I don’t know what’s funnier, the one I assigned Wiggle or the fact that I even made this in the first place?

I have thoughts! Sorry if this is disjointed, I just went down the post and wrote what I was thinking.
Flowers
The flowers that grow around the shrink spice appear to be Mediterranean sea holly, but I'm not sure about the vines. I don't know a lot about plants, and typing a description into an image search only helped with the flowers. Since Shelda's table in the research tent has a pot that contains both plants, and is called shrink plant internally, it's probably supposed to be a single fictional plant that's responsible for the shrink spice's colour. Maybe both Floofty and Shelda already knew it was in the shrink spice, so Shelda didn't bother mentioning it.
it seems like it's easiest to find vitriol in old metal mines, so it's kind of weird that the Stone Grumps didn't seem to make anything out of metal, except maybe the Triplicate Space. But that I think is just the worldbuilding not being that deep. Or they got it from the Bugsnax somehow.
Floofty says in the sequence before the boss that what makes the Bugsnax grow big is "something about the Snakmatter on this island", but that they don't understand why it's there. Based on what Bugsnax are actually made of, Triffany's probably right about the source being all the murder.
Eclipse
The pillars look like they're read top down to me, with the ones with closed eyes being old leaders who'd died. If that's the case, maybe the leaders hadn't had horns for a while?
I got the impression from the murals that they'd sacrifice people to the Bugsnax during solar eclipses, which kept the Bugsnax pacified. Total or near-total solar eclipses aren't really that common, but maybe they happen more often in this world.
Also, there's some carvings in the temple of a Cheddarboardle Rex with a Cheddorb that look similar to some Ancient Egyptian depictions of Khepri, a scarab god of the morning sun/aspect of Ra. Cheddarboardle Rex appears to be based on a dung beetle, so maybe they're supposed to have associated it with the sun. Maybe they were sacrificing people to the Cheddarboardle Rex specifically so it would bring the sun back, until it backfired on them. Or they kept it in that room because of the sun association. That would explain all the multi-stage boss fighting mechanics in that room.
Leaders
Triffany suggests that they worshipped Bugsnax first, and then the Mother, and since there's a Mother statue visible in the eclipse mural, they probably also had Bugsnax. The horned Grumpus in the mural could've been an earlier high priestess.
It seems to be implied that the Queen came out of the pit in the central chamber, not the crater outside. Even though it does seem a bit small. Triffany even says that she thinks something big came out of the pit, and when Chandlo says that it was the Cheddarboardle, Floofty says it must have been something stronger, and Triffany agrees. So if the crater dates to the same time, it probably was an impact, maybe from the Queen rampaging.
Shelda describes Bugsnax as "children of the Mother", but she never explains what that means. Just that getting the opportunity to look at what Bugsnax are made of helped her come to that conclusion. So I mean, they could still be from space. I don't think they are, but that line doesn't rule it out.
Does the game show the leaders growing horns? I don't remember it making it clear whether they grew the horns or were born with them.
I think the thing about the destruction of their civilisation being the Mother's wrath was a justification by the survivors. Especially since the depiction of the Mother as wrathful doesn't fit with Shelda's understanding of her. They were destroyed by an angry sacrifice, and the survivors didn't understand what happened, so they came up with something sort of consistent with their worldview.
I don't think the Stone Grumps on the mainland are supposed to be a different culture than the ones on Broken Tooth. According to Jamfoot's map in the Triplicate Space, they had outposts on the mainland, but mostly lived on Broken Tooth. Triffany just says that they didn't preserve their dead like the Desert Grumps, and that Bronica thought they might have sacrificed them to the Bugsnax.
I read Shelda's "the tooth remains broken" as just a poetic way to say that the island is still destroyed, without a deeper meaning.
Triplicate Space
I was going to say that the Stone Grumps built the Triplicate Space, and later the Desert Grumps moved in and added the murals and some of the technology, but I went and looked around again, and it's made entirely of metal and nothing like anything on Broken Tooth. So now I think it wasn't made by either of them. I can't check right now, but I don't think the person depicted in all the statues fits with any of the depictions on Broken Tooth. The horn and nose shapes don't seem to match up. But I'd need to look at the statue in the boss room again to be sure. Or load up the statues in Blender to compare them, but Blender is being a very functional piece of software again and I don't want to restart my computer at the moment.
Jamfoot does imply that the Stone Grumps built it, but he doesn't say that outright, and he wouldn't know anyway, since he immediately adds that he doesn't know it's for.
So an unknown group built it, then the Stone Grumps used it, then the Desert Grumps added the murals and the records about the Queens. The key you find on Broken Tooth probably wasn't the only key, and they could have found another way in.
Then the Snakolytes found it, and used it as a break room.
Cappucceetle
I don't think it's ever implied that Cappucceetle didn't exist until Jamfoot visited the island? It's not even really implied that it let him near it, despite him describing it as his best friend. The next thing he says is "I have been here for a very long time", so I think the best friend comment was just meant to make him sound desperate and lonely. Like the employee of the month wall.
Desert Grumps
Maybe the stuff we see with the disappearing corpses was after the second Queen's downfall? That's why they suddenly had trouble burying their dead and turned to cannibalism. But the island could probably generate Bugsnax everywhere, and there are Bugsnax in the burial cave when you open it, so I don't know what locking the corpses away would accomplish.
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR BIGSNAX DLC
I wanted to compile some of the less talked about (at least from what I can find) tidbits of lore! I'm so curious and I've talked it to death with people around me. I would like all the thoughts. Give them to me.
To make things easier it will be in a list of sorts.
1. Flowers
The flowers found around mother natureas shrines are odd. I couldn't find them in the list of plants shelda listed off. That being witch hazel, cinnamon, black tea. And well oil of vitriol which I didn't see come from any plant in my googling. What is interesting is the fact that this plants thorns are carved into every single doorway.
It's clear that floofty was messing with this thing too (could be what made strabby big since its clear the shrink spice shrunk things. Floofty also states that the small size is the bugsnax natural state, and later triffany attributes the big size to the uh. "Amount of fertilizer in the ground." It should also be noted that shelda describes the plants on snaktooth as more toxic than their off island counterparts.)
2. The googly eye eclipse
So what does this plant do and why is it important enough to put on every doorway? Maybe like a ward? Regional plant sure, but it's depicted right next to the-
3. Leaders of the past
Since we don't have a timeline, and we aren't sure if the murals are meant to be viewed in a specific order- it's hard to tell if the eclipse shown in the ritual mural comes before or after bugsnax. What was the ritual for? I think we can assume that leaders who wore the halo like mother naturea were her priestesses but this ritual is lead by the horned grump. And there is no longer a big mother statue in front of the temple. In terms of the first queens emergence, a crater doesn't make the most sense if something is coming out of the ground. Who knows what the eclipse did, if it did anything.
3.5 Broken Tooths existence
Bugsnax are a natural, if dangerous, part of the world (completely shooting my aliens theory in the leg). But it was through "not following the light of the mother" that this civilization met its destruction. We see with each new leader of the ancient grumps- their eyes close and they grow horns. Honestly wish shelda could have spoken straight laced here but ya get what you get.
I'm going to assume the wording implies a corruption of values for power, an abuse of the natural phenomena of bugsnax that made them much worse than they would be otherwise. Such as dumping people in a pit full of parasites, engorging them to ginormous size. I have to wonder if mother naturea statues only exist on brokentooth and no where else because her image was used to cajole followers into acting against their best interest. "The ancients may have worshipped the mother, but her light was lost on them."
The fact that broken tooth is named in reference to snaxtooth island, could imply some interesting things. Baseline- could just be named for being the smaller and distant island. Possibly, however, it could mean that the island was named specifically for the fucked up things happening over there. It was the more technologically advanced area with a different sect of religion; or at least a different religious practice that sacrificed live grumps instead of mainland Stone grumps who simply left their dead out (thanks triff). Sheldas ominous "the tooth remains broken" could mean a lot of things. Could mean those who lived on broken tooth were shunned. Could mean the island literally used to be part of the mainland. We know the undersnax can move things. Shoot- could mean the island was created because of the sacrificial practice. Broken tooth has the temple, but that doesn't mean the leaders we are aware of started there.
5.Cappuceetle implications
4. Horned grump and the triplicate space
It's hard to drop the alien thing with the buried metal pyramid that glows, has strange technology, and gives you a crystal clear image of the night sky no matter the time of day. What's up with the murals in the triplicate space showing the future seconf queen after the destruction of the tunnels. It's possible the tunnels weren't destroyed in the destruction of brokentooth but it's still odd they came back to update the murals unless the horned grump was aware of the outcome of the sacrifices in the first place. Everyone who had survived the sinking escaped I.e. Shelda's ancestors, probably didn't stay behind after seeing what happened first hand.
There's already a pretty big question surrounding ancient grumps and modern foods made with technology that neither the stone or sand grumps had- but I feel like cappuceetles existence confirms a lot of fan theory that snaxs evolve into the most alluring form for consumption. Alegander avoided eating bugsnaxs for years, was a prior barista, the only grump on the island for who knows how long. And the only brewed drink snax ever pops into existence as a pet in the only area he locked himself up in. We know they can kinda read minds already. The sheer willpower of queens. The predatory nature towards those who are emotionally compromised.
6. The sand grumps
When you look at the sand murals, it's clear the grumps are guarding the body storage with weapons. I'm just assuming it was to keep things from coming out rather than bugsnax from going in. Im sure it's not canon but I'm assuming bugsnax, like real bugs, enter the people while they are unalived. I wonder if the bugs reanimated the corpses. Anyway. All that to say- if the second queen ruled the longest and most peaceful reign... Is this behavior normal of during the reign or during the downfall. And if that kind of paranoia was normal while she was alive and ruling, was her existence common knowledge or secret. We don't see any acknowledged existence of the queens don't exist outside the triplicate space. Which really makes the murals in there weird.
Anywho. I've been sitting on this post forever. Thinking about bugsnax.

Thinking too much about bugsnax.

Bugsnax HC time everyone!
So Ya'll got my art yesterday, now you get very self indulgent Hcs about each character, with a very specific theme. Affection and Comfort, specifically how each of the Grumps do it and how good they are with it. This was based on a post I saw of someone going over how they'd cuddle every Grumpus and I though it was so fucking cute I wanted to share my own thoughts! - Going in order of when you meet them
Filbo
Very much open to affection, You can hug him at random and he barely is surprised, just smiling and calling you out very gently with just "Hi Buddy! Good to see ya!" He's very okay with it.
Very much gives affection to anyone if you tell him. He always asks before he hugs someone or touches them, doesn't wanna make anyone feel uncomfortable.
Pretty good all around, will give you a big hug if he sees your feeling bad, get you things, talk to you, he does his best.
If he's feeling bad, he is gonna hide the hell out of it. Even if its obvious he's not feeling good he will do everything to try and seem his normal self...but one hug at that point and he's not letting go.
My lovely boy, I would just give him such a big hug, cover him in a blanket and just, squish him, he deserves cuddles and hugs all the time!
Wambus
Doesn't care much for affection like that, if you hug him, he'll let ya the first time before telling you downright he doesn't do hugs.
Although he's a man of action instead of words, he also doesn't really give any affection out to anyone, save for Triffany. He may give a lighthearted punch to the shoulder, but that's about it.
There is the exception if he knows someone is hurting like that. Wambus is horrible with comforting words, so best he can offer is a kind of side hug/arm over your shoulder and letting you go through your feelings. If its a really bad time, he will pull you in more, he's not one for comforting, but if you need it, he'll do his best.
Wambus gets pretty snappy when he's not feeling good, it's not by choice, it's how he was raised, anger kinda springs up on him. He's quick to apologize when he realizes it, sometimes.
Sir, you're the ultimate Dad friend.
Beffica
Beff isn't against hugs, but she doesn't like to give them herself, She'd call you Squeeb if you do, but she'll never tell you not to hug her.
Doesn't give out affection, just accepts it
If you're hurt or sad, she'll make an exception to hug you. She's not as good with people as she thinks, and at best will try and just tell you why you shouldn't be sad at the moment, what good is happening and all that.
If Beff isn't in a good mood, she doesn't leave her home, and will lock the door.
Triffany
She accepts hugs, knows people like hugs and doesn't mind it so long as you tell her first.
Only gives affection to her husband normally, unless atention is needed. Is a big hugger normally.
If someone is hurt she is pushed into Mom friend mode. She'll give you a hug and try to help the situation, however best she can. That is if she notices...if she's doing her studying or preoccupied in general she may overlook you for a bit until something happens to get her attention. She'd tell you stories of her work to give you something to focus on and calm down with.
If Triffany isn't feeling good she'll just spend her day closer to Wambus, other than that she's just a tad lower energy.
Cromdo
I don't have much on Cromdo, he'd likely joke about having to charge you if you hug him too much.
Doesn't really give hugs, will at the very least give you some encouraging words if he can.
Is actually kinda good at comforting people, mostly giving you someone to vent to and clear your head.
Cromdo usually stays quiet when he's not feeling his 100%.
Wiggle
Is perfectly fine with hugs, either giving them or receiving them. Somedays she may just say she isn't feeling like being touched and that will be it until she says she's okay again.
If your hurt, she'll sit by you and try to see what's wrong, if she can, she'll sing for you to try and help out.
If Wiggle isn't feeling good, you'll tell, she isn't singing for one, and if she is, she's not happy with what she's singing about.
Gramble
He won't tell you know, but he doesn't know how to accept it really.
Doesn't hug normally, doesn't want to touch people unless necessary.
he knows how it feels to feel that bad and doesn't want people to feel bad too. Depending on how close you are he'll likely end up coming close to give you a hug, if that doesn't work, he'll put his hat on you to get your attention.
If he's feeling bad, he'd like to be alone so he can get over his sadness, maybe stay with his little ones to calm down. I you try to comfort him, he genuinely may start crying.
If he's sleepwalking, don't hug him, he will latch on and then suddenly you have to sleep in the Barn with him.
My lovely, I wanna give him so much love and hugs, like Filbo but he's small, I can carry him.
Snorpy
Tell him first, he will scream and likely slap you without thinking otherwise, his nerves get him too paranoid for surprises.
Will give a hug if you ask him, but it's quick.
Very bad at comforting people, he couldn't tell he was in a relationship for years you think he can pick up and deal with emotions?
If he feels bad, he goes to Chandlo, that's all
Chandlo
He accepts hugs! But be careful he gives very tight hugs, could hurt if he wasn't so good with his strength.
If your feeling bad, he'll hug ya and hang out to talk, maybe see if you wanna go work out with him, get you moving and focused to see if that helps.
If Chandlo is down, he stays with Snorpy.
Floofty
will bite, like actually, he'll hurt you, don't hug him. If you're close, he may allow things like you pass out on him, but nothing further.
does not comfort you, he's trying to learn about Grumpus interactions, but he's not qualified for comforting yet.
hard to tell when he's down or not, let him be and things are fine.
Shelda
Will ask you not to, but won't mind if you must
She's actually happy to give hugs, but keeps her professionalism as "Shelda" so she won't.
Comforting from her comes in words, helping you talk your problems out and figure out how to help.
If she feels bad, depending she may drop the Shelda act and just sleep out the day.
Eggabell
Accepts hugs and will give them if wanted, she's friendly like that before and after Liz's disappearance...mostly
if your down, she tries to help, for one she makes sure your not sick or injured, then will sit with you and hang out.
If she's feeling bad she'll read and ask to eb alone, but will accept a hug.
Lizbert
hugs you first, big hugger, very physical and happy.
if you manage to surprise her with a hug she picks you up and laughs.
tries her best when people are down, gives a really good motivational speech and then will chill out with everyone.
if she's down, she needs Eggabell, that's the best you can do to help.
IN conclusion......
I wrote all of this for Filbo, Wambus, and Gramble specifically, and didn't wanna leave out the others. In reality i wanted to focus on the fact that I wanna hug and cuddle Filbo and Gramble and just, Wambus is very good pick two and...
this is cringe but I am cringe and I am free I will simp for the muppets thank you very much.
