AoStH is very precious! And it's true, Sonic was very much just the roundest little guy! xD I can't get over you calling him a little chonkamonk, I don't know why that makes me giggle, lol

I like to think - at least for how I write them - that due to Sonic being forced to be more sedentary while growing up at the orphanage on Christmas Island, that he was a little softer and had more of a tummy as a kid. He could only escape to run around the island so much and when he was bored he'd make up games about stealing snacks from the kitchen when no one was looking, not that anyone could even see him with how fast he was going ;P

When he started traveling on his own, food was suddenly harder to come by and he was exerting more energy by running almost non-stop. He foraged more, sometimes had to steal to get a good meal in, and exercised constantly, so he started losing his baby fat the more he traveled. And when Tails entered the picture, any extra food he might've been able to scrounge up would go to him instead, so that definitely made a difference.

Plus, with all the running he ends up doing, he starts developing leaner muscles. He's also close to, or actively going through, a growth spurt that'll put him closer to his modern game's height and redistribute the way he carries his weight.

So, at least in my fics, it's fair enough to assume when I'm writing AoStH Sonic specifically that he's in the process of losing the rest of his baby fat, but still has a bit of that childhood roundness to him.

Not to be passive aggressive or anything (/gen) but I think that the people who complain about aroace people posting under the aromantic tag need to learn a little something called Block Them And Move On With Your Life. "Oh but they're cluttering the tag by talking about asexuality---" literally just block them and don't interact. Tumblr is a self-curated experience, if you don't like what you're seeing then do something about it besides being a dick. Aromantism and asexuality are inherently going to have incredibly interconnected experiences since they're both defined by a lack of attraction (especially in a society where romantic and sexual attraction are often lumped together anyways), so there's no point trying to gatekeep by categorizing someone else's account into one or the other.
