#I don’t think some of the rumors are true or atleast a particular few have been blown out of proportion but I don’t know for sure

All the recent “drama” surrounding the PJO cast goes to show how rampant rumors can run when the audience is so young
Like these are 12-17 year olds for the most part and it’s a TV show with real life young teenagers I’m not surprised there’s so much conspiracy and “she secretly hates her” “they’re so fake” and so on and so forth
It’s mostly claims you’d hear in a middle school classroom, whether they’re true or not, I don’t know but watching a bunch of people talking about liking or disliking someone’s video just demonstrates how things work in fandoms where the target audience is reached and interactive
Im not dissing the people spreading the rumors, I was just thinking about how the average age in a fandom affects the show and people who interact with the fandom, and the PJO show just caught my attention

Writober 2k19 || Day 4 || Region Rumors...
Ah the tales of his home region. It’d been soo long since he’d been back in Hoenn yet the tales that linger in his mind are ever present when people ask to be told them. Some of the younger grunts even pester him somewhat about the stories from the region and it’s always a good time.
“So, yer wantin to hear the tales of Hoenn eh? Sure, take a seat.”
With the constant downpour and soft murmurings of his fellow grunts, he reclined back in one of the many worn-out sofas that they’d obtained through the years, all cozied up in this corner of this creaky ole piece o’ wood. He turned on a dim little light they had on the nearby nightstand, barely enough light to make out the features of any person around it, even less so with their facemasks on.
“Now I’m sure plenty of you have heard of Mt. Pyre, yeah? Bout any rumor you hear bout that place is almost guaranteed to be true.”
There really is a lot about that place in particular he’d heard growing up. An it really was all true, how the spirits of the dead wander it and often communicate with their previous owners. How people constantly came back to check on their loved companions, only to be greeted by their spirits.
“Pokemon’s spirits ‘haunt’ the place on the daily. Place has all sorts lively spirits that roam it. I’ve personally come face to face with a few of them, even if briefly. Though what I wanted to talk about really...was that constant storm of sand on Route 111. Y’all know I hail from Lavaridge, so I’ve had to make my way through the desert a few times for folks.”
PW chuckles some as he leans forward, scratchin his neck sheepishly.
“Really should have invested in those Go-Goggles at an earlier point. Though, with what I saw once I had them, I almost wish I hadn’t.”
He sighs outwardly as he watches the faces of his watcher ons, whispers of concern, rhetorical questions, the like. He grinned smugly as he continued on.
“Now, first thing to mention is the obvious differences in cacti. You can pick out a Cacturne from a distance no problem. Avoid those at all costs. Things are dangerous, no doubt about it, even if they’re too lazy to attack you straight on. Though secondly is the rumor about some guardian of the sands, an that one is true. Seen the creature with my own Go-Goggled eyes. Never once tried to approach it and thank goodness it respected that decision itself. Things fast moving, nothin like the rock of the guardian trio. Now reason I mentioned those Cacturnes is because that creature knows em just as well. Seems like it’s got a taste for Cactus despite the quills.”
He scratches his chin some, eyes closed in thought for the moment. It’d been a long while since he’s seen this thing, an he ain’t got nothin but Lijo and his memories about it for proof. Maybe he should look into it more whenever he heads back to visit after some folks. Whenever he did get around to that.
“Now if you see plenty of Cacturne around, an remember you can tell the difference kinda easy once you’ve looked hard enough, the desert’s guardian is slumbering most likely. Though if you see less cacti and Cacturne then normal...it’s out feasting and you should stay right put on the main trail. Not to say you’d catch mucha interest to it, but better safe then sorry right? Ain’t like the trainers there have done anything but dwindle over time...”
It was frightening to consider, but it’s almost certainly the truth. Being lost in the desert is one thing, Bulu’s mess of a home has confused a traveler many a time surely. But to plum disappear from the public when you last went wanderin into a blazing desert? That’s just suspicious.
“Now the last rumor, before the bosses come lookin for the all of us, comes from a part of Hoenn I ain’t been to much. Family trips and what not took us round the place once and I snuck off like the scoundrels we all are to check it out. Those Meteor Falls. Place is mysterious enough, got floatin rocks that look like the sun and moon afterall. Lunatone and Solrock if ya don’t know. But for somebody who doesn’t mind takin a swim, there’s plenty more to the place then just psychic rocks.”
He looks around gauging the various reactions of the folks he was tellin this tale to, all intent and leaning forward as to push him to continue. His smile nearly glows with excitement.
“Back under one of the waterfalls there, I checked. I’ve always been on the hunt for good spots for secret bases and what better place but a cave full of waterfalls? An what might I have found, you may ask? Well it was a peculiar sight to say the least, but in that portion of the cave, it was a mighty bit colder then normal. Course bein soaked at that point surely didn’t help, but that’s besides the point. Amongst the sharp stalactites and stalagmites that shaped the rigid cave was a blinding light. I couldn’t quite make out what it was, but it was something important and distinctly powerful for sure. I had intended to come closer to it but...”
He gulped alittle, what appeared to be the slightest bit of fear crossing his face. He looked away, for a moment that felt just a touch too long. His fellow grunts were getting rowdy, asking him ‘What happened?’ and ‘Did you get closer?’ before he came to stare back at them again.
“I couldn’t.” But why couldn’t he? “Something roared in that darkness, something that didn’t quite sound like any Pokemon I’d ever heard before. An call me a coward if you dare, but as young and reckless as I might’ve been, sometimes your natural instincts kick in. I never did figure out what it was, nor did I find out what made that roar. But...ever since then, folks have rumored a legendary artifact lays in Meteor Falls. With an even more Mythical of threats along with it.”
He smugly grinned as he got up to walk away, shrugging nonchalantly, as they shot a few more questions his way.
“Atleast, that’s what I think happened. But hey, maybe those really are just rumors?”
