Didn't Know I Was Looking For Love
Title from the song Didn't know I was looking for love by everything but the girl.
Colleague Leon x Fem Reader
Summary: You broke up with your boyfriend when you were in police academy and after that you weren't interested on finding love until you met Leon a few years later.
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Part 1
(Just to clarify, you haven't really met Leon in this part yet. Though you're familiar with the name because you both trained in the same police academy)
You liked this guy in for a very long time, you two known each other since highschool, you would go study together, pick eachother as partners in projects and stuff. And after finding out you two are going to the same academy, you dated.
Your relationship with your boyfriend wasn't stable after a few months into dating. Before, you would spend time with him, he would take you on dates and even buy you cute stuff. But after a few months you frequently argued, you would apologize even if it was his fault. He even stopped giving you time, saying he is busy with his studies or other reasons.
Your heart aches, knowing he had no time for you, but not just that, he became a cold towards you. You noticed how close him and your best friend was becoming, they would study together and go to eachother's houses. He was only sweet in the beginning. Turns out he was cheating on you with your best friend.
"Y/n, It's not what it looks like!" He said, fixing his shirt. You caught them both making out in a parking lot outside a mall.
"I know what I saw asshole! I'm not blind!" Your blood boiled with anger, slapping him and your so called best friend. "I'm breaking up with you." You stormed off, hearing your ex boyfriend plead for you to stay but you ignored it. After that, you focused on your studies, contented with being alone. You promised to yourself that you wouldn't date anyone ever again.
After graduating the police academy, you requested an assignment to work for the Raccoon City Police Department because of the known murders taking place there. You got there as early as you could. Entering the department, you were greeted by the cold air, you scanned the area, seeing some police officers waving at you.
You waved back with a fainted smile. "Hi there!" You turned around to see a female officer smiling at you
"Oh hello" you responded with a nervous voice, fidgeting with my hands.
"You're the rookie right? I'm Rita, Rita Philips" extending their hand to offer a handshake
"I'm Y/n" You introduced, then taking her hand to a handshake.
"What a beautiful name, C'mon we prepared a little something for you and another rookie!" She said in an excited manner.
You then followed her to the west office while having a small chat, you were surprised of how big the station was. You felt excited yet Anxious. When Rita opened the door, you were greeted by the officers there. You thanked them to express your gratitude.
Looking up you saw a welcome sign saying "Welcome Leon and Y/N". In curiosity, you asked Rita who Leon was.
"Oh he's the other rookie, though he's not here yet." Rita Replied. You were familiar with the name but didn't really pay much attention to it as some of the officers approached you, asking about your story and why you wanted to be a police officer. They were very interested and wanted to know you better.
You were enjoying the party until you heard some screaming and gunshots outside the office. You and the other officers rushed out to see what was going on. You saw people getting bitten, blood was all over the place.
"What the fuck is going on?!" You screamed in terror, seeing the people with missing limbs or parts standing up and attacking other people. Seeing an officer about to get attacked, you looked around then saw a glass shard, using it as a weapon then stabbing the corpse on the heart but it didnt seem to care, acting like it was nothing
"Look out!" Rita warned, you looked behind you to see a bloody looking corpse running towards you. You kicked the corpse that you stabbed then dodged swiftly, staying close to Rita. "it's not safe here, c'mon!" You followed Rita to the 2nd floor armory then locking the door behind you both.
"What is happening.." Rita murmured, confused and shaking in fear.
"I don't know Rita.. Looks like something straight from a horror movie..." You said while looking around for supplies.
"You're right.. do you think it's zombies? I mean, I literally saw someone that got shot then acted like it was nothing until they got shot in the head" Rita said, unlocking the code then getting weapons from the armory.
"Then I guess we have to shoot them in the head" I said while looking through the crack on the door, .
"Take this Y/N you'll need it" Rita said, handing me a combat knife, pistol and ammunition.
"We need to get out of here as soon as possible, and get help.." I went to a locker nearby, having Rita to open it for me then I put on some gear for protection.
"We can only go through the fire escape or the entrance.. It's not gonna be easy" Rita replied with the slightest hope of getting out safely.
"Let's make a run for it to the entrance, it's worth the shot" Rita nodded then got ready to face the zombies. You looked through the crack on the door again to see if the coast is clear, when you were sure that it was clear, you two went out quietly, then saw that there were some zombies at the main hall.
You whispered to Rita that you two just make a run for it than shooting them because it'll attract more zombies. You inhaled deeply, getting ready to sprint down the stairs then out the entrance. After a few seconds you gestured that you go now, you both sprinted down the stairs, dodging the zombies then went out the entrance. You both panted as you got out safely. But looked shocked when you saw what happened outside, crashed cars everywhere with fire all over the buildings and more zombies.

Obi Wan x Padawan Reader Never Lie to Me
Pairing: Sith Obi Wan Kenobi x padawan reader
Summary : Reader misplaces something important and tries to find it before her Master can find out.
Warnings: language, sexual themes, *slight smut*
***************************************************
Hello my loves! Ok so I absolutely love Sith obi wan but for some reason I struggle to write him. I tried something and hopefully it's not complete trash like I think it is lol anywaaaaaaays enjoy😚
18+ readers only!
*************************************************
Oh this was bad...this was very very bad....
Okay y/n don't freak out, you can hide this! You can totally hide this!!
Fuck no you couldn't
You groaned sliding down the wall of your chambers. How could you be so stupid?! Losing your lightsaber like that?! Did you have a death wish?!
You could only imagine how enraged your master would be.. you shook your head violently dissipating the horrible thoughts.
No no no, it would not come to that becasue you would find it. It probably fell somewhere by your speeder. Yeah it's there for sure.....probably.....
Sighing you stood up and grabbed a cloak to cover your hip and the usual missing weapon spot that hung there.
You couldn't help but imagine all the horrible scenarios that ran through your mind if Master kenobi found out.
One included merciless unending training, not letting you rest for even a moment.
Another image had you bent over his knee whilst he.... ughhh you could already feel the sting.
Your master and you had a...unique relationship to say the least... he was your master in the ways of the dark side, so you had a strict student master dynamic during training.
He took your training very seriously, leaving little room for error. But as some point his punishments got more....creative..
You couldn't help but feel your face heat up remembering that time you screwed up a mission and he saw to your reprimanding. From then on your relationship became more....personal.
He didnt give you any special treatment, and didnt allow any distractions during training. But the times after training...when he would call you to his chambers and.....
You couldn't help but feel your heart skip a beat, or two, or twenty, and you couldn't help but to recall those moments..
That scent...
Those whispers..
His fingers.....
"What are you thinking about?" A smooth voice cut through your indecent thoughts like butter. You whipped around startled that the man in question was now standing right behind you.
Quickly you made sure your shields were up, something you had made sure to refine. You didnt want him hearing all your dirty thoughts during training...
"I-I was just thinking about the mission.." you took a step back trying to regain your composure. Why did you always manage to act like a floundering idiot when he was around?!
"Hmm, is it really the mission that has you so flustered?" He mused stepping closer.
"Or something else?"he smirked knowingly.
Bastard, he must've read my thoughts before I realized he was here...
"It's-" you attempted to change the subject before he cut you off.
"And I know you know better than to lie to me don't you?" He said slightly more serious. A familiar dark edge to his voice.
You gulped, "Yes master..."
"I was thinking of other things..." you trail off averting your gaze hoping he wouldnt make you say it out loud.
Although he'd technically seen you naked quite a few times now, you still felt so embarrassed regarding anything or your "intimate moments". This was due mostly to the many embarrassing things he made you do....well ok to be fair you didnt REALLY try to stop him...but the second those moments were over you could barely look him in the eyes.
You felt those familiar warm finger gently lift your chin. You met his deep gaze,
"Speaking of other things...you did rather well on the mission, we were able to conquer the planet thanks to your efforts, so I suppose a reward is in order...dont you agree darling?" He whispered the last part in your ear making you shiver slightly.
Oh how you enjoyed those rewards of his...quite possibly the only time he would treat you gently. Well there were those times he wasnt so gentle either...actually maybe you liked those more...
AH WAIT WHAT AM I DOING, I NEED TO FIND MY SABER!!
You place you hands on his chest and gently push.
"A-actually master I wondered if I might have your permission to leave the ship I..wanted too...look around a bit more before we have to leave!" You hurriedly came up with an excuse.
He stepped back, eyeing you for a moment before nodding his approval, "Alright, be back before nightfall" he warned and continued walking down the hall.
As soon as he was out of sight you let out a sigh of relief. Hopefully he bought that story. You quickly made your way to the ship's exit and onto the lush planet known as Misano.
Normally you would've liked a chance to explore and maybe even sneak some souvenirs back. But you had no time for that now. If you didnt find that saber soon you were toast. And it didnt help that Misano turned from a tropical paradise to a frozen tundra trap by nightfall. It was truly a unique planet.
But you could admire it another time, preferably when your life wasn't on the line...
************************************
You looked up at the setting sky as dread washed over you. You had scoured and searched for your blasted saber for hours but it was no use. You had retraced your steps multiple times and even question some of the citizens to see if they knew anything.
You didnt want to even humor the idea but now it was the most likely truth. Some lowlife had probably picked it up and would soon be rolling in credits.
You pulled your cloak tighter around you as the wind started to pick up. You knew you should start to head back before it got too cold but honestly freezing to death sounded better than whatever punishment you master would enforce...
************************************
You were now full on shivering as you made your way back to the ship. The sun had set long ago and you now knew why everyone kept warning you to get inside. Your boots the only reason you could trudge through the many layers of snow.
You must've questioned every suspicious looking citizen however no luck. Your saber was probably gone forever and on top of that punishment you were sure your master was going to be angry that you disobeyed and stayed out later than he permissed.
Ughh I should just let myself freeze over...
Another half an hour later you finally made it back to the ship. Immediately you dragged yourself through the halls to your room and ordered your droid servant to run a hot bath. You were extremely lucky that master kenobi hadn't spotted you yet.
You could barely feel anything and felt horribly tired. Even the steam rising from afar felt like heaven as it reached your frost bitten skin.
You removed your practically stiff cloak but had no energy for the rest so you plopped fully clothed into the steaming water, immediately sighing in relief as you slowly felt feeling returning to all parts of your body.
You rested your head back and took a deep breath, inhaling the warm air.
*achoo* fuck...
you could already feel your nose becoming stuffed and there was a slight scratch in your throat. Perfect, getting sick was just what you needed.
After you were fully warmed up, you drained the water and lazily wrapped a fluffy towel around you. You felt the exhaustion of the mission plus everything afterwards tenfold as soon as your body hit the mattress.
You spread out lazily letting the cool sheets relax your now warmed body, covers discarded on the floor.
Your eyes drooped slowly closed once, focused on the space by the end of your bed, you tried to fight off sleep but it was proving difficult,
You opened them but slowly they drooped closed again,
The third time however you saw a blurry outline of a man.
"M-master!" Like a rocket you sat up, heart beating out of your chest. You quickly pulled up the towel over your chest.
"Y-you scared me..." You placed a hand over your beating chest trying to catch your breath. You had been too tired to even sense him coming.
He stood with his arms crossed, an unreadable expression on his face. "I distinctly remember telling you to be back before dark did I not?" He stepped closer until he was right at the end of the bed.
Oh Crap hes mad.... you sat up a little straighter trying to ignore the fact you were practically naked in front of him.
"I'm sorry master, the time got away from me..." your mouth feeling unnaturally dry as the lie left your lips.
You hated lying to him. Well you hated what usually happened when you lied to him and he found out....
He eyed you silently before leaning over the bed intimidatingly close. He leaned next to your ear before speaking,
"You're lying" a dangerous edge to his voice now
You felt your heart stop and a rush of panic fill you. Fuck fuck fuck.
Slowly he came back into view.
His eyes were a threatning color now. A silent deadly warning to choose your next words carefully. You had just broken his one rule. And he knew...
You felt a million emotions running through you. Fear, for getting caught breaking his most important rule. Shame for being stupid enough to lose something so important. And Guilt for lying to the one person you never ever wanted to lie too...
"Ah I-I'm Sorry!!" You blurted out suddenly. "I-I didn't mean too! But so much was going on with the mission!! A-and I must've been distracted and I swear I tried master I really did! B-but no one knew anything and then it started getting dark and cold a-and I didnt know what to do so I came back, but I didnt want you to be disappointed or mad so I didnt tell you the truth and I'm so so so sorry!!" You bowed your head breathing heavily, hardly realizing that your explanation made no sense. Your eyes shut tightly shielding you from his whatever horrible expression he surely had on his face.
A few moments of dreadful silence passed before you felt him shift.
"Look at me" you barely felt the ghostly touch of his fingers guide your chin up.
You sucked in a nervous breathe when you realized you were only inches from his face. His eyes were dark and penetrating. Whenever he looked at you like this you felt completely exposed. Like he could see right through your soul.
"Now calm down and tell me the truth little one" he said dangerously calm. Sometimes that was even scarier then when he yelled...
Taking a deep breathe you gathered your wits and with a deeply ashamed tone you confessed, "I lost my lightsaber.." you could feel burning at the corner of your eyes but you continued through it, "I looked for it everywhere but..." you looked down again dejectedly. What a dumb apprentice I am.. hes probably so disappointed in me.. "I'm sorry Master.."
You waited for what felt like hours until he spoke, "I know" he said in an even tone.
Your eyes shot open in surprise, "w-what?"
"How many times must I remind you nothing happens without me knowing about it."
"So then..." he knew you were lying all along...
"Yes my apprentice" he grasped your chin slightly harder now but still somehow gentle, "When will you learn..." he slowly ran his thumb over your bottom lip, dragging it down, "that you can't hide anything from me.." he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I know..I'm sorry, I was just afrai-" he cut you off with a sharp slap to your thigh.
"What have I told you about lying to me?" he caressed your bare thigh making it harder for you to focus.
"That-that I am never to lie to you...no matter what..." your breath hitched as his hand inched closer across your thigh and to your most sensitive area. However just when he was inches away he abruptly removed all contact.
You immediately felt sad at the loss.
"Exactly, and yet you did exactly that" he nodded his head, "I'm disappointed little one, especially since if you had told the truth..." he reached behind him grabbing something and bringing it forward, "you could've saved yourself alot of trouble"
You let out a gasp, "My saber!!" He let you take it from his grasp, you beamed finally feeling whole again.
"But how did you..?" You asked confused where and how he had found it.
"It fell when you jumped on your speeder during the battle" he explained nodding slightly in exasperation.
So this whole time he had it?! And that means he knew all day that you.....
"I shouldnt have lied" you apologized sincerely. "I just didn't want to disappoint you..especially since I did so well on the mission..." you mustered the best regretful expression you could. "Are you angry with me...?" You couldn't help but ask.
After a moment he smiled slightly, resting his rough palm on your cheek, "No..well not anymore, I was more upset that you risked your health by staying out too long, however I do sense your deep regret, so this time I'll let it slide"
Whoa did I hear that correctly, hes going to let it slide?? My master?? Had he hit his head during battle??
"Thank you Master, I promise it won't happen again" you meant it this time.
"Oh I know it wont pet" you shivered at the pet name he called you. He suddenly force pulled you closer until you were basically straddling him. You let out a shriek.
"Because this time.." he placed a firm hand on the back of your neck pulling you in for a possessive kiss.
He pulled away slightly and you felt his hot breathe by your ear, "I'll make sure you remember what happens when you don't." Suddenly you were on you back, towel thrown across the room.
"Whaa what?! I thought you said I was off the hook?!" You blushed fiercely as he force held your hands and legs to each corner and stood back to admire your helpless form.
He smirked wickedly, "I said you were off the hook for staying out too late.. however..." you gasped as you felt invisible fingers begin to tease your most sensitive area.
"For lying to me.." he eyed you with a gaze now hooded with lust and a dangerous glint, "You will be punished until I am certain you've learned your lesson my darling..."

Haii hsi hai :-). I see you post a lot abt ADMIN and Mango, but I'm curious on what their story is? I don't think I ever was here to see their story or anything and I'm curious :-0. LIKE, uhmm, what exactly is Mango or ADMIN? Their relationships? How they met? Unless that stuff is a secret or something.
FINALLY. THE BIG QUESTION.
Okokok
So I haven't actually gone in depth about the story I'm so fuckin glad you asked me this. This is gonna be wordy
So the story is abt two women [Admin and Mango] and just generally their lives, both before and after meeting.
Mango is a worldwide phenomenon. Her creator/parent, Derrick Lewis, was 16 when he received government funding for his experiment on creating a sort of human life using just a fruit, which was a mango for him. He had 9 trials with varying amounts of a certain chemical mix. He got his hand bitten off by one of the mangoes with the most of this mix, and his blood accidentally got into Incubator 5, and that is the incubator that formed Mango due to the added component of human blood.
Derrick was 17 when Mango was fully formed and basically a discolored person with no external nose or ears. She also lacks pupils, but can see exceptionally well.
She was raised like any normal person would be raised because Derrick saw her as that. A normal little girl.
Admin is a different thing. Her father, Robert Charleston, had reluctantly allowed his daughter Aliyah to move away because she didnt want to continue his works, as they were immoral.
Robert is narcissistic, and he cloned Aliyah. Without Aliyah's permission, at that. Robert's wife discovered what he was doing and tried to sabotage it by stealing a vital organ stabilizer.
That caused the clones skin to turn grey, and for several things like her heart, lungs, and brain to start shrinking. Robert couldn't fix the skin, and later hair greying, but he could at least find electronic substitutes for those organs. This did involve switching out the clones eyes so that they could properly connect to the digital brain and process images.
Thus, Admin was created. She looked weird, as she also had no nose or ears externally, but she also lacked pigments other than shades of grey and blue.
Robert wanted an obedient daughter and didnt send Admin to public school, nor did he let her have typical childish fun, like running around playing tag.
He essentially wanted a drone and didnt get that out of Aliyah.
Skip around to when Mango is 9, and Admin is 8. Derrick attempts to gather information about Admin so he can tell Aliyah because Robert kept it secret for this long. He disguises it as playdates between Admin and Mango.
Mango liked being around Admin, but Admin needed time to process Mango's childish mannerisms because she didnt know that kids were supposed to act that way.
Mango taught admin how to be a kid, and that started issues for Robert. He eventually resorted to punishing Admin anytime she expressed any hint that she was a kid trying to be a kid.
Skip to when Admins 18, Mango's 19 [10 year skip]
Derrick finally contacts Aliyah. She's pissed, because her dad fuckin cloned her. She's 37, and she finds out theres a person just like her in genetic composition, that's half her age.
Aliyah travels to see Admin and turns out. Admin didnt know she was a clone until the day Aliyah showed up. Mango grew really close to Admin and was the one to break the news because she knew for a while.
Now, I should preface this, at 15 and 16 [Admin, Mango, respectfully] the girls decided to date in secret kind of. Derrick and his friend Mason were the only ones who actually knew.
With this situation, Mango suggested they run away. Admin was quick to agree and mango decided to let Derrick and Aliyah know because they're the people who could keep it a secret til they're gone.
Derrick agrees and Aliyah suggests a good city bus that'll take the girls far away.
Derrick gives them money
And they girls leave while Derrick and Aliyah distract Robert by. yelling at him about how what he did was shitty.
The girls make it to a city, and they just. Start making a living for themselves, they find jobs, and then they pay for a decently sized place to live. Eventually they agree to have a kid and theres the whole bone marrow baby situation because Admin has bones and Mango had a reproductive system [she doesnt have it anymore. Their daughter quite literally was the reason the whole thing had to be taken out bc otherwise, Mango would rot since shes still very much a fruit.]
As of current timing, Mango and Admin, as well as their daughter Moder-Ator, are virtually immortal until killed.
Derrick and his friend Mason have developed a romantic relationship.
Robert is alone. He spends his days blaming everyone else for his shortcomings in life. He refuses to take the fall for anything.
Aliyah visits the girls to check in since, it turns out, Admin didnt have the luxury of having a companion other than mango, so Aliyah just kind of. Claimed admin as a sister. She is Mod's godmother, should ANYTHING happen to Admin and mango.
Moder-Ator has a partner, its name is Leonard. It lives in a taco bell dumpster. It's an agender lesbian who met Mod and offered her a chalupa supreme.
TL;DR: guy makes a mango person. another guy clones his daughter bc hes selfish. the girls meet. they form a relationship. they run away after it comes out one is a clone. the girls form a life together and live happily ever after eternally.

*Hunting Can Be Tough*
Tumblr media
It was a rather humid evening in the forests of the shroud just a few miles from Girdania. Walking through some thick foliage was a male miqo'te with dirty blonde hair and some rather disheveled looking adventuring gear. It looked as if he had been hiking for quite a while as dirt covered most of him, while mud covered his boots. There was a sheathed sword on his hip, along with an assortment of daggers on his body. His right ear looks as if the tip of it was bitten off or just missing, and he had brilliant golden eyes as they darted to and fro as he made his way to a clearing. Beads of sweat roll down her face as she sits crouched in the bamble branch watching the wild hoglets and waiting for a chance to strike. Despite the heat and lack of protection she wore cloth robes to hide her face and protect her from the sun. Shes been out tracking and hunting for hours. She hadnt eaten for days. She was feeling weary and her lance was starting to feel heavy in her hands. Now may be her only chance to strike. Unbeknownst to him he’d wipe some sweat that was building on his face with his dirty sleeve. It would do the job or getting the moisture, however there would be a long dirty streak running across his forehead.  As he was making his way through the clearing, he noticed some small hoglets, and not really wanting to be blind sided by the mother waiting in the brush he’d lift his hands out and start yelling obscenities at the hogs, “Get the fuck out of here you stupid shits,” he’d say causing them to start to flee in the opposite direction of him. She jumps startled at the sound of screaming behind her and turns to see a man behind her. “Shut it you idiot! you’ll scare them away” She shouts. But it was too late the hogs started running away… She throws down her lance in anger falls to her knees frustrated at todays hunt. Suddenly theres a loud grunt behind her. Turning her head to look she sees a giant hog who must be the mother of the little ones she was hunting. She scrambles quickly to her feet grabbing her lance off the floor. She was determined to get this hunt in today. Both of his miqo'te ears would perk up at the woman’s voice who he hadn’t noticed prior. He’d blink rather lazily at her as he looked her up and down. He’d give a slight frown at the state of her thin frail body, but as he heard the grunt from behind her his eyes narrow in behind her. “Little girl… you best move out of it’s way… you never stand between a mother and it’s spawn… trust me,” he’d call out as he went to rest his left hand on the hilt of his sword and started making his way towards her. Exhausted and hungry there was no way she was letting this hog go. Tightening her grip on the lance she stepped forward towards the hog and attacked. As her weapon made contact with the hog it let out a loud squeal and became and angry and lunged at her making her fall back. She hit the ground with a thud. Perhaps not wearing armour wasnt a good idea… though she never thought she would be hunting anything this big.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t until she was pushed back from a brutal slam from the boar that the Miqo'te man arrived next to her. He’d reach down and unceremoniously wrap his arm around her mid thin midsection and lift her while his left leg went out to the boar to attempt to kick it’s nose in hopes of giving him enough time to carry the small child out of harms way in a hurry… hopefully she wouldn’t put up too much of a fight. Overcome by exhaustion and defeat she let the stranger carry her off. She didn’t speak except to say thank you. She didn’t know if she could trust him yet… as he carried her she studied him a bit.. she hadn’t seen him very clear before. She had some questions but knew now was not the time. She hated being rescued. She hated looking weak. The quick dash from the brush where they were to a good distance from the charging boar would take a few minutes. The ‘trip’ wasn’t pleasant at all for either party as going through brush with no time to peel back branches meant many scratches and maybe even some torn clothes when the mama boar finally gave up pursuit. He would take her to a clearing and let her go to her feet as he was finally able to look at her. His hand went to her chin and guided it upwards as if he was inspecting her. He made a straight face, before it went a bit disappointed. “Even for one of those Aura… you look frail and weak,” he’d say more so to himself then to her. He’d even go as far as turning her completely around to inspect her body fully. She stood there catching her breath while looking the stranger up and down admiring his strong arms that were able to carry her effortlessly through the brush. Blushing lightly when she realized he was watching her she turned her face away from him. “Yyes sir.. It’s been a hard year hunting wise with the humidity and imperialis scouting for hunters.  I guess at this point it would be easier to just move to a different area”
The man continued until he spun her around all they way around so he could see her body fully. “You are thin… weak,” he’d say in a very judging tone as he’d drop down to a knee and pull his pack from his back..  He’d also be sure to give her a few sniffs before pulling out a small little bag  with some dry meats.  "Imperials are probably least of your worries here… hunting in the shroud is forbidden… you are lucky the Adders haven’t caught you hunting.“ he’d say as he slowly rose back to his feet. He’d go to hand over the bag with some jerky in it but before she could take it he’d grip it tighter and pull it back just a bit. "Why should I give you this?” Taken off guard by the strangers blunt rudeness she takes a step back. "I..I don’t know. I guess you shouldn’t. After all I’m just a lowly AuRa to you. I’ll be fine. I’ll hunt again tomorrow in a different area” He lets out a huff through his nose as his ears lower, but doesn’t say anything.  His right hand with the dried meats extends towards the small woman and opens as if to let her take it. As he extends his hand she gets a smell of it… it smelled really good and slowly reaches out to take the bag" He would just blink and watch as she would take the bag. Again he’d let out a huff out of his nose as he glanced back where he took her from. “You would have better luck in La Noscea… or at least less Peril,” he’d say shortly still glancing away from her. She sits in the grass and takes a piece out and.puts it in her mouth looking up at the stranger…. She wondered if he bought it or made it himself .. it was very good. “Thank you….for the food and.the suggestion” “Also, you might not want to go out by yourself… if you are caught… you are just going to end up being someone’s bed warmer,” he’d say bluntly as he started closing his pack and putting his pack back on and preparing himself to depart.  He felt odd as he kept himself back from talking how he normally did… as this small woman seemed meek. “I’ve.. been by myself for quite some time..and while it may get lonely sometimes..Its better that what could happen if I were to befriend the wrong person.” She picked herself up from the grass feeling a tad bit better. Handing him back the half eaten bag. “Thank you. I feel alot better now that I have eaten. I will take your advice and move areas. If you.. have no previous engagements.. you are more than welcome to join me?” She looked at the stranger hoping he would stay with her.. While she didnt know if she could trust him, It was kind of nice having someone to talk to. He would have already taken a few steps from the girl as he paused and both ears perked up just a bit. “You can keep the food… there isn’t to many men… or women that like a half starved girl,” he’d say looking over his shoulder at her again. Again he looks her up and down one final time before turning on his heal and crossing his arms looking at her. “You would want me to join… you? When you are the one that is starving. No I think I will pass,” he’d say shaking his head. “But, it was kind enough for you to… try and welcome me… for that I will let you join me… at least for a bit,” he’d say blinking at her… wondering exactly what she would choose to do. “I ..am not always like this.. Like i said the hunt has been slow lately..and im not really looking to attract any men. Ive never been with one and at this point dont think I ever will be.. Im always on the move and have really only met one person since I left my home.” Pushing back thoughts of the half voidsent from before she looked at him smiling .. “I would love to join you if you truly dont mind it..At least till i can gather some of my strength back.” She picks up her lance and places the half eaten bag of jerky in her robe. “I guess if we are going to be traveling together for alittle while I should introduce myself. My name is Kharina.” He raises his right hand and shakes it a bit as she talks about attracting men. “I didn’t really care to hear about your… past experience with men,” he’d say shaking his head a bit.  He’d let out a sigh before resting his hands on his hips. “You can call me X'sete,” he’d say wrinkling his nose at her a bit. “Woman or not, do not expect any leniency…  and if you are following me I expect you to pull your weight… deal?” he’d say spitting onto the ground to his side and holding out his right hand, ready to give her a firm handshake. Kharina pulled back and turned around. “ Thank you but .. I think its best I just go my own way from here. I appreciate your help from before.. Maybe we will run into eachother later under better circumstances.” She pulled up her hood and began her walk back into the shroud. After a few minutes of walking she realized what her stubbornness and pride was costing her. She turned around and started running back towards X'sete. When she could see him inishe the distance she stopped near out of breath and yelled “Wait” Sete would have already had his back turned and started walking towards the thick brush by the time she seemed to get her head back on straight. He’d let out a rather loud sigh before looking over his shoulder back at her and just starred… waiting for her to say why she wanted him to wait. “..I know i seem weak right now.. and I know that you look at me in disgust for it.. and you dont think I could be of any use but i can be. I would very much like to join you if the offer is still there… I will pull my weight and keep to myself. I promise.” Kharina walked closer to him in hopes that she wouldnt have to continue this alone… at least until she could stand on her own two feet again… and although he seemed to be blunt and proud.. maybe it was better than being completely alone still. “You are wrong. I do not look at you in disgust because you are weak, nor because you are a woman, but that is neither here nor there.” He’d turn back the way he was facing and wouldn’t exactly turn her down from following him… “We are heading into Gridania. I need a bath, and a comfortable bed to sleep on for a couple nights. Is that going to be a problem… the guards aren’t after you are they…?” “No… not that I know of… I’ve been staying off radar for personal reasons.” All she could think about now was sleeping in a bed instead of the grass or in a tree to keep safe from the wild… She couldnt even remember the last time she had been IN Gridania and not just a spectator on the outskirts.. She loved to watch the women go by in the fancy dresses and the men strut around like they serve a purpose. A hot bath… now that would be a real treat.. Nice.. hot relaxing water ..as opposed to washing up in the rivers and lakes around. Snapping out of her daydream she look at him embarrassed by her  thoughts. “Apologies.. I ..didnt mean to take up so much of your time.. we can go as soon as you are ready. Kharina stood behind him waiting for him to continue so she could follow behind .. "That’s good,” he’d say as he’d turn back towards the direction of Gridania and start trudging through the thick brush.  He had no real plans of sharing his bed, nor his bath at least not for free. And for a quick judge of the woman that was now his companion, she couldn’t afford any of that and would probably have to sleep on the floor in his room, or a couch should it be provided. Regardless he moved towards the City and didn’t seem to be in a talkative mood… he must have been out there for a good while or at the tail end of a long journey. “You do not need to apologize for that… nor do you need to apologize for anything to me. Just keep up, and don’t put a blade in me,” he’d say simply as he would makeThey way towards and through the gates of Gridania without much further conversation.

Our Story
You arrived in a box.  It was a small one, an ordinary brown box that the grocery stores supply when you buy items too heavy for bags - a testament to how unprepared i was to pick you up and bring you to our home.
A day earlier, your breeder just informed me that i could pick you up already.  And just an hour before that, i was there looking at your crate where you and your siblings were all bunched up.
“Choose one” Rene, your breeder said.
I tried hiding a tinge of disappointment.  I always thought huskies were gray.  You and your siblings bore a shade i wasnt familiar with - copper or red.
“I don’t know. Choose na lang for me.”
“This one.  He is the most lively one.”
And so it was that fate, working through Rene, chose you out of 6-8 similar looking puppies to come home to Fairview.
In many ways, the box and the unpreparedness of it all, echoed the unexpected impact you would have in our house.  Pets weren’t big in the Rollan household.
Before you, there was only one dog, my brother’s shih tzu, Kimchi, who occasionally visited and dazzled us with his magic tricks.  But there were no pets who lived at home.
So you can imagine the mixed bag of emotions that came with me bringing you home.  A pet in a house that viewed dogs as bantay (guard dogs).  And that i insisted you share the room with me and my mom, because at the time, i shared a room with her, was met with many a raised eyebrow.
There were no instruction manuals that came with you.  No guides.  I didn’t have dog friends yet (furparents) and so for the early days it was trial and error - not a perfect parent recipe to raise a young pup.  The days and nights were a constant trying to sift fact from folklore as Pinoys had so many passed down on how dogs should be raised.
Yaya and I stayed out late for hours on end to wait for you to poop.  (This we got right). I didn’t know about crate training and how it can be used to house-train you.  So we did it by sheer effort. And had to wake up in the early morning hours to rush you out until you eventually learned to keep it in till morning
I walked you every morning during those early days.  Before you, i never ventured out of the house.  I was taught that the streets weren’t safe, that tambays (people drinking in the streets) would bother you, etc, or the occasional stray dog could harm you.  I also didn’t know about parvo, distemper, and all the other diseases that you - not yet fully vaccinated- could contract.  So i guess we both had to venture out and try to keep each other safe.
You kept the stray dogs that barked at us at bay. They barked but you silently stood ground until they backed off.
A turning point for us was when we both started taking classes at Betterdog, and then eventually at Pup Culture too.  I learned to be a better parent and you learned to behave. To this day, several dogs later, you were the most behaved.  You could read the people at home.  You knew when they liked you and when they were scared.  And you wanted everyone to like you.
I didnt know about the stages of puppy development - most especially the three months where a pup needs to socialize and feel safe about the world. Exposure was key as it would set you up for life.  And without knowing that, we stumbled through that too.  I mistakenly hugged you when you shivered at the independence day fireworks display and that reinforced your fear of loud noises - a fear you brought with you until years later your love for the family and being part of it was much stronger than new year’s fireworks and so you ventured out to be with the family anyway.
A bad encounter with a water bowl, where an older dog snapped at you for drinking his water, made you possessive of your things - a trait that made people fear you and one that we had to manage throughout your life.  People became scared of you - as you would snap at them.  Some were bitten and that made you even more a wolf in their eyes.  But even with that horrific image and perception, your loving nature still found a way to endear yourself to others.
You loved your car rides and your walks- just like your brothers who came after you.  But your joy was different and in many ways mirrored my own.  You were happy for the company not the walk.  It didn’t matter whether it was a trip to bgc, or the beach or even to the dirty park nearby.  The destination wasnt important to you. It was the people you were with.
And yes i didnt get that wrong.  You wanted people’s affection and approval where other dogs wanted the company of other dogs.  When we walked with our friends, you always stopped to check if they were still with us.  And you refused to go home and part ways with them.
You showed your love in simple ways.  A howl to greet people - which to be fair either was seen as endearing or terrifying, the latter i don’t understand why, a slight lean on their legs as you sit beside them. You didn’t just sit for people.  Other dogs would sit in front of you. You would move to the side of the person’s leg and sit beside him/her as if inviting them to touch you - go ahead, i can be yours for 30 seconds while you pet me. And how could i forget the kisses.  You loved to sneak kisses to strangers as they pet you.  A sudden lunge and then you would gently smack their lips with your nose.  And you somehow knew which people were ok to kiss and which weren’t- that obviously you didn’t learn from me.
I would like to think that despite all of my shortcomings and mistakes that we did ok.  I would like to hope that for the brief moments you were happy.  I know you changed me in ways i cannot describe.  You touched me, yaya (who became your most avid supporter) and mommy (who was deathly scared of you at first) and i believe we did the same to you too.
I always joked that you had to be gwapo to be a Rollan furkid.  You set the bar pretty high. You were the most handsome husky i had seen. Biases aside, this isnt an opinion of a parent with blinders - like when your mom says you are handsome.  Everyone you met affirmed the same thing. You had a face so perfect.  And your hazel eyes, mind you blue eyes were all the rage at the time for huskies, were perfect and full of expression and life.Maybe your looks were genetic- although to be fair, we bumped into your littermate and he was a far cry from you.
Or maybe it was also an outward manifestation of the love you always wanted to share and that i hope we also shared with you.
We had several adventures during our time.  But now i feel guilty that it wasn’t enough.  I would like to blame covid for stopping our weekly excursions, but it seems an empty excuse bec, i’m sure we would’ve or should’ve found a way.  I feel guilty that my attention was split when we got your brothers and sisters. That wasn’t fair to you and maybe it stung when you saw them being more accepted bec they didn’t have your phobias... But for all their approachableness, they lacked your soul.  Maybe that’s harsh or maybe too early as some of them are still young and with time could probably develop the same rapport.  But you were the one that was attuned to the family and to people.
Its funny how when you see the sum of all the things we’ve done and learned - obedience, failed attempts at agility and flyball, nosework, etc... we never excelled at any of those. I suspect they were never important to you. You were never ball crazy like the others, never really hungry to run and jump.   You did them because i wanted us to do them - because for those brief moments we were of one mind.  I wish i relished in that more than in the feeling that we failed time and time again. For those countless hours of training and the brief seconds before you pee to get us eliminated, we had each other
I told my friends when they asked who was my favorite-  you know Winter is the crowd favorite.  The celebrity crush people want to take pictures with and get close to.  Haru is the mysterious talented savant that you would admire.   But Watson has the heart and soul you would wish from a friend.  The pal who after all the lights and sounds have faded would just be content to sit beside you in the darkness. No words need be said.  But both of you would be contented just there beside each other.
Watson was and is my heart dog. I don’t know when we would get our chance to sit beside each other again and just watch time pass by.  Or when we would play fetch, or scent work, or walk or swim.  Thank you for touching our lives
Last september 10, you once more came in a box.  Only this time, this was to be the last time.  I took you for your last car ride to the crematory.  They could’ve picked you up from the house, but i wanted to bring you. One last time.
I love you my Watson.  Run free and i hope we see each other again.

drabble thing
"I'm done." Kali had lived long enough under the control of her 'boyfriend' Elijah. His constant physical and psychological harassment had done a number on her self esteem, and it was only with her 'big brother's' help that she was ready to stand up to the man.     Despite how confident she looked at that point, Kali was terrified. She knew the older male had one hell of a temper when things didn't go his way. That was why she had put this off for so long.     It was his level of calmness at her statement that should have given the first red flag.     "Yeah, I kind of expected that. You don't listen to me nearly as much as you used to, sweetheart. In fact, I'd go as far to say that you go out of your way to disobey me like a real bitch." The words felt like needles pricking into her skin. His insults always did- but really? That was how he kept his grasp on people. He made them feel so completely special to the point where one practically grew addicted to his praise, and then tore down their heightened ego until they became an obedient shell of their former self.     That was not going to happen to her. Kali wouldn't allow it.
He left the room immedietly afterwards. They both had to attend their next lessons for the day. Maybe that was why he had stayed calm? Was it just that he had to focus on preparing for his next lesson? While it was unlikely, Kali couldn't think of any other reason that would have fueled that reaction.     The next few days went by surprisingly well. The young assassin didn't meet up with Elijah even once. She could focus on herself first before worrying about what he'd do or say.     That happiness was bound to end at some point, right?
It was about two weeks after the breakup when Kali met with disaster. She'd just gotten back to her room after a long day of training and classes and all sorts of stressful work, and she was looking forward to just getting a good night's rest. The redhead discarded her coat and headed for the mini fridge she kept in the room. Kali really should have figured that something was off when the drinks werent placed as she had left them. Alas, she just figured she'd moved them around in a hurry earlier that day or something.     She grabbed for a bottle of water from the front of the fridge and downed the contents quickly, having not had much to drink all day. The girl let out a breath and tossed the bottle in the trash can before flopping on her bed. She hadn't been that tired, but the moment she hit the soft comforter, she felt about ten times more relaxed than she had prior.
I better get up and grab a snack and do some homework shit before I fall asleep here, she thought to herself. She didn't try to move for about 5 minutes. With a sigh of reluctance, Kali decided to get up and....
wait a second... she couldn't make herself get up. It was like she was bound by some invisible force that refused to let her free. Kali first assumed that she had just fallen into a light sleep that left her aware of her surroundings, although... no, that just didnt seem right. This... whatever. I'm in my own room so who the hell cares what's going on if... if...
The door creaked open, the tall blond male she recently broke up with standing in the doorway with a few things in his hands. Tape, rope, a few knives... it would appear that he was planning to kill her.     "My my... and here I thought you'd hide when you felt the drug kick in. You do remember it, right?" He cooed, his tone far more gentle than his intentions.
That was right! Kali remembered now, just a few weeks ago-- right before the breakup-- she'd been a test subject for a drug he was working on. Clear, void of flavor. Administered though consumption of a food or drink spiked with it. Effective, only taking a few minutes to fully immobilize the victim.    Kali mentally kicked herself. As soon as she'd felt her muscles begin to relax so quickly, she should've known. Now... now she was vulnerable. Funny- hadn't she always been vulnerable when it came to him? He'd always known what to do or say to get her to obey him. That was why she cut ties.
He didn't like that. Not at all.     Elijah closed the door behind him and locked it before placing the items he brought with him on the bed beside her. "But no... instead, you fled here- your bed- of all places. Are you hinting at something, my dear? Is there... something you want?" A low chuckle escaped the man as he grabbed for a knife he'd brought.
No... Kali couldn't protest. Even when she felt the cold steel of the blade make gentle contact with her arm. Then when it sliced through the strap of her bra and tank top.
Elijah seemed all too thrilled with how little she reacted. He was aware of how she was probably feeling right now, and the fact that she'd been silenced- put in her place, so to speak- made him sickly amused. "Not gonna speak to me, hm? Giving me the cold shoulder? Oh... forgive me, you can't speak right now. Can't make a sound to... to protest if my hand just slips-" He created a small incision on her upper back before discarding the knife. "I should help you get ready for bed-- now, you cant wear those clothes to bed. I guess I have to undress you.~" A laugh--deep, calm, and lustful--sounded from the man as he slipped off her top and trailed his fingers lightly down her back until he reached the hem of her jeans. Then, he tugged her jeans and panties down, leaving Kali without anything but her socks on. Elijah gave a contented sigh.
"Now what am I going to do with you first?" Elijah cooed, moving to lean on top of her and caress her breasts. He planted a few gentle kisses on the girl's neck before leaving a bite, sucking on the spot he'd bitten to leave hickey (which he made sure was in an obvious spot that would be a pain to cover up). "I think I'll take your virginity in the only place I havent yet--but first..." One of his hands moved downward to slip a finger into Kali. Then two. "I also spiked your drink with an aphrodisiac. Now you'll get to enjoy all of this as much as I do." He left a few more marks on her neck and upper back as he fingered her before getting up completely. "But I still have to punish you... so..." He grabbed something from the pile of stuff  he'd brought: a riding crop. Without much warning whatsoever, he hit her with it. Then he hit her again. And again. This continued for five whole minutes, leaving Kali with some spots even bleeding by the time it was over. Tears ran down her face and a few squeaks meant to be screams left her. "Now we can get to the good part. I'm going to turn you over, okay darling?" How his tone could sound so loving still, she didn't understand. Elijah was gentle this time as he moved her onto her back. Kali wanted to cry as her sheets were stained with her own blood from the injuries the riding crop made. She was crying, in fact. The blonde took off his shirt and tossed it aside, soon doing the same with his pants and boxers. He towered over her, jacking himself off for a moment as he observed her naked body. "I don't want to risk having to deal with child support or anything, so I'm not doing this unprotected. I thought about it, but luckily for you, I can be reasonable when the mood strikes me." He removed a condom from his discarded jeans and carefully put it on before climbing onto the bed with her. "Ah... you're so beautiful like this... it's a shame--what I'm going to do to you after all of this..." He was gentle at first as he thrust into her, but that didnt last too long. Elijah was known for being fast and rough with this sort of thing, and he could remain like this for quite a while without getting close to climax. He made sure to leave scratch marks on her chest, breasts, and stomach as he fucked her. Every single mark was a reminder that she was his no matter what she said. After fifteen minutes, he pulled out and removed the condom, breathing heavily. "Here's the really fun part. You've never done anal, Kali... and you know how painful people say it is... I almost wish you could scream right now. Ahh... that would make this even better." He grabbed her by her torso and tugged her to the edge of the bed, flipping her back onto her stomach. "S... st..." She was trying to say stop, but her ability to speak hadnt really returned yet. Just barely. Her fingers twitched as she thought about grabbing for a knife and stabbing him to death. It would be justified, after all. Justified... but impossible right now anyway. Elijah used the natural lube from Kali in order to lube up his dick before slowly penetrating the girl's asshole. While it felt remarkable to Elijah, Kali was pained so much by it that she was able to force herself to let out a small yelp--once again meant to be a scream, but it was still a sign of how much this hurt her. While he'd been gentle with starting out in the other hole, he didn't give this the same treatment. He was most certainly rough with her now. His breathing grew heavier and heavier, Kali's sounds of anguish becoming louder and louder as the drug started to wear off. When Elijah finally came inside of her ass, she full-out screamed... only to have him shove her face down into the sheets to muffle it. She was definitely struggling now, but he was stronger than her and had little trouble with holding her down. "Shhh... I need you to be good for me. We're going to sneak into the boy's dorms together... what a little slut you are, with how you're going to leave yourself exposed for all the guys there. How should I leave you tied? Hm...." This only made her struggle harder, even managing to make a break for the door before he grabbed her by the arm and tugged her back, placing a rag over her mouth. Without realizing it, she let out a gasp of surprise... ...and drifted back into a world of vulnerability. Only, this time, she had no clue what was happening to her. She was unconscious. When she would eventually wake, Kali would find herself bound, gagged, and surrounded by ‘friends’ of Elijah’s in abandoned room within the boy’s dorms.

🡶 BIOGRAPHY:
violet: unshrinking. she had always been a force of nature. relentless, iron-willed. she couldn’t be convinced the world wasn’t hers for the taking. the second of two children, violet was forever nipping at her older sister’s heels — desperate to be all grown up, big enough to walk and talk like the big kids. nine years her sister’s junior, violet had reason to feel left out. an accidental pregnancy, she was born into a family of ‘creatives’. her father a cartoonist, and her mother an art teacher. their household was rather unconventional; full of wind chimes, buckets of paint, crystals, and other miscellaneous ‘hippie crap’ — as violet so affectionately liked to call it. her parents were the softest kind of people, and that suited them well. but violet? violet was never soft.
the girl was remarkable. clever as the devil and twice as cunning, she spent her idle time outsmarting her parents and playing pranks on her older sister. she was a menace, in her younger years — but all she really craved was attention. attention from parents who, try as they may, just couldn’t relate to their youngest daughter. but violets older sister? oh, they doted on her. it was nobody’s fault, really. violet’s sister was a creative, just like their parents. whereas violet, she needed more mental stimulation. chewed up science textbooks for fun, spent hours down at the local natural history museum, and watched documentaries after school instead of cartoons. but to their credit, violet’s parents knew she was gifted. they did their best to keep up with her; but she was already leaps and bounds ahead.
violet didn’t keep many friends, as a child. kids at her school found her an easy target: bushy brows, strange parents, know-it-all tendencies. the latter was something she worked on improving, over the years, although the first two couldn’t be helped. over the years, violet taught herself how to brush it off — tried not to take things so personally. but years of trying to justify herself left her defensive, and suspicious of anyone being too overtly kind. in a word, you might call her pessimistic. but growing pains subsided, and she eventually grew out of her awkwarder of phases (thankfully). as she bloomed into her adolescence, violet even found herself gaining a little popularity — shock horror. after all, she was confident, intelligent, and as she would soon come to realise, beautiful. her latter years of high school were a breeze. she made friends, topped her classes, and kept her nose out of trouble. violet reasoned she didn’t have time for drinking, or boys, or partying. even at her parents insistence that she join in on the fun, she refused. after all, she was going to go to med school. she was going to be a doctor. that would be plenty fun enough for her.
after graduating high school, violet was offered a full ride to study medicine at one of the best universities in the country. she was born for this. so, never more eager to fly the nest, violet packed her bags and headed for baltimore. and that was it, she had made it: adulthood. out on her own for the first time, violet felt like she had the world at her feet. she was smart, and capable, and brilliant. perhaps a little sheltered, a little green – but tenacious none the less. she adored her studies, and devoted all her spare time to her school work. but her social life quickly fell by the wayside. violet failed to make herself new friends, never wanted to attend parties or social events, and the relationship with her family grew even more distant than before. she convinced herself she didn’t need anyone else — that she was her own best company. but deep down? violet was lonely. craved all those simple, normal things she missed out on when she was growing up; too busy trying to be brilliant. but still, she tried not to dwell. violet wasn’t overly fond of self-pity.
as it usually did, guilt dragged violet back to seattle for the weekend. she rarely visited, anymore. three years moved out, it often took several awkward calls from her mother to lure her back home. and washington was dismal, as far as violet was concerned. that’s what they got for living in one of the rainest cities in america. but, she would have to endure it for at least a few days, for the sake of her grandmother’s 95th birthday. violet spent most of the weekend locked away in her childhood bedroom, avoiding the festivities as best she could. even her older sister – who violet had once so adored and admired – was practically a stranger, by this point. she had expected the weekend to be one of the dullest of her life, but little did violet know, it would change her life forever.
everyone had heard the news reports. and violet found it fascinating, naturally. although, admittedly, she thought it was all a little silly — no doubt blown out of proportion. just like swine flu, and ebola, and all those other ‘pandemics’ that never came to be. it certainly didn’t scare her, that’s for sure. but then she got an email saying her flight back to maryland had been cancelled, in an attempt to quarantine the state. had things really gotten that bad? more so annoyed than anything, violet resigned herself to the fact that she would have to spend a few more days in her family home – ugh. but days turned to weeks, and things only escalated. still convinced it would all blow over, none of it felt real until martial law was declared. and all at once, things started to spiral. her parents insisted they bunker down and stay put, wait it out. but violet and her sister? for the first time in years, they agreed on something: they all needed to get the hell out of seattle. as chaos started enveloping the city, their window of opportunity started getting narrower and narrower; they needed to go. and so, finally, their parents agreed. and so, all four of them piled into an suv, and they headed east.
their first few weeks on the road were tough. finding food, clean water, encountering other survivors — survivors far more armed and able than they were. violet got her first few up close and personal encounters with the dead, the horror of which she found hard to comprehend. it was all so much, she kept hoping it was some nightmare she had dreamed up inside her head. but no, it was all too real. and violet, she wasn’t built for such a world. she didn’t know how to use a weapon, how to defend herself. hell, she’s 5′2″ for god’s sake — she was barely allowed to ride a rollercoaster, let alone handle a gun. violet could be harsh, and stubborn, and insensitive, but she certainly wasn’t violent. she wasn’t faint of heart, but the first time she put down a walker, she couldn’t stop herself throwing up. but the worst, unimaginably, was still to come.
first, they lost her mother. not to the undead, but to illness. a wound gone septic, violet did all she could. but they had no medicine, no clean water, no food. living amongst the dirt, and the rot of a dying world. violet blames herself, for not being able to save her mother — she’s sure her sister blames her, too. she was supposed to be the great big medical student, after all. if she could do nothing else, surely she could do this. but still, she couldn’t stop her mother from slipping away. her mother as well, was the first person violet saw turn. up until that point, she was convinced a person had to be bitten — that’s what they all thought, and yet. violet’s sister put her mother (or what was left of her) down, and they buried her somewhere peaceful. their father’s death came only three weeks later, his demise far quicker and more violent. caught amongst a horde, he got surrounded. all violet and her sister could do was flee, tear stained and trembling. after that, all they had left was each other. two against the world.
violet and her sister all but tore each other apart, those first few weeks on the road alone. so disagreeable, so set in their ways, compromise seemed impossible. and grieving, the both of them, in staggeringly different ways. violet on one hand, shut down. refused to talk about it, put on her toughest, bravest face; interrupted by the occasional outburst of emotion. whereas her sister grieved out loud — wanted to talk about it, needed a shoulder to cry on. incompatible to their core, seemingly. but still, despite the strain and the heartache, they loved each other; needed each other. what else did they have left, after all? half the battle was getting to know each other all over again. the people they had missed out on getting to know, during their years apart. tensions never entirely faded, but the pair managed to build a few bridges — eventually learning to tolerate each other’s company, even if only some of the time.
after spending time with a few small groups that quickly dissolved, the pair decided the only real option they had was to go it alone. after all, how were they supposed to trust anybody else, anymore? on this, violet and her sister both agreed: they would steer clear of other survivors at all costs. until that is, they met landon scott’s crew. caught amongst a swarm, violet and her sister were quickly losing control of the horde: overwhelmed. but suddenly, a small group flocked to their aid — no doubt saving their lives. to repay the debt, violet offered to help patch up on of the survivors that had been injured in the fight, which ended in her and her sister being brought back to the warehouse. it was a better established base than they had seen in months, and the group (as motley of a crew as they were) were clearly able. therein, they were offered a proposition: if you’re willing to work, you’re welcome to stay. and so, somewhat reluctantly, the pair agreed.
violet is no hardened survivor, nor was she built for such a world. but she’s determined, iron-willed, unwilling to fail. refusing to give up. she bottles her fears, of which there are plenty, and replaces her worry with a stoney facade. she can come off as cold, sometimes. blunt, sarcastic, unconcerned with pleasantries. but that’s the only way violet knows how to cope. if she is to survive, she needs to guard herself closely — maintain the ridged veneer. she knows her sister worries about her, wishes she would talk to her more, but violet is stubborn. she offers valuable assistance as a medic, but she still feels useless when it comes to fighting the undead. she’s learning, of course – teaching herself. one on one, she can take down a walker decently enough, but once they start grouping up? violet panics, gets overwhelmed. compared to some of the other, more skilled fighters amongst their ranks? she feels pathetic.
