Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, why is Yagi the single teacher I see ever brought up as the one to never have gotten a teachering degree.

From very basic research, though I may do more later, the requirement is both completing university and then obtaining a degree for the respective level and subject, at minimum it seems to be a four year long process but we bring in the fact these are active heroes who were likely working in an agency out the gate.

Yes this does mean most would be mid-twenties by the time they received the qualifications but that does not account for those who did not originally intend to go down the teaching path, which Aizawa most definitely did not. In his case it does seem his team post-UA to becoming a teacher was solidly packed with hero work, if anything it seems erasure is the big reason Nezu even accepted him on, so when did he get his qualifications.

The rest of the faculty I can give a sorta pass cause we don't see most enough to tell much, Hizashi is also very much the type who would have gone for a degree to teach English, I fully imagine English teachers are in higher demand to be sure all heroes have a good grasp on it for oversea missions, but he is also in a tricky spot because it is clear he is a popular hero in many ways even if he isn't extremely high up the rankings. Just I wish we got to see more of the school and how everything there functioned, if the system for becoming a teacher was different and why Yagi is the one singled out as being unfit as a teacher when you have Aizawa who sleeps through his classes and also has no real point he'd have gotten the qualifications.

This is very much a nitpicky and hits close to home thing, thank you weird path towards becoming a teacher in some capacity for making me think about this too much, but points I see used against Yagi are always so often ones that can be levelled at other characters with just as much justification but they never are. And this is also not even personal bias because Yagi and Aizawa are among my favourites I'm just very sick of how people treat them, unless I can be given proof Aizawa has the qualifications for a job he didn't even go for himself they're in the same boat, though I will admit the years Aizawa has been teaching gives him something over Yagi.
