I have always said that one of the most impressive things a story can do is make even the smaller characters fascinating from the minimal amount you get of them. This is incidentally very hard to do as a writer because of course you wanna deep dive into the small characters if you’re gonna make them interesting.

#I could be wrong but I actually feel like I’m doing a really good job of it in stairway #I mean. some of the characters I’m thinking of are a little too big to be side characters exactly #but also. too small to be main characters #the Oliver family has some genuinely insane family dynamics going on #like they could have their own book. but I doubt I’ll even do any of their perspectives #I do need to make the audience care about tehm tho. which shouldn��t be hard because I care about them….#a stairway to nowhere #wip #ocs
