Okay part 2. I hope it's okay that I'm sending in parts because sometimes I forget stuff or lose track of everything I want to say. But last Broadway thing is that you can explain or spoil the Notebook characters thing since it confused me. I actually was reading about the staging of the rain yesterday which seems complicated. I'm always interested in this stuff like set design and some of the business stuff you mentioned too. The only thing with seeing this show is I heard it will really make you cry and idk if ive ever actually cried when watching a show before which seems weird cuz I saw Les Mis but don't think I cried. Did you cry when you saw the show..I'm just curious.

I also wanted to tell you that I slowly started reading again. I'm on like chapter 10 of This Summer Will be Different and also Funny Story. They're pretty different so can't really compare but I'm loving both so far so hopefully I can stick with it. I do think these two seem the most tropey compared to the other books so far and I think it's fun but it might also start to lose me so idk. I heard about both Happy Place and Funny Story also being made into movies too. Also it was just announced that Every Summer After will be a tv show apparently. Idk why cuz that reminds me too much of the summer I turned pretty, that's also a show. Actually I think Happy Place is supposed to be a show too. I guess I don't like when everything is made into a show when it could just easily be a movie. I get that you can add more stuff..I think I'm just less likely to finish a show than movie but I hope it's good. What do you think? I think they're easy to imagine as movies but it's just hard to imagine the casting if that makes sense. I also might try to read the Outsiders and Gatsby at the same time too apparently but we will see lol. I'm glad you've been enjoying your reads and always check out your recommendations.

Happy August! Lol I can't believe it's August already. I hope you have a great month. I remember I meant to reply to you sooner to say something about the anniversary of your eras show but for some reason I forgot. Then mine just passed which is already a week after yours but I still thought about you. I can't believe that was my last concert and my next will be my other favorite artist at the end of this month. For collabs, I just think about the re recordings and I think someone once suggested Noah Kahan on debut and I wouldn't mind that. I've also thought of Kelly Clarkson for debut which is something I would really want for 10 year old me and Tim McGraw so it can be kinda full circle and maybe how she collabed with Keith Urban. I haven't thought of any collabs for rep actually and I would even like it if it didn't have any..like 1989. I would say Halsey and maybe Selena if she decides to release Need. Lorde is also a popular answer I wouldn't mind but idk if these are likely. There may have been Sabrina Carpenter collab rumors at some point and I enjoy their voices when they sang together but don't know what it would be like or for rep or debut. Or it could just be okay..like the Gracie one so who knows. I would also love Soccer Mommy on debut since she covered a debut song and she's from Nashville. She toured with the National so maybe Taylor knows who she is and that would make me very happy. What about you?

What do you think of the possibility of rep being announced or released pretty soon this year? There's a lot of theories about it being announced possibly today actually. Part of me thinks she wouldn't release it for a while but part of me also thinks she would wanna release it before tour is over. I don't know how I feel about debut but I doubt they would be released this soon cuz we got a new album this year. I have no idea anymore though honestly. She also could release while she is on a break from tour next month so it's hard to know. That's what she did with TTPD. What do you think?

Soccer Mommy also just announced her new album yesterday and I am very excited for it! It's called Evergreen and comes out in October. I actually think this album will be a little different for her..like more mellow which I was saying reminded me a bit of Folklore. Now with the name..it also reminds me of Evermore too and I love that connection so much. It could be her version of a fall album which also reminds me of Red and the name having green in the title and green is my favorite color. I know that's irrelevant to the meaning but it was funny cuz it reminded me of Red. I totally recommend her music. I will listen to Clairo today and give my opinion but I like what I've heard so far. What else have you been listening to? Sorry if I forgot anything but as always I hope you are doing well and have a lovely weekend!

and yes! happy to explain notebook to you, although i will be able to do a better job after i see it again — do you mind if we wait a few weeks and then i get back to you on the notebook! i have cried at many a show! i am a crier! i cry at everything! i was actually talking to my friend allison tonight about that; the shows i've cried the most at were waitress, and ragtime for sure. but waitress even more so (which means ... seeing it in san francisco in january with two of my best friends — who don't know each other — is going to be a fun way to start off a trip). i've cried at cinderella. for no reason at all. i think it'd be easier to name a show that didn't make me cry haha. it's just ... the magic of theatre! that being said ... i did not cry when i saw les mis on tour last year, so do with that what you will!

AHHHHHHHH! I WANNA CRYYYY TTwTT/ 

I showed Wraith the first 2 episodes of Uta no Prince-sama AND HE REALLY REALLY LIKED IT. GAH ! I AM JUST LIKE. SO HAPPY??? I CAN’T EVEN CONTAIN Y JOY! See, I knew he would like it because we both have a deep, personal connection to music! And when in ep 2 Otoya talked about how he wished to sing songs that can cheer up others, Wraith was like:

“Oh....oh my God... I feel that.... ow...”

And that’s when I knew he was definitely gonna be in for a good ride o>w<o we will watch some more on Sunday! <3 And he LOVED Nanairo no Compass and Brand New Melody ;w;p he was impressed by the music YAY! AHHH I’m just really happy that we’re having fun with it and like he made me feel more reasurred, cuz I’m kinda like Nanami, I would need to be trained to read music. Wraith has played piano for years and knows how. But when he was reassuring me that you don’t necessarily need to be book smart to play or sing good music, I just AGHHH I CAN’T DESCRIBE THE LEVEL OF REASSURANCE I FELT. I love Wraith’s piano playing. The first time he played for me I cried eheh.  Now I’m really emotional ;w;o this probably doesn’t mean anything to anyone  but I just..... I can’t help how I feel and I had to say it somewhere.  I’m so happy that I can share my feelings with more people about one of my favorite shows ;w;o it makes me SO happy & makes me feel less alone <3!

list of reasons i find Brook ridiculous

for brook’s birthday, ive decided to follow up my other two posts of this genre by dragging yet another idiot swordsman. i have everybrook open on my phone next to me. here we go

- first and foremost his most ridiculous crime is existing. as he’s already so ridiculous as a character, im going to talk only about things hes done

- i want to know, did Brook make a conscious effort to change his laugh to sound like his favorite song? how long did it take? what was the in between period like? what did his crew have to say about this? the rumbar pirates were big on playful teasing, did they let Brook live this down? 

- ALTERNATIVELY: was brook’s laugh already like that? is that why bink’s sake is his favorite song? is that why it was York’s favorite-- oh we only made it two bullet points before i made myself sad

- relatedly i cannot make fun of anything Brook did in his backstory it will make me too sad. hes spared for now

- i DO want to say from a writing standpoint its so fucking ridiculous to me that he mentions twice being a convoy captain in the past and it never comes up again. oda?? why even bother to include something that cool if you weren't even going to do anything with it?? you could have said hes just always been a pirate but no. oda?? oda

- there was that bit where a bunch of people thought Brook was satan and addressed him as such (i think Satan-sama in the original, and the translation i read was like... Lord Satan or Lord Demon or something). not only did Brook never correct them, but he also ran with it and later used this case of mistaken identity as a reason to threaten to eat a man’s heart 

- also both men and women were showing him their underwear in that bit. bi rights

- those satanists let Brook get kidnapped while saying they would try to summon him back. do you think they're still at it

- Brook is older than... basically every old man in the series. Garp, Whitebeard, Rayleigh... all of them. something about that is so weird to me and i cannot place why

- Brook has seen and can prove the existence of an afterlife in One Piece canon and its then never addressed again

- Brook missed so many huge events while being dead. im looking at a timeline rn and these include the obvious, like, roger’s execution and subsequent effect on in-world culture and society and whatever. but also things like the destruction of ohara (which was in his home sea), the founding of the world power known as the revolutionary army (which was about 20yrs ago), and the births of every other member of his crew. wack

- he seems to know about stuff related to the pirate king post time skip, and i wonder if thats because someone told him or he’s just playing along now. maybe he just thinks Luffy made up the term pirate king cuz it sounds cool and he wants to support his captain’s interests

- if he DID ask though, like, who did he ask? his managers? did he pull aside some fan asking for an autograph at a concert like “hey, you look like a knowledgable young lad, mind helping me out?”

- i would love to be there when someone takes the time to explain roger, the pirate king, raffle, the One Piece.... and Brook asks them “what is the One Piece?”.... and someone has to look him in the eye (...or not) and tell him “i don't know” 

- Brook has technically died of fright (his soul left his body), like... at least once? it was luffy’s fault

- Brook was an urban legend on the florian triangle and i doubt he even knows that about himself

- when they're heading to fishmen island Brook gets all scared when they encounter a possible ghost ship and Usopp slaps him

- when captured by big mom he sleeps so godamn soundly and securely that he is harder to wake up than she is and this fact nearly gets a bunch of his crew killed

- Brook is the only character i can think of who has ever broken the fourth wall. he only did it once. maybe seeing the afterlife means he now knows hes in a manga. or maybe being isolated for 50 years just made his head be not screwed on right

- speaking of, there’s a bit in WCI at the wedding where Brook is decapitated. i don't know how it goes in the anime, but in the manga like... no one is shown to have decapitated him. his head just pops off. maybe he was just having fun

- also the bit where he rips the fake face off in wci. when someone calls him gross he cries

- there’s a bit in fishmen island where Brook is trying to ask Nami if he can see her panties (disgusting bastard) and he inadvertently protects her from being dehydrated by some guy they were fighting. except the panel setup reminds me a lot of / mimics ace protecting Luffy from Akainu, and it haunts me

- speaking of bits from fishmen island that haunt me, there's a page where it’s strongly implied Brook fucked a mermaid (maybe two). i will of course include the page here

- yeah. sorry. 

- when Brook first meets the strawhats he invites himself inside because “it’s cold out!” but he later admits in punk hazard that he cant feel cold. he was just lying

- no one introduces himself to Brook except Luffy for the entirety of thriller bark

- half related, Franky cradles Brook in his arms / carries Brook around for like a full scene in thriller bark 

- there's a link two second bit in film gold where the crew is just relaxing while they're planning for how they're going to get Zoro back and they're all shown eating burgers from pirate mcdonalds or whatever. and Brook is eating a burger and hes so messy that hes got burger on his forehead, and Franky is next to him just looking at him

- Brook also wears fake skin in that movie

- Brook has a running gag where he gets upset when things refuse to eat him and i was going to make a joke about it but im wondering if maybe hes just afraid of being left behind........ made myself sad again

- he cries when a dragon won't eat him tho

- Brook admits to reading monster hentai when talking to Sanji and Kin’emon and if i have to be burdened with knowing that so do you

- when hes trying to figure out the weakness of the zombies on thriller bark he overhears one ate a salted fish and lost its shadow and immediately assumes “oh, must have been the fish!” idiot man

- where does his sword cane go when hes not using it. it just appears. where does he store it

- there's a bit where the strawhats all use a combo attack at thriller bark and the first step is firing an electrically charged Brook in a slingshot through oars/oz. he ends up in a wall and no one ever pulls him out. i don't even think the manga shows how he got down

- enemies post time skip regularly assume Brook is dead when they manage to knock the crew out and it makes me wonder how popular of a rock star Brook actually was

- Brook goes on a mini rant to no one while they're descending to fisherman island where he wonders aloud how he sees without eyes and it makes me lose it

- this isn't Brook technically but Nekomamushi is based on a song Brook’s voice actor wrote about his cat.

- Brook literally doesn't have a brain. like i know we all know that but its so fucking funny. we make jokes about other strawhats only having one braincell or whatever but Brook straight up 100% just has a seashell where his brain is supposed to be 

-  why does he have rubber glove looking hands when hes haunting the castle at wano i fucking hate them

- relatedly, there’s a bit where Brook mentions he’s been, at kinemon’s interaction, sitting in a well for like... possibly days? is he okay

- honestly i love everything about Brook’s actions as a ghost in wano bc its so fucking funny but my FAVORITE fact is that Brook is in the wikipedia article about starving skeletons

Oh those teen!Penn scenarios are amazing. I definitely think it would be funny pre-Runaway Five cuz there's this kid who's a spitting image of Five and Reader and he has to pretend it's some big coincidence for as long as he can get away with it.

And post Runaway Five it would be just as funny cuz the Teen!UA have no perception of what's going to happen so Penn's very existence is shocking for them but also somewhat sad.

I feel they'd see his random ticks. Like he frowns and twitches in irritation the Exact same way Five does when he can't figure out a problem. And his laugh is exactly the same as Reader's to the point that Diego sometimes has a heart attack and runs into the parlor to find Reader but instead it's Penn there. And one time Vanya is making Five's nightly PB and M sandwiches and Penn is in the kitchen too and looking eagerly l and then her eyes fill with tears cuz he looks so much like Five did when making himself a sandwich; so eagerly childlike amidst his stoicness. It's the only thing young!Five allowed himself to enjoy so openly and Penn inherited his love of them too. So Vanya promises him she'll make him one too and Penn just BEAMS the way Reader used to when Vanya finished playing one of her new songs for her and Penn gives her a hug with a "Thanks Auntie V" and it's just so so hard for Vanya to not cry. And Ben comes across Penn bookmarking the pages in a book the same way Reader did and Penn looks at him with concern the same way she used to as well and he misses her so much because she understood him and he misses Five too because he was the only sibling that did his best every mission to make sure Ben didn't have to use his powers and that the rest of them killed the criminals without the horrors being needed. Just the Hargreeves noticing Reader and Five in Penn and missing them even more cuz we need that angst.

However, I feel like Penn would be an uncontrollable little shit regarding Reggie. Penn absolutely loathes his grandfather (all the Hargreeves cousins do). Reginald finds out about this superpowered kid and thinks it's Five come back cuz he sees the flash of blue from the blink. But then he sees Penn who snorts derisively when he sees Reggie.

Reginald: Interesting. You're not Number Five. Who are you?

Penn: No one you need to concern yourself with.

Reginald: Have his lippy attitude too

Penn: His and Mom's

Reginald: His son then? Makes sense Reader would be your mother. They did have a special connection to each other and she was worse than him when it came to that sharp tongue.

Penn: *sarcastically* Nothing you don't deserve. Much less, actually.

Reginald: *ignoring the insult* What can you do then? Do you have his powers? Hers? Or both?

Penn: None of your beeswax Old man. I ain't here to be tortured by you the way you did to Dad. Oh and he TOTALLY could Time Travel by the way. Guess the great Reggie ain't so great and all knowing at all huh?

Reginald: I never said he couldn't. Just that he wasn't ready

Penn: And Dad proved you otherwise anyway. Funny how easy it is to do that. I'm not showing you what I can do. It none of your business.

Reginald: I'm your grandfather. I taught your father everything he knows. His tutelage would hardly be sufficient for your full potential considering he left in the middle of it.

Penn: *laughs mockingly* No you didn't. He taught himself. He was born with what he could do and so was Mom. You're just an Ordinary. Old. Man. Can't take credit Dear Gramps. Everyone in this room is more powerful than you.

Teen!UA: *scared but impressed and also inspired*

Penn: Also his tutelage is better than yours anyway. I decide how much I want to learn and what Mom and Dad teach me. Just more proof they're better parents than you.

Reggie: *is speechless* (with offense or horror at Penn's "wasted potential" no one knows)

Penn: Anyway I'm gonna go ask Grandma, you know the grandparent that actually does know how to love her own kids and grandkids, to make me some cookies while I wait for Dad to come and get me. Unlike you, he actually cares about where I end up when mistakes are made.

Just Penn making up for every single jab and harsh truth Five and the Hargreeves couldn't give to Reggie when they were children because they were too young and terrified to know better.

When Five finally does show up to get Penn, Five hugs him instantly and looks him all over for injuries and Penn hugs him back and says "Thanks for being the best Dad" and Five feels overwhelmed cuz he wasn't expecting it but it's good to know he's not Reginald especially after meeting him again. And the Teen!UA realize even further that parents are supposed to keep you out of danger instead of sending you into it and berating you if you avoid getting hurt.

Bonus: Penn tells past!Grace she's Five's and Reader's son and Grace loves her children and she'd love her grandchildren too and she just smothers him with love because she missed her little boy so much and it makes her so happy to know that Five eventually has a son. (We need to include Grace in more of these. She deserves best mom award).

(Im really attached to these Time Travel Penn headcanons now so sorry if it's all I talk about for the next how many asks xD)

I love all of this, but now I have some more ideas.

1) Reginald tries to get the Teen!UA minus Vanya to fight Penn so he has to demonstrate his powers. Of course at this point he knows how to counter them without actually demonstrating anything so he just stands there with a cocky smile similar to his dad’s as Reginald becomes more and more infuriated.

2) Grace says that she misses Reader playing the piano so Penn takes his grandma’s hand and leads her to the parlor. Penn spots the piano in the corner of the parlor all covered up and dusty showing it had been untouched for years. Penn becomes a little sad because he realizes the last person to touch the piano was his mom as a child before she went missing with his dad. He pulls the cover off, sits down and starts to play it for Grace just as well as his mom. The teen!UA are off around the house but when they hear the piano echo through the house they’re all drawn to it. Teen!diego and Vanya are so uplifted and so sad about it because they see so much of the reader in Penn and it’s nice to know she’s doing well but it also hurts because she’s not there. At some point he asks teen!Vanya to play with him and she almost cries again because he asks for the song that was Vanya’s favorite to play with reader.

3) Teen!Klaus is curious about the future and his future self so Penn tells Klaus a bunch of lies about it because it’s funny.

Could I request one where the reader and Jask were doin it but got interrupted, so they have to stop and go somewhere and they're both just really frustrated/on edge the whole night cuz they keep teasing each other and they're just waiting for the opportunity to get the other alone. 😏

“This is all your fault,” Jaskier snapped. You shot him a withering glare.

“How is this my fault?” you seethed, words whispered under your breath so only he could hear. You both painted on smiles and clapped politely with the rest of the party at the performer who had just finished their aria.

“We had agreed to wait until after the party to… take our own enjoyment. But you had to wear that,” he said the words disdainfully his eyes were all adoring as they lewdly swept your form. The fitted bodice shaped you temptingly and the color brought out your eyes. You did look quite good but you scoffed. There had been no seduction of either party that night. Both of you had seen the other and in an instant known that you couldn’t wait, sneaking off to an empty pantry to try and get a quick release of some of the tension between you. You’d been so close, both of you approaching your high when the pantry door nearly swung open. You’d thankfully been gripping it at that moment but if you hadn’t been you’d have both been quickly escorted away from the party and then Jaskier would have lost valuable coin and you would have lost all respect you’d managed to scrounge up in polite society. The frustration you both felt had you on edge in every sense of the word.

“If you can’t control yourself perhaps I should go home, your entertainment isn’t worth this sniping,” you bit back. Jaskier pulled you behind the column you were standing by and shucked your skirt up, sliding his arm under them to feel you. You were still dripping wet and warm and aching with need for him. He smiled at you smugly, fingers brushing against your tender nub a couple of times before swiftly pulling away at the sound of footsteps approaching. You both smiled casually at the couple who walked past, neither of them aware of the way you clenched your thighs together tight or the painful grip you had on Jaskier’s wrist. Once they were gone Jaskier fixed you with that smug smile that made you want to slap him. Instead you pressed close and (after a quick look around the foyer) boldly groped him, dropping that smile immediately as you felt his still hardened length tucked in the waistband to hide. A small moan slipped out as you offered one, two, three slow strokes and then pulled your hand back, spinning around in view of the audience to clap for the next performer, and avoid retaliation.

“If you think I won’t take you in front of everyone here you’re deeply mistaken,” he snarled into your ear, his warm breath tickling you as he spoke.

“Do it,” you bit out, a dare and a hope. Your locked eyes held the gaze for a beat as you waited in breathless anticipation of what would come next.

“Bard!”

Jaskier swore under his breath and you exhaled slowly. He spun around, plastering a smile on his face, and crossed the room to fulfill his duty, offering another song while you watched. He played a song about a lusty maiden who tempted every man in town and though you’d heard him writing it for days he sang the words at you so pointedly it almost felt as though he was coming up with it on the spot. The people clapped and danced and cheered but you stayed rooted to the spot. Watching him perform was always arousing for you but right now, as he shot you dark looks and you knew he was still hard and thinking about you and desperate to complete what you’d started, it was nearly unbearable. As soon as he finished his song he moved over to the host and you saw them talking. You couldn’t tell what was being said but the man handed Jaskier some coins and then the bard turned and made a beeline for you. He didn’t slow down when he reached you, he just took your arm and walked you out with him. You had to job slightly to catch up, glancing behind to see another bard take the floor.

“Jaskier what are you doing?” you asked, confused as he moved to pull you into the garden. The high hedges were covered in gorgeous blooms that looked like watercolors at the speed you were running along.

“I’m done performing for the night,” he said simply, winding you through the tall rows of blooms until you were deep inside and couldn’t see (or be seen by) the entrance.

“But the coin-”

“I took half, I would pay more for this,” he said, pausing so quickly you nearly ran into him. He pulled you in close and his mouth was on you, punishing in its insistence and already tearing at the laces of your bodice.

“No time,” you moaned into his mouth, reaching for his laces as he deftly lifted your skirts again. You fell over, tumbling onto the ground in each other’s arms, laughing at how desperately you needed each other. The laughter bled into moans as Jaskier freed himself and thrust into you. Not the slow, gentle, cautious thrusts he usually gave but needy, eager ones. He clapped a hand over your mouth as your moans grew louder and more guttural. You tore out handfuls of grass as you gripped the earth, already building towards your release as Jaskier fucked you. He leaned over, capturing your mouth with his, one hand slipping down to stroke you, tripping you off the precipice, tumbling into your orgasm that took you so suddenly you bit fiercely down on his bottom lip trying to stifle the sound. Jaskier followed you soon after, burying his head in your neck to muffle his cries.

As he helped you to your feet you looked between the both of you and started laughing.

“What is it?” Jaskier asked.

“Just… thank the gods you are done for the night because imagine trying to go back inside like this,” you said through your laughter.
