Don't lie and tell me you actually care about me, I KNOW I was just a sex doll to you and you always loved Tong only!" Like I said, I think Ming playing it cool their entire relationship did not do him any favors re: convincing Joe at this late and chained-up stage that he was actually cared about lmaooooo but I am also torn between thinking that if Ming HAD been able to convince Joe he loved him in that moment, Joe would have sincerely fucked him with the chains on, and let Ming keep him there indefinitely as his basement boyfriend... and between thinking Joe's all-or-nothing reaction to Ming's affections was self-protective survival instinct, getting him the fuck out of there even if a small part of him not only wanted to believe Ming but did believe Ming in that moment. Like he couldn't LET himself believe Ming BECAUSE he needed to not give into the unhinged toxicity, rather than because he actually doesn't think it's possible for Ming to have started out using him but come to love him. Or maybe it's his broken heart and hurt pride that make it impossible to allow that his honeymoon period with Ming was fake but what came after it was real on Ming's end. Does any of that sense? What do u think?

I know nothing about what happens in the novel and that's making this an incredibly incredibly wild and fun ride but also may mean my interpretations are missing very obvious-to-the-readers context. Alas! But I am truly having a ball.

"Grandfather said you shouldn't use that word anymore," Picco replies automatically, then turns around to frown quizzically at his brother, now standing behind the couch and propping himself up against the backrest. "What d'you mean?"

Mokku makes a vague gesture at the TV screen, looking unimpressed. "Aliens. They don't look like that at all."

Picco resists the need to get mad about the comment, even though it's really hard. Screentime is one of the perks of this world, and he likes this show besides - there are robots and monsters and turtles that are ninjas, and yes, also aliens that look like brains with tentacles. "It's not supposed to be real. It's a cartoon. And how would you know that, anyway?"

"I met some of those. For one, they had clothes and hair, and they didn't want to kill everyone, either."

"You're lying."

"I'm not." Mokku clambers over the couch and plops himself down next to his younger brother, pointing at his nose. "See this? I was for real. They were a real pain in the ass, especially the one in Africa."

Fascinated despite himself, Picco glances away from the TV again and inches closer, eager to hear more. "Where's Africa?"

"It's a place down south. In this world, too. It's very warm and there are camels and bedouins and deserts."

"And why was there an alien in Africa?"

"Well, his parents were living in a pyramid, but they came down on a spaceship. He wanted to get out of there, so we played for a while. He looked like a peanut."

That sounds funnier than it ought to be; Picco has to suffocate a giggle with his hands before he can continue. "So that's the other aliens you saw? His parents?"

"No, there were more. Once they came to my town because they'd ran out of fuel for their ship. They gave me a- a potion that made things bigger, but I dropped it so all I got was a giant apple."

"Like the one in that book?"

"That was a giant peach, you dumbass."

"I'm not a dumbass!"

"Yes you are. You can't even remember the things you read, and you watch aliens that are wrong!"

"Shut up!"

The subsequent scuffle (friendly, quite harmless, not like the ones Mokku gets into at school just for the sake of it) could probably last forever, if it weren't for the voice coming in from the workshop that goes Do you boys want to bring the house down on my head? and that makes them quiet down instantly, turning their eyes back to the cartoon as though they'd been doing nothing wrong at all.

"What did you do with the giant apple?" Picco wonders aloud eventually, as they watch one of the turtle ninjas climb into a window.

Mokku shrugs, clearly disinterested. "We ate through it and lived in it for a while. Was bigger than our house anywhere."

"Oh." A pause. "Do you think August would let us live in a giant apple?"

"If he doesn't, we'll just find our own and not invite him." His brother seems to ponder on it a while, then says, with that mischievous glint in his eyes that he only gets when he's about to start some trouble: "Wanna go see if we can get some more aliens to come to this stupid places? I bet I can find the ones I helped again. Can't be too hard to contact them, right?"

It's a bad idea. It's a really, really bad idea. But by this point Picco is way too curious to find out what these actual aliens look like to think about what could possibly go wrong, and instead sits up enthusiastically, feeling a burst of excitement. "Yeah!"

The fake alien brains can wait. At worst, he'll catch a rerun.

I'm really surprised anyone actually enjoys/reads my writing because everything I write is so angsty it's like I'm allergic to happiness LMAOOOOO. The one time I actually wrote something remotely fluffy I feel like it's awful and so so so cringy YACK, but I guess other people enjoyed it so I can't complain too much!

But yeah I love the way the story is going in uf!Sukuna. I love writing the complexities of their relationship with each other and the people around them. I know the reader would love to be taken care of deep down but she'd neverrrrr allow that to happen. Like if they were in a super serious relationship and entirely happy together with no worries I can imagine him being like 'you should quit your job and let me take care of you.' And she would NEVER do that.

The idea of things going wrong and having lost everything because she trusted things would work out with him is just too big a gamble, especially with Megumi in the picture. It's one thing to be selfish and reckless when you don't havr responsibilities, but Megumi is a huge responsibility.

Also u referring to him as an old school lover boy has my heart SWOOOOOONING by the way I LOVE this maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!
