Their squinted eye gives you a look over. He seems to be trying to find the right words.
“I truly envy your position, you know. Asriel got an infinite number of opportunities to make up for crossing his points of no return and we don’t even get one, and you…you never took that plunge. You got out of the Underground for good. You broke the cycle, while Asriel’s ‘best friend’ makes sure there is nothing left within a few months at best.”
FRISK huffs, rubbing beneath the hair bang concealing their left eye.
“I deserve nothing less. It’s a hell of my own creation, a fitting punishment for a mass murderer, but that did not mean others had to suffer for eternity for my mistakes.”
Tumblr media
Frisk lets out a sad empathetic sigh at their response.
"You do remember that we were only children when we fell down in the mountain, right? Our small brains weren't fully formed...and it's clear that not every timeline is exactly the same, but it seems like it's a similar story every time...,"
"I don't know about you, but my first monster was Flowey, he was quite scary once he pulled down his smiling mask, he told me 'in this world, it's kill or be killed'...he truly believed that nonsense,"
"I listened to his 'warning', but I never felt the urge to hurt anyone, I just wanted...to play,"
"But I can see now how a different Frisk would believe in those words, it didn't help that everyone was literally trying to murder us, they were very frightening, I understand if it led you to believe they were untrustworthy and just as bad as Flowey said they were,"
"Again, we were just children, in a scary and strange place, being led along by a force we didn't truly understand, with power that allowed us to become desensitized to death... ....and well, your guilt is very telling,"
"I apologize...I'm rambling...I've had a long time to myself to think about these painful things,"
"Tra la la...I just hope you someday find your peace,"

I agree I've been a part of many different fandoms and the hate people have for not just Billy but for those of us who love him and ship him with Steve is just pretty unbelievable at points it borders on obsessive with some of them.
I'd say the two worst times for this was during season 3 when there was a lot of Billy stuff around and surprisingly right after season 4. Even though Billy wasn't even really in season 4. I guess the show picked up a lot of new younger viewers or something because I feel like the vitriol amped up a lot towards him and us. I also think events that have gone in the real world in recent years have played a part in why Billy is more hated now than he ever was.
There was definitely people that hated Billy and hated us after season 2 but they just didn't seem as bad or as loud about it as they often are now. I think there are people who see Billy as an abusive racist and nothing more and they've decided to label anyone who thinks any deeper about this fictional character as supporting abuse and racism.
Never mind the fact that any of the scenes having to do with Billy and Lucas are clearly open for interpretation. Regardless of what the Duffers intended the scenes with Billy and Lucas or Billy and Max aren't clear cut just one way. More importantly Dacre himself specifically said he didn't see Billy as racist just that he was protecting Max ("if it were any other kid bothering her he would have reacted the same way") therefore he wasn't playing him that way and it clearly impacted how Billy came across on screen.
There's also the fact that many of us relate to Billy and his circumstances. Like Billy I grew up in an abusive family and because of that was a very angry person as a teenager. I don't get why so many in the ST fandom can't find a single ounce of empathy or ability to grasp that so many of us see ourselves in this hurting abused kid. They'll sympathize with Max and Eddie all day long but never Billy and never those of us who relate to him. Many of who are real world abuse victims/survivors.
Tbh I also put some of the blame on the Duffers for how the fandom is because look at how they've treated Billy. Not having anyone even talk about rescuing him in season 3, making him out to be monster at the end of season 4, talking about him like a villain in interviews. Them killing Billy off was hard enough to watch but the way they've basically written him off as this 2D 80's villain who deserved all the bad he got has been worse. They've basically used Billy to kind of vent out their frustrations on their childhood bullies and the fandom has used all of this to validate their hatred of Billy.
Even after season 3 people were literally celebrating the fact that he was killed off and to this day there is a portion of the ST fandom who say he got what he deserved. An abused, angry, teenager who didn't have any kind of support system. Who had no idea what the hell was even happening to him. Who gave his life to save everyone else. Deserved to die in one of the worse ways imaginable? I mean are you fucking kidding me?
And I'm not telling anyone they aren't allowed to dislike Billy there's plenty of characters I don't like either but what I don't get is the intense concentrated effort to hate on this character and the people who love him. The inability to grasp the fact that it's okay if you dislike him but it's also just as okay if other people feel differently. Someone liking a fictional character that you don't doesn't make them a bad person.
I've also seen people in the ST fandom try and humanize characters like Brenner and Henry or defend characters like Kali and El when all of them have done messed up stuff including murder. During season 4 I saw so many ST fans applauding El smashing Angela's face in with the skate when she could have literally killed her.
Meanwhile the worst thing we saw Billy do was be a dick to Max, grab and push Lucas, and his fight with Steve (which Steve started). Which both events that happened at the Byers happened after Billy had been attacked by his dad, was in a venerable state, and knew he'd be in deep shit if he didn't bring Max back home with him. He told Lucas "you're so dead Sinclair" which some in fandom have taken as a literal threat against Lucas' life but 1. It's said in anger after Lucas kicked him in the balls. 2. I don't think Billy was going to. He literally could have punched Lucas in the face the minute he grabbed him (look at his fight with Steve) and he hardly did anything at all. I'm not excusing Billy just these are the facts that so many in the ST fandom love to twist for their own narrative.
I just don't get why almost every other character on the show is allotted some kind of understanding for their mistakes but never Billy. I can't think of a single thing Billy did that warrants the kind of hate people have for him. Even if he was racist as some people believe he was. He was a teenager in the 80's who had a horrible, abusive, piece of shit role model for a father. Where exactly was he supposed to learn to be better and be more open minded? Cause it certainly wasn't going to happen living with his father. The fact is Billy could have grown and matured as a person. He was only 18 years old still living at home barely having experienced life yet. In most ways he was still just a kid. Honestly I feel sorry for those who refuse to see Billy as anything more than just a villain because it makes me wonder how they look at and judge people in the real world.
Sorry this got insanely long I didn't mean to hijack your post. I just always have a lot to say when it comes to Billy.
The hate for Billy and Harringrove genuinely perplexes me. I have shipped and loved characters that kinda deserve the hate they get but these two? Are you serious? In the grand scale of things they're saints

That Kind of Love Never Dies_Chapter 1

This is for writing event @tvdspngirl314
My quote is "That kind of love never dies"
Dean x Reader series (just 2 parts)
This chapter words: ~5k
Series warning:
Angst, fluf, smut, angry Dean, hurt Reader, hurt Dean, there's some more but I hate spoilers so I insist on "Angst & Hurt"
Tumblr media
It all started with a stupid argument at home. What was it? Three months ago? Sam couldn't remember the exact date but after years, it was the first time this awkward coldness between Dean and Y/n had started to build. He could remember the first time he and his brother came across Y/n like it was yesterday, they were hunting a very nasty creature who used to kidnap young and lonely women at night, then got them wrapped in ropes and ties on a bed in a warehouse to rape, torture and feed on their blood until the victim either died or accepted to turn into one of his kind.
Sam could remember the helplessness in people's eyes too. The pain of the victims' families, the frustration and anger on cops' faces when no one could find the criminal yet, even after the sixth missing girl.
"Sammy, he just kidnapped another girl. And I think I know where he's gonna take her. Let's hunt this son of a bitch."
When Dean was saying that, Sam never expected him to fall in love with the woman they would save that night. Well, unfortunately they weren't fast enough to prevent any harm to the girl. When they arrived and Dean killed the nasty creature, Y/n was almost dead. The monster had already raped her, tortured her … and when he felt the hunters enter the place, he drank almost all of her blood, to gain more energy to fight. So as always, Dean was up to blaming himself. Of course only in his own eyes, not anyone else's.
"Call Cas to come home. Tell him it's an emergency."
Dean told his brother when he finally could get Y/n out of those ropes. And Sam knew he was right. At that point, no one could save Y/n unless God or his angels. Maybe she was not so lucky coming across a nasty supernatural creature like that but she was lucky enough that Cas arrived just on time and healed her. However, angels can only heal physical wounds. But Y/n was hurt much more than that. She couldn't just move on from the things that the bastard had put her through. Even after Cas tricked her brain to forget some certain things, she still had bad nightmares and had this dark shade of hopelessness in her eyes. Soon, she started to eat and talk less and less. And Dean just couldn't let her go. He really wanted to fix all of that for her but she kept shutting him out… until the depression hit her. It was so bad that Cas felt the need to tell them to prepare themselves for her death. Because after all those days and unlike everything else in their lives, The Winchesters were already used to her presence around them; like the way a lonely person can get used to a wounded cat more and faster than anyone else.
"I'm not gonna hunt until I'm sure she can live her normal life." When Dean stated that, Sam really thought he was joking. But after a few days he started to believe it. Dean truly would do anything to keep her alive. From cooking vegetables to laughing at his own dad jokes in front of Y/n to make her smile. That was when Sam started to feel that they can be more than a random hunter/rescued victim relationship! It felt like his brother had finally found his motivation in life: "Saving Y/n."
Gradually Y/n started to respond to this special attention from Dean with trust and smiles. Soon they became a power couple that could motivate each other so easily that sometimes Charlie would call them out. And honestly Sam had no problem with it. In fact Y/n had become his other sister.
"My God, Dean! You're burning up!" It was two day after a werewolf hunt in which Dean had got hurt. At first it was just some scratches on his arms and chest. Yet as the time passed, more symptoms started to appear: headache, pain, fever, cold sweat, even nose bleeding and before they could figure it out, Dean fell unconscious. Apparently the claws of the werewolf were poisonous. However Sam wasn't sure. The only thing he got no doubts about was the fact that it was already too late. Dean couldn't make it to the hospital. So either Sam had to do anything possible to save him or Cas should've picked up his God damn phone.
"No. no, no, no, no. Dean … Dean!!!"
That was when Sam got to hear Y/n's helpless cry and see her true feelings. She was already in love with his brother.
Luckily, unlike typical love stories; no one died that night. Sam's antidote worked. And Dean opened his eyes an hour later.
"Sammy … Y/n?" As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Y/n grabbed his face and put her thirsty lips on her beloved hunter's, letting the tears stream down on her face… and then his.
"Never do that again." She begged, breaking the kiss, her trembling hands holding Dean's face so she could look into his eyes.
Sam couldn't stop his smile remembering how cute they were. Y/n literally had Dean wrapped around her little finger, to the point he accepted to teach her how to hunt and soon she was part of their team too. Until … a few months ago. After two years of them being constantly close to each other, Sam could tell something was off when Dean started to go out without eating breakfast with Y/n. Of course she got suspicious after the third time and that was when their endless arguments started.
"Why don't you just tell me what's wrong?"
"Because nothing is wrong, Y/n."
Actually there was. Something was VERY wrong. Anyone could tell that just by the change in Dean's eyes whenever he wanted to look at Y/n. Day by day he was getting more quiet and cold. Now they didn't even eat pie together or watch movies late at night. And Sam couldn't ignore his brother being grumpy or drunk on hunts, not anymore.
"Ok man, I've had enough. You either tell me what's wrong with you or next time I won't make any excuses so you can leave Y/n out of our hunt plans. I'm serious, Dean, I'll tell her the truth." He finally said, when they were alone in the impala, on their way to do their next hunt.
"She wants more."
"More?"
"Yeah. Sometimes it's like she sees more in me. She thinks we can have a different life. There's no need for any saying, I can see it in her eyes whenever we accidentally come across some family at a diner that try to feed their kids or people's wedding photos whenever we go to talk with some witnesses or whoever during the research! Sometimes she even looks up wedding dresses or kid stuff on the net!" Dean blew his anger out of his nostrils and sighed, shaking his head.
"Wow." Sam couldn't find the proper word to say but he couldn't hide his surprised face either.
"What?" Dean gave him an annoyed look.
"I mean …" Sam chuckled. "… are you telling me you're actually angry with her for imagining the things you always dream about?!"
"Sam …"
"No, really. I'm just curious. What's wrong with you, man?" Sam asked genuinely, waiting for an answer.
"What's wrong with me?! You think something is wrong with me just because I'm the rational one in this relationship; who's actually able to see the difference between a dream and the reality?"
Yeah, anyone could take that earnest speech, but not Sam. He'd seen and knew enough about his brother.
"What's the reality? Aren't you and Y/N living that dream life already?"
"What?! No. No … that's not the same." Dean shook his head.
"Really? How is it not? It's been two years, Dean. You two are constantly with and/or around each other. Always worried when the other one is in trouble and still looking at one another like there is nothing in the world that can make you happy as much as this relationship. So … excuse me if I won't buy your pretty speech; man ." Sam said, Rolling his eyes.
"Ok, let's say you're right but ... is it gonna be like that forever? With all the supernatural crap that we have to take care of … and the constant danger and chaos in this hunter life we have… I …"
"You what?" Sam asked when Dean didn't finish his sentence. He was lost in his thoughts, staring at this unknown point in the depth of the road. Finally he blew out his despair.
"I just can't let her fall for the things I know I can't provide for her. It's not fair, Sammy. It's not fair to lock her up in this dark life with me just because she loves me … especially while I know there is a whole bright future out there waiting for her."
"Here we go, the old Dean's self-doubt" Sam thought to himself as he took a deep breath before finding the best words to wake his brother up from this nightmare
"Yeah, I know but I don't think it's your call. If Y/n wants to go to hell with you instead of living in heaven with someone else, it's her choice. Not your responsibility. Right?"
Dean shook his head while his lips curved up a little to fake a smile but he never answered or said anything about that conversation ever again. He kept his silence for like three weeks … until someone new showed up: "Gary Smith". A tall man with the most stylish haircut and the most perfect teeth and smile.
They saw him for the first time at their hangout bar, as the new bartender who almost jumped in Y/n's way as soon as they entered the bar.
"Oh my God, bunny! Is this really you?" He said, pulling her in his embrace. Like she was the long time missing piece of his beloved puzzle!
"Bonny? You're wrong. Her name is Y/n." Dean said, pretty annoyed by the way Gary tightened his arms around Y/n's little shoulders, making him chuckle.
"No, uh … it's just a nickname." Y/n said as soon as the guy let her go.
"Yeah, actually the most fitting nickname that I could think of. I mean … you have to agree. She got the most cute little ears in the world." The guy explained, chuckling and pulling on her little star earring. Well, if Sam wanted to be honest, he had to agree with him. He never paid any attention to it before but now that Gary mentioned it, he could tell Y/n's ears were truly small.
"I see … So … I guess this means you were close friends?" Dean said, already hating the way Y/n e's blushed with hearing her old nickname.
"Uh … well, no. Actually more than that." The guy grinned, ruffling his own hair while he was awkwardly laughing and looking at Y/n. Just like a proud embarrassed teen!
"We used to date." Y/n said.
*oh* Sam tried his best not to let that stupid grin sit on his lips but Dean's frown and his sudden heavy silence didn't let him do so.
"Yeah. We are kinda each other's first. Like … you know? prom date." The man added, giving Y/n a wink while Dean's gaze was still locked on his large arm around her shoulders.
"Yeah. It's been years, Gary."
"I know. But believe me, bunny. you still look the same." He said, bending to put a kiss on her right cheek.
Dean would kill him. Sam just knew that. Because his brother's eyes were already burning with jealousy.
"By the way, don't you wanna tell me who these gentlemen are ?" The guy asked Y/n, giving her his softest smile.
"Of course. This is Sam and this is Dean. My colleagues who are my friends now. I live in their place."
After they met, everything got even more complicated. Y/n, the girl who was still trying to get old-happy-days Dean back suddenly stopped whatever she used to do. No more complains, no waiting at nights to see Dean before going to bed, no more effort to get involved in hunts, no nothing. And despite what Dean had claimed before, it was making Dean even more frustrated. Day to day he and Y/n were getting colder towards each other and there was nothing he could do to fix it. That was what made him even more furious. Sam already knew all of that and he still had to live with both of those grumpy faces. So last night when they began to fight, he could see this was coming: Y/n left the bunker after Dean let some hurtful things out of his mouth, just because he didn't know how to deal with all the heartache anymore. He now was convinced that Y/n didn't love him anymore. Yet the next day after drinking whatever strong drink they had, he begged Sam to come with him. Apparently Jodie texted Dean about Y/n being in her place for that night. Just to make sure that her crazy step son won't sell his soul over a tracking spell! So Dean almost begged his brother to be there with him, cause Dean believed that as much as Y/n didn't care about him, she still respected Sam and cared about him. Like a little sister and her elder brother.
So here they were, In Jodie's living room, in front of her and Y/n.
"Considering your sleepy eyes, I think we caught you at bed time, huh?" Sam asked, checking Y/n's obvious eye bags.
"Who says that? I'm totally good, Sam."
She said with a small smile, looking much more in control and stronger than before. So Sam knew it was a lie. Y/n Just had made her peace with what had happened last night. The realization۹ kicked Dean in the gut. Y/n always used to be stronger and bolder when she got hurt.
"I'm gonna make some coffee for us. Why don't you guys take a seat till I come back?"
Jodie interrupted, to ease the heavy and sharp silence that suddenly had fallen over all of them.
Y/n gave her a smile.
"Of course."
It was so fake. Her smile didn't even curl her lips completely. She was still badly hurting.
Sam swore in his head when he looked over his brother who sank silently into the nearest seat at the end of the table like a broken shell that he was too . One of Dean's hands was in the pocket of his jacket, the other formed a fist on the table. Sam was sure Dean knew it too. He knew everything was almost past saving. "Almost". Sam tried to stick to their small chance.
"So …" He cleared his voice before he put some (semi fake) hope into his words."You're … you're gonna come back home today or did Alex and Claire made you promise them otherwise?" He laughed and tried to make it funny but the truth was he asked this for Dean's sake, knowing he already was struggling to find the words … to let Y/n know how much he wanted her back … to ask her to come back.
"To be honest … I don't think I can live in the bunker anymore." Y/n said and as Dean's head snapped up to look at her in horror, she raised her hand to stop his (likely) protests.
"I applied for a job 3 weeks ago and to my surprise they called me this morning to tell me I'd actually got it."
*What?*
No one had to ask it. The question was already hung in the air. She snored mockingly in her nose. "Perfect timing, right?"
She moved her gaze from her interlocked fingers on the table to Dean's eyes.
He didn't answer, he didn't move but he got tense. Still staring back at Y/n.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Sam asked, once again saving Dean from asking the question he was itching to ask with some other words that for sure couldn't be nice.
"I wanted to but I didn't think I could actually get it and even if I did, I never figured out how to tell you. Besides, I never considered the "move out" option before..." She looked at Sam for a second before she turned her gaze on Dean. "... But I actually appreciate that you bring it up. I think now I can take the advice. I'm gonna move on."
Sam's heart dropped in his stomach when he heard those words. Because he knew what this meant. It felt something like having to watch Dean get stabbed in the heart.
"Is this … because of that Bartender?" Dean asked, staring deadly at Y/n with his bloodshot eyes. He was already chewing on his bottom lip. And Sam knew a heavy storm was on its way to hit them.
"I don't want to answer that question."
*shit*
"Why? Because you can't just simply say no?" Dean scolded and Sam could see how it pushed on Y/n boundaries.
"No. Because it's not your fucking business and it's not Gary's business either. But at least he knows his limits."
*well, fuck*
"By "limits" you mean when he drools on you just because for God knows whatever the reason, you started to wear leather jackets when we go there?"
"WHAT?!"
*Oh, fuck* Sam thought to himself, watching Y/n rise from her seat.
"You think … you really think that I …" she laughed nervously and Sam could tell she would punch Dean in the face if she wasn't a sweet, super nice person.
"How you can even …"
"I can even what, Y/n? Are we now going to pretend like I'm a blind man who can't see how you got attracted to your ex again? Did you really think I couldn't see how your hands were shaking when his filthy face lighted up by seeing you for the first time after all these years?"
Sam wanted to interrupt him or at least leave the room but everything was happening so fast.
"So what? Why and since when you care about my private life?"
"Since you stopped drinking bunker's beers just because you rather drink those crappy poisonous cocktails he makes at the bar!"
Dean was on his feet now as well. And despite his will, Sam couldn't stop his smile. He never saw his brother this jealous before. It was fun.
"Poisonous? … You … of all people, you are the one who says this? cause as much as I know, you're the one who puts dormitives in my guest's food so the poor guy gets tired and can't spend his time with me!"
"Yeah, because your poor guy is not welcomed in MY PLACE!" Dean yelled, punching the table with so much power that made everyone almost jump out of their skins.
"Dean!" Finally Sam interrupted but as soon as he stood up, someone rang the doorbell and Sam could hear Jodie welcoming someone inside.
"Guys … I know it's not my place to interfere but you two really need to sort things out somewhere private … of course that's when both of you can be much calmer than this."
"No, we have nothing to say or to talk about, anymore. Your brother was clear enough when he said he wants me to move out, so I'll move out. And that's it."
Y/n declared, looking at Sam to resist any eye contact with Dean, probably to make him even more crazy.
"And that's it? You wanna ignore that part where you were too eager and ready to accept that suggestion and leave the bunker instantly like your pants were on fire?!"
Dean retorted while Y/n was shaking her head like she couldn't believe him.
"Whose pants are on fire?" Jodie interrupted as soon as she re-entered the room with the coffees she'd made, this time a man was with her. Y/n's guy. The famous bartender.
*Oh, No!*
Sam sighed, closing his eyes for a second so the guy couldn't read his face.
"Obviously not mine." Dean hissed through his teeth, looking first at the guy and then at Y/n with such a disappointment and rage that no one could ignore.
"Hey, what's wrong?" The guy asked, choosing the worst spot to stand on: right next to Y/n.
"My typical life I guess. Nothing's new." She mumbled in reply to him but her eyes were still on Dean.
"No, nothing is wrong with your life, Y/n. It's about your choices. That's what's wrong with you. As always." Dean said bitterly. As sharp as a knife, as cold as ice. Sam could see how it drained color from Y/n's face.
"You better watch your mouth, buddy." The Gary guy warned Dean and Sam could tell that if it wasn't for the sudden thud sound that stole everyone's attention, Dean would throw a fight right there. But …
"Y/n!" Jodie almost screamed. Y/n was laying on the floor, seemingly unconscious.
"Oh, God." Sam said as Jodie rushed to her.
"Y/n? … Y/n can you hear me?"
As she sat next to her, Gary's fingers already were on Y/n's carotid pulse point. So Sam couldn't stop himself from looking up at his brother, who was still standing where he was. In shock.
"Oh, shit!" Gary's worried voice made Sam check Y/n's pale face again but Jodie was the one to dare ask the question which was on everyone's minds.
"What? What's wrong?"
"Her pulse ... too faint." He said before turning to Dean: "Is she bleeding?"
"Bleeding?" Dean blinked and mumbled in confusion.
If it was up to Sam, he'd ask *What bleeding?* & *Why are you asking this from my brother?*
"Oh my. You still don't know. Do you?" Gary sneered.
"Know what? What's happening?" Jodie was freaking out now and Sam actually felt the same. He didn't like the way this stranger pretended like he knew her better than them. However what happened next was much more unexpected. And … rude!
To everyone's surprise, the guy reached out to Y/n's jeans and drew his hand between her legs but before anyone could react, he spread her legs open so it could be possible for everyone to see that big red stain there. Then he raised his hand. It was all wet and red in blood!
"She's having a miscarriage." He revealed.
Sam's gaze instantly caught Dean's ... Burning. Dean was burning inside with his heavy silence.
"Don't you worry. It's not mine." Gary added more fuel to that hell with such a mocking tone, staring right back at Dean's eyes.
Now Sam could feel it. The storm was there: rising in his brother's roar!
Before Sam could've moved any muscles, Gary was already pinned to the wall, Dean's hands on his now-ripped-out collar.
"Dean, no!" Sam jumped in, trying to catch his brother's arm before his fist make any contact with the guy's nose but all he could do was changing the direction of the punch which landed on Gary's shoulder, making a painful cracking sound.
"I said no … Dean, stop it." Sam had to literally cage Dean in his arms so the furious man couldn't tear Gary apart.
"Get off me, Sam. This son of a bitch has to learn his place."
"Enough!" As Dean just broke himself free, Jodie's scream stopped everyone in their tracks.
"It's enough!" Jodie warned all three men, pointing at them one by one.
"You want to fight? Not here. Not in my house!"
"But ..."
As soon as Dean opened his mouth to protest, Jodie cut him:
"And you … you should know Y/n is pregnant with your twins. So … you'll be a responsible man who will try his best to save them or you can get the hell out of here and never come back!"
"What?" Sam was too shocked to suppress his reaction while Dean couldn't even find any words to say. His confused look darted between Jodie's face and Y/n's figure while his parted lips kept moving without making any noise, just like a dying fish on the shore!
"I promised her not to tell anyone but it was a promise under normal conditions, not this." Jodie sighed, struggling to keep her emotions under control. Sam saw the worry in her frown. Like a real mother, worried for her children. However it was nothing in comparison to his brother's blank eyes and pale face.
"Dean, It's ok. We just need to take her to hospital. … it's ok, man. I promise."
He had to grab Dean by his jacket, as his brother was struggling to process all of these in his head.
"Come on, man. We got no time. Do I need to do this alone or you'll …"
"Get the car, Sammy."
It was just a simple sentence. Yet it had enough power to make Sam's heart sank. Since Dean had put the car keys in his hand saying that, Sam couldn't stop thinking about that tone. Dean never had called Baby a "car" In years. And Sam had never heard that crack in his voice since their Dad's death.
"You ok?" He finally let himself ask, two hours after they arrived at the hospital.
"I want to be." Dean closed his eyes and put his head against the cold wall, letting the dim light to darken the shadows under his eyes.
"I'm sure she'll be good. She's strong, Dean. You know that."
He smiled and Sam looked away not to watch him. He knew that smile. Dean used to give him that, whenever everything was gone so wrong that Dean couldn't promise him anything good. Like when both of them were still kids. Hungry, cold and all alone in a rusty motel room where John had left them on their own for a one day long hunt but then a heavy snow had crashed the roads and kept them apart for half a week. So Dean had to wash the dishes and do the laundry in the motel to rent the room for another day and provide some snacks so they wouldn't starve to death. But after three days, the hotel managers didn't want them to be around. And Sam could vividly remember that smile on his brother's face when he asked: *Where should we go then?*
"You were always such a father material. You know?"
Sam admitted with a broken smile on his face.
"You were always responsible, kind and caring with me as a kid. And I can't imagine anyone who deserves to be a father more than you."
Dean took a deep breath and opened his eyes without looking at him: "But I don't want ... I really can't, Sammy."
All, it certainly wasn't the response Sam had expected. He used to believe that Dean would never turn down any chance to start a family with Y/n. Especially after everything in the world was back to normal.
"Are you kidding me? You always wanted this."
"No …" Dean finally turned his gaze to meet his brother's confused eyes. "No, Sammy. Not like this. I don't want to raise another kid without his mom. I'm not that strong anymore."
Dang. Once again Sam's heart dropped in his stomach. Dean was really helpless.
"Mr. Winchester?"
Dean was on his feet as Sam just realized the doctor's presence.
"It's me."
Sam prayed for any good news as doctor took a glance of Dean and fixed his glasses on his face …
"To be continued …"

Owl House Fanfiction: I love The Found Family Trope!
Tumblr media
Posted on Ao3 here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/29417493
Eda had gotten used to a lot of different ways of waking up after her getting her curse.
The first few times it happened, she'd unfortunately routinely woken up to find herself naked. (Titan, was she grateful when she'd finally found a spell that made her clothes change with her and didn't have to keep dumpster diving or "borrowing" clothes)
Once that was taken care of, her post transformation wake ups were slightly more comfortable, if predictable. She'd come too laying on the ground, her body's usual aches, pains, and stiffness seemingly doubled to the point where she could barely move. If she was in someone's house she'd likely be surrounded by overturned furniture and fixtures all covered in claw and bite marks. If she was lucky any people that might've been there would've already run and hid. If she wasn't….well, she knew a good amount of healing magic and potions.  No matter how much damage she might have caused, most people wouldn't turn down having their injuries taken care of.
And after that, things changed. Even if the person she was living with didn't kick her out, she could still see how they acted differently. They avoided eye contact with her, didn't stay in the same room with her for longer than two seconds, and she couldn't help but notice how they always seemed to lock their doors at night, nevermind whether she'd taken her elixir or not. Needless to say, when that happened she was gone before a week even passed. Someone being afraid of her or thinking she was a freak she could handle. But she preferred that to them tiptoeing around it and pretending to be okay with her when they were secretly scared.
Considering all of that, waking up safely in her nest with a bottle of elixir in her mouth was a new experience.
She wasn't that shocked once she'd gotten the whole story. She'd never explained what her elixir did to King, and Luz thinking it was some special magic boosting potion sounded just like her. But what really surprised her were their reactions.
After making sure Hooty was put back up and okay, they'd come by to check on her. Luz, having worried she might not be feeling well, had brought her a bowl of some strange human concoction called "chicken soup" that she'd gotten from a can in her junk collection. ("It's no magic potion but my mom. always made me chicken soup when I wasn't feeling well.) She'd also gotten her a person sized pillow that had the image of some male human character with spiky hair on it and with a little work slid it beneath Eda in her nest. The thing may have looked weird but it was comfy as heck and felt great for her sore back. Meanwhile King, still looking regretful about snatching her elixir, had fixed her a mug of apple blood as a peace offering.
While the mixture of alcohol and salty human bird water helped soothe some of her pain, Eda couldn't help but notice her apprentice and her housemate still standing off to the side of her nest. Both of them simply stood and watched as she ate and drank, staying oddly silent and staring at her as if she might disappear mid slurp.
It was almost a little unnerving. She hadn't expected either of them to be this quiet after discovering her curse. She figured Luz would've had her usual million questions about anything magical while King would be demanding to know why she hadn't told him before now.
Then again, it wouldn't surprise her if they were still too in shock. After all, while she had never been able to witness it herself, she knew her cursed form could be pretty terrifying to see. One person she'd lived with had been so freaked out by it, he hadn't been able to make any noise except terrified squeaks for 3 days.
Plus, the way they found out was pretty sudden. Sure, King shouldn't have stolen her elixir but it wasn't like he knew what it was for or why she took it. In fact, a part of her hoped he'd never find out.
But the cat was off the staff now. She knew that the two of them must still be curious, otherwise they wouldn't still be there. So it was time to witch up and deal with it.
Eda drank the last few dregs of soup from her bowl and drained the rest of her apple blood for a little courage before turning to King and Luz.
"Alright you two. I know you probably want to know more about all this. So, let's have it."
Luz and King took a moment to look at each other, almost seeming to have a full conversation in two seconds before turning back to her.
"No thanks." Luz said.
"Yeah, we're good." King agreed.
Eda blinked in confusion. "What? What do you mean?"
"We don't need to know anymore." Luz explained. "This whole curse thing seems kind of personal and besides you already told us all the important parts. So we don't need to know anything else."
Eda stared at her in stunned silence. She looked to King and was even more surprised to see him nod in agreement.
To say this was not what she'd been expecting would be an understatement.  Where was the yelling at her for putting them in danger? The demanding answers? The blaming her for not telling them about her curse before all this? Heck, the two of them didn't even look that upset. They just still had those weirdly concerned looks on their faces. Maybe they just worried she'd still be mad about them stealing her elixir and were too scared to bring it up.
But that brought another issue to mind. And while she might have become pretty fond of those two, she knew it would only be a matter of time until it came up.
Ignoring the tight feeling in her chest, Eda said slowly. "Listen…..if you guys want to find somewhere else to stay, I understand."
They both became bug eyed.
"What?!" Luz cried.
"What are you talking about?!" King asked.
Eda looked away from them, doing everything she could to keep the wetness in her eyes from turning into full blown tears.
Suck it up. She thought. It's not like you haven't done this before.
"Luz, you could probably see if one of those Hexside kids might be willing to let you stay with them, and King I-."
"You're kicking us out?!" Luz yelled.
"No!" King scrambled into the nest, got onto his knees  and clasped his paws together. "Please Eda, don't!  I'll never be able to find anyone else willing to  let me live with them without paying! If this is about stealing the elixir, I'm sorry! I swear I won't steal anything you don't tell me to!"
Eda frowned in confusion and turned back to them. "What? No. I mean, yes King, if you steal from me again I'll turn you into a tiny fur rug, but I just meant….you guys really don't want to move out?"
They both looked shocked at her question. "No." "Why would we?"
"Why would- how about  because I could have killed you two last night?" She felt bile begin to build in her throat and not the magical kind. "I could have eaten one of you like I did the snaggleback!"
"Oh come on Eda, it wasn't that-."
"Luz." Eda said, her voice hard. She didn't have it in her right now to deal with Luz sunshine attitude.
Luz must have noticed because she sighed and said. "Okay, look Eda. I'm not going to lie and say that today wasn't terrifying or that I wasn't afraid but….Eda, once I realized that the monster that was chasing after us was you? All I could think about was how I could help or what I could do to get you back. I didn't want to lose you."
Eda stared at her apprentice in complete shock. In her past talks with her living mates after they discovered her curse, they always talked about them . Their safety, their terror at her transformation, their discomfort at having Eda stay around after what happened. But Luz was thinking about her and whether she was okay.
It felt….weird. But in a good way. Kind of like a lot of things Luz did come to think of it.
Eda looked down to where King was still sitting in her nest. "And what about you King? You aren't freaked out by my little secret?"
King shrugged. "Eh, at first it was horrifying but after thinking about, its actually pretty cool. You're a demon just like me! Which technically makes you one of my subjects!"
Eda rolled her eyes. Typical King.
"And, since you are one of my subjects…."
"King, I swear to Titan, if you-."
".....than, that also means you fall under my protection." King finished. He walked over to Eda, climbed into her lap where he curled up into a ball. "If anyone wants to hurt you, they'll first have to go through me!"
Eda couldn't hide the amazement on her face as she gazed down at King. Then she felt something softly touch her shoulder. She looked over and saw Luz had placed a hand on her and was giving her a loving look.
"We're not going anywhere Eda. Us weirdos have to stick together, remember?"
Eda couldn't believe what she was hearing. Even after they both spent the night being terrorized by her and knew about her curse, they still insisted on sticking around.
They weren't going to leave her.
Luz suddenly frowned and looked at her worriedly. "Hey, what's wrong?"
It took Eda a moment to realize that there was a tear streaming down her face. She quickly wiped it away.
"Uh, no Luz, I just, uh, really loved that soup you brought me. There any chance there's some more?"
"I'll go dig through trash for another can!" Luz excitedly sprinted out the door.
Eda looked down at King. "Would my so-called "King" be willing to fix his new subject another apple blood?"
King stood up from her lap and stretched. "I suppose its what any humble ruler would do for his wounded subject." King took her mug and scrambled out of her nest and out the door.
Eda sighed fondly and layed back on her spiky hair human pillow, taking in the sight of the many light orbs that now dotted her ceiling thanks to her apprentice.
We're not going anywhere Eda.
If anyone wants to hurt you, they'll first have to go through me
Eda chuckled. "Thanks you two

Not just a Monster
Warning: drinking
19: Another Infected
Ji-Soo laid on the recovery table fast asleep. She was still kinda pale but that will soon go away once she starts healing. The group managed to find antibiotics if she got an infection.
I would have given her some of my stuff but it burned up in the car explosion. I've been in here for a while, making sure nothing went wrong. Watching to see if her side was turning red, or started to swell.
It could get infected easily and-spread throughout her body if not watched or treated carefully. Soon Jae-Heon came in, I smiled. He was pretty badass for a man that worships God and is also a great swordsman.
( please note that this is not meant to offend anybody, my religion is Christianity )
He took a seat, laying down some white candles he brought with him. checking over Ji-Soo. I could tell something was going on between them but neither announced it yet. I guess in a world like this it was hard to.
" What are the candles for?" I questioned but waited as he lit them with a lighter. Clasping his hands together he bowed his head and began to Pray. Watching him, I haven't prayed in a long time.
I use to think what was the point, thinking it wouldn't do any good since I did a terrible sin. But seeing how Jae-Heon is still keeping his faith even after killing monsters it was the same difference.
Killing is killing.
If I ask for forgiveness will it help? will I finally stop feeling guilty and move on? Will I be able to forgive myself? I wish I knew what to do I was uncertain. But I closed my eyes and bowed my head.
Dear lord
I know I shouldn't be asking for your forgiveness... but please lift me of the sin I committed and if possible I could somehow forgive myself someday and in hopes, they can too. let my family Rest In Peace.
I finished reopening my eyes, I jumped a little realizing Jae-Heon was watching me. " God will forgive you Soo-Nico for whatever you've done." He reassured me, I felt my heart was weighing heavy.
I had to ask since he's was the only one that I could talk about religion. " how are you so sure?" Was he going to forgive me? For something as terrible as that? Jae-Heon had a knowing look on his face. " Because he's a merciful God,"
With that answer, I nodded, " I don't mean to pry but what were you praying about." I wanted to ask, I probably seem nosy. I saw him glance at Ji-Soo," for someone to live a long, healthy, happy life."
Now it was my turn to give some words of encouragement. " They will," it was short and simple but effective. Jae-Heon patted my shoulder. " you're a good kid, I'll watch over her. you should go eat something to build up your strength,"
he informed, me I had to laugh, now that he mentioned it I was pretty hungry. Rubbing my stomach I got up, bowing. Leaving the room, heading to go get something to eat.
His words somehow made me feel better. They were having dinner in the day-care-center walking in I had grabbed my plate sitting down beside Hye-in. I guess it was better to eat with people than being alone.
She was happily eating, away I noticed she had a white face mask on. She looked like a puffy marshmallow, it seems like they have all washed up. I needed a wash. Taking my spoon, I scooped some rice and took a bite.
" Ms. Cha, " Hye-In spoke up getting the woman's Attention, She had looked up. " I thought that you were tan but you're just really dirty." Hye-In laughed, I raised an eyebrow.
" Thanks.." Ms. Cha stared at her I couldn't believe she just said that. " I'm saying you look good now." what she didn't look better before?
" I got these masks in the mail. Want one?" Hye-in offered to pulling up her shirt, revealing a couple of packs of face masks. Well, that's one way to hide them.
" No, thanks. I know That I look pretty without it." This earned all kinds of laughs around the room. " wait, Seung-Wan needs it." Byeong-ll point making  Seung-Wan clap back defensively.
I have I admit it was pretty funny, as we chatted, Sun-Young walked up to our table she seemed nervous. I wondered what about it? " I should go outside." Before I could take another bite I stopped looking up at her. What for?
" I think I'm starting to have symptoms." that's when all the attention turned towards her. It was quiet, " I should've told you sooner." Sun-Young had a long face as if she was disappointed for not telling. " I guess I didn't want to believe it. I'm sorry."
No one can blame you it's scary finding out your showing symptoms it's like your life just has been ripped away. It's hard to accept. " I just don't want to put everyone in danger. So I should go before it's too late—"
Ms. Cha, interrupted Sun-Young, " still you shouldn't go outside." She dismissed. " she right. You're still human, you'll die if you go outside." Hye-In agreed. But Jay-Hwan thought otherwise.
" –We can't let her stay here?" I rolled my eyes, " why don't you shut up!" I fussed that's when Eun-Hyuk Entered the room. " why don't we all hold a vote?" Byeong-ll suggested a worried look was plastered on his face.
Then he all turned to us, " just vote how you feel, because this is like... taking part in a murder." I remembered those words, the day Eun-Hyuk guilt trip, everybody, to so they could vote for Hyun-Su to stay for selfish reasons.
But that was over and done with now, " I vote she gets to stay in the arcade." He raised his hand, I did also Even Seung-wan, " Me, too. Maybe she'll be able to hold out as Hyun-Su did?"
After that everyone raised their hands. I was Surprised when Eun-Hyuk's hand was raised, he has changed, well a lot of them have. It looked like Sun-Young was about to cry.
Soon everyone said their goodbyes, I felt bad she was going to be locked up. But it's what she wanted to keep everyone safe it's better than being outside.
At least they won't discriminate against her as they did to Hyun-Su and now be there for her. Things were changing for better than worse. Hopefully, it stayed that way.
After finishing my food, everybody was in a gloomy mood. They moved around sitting in different seats. " I could definitely use a drink on a day like this," Byeong-ll grumbled moving his pointer fingers around a small candle that was lit.
" There you go again."
I didn't mine alcohol, but it sounds good right about now. Jay-Hwan told putting in one earbud," well, do you think Sun-Young will hold out like Hyun-Su?" Seung-Wan rethought his words he said earlier.
" I hope so. I thought it was just her husband, but her whole life is awful."  Hue-in announced, yeah I remember Suk-Hyun.
" lady you're face is Awful." Eun-Yoo sneered, I had to smirk, shaking my head. " well I think Byeong-all it right. We could definitely use a drink today."
Ms. Cha agreed I hadn't noticed she left, she was carrying a glass cylinder it was a beautiful dark red juice with raspberry in it.
Setting it down on the table unwrapping the top taking off the plastic wrap. " What is this Korean wine? Please tell me it is." Byeong-ll pleaded.
Everyone began to turn their heads to see. Gil-Seob sat up smelling the wine, " it's at least four years old." He looked up at Ms. cha and she nodded. He smelled it again as Eun-Yoo and I came over sitting beside each other.
" it could be as good as Medicine." I smiled, taking a glance at Eun-Yoo we were both too young but I already had some wine before but it wasn't that great but I was willing to give it another try.
Eun-Yoo Leander forward smelling it, " Yu-ri left early by the way." She informed him, she then moved pushing the Cylinder to me. " go on," she smiled I did to smelling it. God that smelled so sweet, my mouth watered.
" shall we finish this off before Eun-Hyuk comes?" She suggested, talking about her brother. Gil-Seob stuck his pinky in the jar getting a taste. We all began to laugh.
But stopped seeing Eun-Hyuk, he had a straight face, considering he was the leader he made the choices around here shit. " speak of the devil." Gil-Seob mumbled.
I was for sure he wouldn't let us drink, but to my shock he did. " just don't forget your duties." Eun-Hyuk then left, turning back around we quickly Gil-Seob began pouring the wine into small cups.
He handed them out giving me and Eun-Yoo one. I gladly Excepted it before I could take a sip Eun-Yoo nudged me. " hey, I saw you and Hyun-Su almost kiss." She whispered in my ear. My eyes went wide, feeling my whole body go stiff.
WHAT!?
I took a sip avoiding her stare, wow this was good and sweet, " don't be embarrassed you guys are cute together might as well hook up before you know what happens." She hinted, smirking at me.
I took another sip, gulping it down. Is this girl talk? From an actual friend? I wanted to be together with him and I confessed in way that was out of my comfort zone.
" Thanks... And yeah, what is better than two Infected's getting together in a world where anything and everything could go wrong." I said lowly enough just for her to hear.
She Seconded that. " his lips were this close!" I wined, showing her pinching my thumb and pointer finger together symbolizing how close were to kissing. I could feel my cheeks heat up, was I getting drunk I only took a few sips I must be lightweight.
I leaned my head on her shoulder kinda upset, she brought her hand up patting my head. " don't worry you'll get your chance, and you'll be the one to do it." She added.
I thought it over, " Me? why me?" My eyes glanced up. She huffed, " because Hyun-Su is too nervous, plus you made the first move he still wouldn't have done it if you didn't say anything." Eun-Yoo finished her cup like me.
I think that is enough Wine for today. I sat my cup down, feeling all fuzzy. Thinking about Hyun-Su's lips they were chapped and dry but it didn't matter I kiss them either way.
I then heard Eun-Yoo laugh loudly. Did I say that out loud? " you did!" She confirmed I was embarrassed hiding my face in my hands. Only me.
"All Alright!" Gil-Seob clubbed his hands together, " who's in for a story?" He recommended, " aren't we too old for stories?" Eun-Yoo stated, he only smiled. " not this one." is all he said
Taking a seat where everyone slept. We followed I laid my head on a pillow. " it was a very dark night with no moon. I lay down between the corpses and pretend to be dead, but u were watching them carefully." so this was a scary, story the Irony huh?
" the remnants of the people's army went inside the building, and the allied forces that were after them fired hundreds of shots at the building." He took the weird stick Jay-Hwan was holding and reenacted the gun fire-making Pow sounds.
He was on his knees saying it loudly but he suddenly stopped. " Hey, I know I saw them go into the building with my own two eyes," he said as if he was so sure. " they all went into the building but nobody came out of the building." I was interested now raising.
" and there were no dead bodies found. How baffling that building." He sucked in a breath looking around as if remembering something. It seems like everyone was on the edge of their seats. " Was here." Everyone gasped, raising hearing this.
" then?" Jay-Hwan gulped, " we have no idea what's buried underneath where we are. That's what I mean."
He Motioned towards the ground, " -what? -jeez." Someone asked not to believe this scared, I mentally laughed the only thing scarier than that is me in this room.
They had no idea, well except Eun-Yoo but then there was a loud bang since everyone was tense they all screamed. An unfamiliar man came running into the room wearing a black soldier suit." He came towards us seeing the jar of raspberry's sticking his hands in it eating them.
We all scooted back, Gil-Seob held up the stick ready to attack if needed. But Yi-kyeong strode in. " who are you, someone yelled. " I think he's a runaway soldier." He continued to eat, as the raspberry juice dripped on the table.
He then looked at his stained red hands, he kept mumbling something I think it was run? But from what? " quickly!" He freaked out then started shaking falling to the floor. What the hell?
Yi-kyeong grabbed onto his collar as the boys got up to help her. They dragged him away. " well that was unexpected." Hye-In blurred out. The girls nodded.
Seeing there was no reason to stay anymore, I got up and left before any more surprises popped up. I said my byes to Eun-Yoo, I figured I should search around for Hyun-Su.

The Heart of Mine-
Miles Fairchild × Reader
*MASTERLIST HERE*
Chapter Twelve REWRITTEN
((This means more chapters to come))
Word Count 2.2k
Warnings: angst and fluff
Tumblr media
You wake up to Miles playing with your hair. Twirling it between his fingers and playing with it. You love your hair getting played with, and Miles knows it. You hum from satisfaction and bury your face deeper into his chest.
Miles "Morning."
"Mmm."
Miles "Someone doesn't want to get up today." He chuckles.
"Mmm-nope."
Miles "Let's just stay in bed until Flora needs us then, how does that sound?"
"So good." You mumbled. You reposition yourself next to Miles and he holds you close. You start to think about the very first time he touched your hand. How it made you feel. And when he first kissed you, how that made you feel. Now here you both are, so in love with each other that you never want to be unconnected from each other. It is crazy how time has passed, and how many things have changed. Before coming here, you felt so alone. All of your past relationships ended badly and were very toxic. Now you are dating your best friend. Oh and the fact that before coming here, you did not believe in the supernatural. And now you fear being killed by an entity that you can't see until it manifests...crazy to think about. Then, you think about everything that has happened to you the duration of you being here and all the pain you have gone through. But you would endure it all over again because you had Miles to help you get through it all. You love Miles more than anyone, so it has all been worth it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you wake back up, you hear loud banging coming from the hall. You quickly turn over to shake Miles up but he was not in bed. You struck up the courage to get out of bed to see what the banging was. You open up the door and peak your head around the corner but nothing, no one was there. Where is that banging coming from? It sounds like it would have been right here...You walk on and down the hallway and get closer to the sound. You walk towards the other side of the hallway: the east wing. You lean your head around the corner and to your absolute relief, you see Miles throwing a ball against the wall. You audibly sigh and he hears you and turns around.
Miles "Oh hey babe!"
"Hey...you scared me. I thought that Quint was doing all the banging."
Miles "Oh I'm sorry!" He walks up to you and cups your cheeks, "I just wanted to blow off some steam and this is the only way I know how without my drumset."
"It's alright, I'm glad that it was you. Where's Flora?"
Miles pecks your lips, "She's outside with Mrs. Grose, she wanted help in the yard."
"Oh that's good!"
Miles "Yeah. I don't want her to hate her, just be aware of her that is all. She is my sister and I have to protect her."
"I know," you kiss his cheek, "you are a great older brother."
Miles smiles, "Thank you babes. Come on, let's eat.." he throws you over his shoulder, "I'm starving!"
When Flora and Mrs. Grose came in, Flora was limping. Miles immediately got furious, as he should be.
Miles "What happened?!"
Flora "I-....I tripped." She said looking at Mrs.Grose.
"Is that right?"
Mrs. Grose "Yes. Poor thing tripped over a rock in the garden."
Miles kneels down to his sister, "Are you telling me the truth?" She takes a deep breath, looks at you and then back at Miles and then bursts out in tears.
Flora "No!" Miles does not respond, he only picks his sister up and takes her to his room.
"What did you do to her, Mrs. Grose? She's just a kid!"
Mrs. Grose "She cut off a flower that was not ready to be cut. I taught her a lesson."
You shake your head, "Y'know. I thought you changed. I thought that you weren't going to beat on anyone anymore, but I guess I was wrong. Because not only have you beaten me numerous times throughout the year of me being here, but now you are beating an 8 year old child. You should be disgusted in yourself."
Mrs. Grose gets in your face, "Listen here, little one. You are not the boss here, I am. I hired you to take care of Flora, not boss me around and tell me how to run things around here."
"I am not telling you how to run things, I am telling you that your punishments are barbaric!"
Mrs. Grose "Yell at me one more time, and you won't wake up tomorrow." You don't know what to say. You just simply back away slowly and head to Miles' room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I opened the door, Flora was in her brother's arm's and softly crying to herself. Miles looks up at me and never had I seen someone look so lost before. I sit down beside them and wait for them to tell me what happened.
Tumblr media
Miles "She pushed her, Y/n. She pushed her because she cut a flower...a fucking flower."
"Where does it hurt, lovebug?"
Flora "Just my knee. I'm okay."
Miles "No it's not okay. I'll fucking kill her! She can hurt me, but not you two. I won't allow it, I am supposed to protect you. That is my job."
Flora "You do, Miles. I am okay. If you do anything, it'll only make things get badder." She isn't wrong. Mrs. Grose hates it when we argue back at her. If Miles goes off, she could seriously hurt him or you and Flora. The best thing is to stay away from her as best as possible.
Miles sighs. You rest your head on his shoulder and he rests his head on top of yours. "I don't know what to do anymore." He said with sorrow in his voice.
"Neither do I. But all I know is that we just need to stick together. No more going anywhere alone. Especially not being alone with her."
Flora "Is that the plan?"
Miles "That's the only plan we have right now so yeah."
Flora "Okay. But what about your couple stuff?"
Miles chuckles, "What about it?"
Flora "Wouldn't it be weird if I saw you two kiss and stuff?"
Miles "You see me kiss Y/n everyday, whatcha talking about?"
Flora "I don't know."
"We aren't going to let you be alone anymore, Flora. So Miles and I will just have to adjust to you being around us 24/7. Which is totally okay."
Miles "Yeah. We love you."
Flora "Love you."
When everything has calmed down, you, Miles and Flora go back into the living room. Mrs. Grose is in the process of cleaning Flora's room so you three get nibbles to snack on. Everything is fine and dandy until Mrs. Grose comes out of the room and see's Flora's knee.
Mrs. Grose "Flora, what happened?!"
Flora "Huh?"
Mrs. Grose "Who hurt your knee darling?!" Flora just looks up at you and you knew immediately that that was not in fact Mrs. Grose who pushed Flora in the greenery. Mrs. Grose looks up at you and you get a chill down your spine, "Did you do this to her?!"
"Wha-no! No of course not!"
Mrs. Grose "You did, didn't you!?"
"No! Flora, tell her the truth!"
Miles "No, enough. You did Mrs. Grose. You took Flora with you to the greenery and she came back with a messed up knee."
Mrs. Grose "I didn't go into the greenery today Miles, what lie are you telling now? Y/n-"
Miles "This isn't a lie! And you are not going to blame her for your abuse!"
Mrs. Grose "I did not harm your sister."
Miles "Maybe, maybe you didn't-"
Flora "Quint.." we all look down at her and Miles grabs a hold of your hand as you start to panic. When he turns to face you, he can see the fear start to build in your star-like eyes, so he pauses the conversation and talks to you directly.
Miles "Babe, hey, look at me. Remember what happens when we get scared, alright?" You quickly nod and sniffle away your fear as you try to clear your mind as fast as possible. Miles looks at Mrs. Grose with disgust.
Miles "Why did you have to kill him, hmm? If you just banished him off the grounds, none of this would be happening."
Mrs. Grose "I..I thought that I was doing what was best at the time."
Miles "Well I bet you regret it now, don't you Mrs. Grose?" All she does is hang her head and places her arms around her torso.
Flora "I forgive you." She said in almost a whisper, making Mrs. Grose look up from the floor.
Mrs. Grose "How could any of you forgive me?"
Miles "I don't. But Flora is still too young to know everything that you have done since coming to this house. She is still kind and loving, unlike you. She has a bright light that shines through the darkness in this house, that keeps the monsters in these walls away. So of course my sister forgives you, Mrs. Grose. I don't think that she has it in her heart to hate anyone, even Quint."
Flora "You are wrong about that.." you snicker because it was so abrupt. She is feisty sometimes and you love that about her.
Miles chuckles and moves a piece of brown hair that had fallen into his sister's eye, "Yeah, no one likes Quint. But you know my point, don't you?"
Mrs. Grose "I do. I love you Flora, I hope you know that. I am far from perfect but I would never harm you! Any of you.." That pissed you off, to say the least. Miles has told you all of the things that she used to do to Miles when he would misbehave as a kid, and you know first hand how dangerous she is. So for her to say that, was only a bribe method to try to convince Flora that she isn't a brutal woman.
"You-"
Miles "Don't. It's useless Y/n. She'll just say what we all want her to say so that we stay quiet. Let's just go outside.." he picks his sister up and she quickly wraps her legs around him as he starts to walk. You attempt to walk but she grabs your hand.
Mrs. Grose "Y/n please, let me talk-" Miles is ready to attack her head on but you speak up before he gets the chance.
"You've had plenty of chances to talk Mrs. Grose. But all you seem to do is lie."
Mrs. Grose "I-"
"And you really had me believing last week..with all the compliments, with all the laughter and the days off..but here we are today and Flora got hurt. Not in my presence, in yours. So don't you dare blame me for hurting Flora, she is not just the little girl I am babysitting, she is like my little sister. So never.blame.me.again." After that, she let go of your hand and you and Miles walked out of the house.

Outside, it is a thunderstorm. And yet you three walked out into the pouring rain, sat down on the grass, and let the cold rain cool you off. It is almost a cleanse that you all needed so desperately in that very moment. You three stay silent for quite awhile, just holding onto each other as the raindrops landed on your skin and clothing.
Miles "It is like God heard our cries for a break in this fucked up house."
Flora "Language!" She said dramatically.
Miles giggles, "Sorry sis. But wouldn't you agree?"
Flora "Yeah, it feels good."
Miles "Babe?"
"Hmm? Yeah."
Miles "You okay? She didn't grab you too hard did she?"
"If she did I forgot."
Miles "..I like that answer." He leans down and kisses your forehead and lays his head back down into the grass.
Flora "Will we always be together?" We look at her and she starts to cry, "I mean..will we always be together..like-"
Miles "Of course we will always be with you Flora."
Flora "No! I mean will us three all be together..forever?" You never realized that she feared this. You never even knew that she feared losing you.
Miles "Yeah, of course."
Flora "Sorry...being here in the rain just made me feel so scared to lose what we have.."
"We are right here, little one. We aren't leaving you, ever. Okay?" You reach over and wipe away her tears just like Miles did.
Miles "Why are you scared, sis?"
Flora "I-not I just thought about you both and I got sad 'cause I love you guys."
Miles "We love you more Flors. Don't cry anymore, alright? I don't like seeing you cry." Flora smiles and stops her tears as best as she could.
Flora "I wonder if the fishies are okay!"
Miles "How about we all go check on em.."
"After you two." You watch the family you've gained walk ahead of you and you realize how blessed you have gotten throughout this hell. You might have endured a lot this past year and a half, but you would go through it all over and over again because you have Miles and Flora by your side. And they are your world.
