I do think our willingness to forgive Green so quickly now that he's realized and repented of his error is partially influenced by that fact that we knew him as a character before he became an interactive persona, and we've continued to know him as a character outside of that interaction.

If he were a real influencer, we wouldn't have the three-episode miniseries to summarize everything and to show us what happened behind the scenes and, heck, to be our initial window into the story (for anyone who hadn't found the channel in the few days before); we'd only have Green's channel and insta and tiktoks.

That definitely skews things a bit, but tbh I find that aspect just as fascinating to examine. It adds yet another layer to the telling of this story that already has so many.
