he was the ONLY one character (along with his wife) that did not wise up he was in a horror movie at ANY TIME and I respect him so much for that. SO MUCH. He went down very quick when he caught up what was going on but then again, his losses were not "oh i woke up and a weird ugly corpse is feeding from my chest while thrusting into me - i love my pants. thank you pants. i love you pants - so maybe the horrors are real" his losses were "my wife is dead of pestilence and my two daughters were violentally murdered while I was asleep and STILL you insist on your nonsense specter vampire thing which is obssesed with your MAD UNREASONABLE wife, who i cared for during MONTHS wasting no expense and losing sleep over - a thing all of you are judging me, btw, oh how could i tie the convulsing, raging, sleepwalking woman to the bed i should let her wander into my home convulsing sexually (why? how? Eww) where my TWO LITTLE DAUGHTERS plagued by NIGHTMARES live bc better they be scared that a woman confined? Excuse me for being down about that while all of you center about an hypothetical being of darkness while everyone dies around us and oh! also that fucking NIGHTMARE WOMAN."
Like this movie was very beautiful, the aesthetics were on point and they got the repulsion aspect of the dark romanticism very well but ohmygod the characters and the dialogue were all awful and rushed and just...incoherent.
I only stan Friedrich in this movie and maybe his wife (she was far too lax with the lilyrose character to be believable) and i did not even like them. They were just the only believable people there, for me.
(And maybe the dove-eating servant. He was very consistent with his shit. He wanted to be king of rats and was ready to salivate over his lord at any time any motive anywhere. Disgusting but! consistent)
funniest part of nosferatu 2024 is when the boys are trying to roll out for boys night but one dude is a no show so they go to find him and he's like. it turns out he's awol from boys night because he went mad with grief and died of the The Plague while he was defiling the corpse of his beloved wife. and the other lads just have to go wow sad and leave it at that because they're on a CRAZY time crunch trying to kill this fucking feratu. you know how it is with boys night.

Just a snippet of something I was working on but then got bored of the concept so didn't write it but I still want everyone to read the fluf. Tell me if y'all are interested in this, maybe I'll continue it with public demand<3
Plot: reader is kinda reincarnate. She was cursed in her first life by a witch because she had an affair with the witches husband. (Don't judge okay, my girl made a mistake!!) And the curse was to be reincarnated in every lifetime with her memories of last life still intact, and to find someone she loves and watch them die (Because why not).

"Do you remember the languages?"
"Of course, I do. Cursed to do so, remember?" You smirk.
"Tell me something in them." Azriel's eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"我过了愉快的一天。It means, I had a good day." He looks awed by the foreign words. And then excitedly asks for more, like a child wanting to know new facts.
You laugh and amuse him, speaking in different languages, repeating a few when he asks to learn them. Speaking in these tounges, many that you forgot even existed in different worlds, it feels nostalgic, the words awakening all the happy and sad mamories that you had buried deep in your brain.
"I also remember my first language, the one I spoke in the life I got cursed."
"Oh? Tell me." He smiles softly.
You smile at him, bluntly admiring his beautiful face.
"હું તને પ્રેમ કરું છુ."
You look deep into his eyes, speaking the truth that was buried within your heart. Even though you've said it before, it feels somehow different, even more intimate in your native language. Azriel seems to have sensed the raw emotion in your words, his face filled with adortion as he asks, "What does that mean?"
You want to answer him truly but think to mess with him a little and smirk up at him. "You are weird."
The two of you bust out laughing, looking at each other, him shaking his head in disbelief with the smile still on his lips, and your head tossed back, eyes closed in pure contentment.
"I hate you." Azriel still shakes his head, looking elsewhere for a moment, trying to look annoyed but failing.
When you finally pause laughing, you crook out a reply, "I'm sorry! You are not weird-" He finally looks at you, an eyebrow raised. "You are just- odd," He scoffs. "But good odd, I promise!" The last sentence barely understandable through your laughter.
"Well, હું તને પ્રેમ કરું છુ, too."
You freeze. All signs of amusement leaving your face as you gaze at him. Your eyes widened, mouth agaped. Hearing those words, in your language, from his mouths, ignited something in you.
Also, how did he say it without mistakes after hearing only once?
He frowns at your reaction. "What- Did I say it wrong? Oh god, I made a mistake didn't I?" He winces, thinking about all the possibilities about what he could've said to have a reaction like this.
"No,You-" Blinking at him in shock, you put your hands on his neck and gently kiss him. He instanty melts into the kiss, moving his lips with yours with passion.
You pull back after a moment and say, "You said it perfectly." You're lips curved into a soft smile.
"Yeah? Now tell me what it really means."
"Huh?"
"Considering the kiss you gave me, it can't actually mean what you said."
You laugh. "Well, guess you'll never know." He sighs dramatically, then smirks. "Then I'll just keep saying it until you tell me."
"Darling, હું તને પ્રેમ કરું છુ."

"Sam!" Dean stood up, his cell phone still pressed to his ear, and fixed his green eyes on his brother, who had just walked in through the motel room door. "Where the hell have you been?! I've been calling you all morning! Is Y/N okay??"
Sam shoved his hands in his pockets and blew out a long breath, his eyes slightly wide. "Sorry! I'm sorry. My cell phone—the battery must have died or something," he said, drawing it out of his pocket. The screen was a spiderweb of broken class and completely unresponsive. "Oh. I guess it's—broken... that's weird," he mused quietly. He paused thoughtfully and now vaguely could remember it clattering to the floor during all the—chaos.
Dean paced over toward him, his brow heavily furrowed. "But Y/N is alright? No more ghosts? That spirit freak didn't show up again last night?"
Sam pressed his lips into a thin line and shook his head. "Nope. No more ghosts. She's—good. She's gr—fine. She's good. I—I think we got it done. So..."
Dean's eyes narrowed. "Why're you acting so weird?" he asked.
Sam let out a dry laugh and shrugged. "What? I'm not acting weird," he retorted, striding farther into the room and digging around in his duffel bag.
Dean was staring at him closely. Sam could feel his older brother's eyes boring into him and gulped nervously. "You are acting weird," Dean said again, his voice deepening. "What's going on?"
Sam pulled some clean clothes out of his bag and straightened up. "Nothing is going on!" He started backing toward the bathroom to change. "I'm just gonna change and then I told Y/N we'd pick her up and go get some food, okay?"
Dean stared at him backing toward the door and then something in his brain seemed to spark. His eyes went wide and he licked his bottom lip thoughtfully. "Hey—hold on a second," he said, his voice less gruff and demanding now. "What did you and Y/N get up to last night to pass the time?"
Sam froze looking like a deer in headlights. "...What?"
"Last night. What did you and Y/N do? You know, while you waited to see if everything was all taken care of."
Sam shook his head. "Nothing. You know, we—" he cleared his throat nervously, "—talked and stuff."
"And stuff?" Dean repeated, unable to hide a smirk any longer. Sam stared back at him. Dean crossed his arms and surveyed his little brother one more time. "Uh huh. You slept with her, didn't you?"
Sam's mouth dropped open and he mouthed wordlessly for a moment before his face flushed bright red and he couldn't help the huge (but semi-awkward) smile that broke out on his face. "I—I don't think that's any of your business!" he retorted.
Dean laughed and shook his head. "You didn't deny it just now and your face looks like a tomato, so clearly you did. That's why you're acting so squirrelly," he said, giving his younger brother an approving nod. "You think I didn't notice what was going on with you two? Why do you think I stayed at the cemetery and sent you home with her, huh? And what, your phone got destroyed while you were—actually, you know what—NOPE! I don't need to know anything else," Dean said, chuckling to himself, holding his hands up.
Sam made a break for the bathroom and the door slammed much louder than necessary.
"Atta boy, Sammy!"

Facing your fears is tough. No matter what it is, no one would actually choose putting themselves through a situation in which they know would cause them extreme distress. For some that may be going on a rollercoaster, interacting with a clown, going into a dark forrest alone, it could even be making a phone call by yourself to schedule a doctor's appointment (which is a valid fear to have, thank you very much.)
And here you were, facing your fears: being sat in your living room with Steve Harrington 3 feet away from you for an extended period of time. It's only been about 15 minutes, where no talking has happened since minute two.
You hope you can get to 30 minutes without fainting.
As you attempted to focus on the book in front of you, Jane Austen's words, who usually kept your focused for hours on end, were not being absorbed by you in the slightest. How could they, when Steve fucking Harrington was in your house.
Steve is the type of guy who Jane Austen would write about, you thought, eyes flickering towards him as he hunched over his book, face crinkled in concentration, trying to understand said author's musings.
The swoop of his hair, the two moles near his neck, his deep, beautiful, chocolate eyes, his gorgeous smile, and my god those arms? Yep, Jane would be absolutely obsessed with him.
"God, why did I agree to do this book?" You are snapped out of your daze at Steve's words. "What do you mean?", you replied. He gave you a look that can only be described as "seriously?"
"I mean, that I can barley understand what any of these characters are saying half the time, and honestly, it's a bit boring. I thought you would have better book recommendations," he said, running a hand through his hair to push it out of his face.
A scoff left your mouth before you could stop it. "Excuse me, are you actually hating on Pride and Prejudice, the best romance story of all time, the romance story, period." You leaned over and snatched his book. "I mean, come on! You are literally only 6 pages in, you can't just judge it that quickly, you haven't even gotten to the good parts yet!", you exclaim.
Steve watched you with an amused look on his face, unbeknownst to you, who kept rambling on, trying to convince Steve this book was worth continuing.
"— and Elizabeth, she is just funny, like actually hilarious. There is one part where she basically tells someone that I'd rather not be wasting my air talking to someone like you, like please, how did she even come up with that? Also, I'm just obsessed with this proper English style of speaking, or writing I guess, because they're basically talking shit but covering it up with fancy words! And when—"
"You talk a lot, don't you?"
You look up from the book and towards Steve, eyes widening slightly, realizing you had indeed been talking too much.
"One of my greatest faults, some may say, and by faults I mean my mom, but she only tells me this when we're arguing, so..." You glance away from Steve's face for a little reprieve. God, he's so hot.
"Well, like a good partner," you continue. "I'm trying to help you get some of this project done, and maybe if Robin were here, she could've helped," you defended yourself, crossing your arms, "which I'm still confused about, by the way. You said something about her telling you earlier how I invited you guys and some other people to work on the project together, but then she doesn't show?"
Steve leans back in his chair, also crossing his arms. You glance down for a quick second and send a quick thank you to anyone who's that Steve is wearing a tight shirt that beautifully enunciates his biceps. Or maybe you should be mad at them, you don't know yet.
"Maybe it's the fact that she noticed, like I did, that it's been a month since this project was assigned and we haven't even started," Steve countered, "which is unlike you, you usually want to get stuff done ASAP."
You look at him in confusion. "How the fuck do you know that?"
Steve smirks, "I also happen to know that you don't have a sister, thanks to that lovely dinner with your mom." You shake your head in disbelief, mentally making a note to yell at your mom later.
"Isn't that what you said one of the many times I asked you to work on the project?" Steve looked so amused with himself, all cocky and proud that he had uncovered your lie. Your brain tried desperately to come up with a realistic enough explanation, but nothing was coming up.
You throw your hands up in defeat. "Ok, fine! I lied! Is it just so hard for you to believe that maybe, just maybe, not everyone in that high school wants to spend time with you outside of it?" Oh my God, why the fuck would you say that, you screamed internally.
Steve stared at you for a second before letting out a chuckle. " You know, I did think of that actually, but only for a bit." He reaches out for the book and grabs it from your grasp, flipping to a random page.
"You can only run away from a guy so many times before he catches a hint," he peers over at you, " and I mean literally, you're a fast runner, did you ever do track?"
"Yeah, in middle school," you answer quickly. Steve lets out a hum of agreement before placing his attention back on the book. You open your mouth, about to quip about being careful to not rip the pages when he speaks again. "I know I'm dumb, but I'm not an idiot, ya know?"
Your gaze snaps to his face. "Steve, I don't think you're dumb." He doesn't look too convinced. "Eh, I think you do. But you're interesting, you took me a lot longer to figure out than the others since girls just typically throw themselves at me."
You make a face of disgust, "Ok, you sound like a total prick, you know."
"Yep, heard it after I said it, but that's not the point here." He point his finger at you, "You have a crush on me."
You splutter out a sound of indignation. "Hello, what?" In your head, fire alarms are sounding. It's a code red, all hell is breaking loose. "Pfft, no I absolutely do not."
Steve raises his eyebrows. "Then how else do you explain the running away when you see me anywhere at school? You always have an insane excuse why we're not able to meet up to start the project, which some are hilarious," he admits, "but you've got me complaining about not doing homework, look what you've done to me!"
At this point you've gone silent, mouth agape with an excuse stuck in your throat refusing to come out. Steve's expression has changed, his eyes bore into yours with earnest, almost as if he's anticipating a certain answer, hoping for it. "So?"
You muster all the courage you have left and just when you're about to respond, Steve interrupts you again for like, the 15th time.
"Anyways, I've to get going, have some things to do and whatever." He gets up, shrugs on his jacket and then places his books in his backpack. You get up too, having absolutely no clue how to tell him not to go, that you want him to stay. "Steve, what do you mean?"
He glances over at you, "Nothing, I just have to go. I'm a busy guy." He starts making his way to your front door, leaving you behind in the kitchen, trying to understand what the fuck just happened. First, he accuses you of having a crush on him, which you do, and then he just thinks he can leave?
Oh, absolutely not.
With a new wave of determination, you catch up to Steve just as he's finishing putting on his shoes. "Say thanks to your mom for me for dinner, it was great," he says as he grabs the door handle. You don't let him continue with whatever stupid thing he was going to say next.
"Listen Harrington, I don't know what the fuck just happened back there, but the fact you think can just, leave after dropping a bomb like that is ridiculous," you say, glaring at him in annoyance, and Steve's just staring back at you with that stupid, stupid, smirk that has not left his face since the moment he stepped foot in here.
"So what if I did like you, huh? What if I did have a crush on you? Because I do, but that, quite frankly, is none of your business, none of your concern, actually, so... yeah." Steve is looking at you and you're looking at him, a little out of breath after your declaration. You don't have the energy right now to fully process what you just said.
All of a sudden, Steve seems to break character, the smugness gone, replaced with subtle endearment. He leans down and presses a swift kiss on your cheek before whispering, "Well, it's a good thing I like you too." He straightness back up and says, "I told you I knew you were different, you're a mystery. You're lucky running away seemed to work on me, by the way. I don't think it would for everyone else," he says while you stare at him in shock. You've been rendered silent once again, with nothing but the thought that Steve likes you back, repeating over and over again.
You clear your throat before speaking, "Well! Um, yay?" You truly have no idea what to do right now. Steve chuckles at your reaction, like he can't believe his words have caused you of all people, who continuously talk and talk and talk, to not have anything profound to say for once. He's kind of into it.
Steve grabs your hand and encases it with the other. "Come over to my house tomorrow after school, I'll drive you. We can work on the project and you know, talk, if you want." You nod fervently, "Yeah, yeah ok."
He smiles and drops your hand. "I really do have to go though, I wasn't making that up," he remarks as he opens the front door. "Oh, sure, that's fine," you reply. You hold open the door for him and watch as he descends the steps and makes his way towards his car. You watch him, holding onto the door for dear life.
As Steve gets into the car, he looks over at you and waves, "I'll see you tomorrow!" You wave back and yell back, "Yeah, tomorrow!" You don't go back inside until the car is out of sight. As you shut the door, you press your back against it, trying to wrap your head around what exactly happened in the last few hours.
Holy shit, you though, Steve Harrington likes me. Steve fucking Harrington. You let out an involuntarily squeal of excitement and immediately regret doing it as your mother calls down from upstairs. "Mija, are you ok? What happened?" Hearing her voice reminds you of her involvement over the events that transpired tonight.
Putting your happiness on hold for a moment, you start to storm up the stairs. "Mom!", you yelled, "How could you embarrass me like that, asking him to stay over for dinner, you know how I feel about him, I just about fainted 5 times throughout the night, how does that make you feel!? You almost killed me an—"
You would thank your mom later, because ultimately she helped, but for now, you'll stick to this.

[Dare to Dream]
Kamimura knows that nothing lasts forever all too well. You can blink, and find that everything you've ever loved is gone. This time, he would rather not add more to the ocean full of things left unsaid.
A short Hasemura story. Alternate ending to [Woodshop].
“Ken, I...”
“Y-yeah...?”
Kamimura looks to the side, tops of his cheeks growing rosy. It's very prominent on his pale skin. He clenches his jaw, takes a deep breath and steels himself, before turning back to Hasegawa.
“Fuck, I...I'm not gonna...
I've only known you for three weeks, but...Ken...”
He trails off, eyes boring into a random point below Hasegawa's chin.
Shakily, he draws air into his lungs again, and finally raises his head. A single tear slips down his cheek, his mouth curling into a slightly pained smile.
“Ken, I think...you...you're the best thing that's ever happened to me.”
Hasegawa's mouth drops open, breath catching in his throat, his ever-present blush glowing more fiercely. He reaches for Kamimura's hand, enveloping it with both of his, and brings it up to his chest, making Kamimura's face even redder.
“Kazutoshi, I, I.... Y-you, too...! Oh, gosh...” Tears well up in his eyes. He's at a loss of words.
His eyes flicker over Kamimura's expression. Whatever he finds in it, it makes his shoulders slump.
“You...you, too.” he mumbles, quieter. He smiles, face softening. There are words rising from somewhere deep within him. He hasn't been aware of them before now. But, saying them, somehow...is the easiest thing he's ever done.
“I...I love you, too.”
“Wh-wh-KEN !” Kamimura shouts, wrenching his hand away as if burned, his face now a deep shade of crimson, “Don't just say shit like that!”
Hasegawa chuckles softly. “But it's true!”
Kamimura's hand is shaking. “It's no-ot....funny...” His voice grows quieter and weaker, and his eyes slip shut. The last thing he hears is Hasegawa's panicked “Oh, shi-”
When he comes to, he's laying on the floor, with something soft under his head. He blinks blearily, confused.
When his eyes adjust, he sees a worried Hasegawa kneeling next to him, gnawing on his lip and twiddling his thumbs.
He stops when he sees that Kamimura's awake. “Hey,” he says softly.
“Hey.” Kamimura whispers back. He blinks, looking closer. “Where's...your jacket?”
“O-oh, that...it's um, under your head,” Hasegawa mumbles. He looks guilty, “...sorry.”
“It's fine.” Kamimura props himself up on his elbows, and sits up, “Put it on, it's cold as fuck in here.”
Hasegawa nods and takes it back. It's quiet again.
Glancing at him, Hasegawa looks absent-minded, deep in his thoughts, and they don't seem like a nice place to be. Kamimura sighs internally, closing his eyes. They can't just move on and pretend this didn't happen, can they...oh, fuck it...
“Hey!” Kamimura says louder, making Hasegawa jump, “I told you, it's fine. You don't have to feel bad or whatever. This is normal for me.”
“I know...but, still...” Hasegawa sighs. Kamimura groans internally. He takes a deep breath, holds it in for a few seconds, and releases it with a sigh.
“Listen...did you mean, what you said before?” Kamimura inquires, catching Hasegawa's eye. Trying to keep his tone and face as neutral as he can.
Immediately, Hasegawa's posture straightens, his eyes shining with such conviction that it takes Kamimura aback.
“Of course I did! Why would I lie about that?” he exclaims. Then, wilting slightly, “As...long as you're okay with that, I guess.”
Kamimura lets a small smile come on his face, feeling a long-lost feeling of warmth bloom in is chest. He recoils from it for a few moments, but then surrenders, welcomes it, embraces it. It makes his body seem light.
He felt like utter shit just a few minutes ago, talking about every single thing that's wrong with him and his life, and in a way, nothing has changed, but...It all seems a little more distant from here and now.
He feels young, younger than he's felt in years, and it makes him feel like, somehow, everything might turn out okay.
“Y-yeah,” he breathes. “I am.” He reaches out his hand, hesitating, before placing it on top of Hasegawa's.
Hasegawa looks down at their hands, and then back at him, surprised, before breathing out a sigh of relief, his frame visibly sagging. He flips his hand and grabs Kamimura's, gently but firmly, caressing the knuckles with his thumb. It's warm.
He smiles, so sweetly, so genuinely, in a way that only he can, that Kamimura can't help but believe him. He's been weak to it since the day they met.
“We'll get out of here...okay? Together.”
“Right.” Kamimura says, and despite everything, he dares to dream.

I was curious about that because I knew Brother's War had some dragons (including some artifact dragons) and upon checking I found that yeah, it's dragons were all rare (and one uncommon.)
I was then curious how much farther back you'd have to go to find the next set without a red dragon at mythic rare, and what I learned is that The Brother's War is an outlier.
Now depending on how technical you want to get depends on the answer. If by "red dragon at mythic" you mean a mono-red dragon then technically the answer is New Capenna from earlier in the same year (literally the set before the set before Brother's War). New Capenna's sole dragon is Ziatora, who does sit at mythic rare but is Jund colors (BRG) rather than mono-red.
But if by "red dragon at mythic" you mean any dragon with red in its cost/color identity, we have to keep going because Ziatora does have red in her cost. Strixhaven would be the next set to fail the mono-red criteria, but two of the founder dragons that make up a mythic cycle in the set have red in their costs (Galazeth Prismari and Velomachus Lorehold.) So we have to keep going until we hit 2020's Ikoria, which surprisingly only has a single dragon in the entire set, Sprite Dragon at uncommon.
In the interest of further curiosity I went just a little farther back. Interestingly enough Theros Beyond Death and Throne of Eldraine, the next two sets on our trip backwards also lack dragons at mythic in the sets proper (but do have red dragons at rare)...although Throne of Eldraine does have Korvold from the Brawl precons who is technically a mythic rare and Jund colors again, but I'm not gonna count him. War of the Spark and Ravnica Allegiance get us back on track with some mythic red dragons (War of the Spark's Niv-Mizzet is 5 color but that counts.) Interestingly, Guilds of Ravnica doesn't have a mythic red dragon despite having a Niv-Mizzet card because he's only rare in this set. Dominaria did have a mythic red dragon again (two technically, one mono-red the other Jund), only for us to finally run into the end of the block model with the two sets of Ixalan block which didn't have any dragons because dinosaurs ate up the available creature slots for large red creatures. So if we go from 2018's Dominaria to Bloomburrow this year, we hit 24 sets, of which only 5 sets lack any kind of dragon at mythic rare, and an additional 3 lack a mono-red dragon at mythic rare.
The last premiere set without a red Dragon at mythic was The Brother's War two years ago.

Holding out hope that the writing in veilguard will get more bearable but rook saying to lucanis that it's "not nice that Spite hurt him" and he "shouldn't accept that it’s fine bc it wouldn't be ok if a person did that" like. Remember when this video came out there were people who heard the voice at the end and thought the voice was either Sammy or the Ink Demon? Man, those were the days. However with all due respect, I'm glad neither case was right in the end lol.
On this day 5 years ago, "Unknown - April 14th" was posted on YouTube, which means it's been 5 damn years since we first heard from Wilson...
man, what a damn BABY MAN, am i right folks
It's interesting to think that even though it's been 5 years, we've only known who Wilson really is for 2 years now (or more appropriately, 1 year and 5 months of those 5 years). Of course, now, after BATDR was released, we know who he is and what his place is in the Bendy universe. But between April 1, 2019 and November 1, 2022, all we knew about him was that he…existed. He was someone - someone bad apparently - who sounded old and who would have some relevance in the plot of Dark Revival. And that's it. We had no name, no appearance, nothing. He was someone, but we didn't know who.
It's no wonder he was only referred to as "Unknown" by fans during these 3 and a half years.
In the end, I would say that this drawing is a mix of 2 things. The first being the result of an idea I've had for a while, which is basically making a drawing in relation to the original video/"unknown" tape, but this time with Wilson, since now we know it was recorded by him. Plus it's been 5 years since the original upload,5 years of Wilson. I think this would be the perfect time to do this.
And second, a strange kind of redux/homage/"final chapter" in this kind of "collection" of drawings I did between 2019 and 2022 all based on the idea of "the unknown weirdo from BATDR saying How Very Interesting Such Knowledge" and so on. All of them having other characters in mind in the role of the Unknown. And now, here I am, redoing this idea again, only with The Man Himself this time. The real Unknown. Now as the Known, so to speak.
Going back to what I said before, you can see this drawing as a kind of farewell to this particular idea that I've kind of repeated over the years, as I've now done it again only with Wilson this time. (Does this mean I'll never draw this concept/line of thought again? I mean, I assume so. But there's no guarantee I can't make something similar again down the line. Who knows what the future holds. We will see what happens in the next 5 years.)
But,yeah. 5 years of Such Knowledge™.

The problem with a lot of body horror for me is it's just gross without being compelling
Like yeah you had that person tear their leg open and pull muscle away from bone in a way that's very uncomfortable... but I don't care. Or a lot of Hostel style horror for me it's just kinda... yeah... grossing me out isn't some kinda win
Cause it's not that I don't like body horror, I love Dead Space for instance which... kinda the core pillar of that is body horror if we're honest
Could be a matter of that that kind of body horror is more fantastic making it easier to digest, I will advance that as a theory, but personally I kinda think that it's more that they do something actually interesting with it
Like if I wanted to I could probably see a really fucked up leg wound (and worse) in looking online about this shitty world
Can't really find dead bodies contorted into killing machines though
So I kinda feel like it's my problem with a lot of horror, of that it's horrible in a mundane way where as I'm looking for some unfathomable secret out of horror
So there's a difference between some stabbing a person in the eye cause they're just a shitty person, and doing it to try and create a replica of an alien artifact that gives unlimited energy but also drives people crazy and then turns their bodies into horrible monstrosities
One is just way more interesting to me

'Still prefer corners?'
'Sometimes.' She considers the question. 'There's this tiny bookstore in Seongnam. When I go home, I still visit. They have this perfect spot by the window.'
'What do you read?'
'Whatever catches my eye. Last week it was about sharks.'
You raise an eyebrow. 'Sharks?'
'Don't look so surprised.' She laughs. 'They're fascinating. Everyone thinks they know them, but they don't, not really.'
'Speaking from experience?'
She takes a long sip of her drink instead of answering.
'You don't have to do that, you know.' You set your pen down.
'Do what?'
'Deflect. Turn everything into a metaphor.'
She meets your eyes for a long moment. 'Force of habit.'
'Bad one.'
'Says the person who's been matching my deflections word for word.' A half-smile plays at her lips. 'We're quite the pair, aren't we?'
'Difference is, I'm paid to be difficult.'
'And I was raised to be.' The words slip out before she can catch them. Her fingers tighten around her glass.
You wait.
'You're good at this,' she says quietly.
'At what?'
'Making silence comfortable.' She looks out the window. 'Most people try to fill it.'
'Most people aren't trying to understand.'
She turns back to you, something shifting in her expression. 'Is that what you're trying to do? Understand?'
'Would that be so terrible?'
'No,' she says.
