Long story short, NUSA got the Night City (and the rest of the states), Kurt became a war hero and General in the Pentagon; Rosalind and Kurt still are in a secret relationship; Wiosna wasn't neglected and her grandma raised her, she never became a netrunner, and wasn't forced to study, instead she is worldwide known traditional ballerina. Traditional ballet - In my headcanon it's the form of ballet strictly performed by people without any body cyberware (Only personal slot and Kiroshi are allowed for function in society). Technically, General Hansen is a single guy, so Wiosna hits on him 🤭 Longer AU explanation/context that I wrote on Discord under the cut, lol sorry if it's messy

AU where time traveler moved a chair and NUSA did won Unification War, and Wiosna grew up well. Colonel Hansen is now 4-star General Hansen with position in pentagon. Buuuuuuut, he is still in a secret relationship with President Myers. At the time of 2076 it's already 12 years of dating in secret, they should be married already! So of course he's super frustrated relationship wise.

Wiosna is a worldwide recognized ballet dancer and a prima ballerina of her grandmother's ballet company. She never became a netrunner, and never studied psychology, but she is 100% organic at the peak of her dancing career. Wiosna is also rumored to soon join the LoveSky SMC board as a part of her grooming process to take over later. Basically, in this scenario her position is what she is running away from in the main AU. She is a Goldenbaby with power capable of influencing countries.

Now get this. Some bougie party for rich and powerful. Rosie is there of course, General Hansen is there as well. And there's a ballet play starring an international star. The same star happened to have a grandfather with influence over space, so after play, she also takes part in the more closed section of the party. That's where a guy looking like a tank of a man catches her attention and she hits on him. Of course it's our Kurtie! Who is more than interested, and maight been a bit clumsy about it in front of everyone. No one would cared tbh, except Rosie, of course. Someone was hitting on her man. And that someone wasn't just any other gal.

Kurt couldn't just say no to Wiosna. Mostly because of who she was, but also because she was much much younger attractive woman, who wasn't scared to publicly show that she's interested in him. He was flattered. His ego got stroked. But nothing beside talk didn't happen between them. They exchanged numbers tho.

So later, when Kurt and Rosie got back home, Ros of course is a bit angry, and jealous.

Rosie: So, did you enjoy your company tonight? Kurt: Miss Kochanowska is a… really lovely lady. Rosie: She is young enough to be our daughter, Kurt. 1. When have they been unable to save someone or something no matter how much they tried?

That would be his former girlfriend Reva he has been together with in Portland before he changed his life and moved to Night City. Reva fell into a hopeless cyberspychosis caused by adding more and more chrome to her body that was more like cheap scrap metal infected with lots of malware and at a certain point it took away her entire humanity. Once V noticed in his own drugged mind (as he used to take blue glass) that something is not right with her anymore, he tried to save her so hard. To talk her out of adding more and get it checked before installing. She grew very violent because of it and nearly killed V one day with her Mantis Blades (hence he's got the throat cyberware) so he had to defend himself to stay alive by uploading a brainware blowout to her in self defense. He's traumatized forever by that and has nightmares about it. Reva is a good example why Vijay is so concerned about his best friend Ryder as Ryder too walks at the edge of Cyberpsychosis but the difference between Ry and Reva is that Ry wants help to get rid of his problems, Reva didn't. Vijay will do everything to save Ryder. The installed mod is only a temporary help and also a safe option for V (as he fears out of control Ry wth blades out as well -> ptsd trauma) until they find a solution.

5. What's their moral compass like?

Thyjs is pragmatic and goal-oriented, values discipline, structure and rules, aligning himself with authority figures to maintain societal order. He does not care about what others think of his actions, he only cares about his actions being correct according to his moral code. But he dos not lecture his code to others. Moral decisions don’t come into the equation for him so even if he hurts others in carrying out his duty, he feels barely anything. It’s just business. So, when it comes to taking a life, Thyjs may do so if it aligns with the rules and laws he follows (aka Militech), even if it seems morally ambiguous. His actions are guided by a commitment to a well-ordered society, and he may prioritize the greater good over individual moral considerations. Because Thyjs as a Lawful Neutral can appear to be emotionless in following his laws it is easy for him to appear Lawful Evil. However, unlike Lawful Evil, he does not do it for enjoyment, nor is he seeking to spread evil in society. There's also the fact that some of the combat drugs he took infected his decisions. Thyjs will eliminate others while defending his allies. In fact, he will follow any order given to him by a person in a position of power in the system of order that he follows. He was raised to be like this since he was a child. When in society, Thyjs will always act as is fitting for his role and position in society and expects others to do the same. As an ally, he is honest and trustworthy and will never break promises.

7. What's their pain tolerance?

Ryder has a very high pain tolerance. That has mostly to do with his Berserk system as it compensates the taken damage for more strength but even before he installed that cyberware, he somehow learned to endure pain more or less, both physically and mentally as neither his childhood nor his young adulthood were painless. Beast also inflicts a lot of pain to him, especially when he's not able to controll it and is doomed to watch it using him. It's hard to describe this pain he's feeling. But coming back to physical pain, e.g. during fights. No matter how hard he will be slammed against something he will get up and continue to fight as said berserk helps him to compensate and ignore it for a certain time spawn. He already broke several rips without knowing, even tho he's got dermal armor as protection installed. When he eases back down only then he might feel something at least distorted when it's not broken. He won't be whiny about it tho – it's the contrary, he acts like it's nothing. Vijay (and later Thyjs) will have to command him to stay in bed and recover.

11. Do they have empathy? For whom? For what?

Hizumi has empathy for people that have same or similar interests as them. If you are totally into mythical creatures or even into their home country Japan, Hizumi will consider to like you faster than normal. They only like those with a good heart and soul and who appreciate their weird self as Hizumi likes to not talk mostly. So if you are someone who appreciates just their presence without feeling the need to constantly talk about certain topics they will appreciate you lots.

19. How do they view the world? Are they an optimist? A pessimist? A realist?

Jaysen views the world like a western – just in a modern setting. You have the outlaws (the bad gangers), you have the bankers (corporates), you have the sheriff (ncpd) and you have the bounty hunters (mercs). Only the strongest survive in it and a good bounty hunter knows how to get around and how to earn money. He's got an optimisitic world view and thinks all will play into his hands somehow and that he's too clever to be caught or locked up as his netrunner skills are above that of a normal runner and he will always find an escape route. And even bad days don't let him be pessimistic, he knows after bad days comes good ones as well.

Valentin got kind of pressured into getting his gorilla arms during his Wraith time.

It was an exchange with a Scav group, their ripper had left over faulty cyberwares to get rid of, and Valentin was the new guy and he needed optics anyway ; so he got Kiroshis (that they made sure to disconnect from every corpo-connections, those aren't connected to any public database) that won't turn into camouflage mode (that's why they always glow, it almost got him in trouble multiple time, before getting the goggles!) and old gen gorilla arms, that don't have the current synth skin technology and sense of touch

Not having 100% accurate sense of touch on his hands never really bothered him until he let himself love again. Not being able to feel his man's scars, stuble, wrinkles, under his fingers.

One evening, sitting on his cot looking at his hands, he let himself cry it out, spiraling into a dark pit of regrets and "what if" Mitch, who was tinkering at the desk, came to sit next to him. Cupping his face, he then told him about his time during the war, of the cool cyberarm he got after his flesh one got blown out, and how they ripped it out of him once war was over ; the good old generation arm he was now rocking never had any nerves or sensation at all.

"See sunshine, ya' got 50% on each hands. I'm 0/100, at least you're balanced!"

After some soft chuckles, they both crashed their faces together, cheeks against cheeks, Valentin being thankfull that he at least never got any face implants (and that's why they're seen snuggling face to face a lot, they can feel each others fully that way! 🧡)

AFHFH He always had the same face structure I guess the biggest change happened when I first got into modding, using AMM and Otis's camera ; when I noticed he had a visible beard (the stuble never showed up in photomode because of a vanilla bug) and that his hair wasn't bleached blonde but light brown-ish

I also decided to make his optics visible after Cam shared a cool mod with me (mod since got taken down I think? not sure)

Always trust your guts feeling and first impression. Share those feelings with trusted ones, don't be afraid to communicate your honest thoughts!

Even tho they had a rough start, him and Carol eventually became good friends. Valentin often reaching out to her for advice ; mainly with questions on the camp's tech, sometimes help with netrunning.

Once the rumors about his crush (that Panam made sure to propage in the vet's group) made the round, Carol came to him one evening to talk to him about Mitch ; that whatever it was, he shouldn't play with the old man's feelings, especially after the loss of Driss. Man got a thick skin but a soft heart. Valentin played dumb and confused as to what she was even refering to, but Carol didn't bought into his bullshit. Val apologised and promises not to hurt him, as his feelings were genuine and sincere, even tho he wasn't sure of what it truly was yet, he wasn't planning on making a fool of himself, sure that whatever he was feeling was one sided anyway. Turned out to not be the case of course ; Cassidy and Mitch often talked about it. Later on Cassidy and Carol regrouped with Teddy, Bob and Panam to talk about this, like a group of teenagers throwing hints and clues as to why they're "Obviously in love duUuUuh! bunch of gonks"

The usual Nomad stereotypes always comes to people's mind upon seeing Valentin in Night City, and they're often right

He's not at all made for city living, he'll get along with his nomad folks just fine, but becomes a wild, unaprochable raccoon in the streets, avoiding crowds and big areas.

Growing in a nomad camp, he never got the habit of washing himself daily (shower day was once in a week, or every two weeks depending of the area the clan was stopping at!) and his time with the wraith didn't helped in that regard. Having a shower in his NC's apart didn't changed anything to that either, only really cleaning himself when necessary. "Waste of time and energy", plus it's not like the cititzen of NC smells good anyway, he fade in the mass just fine!

Being in different field of expertise mean they often have to work far from one another.

In Arizona, being a known and trusted peer, Mitch often get calls from the big market to help with vehicle restoration, scouting area or general routine repair.

Valentin is starting to make a name for himself too, using his usual RVC00N netrunner blaze, sometimes being recognised by folks hearing that name on the road.

They often send each others little text to see if everything is alright, knowing the other is working and not waiting for an immediate reply

No special VP, just me wanting to see how different and at the same time similar both of them are.

They didn't know of each others existence for almost all their lives. V not until 2078. Jay knew earlier he's got a brother but only found him in 2078. So they grew up in entirely different surroundings: Vijay at a beautiful ocean side at first, in Monterey, then his teens in Portland, only coming to Night City in 2070. Jaysen grew up in Night City since he can remember. He never really left the place except for some visits in the badlands.

As adults, Vijay is the more reserved one while Jaysen is the rowdy one. And looking at least at Vijay's already written backstory, V had been a rwody teen/young adult while Jaysen hasn't gone this path bc his foster dad is a police officer who looked after him and brought him into the police (yes I somehow picture that Jay worked at the NCPD for a few years). Only when Jaysen went patrolling in the streets his more rowdy character seemed to have awakened. well he was quite stubborn as a kid already, tho.

I don't know very much about twins and their same or different interests but I like that they have some similar clothing taste yet it is still different. Jay is definitely more of a rocker boy type whilst Vijay is living in Vaporwave. But both like to listen to nu metal tunes for example.

V obviously shows openly he's bisexual through his clothing style. You do not see it on Jaysen, but he is bi as well (I thought about him being straight since I do not have a straight OC but something inside me says, nah he's also bi — maybe it is also only bc I am bi as well and tastes and likes do flow into your own OC's quite often).

Another funny thing I just realized is:

What Jaysen is now I had originally intended for Vijay to be at first. Like when I was still on PS4, I wanted him to look similar like Jaysen is pictured now. Not a cyberarm tho, but e.g. I was struggling hard when I created V if I choose the eye cyberware or the one on the neck. I decided for the neck in the end. Also 2071 V had same hair as Jay now. I intended to give Vijay some cowboy vibes since he's based of Clint's Blondie from the Dollars Trilogy, but when Vijay hopped onto the Vaporwave train thanks to me being able to start using mods, the cowoby thematic shifted further away from him. Now that I have Jay, I can give him that cowboy theme while V is continuing to immerse in his vaporwavy 80s dreamland. :P –

off topic: I don't know why but since I startd using that coole Vesnelle's hair for Vijay the original vanilla copper color from the game is gone on him. It looks way too bright and therefore unnatrual, but I wanna keep that hair on him. :/ I mostly edit the hair color in post processing, so it fits again.
