i was gonna wait until i finished the bitd and deadlands line-ups before posting these, but i'm not gonna get those done before the final season starts, so might as well bite the bullet now XD woohoo, oxventure d&d designs! i'll go into further detail below the cut for all of my thoughts on these designs and reasoning for smaller details, but for now, just know that i will never draw a cape. i simply cannot do it. hoods and weird draped fabric or nothing XD

okay i put like. waaay too many thoughts into a lot of these small details so im gonna allow myself to geek out here X3 firstly - though they're way too small to read properly, i did the little symbol eye shines i used in my first art for them! dob gets music notes, prudence gets fire, corazón gets hearts, and merilwen gets flowers. i usually draw egbert's pupils pretty thin to resemble a reptile, so he just gets normal eye shines, but i probably could have given him some here... he would get suns if i thought of that

dob - muscular in a wiry and dehydrated way, lol, hence having a more defined stomach/hips despite not being as strong as prudence or egbert. he has sad/down-turned puppy dog eyes at all times because i think the big-eyed endearing look is fitting for him, though i do make them darker blue than his canonical baby blues because i just... like how dark blue eyes look, lol. i'm pretty sure he canonically has the stomach scar, and obviously his facial scar has always been there, but i gave him a couple other ones just to show that hes pretty reckless. and he gets freckles because even though they arent mentioned in the dragon dogma's video, i noticed luke added some and. i like freckles a lot

prudence - i've said this before, but i love the thought of pru getting muscular after the werebear bite <3 i just think she should be a little bit hench. as a treat. once again, the heavy stomach scarring comes from the dragon dogma's video, because i found their design choices in that really fun. i change prudence's outfit the most out of any of the characters, just because her canonical outfit confuses me. i'm really bad at understanding/drawing fantasy wear as is, but her fit... i'm lost entirely XD so i free-balled a bit. her inner sleeves that hook around her fingers are based on jane's various prudence looks, and then the looser outer sleeve is just because i love prudence with a dramatic sleeve. originally the colors were closer to her canon outfit, but it just looked messy without all the details of the original, and then i tried red like jane's prudence looks but it didn't contrast enough with her skin. so i restricted them to just deep purples and black with pops of gold and dark magenta!

corazón - what can i say besides. transgender. LMAO honestly though, besides adding the top surgery scars, i just really like his canon look. i simplified the details, obviously, but i really love his big coat and his tall boots and the earrings and the black-on-black-on-black of it all. i didn't particularly feel like drawing hats when i was doing this, lol, so i stuck with a red bandana instead. the beads that are strung from it are black, red, purple, green, and yellow to match their guild's canonical color associations/the colored name plates they get in later seasons :] because corazón is the sentimental sort, even when he won't say it. also he gets a little cateye for his eyeliner, i dunno if i've ever said why i do that before haha

egbert - egbert my dearly beloved. literally just his canon look except he has la vache mauve on his tunic instead of fire! and the nose spikes i give him, i guess, but i forget those aren't canon. i actually usually draw him in mike's egbert get up, with the black robes and the golden dragon sigil, but i kinda wanted to move away from that to lean more into the end of legacy of dragons, where egbert fully commits to never going back to the dragon d'or. also i just love drawing little cow heads <3 also! i like the idea that rather than typical scar tissue, dragonborns grow thicker scales over places where they've been injured. so the thicker patches of small scales on egbert's body are meant to be scars! including his kidney scar, lol. the larger scales and the ones on his face were always there though, that's just dragonborn biology baby

merilwen - if i said i based merilwen's body on cartoon bears, would you forgive me... i just think it's cute LOL tummy <3 for the final dragon dogma's video reference, that's where her freckles and tattoos come from. ellen was right, merilwen with floral tattoos fucking rules. who am i to deny it. as a hairy woman myself, i also like making merilwen a hairy woman. she's a hippie, she would NOT shave. i also really love the red earrings she wears in her canon art, so i tried to carry that through to some other small parts of my drawing for her, and landed on the bands she has on her pants as well as the odd feather for her arrows. fun archery fact, for those who may not know - in modern archery at least, you usually will have a differently colored feather (or for my arrows, rubber fins lol) that indicate how youre meant to string the arrow! so i took advantage of that to give merilwen some more red, hehe

Extra comment: Yup, I'm voting for a Sky Islands room. This one's just so neat and creative that I honestly feel like it deserves it. (Plus, look closer - how many botomless pits do you see there? The answer does indeed play a huge part in why I like this thing)

For the rooms that we'll be covering today, we've got some from our favorite plant filled regions - starting with BROKENDRAIN from OE. Well, yeeeaaahhh, this one's really nothing special. I mean, if this was the only room that had this sort of tall tower-y layout with water at the bottom, then sure, I'd value it quite a lot. But this region has a rather high number of them, and this particular one really doesn't do enough to set itself apart from the rest. It's not awful, and it does have some neat details, like the water pouring out from the entrance pipe, or the purple symbols on the side. But things like that won't carry a room, unfortunately.

However, this poll does still contain a good array of unique rooms, one of the most notable examples being C01. Honestly, I really wasn't expecting this one to perform the best, but I frankly don't mind that at all. The visual design of this thing is quite exceptional, even by Rain World standards. But the gameplay works well too, as climbing upwards is quite fun, and the Pole Plants were admittedly, a pretty smart thing to add. The original version of this room doesn't have any, so players won't be expecting them, but careful ones with keen eyes will be able to tell that "Wait a minute, those poles aren't supposed to be here!", thus they will be rewarded for consistently inspecting their surroundings, and always keeping their guards up. It's just good design, and I'm glad to see that it's getting appreciation.

Now, for the bonus rooms, we've got some pretty wild ones. The first being C10 from Subterranean.

Well what can I say, it sure is a maze-y Filtration System room. This one is sort of special thanks to its little Pole Plant/Monster Kelp section to the left, which never fails to spook a traversing Slugcat that doesn't expect enemies like this in such an area. Outside of that, it holds up fine. The spawns are generally fair, and the layout is alright as well. This one gets the 7/10 seal of approval from me.

And for last one of today, we got C05 from the Past Garbage Wastes. It's kind of funny that I missed this one, because fittingly, I don't really use it. I know many players love to go towards this direction when they start out as Artificer, and I'll never understand why. It is so obviously not where the game is wanting you to go, and it makes your route a whole lot more complicated, whereas the other way quickly gets you to Shaded Citadel, which would grant you immediate access to both The Exterior and Waterfront Facility. Eh, whatever, the room itself is decent, but I do also find it funny that it didn't get enough votes to progress. Maybe the whole 'Arti goes left' thing is just a YouTuber/Streamer/content creator obsession? (Though both Lunan and BobtheGuy has made it work in surprisingly few attempts, so I can't really blame 'em, tbh)

If we ignore all that, I do think the layout of this one is solid, it was a great background in that rightside area, and I like the color palette of this one more, than the present one's. It also gives you a great spot where you can throw bombs at the toll from, without putting yourself in danger (which I definitely didn't abuse to commit warcrimes when I needed kill points in Expedition), which ends up putting it into the lower parts of 8/10. It is a great room, I just don't think you should be using it much.

“If you won't do it then I'll”, he grits his teeth, more like in a cute way making you chuckle. You glance at him through the book you're reading at the moment, winding up to relax from the long day.

“Well then you lose”, you coo. He plops on a farther end of the bed, bringing himself to sit on his heels.

“Why are we even doing this in the first place baby?”, he whines, tapping on your ankles a little to catch your attention. First of all you are taking a really childish challenge way too seriously and acting like a brat on top of that.

“You started it”

“I was drunk!”, he fights back, his doe shaped eyes enlarging to show his disappointment.

“It's just a few more hours Jeon. Don't be so impatient hm?”, you don't look up at him. Going on and about teasing him. He did like it sometimes, but right now wasn't the time.

To put more context, Jungkook drunk confessed that he is addicted to your lips and kept kissing them all through a party and you sort of pricked on his lack of self control. And since Jungkook is a man fond of challenges, he immediately makes a very dramatic toast with half a glass of his liqor that he won't touch you or kiss you for an entire day.

And as usual, his sober self has to bear with the consequences. To take things further down the hole, you are wearing only an oversized hoodie, fresh scent of your shampoo and skincare products around the air, sitting there with a bare face and focused eyes, though that might be just a play you're putting up.

“Aren't you going to change, just gonna sit there? Go take a shower Jungkook you are stinking”, you add, and it's a lie. He smells like his expensive collection of perfumes and much more boyfriend enough to not kiss, but...you know, ego.

To summarise, he had enough of this.

The book is yanked away from your hand. His strong hands builds a cage around your small frame and presses it against the headboard of the bed. He smirks, realising it only takes the bare minimum to make you falter.

“Baby you make me the happiest man alive”, he sobs. His hands still trembling to place the ring on your fingers. It's lavish and work of custom made beauty, he put months of work into it. Though things didn't go exactly planned, it was a happy ending. Psych I made one more of these :3

I drew up this side character for Art Fight purely because she is one of my bestie @battychaichilla's favourite designs and she wanted to be able to draw an attack of her this year!

Her name is Hakima, she's a Panamanian golden frog who is a former cop turned fire fighter. She's quite serious and cynical, and doesn't trust people easily, though she's made it her life goal to protect others. Some quick-fire fact about her: She is the physically strongest character in STS, she enjoys running and working out, she likes singing (though few have ever heard her), and she loves solving puzzles/problem solving. I'll put some more info about her, along with an old traditional drawing of her under the cut!

If you've been following me for long enough you know that Zed's working name was Zeteki, but you might not know that the reason why. When I designed them in college, my friend mentioned that his brother's Pokémon X starter Froakie had been nicknamed 'Zeteki' because it was a cool sounding frog name, so with the same knowledge I applied it to Zed. An Atelopus Zeteki, where the name came from, is actually the Latin name of the Panamanian golden frog, and clearly Zed is not one of those so the name didn't stick, however it made me want to design an actual Panamanian golden frog OC, and that's how Hakima was begat!

She's originally from Pakistan (I've tentatively based her hometown on Naushahro Feroze), so she grew up speaking mainly Urdu, but she also speaks English (with a cockney accent) because she was brought up in London. She later learnt British sign language while she was training for her emergency service roles because she didn't want that to be a barrier if she ever needed to help a deaf person. Even though she's renounced her police role, she still has a penchant for investigation and research, so if she feels compelled to she will help look into things for people in need.

She meets the members of Spawn on her last day of police work completely by chance when she overhears Zed playing the keyboard in a park near where she was patrolling. She's not particularly keen on any of them at first, but when she quits her job she unwittingly moves to a fire station in Silk Town (where Spawn is based obviously) and she then has to deal with several people all trying to befriend her at once! She does gradually get to know them a bit better and relaxes around them, getting on best with Zed, Larva and Arrow. She had a brief infatuation with Zed that she accepted could not be returned because they're aromantic, but she got over it pretty quickly.

She's actually a side character I hardly ever draw because I never really know what to do with her, so you can thank Bat for inspiring me to develop her into what she is today!
