Branching Timeline 5
It have return after a short break where I rested my wrist a bit more, this one see’s the return of my terrible writing as I didn’t want to bother my friend with reviewing it and editing it as they’re in school now and that’s far more important. They did give me some pointers from the last time tho so I tried to take that and smash it into my writing lol.
After this one ends the i guess Lanayru arc? It starts the quest for the sacred flames at least and we’re gonna only be focusing on the more important bits so of course there will be jumping around. Idk how much writing tho I’m hoping to try and branch out the comic formatting a bit so I can get some questing montages in lol and If you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask!
Also this is all going to loop back around to the first comic I made for this whole thing which I have linked as “Oops” all the time, though that comic is more comedic (and the events will continue to be) I want to get a little more actual serious tension in there at least as a before and after so ye, idk how many more of these theres gonna be my pane is to tackle the Ancient cistern, the Fire Sanctuary, Idk about that sand sea (because I don’t think there’s too much I would change or would be of note other than them making fun of tentalus)
When it comes to those things I’m only really tackling big changes and important story notes.
that being said lets get on with it shall we?

____ As always if you notice things seeming out of order please lmk Tumblr formatting sucks
The leap into the air was a tough one, mostly given that it wasn’t so much as a leap as it was being violently tossed into the sky. Link would’ve thought his grip on the sail cloth would’ve given out due to the speed at which he was shot up, not to mention the height. Still despite all that the feeling was absolutely exhilarating, he was so caught up in the adrenaline he barely noticed when he’d broken the cloud barrier. If it hadn’t been for the view of Skyloft in the distance he would’ve fallen all the way back down, though he wouldn’t mind another trip up, he was too busy to mess around. Link let out a sharp whistle, unlike the events that started this whole mess, Link’s loftwing caught him in no time at all. The rush of being back in the sky was almost euphoric, the wind blowing through his hair, the warmth of his loftwing against the cold of the high atmosphere. The sun, clearly visible above the cloud barrier, beating down on his cheeks. Oh how Link had missed the sky. The crazy dives and flips he would do just for the sake of fun, exploring the many islands that littered the domain he called home. Link couldn’t wait to go home. His true home in Skyloft, the people he missed, the sights, and smells.
“Master Link,” Fi called from behind him, her form appearing in front of his loftwing miraculously keeping up with them. “I suggest getting your injury assessed by a medical professional once you’ve landed in Skyloft, as the damage done by the Demon Lord Ghirahim seems to have worsened since your battle with The Imprisoned.” Link swallowed a lump in his throat, the excitement he felt diminished replaced by a deep anxiety. He merely nodded to her, he could tell she knew something was wrong despite the constant absent look on her face yet she didn’t say anything more. With Fi now back in the sword he continued his flight back to his home, relief slowly masking the anxiety as Skyloft came into view.
Though he was expecting a welcome, Link wasn’t expecting one so warm, and so very loud. People crowded around him, each one inspected him to make sure he was okay, to make sure he was real. Some expressed disbelief, admitted to him that they hadn’t believed Zelda had found him, nor that he was actually alive. Link couldn’t blame them. Had he been in their position he may have thought the same, heck if Ghirahim had his way they would’ve been right!
Link tried to wade through the crowd, but found himself met with the faces of his classmates from the academy. Fledge ran to him first, out of breath as he was, the young man squeezed Link tightly. Link thanked the Goddess that the poor boy had little to no strength or that might’ve knocked the wind right out of him! Link was confronted next by Pipit who was overjoyed to see him in good health, as far as he could tell at least, the upperclassman did, however, comment on Link’s outfit. Pipit noted some of the items the hero was wearing resembled the ones that had gone missing a few days prior during Zelda’s last visit to Skyloft. Link tried not to think too much about it…
Karane had not been as loud or as smothering as the others, Link could, of course, see the worry that laid behind her eyes. She, like the other Skyloftians, gave him a once over with her eyes, a relieved sigh left her as she finally broke down about how worried she had truly been for him. For Zelda. Link was touched to find out how much his classmates had truly cared about him, even if in his heart of hearts he’d already known. It’s always nice to get a confirmation, you know? Even Cawlin and Stritch seemed to be relieved to see them as much as they blamed him for Zelda and Groose leaving Skyloft, and they were half right. As much as he protested, as he told his classmates he was in a hurry, he couldn’t stop them from dragging him into the dining hall. Henya looked the most surprised, and the most relieved, to see Link. She cooked them a grand meal, all around the table Link and his classmates chatted, they interrogated Link about his journey so far. They asked why Zelda wasn’t with him. They asked him if he was going to stay. Link answered the best he could, he omitted a few details he knew would upset them. When things had finally calmed down, Link sought a bit of privacy in his room, a room he hadn’t seen in what felt like years. He locked the door behind him. The familiar air of the room filled his lungs, as musty as it was now that it had been vacant for so long. Light dust covered the surface of his desk, his bed frame had the same issue. Link realized if he wanted to sleep without issue he’d most likely have to beat the dust off his pillow and blankets as well as clean off the more affected surfaces. He let his mind wander for a moment, he wondered if Zelda’s room had the same issue..
Link shook his head, he shouldn’t.. Though the thought of a hassle free rest did sound nice he couldn’t invade Zelda’s space like that. Even if he was just going to sleep in her bed. His mind went to Groose’s bed next but the same issue that plagued his mind with Zelda’s room came up there. Instead he subjected himself to clean the dust off the desk, to beat it from his pillows and blankets. He wiped down the bed frame already feeling the exhaustion from his day weigh down on his shoulders.
Link hadn’t realized he’d fallen asleep until he heard the angry chimes from the Goddess Sword that beckoned him awake. He pulled his face from his pillow, the rag he’d used to wipe down his bed still clutched in his right hand. Link tossed it aside and let out a yawn as he got yet another reminder from Fi to get his injury looked at by a medical professional, which he’d forgotten to do the day prior. Reluctantly he made his way back out to Skyloft, both to receive treatment and to finally begin his journey. The doctor he spoke to had nothing nice to say about the injury itself, and to be fair Link couldn’t blame them. This had been the first time he’d actually seen it, it stretched across his chest, parts of it were wide, the whole injury was jagged, it seemed to branch off. The small branches reached to infect the rest of him, or so it seemed. It was painful to touch, the pain lessened after a quick clean and some medicine, yet there was still a dull ever present aching. Link was told there was nothing the doctor could do due to the unknown nature of the injury, he was given a few bottles of healing salve and instructed to pick up a few potions from Luv. Neither of them knew if that would help.
Link spent the rest of his time in Skyloft trying not to think of the injury, he tried to pay attention to the task at hand. Though his thoughts were still ever occupied by the image of the injury, the doctors inability to help, the uncertainty that surrounded it. The more he thought about it the more his mind drifted back to that moment. The moment Link had pushed Zelda out of the way, the white hot pain that seared through him as Ghirahim’s blade cut cleanly through his skin. Link squeezed his eyes shut willing the thoughts away, pushing them deep down hopefully never to resurface ( to plague him in his nightmares).
When his eyes opened he found himself in the Isle of Song, Fi instructing him on Farore’s courage, instructing him on dowsing and how it worked.
“Thank you,” was all he could muster, Fi giving a nod almost as if she knew he hadn’t paid attention yet she ignored that fact. Zelda would know what to do of course. She always had. Fi now, once again, back in the sword Link did his best to follow what little instruction he heard. Heading back to Faron once more, he bid his farewell to Skyloft, to the people he didn’t have the chance to wish farewell before. Link knew he’d see them all again but it still felt bittersweet to say goodbye, even if just for a short time. Even with this bittersweet apprehension he was excited.
He couldn’t wait to see Zelda again.

Am I saying that it would be cool if we saw past Links again in botw 2 yes I am.
But what I’m actually saying is that Zelda should meet Sky and finally have a loving family member she can geek out to about ancient relics and maybe even learn about the relics Sky used in his adventure and just have a good time together bonding over robotic things and i just want good things to happen to Zelda please Nintendo be nice to her
#We're all in agreement that skyward sword zelink is canon right#I believe in grandpa Sky supremacy#I'd like to imagine Sky calling her Jr#or any zelda for that matter#Skyward Sword#breath of the wild#botw#ss#Sky#zelda#link

SO.... HEROINE'S JOURNEY. YA?
There are a few approaches to the Heroine's Journey and they're all a little wonky as fuck.
is to look at old myths about Heroines and find patterns in them, the way Campbell found patterns in Hero myths. Problem here is that there's much less narrative consistency in those, and they're generally a little less common, and so there's not as much of a pattern to distill into a neat little diagram.
is to craft a psychological model for little girls coming of age, akin to the one the Hero's Journey provides for little boys, and work off that. This is nice, but tends to lack the weight and kind of viral catchiness of the mythologically derived formula
is just to genderswap the Hero's Journey, or to put a Heroine through the Hero's Journey as is. These most often fall apart on account of having zero critical assessment of what the plot being acted out is or how it functions. No one learns jack squat, no one grows, and as a shitty cherry on top the plot just looks derivative. (Looking right at you, Force Awakens.)
The old mythic approach is generally ignored for being far too loose. It also tends to revolve around awkward at times sexist narratives of purity and purification as a process, the role of healing, mending and forgiving flawed and often outright antagonistic individuals, preservation and protection of the home, and consequently a lack of real adventure. It very often ends in an ascension to goddess-hood by way of or for the ends of some kind of self sacrifice. I'm not super keen on this for a number of reasons, not the least of which being the narrative trend in which a woman's role is give herself up for the good of others... But worth pointing out here is that the myths that can be referenced that don't fit these themes are so wildly different both from the proposed core formula and even one another that they don't outline a new or alternative trend at all. Women that kick ass in myth absolutely exist, but they tend to be unique rather than formulaic, be that for better or for worse...
Funny enough Zelda: Skyward Sword utilized this in a fascinating way. As Link goes through a very conventional Hero's Journey, really beat for beat, in his pursuit of the missing Princess Zelda he continually gets to the end of a dungeon to find that Zelda was just there, but he missed her and she's moved on. And in fact each time this happens we learn that Zelda had her own reasons for visiting all these temples and sure enough this background plot that Zelda has been acting out is the mythic Heroine's Journey.
Seeing the two acted out in tandem, and showing how the two actually facilitate and serve one another in a bigger picture is actually a really brilliant way to tell these old stories. Zelda's quest has added urgency because we know that as she progresses, the encroaching evil is only barely being beaten back by Link. and Link's Hero's Journey is given new importance because his Meeting with the Goddess isn't just about shipping him with Zelda, it's about saving Zelda from the consequences of her self sacrifice.
The distantly Jungian derived model is actually only as old as 1990 and came about as a centerpiece in a women's self-help book. Maureen Murdock suggests this process:
Shift from feminine to masculine
Identification with the masculine
Road of trials
Experiencing the illusory boon of success
The descent/meeting with the goddess
Yearning for the reconnect
Reconciliation with the masculine
The union
In which the girl has to adopt masculine agency in order to act upon the world in the way man are expected to and girls are not. She adventures with these masculine skills/features at hand. She feels fulfilled by these conquests, but then must face the idea that masculine conquest is not a valid or meaningful kind of accomplishment. She has a conflict of self, dives deep into the self to meet with her own feminine side, now long repressed. She learns to want to be a woman. She confronts the flaws of the masculine pursuit she's been on. She learns to embrace both gendered identities and is at peace.
This thing has so many little bumps and hiccups and things to get caught up on. I'm really not fond of it. It's a product of its time and its writers' predecessors' biases and already kind of misaligned premises. (Btw this is a huge contributing factor to the plot of Revolutionary Girl Utena.)
The second version is generally exemplified in the Heroine's Journey formulated by Victoria Lynn Schmidt. I'll be totally honest, I'm not as familiar with that one. But it was written to more directly mirror Campbell's Hero's Journey in its cyclical nature and use as a writing template (where as Murdock's was decidedly less focused on story telling applications) and it's major pitfall is that it really doesn't seem to have any kind of "universal" mythic origin, and so kind of lacks the punch Campbell's implication of myth speaking to the innate human psyche in the universal familiarity of its trends.
Illusion of the perfect world
Betrayal/disillusionment
The awakening
The descent: passing through the gates of judgment
Eye of the storm
All is lost/death
Support
Rebirth/moment of truth
Return to a new world
Like I said, I'm just less familiar with this one in practice. It doesn't feel like a terrible plot or character arc, and there are aspects of it that I really like, even. But it doesn't really feel like it particularly "fixes" any of the problems at hand with its predecessors.
And the third one, I mentioned is typically just bad and stupid; a creative decision made in pure ignorance. When removed from any psychological context the motions of the plot become meaningless. But a fascinating case of sort of doing it was Disney's Moana. Not because it genderswapped the Campbellian Hero's Journey but because it chose to merge the myth Hero and Heroine's Journey together, and yeah, in which a little genderswapping happened to be involved.
Moana's role is to "stay" and be mother to her people, to protect and preserve, to purify and heal and forgive... BUT in a beautifully deft twist she discovered that preserving her people's way of life means heeding the call to adventure/call of the sea, means venturing into the unknown to learn new things and conquer trials... it means meeting with The God, Maui (instead of the Goddess) means confronting The Mother (Instead of the father) but instead of defeating her like a Hero, healing her like a Heroine. It really beautifully juggles the two cycles in a way that doesn't give either one supremacy over the other, in the truest Reconciliation/Union of proposed masculine and feminine. (Yes, the Te Ka/Te Fiti reveal was 100% a textbook Vader moment.)
But of course the big pitfall this, and the original Hero's Journey fall into is the assumption of some kind of deeply essential gendered aspect of psychology, and not separating elements of biological impulse as they relate to psychology from the heavy HEAVY filter of socialization. On the one hand, I still believe the Hero's Journey, and some variations of the Heroine's Journey(s) can absolutely be utilized in writing in a deeply meaningful and largely accurate and affecting way. But I'm also very much in favor of seeking out alternatives to these in ways that pursue more of that universal appeal that Campbell thought he'd tapped into. But that is yet another rant entirely...

Hiii, it’s the anon that pulled Klee and Sucrose in the same wish. (Side note but I keep typing Scaramouche instead of Sucrose and I don’t know why-)
I saw all the Kaeya love and I wanted to take part in it because he’s the loml. I just reached AR 45 and I still main Anemo traveler and Kaeya. I think it’s because until maybe AR 30 I only had free to play characters and I got too emotionally attached to let them go and/or I already spent so many resources leveling them it would feel wrong to never touch them again just because I got new characters, but I digress.
He isn’t built as properly as I would like since my dumbass barely figured out how stats and artifacts worked, but he’s probably my strongest character, with Bennett/Lumine coming in second and Xingqiu/Fischl third.
I spent 3 hours making a google doc detailing every character (that I have)’s ideal build, good replacements for early game, stats to focus on, etc so I figured I’d share Kaeya’s.
Ideal build (in my opinion):
Weapon: Aquilia Favonia
Artifacts: 2 piece Gladiator, 2 piece Bloodstained Chivalry (Blizzard Strayer is also immaculate)
Stats: ATK %, Cryo Damage, Crit Damage
Good replacements:
Weapons: Skyward Blade, Festering Desire, Skyrider Sword, Prototype Rancour, Harbinger of Dawn
Artifacts: The Exile, Berserker
Best of luck to everyone <3
I believe in Kaeya Supremacy
(Also I’m too scared to ascend past 45, kaeya come pick me up I’m scared)
Hey, these are really helpful stats to shoot for and ideas to build Kaeya.
Gladiator sets are really good at your level, and eventually you'll be able to get those higher tier artifacts to boost him even more.
I hope your luck continues to flow and you can collect those artifacts from domains!
I also haven't done my lvl 7 world ascension yet ... Don't wanna ... I know it'll only make my life harder lol
I like it down here okay

I’ve been thinking about this for a long time!
Sega! You can’t just give me alchemist, king, mermaid, and now witches and just get away with this!
So, excuse my brainrot. I want to write a fanfic for this, but I haven’t come out with a decent connective plot, so here’s some ideas from the characters (except the vocaloid because all of us have a mutual agreement that they are gods):
So, you have your medieval fantasy kingdom, a floating steampunk city, a fantasy wilderness, and hell/underworld itself.
Tsukasa, Saki, and Touya are siblings/half-siblings/cousins because I believe in the Tenma siblings' supremacy. Touya is the heir of the medieval fantasy kingdom instead of Tsukasa who is the oldest of the three.
Touya is your classic prince who wants adventure rather than sitting on the throne.
Because the throne isn't for him, Tsukasa is assigned as the Captain of the Royal guard. Underneath him are Akito, Mizuki, and Shiho.
Saki still has her terminal sickness/deadly curse that even potions can't heal.
As her bodyguard/right-hand man, Shiho always makes sure that the princess and her best friend have enough rest.
Shizuku and Haruka are royal sorceresses of the kingdom. Shizuku however has a terrible curse: every night she turns into a rabbit.
Haruka considers retiring from using magic because she injured one of her friends back then, but during her journey in the wilderness, she has a life-changing experience after meeting Minori the angel.
Akito is a half-fae who decides to venture into the human civilization and managed to rescue Touya from danger in their first meeting. He was recruited as Touya's bodyguard/right-hand man right after that.
Mizuki is a demon in disguise. She was part of the underworld's Snow White Theater but ran away for a reason unknown yet.
Minori is an angel, but not that religion-like angel. She's more of the fae goddess of nature and protector of the fantasy wilderness.
Airi is Minori's most loyal fae and practically partner.
Ena is a half-fae. Her fae father married a human mother, thus making her and Akito half-fae, but only Ena grows wing while Akito doesn't.
Nene is a mermaid. Her pond in the middle of the forest has a secret magic tunnel that can lead to the sea.
The steampunk city is located in the sky similar to Star Wars' Cloud City or Skyward Sword's Skyloft. Only a few on earth know about its existence of it. Likewise, only a few in the sky know about the existence of the land beyond the cloud.
Emu is the fun-loving daughter of the mayor who dreams to revive the local sky race called the Grand Prix. She also often visit the local alchemist at the edge of the city.
Ichika is local sky police and often have to chase the alchemist around town. But, she’s close with the assistant alchemist.
An is a pilot who creates her own ship from scraps. Her dream is one day to be part of the Grand Prix and win it, just like her father.
Kohane is a shy navigator. After first time flying with An, she decides to become her navigator if they join the race one day.
Rui is your local alchemist who lived in a planetarium-like workshop. He's very interested in the world below the cloud.
Honami is Rui's assistant who often works with the paperwork for damage controls. She's also an astrologist and a house cleaning lady for a peculiar house.
Kanade is a music box maker who rarely comes out from her room, continuing her father's legacy. She dreams of one day making a song that will save people. But she's also surprisingly knowledgeable. She knows the existence of the land beyond the clouds and the other dimension.
Said another dimension is actually a hell/underworld-like realms where demons, vampire, and those other evil beings roam. In its center, stands the Snow White Theater.
The Snow White Theater's primadonna is Mafuyu the living demon marionette. It's said that she's once a doll but the director gave life to her so it became alive.
A few references:
Tsukasa, Saki and Touya being related is because they're all featured in The Tenma Household's Hinamatsuri
Touya is the heir and his outfit is obviously from A Song of Vows for You, Dressed in Pure White!
Tsukasa is supposed to be the heir is kinda a nod to his card from Wonder Magical Showtime!
Tsukasa, Akito, Mizuki, and Shiho being knights is from The Gentleman Thief's Thrilling White Day!? (the reason I made this in the first place lol)
Princess Saki's outfit is from Operation ♡ Secret Valentine!
Shizuku and Haruka being witches from Cast Spells on You
But also Shizuku turning into a rabbit from The Two Moon Rabbits
Akito saving Touya is kinda a nod from Period of NOCTURNE and main story since Akito is the first one who notice Akito, he's kinda a gateway for Touya to street music thus helping in "saving" Touya from classical music
Mizuki being a demon from My Footprints, Your Destination
Airi and Ena (to an extent Akito) being fae from Tell Me Your Problems! Exciting Picnic
Angel Minori from Let's Deliver! HOPEFUL STAGE ♪
Mermaid Nene from Mesmerized by Mermaids
Emu being daughter of the mayor is an obvious nod to her family owning Phoenix Wonderland and her dream of reviving the Grand Prix is her wanting to save Wonder Stage. Also her victorian-esque dress from Operation ♡ Secret Valentine!
Ichika's outfit from Knock the Future!! has such a steampunk feel (and the main reason why the whole steampunk city exist lol)
An dreams to win the Grand Prix is a nod to her dream of wanting to make a bigger event than RAD WEEKEND.
An and Kohane plotline is basically Vivid Bad Squad's story minus the Bad Dog. And their outfit is borrowed from Period of NOCTURNE which has the classical/steampunk feel
Alchemist Rui from Revival My Dream
Honami as an astrologist comes her loves for stars in the main story but also her outfit from Unwavering Feelings, Now Put Into Words
Kanade's story is basically her plot from the game, and her dress is from Carnation Recollection (it has some gears in the trained version)
Snow White Theater is a nod from Mirage of Lights
Marionette Mafuyu from Imprisoned Marionette
I'm convinced PrSk is slowly building its own fantasy au.
There's knights, now. There's an Alchemist. There's hermits (even if they're also knights and fairies!). Princes and Princesses!! Angels and Witches!! Mermaids!!!!
It's a fantasy au!!! I'm now waiting patiently for my food in the form of a mixed fantasy au event ty.
I have such a deep-rooted love for fantasy or royalty aus so I'm frothing at the mouth tbh
#i am very sorry for the ramble#i just need to get this off before i forget it#project sekai colorful stage#i felt challenged to write a fanfic#fantasy au my beloved#i still want a dimension hopping plot though#maybe the old touya is dead and got reincarnated as regular touya#and then regular touya got isekai into the fantasy world#everything is the same except tsukasa is king in that plot#or make tsukasa dies fighting mafuyu or something#then regular tsukasa can get isekai#this is my tsukamafu inuyasha propaganda#the entire emu an and konahe steampunk plot is basically last exile fam the silver wing#rui can make a deal with the devil snd becomes the director of snow white theater in his potato outfit#minori is basically the great fairy and yes she has her own fairy fountain#tsukasa and mafuyu being the chosen ones sice they can create a sekai all on their own#prince of light tsukasa and princess of darkness mafuyu#prsk fantasy au
