Hi there! I am unsure if you have requests open or not, but if you do, could I request a Miguel x F!Reader where reader wants to tell Miguel that she identifies as non-binary, but struggles to do so out of fear of Miguel breaking up with her.
There is one scene I have in mind for this in particular is that while having sex, Miguel tells the reader that he loves her, and the Reader has to hold in her/their tears because she/they truly believes he won't anymore when he finds out.
If this request is uncomfortable, please feel free to ignore!
Simply You | Miguel O'hara x F/NB!Reader
Miguel x F/NB!Reader W/C: 2.5k
#NSFW, hurt/comfort, fluff, fem-presenting reader, pre-established relationship, miguel is Spiderman, set before ATSV, adults talking like adults, healthy relationship ayo
Note: Tysm for this request! As a NB girlie, I really relate to this sort of struggle with coming out/explaining my identity to people close to me, so, in a weird way, I really enjoyed writing the reader fumbling with the explanation lol?? Idk but this was kinda sweet and therapeutic to write! I hope you enjoy :')
--
Miguel loved you. You loved him. It was simple.
Only, it wasn’t. Not for you.
Shame ate at you every time you felt his embrace, every time he filled you with a searing heat only he could control in your tumultuous, all-feeling heart. That self-condemnation didn’t come because of who you were, no, but because of what you couldn’t tell him, what you were too afraid to tell him.
But you could cope, you always had. Did it really even matter, anyway? Did you need to bring that out into the world, to declare you were someone more nuanced than the snarky, kind woman he fell for? Was it worth it to walk and breathe, to sing and smile, to love and dance in the truth of your ipseity if it meant losing your one and only, your partner for life?
You didn’t know. You didn’t know if love would welcome the truth.
You didn’t think the ceiling would hold the answers either, as much as you stared up at it that morning, hoping for an epiphany. The heels of your palms dug into your eyes while you sighed a shaky, weak sigh, and found the strength to roll out of bed. Or, well, at least sit up.
“Heeey,” Lyla chirped as she flickered into being beside you. “Everything cool, buddy?”
You tried a smile and nodded. “Yeah. Everything’s cool. I’m cool. It’s just one of those days, I guess.”
“Yeah, I get that. It happens, so don’t sweat it, alright?” The digital Tinkerbelle gave you a reassuring, glitchy smile as she made a show of patting your arm. “Is it ‘cause of last night?”
You grimaced, and Lyla nodded judiciously.
God, you didn’t want to remember that. Bursting into tears just because he said he loved you was just–it wasn’t exactly how you wanted it to go.
You’d been here so many times, his chest pressed to your plush breasts, his words whispering softly into your ear in a tone both sinful and endearing, but it always felt like the first, somehow.
Each easy push into your heat pulled a dreamy sigh from between your soft lips time and time again. Each drag of your nails against his back, every fistful of hair tugged gave you the lightest of moans, the softest sweetness you’d never imagined you’d find in a man like Miguel O’hara. But you did. And you cherished it. You cherished him.
“That good?” He mumbled against your neck as his pace quickened subtly with the grip holding onto your waist. Your thighs cozied up against his sides harder as your partner dove deeper and deeper to your centre, rubbing up just right against your velvety walls.
“Always,” you mumbled back. And he smiled against your skin, a small laugh joining the gesture. You smiled, too, and gasped when he snapped his hips against yours harder, faster, delivering you pulse after pulse of hot pleasure without breaking a sweat.
He kissed your throat before finding your mouth again, and murmuring against your lips, “even better?”
You convinced your eyes open to catch a glimpse of his snarky, punchable smile. You rolled your eyes and raked your nails against the nape of his neck to feel him shudder and stutter from the pleasant tingles crashing down on him. Sure, you had your weak spot, but he had his, too.
“You’re a brat.” But you kissed him anyway, that grown-up brat you were so smitten with.
“You love it,” he said as he nipped your bottom lip. “Almost as much as you love me, I bet.”
“Oh, is this gonna be a trend? You flirting with yourself on my behalf?” You chuckled and looped both arms around his neck while you kissed him again, and again, and again. “But, yeah. I love you, whether you’re being a little shit or a tough guy.”
Bright fondness turned crimson eyes into glittering rubies. It fuelled your ego, knowing your praise and love could get your man so excited and full of himself. You didn’t mind it–you encouraged it, actually. He deserved all the recognition and worship humanity could offer.
“And I love you,” he offered back.
You shifted, eyes widening a bit as the delicate balance in your heart started to waver. Maybe he’d stop there. Maybe he wouldn’t keep talking.
“No matter what.” He buried his face into your neck and inhaled your scent. “Te amo, mi amor.”
And you cracked. You cried. Because he might only love the shell of you.
You hung your head and rubbed your face with an embarrassed groan. “Was it…bad? Like, secondhand embarrassment bad?”
“Eh, nah, not really. You covered it up pretty well with ‘I’m just really happy, that’s all.’” Lyla sighed and shook her head. “You’re good, I’ll tell ya that. But you might just wanna be, I dunno, honest?”
You stared at her blankly. “...No, thanks.”
“Wooow.”
“I–it’s just not easy. I don’t know how to–to put it into words, or how to really just, y’know, sum it all up.” You ran your hands through your hair and made it into a nest fit for a family of crows to live in before you got up and wandered to the kitchen in search of coffee (because that would definitely help your anxiety).
Lyla reappeared in the kitchen by your side. “Okay, well, how do you sum it up for yourself?” She adjusted her sunnies a bit as she watched you.
You paused mid-scoop, and stared down into the tin of grounds, brows furrowed. “It’s complicated.”
“Great!”
“How is that great? It doesn’t solve anything.”
“Nah, but it’s a start.”
You blinked, dumbstruck. Because damn. She was right.
You mulled it over in your head and in your heart, thinking hard about how to bring it up to him now that you'd decided, yes, you were in fact going to bring it up to him, to be honest with him. Your nerves recoiled and your stomach roiled when you tried to recite that unwritten script festering in the back of your throat:
“Hey, babe, I need to talk to you about something. It’s nothing bad. It’s just, uh, y’know. I, uh…”
“Hey, Miggs? Can we talk? It’s nothing serious or anything, but–well, okay, maybe it is serious, just not to you–I mean, no, no, I don’t mean you don’t care or–shit.”
“Hey, so, there’s something kinda complicated that I wanna talk about, and, uh…just don’t freak out, okay?”
“Okay,” Miguel said. You let out an ugly noise, something between a gasp and a squawk, as you whirled around to see Spiderman himself sitting in your open window with a bag of takeout in his stupid hands.
“Miguel,” you wheezed. “I, uh.” You wiped your palms on your pants and willed the shock away. God, he was so annoying. So goddamn annoying. Why’d he have to show up now? “I thought you–don’t you have work? Wait, come inside first, what’re you doing? Jeeze.”
He waited for you to come over to him and pull him inside instead of getting up himself. A very Miguel thing to do. He just liked you to worry over him, to get all exasperated and tell him he was being a brat because, well, he thought it was cute. Miguel was a very simple man with simple pleasures.
“Technically still at work,” he remarked, very blase as you dragged him inside the apartment before closing the window. He set down the take out and rummaged through it. “Lunch break. That turned into a ‘saving Nueva York’ break.”
You nodded and crossed your arms to shield your hammering heart from him. “And now you’re here because–?”
Miguel shrugged and deactivated his mask as he turned to you, handing you a box of pad thai. “Sorry, didn’t know coming to feed my girl was a punishable offence. How many years do I get?”
You smiled, and the wild thumping in your chest ebbed. “Dunno yet. I’ll consult the jury.” You took the box from him with a soft “thank you” on your lips, and you sat at the kitchen counter beside him.
“I await the verdict with bated breath.” Miguel chuckled and shook his head before peeking over at you to catch a glimpse of your fond smile. But he stared a little too long, and you could feel pointed rubies pressing against the side of your face.
“What?” You asked when you met his gaze.
He shook his head the slightest bit. “Nothing, just…glad you’re smiling.” Ah, damn. That tone of voice was so soft and gentle. Why was he so sweet? “After last night, I just–I was still kinda worried, I guess.”
“I’m fine, I’m fine,” you reassured him, fighting through the heat staining your cheeks. “I promise. I don’t really know why I, y’know, got so…so…y’know.”
“You sure?” Miguel asked. His gloved fingers tucked some hair behind your ear, fanning the flames hiding under your skin. “Sounded like you were rehearsing somethin’ before I crashed the party.”
You opened your mouth to refute, to argue against him, to run away from the issue at hand and save it for another day because why ruin the mood? But the words wouldn’t come up. Excuses didn’t come to mind, either, but bubbling bravery filled your chest and squared off your shoulders as you held Miguel’s gaze with burgeoning confidence. Maybe you could do this. Maybe you could fucking do this. The scariest part was the first step, just like when you said “yes” when he asked you out that first time.
You could do this.
“Yeah,” You managed out.
You cleared your throat while your mind raced. You could fucking do this.
“I, um, it’s not—it’s not serious-serious, like, it’s nothing, uh…well, maybe it is something game-changing, I don’t really know what you’ll think, but…but yeah, I wanted to talk to you about…stuff? An important stuff–thing. Something important. To me.”
Miguel’s expression glowed with fond amusement, and he nodded, turning his attention to you squarely and resting his arm on the countertop. “Alright. Shoot. Important-thing me.”
You nodded and took a few seconds to collect yourself. “Okay. Alright. Yeah, I got this. I’ll, uh, just get on with it. But I need this first,” you said before snatching the free hand off Miguel’s lap and holding it, fiddling with his thick, strong, gloved digits and making those claws pop in and out; he was the best fidget spinner, turns out.
“Okay. So, uh. I don’t really know how to start, so this might be bumpy, but bare with me.” You glanced to the side in thought for a moment, and took a deep breath before ranting. “I just—I feel like I’m kind of…in limbo.”
Miguel raised his brows. “Limbo?”
“Yeah. But, like, not in a bad way? I just–it’s just something that’s me, I guess?” Your brows furrowed, wondering if you were confusing him too much with your vagueness. “When you call me a woman, it doesn’t feel–I mean, it’s not wrong, it’s just not the whole story. The whole truth.
“It’s like being caught in the middle of, uh, man and woman, but being neither at the same time? I don’t–I think I’m still figuring it all out, but I don’t feel like I’m just your woman.” You looked up from Miguel’s hand and caught his patient gaze. Your face heated to a sporty, cherry red when he stayed silent. “I–maybe this was a bad time, sorry, you–”
“Ah-ah, no no no, don’t–don’t shut me out, mi amor,” Miguel rushed to say as he slipped his arm from the counter and held your one hand with both of his. “I have all the time in the world for you, alright?”
You pursed your lips and nodded. “Yeah, of course! Totally, yeah, okay.”
Miguel chuckled and shook his head, too smitten with you and your antics. “But, alright, let me get this right, make sure I’m understanding things–you’re not necessarily wholly a woman, not wholly a man, somewhere in the middle, but nowhere on that scale at the same time?”
Death coiled in your gut as embarrassment killed your will to go on. “...Yeah, wow, that sounds pretty stupid in hindsight.”
“Ay, stop it,” your partner scolded. “It makes sense. I’m serious, I get what you’re saying.”
“I don’t even know if I know what I’m saying, Miggs,” you sighed.
“What I’m hearing is that you,” he started, reaching one hand over to tilt your chin up and meet his eyes, “are just you.” His scarlet eyes scanned over your features, admiring his beautiful girl–no, his beautiful partner, the one he was lucky enough to wake up with every morning, and go to sleep beside every night. “Undefined. Not one way or the other. Unlike the rest. Just perfectly you, yeah?”
Your shoulders relaxed. “Just me,” you repeated quietly. That anxious half-smile bloomed into an honest, content look. “That’s a pretty good way to sum it up, yeah. I’m just me.”
“And I love ‘just you.’ You know that, right?” He kissed the back of your hand when you laughed and nodded, tears nowhere to be found this time. “Good. So, should I call you something else? Not ‘girlfriend’ or anything?”
“I think I’m okay with it, I just–I don’t know, I’m happy with ‘she’ as long as you know I’m kind of a ‘they,’ too. If that tracks.”
“Tracks with me.”
“Alright. Good. Cool. I’ll, uh, let you know if I change my mind?”
“You better,” Miguel huffed. “I don’t want you to cry again–”
“Miguel O’hara,” you scolded, pinching his hand through the suit. “That was so embarrassing–don’t ever ever mention it again, okay? I was in a state last night and I’m trying real hard to pretend it never happened.”
“Oh, wow, ah-huh. Maybe we should rewrite that night then, hey?” His mischievous smirk perked your intrigue.
“Oh. Oh. Yeah. I think I’d like that.” You wiggled in your seat, that chaotic mix of old nerves and new excitement making you a fidgety mess of energy. “Right now? Wait, don’t you have work–”
“Eh, they’ll survive,” he said before getting up and scooping you into his arms easily. “Sure they can manage without me for an hour.”
“An hour? What, are we gonna watch a movie after?” Miguel looked at you, eyes so full of embarrassment and betrayal. You tried not to laugh. “I’m just saying. Based on precedent…”
“I’ll never talk about you crying during sex if you never talk about me cumming too fast that one time.”
“Pft. One time–”
“Okay, alright, now you’re really gonna get it, you and that smart mouth of yours.”
Memories of last night’s heartache and shame crumbled away as he held you, and threw you onto the bed with a smug smirk. Those dark remnants that once encased your heart fluttered away with the exorcism of sharing your aching truth with Miguel, with the sanctity of his unwavering love for you, his family, his partner for life.
Miguel loved you. You loved him. It really was that simple.

Hi! I’m Briar, a 25+NB looking for any 21+ who are interested in any of the below plots or AUs. Full disclosure, some of the characters listed are Fandom tied, but I am looking for specifically non-Canon AUs for them. The personalities are very close to the same. I am interested in darker dead doe themes, but I would like to refrain from any explicit spicy themes (though romance is welcome for a few of the muses.) even though all of the muses are 18+.
🟊 A small-time funeral director finds someone either not dead or suddenly resurrected on his table. (Bonus points if the wake has already happened, but the actual funeral is less than 36 hours away.) (Be aware that this might be dark, but it doesn’t have to be, other than the previously dead thing.) Muse: Ruth from Ancient Magus Bride (pre-Chise personality, so a little sad and has a small aversion to people with a heartbeat.)
🟊 A 1920s-1930s Mafia AU where a high ranking Caporegime is supposed to “retrieve” a person who crossed the Family. (Bonus points if this turns into a f// love story.) Muse: Magma Admin Courtney from Pokemon Ruby (a mixture of manga and original Ruby in personality)
🟊 A modern day real world AU with an eccentric and easily distracted woman who has oodles of trauma where a chance meeting lets her make a friend. (Just, let my weird little child have a weird little life in a big city and a friend.) Muse: OC named Kitten (Very forgetful, but is cheerful and wants to make friends, even though she doesn’t quite know how.)
🟊 Urban fantasy. Just, in general. I have a total of 6 muses to choose from. (Though, two of those muses could have a companion apiece if we include their canon counterparts.) F// or FxNB is the option if we want to choose a romantic subplot. Open adventure where magic or supernatural people are celebrated, underground magic to keep users from being killed, a mundane open market peddling magical items. The possibilities are endless!
Now, for the more technical shoptalk. I tend to put out responses that can be anywhere from 250-750 words, more or less depending on the situation. (I have been known to put out starters that clocked 1200 words. It doesn’t happen often, but it has.) Tumblr is my preferred platform, but I can be persuaded to Discord. For Tumblr, I do not use icons or fancy text/formats, but if that is how you prefer to do yours, I do not mind. I am a medium activity blog, meaning a reply should come twice to three times a week. If I am going to be longer than that, I will let you know. (Work can sometimes just drag me down.) However, if you catch me while I am still awake and have just posted, there is a chance you might get a second or third reply before I fall asleep. We will see!
I do like to get to know my partners a little before we start and I like to think communication is key for any kind of working relationship. If we don’t really mesh as people, I worry too much about our compatibility as roleplay partners. And if at any time either of us aren’t feeling the roleplay anymore, I hope that we can talk through getting it back on track or break off amendably. I am adamant on parting civilly and not being ghosted.
If you have read this far, thank you! It means a lot. My RP side blog is @wanderlust-rp. You can DM me there if you are interested. I have a lovely pinned message with a carrd, all the mobile-friendly bios, rules, and otherwise if you would like to look at those as well! I look forward to plotting with you!
(I hope you have a good day, too, Mods. You are wonderful and we all appreciate you.)

open: f/nb connection: best friends plot: your muse is pregnant. the father wants nothing to do with it. Wes wants to step up to the plate.
Tumblr media
“You don’t have to do this alone.” He knew it sounded crazy, professing this to his best friend. But he was already a good father to a two year old. And so he knew how to be there, to take care of a child. And his best friend having a baby by herself didn’t sit right with him. “I love you. And I want to be there for you. So, just, let me be the dad. I’ll do the 4 am feedings, I’ll run out and grab you ice cream at midnight when you have a craving. I’ll take care of you.”
Tumblr media
deluded stare was, in fact, dropped. a curious eye might’ve even spotted the precise direction of the orbs, aiming towards a plastick stick but the woman was far away from the reality of her current ... reality.  two red lines painted across the paper-thin, plastic screen. two red lines. fuck. “ fuck. ” she repeats herself. or rather her frozen thoughts. “ wha—what ? yeah, you’ve got a kid because you never learn from your mistakes, but me ? i am the mistake. the biggest one my mother could’ve ever made. and this ? ” tobacco-scented fingers hold the pregnancy test like a cigarette. “ this ? nah, not gonna happen. not in this fucking lifetime. and please — i’m having cravings all the time and somehow you’ve never brought me evn a piece of gum. ”

hi kit, i hope you’re well! i rly enjoy tnp and how many trans characters the game has, it’s so great to see. i do feel slightly concerned though about the existence of f!lea… it feels very weird and uncomfortable that there is basically an option for the reader to choose for lea to be a cis woman or a trans man and it ends up equating the two. so i’m just wondering why you’ve chosen to continue having lea be gender selectable? like it makes sense to me that merry is not, she’s a trans woman after all so shouldn’t the same apply to lea, a trans man?
i would never "equate" the two in any way - f!lea and m!lea are separate people that do not exist in the same timeline, if that makes sense. f!lea is a woman and m!lea is a man, just like any other gender-selectable RO.
obviously, i do understand what you're saying - it is different when one variation is trans, and that being said, i have received one other message before about this and i've talked to quite a few people regarding these concerns both in relation to lea & merry, though none of them have been trained sensitivity readers and of course everyone is going to have different opinions, especially with something as complex as gender. i've kept this criticism in mind since i first received it a while ago and it's still something i'm undecided on.
i really like having lea be gender-selectable for player inclusivity, but honestly, for me personally, i do really like expressing gender through the mechanic this way, and how each lea has a different relationship and experience with it. i like how lea shows that gender is something that is questioned in the tnp world and that people are encouraged to explore and experiment and it's just a natural part of growing up, and i like having f!lea be gender non-conforming. i briefly considered having lea always be trans, but at that point it felt as if i was tokenizing them, and above all i want to avoid that - i want my characters to be genuine and i don't want anything to come across as forced or insincere, and doing that to lea felt... well, insincere.
all of that to say: i am aware of this and i have Thought A Lot about lea's identity and how it may come across to different readers. i want to make it clear that i've always planned for this story to center nb, trans, and gay characters. i've tried to be careful with my language in game and done my best to avoid any kind of harmful narratives, and i've been very lucky to have a lot of people give me a lot of great feedback and advice about both lea and merry, but i'm never going to be able to hear every single opinion on the matter; so i'm always open to learning more and having a conversation when it comes to this kind of thing.
tl;dr - this is something that has been brought to my attention before and i've thought about it a lot and still haven't made any final decisions one way or the other.

----- 2) ABOUT ME -----
Tumblr media
You can call me Leigh (pronounced Lee), Leia (pronounced Laya), Dan/Danny/Dani, or Whoa.
I am pronoun indifferent.
You can not misgender me so long as you use she, he, or they. Just pick one and stick to it.
Neopronouns are transphobic garbage and not valid so I take great offense if you use them to refer to me. Same with it/its.
I’m gender questioning; possibly dysphoric nonbinary.
I do not speak for all GNC or questioning people, nor do I speak for transgender / transsexual people or enben.
Radfems, gender critical/skeptic, radmeds/radscum, radcutes, mogais, & concern trolls can fuck off.
I’m a battleaxe bisexual. Read more about battleaxe bisexuality, bisexual history, and biphobia here: Bisexual Resources! 💖💜💙
I have not reclaimed the q slur. Do not use it to refer to me or to the LGBT community as a whole.
I have a lot of side blogs and a few alt. accounts. This helps me stay organized. - All accounts that are mine have a link to this account (my main) in their description. If you’re unsure, you can ask me on this account if a blog is mine.
I’m possum kin and worm kin (ironically lmao; a bit of a joke on here)
ooooouuuuuughhhhhh

----- 3) OPINIONS -----
- I’m putting these here for the convenience of others. - I don’t want to cram all of these opinions into my bio. - These are not all of my discourse / political opinions. - Instead of assuming something, ask for clarification.
This is not a discourse blog and I will not actively engage in discourse with you.
I’m pro-fiction.
I don’t like incest ships, adult x minor ships, or noncon. Please tag things appropriately and don’t talk to me about ships/etc. of that nature.
Selfcest is fine though and I don’t mind aged up / aged down characters
I’m mostly anti RPF, sometimes neutral if the people included have consented.
I’m an exclusionist.
If you’re not a lesbian woman, a gay man, a bisexual person, and/or a trans/NB person, you’re not LGBT.
It’s lgbtphobic to suggest otherwise and I will block you if you try to start shit.
LGBT isn’t a club, it’s a community for oppressed people to be away from their oppressors.
Ace, aro, & aroace people are valid, just not inherently LGBT.
Demisexual and q****rplatonic are not actual things, you guys just don’t understand sexuality, romance, or friendships.
Q****r is a slur. Always has been. Can be reclaimed individually. Shouldn’t be default to refer to an LGBT person. Shouldn’t be used for the LGBT community as a whole. It isn’t an identity.
Gender dysphoria is required to be trans.
Gender incongruence is the same thing as gender dysphoria.
Gender euphoria can’t be experienced without having gender dysphoria.
Being trans/nonbinary is not a political statement, choice, fashion style, or fad.
Transness should remain medicalized so that trans people have access to hrt, surgery, and healthcare.
Trans men don't have any inherent privilege over trans women or enben.
Trans men talking about issues that they face is not transmisogyny.
Transmisandry and transandrophobia are real and to deny that these things exist is transphobic and sexist.
Gender roles =/= gender, clothes =/= gender, interests =/= gender.
Pronouns ARE gendered. Saying otherwise is transphobic and opens up trans people to being misgendered.
It/It’s pronouns and neopronouns are transphobic. (With the exception of xe/xem for a singular gender neutral pronoun option)
Nonbinary women / lesbians and nonbinary men / gay men are contradictory, enbyphobic, sexist, and lesbophobic / homophobic. Nonbinary is neither male nor female.
Bisexual women have a right to femme/butch labels as it's a part of their history. Bisexual women have a right to reclaim the d slur. To say otherwise is ahistorical, biphobic, and misogynistic.
I’m anti-mogai. Sexuality and gender are not choices, something that can be decided or changed, or aesthetics. Trans men are men, trans women are women, and enben are enben, inherently.
I’m anti transrace, transage, and transabled. (Age regression is fine, IDC)

Am I the only one who likes seeing muscular women in media more than muscular men?
Alright so, this one will probably end up much shorter and a little more ranty than I'd like, but this is kind of personal so be fairly warned.
Recently I've seen a few complaints about the new He-Man show and honestly, I fully understand and empathize with them. Whilst I haven't fully seen the show, from what I've viewed I can personally speaking agree (or at the very least understand) where most criticisms come from. I think it's incredibly shitty that the writer basically lied to his audience about how the show would run. Now normally I'd be fine with a twist such as He-man dying, but he's an important part of the show and the way the marketing & merchandising for it was running kind of comes across as him basically using He-Man's name to get people into the show. I also feel like it's fine to view Teela as obnoxious and annoying, nothing about her personality-wise seems likable to me. I also heard a few complaints about Orko's (I think that's his name, don't crucify me) backstory and how his character was handled.Yet as the title suggests one that didn't stick with me was the criticism of Teela and a general trend towards the criticism of women in media as being "masculine".
I've heard over and over that Hollywood representing strong women by giving them masculine traits is a bad thing and yet... I kind of don't get it? It feels odd to say, almost like I'm the dumbest man alive for admitting something which most people on the internet seem to be so sure about, yet I just don't understand where this is coming from. I've seen this thrown at She-hulk, Wonder Woman, Abby, and many other characters, yet when inquired it usually loops back around to, "Yeah they have muscles", and that's about it. This type of criticism in specific seems to overly focus on the appearance of said characters. It's the one critique I just can't get behind and it feels like at best it's a shallow criticism that fails to get its point across, and at worst it's actively demeaning to women who desire to or show masculine traits. But first, let me break this down into sections.
Section 1: Muscles =/= Masculinity (In my opinion at least)
Oh boy, I feel like this is a section that might rustle some feathers, but I'm going to try and explain myself best as possible. I simply do not view muscularity as a feature that is inherent to or should be inherent to men. I'm not going to pretend as if muscular men aren't more saturated in media and art, nor as if they're societally treated as masculine, but one of the reasons I fail to understand this criticism is that I see muscles beyond the horizons as being just a masculine trait.
I believe that muscles should instead be seen as a sign of hard work and determination. As someone who's currently trying (and struggling) to stay healthy and fit, it's much harder than a lot of media portrays it to be. It's a test where you push yourself to the limits, not just for the sake of doing it, but so you can improve as a person. Whenever I go to the gym and see a muscular gal or guy walk by, my immediate thought isn't, "how masculine" or anything like that my thought is, "wow! They worked hard to get like that, I should work hard as well!".
This interpretation tends to feel like it's just simply taking a piss on people who actively work hard to achieve higher levels of strength. Especially when society places and enforces these unrealistic standards onto people. If you don't have a six-quintillion pack nor can bench press a fucking house then you're worthless, of course, that is unless you actually attempt to pursue said standards which in that case you're automatically dismissed as cheating your way to gaining your muscles instead of putting any work in. And that's just for men who often don't have to deal with traditional idiots who are stuck in the year 1950 where I can't walk on the same street as them. My skin crawls when reading tweets from older men talking about how weightlifting women are "ruining their fertility" and I absolutely hate it when people in my life treat these women as if they're mythical creatures from a fairy tale, or when females who have trained to such a degree are simply dismissed as being inferior.
Obviously, I don't think the people who say this are like that, but whenever I hear this type of critique I can't help but think of the culmination of all these experiences I've gone through. But then again, this might honestly just be because I'm personally attracted to muscular women.
  Section 2: Body type diversity
Another reason that I tend to like muscular women in media over muscular men is simply due to the sheer oversaturation of muscular men. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem if anybody likes muscular men. I totally get wanting to shove your face in between some man titties or get inspired by their physiques. In all honesty, almost everything I said earlier can directly apply to men, but one of the reasons I bring up body type diversity is that there tend to be much less muscular women than men. I
f anything, I'd have to say that muscular men are almost treated as the default when it comes to things like superhero comics, movies, video games, anime, etc. In a similar vein, the default for women tends to be slim and curvaceous, you get the drill. Whenever someone who doesn't fit into either body type shows up and isn't treated like a joke/gag or a character to rip on, I can't help but be happy about it. As much as I have no clue wtf is going on with TLOU2, I can appreciate that Abby's portrayal doesn't seem to exist solely as a joke meant to demean women for working out. I'm excited when an anime protagonist is a fat character who can go beyond just being a "fat guy" and is treated the same way a normal person would be.
Regardless of what you think about whatever trait you're criticizing, there's probably someone out there who fits it. If you're not into it or dislike it, then that's fine, but I'd rather have that expressed than it being actively made out as a harmful trope as opposed to just literally another body type that some women have.
Section 3: Muscular women inspire me more
Ok so, we've now blown into a full-on personal experience, buckle up boys, girls, NBs, anything in between, and I feel like I'm forgetting someone so apologies! But yeah, muscular women in media tend to be a lot more inspiring than people seem to give them credit for. This comes down to a mix of both the qualities I outlined earlier in what makes the characters inspiring but also plays into the idea of body diversity.
One of the traits that make amazons seem more inspiring is their inherent rarity/lack of screentime. As I stated earlier, whilst I do enjoy my fair share of man-titties, it kind of gets to a point where it's more depressing than inspiring when all you see is just super-models shoved in your face whenever you walk into a theater. If for every Goku I could find ten other guys who were on the chubbier side then I'd be able to take more from when I see Goku and other characters with his body type, yet it's so saturated that it no longer becomes something to aspire to, but simply the norm.  It's not that you can work to become muscular or skinny with hard work and effort, you have to be muscular or skinny unless you want to be deemed a failure. Being chubby often isn't presented as a starting point but just treated as a defect. As someone who spent years battling with my own self-perception, that's just not a good message to get across.
Now, this obviously isn't to say that people can never make muscular characters. After all, it's their story so they can put whatever they want in it. The aim of the game isn't to stop people from making a specific type of character, but to encourage a diverse set of people to make a diverse set of characters. This is the reason why I view muscular women as so inspiring. Instead of coming across as just "the norm" or "the standard" they stand out from the crowd and despite knowing what they have to deal with, are still ready and willing to work out and improve their bodies. They had a goal in mind and set time aside to achieve said goal, that's something I can get behind.
  Conclusion:
This will be another short section, but I just wanted to mention it because it caps off my thoughts on this post in general. What originally started as me just not getting the reason why people disliked Teela's design somehow turned into a passionate rant and I'm A) not sure if it fits on this particular subsection of the community, B) scared I'm going to get ripped to pieces, and C) somewhat unsatisfied with all that I said. At the end of the day, this probably won't be seen by too many people, but to those who do see it, I hope you have a wonderful day. I just wanted to talk about something that was near and dear to my heart and hoped that I made it clear why I view things the way I do.
P.S: Can we stop having this double standard where we act like women whose arms show the slightest hint of definition are "unrealistic" whilst men can look like tree trunks and be considered normal and healthy? please and thank you!

DIAL 111: HOW TO WORK WITH YOUR SPIRIT GUIDES
BY: RUBY WARRINGTON ·
Do you know how to work with your spirit guides? Ruby Warrington gets a lesson in life’s celestial helpers from spirit-guide-whisperer Rebecca Campbell…
There follows a lesson in how to work with your spirit guides by Rebecca Campbell. Read more at Thenuminous.net
Inviting them into your dreams is one way to work with your spirit guides…
It happens fairly often among my Numinous circles that somebody will casually drop into the conversation that they’ve been working with their “spirit guides.” At which point I’ll nod and be like, “that’s rad, dude” – because, conceptually, I’m totally down with the idea that there are benevolent Universal forces working on our behalf all the time, and that we get to choose how and when we interact with them. That’s called “creating your own reality,” right?
But then I meet Rebecca Campbell, an Aussie author, mystic, coach, and co-founder of The Spirited Project, who insists that our guides are actually more like real entities – angels, I guess – who are just kind of hanging out, polishing their wings, until we call them into action. Learn to work with them, and they can offer assistance in every area of life – in fact; “no request is too big or too small, too specific or too broad,” she says.
It’s a pretty out there idea, even for me. And I (obviously) embrace a LOT of out there ideas. But I LOVE the concept (I’m already picturing my guides like a kind of spiritual Spice Girls, with the dance routines and everything), and so I asked Rebecca for the full low down. Here’s what she had to say…
Your guides – kind of like spiritual Spice Girls?
So does every individual on the planet have their own spirit guides?
Yep, everyone has their very own team of spirit guides who are completely devoted to their growth. I like to think of them as a group of amazing cosmic beings who have our back no matter what. But because of free will, in order to receive their support, first we need to ask. Asking is super simple (like, you can do it right now).
For general guidance:
“Hey spirit guides…I am open to receiving your loving guidance in all areas of my life. Thank you, and so it is.”
For more specific guidance:
“Hey spirit guides…I am open to receiving your guidance surrounding (insert specific request here). Thank you for guiding and supporting me.”
The thing about spirit guides is that they’re always there – we just don’t notice them. When you’re devastated by a terrible break up, they’re there. When you’re looking for a spot to park your car, they’re there. If you’re trying to make a difficult decision, they’re there. They’re by your side right now. What do you want their help with right now? Go on, ask them right now!
Okay, but first I need to know how they actually do their work?
Our spirit guides work with us through signs, people, nature, synchronistic events and our intuitive senses (inner seeing, inner knowing, inner hearing and inner feeling).
So the best way to start working with your spirit guides is to ask them for a sign. When I first started working with my guides I asked them to send me a light peach feather to prove to me that they were really there. Within half an hour I had received two peach feathers, which was pretty amazing – and what I needed to open my mind and heart up to noticing the support they could offer me. (nb: I tried this last night by asking for a blue crystal – nothing yet. I’ll keep you posted. Update: two hours later I was working out and found a mini crustal on the studio floor – but it was mauve. Close!)
The more you work with your spirit guides, the stronger the connection gets. It’s just like working out – you can’t expect to have a six-pack like J-Lo if you only do one sit up.
Okay, so is there one team of spirit guides working for us all, or are they individual for each person?
Everyone has their own team of spirit guides, which are assigned just to them. We are born with spirit guides and also recruit them as we go about our life.
I find that most people have around six spirit guides in their “inner circle.” These are the guides who are completely unique to us. Some spirit guides have had lifetimes here on earth (often appearing as “people” e.g. an American Indian teacher, a Tibetan monk, an inspirational business leader etc.) – while others may just appear as beings of light.
I believe that our purpose on Earth is twofold:
1. Evolve as a soul (learning, growing and raising our vibration)
2. Be the light (light up the world by following what lights us up)
Our spirit guides are assigned to us to help us do both these things. The more we allow and receive their guidance and support, the easier our path becomes.
Accept their support, and move forward more smoothly on your journey
I like the idea of us being “assigned” out guides at birth – how does this happen?
Your soul recruits your spirit guides based on your unique soul calling and the path you are here to walk. Your guides are perfectly suited to your highest calling, and waiting to guide you as much or as little as you wish. No matter what you’re facing, their presence means you always have the support around you to make it through.
I believe that we are born with one main guide (also known as a Guardian Angel) who stays with us throughout our lives – and by the age of 18-25 most people have recruited their spirit guide “posse.”
We can recruit more guides as needed though. For example, while writing my book Light Is The New Black I recruited two light beings and a new teacher guide to help me – in exactly the same way as I used to call on famous ad men to help me present my creative ideas in a way that would most resonate with the client when I worked in advertising.
What if I’m still having a hard time getting my head around the concept…
What holds most people back from developing a relationship with their spirit guides is their need for hard core visual “proof” that they exist. For a long time, I was waiting for my spirit guides to ring my doorbell and chat to me over a bottle of vino (clearly that never happened).
I wanted to know their hair color, their favorite movies and where they grew up. But the moment I Iet go of any need for them to appear in a certain way and just opened myself up to the possibility and trusted, the more my relationship with my guides grew and the more evidence of their presence I received in other ways.
Everyone’s experience with their spirit guides is personal, and because they work in the subtle realms, it takes practice to sense them. We are all six sensory beings, but we need to work our intuitive muscles each day to strengthen our intuitive connection with them.
Most people experience their guides through their predominant intuitive sense: Clairvoyant (clear seeing), Clairaudient (clear hearing), Clairsentient (clear feeling) and Claircognizant (clear knowing).
Can you give us some tips to start working with them on a regular basis then?
1. Start asking them for guidance…right now
2. Thank them for guiding you – they love a bit of positive reinforcement!
3. Ask them to send you a sign (e.g. a feather, a butterfly, elephants…whatever you fancy)
4. Keep a little notebook by your bed, and jot down any experience you might have had with them and any signs you spotted throughout the day. The more your book fills up, the more you will notice their support
5. Before you go to sleep ask your spirit guides to come to you in your dreams. The moment you wake up, note down any experiences you may have had with them
“She’s behind you…” Your spirit guides have always got your back
I’m almost convinced – can you share any amazing experiences you’ve had working with your guides?
These days I speak to my spirit guides every day – but my favorite story of working with my guides happened earlier this year, when I handed in my book proposal to Hay House (twice) but hadn’t heard anything.
One of my spirit guides is a woman (spirit) named Charlotte. Charlotte appears as a terribly English high society lady from the 1920’s who wears big dresses, hats and gloves. A gifted gossip, with her fingers in all the most influential pies, Charlotte is here to help me get my message out there and the name spoken about in the right circles. Knowing that getting some publicity might increase my chances of being published, I called on Charlotte for help and then surrendered it.
That same day I was connected with a journalist – and one week later she was commissioned to write a story, “Like a Prayer”, for the UK’s Sunday Times Style Mag (which also happened to feature the who’s who of Hay House authors, as well as The Numinous). Two weeks later, I got the phone call from Hay House offering me a deal!
When I went into Hay House to meet the team for the first time, the Publicity Officer mentioned that she’d seen the Sunday Times article and asked who my publicist was. Without thinking I responded “my spirit guide Charlotte!” Now, I’ve sat around a lot of boardroom tables in my life, but that was the first one that I was able to casually drop the name of one of my spirit guides and credit them for their work. I love it!

at risk of asking a dumb question.. how did you know you were nb/you wanted to go by they/them? i ask as someone trying to figure it out
this isn’t a dumb question - the opposite, really, since this is the entire point of my thesis (that everyone is sick of hearing about). there really isn’t a lot of research in social sciences about non-binary identity, and what does exist is either going through peer review right now and isn’t accessible, or takes a v strong biomedical approach that totally ignores the social dimension of identity work. but that’s not exactly what ur asking so i’ll save that for my phd proposal lmao
the main Thing for me was always feeling discomfort with my birth name. from a v v young age i’d hear it and be like......is that supposed to be me? am i supposed to connect that collection of syllables to [gestures vaguely at all of this]? it just didn’t click with me. my birth name isn’t overtly feminine or anything but it’s definitely a ‘female’ name, so i guess i kind of hitched all my gender-y baggage to that horse and went okay well that’s clearly not right
i discovered the term non-binary on tumblr in about 2012? 2013? i was definitely questioning my gender by 2013, because i’d just had my first girlfriend and i felt incredibly uncomfortable when she called us lesbians. let me be super clear about this: it wasn’t internalised lesobophobia that caused the discomfort, it was the fundamental incompatibility of a gendered label having anything to do with me.
(sidenote: there’s actually a really interesting argument by monique wittig discussed by judith butler in gender trouble that explores the idea that man/woman are inherently heterosexualised roles and therefore being a non-hetero woman/lesbian....isn’t exactly the same as being a capital-w Woman? it’s a complex theory that some lesbians/wlw have taken as an empowering concept while others feel like wittig leans into t/e/r/f or political lesbian territory. ANYWAY baby gene didn’t know this discourse existed and thought lesbian = woman so that’s what i’m getting at)
after breaking up with my girlfriend i v briefly toyed with the idea that i might be a trans guy, and while that felt slightly more correct than being a cis woman, it still didn’t sit right with me? so i cycled through a few different things, most significantly genderfluid, until one day when i was about 14/15 where i just went u know what? fuck it. i’m non-binary. u can try and define whatever the fuck is going on here but good fucking luck.
that was around the same time i started using they/them pronouns, first online and then slowly more irl as i went to uni/talked to new people. i tried he/him and ze/zir for a while but like id-ing as a trans guy/genderfluid, it just didn’t feel right. it was a lot of trial and error, plenty of late nights staring at the ceiling practicing introducing myself, so much reading about trans identity - and somehow i ended up here, literally being non-binary as a career.
my main advice to u is to have fun with it. gender can feel really serious at times, especially when there’s so much emphasis on physical transition, but i promise it’s okay - good, even - to just fuck around while u find something that works, and for all its faults tumblr is actually a great place to do just that. u want to use neopronouns for a week? go for it! u want to change ur name every second month? sure! u don’t want people to see or perceive ur gender? bitch me too the fuck
and it’s alright if nothing fits right away, or ever! like, show me a permanent state of self. there isn’t one. we’re all just meaty sacks on a slowly dying planet; who gives a shit if the person u were calling greg last week is emily now. humans change - it’s what we do best. resisting that urge to change is how we get tony abbott eating a whole raw onion on national tv.
i want to leave u with this quote from gender trouble, which is a fantastic book if u can muddle through all the unnecessarily complicated academic language:
If the body is not a “being,” but a variable boundary, a surface whose permeability is politically regulated, a signifying practice within a cultural field of gender hierarchy and compulsory heterosexuality, then what language is left for understanding this corporeal enactment, gender, that constitutes its “interior” signification on its surface? Sartre would perhaps have called this act “a style of being,” Foucault, “a stylistics of existence.” And in my earlier reading of Beauvoir, I suggest that gendered bodies are so many “styles of the flesh.” These styles all never fully self-styled, for styles have a history, and those histories condition and limit the possibilities. Consider gender, for instance, as a corporeal style, an “act,” as it were, which is both intentional and performative, where “performative” suggests a dramatic and contingent construction of meaning.
(and because i’ve been referencing things all day and can’t break the habit now - emphasis mine, Butler 1999 (2nd ed.), pg. 177)
happy gendering!

mod a’s lgbt musicals
Hi there! I’m a big theatre kid so I thought for pride month I’d put together a list of LGBTQ musicals. Despite its association with queer people, musical theatre is not known for its amazing representation. I’ve put together a list here of musicals I know of with queer characters. I’ve tried to avoid those where the queer characters are incredibly minor roles or those where the representation is just not good enough to be salvageable (*side eyes Legally Blonde*) I know there are many musicals I will have missed out but these are the ones I am most aware of. Feel free to add more! So without further ado, here it is.
Fun Home
The big Tony winner of 2015! Based on Alison Bechdel, a butch lesbian cartoonist. At the age of 43, she looks for new material by trying to explore her past and her relationship with her closeted gay dad. Looks back at a version of herself when she was 10 and a “tomboy” and at 19 when she came out and got her first girlfriend. Has very cute lighthearted moments as well as very sad moments. Has a beautiful song where small Alison sees a butch deliverywoman. Problems in that since the original broadway cast, Alison’s costume has got less butch. Content warning for suicide.
Here’s their Tony performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMAuesRJm1E
The Color Purple
Based on Alice Walker’s novel about black women in the 1930s. Follows Celie who has been abused by men her whole life who discovers she is a lesbian but also makes a journey of self discovery and learns to love herself. Her love interest is a bisexual woman. Won best revival at the Tonys in 2016. Content warning for discussion/implied sexual abuse.
Here’s their Tony performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k2xzQyT2bk
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie
A teenage gay boy in Sheffield wants to be a drag queen and go to prom in a dress. Also a nice touch that is does not focus on him having a relationship (since he is sixteen) and him having to come out as he is already out. Focuses on his close relationship with his supportive mother. Has a diverse cast. Jamie is currently played by a black actor and his best friend wears a hijab and has a very diverse ensemble as well. Unfortunately has a part where Jamie responds to a homophobic bully by calling him a bunch of ableist and classist slurs.
Here’s a clip of the most popular song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7C3FuFWDdw
The Prom
Emma is a lesbian teenager in Indiana whose prom is cancelled by the PTA after she requests to bring her girlfriend to it. A group of Broadway actors come down to help her campaign to be allowed to attend prom, as well as styling her, helping her work on her confidence and educating the town’s people. What ensues is basically a two hour musical episode of Queer Eye. Cheesy and fun with so many musical theatre references crammed in. My one issue is that the show is rather harsh on people who are closeted since Emma has conflicted with her girlfriend Alyssa because she is not ready to come out.
Here’s a clip of their Tony performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGcG_r5xv3E
Rent
Probably the most well known on this list. Artists in New York during the AIDS crisis. Two of the main couples featured are queer: Maureen is bisexual and in a relationship with Joanne who is a lesbian, and Angel is a transgender woman of color in a relationship with Collins, a presumably bisexual man. However, she tends to be played bi cis men and there are instances of her being misgendered by the main characters uncritically. In Rent Live (2019), all instances of her being misgendered were removed and her gender identity was confirmed. She was played in this by Valentina, an nb drag queen and has also been played by Pose’s MJ Rodriguez, a trans woman. Very diverse with Jewish characters and people of colour and in the live show, only 1 of the 8 main characters was white. Has been criticised over the years, mainly for its biphobic portrayal of Maureen who is promiscuous and implied to cheat, but in the 90s did a lot for the LGBTQ community and is more progressive than a lot of media even now.
Here’s a clip of Maureen and Joanne from Rent Live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06oCfKYYPTY
And here’s some Angel and Collins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hl-M94o_x8
Falsettos
Marvin comes out as gay in the late 70s but decides to move his ex wife and son in with his boyfriend. Addresses AIDS crisis in Act 2. Has “lesbians from next door” in act 2. F Revived on Broadway in 2016. All of the characters are Jewish. Unfortunately, in revival casts, very few actors tend to be Jewish.
Here’s the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjnAHOdMQVk
Come From Away
In the aftermath of 9/11, 38 planes are diverted to a small town in Canada called Gander. Shows people of different races and nationalities bonding in a scary time. Addresses Islamophobia. Has one song called Prayer where prayers from different religions overlap. Has an interracial gay couple called Kevin and Kevin. They break up in the end but are very important characters. Won best direction of a musical in 2017. The Broadway production starred Jenn Colella who has referred to herself as ‘mostly gay’.
Here’s a clip of Jenn Colella singing a song from the musical: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8ukgH6U-d0
Head Over Heels
Honestly I don’t quite know what this musical is about, even by reading the plot summary and listening to the soundtrack. I know it’s set in a Tudor fantasy world and that there are wlw couples as well as an explicitly non binary character, played by Peppermint, a trans woman, and that there are interracial couples and plus sized actors. It is a jukebox musical using songs by the Go-Gos and yes the wlw anthem that is Heaven is a Place on Earth is one of them. The soundtrack is fantastic even if you can’t follow what is going on.
Here are some show clips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx2qQ7QAPm0
Spring Awakening
German school kids in the 19th century discovering their sexuality. Two of the schoolboy supporting characters, Ernst and Hänschen, have a romance when they have a reprise of an earlier song in Act 2.  A BIG content warning as it has graphic discussions of rape and songs about it and a sex scene with very dubious consent. However there was a very wonderful 2016 revival using deaf actors and sign language.
This is another one you can very easily find the full show of on YouTube which I won’t link. However here’s the Tony performance for the revival: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSagsMcak4Q
If/Then
A woman named Elizabeth (originally played by Idina Menzel) moves to New York after a divorce and contemplated how different her life would be if she took two different paths. Four supporting queer characters. Her ex-boyfriend is bisexual and played by Anthony Rapp (who is bisexual in real life) and he gets a boyfriend in one timeline. Another of her friends is a lesbian called Kate who marries her girlfriend in the musical. Problems occur as in both timelines, cheating goes on in the lesbian relationship although they stay together in one. Elizabeth also says she doesn’t believe in bisexuals, a view no one ever challenges her on, however Lucas is very clearly bisexual which is some proof for the audience that she is wrong.
I’m not going to link it here but there are many very high quality bootlegs on it on YouTube if you want to watch,
Ghost Quartet
A bit of a weird one. This is more of a concept album. There are four performers who each play instruments and they tell the stories of many interconnected timelines. It is very hard to explain but there are souls travelling through time who keep being reincarnated as different people with different relationships to each other which usually end with one woman killing the other. In the song Soldier & Rose, the ghosts Rose and Pearl are lovers as Rose seduces the soldier for her honey.  In the song Four Friends, for one chorus the men sing “I like to put my hand on a pretty girls’s knee” and the women sing “pretty boy’s knee” and then they switch for the next chorus so they’re all bisexual. In general, a lot of fun if you like weird musicals and I mean really weird.
The full show is online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJSaEJm8pCE
Mean Girls
Yes there’s a musical of it. I was not looking forward to it when it was announced but have actually grown to quite like it. It’s hardly lyrical genius but the songs are fun and a lot of the problematic aspects of the film have been fixed. Damian is more explicitly gay in the musical and sings about an ex boyfriend in one song. Janis is heavily implied to be a lesbian (confirmed by actress offstage) and she doesn’t end up with Kevin Gnapoor. She is played by a queer actress in the tour cast. Both queer characters are much bigger roles than in the movie and get several songs each. I’d consider the musical to be quite white feminist but it does address issues such as the sexualisation of teenage girls and the notion that to be ‘sexy’ is ‘empowering’.
Here’s a clip of one of Damian’s songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-zM6QKkxEQ
& Juliet
An English jukebox musical about what might have happened to Juliet in Romeo and Juliet if she had not died at the end. I haven’t seen it but I’ve listened to the soundtrack and it is mainly comprised of 21st century songs by women. One of Juliet’s best friends is non binary although is played by a cis man as far as we know. Also I went to the same school as one of the actors which is a bonus for me. Very diverse cast.
Here’s a trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dm2k9nS3o20
In Transit
A capella musical about several people’s adventures on New York public transport. Two of the main characters in this ensemble cast are an interracial gay couple where both are pocs. They are engaged but one of them is having trouble coming out to his mother. I found it refreshing in that his fiance for the most part was not upset with him at his struggles in coming out and they were both able to live fulfilling lives despite this. I am always astonished by the talent of a cappella singers.
Here’s a trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhvik6qoass  Another one where the bootleg can be found very easily on YouTube
Firebringer
Remember A Very Potter Musical? Well, the company that did that are still putting out new pieces of theatre on their YouTube channel. In 2016, they put out their ridiculous comedy musical Firebringer, about a group of bisexual cavewomen. I won’t spoil the ending but trust me, it’s great. You may know it from the viral clip of one of the main characters singing ‘I don’t really wanna do the work today.’
You can watch the full musical here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmVuNlu0LCk
Special Mentions
Company
Musical by Stephen Sondheim about a man unable to commit to a relationship, surrounded by his friends who are all in couples. However, the award-winning 2018 West End revival chose to change the genders of some of the characters. The main character Robert became ‘Bobbie’ (although all of her love interests were gender-swapped as well). One of the originally M/F couples became an M/M couple. It opened on Broadway for about a week before the Covid outbreak so that will be one to look out for.
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtDK03y4gT0
In the Heights
A musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda about the Latin American community living in Washington Heights in New York. The original theatre production has no explicitly queer characters. However, in the upcoming movie version (that was meant to be released this summer but has been pushed back to next summer) it has been confirmed that the characters of Daniela and Carla (Daphne Rubin-Vega and Stephanie Beatriz) will be explicitly a couple.
I absolutely love this musical and the trailer for the movie looks beautiful check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0CL-ZSuCrQ

CHARACTER INTRO:
NAME: Julian Joseph Grant
AGE: 36
OCCUPATION: Defense Attorney
BIRTHDAY: March 28th, 1985. (Aries)
HOMETOWN: Phoenix, Arizona.
FACECLAIM: Chris Evans
BACKGROUND:
The Grants were a legacy that only a special few could uphold. Born from old money, many successes, and lawyers at their top grade, the family name would stand the test of time. Henry Grant, and his wife, Andrea, would come to dote on their children, wanting perfect statues of successful, money, and power. Therefore, this meant that Henry had his eyes set on Julian following in the promising footsteps of a Grant, going into law, ruling with an iron hand. What Henry Grant hadn’t counted on? Just how hardheaded his oldest would come to be. Always on his own path, it’d come that Julian and his father would clash more then anything else. Julian wanted to be free, and see where life took him. He didn’t care about the name he was born under, or the successes his family seemed to come with. He simply wanted to live life his way, and because of this, the divide between father and son was most noticeable. At 16, Julian would come to meet someone who would change the course of his life. It was love at first sight, or so it’d seem. This girl seemed to be the one to get the wild and carefree Julian Grant under control. So, much so, that Julian would make the decision to move out of his family’s mansion, at the tender age of 17, and shorty after the two young teens would find themselves married. And oh boy, did that set ablaze so bright.
But at the time, no one could tell Julian anything. He was simply gonna do what he wanted to do. This, however, maybe the one thing he should’ve taken advice to. Just short of a year of his young marriage, the woman he was so sure was the love of his life had left him. Ring on the counter, and a note with an simple ‘I’m sorry’. A realization that she was following after her dreams, which didn’t exactly involve him, anymore, it’d seemed. The broken heart he’d feel was unbearable, as was the anger. Picking up a piano that he had in his place, he’d proceed to throw it against the wall. And the next thing he’d know, he was trashing the room. Little did he know that the broken heart he felt would be the least of his worries. His dreams of playing professional ball would also come to a crashing haul after a drunken night had left him incapacity of continuing on the field. Instead of stopping there, he'd dive deeper into the bottle. Drinking away his problems. The memory of her, the pressures of being a Grant, his lost dreams of getting away from his family, and playing ball, everything. One night of that would turn into many, and before he knew it, the alcohol seemed to take him completely out of his reality. He felt in control of his life, despite the fact that this was further from the truth. Before he knew it, he was making even headlines in his town, adding to the scandals the family was so well known for. Not at all surprising to those around them. After all, Andrea Grant had made the headlines countless of times in just the short years prior, following her divorce from Henry Grant. Her son now making them just seemed like the apple that fell from the tree. This would all come to a head when he’d find himself in a bar fight one night. Angry at the world, and fuel by the liquor in his veins, he’d come to nearly beat a man to death. Leaving him only hanging on by an inch of his life. He’d come to find himself facing time in prison for his assault. But as one could expect from a Grant, the family name, his father’s representation in the court room, and the money they held, it’d all would proceed to do Julian well. Getting him off rather light, he’d find himself doing countless hours of probation in place of the jail time he was looking at. But with his light sentence, came strings. His father now owned him, and Julian did very little to fight him.
Julian would take this time to fix himself, going to AA, he wanted to get control of himself once again. Along the way, his father would also regain control over his oldest son. Setting Julian up on the path that Henry always felt he should've been on. Pulling the right strings a long the way, Julian would fall into line. Law showing to be a natural talent in the blood as he was a shark in the court room, only following foot steps that were so desired of him. Who he was only a shadow of who he was, his past feeling like it was hardly ever apart of him. as he now seems to be the perfect mini me of his ruthless father. Working along side him at the family firm.
ALSO
Over the years, his heart has turned rather cold. Focusing more on work and such, as his love life has only ever truly been a joke. he has come to realize that the less he involves such serious commitment into his life, the happier he is.
He is ruthless in the courtroom, and his success proves that it works for him. That ruthlessness has translated into his personal life, just a little, but most people still find that they’re capable of starting up a conversation with him and getting through with it just fine. Most people who knew him growing up would say that he isn’t remotely the person they remember, nor thought he’d be. Some would consider that a good thing, others-- not so much.
THE GRANT FAMILY:
Henry Grant: A powerful man who likes things his way. Extremely hardheaded and unwilling of change. The relationship between father and son is at best --- just okay. Most days they butt heads, and argue. As it is truly almost like having two of the same people in one room together. But their relationship has gotten a little better from where it was years ago. They are two very powerful men in their own standing, and that is sometimes not the greatest thing to have around at the same time.
Andrea Grant: A carefree, wild, live loving woman. Once stuck to follow the dreams her own parents had for her, she found herself quite unhappy for quite a long time. Her marriage to Henry was a rough one, more for show then anything else. His mother has gone on to do her own thing since the divorce, she’s very open with her body, and high end sex work (ex. toys, having posed in play boy, just being very much a MILF, which makes him extremely uncomfortable when people realize that’s who his mother is, and they wanna speak on it.) Most days its hard for his mother or father to be even remotely civil to one another.
2 younger siblings: He’s close to his siblings, for the most part, but they have all had their issues with different things in the past. Their parents have definitely screwed them up, and that’s probably the thing they can share and agree on the most.
(pinterest)
WANTED CONNECTIONS
THE BEST FRIEND: M/F/NB. This person has been by his side for a long time, and may have even helped get him sober when he first went to get help. This is his person. The individual that can get through to his no matter what.
COLLEAGUES: Lawyers, cops, judges. Anyone who would work in law and would have come across each other at some point. It can be a good relationship, it can be a bad one.
THE FIRST LOVE: This would be his ex-wife, and the whole young love disaster. They were together most of high school, he wasn’t the nicest person when she first met him, but she got through to him unlike most have. She ended up leaving him about a year after they got married. For absolutely whatever reason.
THE SECOND SHOT: Despite how shitty his first marriage ended, he managed to find someone else. Only this didn’t end all that well either, once again, for whatever reason. But this relationship was just as much a string as the last.
HOOK UPS/FWB: He is so very good at these. A little too good at this point. This is an area he masters, and he likes that. He doesn’t care for the emotions, but the sex, he enjoys the sex. And he enjoys experimenting. No nights spent, no names given, no emotional baggage. Best of both worlds.
SIBLINGS: There’s 3 of them. So they could all be boys, the last two could be girls, it could be one girl, one boy. It could also be nonbinary. Anything works. And I will put out a WC with more info on that later.
POSSIBLE EXTENDED FAMILY (ex. cousins, but ALSO STEP-SIBLINGS): As I do believe his parents possibly remarried.
ENEMIES: People will 100% hate him. There is no doubt there, so any which one, I’m down. He defended someone your character hated. He was a dick to yours one day at a coffee shop. Might hate him because of his family. The possibilities are endless here tbh.
Truthfully I am open for everything and anything. I can’t wait to plot with you guys!<3

Hypnovember 2019 Master List
Jesus. Jesus Christ, that’s a lot of writing. I don’t really consider myself a writer generally and this is definitely the first time I’ve written this much this quickly. I’m going to look at my word count soon, but- I think I may have written a novel’s length of words? Wow.Thanks to everyone who encouraged me during this or provided support/ideas: thinking of @daja-the-hypnokitten , @liminal-wanderings , @mr-ackerman , @spiralturquoise , @wellgnawed , @sex-obsessed-lesbian , and @hypno-sandwich especially here but there were lots of y’all who reblogged or made kind comments. I appreciate every one of them. :)
Here’s a catch up of everything I’ve written so far this month. In honor of @jukeboxemcsa, I’ve also included a HypnoBS rating where 1 is absolute bullshit and 5 is normal Tuesday night.
Icons- 📰- story. 🔊- audio 💻- technology 😍- romantic 🌈- queer 😴- regular ole’ hypnosis 🛀- brainwashing and/or hypnotist in a tub 👻- spooky 🐈- at least one happy pussy ❓- bad or reeeally questionable consent ✝️- author's weird religious feels that somehow kept coming up
Day 1: Base Character-F/f 📰😍🌈🛀🐈
Choice quote: ”Or maybe it was the ship of Theseus- Janine seeing how many little pieces of her she could replace until she fundamentally just wasn’t the same person anymore.”
HypnoBS- I haven’t done this kind of play and have no first hand experience. Let’s say 3.
Newly added 11/18: @undersleeper requested some extra information on how the brainwashing was actually done in this story so I added this non-canon sequel. (I think the sequel boosts the BS score to a 4.)
Day 2: Colors- F/nb 📰😴 🌈
Choice quote: “Bri used to consider themselves a bad hypnotic subject.”
HypnoBS- 4. I haven’t done this induction specifically but love doing these kinds of overloads
Day 3: Dizzy- no gender specified🔊😴
Choice quote: “When you take deep breaths, you feel like you’re getting more oxygen, but actually the opposite is true.”
HypnoBS-5. Should get you in trance, we’re not ranking the accuracy of all the science herein.
Day 4: Sing- m/f kinda I guess? 📰❓
Choice quote:  “Tonight wasn’t the night to give in, he told himself. Not yet.”
HypnoBS- 1. Thank God.
Day 5: Poison- M/f 📰😍🛀🐈
Choice quote: “Lila could admit it. She was kind of a brat. But Sean? He was worse. He was a fucking troll.“
HypnoBS- 4? Haven’t done it, could probably make something in this realm work with the right person.
Day 6: Summon- F/f 📰😍😴🌈🐈
Choice quote: “Number one, there is no butch street cred. And number two- if there was such a thing, you and I both know that being seduced by a beautiful woman would only increase it.”
HypnoBS- 3 or 4. It’s quick and there would need to be a lot more talking generally. But sure.
Day 7: Underwear- F/f 📰😴🌈
Choice quote: “Under….where”, Destiny tested the word out loud. It sounded like a portmanteau of some sort. She understood the word “under” and the word “where” (or “wear”? “where are” maybe? maybe it was German?) but those two words together didn’t form much of a picture.”
HypnoBS- 5. Although have only done this as a hypnotist so I can’t speak to subject POV. This kind of thing is adorable to watch, though.
Day 8: Neighbor- F/f📰😍🌈 ❓
Choice quote: “When Jiyeon tapped her pencil, Alyssa tapped her pencil lightly to match.”
HypnoBS- 1. Maybe 1.5 since there are no monsters or demons.
Day 9: Idiotic- no gender specified📰😴
Choice quote: “Because Id-iotic. It’s literally what you want deep down”
HypnoBS-4. Not my thing but with the right people- sure.
Day 10: Smell- F/m 📰😴😍🛀🐈
Choice quote: “Belinda had also woken up from sexy dreams at night to the feeling of Ray’s head buried in her cunt.”
HypnoBS- 3 on the details. Some parts are more plausible than others. We’re outside my realm of experience here so others could probably rank more accurately.
Day 11: Broadcast- Hypnovirus/f 📰💻🛀✝️
Choice quote: “It felt important to present herself to the screen in a way that demonstrated her vulnerability and openness to instruction.”
HypnoBS- 4. Probably not likely, but I could see this kind of symbolic bleed with the right person pretty easily.
Day 12: Stage- M/m 📰😍🌈😴
Choice quote: “Brandon had not mentioned the hypnosis thing to Scott- it felt weird and personal and he had already half-convinced himself that he was being creepy in response to Scott’s platonic friendliness. He didn’t want to scare him off. He had never expected to see him here.”
HypnoBS- 5. At least as far as the hypnosis goes
Day 13: Bath- no gender specified 🔊🛀😴
Choice quote: *insert rambling about Pat Collins here*
HypnoBS- 5. But also a high general BS score. I was tired and needed to finish a thing. I am surprised but grateful people liked this one. :P
Day 14: Machine- M/f 📰😴💻😍✝️
Choice quote: “For as long as she could remember, Deidre had longed for self-annhilation.”
HypnoBS- 1. That’s not how brains work.
Day 15: Ooze- there’s a m and a f 📰😴🛀❓
Choice quote: “For example, your badge- did you know that putting all the stickers on the top of your badge like that usually means that you’re a hypnotist?”
Amy’s eyes widened a bit. “It does?”
HypnoBS- 2. Sadly.
Day 16: Wedding- something/f 📰👻❓
Choice quote: “She knew then that she was alone. No one could help her. No one could even see her.”
HypnoBS- 1.
Day 17: Gentle- a different something/f  📰 kinda 🐈❓✝️
Choice quote: “As long as she didn’t focus on it, it would write the story for her.”
HypnoBS- 1. I think. :P
Day 18: Infection- not stated/m 📰 🛀❓
Choice quote: “If he could just get the song out of his head, maybe he’d have a chance.”
HypnoBS- 2.
Day 19: Hideout- F/f 📰  🐈 😍😴🛀🌈
Choice quote: “’Come to me, pet. Come to me.’
Mesmera.
She could always sense when Galaxy Girl was weak. She consistently picked the perfect time to strike.
And now, she had found her apartment.”
HypnoBS-4.5
Day 20: Watch- no gender specified 🔊 😴
Choice quote: “Feel your thoughts just tick tick tick tick ticking gone”
HypnoBS-5
Day 21: Fighting- F/m 📰 😴
Choice quote: “His mistress loved resistance play. She delighted in watching him struggle and strain against an irresistible impulse.”
HypnoBS-5 Mmmm :)
Day 22: Mistaken- F/an entire hypnocon  📰  😴
Choice quote: “Ginger- submissive, wide-eyed, bottomy Ginger- was holding a crowd of 8 people in her hypnotic thrall. Some had their eyes closed already, while others were staring at her with the rapt look of early trance.“
HypnoBS- 4. But only because I haven't seen it yet. :P
Day 23: Heist- F/m  📰  🛀❓(😍 but it’s pretty messed up)
Choice quote: “The inside of the vault had gotten somewhat sparse-looking- David had been cleaning out the bank out at a much quicker pace recently- but there were still plenty of treasures here to bring to his mistress.”
HypnoBS- 3, maybe 2
Day 24: Business F/f 📰 😴😍🌈
Choice quote: “Summer was a well-mannered southern girl at heart. She knew that if something was none of her business, it was impolite and rude to know it. Best not to think about it too much. She didn’t want to be nosey.”
HypnoBS- 4
Day 25: Babble F/m📰 😴 🛀 (💻 kinda)
Choice quote: “You can feel your access to language lessening….and lessening. Feeling those parts of your brain losing blood, quieting, going to sleep. Imagine what that might look like on the fMRI- the color draining, darkening, going black. Your ability to use language can be almost completely gone.”
HypnoBS- 5 (Neuroscience BS- closer to 3)
Day 26: Enemy M/f 📰 😴😍🐈
Choice quote: “When she was denied for long periods of time, everything became sexual.”
HypnoBS- 5. Unf.
Day 27: Confidence F/m 📰 😴❓
Choice quote: “Dr Eleanor had been recommended to Richard by his friend Jon who had seen her previously. “She won’t bullshit you,” he had said, “she just gets right to the roots of your issues and helps you solve them.” He must have known what he was talking about- a year after visiting Dr Eleanor, Jon had recently married a wonderful woman. He was also running marathons and succeeding professionally. There were worse people to listen to, Richard thought.”
HypnoBS- 3 (although this kind of gaslighting is real and can be effective)
Day 28: Abduction F/f M/f background m/m 📰 😴😍🌈
Choice quote: “’And so she….’ Lilliana stopped. She stared for a moment in surprise at the space between Cirie’s fingers. Cirie looked like she was holding a small, invisible ball. Liliana tried to recall her train of thought (something about work?) but found herself strangely blank.
She looked at Cirie in astonishment.
‘You took it!’ she accused.”
HypnoBS- 5
Day 29: Doctor Doctor/Master (from Dr Who) 📰 😴🌈💻
Choice quote: “The doors in the Master’s mind all appeared to be open. The Doctor quickly scanned for malicious intent but-
Oh.
Oh my.
So that’s why.”
HypnoBS- I...uh...1?
Day 30: Kink The author/her self-indulgent whims 📰 🌈
Choice quote: “Ultimately, she really just  liked her friends- and she especially loved hearing all of their stories.”
HypnoBS- Cake. Imma eat a cake.
Thank you all for reading these! I know this is a long post, but I’d really appreciate reblogs of it. If you’ve liked my stories, please consider leaving me a tip on Ko-fi! Also I’d be happy to give extra information on any of the characters or a bit of what happens next if you want to send me an ask about any of these stories. I’m finding myself with a strange craving to write. Funny how that works. :P

i haven't sought gender therapy yet bc of covid. i haven't even been having regular therapy bc i got fed up with the phone calls and not understanding them or being understood. i know i need it.
but to a certain extent i resent that gender is medicalized and gatekept and this swarming horde of bees and questions that i never had to deal with with sexuality. sexuality was easy. i like women. i like men. i like nonbinary people. easy. i’m bi.
then mid 2018 i started trying to bind. over and over. my chest was getting bigger. i was always “flat” but now, less so. i was obsessed. did i want to be even bigger? smaller? did i want nothing there at all? i was also constantly trying to try on men’s clothes to see how they felt but i was too shy to even be in the men’s section. i still am anxious about it but getting better.
i adopted nb fem in late 2018. then march 2019 this massive wave of masculinity hit me and didn't leave for another year. she/her still feel wrong. they never really did before. it makes me feel fake. like i’m making this up and digging myself a hole. it’s my fault. i’m impressionable. neurodivergent of some sort. spending too much time in trans spaces. trans male, no less. i’m impressionable. a parrot. i don’t know what i feel. it’s just a fixation, another one of my passing obsessions.
everyone knew me as a girl. i readily said i was a girl. readily checked F. readily said, yep. only stated otherwise...once, that i found. just once. i wore dresses, had long hair until sophomore year, wanted nothing else. i wasn’t a full out tomboy like others. i was very much...girly. girly. flowers. purple pink... girly. correct. daughter sister everything lined up except that i liked girls too, and nonbinary people but people hardly acknowledged them. but that was fine bc they saw my relationship as straight for however long.
it’s like i hit the wall of woman and i just... it was wrong. woman is wrong. no matter what, it will always be wrong. would i have felt this way sooner if i had had a more dramatic body change earlier on? i don’t know.
i want so much to throw in the towel. pick a side. woman just means whatever i am and i should swallow that and shut up unless i have debilitating dysphoria. or gender means nothing we’re all gonna die this is stupid -- but then why do i care that everyone calls me she, lady, ma’am, miss, ms her woman girl. why do words mean anything at all.

did  you  just  see  NAJILA TAMIMI  pull  up  on  campus  for  the  new  semester  ?  they're  the  TWENTY-ONE  year  old  in DELTA ZETA ALPHA  right  ?  i  heard  they're  a  PRESIDENT  .  it  makes  perfect  sense  because  they’re  DECEITFUL  ,  but  at  the  same  time  DEBONAIR .  i  wonder  when  the  black  sheep  is  going  to  drop  the  big  secret  that  they  RECENTLY HAD AN ABORTION AND DIDN’T TELL THE FATHER  .  anyway  ,  i  constantly  hear  them  blasting  GLORY AND GORE  -  LORDE ,  tell  them  to  keep  it  down  ,  it's  quiet  hours  .
hi babes!! my name is mari, i’m 21 & my timezone is brt !! najila is a new character of mine so i’m still figuring her out a bit but ?? i am so excited to play her here akndjaskdn here’s a bit abt her !!
tall, blonde, and beautiful. born with a silver spoon doesn’t even begin to describe najila tamimi, daughter of sillicon valley billionaire hassan tamimi and former super model saskia van hall. life for najila was easier than most, but the combination of brains and beauty left by her parents meant the pressure to be perfect was high.
mostly, she succeeded. she managed being volleyball team captain, science olympiad champion, and student body president all while maintaining a 4.0 gpa and a fairly stable social life. the overachieving was something she got from her father. from her mother, however, she got the impeccable looks, perfect hair, and beautiful smile which made everyone either hate her or be her best friend. and really, those are generally the extremes you get with someone like najila.
on the outside, she is a selfless, extremely loyal, ride or die friend who will hold your hair while you puke and not even mention it the next day. she will make sure everybody loves you, get you in on the biggest parties, introduce you to anyone who’s anyone in the area you wanna work with, buy you ultra expensive gifts just because they reminded her of you. but she does have a hint of backstabbing bitch which means she will likely tell others about the things you did in a semi judgemental tone if you do anything that steps outside her lines of “perfect, elegant, and classy”. and if she hates you, be prepared to suffer, because she knows just how to play the victim whilst spreading vicious rumours about you.
so, is najila tamimi a good person? it’s hard to tell. but if you try to claim the contrary you will first have to scroll through her instagram page which is just as filled with her doing volunteer work and attending the mosque on fridays as it is of her at fancy parties with beautiful people.
the truth is she’s a mess of contradictions and it’s as easy to love her as it is to hate her. she appears to be the most humble person in the world despite all her beauty and wealth, but deep down is incredibly proud of all she’s accomplished and incredibly afraid that one day she’ll be dethroned.
despite having been offered modeling jobs a thousand times over, najila mostly declines them because she is too busy and has no need for the money. she’s also too ambitious and has big plans to make her mark. she’s majoring in physiological science, with a literature minor. her plan is to go to medical school and then work with an organization such as doctors without boarders, and work in research later in life. the literature minor is more of a hobby, really, as she loves it but not enough to pursue it and knows she won’t have enough time to study it later in life.
being as focused as she is on achieving her goals and exuding an image of perfection, seeing the two lines on a home pregnancy test turned her world entirely upside down. once it was confirmed, she knew she didn’t have long to make a decision. in discussions about abortion, najila had always had a clear stance, “it should be the woman’s choice, but i don’t think i could ever do it” and yet it seemed like the only thing that would not jeopardize the perfect future she had planned for herself.
she felt incredibly guilty during the entire process and those who are close to her may notice –– as much as she will deny it –– that something has changed. she barely eats or sleeps lately and is throwing herself into her studies and president duties more than ever. but the beautiful smile is still ever present on her face as she attempts to move on as if nothing had happened. what’s important is that no one ever finds out what she did, and this stays behind as the only imperfect stain in her otherwise perfect life.
wanted connections !!
best friend (f/nb): honestly i feel like this would be a very blair/serena type thing where they can be bitchy and fight a lot but at the end of the day they’re ALWAYS there for one another and it’s that sort of thing where ‘no one talks shit about my best friend except for me!!!’ i’d imagine najila told them about the abortion but nowadays tries to pretend like she’s fine and nothing ever happened.
would-be baby daddy (m/nb): could be a fwb, one night stand, ex boyfriend, wHATEVER the point is najila didn’t say anything about the pregnancy and feels incredibly guilty just looking at them and there’s bound to be lotsa drama when it gets out.
frenemies (m/f/nb): because with this combination of nice and bitchy there’s bound to be a lot of those!!!
party friends (m/f/nb): najila is a great party buddy cause she’ll stay up until 6 am, pay for ur drinks, and knows just the right amount of drugs you can take in order to get fucked up but not die!
sibling like relationship (f/nb): tbh i’d love this to be a younger delta zeta girl who najila just full on adopted and is probably grooming to become sorority president in the future. acts like their mother and would ruin anyone who tried to hurt them.
rival (f/m/nb): please i NEED a spicy rivalry !! probably someone who sees right through najila’s bullshit and thinks she’s a two faced bitch who doesn’t deserve all the credit she gets. she will definitely throw a lot of shade and spread nasty rumours so beware !!!!!
exes (f/m/nb): there’s so much we can explore here !!! naj is bisexual but is closeted af (type of girl who says kissing other girls at parties doesn’t count!!!!) so tbh i’d love a girl who she truly loved but wouldn’t assume her so it was a dramatic breakup through and through. but tbh she’s the type of girl who seems to always be dating so ??? exes who are still friends, exes who still hookup, exes who can’t even look at each other, i want them all
and honestly anything else we can come up with bc some of the best connections come from brainstorming anyway !! that is all !!! ily pls plot with me goodbye

where has the time gone? (long-term, originals, gay)
hey y’all! it’s been a while but i am back! hope y’all have been staying safe and healthy.
ok so i’m jo, she/her, GMT+3, 24 as of about a week ago woop! and i’m here to create some fun stories with some fun people! however… there is a twist this time (sort of). basically, right now i’m looking for roleplays that are more character-based than story-based. i’ve got a bunch of existing characters whom i’d love to get the chance to use, and i’d really love to hear about your character(s) and see ‘em in action! there’s still going to be a plot, of course. i’m just thinkin’ maybe we can come up with a plot based on the characters we decide to use rather than the other way around? if that’s not your jam, stick around, ‘cause i’ve also got a couple specific plot cravings which i’ll list further down!
so even with this little specification, i’ve still gotta tell you about what i’m into and not so into! first off, i usually do third person, past tense, multi-paragraph/sometimes novella stuff, though i’d be down for present tense if that’s more your thing! i’d also totally love trying shorter posts or even script style because it’s less pressure on me. either way, i’m the type whose word count depends on what’s happening in the story, so if you need long replies every time, i may not be the one for you! whether you write a paragraph or a hundred paragraphs is completely up to you, i do not expect you to match me or whatever! as long as you give me something to work with, we are gucci.
also, how often i can post a reply to the roleplay differs greatly, but i’ll almost always be able to chat ooc! (did I mention i love chatting with my partners?) consistency is not my strongest suit (especially after getting animal crossing lmao), so if you’re looking for a set amount of posts per day/week, i sadly cannot guarantee this. the good news is that i also don’t expect you to be consistent! take all the time you need, i’m not gonna hassle you for a post.
i’m good with both romantic and platonic relationships! i love romance in my stories but great friendships are just as satisfying! we could also just not pre-plan any romances and see if the characters come together naturally. HOWEVER—and this is very important—i DO NOT do heterosexual romance! m//, f// (trans characters included if you were wondering), and nb romance are A+++, but if we play a man and woman, don’t expect anything other than friendship!
speaking of romance, i am fine with including smut or fading to black, it’s up to your preference! another important thing to note: the whole top/bottom/dom/sub thing? not my jam. at all. i kind of make my characters without really taking into consideration which ‘role’ they’d have in bed so they’re all switches and that’s that on that. hopefully you feel similarly! we can talk about the specifics later, but my limits are pretty much the basics: no adult/minor pairings, toilet stuff, romanticized abuse, etc. i’m good with other mature themes like violence and alcohol and stuff too, but i don’t need ‘em in my story if you prefer keeping things on the more wholesome side. you still have to be 18+ to contact me regardless!!!!!!
my favorite genres involve supernatural, magical, or otherworldly themes in general. a lot of my characters are non-human (but they’re humanoid or use human vessels in case you were worried about that) or have magic capabilities. i do have a handful of good ol’ regular humans too if that’s what you prefer, though! however, don’t get me wrong: i’m super down for some cute stuff just involving regular humans as well. more on that later.
i’ve really been craving something involving royalty lately! a royal and their guard, two royals stuck in an arranged marriage, a royal and a thief, a magic academy for royals (ok this doesn’t fall into the ‘regular ol’ humans’ category but still!). the list goes on! childhood friends reuniting is also something i’d love to do, especially if the reunion is awkward/bitter because their last encounter wasn’t the best. i’m honestly down for so many things, just hit me with plot ideas and i’ll let you know!
one last thing: i prefer ooc chatter on discord and the actual roleplay being through email/gdocs, but i don’t mind trying out roleplaying on discord as well if you’re willing to be patient with me!
whew ok this has gone on for way too long. contact me at [email protected] and tell me about yourself and your characters/plots! i’ll tell you about my characters then because this is too long already and i’d like to know what themes you’re into before i start yammering on about absolutely everyone! i’ll give you my discord afterwards and we can go on from there! i probably missed something, so feel free to ask me anything you want to know more about in your email!
