I know EW revived Lleu in Fire but Lleu, to me at least, will always be a character that's been dead from the beginning. Death follows him around the narrative of The Winter Prince. I honestly can't imagine him alive at the end of the Lion Hunters series.
Lleu is immediately associated with death as soon as he's born because Artos says he will most likely die. And then, Lleu almost dies in the first chapter. He gets vaulted off a horse, and (he doesn't almost die but still) breaks his arm. He survives a mine collapse. Agravaine almost kills him by throwing rocks at his head. He gets poisoned constantly. He is "killed" and reborn in the winter pageant. Medraut almost kills him at the end. He gets a fever and collapses. He "dies" again in ACOAL in the battle of Camlan (which Medraut indirectly starts). He almost drowns in Fire but comes back.
In one sense, he dies and is revived constantly (especially by Medraut) but on another, he can't really be killed because he's been dead since the beginning. He was born dead. He's been a ghost forever.
#the winter prince#lleu#I do think there can be a happy ending even a medlleu one#But to me Lleu is dead has been dead and will always be dead#Maybe death follows him around because Medraut follows him around and that's the answer
