wish we'd had more of them but every time they were in a scene, they were an absolute delight and i can't wait to have more of them in the sequel. lo'ak, gosh i could say so many things about him, he is the character who touched me the most in atwow and every little additions you made to his character made me love him a little more. since spider is his big bro and not just his best friend, it changes so many things about his character. you gave us a much more mature version of him and i'm so proud of the journey he went through. now one of the biggest surprises i would say is neteyam! he didn't particularly stuck with me in canon, surely because his character is less present than the other kids and jc made a totally unnecessary decision that destroyed me. but fanon made me change my mind, and this fic played a big part in it. again it's so hard to speak of this neteyam without bringing up spider, and to see his character so impacted by the loss of his brother, with so much anger and frustration and sadness and hurt, god it was so devastating and heartbreaking. which leads us to the one and only spider!!!! our little guy, who's been through so much and yet remains that sweet kid who manages to see the goodness in people. he wormed his way in people's hearts, got a loving family and caring friends, and was ready to do everything in his power to protect them. he cares so much for his people and for his world, and life has been so hard on him but he proved everyone he deserved to be here and he's worthy!
honourary mention for the way you depicted the na'vi relationship with animals. payakan, the discovery of tsuraks and ilus, THE IKRANS. but most important of them all, my guy GUY <333 i miss him so much, and his bond with spider was the most wholesome thing. they were not able to communicate like others can and yet we saw how the trust between them grew through care to become this beautiful companionship. my life will not be complete until i see them reuniting and be one again
and last but no least, malachy! don't worry i didn't forget about him—how could i? this is just another proof of how good your writing is; you made me care so much about some original character whose foundations had everything to make me hate him. but you gave him an insane backstory, compassion and mercy, a brain, and this exceptional change of heart. i remember you wondering if we were interested in reading from his pov, and already then i wanted a more nuanced stance within the rda. you gave us everything i wanted and more with this character. he went through his own fulfilling journey and i know there's still so much more to learn about him, and he still have so much to learn from pandora, and i'm so glad he made it out alive thus far!
another massive thank you for you, lottie. i wish i could reach through my screen and give you a hug for everything you gave us with this story. your talent is boundless, you made these characters feel so real and i couldn't be happier that you decided to write this sequel because i don't want this story to end just yet. i'm not ready to say goodbye to them so i'm very excited to see where this next ride will take us <333333

Babes, bestie THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR AMAZING COMMENTS!
I'm stunned my work got you to come out of your commenting shell because your essays were literally one of the comments I looked forward to each chapter. And that you have a routine stop you're gonna make me sob-- TT_TT
I literally don't know what I can say that will say thank you for your words and love for this story so just please take my love and hugs and everything else babes.
And thank you for loving Malachy!! I'm glad he's been accepted by readers because it was a bit nerve wracking to create a character like his.
Thank you my love, one hundred times thank you

As much I love Avatar the way of water. I'm leaving the fandom and I won't write the third part since I can't find eny ideas what to write and it won't make sence for me and you guys. I know you started folowing me cuz for the avatar writing but unfortunately I won't write enything cuz no one requested enything cuz without request i don't know what to write. I even made my masterlist amd pinned it and said I would love to write character x teen reader cuz I'm emotional and with and tall muscular reader cuz they didn't get enough attetion. The reason I'm leaving ATWOW it's because it's too toxic ever since the movie came out.
For example Neteyam dying and people saying that he will come back. Like Kiri will bring him back...which is impossible. Kiri has no idea how. She can't just randomly bring dead people back.
Have you guys also forgot that Eytukan, Sylwanin, Tommy, Grace, Trudy and Tsu'tey had also dead and she couldn't bring them back. Why? Because she just can't.
And for the ships. Pls pay attention for the chemestry. The reason why Rotxo asked where Kiri cuz she was supose to learn the way of water and everyone forgot about her even tho she doesn't need it to teach. And the reason why they looked at eachother when Tsireya was teaching the Sullys because he wanted to make shure everyone to pay attetion cuz breathing in the sea is important.
Let Kiri be single.
I'm not gonna start with Ao'nung x Kiri and Ao'nung x Neteyam.
For Kiri x spider. He is litterly now adopted brother. It does grosses me with adoption romance or something. Since it was confirmend that he is part of the Sullys for now. And even in on of the avatar comics Kiri said she sees him like a brother she never had despite already having two brothers. Litterly the editors in tiktok who sexualize these two just remember Spider is 16. Since it was confirmend that Na'vi are aging faster than humans. They come out of age by 15-17 meaning Kiri will be older than Spider. Which in her human years she would be 20 years old.
And also Jake is a bitch for shutting up Lo'ak and putting Neteyam the responsible one.
And Ao'nung will NOT die in Avatar 3 shut up about it.

Tumblr media
Genre: fluff
Ao'nung X female metkayina
Word count: 1.4K
Authors note: running out of ideas...I think I'm going to write more shorter fics to put more quality into the writing.
✧・゚: ✧・゚: :・゚✧:・゚✧✧・゚: ✧・゚: :・゚✧:・゚✧✧・゚: ✧・゚: :・゚✧:・゚✧✧・゚: ✧・゚: :・゚✧
I was his from the day he became a man.
Fishing and weaving wasn't really my strong point but medicine was my great passion. I spent my days in the jungle among the reefs. Always following behind me was nonother then than Ao’nung. We were never separated. My theory is he lives to annoy me. He always had something to say whether it was flirting or just being him.
“Ao’nung must you follow me everywhere?” I say speeding and walking to get out of his sight. Making sure to walk into leaves to smack him.
“Then who would keep you company baby girl?” he says smirking, giving me those eyes I can't stand. He knew I thought he was attractive but he also knew I’d never give in. making my way to the brush I don't hear his footsteps anymore. I sign in relief. I bent down picking some flowers for the herbal tea Tsireya and I always drink. My ears perk up with awareness as I hear a foot walk into a moon pool. Looking over at him to see him smiling and motioning his hand for me to come. I made my way over to a rock where he was sitting standing in front of him. I looked up at myself with the most breathtaking stare. He puts his hand on my hips
“Come sit pretty girl. Let's take a break, you deserve it.” he pulls me down sitting me in between his legs. I didn't talk, I had too much on my mind. Guilt takes over my body, I should be working not playing around with a boy.
“Ao’nung I should be harvesting herbs…” I sign about to get up but, he pulls me back down pulling his chest on my back. “Relax, we have many healers you’re not even tsahik.” I can tell he's rolling his eyes. He’s not wrong I should relax for at least today.
“How can I relax when you’re always around ma ‘nung?” I jokingly sigh. With that, he picks me up hovering me over the water
“Ma ‘nung, please! Don't please!” not listening to me he drops me into the water. Taking this chance I dive deeper into the water. Hiding behind coral I watch him look for me. Ever since we were little, we have played this little game. I swim into an underwater cave coming to the surface and taking in air. I walk into the cave looking for a particular plant.
“Found you babygirl.” Ao’nung says hugging me from behind. He helps me pick leaves off the glowing plat. I smile at the leave he hands me. Though he was known as a bad boy in the village I've never seen that version of him when we're alone. “We should probably go back ma ‘nung. Didn’t you say you were going to go fishing with the men? You still have duties Ao’nung.” I lecture him like his mother. He sighs grabbing my hand to bring me back into the water.
Many hours later we made our way back to the village. I watch the ground as he leads the way holding my hand. He suddenly grabs in tighter making my attention shift forward. I see some guys Ao’nung hangs out with
“You're late ma Ao’nung. Hurry up and let's go”
“Leave your little toy alone for once” Ao’nung didn't like that comment and smacked the Na’vi male in the head. I watched them leave into the canoes. As they disappeared into the horizon I made my way to my muri.
“Dude just proposed to her already. If you don't I will.” I knew he was telling the truth. She was a very sought out woman. I glared at the boy na’vi trying my best not to smack him some more. The truth is I’m scared to tell her my true feelings because we've been childhood friends for so long. She is everything I want in a woman. My own mother approves greatly, but I'm scared of rejection.
“Look what you did Rotxo. He's freaking out.'' The boys laughed at me. I know they meant no harm, but I can't help to feel annoyed.
“Enough! We came here to fish!” I yell rowing faster trying to distract the buzzing in my head.
“Ma Ao’nung don't you fret I have a perfect plan to win your girl's heart. All you need to do is hang out with other girls.” Is this guy stupid or something?
“How would that help me in the slightest!?’ i yell even more frustrated
“Just think about it. She’ll see you with another girl and get jealous. She’ll realize how much she wants you ma Ao’nung. Trust me it has worked many times for us.” he says confidently looking around the group of boys for validation. I looked at the water contemplating if this was a good idea. I didn't really have many options other than this. I’ve made up my mind.
“I will do it I say loudly standing up” they cheered for me as I picked up my spear
“First course of action ma Ao’nung you must catch the biggest fish to give to a girl.” Once again they all cheered and dove into the water.
~~~
I missed Ao’nung. He’d usually be back by now showing off his catch and gifting it to me. It's often quiet in my muri without him here. Not wanting to sit here in silence I make my way to the village center. I stop standing afar from the people admiring the beauty of the village.
I feel my ears perk up listening to a conversation behind me.
“Did you think Ao’nungs plan would work?”
“It should I  mean what girl wouldn't want him.” my heart sinks, maybe I was too cold to him. Maybe I pushed him into the arms of another, but I was quickly given reassurance.
“I can't believe he’s too much of a wuss to ask Lun out, he has to make her jealous.” I look down at my feet smirking trying not to laugh. So he does have feelings for me after all. I'm disappointed he couldn’t just tell me directly. I’m going to have fun with this. I make my way to the bond fire making sure to sway my hips to get Ao’nungs attention. He sat there with some random girl in his lap. I internally roll my eyes, how could he be so stupid? I sat on the opposite side of the fire right next to some guys.
“Ma Lun you came tonight. I thought you’d be too busy for the feast tonight.” Meuia said with a soft smile. He was a sweet, kind boy. Though coming from a family of warriors tis, not his nature, we knew each other from our fathers. “I thought I should get some fresh air you know?” I say politely. I watched him look away nervously rubbing his fingers as if he was in pain. I grab them quickly observing them.
“Ma Meuia what has happened?”
“Oh, this is just weaver's hand. It is quite normal”
“ You should let me fix it. I wish the weavers would have come to me sooner there is a cure for this ma Meuia.” I grab his hand swaying my hips as we walk past Ao’nung. I can feel him burn holes into my backside. From the corner of my eye, I see him get up and follow us.
We make our way into my muri. I bent down making sure to show off the roundness of my ass.
“I know it is here somewhere,” I say knowing exactly where it was. I wag my tail back and forth knowing Ao’nung is watching somewhere nearby.
“Ah, I found it. Come here so I can fix you up.”
He walks over to me kneeling. I grab his hand rubbing herbs on it.
“So are you courting anyone yet ma Meuia?” I ask innocently giving him puppy eyes
“Well know but I want to ask you if-” he was quickly shut down by Ao’nung barging into my muri
“I’m going to have to ask you to leave ma meuia. I need to speak to Lum about a very important business.” he sternally says, opening the cloth door and asking him to leave. He gets up before I can speak and rushes out the door.
“Ma Ao’nung what could you possibly want now? Come to bother me now? You should go to that other girl.”
“I want you babygirl.” he couldn’t be more clear than as of right now. “I wanted you from the moment I became a man. You are everything to me. I was stupid to ever think making you jealous would make you confess your love. I was a coward and I'm sorry please forgive me.” I didn't know what to say. All I knew is that I wanted him.
“Ma Ao’nung…I want you to.”
Note
36, 17, 15, 37 and 8 for the 40 questions ask meme please!!
8- Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
Oh no, this is SO hard. I pride myself on my dialogue, and 'dialogue heavy' is one of the more common tag on all my works. Some of my favs have been emotional, heavy moments between characters, but I also write real stupid banter which I enjoy a lot, especially when it lands for readers. It's very hard to share a good dialogue snippet without the context that makes it funny or emotional though.
I also published 157 works, so there's choice galore! Here, have a bit from an Elden Ring fanfic, in which you, the reader, are the mate of one of the bosses, and the player character (the Tarnished) is a non-gendered character coming in and out of your life (as they do in the game), helping restore your hubby's memories and health by giving him death root. Just having fun with the way games send you on perpetual quests.
————
'I have seen you bring deathroot tirelessly,' you say, 'and wanted to thank you myself. It can't have been easy.'
'What ails him?' they asks, changing tack.
'An old grief,' you answer, the half-lie coming easily. 'Turned to madness.'
The Tarnished cocks their head sideways, a little like a curious wolf. 'I couldn't help but notice that the deathroot seemed to help? Like he's regaining memories… What affinity does Gurranq have with death?'
'You're a curious one, Tarnished.'
They look down and kick a pebble, swaying on the balls of their feet, now more like a child than a wolf.
'It's rare…' they say. 'For anyone to talk to me, or talk intelligibly. I miss it. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry.'
'That's alright,' you say with a smile. 'No harm done, and I understand you. I miss many things. I think if I saw a honey roll right now, I might cry.'
'Do you want me… to get you some?' the Tarnished asks, uncertain.
You laugh hard enough to nearly fall off your perch.
The Tarnished crosses their arms, defensive. 'What?' they ask. 'I've been sent on stranger quests.'
'I don't doubt it! Strange quests for strange times… But no. I would have no reward for your work, Tarnished, and Gurranq and I are not to linger here, so don't worry yourself.'
15- If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?
In Odd Company, my personal take for the Book of Boba Fett series, before it aired. Not like it's a high bar to clear, but I'm convinced my version is far superior, and it'd be the pilot episode. It was done for the BoBF Big Bang and has bonkers good art by Roventum.
17 was answered here!
36- Which is your favorite site to post fic?
AO3. I don't post anywhere else.
37- Talk about your current wips.
That is… a lot. There are a lot. I have so many unfinished works, I'm just the most blessed writer as I've received a stunningly tiny amount of "Update WHEN???" messages. For Avatar alone I have
Two chapters in the works for the Five is an awful number fic (which was always intended to be a one shot, I hate you all) Next (and final???) chapter of the Trail of Crumbs Quaritch fic A fic focusing on Quaritch and Spider as Spider adds a bead to his songcord for meeting him The Ronal and neytiri have a chat chapter of the Ronal fic Kiri x Rotxo date followed by the arrival of Spider…
In Arcane I need to finish Fathers and Daughters, and all the rest is suspended till the blue people mental illness subsides.
For Star Wars I am sitting on a finished chapter for the double time travel fic but I got concrit on it that demands a complete rewrite. Tarkin and Soka sitting where they always do, overshadowed by Pandora and its delights… I also have a bunch of unfinished Andor bits, which I might honestly yeet into a blog post instead of leave to rot on my laptop.
I'm not even going to list things in SW… I have WIP disease and I kind of hate it for myself.
40- Write an alternative ending to [insert fic title] (or just the summary of one).
I wouldn't know how. I've never felt the need to write alternate endings. I also almost never know "where the characters go" after I finish a story. If the ending is open and vague, it's on purpose. I'm not withholding anything.
There isn't a single fic I'd look back on now and want to change the ending. My endings are rare but I'm happy with all of them.
Sorry x'D
Thanks a lot for the asks! <3
