Headcannons of; Quackity x Greek! Male! Reader
On god bro. I just really want somebody who speaks Greek on the QSMP. So in orderto cure this fantasy of mine I have now created this, sorry if you dont like the fact that Y/N is greek but I had to do it. Sooner or later okay-
â ïž Warning â ïž
Swearing
Some cultural things you might not understand
Might not be accurate to the cannon QSMP
This post has both Q!Quackity and CC!Quackity
Grammar mistakes
Characters might be a bit off to you
Mentions of Homophobia
Author kinda pools info about greek food-
If anything bothers you from above please, don't read!
CC!Quackity
ă»Your accent>>>>>>
ă»I'm sorry but he just loves it, especially when you pronounce certain words.
ă»Like saying yogurt and bread shit like that you know?
ă»If you say Alex in greek he gets scared- (ÎλΔΟ [Ălex] might not be accurate lol)
ă»Praise. Him. In. Greek.
ă»He get's so mad if you don't, goes full on Mexican on your ass-
ă»Quackity definitely respects your boundaries, so he'd ok with you not wanting to be public about your guy's relationship
ă»Especially with Twitter and shit (I refuse to call Twitter "X")
ă»Makes the funniest jokes and yall know those corny ass pick up lines
ă»Like "I wish you were my Xbox, cause I wanna play you all~~ night âĄ"
ă»He definitely does those daily
ă»He can't cook for shit, so you have banned him from the kitchen
ă»It's always akward explaning that to your parents...
ă»Quackity loves it when you cook for him
ă»Especially Greek deserts (I'm just gonna fanboy over greek food for a hot minutes)
ă»Like tiramisu or like those almond cookies
ă»OR FUCKING BAKLAVA
ă»OR EVEN LOUKOUMADES
ă»Incase you don't know what I'm fanboying over, Tiramisu is an Italian dish so I'm not gonna go over it in much detail
ă»Basically a layered desert with espresso innit
ă»Baklava is one of the MOST iconic Greek deserts, it's layered with phyllo pastery, melted butter, and nuts!
ă»The most common are pistachios and walnuts by the way and theirs a layer of cinnamon-orange syrup pored over it once it is baked!
ă»Loukoumades are the Greek version of fried dough, their normally topped with honey, cinnamon, and walnuts.
ă»Anyway...
ă»He loves then sm
ă»If yall decide to make your relationship public, he wants you to decide how to do it.
ă»I personally believe you take over his stream one day as his "Special Guest"
ă»A cooking stream because y'know- it's iconic
ă»Your baking a classic greek disk.
ă»Gyro (Pronouced Yee-ro by the way)
ă»Basically Gyro is a dish that is a mix of lamb and beef (sometimes chicken too) that is made to fill pita bread.
ă»The sauce that is paired with is called tzatziki (it's really fucking good.) it normally has tomatos and onions and paied with greek fries.
ă»So your cooking the meat and stuff and Quackity just comes up behind you and you turn around right cause you know he's their
ă»So quickly, you bend down and kiss him.
ă»A little smooch before you kick him out th kitchen-
Q!Quackity
ă»You guys met on the train to the island.
ă»He tried talking to you but he seriously could not understand you, it wasas if you were speaking another language.
ă»When the government had paired people up, you didn't get a partner :(
ă»You also didn't really want an egg either, but you didn't mind babysitting them!
ă»Phil is so greatful for this-
ă»Quackity had heard about your egg sitting and decided to leave Tillin (I think i butchered this ngl) in your care
ă»Tillin loved you, she also liked the fact that she could understand you and offered as a translator.
ă»When Quackity came back he was surprised to see his own child translating what you were saying
ă»Once the new members joined you were assined partners with Tubbo (I am not sure if the new members have assigned parners ngl so...also are we getting new members today?)
ă»(Not even joking- ANYWAY LMAO)
ă»So y'know how Tubbo can get info out of Curchuro (prob butchered that again lol)
ă»You can do it also, sence your the only person on the server who can speak greek and not English he thinks the info he tells you is safe.
ă»You get Tillin to translate to Tubbo about what Curchuro tells you >:D
ă»Quackity learns about this and then he realized what the fuck is happening
ă»The he realized one day, you were gone.
ă»Along with the eggs.
ă»He never realized how much he liked you until you left...
ă»Quackity tried looking for you and the eggs
ă»But he never got far
ă»Tubbo also tried to help look for you, to no avail
ă»Not gonna lie, you and Phil got locked in a cage togther đ

You grimaced when you saw the note in the newspaper; they were still reporting on the criminal called "The Butcher.".
âThis is bad, Brock, very bad," you commented, putting the paper aside.
âThey're diverting attention a bit."
âThey're putting all the attention on you."
âYou know they're wrong... You know they're wrong."
âPrecisely, if they suspect you, they can get to the truth." You put a finger on his chest.
Things weren't supposed to go that way; maybe they should plan something different.
Again, yet another body was found. What was going on? How was it possible that no one had seen anything or that any cameras caught anything of what had happened?
Steve kept saying that Brock was responsible for what was happening, probably as revenge for what had happened.
He continued to insist until he convinced the whole team, and they began to plan how to catch him.
You put the knife you were cleaning aside, and you grimaced as you checked your mobile phone. Brock was already late, and you didn't hear from him until the message with the code you feared the most arrived.
You grabbed the things you were going to need; there was no way you were going to let them get him into the raft.
You knew where they would be; you'd been on the team for so many years, even without them suspecting you knew every secret of every member.
You headed to where they were holding him. They had been waiting too long to get revenge for what Rogers had done to them, but they still had to wait. For the moment, the most important thing was to get Brock out of there.
You made a stop before you got to the place; you needed the distraction, plus you knew where the cameras were and anything that could be against you.
When you arrived, you set things up. It was the decisive moment; you were going to get Brock out of there, if or not you had to kill everyone.
âLet him go!" You spat as you entered the place, causing everyone to startle, as they didn't expect anyone else to arrive.
"T/N, I think you should know the truth about Rumlow," Steve began to say.
âMaybe you should see what's in the backyard," you informed them. The team looked at each other and decided it was best to go out and find out what was going on.
You quickly untied Brock as soon as the others left. You knew about the secret entrances and exits there, and other people didn't know about them, so you used one of the exits to leave the place as fast as you could.
âNow is not the time, but I promise you that we will take revenge for everything that Rogers has done to us," you whispered in Brock's ear as you helped him out of the place.
The others were confused; a body had appeared there; it wasn't possible; it didn't make sense; they had had Brock all that time.
âThere's just no way it's him," Clint said.
Steve raised his head. Maybe there was a chance it was all a trap. He began to walk quickly back, followed by the others.
There was no one there now; you distracted them so you could escape; however, Steve threw his shield away when he read the note you had left:
Goodbye idiots, You caught the wrong person; Brock has nothing to do with the murders; you should improve your investigation techniques.
The Butcher.
They never suspected you before.

The Saregeant's Daughter - Chapter 28 Madeline
"Yes, that's me"
Chicago Med S4 EP20: More Harm Than Good
I looked at the email on my phone with a huge smile an offer to work with the Gang Unit California, I have a week to accept the offer before it's given to someone else.
"What's with the smile on your face?" Maggie asked.
"It's a job offer about joining the Gang Unit in California," I said showing her the email.
Maggie read the email and looked at her with a smile, "So what are you going to do?"
"I don't know--I won't lie that offer sounds tempting but in California I don't wanna leave Jay," I said shutting my phone and putting it in my pocket.
"You two have to talk about this but I will support you with your decision even if that means leaving Chicago," she said placing her hand on my arm and squeezing it.
"Leaving Chicago?" Will said walking over to me.
"It's nothing," I said grabbing the iPad from his hands, "Let's go talk to the patient" and walked towards the room.
"Hi. I'm Dr. Halstead and this is Dr. Sanchez" Will said as we put gloves on.
"Vasiley Qipaqli?" I said reading off the name on the screen "Butchered it, didn't I? I'm sorry about that."
"You got close. Just call him Vee. It's easier. Uh, I'm his cousin, Brandon Wycoff" He said.
"Nice to meet you"
"So Vee, what happened?" Will asked him.
Vee turned to look at Brandon, "He's visiting me from Moldova. He knows like ten words of English"
"Yeah, that's--okay. We can get a translator" I said.
"Well, good luck" Brandon said causing me to stop "Most people there speak Russian or Romanian. He's from the south. He speaks Gagauz. It's just better if I do the talking. Long story short, he fell in the shower."
Will signaled at eyes then at the back of the head, "Look at the back of your head" and looked at the head "Eh, minor head laceration, doesn't even need a stitch" as I removed the ice from his wrist.
"Hey...anything hurt?" I asked looking at him as I moved his wrist a bit, "Pain?"
"Oh, I--I okay"
"Okay, good" I said pulling my pen out and flashed the light towards his eyes "I wanna get an X-ray. But I think the arm is just bruised"
"There's nothing internal?"
"I'm not seeing anything concerning"
"Oh thank god. If he's no-go. I'm screwed"
"Sorry?" I said.
"Oh" he chuckled "That came out wrong. Um...." and removed his jacket showing us his arm "Fistula for dialysis and stage renal disease?"
"Yeah. My only hope is a kidney. Luckily, he's donating me one of his. Love you cuz"
-
"I just got word your patient's gonna be admitted and moved upstairs to meet with transplant" Maggie whispered to me and Will.
"Mags" Will said turning away from me, "I need you to stall the transfer. I'm waiting on calls from translators"
"Gwen Garrett called me personally on this one" Maggie replied, "I can maybe buy you half an hour"
"That's not gonna do it. Damn it!"
"Will what's going on?" I asked looking at him confused.
"I don't think Vee is actually cousins with Brandon--he doesn't know any basic information about him and and Vee looks scared" Will said, "Mads we gotta help him, I don't think he fully understands what's going on"
I nodded, "Okay, let's get him a head CT"
"Mads" Maggie said.
"I'm just making sure there's not a delayed subdural hematoma that might endanger Vee in surgery"
"This case smells that funky?" Maggie said staring at us.
"It smells illegal" Will said looking at Vee room.
"Okay, I'll order you the CT. You got an hour now. But if I were, I'd find a plan B"
"Yeah, I need Miss Goodwin" Will said and walked away from us.
-
I followed Will into the room where Vee was in, "I have to ask you. Is Brandon paying for your kidney?" Will said pointing at his side.
Vee looked confused Will pulled his wallet out and pulled an 100 bill "Money, all right? Is Brandon paying you money for your kidney?"
"Nu, uh..no money"
Will put the money away, "it's okay. Just tell us the truth so we can help you"
"Help...uh yes" Vee said and stared looking through his belongings "Ah" and pulled a picture of two little boys "Me...Brandon"
"uh--huh"
"Brandon sick. I help family"
The door opened up and Brandon walked in, "Dr. Halstead is there a problem?"
"No, just checking on Vee" Will replied "Making sure he's okay"
"Me too" Brandon said walking towards Vee as he showed the picture he was just showing us, "Oh, you gotta be kidding me. Look at us. My mom took me to Moldova when I was eight. She wanted me to experience the homeland. And village after village, I was so bored. But then on the last day, I met Vee. And we couldn't speak to each other but we both knew how to play soccer."
"Football" Vee said, "Football, football. I--football"
I smiled at them as the laughed with each other, "Thank you for what you're doing for me. You're saving my life" Brandon said and turned to look at us "I wish he knew what I was saying"
"I think he does" I said and placed my hand on Will back, "We'll leave you guys alone"
-
I walked out of the hospital with Will next to me as I explained to him about the job offer I was given.
"Madeline Sanchez?" A male said walking over to us with an orange envelope.
"Yes, thats me" I replied confused.
"These are for you" He said handing me the envelope "Open this in private alone ma'am" and walked away from them.
"What was that about?" Will said as we watched him get into his vehicle and drove off.
"I have no idea" I mumbled looking at the envelope in my hand, "Well I'm going to get going see you tomorrow Will"
"yeah--get home safe" he said bringing me into a side hug.
I smiled at him and walked to my car. Once I was in my car I opened up the orange envelope, I pulled what looked like pictures that were backwards turning them around it was pictures of Jay with another women.
Tears slid down my face as I looked turned the pictures of him and another women, they were kissing, hugging, cuddling, and even in bed together and he looked so happy with her. I put the pictures away back in the envelope and pulled my phone out and went straight to the email that I had gotten this morning and replied that I would be taking the job--I blocked jay on everything without a word and sped home to pack everything.Â

as a french person the reverse is true as well. like unless you're majoring in english (ex translation and interpretation student here woo) you better butcher that pronunciation or else like bitches really be like 'ow arre iou' out here
also i have been overtaken by cardinal copia thirst this week and the last chapter of 'lost in translation' kinda reminded me of the psychic damage i took after my highschool english teacher asked me to translate the meaning of 'throbbing' in a text about the marshall plan. like why would you qualify world economics of 'throbbing' of all things ????
anyways can't wait for the next chapters, you write beautifully and i look forward to finding more reasons for regretting taking spanish instead of italian as my third language in school
bisous !!
I mean, to be honest, I feel like most people do a really bad English accent to make fun of us (valid). Like I've genuinely never seen a person really try and then fuck it up so badly it sounds awful, you know? But like, English people don't even try with French, man (gender neutral). L'Oriental, for example. This dude literally said Luh Oriental and I'm like, bro, that's literally the easiest French word you could possibly say. How did you destroy it??????? You studied French at school and you didn't retain at least the accent? Bitch.
Also, not me accidentally triggering secondary school PTSD đ You good, bro?? I'm so sorry. Lmao. They got you to translate throbbing? For what purpose!? đđđđ Rip.
Honestly, I have so many languages I wanna learn but not enough time.
I'm so glad you liked what you read so far - I can't wait for you for read the rest! Thank you so much!

FUCK its the end of January - Diary of a Big Ole Gay 1/31/2023
Hey whores, its me your bitch back on his bullshit.
So I have a interview tomorrow and I'm waiting to hear back from like three, four different places. so its a lot of waiting.
(yeah I kinda hate having to sit on my ass and waiting)
Also I probably didn't watch that much queer stuff this week so sorry? I mean I had to slow down a little whores. most of this stuff is stuck behind a paywall. (pssst I have a ko-fi if you wanna help a whore out).
The Legend of Lylah Clare (1968) dir. Robert Aldrich
So this is one of those movies that had a queer element and then were also just very poorly recieved for completly unrelated reasons, (think Sylvia Scarlett or Glen or Glenda). This film is about 80% less gay then that. On one hand you have this very meta type of patisches to it its a lot of elements from things like Rebecca and Sunset Boulivard.
You basically have this young actress who has this preternaturally ability to imitate Lylah Clare a golden age star who died in a spectacular fasion and she bascially falls into the wild child/Bisexual Vamp role. If you remember me discussing Lola from Pandoras Box then you have a sense of what I'm talking about.
TBH it is very campy and fun but the reason why this is on the list is that one of the characters is a lesbian and she was fucking Lola Rebecca, *checks notes*, sorry Lylah Clare.
Muchachas de Uniforme (1951) dir. Alfredo B. Crevenna
so this is a mexican remake of the classic and while there are some aspects I really like about it (the expressionist type architecture, the costume design), it tones down a lot of the queerness of the original.
I will say that this
1. is a lot darker and if you know how the original ends then know that they go for the bummer ending. (bury your gays)
2. I watched this on youtube and there were no English Subs so I had to use the auto-translate function which meant I only got the barest bones concept of the dialogue. its buggy, spanish is a fast spoken language and also if I understood spanish the dialogue would probably be really pretty. So understand there is a language barrier for me here.
Lo siento, me esponal no es bueno, estudiar para tres anos perro soy es estudiente malo. Sue me.
Madchen in Uniform (1958) dir. GĂ©za von RadvĂĄnyi
This one is a lot more faithful to the original but they also butcher the bedroom kiss scene. However they do make that up with this kiss later on when they extend the play plot point.
I will say that I do like aspects of this film, i like there take on it but the original madchen in uniform is far superior to both of the remakes.
and thats not to say that the remakes are bad films they have a great aestetic, they add little details the original does but its something about the original that just sings in a way these ones dont
Everything Else I watched this week and a half
as you can tell I watched Infinity Pool, It was great. Horror Autuers are like lets shit on rich people and I'm all for it. Its giving sci-fi taking to its psycological horror extremes and what happens when you give in negative nihilism.
Also watched 2017 B&B, its a gay thriller and its pretty good if a bit triggering.
I finished the rest of the Hammer House of Horror and umm what else...
So I watched Bi-coastal, one of the Catalina Bisexual Features they did in the 70s directed by Tom DeSimone, (or as he went by then Lance Brookes). The men in it are definetly hollywood twink and not the sexy Gage Men, but despite that Bi-Coastal was V V hot. and honestly very bi positive for the time.

Bumping this plus announcing that I have everything up to May 2014 on the drive! However I'm gonna be redownloading May 2014 through June 2015 because I messed up and didn't download the last days of those months. Hopefully that shouldn't take too long!
Also one day when I'm past struggling through hiragana and grammar, I wanna try my hand at translating all these tweets, going day by day. I've already been trying my hand at it on my own with help from deepl (and my boyfriend... thank you robin), and it's pretty fun!
But that raises the question of where I'll put all that, and honestly I'm not sure. I wanna find places where I can format everything where it's easy to read and access both for English-speaking audiences and Japanese-speaking audiences.
Part of me is honestly just thinking of putting it on an alt tumblr account, but that's gonna be pretty far in the future once I'm confident with my Japanese. OR pretty near in the future if I feel like butchering the translations and fixing them later! I'm not sure yet.
Hey Siinamota Enjoyers
So chances are you saw my siinamota archive post on twitter. This is where I live now! Feel free to follow or send over an ask.
Please click đ«here âïž for the tweet archives! As of 5/8/2023 it's still a work in progress- all the files are safe on my computer and I'll try to put them here as soon as possible.
A lot of Mota-san's tweets here probably haven't been seen by anyone in years. Maybe some for an entire decade. I'm honored to be the one who gets to renew the memories they've shared online. Go on and take a look, there's lots of silly stuff in here.

I saw your post about the FA's translations, and I totally agree. Sometimes, when they do not translate accurately, is to make it sound better or cooler in English, but it just ends up taking away a lot from the context and characters. We know how one of the most affected character interpretations is Katsuki's, a main character, no less. And Izuku and Katsuki's relationship too, which is something super super wrong, considering is deeply intertwined with the main plot of the series, thus if someone misinterpreted their dynamic, this person would miss a bigass chunk of the message the story has.
Here is the panel you mentioned before btw
I remember when I read this, only 10 or 11 chapters into the manga (?), and I was like "...I'm...pretty sure this guy didn't say that" khshsjdhs
OK FIRST OF ALL LMAO HELLO MANG!! THANK YOU SO MUCH AND DW ABOUT IT I TOTALLY GET WHAT YOU MEAN !!
(this is your warning for a long post ahead!)
In any case, I still think you're very correct on this! Not to ramble a bit, but Horikoshi's particular talent in developing the plot of MHA is actually very very brilliant and there are a lot of blink-and-you'll-miss-it details that together, assemble the big picture of what MHA is.
Translations are such an integral part of being able to understand foreign media. MHA or otherwise. The simplest of details say a lot about a character and often times make or break a series because everyone knows that strong character dynamics are what carry even the shittiest of plots.
First and foremost, I want to clarify that because of the nature of fan translations and the fact that most of it is volunteer work/ written out of pure enjoyment of the manga--we shouldn't judge these fan translators too harshly (if at all) for interpreting it the way they want to. FA, as far as I can tell, is a fan-based group that works out of donations.
The first thing I wanna bring up is that when it comes to fandom and its works, there are two types: Curatorial and Transformative. Now, the transformative part is something that must be very familiar to a lot of you. Fanfiction, fanart, and most headcanons fall under Transformative Works (i.e. AO3) because they are all about transforming the canon world to fit each individual's personal preferences. Meta-analysis posts and Character Breakdowns are also classified under this.
Curatorial on the other hand are fandom interactions made with the explicit purpose of being as close to canon material as possible. This is working out the logic of quirks, for example, or memorizing as much canon content about your favorite villain as possible. These are more cold, hard undeniable facts that lend themselves to the DIRECT VISION the creator/author had while making this media. If you were to ask me my opinion on this, this would be the moment where I tell you that the Curatorial side of fandom is where fan translations should (for the most part) fall under.
What people need to know though is that oftentimes, fan translations do not.
Translating isn't and has never been a one-is-to-one process. There are hundreds of thousands of aspects in a language that make it so that it isn't perfectly translatable. Colloquialisms to sayings to dialects, to just plain-out words that don't have a proper English translation to them! Manga is made by and for a Japanese audience, so obviously in a lot of instances, there will be cultural nuances that will not be understood by anyone who hasn't immersed themselves in Japanese culture/language.
So what does this mean then for fan scanlations?
It means that a vast majority of translators teach themselves to only get the essence of the message. They take the dialogue as they understand it and translate it to something of their interpretation. When language and cultural barriers exist, translators do what they can in order to make it understandable to the general populace. This means making their own executive decisions on how they see a character speaking. In example, if they see Todoroki using very direct and impersonal Japanese--one translator might interpret it to mean that Shouto is stiff and overly formal, while another may see it as him being rude and aloof.
The problem is, translators are fans just like us.
Like with the image Mang posted above, the translator based the usage of curse words off of their understanding of Bakugou's character. The lack of foul language in the original Japanese might have made the translator think "Oh. There just aren't enough Japanese cusses for his character." And took that as an initiative to make Bakugou's lines more colorful and violent because this was working off of the image Bakugou had had at this point in canon.
But Codi! You may cry. Wasn't it proven multiple times that Bakugou prefers concise and short lines? They should've known better!
Yes. Maybe they should've known better. But tell me honestly in your first watch-through of MHA, did you perfectly understand Bakugou's character either? Did you catch the whole 'direct and no flowery language' aspect of his language when you first saw Season 2?
Most people don't. I only really understood this fact after I'd read multiple discussions of it and even double-checked the manga myself. These are the kinds of things that only become noticeable with a sharp eye and some time to scrutiny. But the fact of the matter is that when it comes to fan translations, the clout and recognition are always going to go to who can post the quickest.
Am I excusing erroneous translations? A bit, I guess. It's hard for us to go in and expect translators to catch all these errors before release when we ourselves only catch these errors like 4 months in with a hundred times more canon context than these scanlation groups did at the time of its release.
Still, there are plenty of harms that come with faulty translations.
When a translation is more divorced from the original's meaning than usual, it creates a dissonance between what is actually happening versus what the audience sees is happening. This looks like decently-written character arcs being overruled and rejected by most of the readers because of how 'jarring' and 'clumsy' it seems. By the time translators had caught on to the fact that Bakugou was more than just a ticking time bomb, we were already several steps into showing how significantly he cares for Deku.
The characters affected most by these translation errors are often those with the most subtle and well-written character arcs. A single mistake in how the source material is translated can make or break the international reception of a certain character to everyone who isn't invested enough in them to look deeper into the canon source.
It creates hiccups in plots. Things that seem out of character but really aren't. Going back to MHA in specific, the way that inaccurate translations hurt both the 'curatorial' and 'transformative' parts of the fandom is that people have begun to cite them as proof of the main cast's characterization.
Bakugou and Todoroki are undeniably some of the biggest examples of mistranslation injustices.
Katsuki, in a lot of people's minds, has yet to break out of the 'overly-aggressive rival' archetype box that people had been placing him in since Season 1. One of the most amazing aspects and biggest downfalls of Hori's writing was that at first, nearly every character fit into a very neat stereotype for Shonen Animes (Deku being the talking-no-jutsu sunshine MC, Uraraka being the overly bubbly main girl, Todoroki being the aloof and formal rival). He made the audience make assumptions about everyone's characters and then pulled the rug beneath our feet when he revealed deeper sides of them to play around within canon.
What made this part about Horikoshi's set-up so good though were the many clues we were given from the very beginning that these characters were more than what they acted like. Even from the very first chapters, for example, we learn that Katsuki (as much as he acts like a delinquent) dislikes smoking because it could get him in trouble.
That is just a single instance of MHA's use of dialogue to subtly divert our expectations of a character.
Another example is when they replaced 318's dialogue of the Second User saying that Katsuki "completes" Deku with him saying that Katsuki merely "bolsters" him. This presents a different situation, as that line was meant to reinforce the importance of those two's relationship as well as complete the character foils that MHA is partially centered around. By downplaying their developed connection, it becomes harder for the MHA manga scanlations to justify any future significance these two's words have on each other without mottling the pacing of the story.
AKA, it butchers the plot.
With every new volume, there are dozens and dozens more of these hints and bits scattered around! So many cues and subtle foreshadowing at the trajectory of everyone's character arcs--yet mistranslations or inaccurate scans make it so that we don't notice them. This is what I mean when I said that some character arcs are being done great injustices.
Until now, many people can't accept that Katsuki Bakugou cares for anyone other than himself (much less his rival and MC, Izuku Midoriya), nor can they accept that Todoroki would ever willingly work by Endeavor's side. The bottom-line then becomes that because of people missing heavy bits of characterization that become very plot-significant in the future.
When it comes to the point where people can no longer accept or fit their interpretation of the earlier manga events to what is happening in canon, the point of a translation fails completely because it has lead people to follow an entirely different story.
TL;DR - Fan scans are hard. Translating is hard. Don't get too mad at fan translations, but also maybe don't treat them as the catch-all for how characters truly operate. Thanks.
Side note: DO NOT harass FA for any of these things. FA is actually a pretty legit and okay source for scans (they've been operating since like 2014 ffs), but regardless of that they still don't deserve to get flack for their work. You can have any opinion or perspective of canon that you want, I don't care. These are just my two (more like two million tbh) cents on translations. I suggest reading takes from actual Japanese audiences tbh if you wanna know more about the source material of MHA. ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ

some of the aot fans (probably just casual readers) don't see the parallels between EM and LH???? like the brunettes desire to live with their ackermans together in the woods? they call levihan shippers delusionals. their attacking levihans that they didn't read the manga well and we just want our ship to be canon??? WTH????
I keep wondering if it's just us, levihans, who see these parallels?
im sorry for this rant, it's just soooo frustrating. Basically the reason why i leave twt lol not yet, im still there bcoz of lh filo socmed aus
I have so many things I wanna say about chapter 138 and I am so sorry I only got to it now. I think most Levihan fans already said what I wanted to say but either way, Iâll just give some thoughts I entertained when these came out.Â
Coz first of allâŠÂ
As a Levihan shipper, I am obviously ecstatic about this but as most people know, I come from a household where everyone is not too enthusiastic about Levihan. They are so very enthusiastic about INVALIDATING LEVIHAN in particular that my sister and my parents who donât even watch AOT just come up to me while Iâm staring at Levihan art on tumblr and goâŠÂ
âWhat are you doing?âÂ
âStaring at art.â
âOh, is that the one couple you like who donât even love each other or smthg.âÂ
Cause apparently my sisters who watch AOT and my boyfriend have been SO vocal about invalidating Levihan that even my parents now are on ship that they arenât even a thing and Iâm just delusional but yes, since I live in a house where literally âshipping Levihanâ is on the same level as âthe curtains are blue so the narrator is sadâ type of interpretation, I will start by mentioning a more pragmatic argument to this whole Levihan and Eremika parallel.Â
While I am one of those who can definitely see that yes those were clear parallels, there are some louder people( mostly Eruri shippers) who think that LH fandom is just grasping on straws and trying to diminish their supposedly canon ship( because EL and EM ackerbonding thing) so I was wondering what is your view on this?
So, to break down the argument...
Itâs a war story blah blah blah. And besides Mikasa loved Eren from the start blah blah blah.Â
I think this is an argument I see a lot. Because Yams is writing a war story and I think a lot of people are suggesting that itâs a war story here is no way anyone can be canon or anyone can have romantic relationships.Â
AND I HATE THIS TAKE. Relationships are human nature. Yes, being arromantic exists but I donât believe that in a fictional space, romance can ever NOT exist. Because most---or scratch that--- I believe all humans will search for companionship and I do not believe it is ever reaching to jump from whatever companionship exists between people and contemplate the potential of romance, except incest but thatâs another story.Â
Yeah because if thereâs no kiss or sex then itâs not a romance apparently.Â
Well guess what, weâre all reaching then, cause only Eren and Mika got the kiss. But lemme drop some social experiment I did.Â
I actually showed the Eremika and Levihan âLetâs live together scenesâ side by side to a colleague at work who doesnât watch AOT and she told me, WITHOUT CONTEXT, that she prefers the scene between Levihan more than Eremika and the reason behind that is because there were undertones, specifically in the Korean translationâ that Hange was tired, and thereâs this apparent romantic-ness to it when you dream of something when youâre tired and when you dream of a particular someone.Â
Because hereâs the thing, when you love someone, when you decide to be in a relationship with someone, that person will be your HOME. And now that I think about it, it definitely hits for me more, because when Hange was tired, when Hange was completely exhausted and spent, she dreamt of a future with Levi.Â
And donât you think that itâs more romantic that âdespite everything, she thinks of himâ compared to âshe constantly thinks of him?â Because I dunno, when someone is constantly thinking of someone, thereâs actually no effort really needed for the feeling to grow, but when âthey think of someone, despite everything.â Thereâs this idea that the relationship can withstand more things and that means they thought long and hard about it.Â
Their life is so interesting and eventful, yet at the end of the day, there exists someone who still shines brighter than life itself and thatâs why âDespite everything, she thinks of himâ rings brighter than âshe constantly thinks of himâ for me at least.Â
Probably a personal preference thing but either way⊠Just my take.Â
Western people donât consider running away âromantic?âÂ
This is something Iâve discussed with filo moots multiple times and this is something Iâve thought about reading the Japanese and English translations, reading the Filipino Soc Med AUs and having my friend read the Korean ones. Â
The Japanese and Koreans are quick to see the romantic undertones, a lot of my Filipino moots are quick to see those romantic undertones too. But we have the western fandom on Reddit going âYo Erehisu foh evahâ and people saying âLevihan not canon they didnât kiss.âÂ
But YO both of my parents are âtananâ (runaway in tagalog) babies. My mom actually ran away with a man and wasnât allowed to talk to her dad until she graduated. My dad disobeyed his parents to marry my mom. They were setting my dad up with another woman and they were going to have a big wedding and everything but my dad was likeâŠ
NOPE Imma run away and marry this woman.Â
And can I just say, my parents are the MOST unromantic people but they literally disobeyed their parents, ran away together, literally risked their relationships with their parents to make it work.Â
And my parents are one of the few people in their family who are still in a happy relationship even after 25 years of marriage.Â
Okay, I admit, sometimes running away is a dumb decision and shouldnât constantly be romanticized.Â
But I donât think a lot of people understand the gravity of what âtananâ entails. Legit, it was emphasized in 138 already, if Eren ran away, Paradis could have been overrun by military soon. And if Hange and Levi ran away to the woods, âwhat would there have been left for them?Â
And in real life, my mom literally gave up her relationship with her dad to try to make the relationship work. My dad gave up the comforts of marrying a rich woman in a lavish wedding to marry my mom.Â
They literally had a civil wedding, went out to eat Chinese noodles and China town as a post wedding meal and 25 years later, they have one of the strongest relationships Iâve ever seen.Â
AND NO ONE RUNS AWAY WITH SOMEONE FOR THE LELZ. So yes, running away with someone will always be romantic for me.
And the Ackerbond?
Something I always find myself asking. Why do people want the Ackerbond to actually be a thing? Because if the Ackerbond were real, then wouldnât that invalidate all Eruri and Eremika even more since we know theyâre just trapped in the relationship like Stockholm syndrome or something?Â
And besides didnât Yams debunk that chapters ago?Â
Anyway, onto the next questions
hi sav! i have a question about the recent chapter. do you think the em and lh parellels were done on purpose by isayama?Â
And to answer this question⊠I am not so sure actually. I talked to a Japanese friend who grew up in the same prefecture as Yams, apparently it was her acquaintance from high school who married Yams and they were childhood sweethearts.Â
So maybe Yams got it from them? My memory on that convo is hazy but itâs only possible that he built Eremika from there. And Levi and Hangeâs development is just incredibly different that I donât think Yams thought that far to do it.Â
My theory here is that Yams is writing a war story and he only has one way he could have ever shown romance in a war story and thatâs through ârunning awayâ so I believe the parallels are unintentional but I genuinely believe that this was Yamâs way of showing romantic undertones.Â
And I personally do not think that Levi and Hange would have ever kissed in that time in their life, at least intentionally and I hoenstly commend Yams for doing such a good job with the subtlety of the romance because Iâve literally seen so many great characters in other stories completely butchered by a poorly done romantic subplot so I aint complaining about these romantic undertones.Â
But either way,
I hang in the Japanese fandom a lot and there have been lots of fandom discussion on Levihan becoming endgame if 132 didnât happen. And there are actually articles on this putting Levihan as endgame along with Eremika so Iâm kinda suspecting that invalidating Levihan is an anime-only fan and reddit fandom type of thing.
But anyway, thank you for reading, sorry for the long rant.
