An example of the absurdity of los angeles' exclusivity: i talk a lot about the artist's house right? My one friend here who's community i do enjoy?? Well every year they have a new years eve party, and my friend has described it to me in detail and gone on about how wonderful it is, and how interesting the discussions are, and how much i would enjoy it. And then they told me its invite only and intentionally kept small - only the best of the best of the creative and /intellectual/ community - which must be distinguished because in LA intellectual and commercial do not often coincide.

Anyway then they told me i was not invited and never would be.

Utterly.#Usually if im not invited to a party i just dont get told about it #Usually because the people having the party dont know i exist or dont care so no fault of their own #Im saying usually the lack of invite isnt intentionally excluding me #I cant imagine a world where friendship is so thick on the ground that you put a limit to it #I dunno maybe thats my problem i want to try to befriend everybody and i dont like rejection
