...where it was fucking RAINING. *facepalm* Yeah, uh, I looked at the in-game calendar, and as it turned out, for their three-day honeymoon (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday), only Sunday was forecast to have decent weather -- Saturday and Monday both had "Monsoons" listed. *grumbles* If I wanted them to have to deal with thunderstorms, game, I would have had them stay home!
Well, anyway, welcome to KP Beach Cottage, aka my edited version of "Beach Cottage Rental" by SprattyWasHere! I was intrigued by it because it was a build that only used Cottage Living and Island Living, which Spratty designed for a Sim who was trying to catch all the different fish available in Sulani. Given my trio's whole deal as "cottagecore occults," it felt like an appropriate honeymoon location for them, so I slapped it down on the Key Point private island lot and made a few alterations (including recoloring some items, like the kitchen counters, to be more colorful; swapping out some of the CL furnishings for IL ones -- notably the beds and everything in the bathroom (except the toilet, as there IS no Island Living toilet for some reason O.o); making the whole house just ever so slightly bigger to accommodate both the shower AND the tub in the bathroom; replacing the back porch dining table with a games table and putting a new bigger dining table under the little awning thing; putting out some beach towels; and trading all the fish traps in the water for fun floaties (there was also supposed to be a boat, but I think NPCs stole it)) before letting my Sims book it. I thought it would be a lovely island getaway, especially with those cool custom pictures Spratty included! I wasn't planning on rain!
*sigh* Ah well -- there was nothing to do but suck it up and hope for some better weather moving forward. I had everybody get inside, where Alice settled in for a nap on one of the couches while Victor let Smiler get a snack from his wrist. Victor then made some chips with salsa for his and Alice's own morning meal while Smiler got on upgrading the big double bed -- hey, there was nothing better for them to do, and they might as well guarantee that Victor and Alice have as comfortable a time sleeping here as they do at home! Alice woke up just in time to chow down on the finished chips, then it was Victor's turn for a nap while Smiler kept upgrading and Alice --
Started a puzzle! There weren't really any other good entertainment options available, and I've been meaning to try out Sims puzzles for a bit anyway. After briefly playing around with the idea of doing a puzzle from reference (but not having any really good shots to use in Alice's immediate area), I had Alice start on a cute cat-and-dog puzzle as the gang waited out the rain. Smiler completed the bed upgrades just in time to help her finish up the 100-piecer -- I know it looks like they didn't enjoy the finished product in that final picture, but that's just them being Erratic. :p I personally think it's very cute, aw. :) Not how I INTENDED them to spend their island vacation, but honestly not that bad a start, either.
